Object oriented programming at its core is a practice of strategic thinking. Essentially, in OOP we tend
to focus on objects rather than actions and data rather than logic. A key step in OOP is identifying the
objects one wants to manipulate and observing how they relate to each other. The basic idea of OOP
involves breaking up the code into objects that can message each other, which proves to be very
beneficial. To better understand and use object oriented programming as intended, I decided to

C# is a general purpose programming language as part of Microsoft s .NET initiative. It was designed
for the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI). C# applications are compiled into bytecode that can
run on implementations of the CLI. The fact that Microsoft own Visual Studio means that the IDE is
not easily accessible to anyone, as Java is. That is later mentioned in the differences between the two.
From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was able to gather evidence on the
similarities between them and understand the ways that C# actually improves upon, when compared to
Java. An interesting discovery in my research was that the keywords in Java language are very similar
to the ones in C#; for example, new, bool, this, break, static, class, throw, virtual, and null. But they
are a few different keywords in C# that simply are not the same as in Java. Furthermore, C# and Java
share the same primitive data types, with the exception that C# uses the System namespace regarding
those objects. In C# and Java, there is built in garbage collection, it helps prevent memory leaks by
removing objects that are no longer being used by the application. Basically, this means that, although
memory leaks can occur, memory management is pretty much taken care for you. From an article that

The Islamic tradition, as reflected in Naguib Mahfouz s Zaabalawi, has over the course of history had
an incredible impact on Arab culture. In Mahfouz s time, Islamic practices combined with their
political relevance proved a source of both great power and woe in Middle Eastern countries. As
alluded to in Zaabalawi, Mahfouz asserts the fact that not all Muslims attain religious fulfillment
through this common tradition, and other methods outside the scope of Islam may be necessary in true
spiritual understanding.
My project emphasizes this spiritual tension by presenting a wineglass inscribed with Qur anic verses.

In accordance with these symbols of essence, the Qur anic script around the wineglass also proves
applicable to Zaabalawi. It reads, phonetically: Iqra/ warabbuka al akramu, Allathee AAallama
bialqalami. Or in English: Recite in the name of the Lord, who has taught by the pen. This is a passage
from the 96th Surah, Al A laq in the Qur an. Such references to writings and penmanship highlight the
importance of calligraphic beauty in such a society.
Muslims believe that it is important to read the Qur an in Arabic. Their religion teaches that God
intentionally presented the holy book to Arabs because their language holds a secret beauty and truth
not found in others. Thus, if one is to complete the task of reading the Qur an, it must be done in
Arabic or with a corresponding Arabic text. For this reason, I wrote in Arabic script around the glass
because its translation would be incomplete otherwise.
Furthermore, the first command of Allah is Recite! This is reflected in the Muslim appreciation for
both the oral recitation and visual replication of the Qur an. Calligraphy, as a creative expression of
the Qur an, has become a predominant art form in many Muslim countries. The calligrapher in
Zaabalawi, in fact, has had much contact with true spirituality in his mastery of the Arabic script.

Christianity And Religion In Beowulf And The Canterbury Tales
Throughout the Middle Ages, religion was a major theme in the literature of that time. Works such as
Beowulf and The Canterbury Tales are examples of this theme in action, but in very different ways.
God is seen purely as goodness in Beowulf, and everything that God approves of is good as well.
Contrarily, The Canterbury Tales satirizes religion by showing members of the church in a negative
manner and debating the teachings of the Bible, the latter particularly in The Wife of Bath s Prologue.
Despite these different takes on Christianity, the characters in both stories sin, yet are defended. Both
Beowulf and The Wife of Bath s Prologue contain different defenses of the protagonist s sin, to
varying degrees of success.
Beowulf s sins revolve around personality traits, namely his boastfulness and greed, however the
author does not acknowledge this sin. First and foremost, it must be made clear that these sins truly
exist in Beowulf and are in opposition to Christian morals, regardless of whether or not the author
condemns them. Upon his arrival in Heorot, Beowulf s conversation with Unferth demonstrates how
his pride and boastfulness is integral to his reputation. Unferth asks, Are you the Beowulf who took on

For example, Douglas MAcArthur s pride was huge because he won almost every battle and has been
