Slavery In Cincinnati
Cincinnati is a beautiful city on the Ohio River in southern Ohio that has a very rich history. The city
was founded in 1788 and soon blossomed into a thriving city. One important part of Cincinnati s
history was its involvement in the underground railroad and abolitionists. Based on the Ohio River it
posed as a perfect place to cross on the way to freedom. It also was close to the border with the south
during the civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states during
the war. Cincinnati was a important part of the underground railroad, abolitionist movements, and the
fight to end slavery. The underground railroad was not a real railroad to begin with, it was a series of
stations that hoped to lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the Cincinnati Riots
of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked the competition they received from
the African American community in the area. Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get
them to leave the area, leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left,
while others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in 1836, this time
attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery newspaper. A mob destroyed the press,
throwing it out into the streets in attempt to deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish
his newspaper. The Ohio river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the
jordan river by conductors and passengers. It was common to talk in code using biblical names on the
railroad and among conductors, such as calling Canada the promised land . One famous house that
was a station on the underground railroad based on the Ohio river was the Rankin

John Dewey Philosophy
A philosopher is known as someone who rationally investigates the truths and principles of being,
knowledge and conduct (Howe , 2010). According to (Justarius, 2007), A philosopher looks at the
world in wonder. He seeks the underlying meaning of things. He wants to understand it and codify it
into a system of thought. Being a philosopher means to engage in the never ending quest for being
fully and authentically human (Kimura, 2013). In the world today, there are many philosophers that
have walked this planet. John Dewey is one of the most important Philosophers that has contributed
his theory to the world.
John Dewey was born October 20, 1859, in Burlington, Vermont. He taught at universities from 1884
to 1930 (Editors, 2014). After he received a doctorate in 1884, Dewey was ... Show more content on

Dewey thought that people learn the best through experiences. He believed that learning was active
and schooling unnecessarily long and restrictive. His idea was that children came to school to do
things and live in a community which gave them real, guided experiences which fostered their
capacity to contribute to society (Neill, 2005). Instrumentalism is a theory of knowledge created by
Dewey in which ideas are seen to exist primarily as instruments for the solution of problems
encountered in the environment. He thought knowledge could be falsified which needed to be
consistently challenged and experimented on. He emphasized on inquiry based education (Bhuiyan,
2015).
The British had a major impact on the educational system in Trinidad and Tobago. The system reflects
the British colonial that once ruled the islands (Ali, 2015). The education system is one that is
completely different from the United States. Raiesa (Ali, 2015), further explains the education system

International Standard For Quality Management Systems
Introduction
This document is an overview of the ISO 9001:2008 international standard for quality management
systems developed by the International Organization for Standardization with the intent to give
specific requirements to companies and organizations on methods to enhance customer satisfaction
and meet statutory and regulatory requirements by improving effectiveness and performance of their
quality management systems. The overview will cover the requirement, certification procedures and
benefits of ISO9001 certification.
History
Quality management systems owe their basis to the the military industry. In fact the origins of
ISO9000 series of standards dates back to fifties, during the development of a nuclear submarine in
the US which had issues with contractors causing delays and quality breakdowns. As the result of the
research of that project the foundations of quality management were developed and other important
military standards were born such as NASA s and British Defence s quality management standards. In
1971 the British Standard Institute applied a QMS to electronics industry with the BS 9000 and, later
on, in the manufacturing industry in 1979,publishing the BS 5750 from which the ISO9000 series of
standard, published in 1987, is heavily based. After its revision in 1994 the ISO 9000 added separate
ISO 9001, 9002 and 9003 standards for different industries becoming the reference quality
management system standard in different nations and

Persuasive Essay On Summer Camp
Do you remember those hot summer days when you had nothing to do and your friends were nowhere
to be found? Throughout time, countless American children go away to summer camps and have
treasured this opportunity for a life time. I believe you should take the opportunity to go to summer
camp, because you will spend the day making new friends, building self confidence, and becoming
more independent. Many of us have had the chance to go to camp, creating lifelong memories that will
be retold for generations. In my opinion, the first reason for going to summer camp would be for
making new friends. As soon as you arrive to camp, everyone makes an agreement to respect each
other and to get to know one another. The group starts off by planning to

Irish Schools Vs American Schools
(Hook Statement) Irish and American schools are very different and similar in many ways. All Irish
primary Irish schools are free while American colleges and private schools cost money. Most Irish
schools are linked with the catholic church while most american public schools are linked with the
county. Overall, Irish and American schools are very different. Expectations in the Irish school
systems are higher than the US because of exams, the classes you take determine your future, and
extracurricular activities.
In Ireland, there are a lot more exams than in the US and there is a lot more pressure on the Irish
students. This is what a thirteen year old student said when asked what he worried about most. I

The Extinction Of The Tortoise In Galapagos
A recent article has been posted of a 100 year old tortoise named Diego who is responsible for saving
its species. The tortoises in Galapagos were almost in near extinction and this because the very few
males that are on the island did not seem an interest to the females, which slowed down the population
rate. The tortoise lives in a breeding center in Santa Cruz but is from a species called Chelnoidis
Hoodensis, which is a species that that is only found in Espanola. Knowing the history of this Diego
and seeing how he has produced many offspring before they decided to take him to Galapagos and he

Mary Meeker Biography Essay
Born in the early 1920 s, Mary Meeker s father saw great potential in his creative little girl. He vowed
to make sure she got to college, something which he had been unable to do. He fancied himself a
business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect
opportunity. Every new school brought another Intelligence Test and eventually Mary skipped a grade.
Mary s sister who was learning disabled was often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the schools,
causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or creativity and was
often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and recognizing that she and
her sister were at different ends of a spectrum, Mary vowed to advocate for the development of
diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her father s hopes as she gained a
Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational Psychology and continued with
post graduate studies.
In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a
related degree, and Mary accepted. She was immediately assigned to students with severe
developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw upon.
Eventually she motivated the children s creativity by dancing and singing for much of the school year.
When Mary was re assigned, she got a Special Education Class and found that it had a

Let s Talk About Love By Carl Wilson
In Carl Wilson s story, Let s Talk About Love: A Journey to the End of Taste has dependably disdained
Céline from the earliest starting point. Be that as it may, while most analysts would leave Céline there
and backtrack to spouting over lost tapes of live forms of early takes of Dylan s unwritten B sides ,
Wilson feels a sharp pain. To discover, Wilson sets out on what he believes as an experiment in taste
encountering solid months of Céline s submersion with a true objective to get to the base of his guilty
pleasure. Wilson s genuine desire is not Céline but rather the prickly philosophical issue on which her
notoriety has been skewered: the nature of taste itself. The principle question Wilson wants to analyze
is what propels aesthetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in all my years and in the event that anybody has a reason to sing around the notes as opposed to
hitting them precisely, it s her. In any case, Corin hits each and every note. It truly is noteworthy.
Many individuals don t sing live in light of the fact that they know they aren t equipped for singing
each note superbly. I think the most critical women s activist proclamation that faced me was the point
at which they said that ladies can shake similarly as hard as men. If I hear a lady that doesn t shake

Summary of storyline and Summary: Lead Characters Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson)
are two old school salesmen who lose their jobs because the company they work for closes and
because of the evolving technology today that is taking over sales. It is not easy for them to find jobs,
but Billy being the opportunist that he is, fills in an application for a summer internship at google.
Beside the fact that they do not have the right skills or qualifications for the job. They get accepted for
the internship and are up competing against young college students. They get split up into teams with
some college students set out to compete with other teams in order to get a permanent job at google.
Everybody in the team doubts Nick and Billy s ability including the head of the internship expresses
his doubts. When the teams get given the task to develop a new app, Billy encourages them to all go

and won. Another is when they had to find the bug, and the entire team was not getting along with
Billy and Nick, and the way they resolved that was sending them away because they were not helping.
In order to avoid any further conflict. Also just before they went to the strip club they had a huge fight

Information Technology Issues And Procedures
The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business
contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of
system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis,
system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary
study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place. This
enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the management
approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates the operational,
economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System analysis involves
breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a detailed study on them.
This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the system processes
(Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where the system analysis
logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process commences with the general
design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then finally the detailed design
process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the system data. Programmers
then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows; where a system test run is
done to identify and remove

The Roles and Influences of Media on Crime
In the political world, media has both a positive and negative affect. Americans as a whole are
engrossed with crime whether it be a fictional representation on a person s favorite television show, or
a true story the nightly news. The entertainment media influences our lives in consciously and
subconsciously, day in and day out, playing a critical and constantly cultivating role in the criminal
justice system and the conduct of politics.
How exactly does one determine what media is? According to your standard Google search on the
definition of the term, media is, the main means of mass communication (esp. television, radio,
newspapers, and the Internet) regarded collectively. Broken down, this ultimately means that any
means by which information is spread can be considered media. Even from the founding of the United
States, freedom and active accessibility of press and media has taken a serious part in American
politics. It would be difficult to imagine politics with out the accompaniment or presence of the media.
The availability of political information through media resources has changed over time with the
advancement of technology and overall globalization of our modern world.
FUNCTIONS
Mass media is not only built on entertainment value alone, but it also has political importance. By the
time the average high school student has graduated, they have spent more time in front of the
television than in a classroom, and in that classroom time, often the information that

Current Is Directly Proportional to the Voltage
What influence will the voltage (tested on 4 different voltages) have of the current of a circuit with
one resister (a light bulb) connected in the circuit (resistance is the constant of proportionality between
the current and the potential difference), where the external environment is kept constant as well as the
rest of the circuit been kept the same through the experiment? HYPOTHESIS: The higher the voltage
the higher the current will be in an environment that is kept constant, therefore the current is directly
proportional to the voltage. VARIABLES: INDEPENDENT VARIABLE: The voltage of the circuit
DEPENDENT VARIABLE: The current of the circuit CONTROLLED VARIABLES: The
environment where the experiment takes place. The same circuit board is used The same conductor
wires are used Same batteries are used The same resistor is used AIM: To determine the effect that the
voltage will have on the current of a circuit, when one resistor is connected in the circuit.
APPARATUS: Circuit board Conductor wires Ammeter Voltmeter Cells Rheostat Light bulb

anyone else. NASA picked Ham because he was the closest to human form so if something happened

smart as Ham we probably wouldn t have won the space race. Ham is the main animal that got our
space era going even better (Life). Without Ham our other smart monkeys, chimps, or even apes we

and in 2014 married a man in England to where same sex marriage is legal. Elton being a gay activist
and being a high profile artist, Elton helped the push to allowed same marriage to be legal in England.
I have learnt that Pop/Pop Rock style of music is very simple. That it goes by a set of rules from the
Major scale that every chord played is in the key signature of the chord, and that many songs could
only have three or four chords that are used. This applies to my personal development by reasoning
that to find a song with a good catchy tune, I can stick with major scales and play around with those
notes. That even the greats like Elton John became famous with sticking to major

Dorothy Of The White House
Dorothy Day grew up without a Catholic background, but had a strong will for social justice. She was
a natural pacifist which she expressed even before converting to Catholicism. She worked for the Call
which encouraged her picketing and strikes against social injustices. (57) Later, Dorothy also
protested with women against suffragists in front of the White House and was arrested. During her
time in prison, she got involved with a hunger strike which caused the demands to be met. (82) She
had a strong will for the fairness of others.
Dorothy had lived in an apartment in Chicago for a short time. She became acquainted with
Catholicism in a couple she had met there. After analyzing them, she realized they are not lonely like
she is because they are Catholic. They have a God to love and pray to. (106) Dorothy began to gain
Catholic faith while she was in a common law marriage with an atheist anarchist named Forster. He
disagreed with and discouraged her faith, but this didn t stop her. She found out she was pregnant with
his child and wanted to baptize her in the Catholic church after she was born and later got herself
baptized after working hard to learn religion. Forster left her for this. She chose God over man by this
point. (140) This showed how important her faith was in her life. The Great Depression began and
Dorothy s awareness of the need for Catholic stance grew. It was a time for pressure groups, for direct
action, and radicalism was thriving among all groups

Multi Dimensional Factors Which Influence The Planning,...
This report aims to discuss the multi dimensional factors which influence the planning,
implementation, and the evaluation of health interventions. The first part is the discussion of the
impact of the determinant factors such as the demographic distribution of populations, the political
values, the religious beliefs, the human values, the ethnicity, and traditions in the whole process, as
mentioned above of health interventions. The next section is about the public views and attitudes on
health and the factor that can alter health state such as illness, as well as the public attitudes towards
health and medical advocates. Lastly, this report will talk the different influences of the interaction
from cultural, social, national and international policy on the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of health interventions in New Zealand.
Demographic Distribution of Populations
Rapid influx of migrants with diverse ethnicity and cultural background, with different social and
economic status, age group that varies from birth, active years, and geriatric are factors that
contributes to changes in population demographics, that has specific demands which needs special
focus and attention. More people in the societies prefer to settle now in city than in countryside areas.
The rapid rate of urbanization in growing regions test the capability of governments to effectively
design and run into the necessities of the rising numbers of city dwellers. As metropolis residents

novels written by Art Spiegelman which both make up a good story as well as attempt to understand

them, to befriend them and even master them. The story explores the nature of guilt, while exploring
traumatic events of the Holocaust through a survivor. This graphic novel also explores the impact of
the Holocaust and how it affected the lives of people who were born after it ended. Once reading

The first Supreme Court case that I listened to was one brought forth in front of the Warren Court in

The statutes were being challenged on the due process clause under the Fourteenth Amendment and
the First Amendment regarding the Freedom of Speech. At the time of this case it was illegal to sale or

At the beginning of the oral argument the appellant s lawyer, Thomas I. Emerson was asked if the case
was an equal opportunity case. He verbally stumbled and was delayed with his response to the Judges.
The Judges asked several times why it was not being argued as an equal opportunity case due to the
distinction that only married women received treatment and counsel from the Planned Parenthood

Emerson stated the history of the case in order to paint his picture to the Judges. Mrs. Griswold did not

Dr. Buxton. The clinic was only open for ten days when the two appellants were arrested and charged
for the counsel and distribution of contraceptives to married women, at which time the clinic was

Key Characters In King Schariar And His Brother
Through the presentation of the central characters and subtle yet clever methods of telling the story
and conveying its themes are some of the key reasons King Schariar and his Brother is so engaging to
all its readers, and perhaps why it has stood the greatest centuries long test of time.
Firstly, the character of King Schariar, the namesake of the story: We are first introduces to him in the
context of being his father s son, who was one of the best monarchs of his time . The state of the
Sassanidae dynasty is said to be prosperous , powerful and all the King s subjects peaceful and
content, supportive of their monarch. The future King Schariar and his brother, Schahzeman, are very
close and affectionate to one another, so much so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows in his dialogue with the grand vizir, wherein he utters almost nothing but threats of
violence. The stark contrast between who the Sultan once was with who he has become is so colossal
and near unbelievable it implores us to carry on reading, especially as Scherazade enters the picture.
Our first grasp at who Scherazade is comes through the voice of her , the grand vizir. She is beautiful,
rich and highly educated, so naturally we would expect her to behave as most other women of her
stature would snotty and spoilt. Only she is the furthest thing from. We see her spark of courage and
perseverance in the conversation she has with her father. Her words are polite, reverent, imploring him
to grant her wish, as opposed to begging or demanding. In this, we learn of her linguistic aptitude, her
ability to bend the will of those whom she speaks to whatever she wants. She is powerful in her words
and her wit powerful in the same way Schariar is with his corrupt violence.
The parallels and contrasting juxtaposition between Scherazade and King Schariar are intriguing,
since they are such different people. Their skills in manipulation equal each other in strength, yet their
motives and platform for that power does not. As I have mentioned before, Scherazade achieves her
power through her words, Schariar through exploiting his royal standing as King. This comes out in
the narration: We see very little of Schariar verbally commanding or

Narrative Essay About My Black Jacket
I threw my books on the bed, but i didn t see the leather jacket I expected to see, i saw a guacamole
colored jacket laying on my bed, i approached the jacket slowly and as I sit down looking at the ugly
jacket, I heard my mom yelling up to me your jacket is in the closet. I pop off the bed like a piece of
popcorn and ran to the closet I slammed the door open I went through all my clothes but I saw
nothing, I looked on all the shelves, all the clothes hangers. Nothing. As I walked away disappointed,
in the corner of my eye I saw something on the floor I picked it up and looked at it and in front of me,
I was holding and brand new leather jacket with silver studs and enough belts to hold down a small
town. I laughed in excitement and ran downstairs to give my mom a hug. Thank you so much , I
whispered in her ear. I ran back upstairs to find my brother in my room holding MY new jacket What
are you doing? , I said. Looking at my new jacket , he answered, I laughed hysterically, I took the
jacket out of his hands and replaced it with the guacamole colored jacket Have fun I said laughing.
What do you mean , he asked You asked for that jacket , I answered him, I walked out of the room,
and put my jacket on and looked in the mirror, I looked flawless, I sat down and when I looked in the
mirror all I could see was popularity and fame. I even combed my hair and i looked like I was an
official biker. I walked downstairs looking and feeling like royalty as I walked into

Heterosexist Discrimination In America
Americans live in a society that seems constantly plagued by various types of discrimination. For
instance, ableism, classism, and sizeism are a few examples of the sorts of systematic discriminations
that Americans face every day. However, as of late, one of the most prevalent forms that targets
homosexual minorities is Heterosexist discrimination. Heterosexism is defined as the discrimination
or prejudice against homosexuals ( Heterosexism ). In addition to being prejudiced and discriminatory,
Heterosexism is more often than not paired with the idea that heterosexuality is the normal sexual
orientation, and therefore superior. For the past couple of years, America has attempted to mend the
issues in our society that kept homosexual people

Vladimir Nabokov Symbols
Vladimir Nabokov tells a story of a mother, father, and son trapped in two different worlds. The theme
of the story is filled with darkness and misery. The son suffers from a rare form of paranoia called
referential mania. The son is trapped inside his mind at a local sanitarium, while his parents are
financially trapped at home. In Signs and Symbols, Vladimir Nabokov illustrates the theme of
darkness through conflict, imagery, and symbolism. Nabokov used conflict in the story to enhance the
theme. For example, the son is constantly conflicted with himself and his surroundings because he
believes that natural and man made objects are conspiring against him. He imagines that clouds
exchange detailed information about him and at night the

Hunters in the Snow Character Analysis of Tub Essay
Tub s Hardships
Being a man isn t always easy, for most of their life they are taught to show no affection and to be
tough in almost every situation. The tragedy of machismo is that a man is never quite man enough.
Hunters in the Snow , by Tobias Wolff, three hunting buddies, Frank, Tub and Kenny, set out on a
hunting trip together as they have done for years. Tub, who is over weight, self conscious and a good
friend, shows some of his weaknesses, strengths and hardships that are sometimes placed on men in
different situations. The protagonist, over weight, Tub and his two hunting buddies, Frank and Kenny
take off early one morning to the snowy mountains for a deer hunt. When they arrive and begin
heading to the woods they near a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s the way I feel about it (39). Despite how manly Tub is supposed to be as a man, the two men
have this special bond together and they show it. Tub then tells Frank, When I said that about my
glands, that wasn t true. The truth is I just shovel it in (40). Regardless being made fun of or picked on
about Tub s weight and clumsiness, Tub is yet a good listener and a great friend. Ironically, at the end
of the story the two guys, Tub and Frank, are bonding and supporting each other at the diner they stop
at to get warmed up before the hospital, even though their other friend Kenny is in the back of the
truck dying. Frank tells Kenny, It wouldn t hurt so much if you just stayed put. Now we re going to the
hospital. Got that? Say it I m going to the hospital (39). Once they leave the diner and are headed back
towards the hospital, Tub turns back to Frank, I just pulled a real boner, he said. What s that? I left the
directions on the table back there (39). A man having to be tough and to show no affection can
sometimes take a toll on their physical self being, yet they can also still be somewhat sensitive to
others emotions and feelings. In this short story by Tobias Wolff, Hunters in the Snow , Tub shows
some situations of strength, weaknesses and hardships men endure as a friend or

Hamlet Comparison Of Hamlet Movie
Comparison of 2009 Hamlet Movie Recreation and the Hamlet Novel
The Royal Shakespeare Company s Production of Hamlet, directed by Gregory Doran, portrays a
modern day version of the original play. Although a few scene and characters are cut out, it gets the
main storyline across with more humor, and for the most part pretty decent acting. The overall layout
of the movie leaves the watcher with much more feelings towards the characters, than the feelings one
gets from reading the book version. Hamlet is a tragic drama that leaves the viewer with so many
thoughts. It starts with the young grieving prince, Hamlet, whom is distressed from the news of his
father s death. Later he finds out his uncle, Claudius, also known as the present king, ... Show more

On the other hand, Ophelia, played by Mariah Gale, was way too dramatic and over played than
necessary. Her role in the movie should have been much less dramatized and should have been toned
down a little bit. As for Horatio, played by Peter de Jersey, his acting was just as expected he seemed
very sincere with his loyalty towards his friend and his acting was not too dramatic or under acted.
One of the last major actors, Laertes, played by Edward Bennett, was very nice, he over played some
parts in the movie but generally his acting corresponded to what should have been felt in the situations

What Is A Memorable Moment Essay
Memorable Moment Let us go, please. I yelled.
Ok where do you want to go? Mom asked.
To the Lake, so pack. I said
My mom, my sister Hailey ,and packed. I packed the cooler for the drinks and food. While I opened
the freezer, I saw all of the frost on the ice container and I saw fog come out of the freezer. As my face
got cooled I tried to get the ice container I put both arms in the freezer and reached and reached. As I
kept on reaching I felt all of the cold air go on my arms all the way down my legs. As I finally picked
up the large white, plastic, ice container I felt all of the frost on the box now on my hands. As I set the
container full of ice on the island. Then I finally lifted up the ice container and dumped the ice in the
cooler I put the container in the freezer. As my mom told me to watch Hailey while she goes to get
soda. I told Hailey to pack whatever she wants to pack. As Hailey was packing I was sitting there
listening to music on my phone. When I heard my mom pull in into the driveway and into the garage I
took of my headphones and packed the cooler into the enormous trunk. While my sister was getting
buckled into her carseat I got hers stuff and put it in the trunk. My mom and I got buckled and mom
pulled out of the garage and we were on the road in no time, but before we went to the lake we
stopped at Sara s Ice Cream Shop. I got a large root beer float while my mom got an Icecream cone
and so did my sister. 30 minutes later we have arrived at the lake.
As I stepped out of the car I could feel the blazing hot concrete. I ran to the cool relaxing water. My
mom took out the towels and the cooler out of the car and set our spot up on the smooth, dry, and
crunchy sand. As my 2 year old sister got her princess floaties on I saw a 10 foot cliff jump spot. As I
walked up the steep, slippery, and light green mossy rocks. As I got to the top I got nervous, at that
very moment somebody did a belly flop. While they did the belly flop I saw some pebbles fall of the
10 foot cliff. As I stepped up to the edge of the 10 foot it looked like a 15 foot cliff. As I jumped of the
cliff I did a cannonball, as I was doing a cannonball I felt all of the air blowing in my face, I opened
my mouth then

Most concerned buyers with crash safety ratings: I cannot say exactly this type of buyers are most
concerned with the crash safety ratings because all are concerned with their safety. Nobody wants to
risk their life. But for some extent there are some factors that impact on the importance of crash safety
ratings for different buyers and that are the age, education, geographical region of the customer, etc.
The customer living in the mountain region is most likely to prefer high crash safety rating cars as
compared to those living in plain region. Also, the customer who loves stylish cars may choose low
rating cars.

Essay On Robin Hood In Ayn Rand s Atlas Shrugged
Robin Hood is a hero outlaw of English medieval folklore who stole from the rich in order to give to
the poor. In Ayn Rand s landmark novel Atlas Shrugged, Ragnar Danneskjöld, one of John Galt s first
converts, says he wants to destroy Robin Hood, meaning he wants to destroy the philosophy of Robin
Hood as acted out by the looting government. Danneskjöld intends to be the man who robs the
thieving poor and gives back to the productive rich (576). The deeper moral meaning of Danneskjöld s
claim that Robin Hood is the one man he is out to destroy is that it is not right for the intellectually
poor to steal from the intellectually rich so that all can have equal opportunity at commercial success.
In the public minded spirit of Robin Hood, the looters thought that excessive wealth should be
distributed (shared) based on need and not merit. Further, to be a virtuous industrialist Robin Hood
was idealized as virtuous was better than to be a financially successful industrialist. As Jim Taggart
explained to Cherryl Brooks, If a man is unhappy, really, truly unhappy, it means that he is a superior
sort of person (265). Self accomplishment and then self sacrifice for the greater good was thought to
be the noblest life.
The looters had the mistaken notion that it was the country that gave Hank Reardon his Metal, rather

Rather than trying to make the looters understand through logic, as John Galt did in his radio
broadcast, that the Robin Hood philosophy won t work and isn t as fair and socially responsible as

goods with his own made up rules and regulations to support his/Galt s

War On Terrorism And Terrorism
War on Terrorism The most current and imminent threat to the future of the United States is foreign
terrorism, which occurs primarily outside the US territory, due to the increasing development in
weapons of mass destruction. Although, the US in the last two decades has seen an increase of terrible
acts of terrorism here in own country. These foreign and domestic entities utilize intimidation and
violence for their political gain or religious beliefs, by instilling fear in innocent lives. Terrorists also
utilize suicide bombing and cyber attacks in their trail of torment. The United States is a target of
these acts due to our magnitude and authority, and it is imperative that our Nations security is vigilant
and constantly prepared at a moment s notice to maintain our safety. Prior to September 11, 2001,
terrorist activity produced a wave of attacks on the United States marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983,
the World Trade Center in 1993, American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, and the USS
Cole in 2000 (397). Assassinating important individuals or small number of people was the focus of
early terroristic attacks. On September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center towers in New York buckled
after they were hit by an al Qaeda organization that seized the airplanes. Osama bin Laden, was the
leader of the militant Islamic terrorist group that lead the attacks. The group proceeded with one plane
that crashed into the Pentagon near Washington, D. C., and a fourth

It also was close to the border with the south during the civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states during the war. One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the Cincinnati Riots of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked the competition they received from the African American community in the area. Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get them to leave the area, leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left, while others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in 1836, this time attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery newspaper. A mob destroyed the press, throwing it out into the streets in attempt to deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish his newspaper. The Ohio river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the jordan river by conductors and passengers. It was common to talk in code using biblical names on the railroad and among conductors, such as calling Canada the promised land . • 3. John Dewey Philosophy A philosopher is known as someone who rationally investigates the truths and principles of being, knowledge and conduct (Howe , 2010). According to (Justarius, 2007), A philosopher looks at the world in wonder. He seeks the underlying meaning of things. He wants to understand it and codify it into a system of thought. Being a philosopher means to engage in the never ending quest for being fully and authentically human (Kimura, 2013). In the world today, there are many philosophers that have walked this planet. John Dewey is one of the most important Philosophers that has contributed his theory to the world. John Dewey was born October 20, 1859, in Burlington, Vermont. Dewey thought that people learn the best through experiences. He believed that learning was active and schooling unnecessarily long and restrictive. His idea was that children came to school to do things and live in a community which gave them real, guided experiences which fostered their capacity to contribute to society (Neill, 2005). Instrumentalism is a theory of knowledge created by Dewey in which ideas are seen to exist primarily as instruments for the solution of problems encountered in the environment. He thought knowledge could be falsified which needed to be consistently challenged and experimented on. He emphasized on inquiry based education (Bhuiyan, 2015). The British had a major impact on the educational system in Trinidad and Tobago. The system reflects the British colonial that once ruled the islands (Ali, 2015). • 4. International Standard For Quality Management Systems Introduction This document is an overview of the ISO 9001:2008 international standard for quality management systems developed by the International Organization for Standardization with the intent to give specific requirements to companies and organizations on methods to enhance customer satisfaction and meet statutory and regulatory requirements by improving effectiveness and performance of their quality management systems. The overview will cover the requirement, certification procedures and benefits of ISO9001 certification. History Quality management systems owe their basis to the the military industry. In fact the origins of ISO9000 series of standards dates back to fifties, during the development of a nuclear submarine in the US which had issues with contractors causing delays and quality breakdowns. As the result of the research of that project the foundations of quality management were developed and other important military standards were born such as NASA s and British Defence s quality management standards. In 1971 the British Standard Institute applied a QMS to electronics industry with the BS 9000 and, later on, in the manufacturing industry in 1979,publishing the BS 5750 from which the ISO9000 series of standard, published in 1987, is heavily based. After its revision in 1994 the ISO 9000 added separate ISO 9001, 9002 and 9003 standards for different industries becoming the reference quality management system standard in different nations and ... • 5. Persuasive Essay On Summer Camp Do you remember those hot summer days when you had nothing to do and your friends were nowhere to be found? Throughout time, countless American children go away to summer camps and have treasured this opportunity for a life time. I believe you should take the opportunity to go to summer camp, because you will spend the day making new friends, building self confidence, and becoming more independent. Many of us have had the chance to go to camp, creating lifelong memories that will be retold for generations. In my opinion, the first reason for going to summer camp would be for making new friends. As soon as you arrive to camp, everyone makes an agreement to respect each other and to get to know one another. The group starts off by planning to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Mary Meeker Biography Essay Born in the early 1920 s, Mary Meeker s father saw great potential in his creative little girl. He vowed to make sure she got to college, something which he had been unable to do. He fancied himself a business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect opportunity. Every new school brought another Intelligence Test and eventually Mary skipped a grade. Mary s sister who was learning disabled was often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the schools, causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or creativity and was often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and recognizing that she and her sister were at different ends of a spectrum, Mary vowed to advocate for the development of diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her father s hopes as she gained a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational Psychology and continued with post graduate studies. In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a related degree, and Mary accepted. She was immediately assigned to students with severe developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw upon. Eventually she motivated the children s creativity by dancing and singing for much of the school year. When Mary was re assigned, she got a Special Education Class and found that it had a ... • 12. Information Technology Issues And Procedures The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis, system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place. This enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the management approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates the operational, economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System analysis involves breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a detailed study on them. This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the system processes (Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where the system analysis logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process commences with the general design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then finally the detailed design process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the system data. Programmers then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows; where a system test run is done to identify and remove ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Roles and Influences of Media on Crime In the political world, media has both a positive and negative affect. The entertainment media influences our lives in consciously and subconsciously, day in and day out, playing a critical and constantly cultivating role in the criminal justice system and the conduct of politics. According to your standard Google search on the definition of the term, media is, the main means of mass communication (esp. television, radio, newspapers, and the Internet) regarded collectively. Broken down, this ultimately means that any means by which information is spread can be considered media. Even from the founding of the United States, freedom and active accessibility of press and media has taken a serious part in American politics. It would be difficult to imagine politics with out the accompaniment or presence of the media. The availability of political information through media resources has changed over time with the advancement of technology and overall globalization of our modern world. NASA picked Ham because he was the closest to human form so if something happened to him NASA would know so they could fix it if they were to send any humans into space (Life). She was a natural pacifist which she expressed even before converting to Catholicism. She worked for the Call which encouraged her picketing and strikes against social injustices. (57) Later, Dorothy also protested with women against suffragists in front of the White House and was arrested. During her time in prison, she got involved with a hunger strike which caused the demands to be met. (82) She had a strong will for the fairness of others. After analyzing them, she realized they are not lonely like she is because they are Catholic. They have a God to love and pray to. (106) Dorothy began to gain Catholic faith while she was in a common law marriage with an atheist anarchist named Forster. He disagreed with and discouraged her faith, but this didn t stop her. She found out she was pregnant with his child and wanted to baptize her in the Catholic church after she was born and later got herself baptized after working hard to learn religion. Forster left her for this. She chose God over man by this point. (140) This showed how important her faith was in her life. No Real Hero In Maus II The Impact Of Past Events On The Present: No Real Hero in Maus Maus I and Maus II are graphic novels written by Art Spiegelman which both make up a good story as well as attempt to understand the human condition, sort it out and put it in its place. Lynda Barry, the author of One Hundred Demons suggests that literature helps us to cope as if looking at our demons is a way to get to know them, to befriend them and even master them. The story explores the nature of guilt, while exploring traumatic events of the Holocaust through a survivor. This graphic novel also explores the impact of the Holocaust and how it affected the lives of people who were born after it ended. Once reading Maus I and Maus II, it becomes evident to the reader that there is no real hero in this story due to the existing impact of past events on the present. Connecticut The first Supreme Court case that I listened to was one brought forth in front of the Warren Court in 1965. The case of Griswold v. Connecticut is a very significant case regarding contraceptive use, counsel and advice with married couples. The case later played a great reference in the Constitutional rights for abortion. The Griswold v. Connecticut case went in front of the Supreme Court in March and was passed a few months later in June by a vote of 7 2 in favor of Griswold. Griswold was the Executive Director of a Planned Parenthood Clinic in Connecticut. The State of Connecticut charged her and her Medical Director, Dr. Buxton, for giving advice and medical ... He verbally stumbled and was delayed with his response to the Judges. The Judges asked several times why it was not being argued as an equal opportunity case due to the distinction that only married women received treatment and counsel from the Planned Parenthood Clinic. His only response was that was not the issue of this case. Emerson stated the history of the case in order to paint his picture to the Judges. Mrs. Griswold did not have a medical license, but was allowed to work under the umbrella of the clinic s Medical Director, Dr. Buxton. Key Characters In King Schariar And His Brother Through the presentation of the central characters and subtle yet clever methods of telling the story and conveying its themes are some of the key reasons King Schariar and his Brother is so engaging to all its readers, and perhaps why it has stood the greatest centuries long test of time. Firstly, the character of King Schariar, the namesake of the story: We are first introduces to him in the context of being his father s son, who was one of the best monarchs of his time . The state of the Sassanidae dynasty is said to be prosperous , powerful and all the King s subjects peaceful and content, supportive of their monarch. This shows in his dialogue with the grand vizir, wherein he utters almost nothing but threats of violence. The stark contrast between who the Sultan once was with who he has become is so colossal and near unbelievable it implores us to carry on reading, especially as Scherazade enters the picture. Our first grasp at who Scherazade is comes through the voice of her , the grand vizir. She is beautiful, rich and highly educated, so naturally we would expect her to behave as most other women of her stature would snotty and spoilt. Only she is the furthest thing from. We see her spark of courage and perseverance in the conversation she has with her father. Her words are polite, reverent, imploring him to grant her wish, as opposed to begging or demanding. In this, we learn of her linguistic aptitude, her ability to bend the will of those whom she speaks to whatever she wants. She is powerful in her words and her wit powerful in the same way Schariar is with his corrupt violence. The parallels and contrasting juxtaposition between Scherazade and King Schariar are intriguing, since they are such different people. Their skills in manipulation equal each other in strength, yet their motives and platform for that power does not. As I have mentioned before, Scherazade achieves her power through her words, Schariar through exploiting his royal standing as King. This comes out in the narration: We see very little of Schariar verbally commanding or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Essay On Robin Hood In Ayn Rand s Atlas Shrugged Robin Hood is a hero outlaw of English medieval folklore who stole from the rich in order to give to the poor. In Ayn Rand s landmark novel Atlas Shrugged, Ragnar Danneskjöld, one of John Galt s first converts, says he wants to destroy Robin Hood, meaning he wants to destroy the philosophy of Robin Hood as acted out by the looting government. Danneskjöld intends to be the man who robs the thieving poor and gives back to the productive rich (576). The deeper moral meaning of Danneskjöld s claim that Robin Hood is the one man he is out to destroy is that it is not right for the intellectually poor to steal from the intellectually rich so that all can have equal opportunity at commercial success. In the public minded spirit of Robin Hood, the looters thought that excessive wealth should be distributed (shared) based on need and not merit. Further, to be a virtuous industrialist Robin Hood was idealized as virtuous was better than to be a financially successful industrialist. As Jim Taggart explained to Cherryl Brooks, If a man is unhappy, really, truly unhappy, it means that he is a superior sort of person (265). Self accomplishment and then self sacrifice for the greater good was thought to be the noblest life.
