- Your working relationships… not the good ones vs the bad ones. It’s How you communicate with those you work with. Today it’s about your relationship as a Carrier with the state permit officials.
- Clear concise…keep it simple leave out the jargon and acronyms Listen to the response… ask questions to help clarify…don’t assume… reiterate what you heard. Don’t lose your cool… It’s stressful, step back, think big picture, collect your thoughts, data, empathize, reflect, think positive. Just like there can be conflicting body language with in person encounters… written emails have body language and can reveal more or less than you’d like. The phone has a tone…reduce as assumptions and misunderstandings. When was the last time you asked Make your parents proud, be the best you you can be…use manners, maintain professionalism, smile even when no one is looking
- reduce misunderstandings, earn respect, build trust, reduce negative emotions. give genuine compliments and thanks complain only when calm and collected Communicate difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust. Agreeing to Disagree is still effective communication because both groups listened, conveyed and understand what the other was saying. All I want to say and add to that is make the most of those conversations… do them calmly, politely, with respect, trust, and professional sincerity.
