The Treatment Of Cystic Fibrosis
I couldn t imagine what it would be like growing up with a life threating condition that has no cure.
Amanda Estep is a 21 year old, college student and also a close friend of mine who has been battling
Cystic Fibrosis since she was three years old. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition that causes mucus
to build up in the lungs and digestive system, making it hard to breath. Basically everything in my
body is thicker, so the mucus in my lungs is harder to break up and get out which causes frequent lung
infections. Amanda explained to me. Cystic Fibrosis also impacts her ability to digest food, resulting
in her being underweight most of her life. While I have known Amanda since kindergarten, we have
never talked in depth about how much she has to do to remain as healthy as possible. Hearing her
explain her story made me realize how lucky I am to be healthy, and that s something s no one should
take for granted. There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but Amanda shared some of the many
things she has to do in order to remain as healthy as possible. Some of those things includes being
hospitalized for two weeks four or five times a year, taking many medications, and knowing how hard
she can push herself.
Amanda s hospital visits started when she was three years old. Every few months Amanda has to go in
for what she calls a tune up . This is a two week, sometimes longer, hospital stay where she is
monitored, given antibiotics, and does at least four breathing

Self Assessment IIi And Vi
Self Assessment III and VI In self Assessment III the first sections talks about what type of
organizational system I would prefer. Organizational Structure is a system that defines the levels of
hierarchy within an organization. The organizational structure classifies each job, explains its function,
and who it reports to within the organization. Based on my scores they suggest I prefer to work in a
mechanistic structure rather than a organic structure. In a mechanistic structure people work separately
and specialize on only one task. Also within a mechanistic the hierarchy of authority is well defined.
The first section also measures my ability to delegate in the work place. According to my score I need
to substantial improve on my ability to delegate. Based on the analysis delegating authority are what
many managers have difficult doing. My ratio for being able to give feedback is a four out four. This
means my self perceived strength and weakness are equal, but I could work to improve ratio to be
more self perceived in strength. In the section labeled careers it indicates that I my preferred
organizational culture that informal, humanistic, flexible, and innovative culture. These traits fall
under humanistic culture even thought my other score suggested I prefer a mechanistic structure. It
also indicates that I m not that committed to my job since my score falls below the mean. This is ok
since not being committed to ones job is the new norm than it was

Big Data Is Not A New Technology
Evaluation
Big data is not a new technology, however applied to the rapidly growing and changing field of cyber
security, big data companies are finding new and emerging ways to use big data analytics to gain a
competitive edge (Emerging Trends in Big Data Analytsis for 2015, 2015). Big data analysis looks for
and utilizes the patterns extracted from large volumes of data. (Kantarcioglu, 2015). One of the
important uses of big data analytics is in the detection, discovery, and prevention of cyber security
threats. Big data analysis is also instrumental in the collection and analysis of the large volumes of
data collected from sensors embedded within smart grids (Bharathi, 2015). Many companies and
organizations in sectors such as electric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This information can then be used by potential employers in hiring decisions, or even by potential
romantic interests (Mansour, 2016).
How Big Data Analytics Can Be Used to Improve or Support Cyber Security Big data analytics shows
a number of promising applications to improve and support cybersecurity. No longer can companies
and organizations rely on traditional cyber security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and anti
virus software. One of the most obvious of these is in the early detection and prevention of cyber
threats. Using a visual analytic system, IT professionals can use software that will analyze large scale
high dimensional cyber security datasets containing logs of a million computers (Chen, 2015). This
analysis will help detect unexpected changes taking places in all areas of the data and identify
potential anomalies, and help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. Big data
analytics can not only help detect potential future cyber attacks, it can be used to help detect a breach
that is in progress (Kern, 2015). By applying machine learning techniques, new security events can be
identified based on historical patterns (Enhancing Cybersecurity with Big Data: Challenges
Opportunities, 2014). Documentation and prevention of cybersecurity attacks is another key

Phenylcyanamide derivatives can be readily prepared in...
Phenylcyanamide derivatives can be readily prepared in high yields from the corresponding anilines
[17]. The polymer of [Ag(4 NO2pcyd)]n have been prepared by adding of phenylcyanamide in
acetone to a solution of AgNO3 in water. The infrared data for the phenylcyanamide ligand and
polymer of silver(I) are listed in Table 1. The structure of [Ag(4 NO2pcyd)]n is shown in scheme 2.
The identification of C N vibrations is a very difficult task, since mixing of several bands is possible
in this region. Silverstein and Webster [18] assigned C N stretching absorption in the region 1382

The remaining mass of polymer at 800 °C is 44%. The inferior thermal stability of [AgL]n is due to
the presence of Ag N covalent bond in its structure.

Polymer
In this study, polymer of [AgL]n was immobilized onto the surface of a glassy carbon electrode
(GCE), which leads to the efficient electrocatalytic oxidation of Dibucaine and Naphazoline. The GCE
was previously tested in PBS buffer (pH = 3) before polymer were drop coated on it. It presented no
redox process in the potential range applied. The working electrode coated with polymer of [AgL]n
was immersed in the electrolyte solution for 20 min prior to the measurement to ensure the diffusion
of the solution to the interlayer space and permit better ionic exchange. The cyclic voltammograms
were recorded for Dibucaine and Naphazoline at modified electrode and are shown in Fig.4. As it can
be seen, at the surface of the modified electrode, oxidations of Dibucaine and Naphazoline are
irreversible processes. These results indicate that the electron transfer rate is quite slow. Such slow
electron transfer kinetics is due to the electrode fouling caused by the evidence of Dibucaine and
Naphazoline and their oxidation products.
In addition, at modified electrode, oxidation of these compounds resulted in a typical

The Greatest Causes Of The Scientific Revolution
The scientific revolution was a period of time where there was many improvements of life, technology
and understanding of the world around us. People began to realize that nothing was being achieved
when religion was the only answer to anything and realised that you can have a good life before death.
This resulted in a new lifestyle for civilians and a happier life. The fight for who was the cause of the
greatest effect of the Scientific Revolution is an ongoing debate. Today I will be breaking down many
people who put their foot forwards in a time of need and seeing who was the greatest. They will be put
into a bracket starting with eight people on each side and within four tiers of battles (tier one being the
first round of battles and tier four being the championship or fight for who had the biggest impact on
The Scientific Revolution) there will be announced a winner. In the first clash of philosophers in the
first tier we have Francis Bacon versus Robert Boyle. These two were matched together because of
their involvement in early science. Francis Bacon was the developer of the Scientific Method, which is
one of the most commonly used ways to figure anything out. Robert Boyle helped advance some
things, but my verdict is that overall Francis Bacon was more successful in long term advancements so
he wins. The next matchup of the first tier is Robert Hooke versus Joseph Priestly. They were matched
together because of their significance of their discoveries, and how they

Activism In The Hunger Games
Today is Martin Luther King Day. Martin Luther King Junior was highly known for his activism
during the Civil Rights Movement. In his final Mountaintop speech, he proclaimed, The nation is sick.
Trouble is in the land; confusion all around. That s a strange statement. But I know, somehow, that
only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. And I see God working ... in a way that men, in
some strange way, are responding. Something is happening in our world. The masses of people are
rising up. (1) Martin Luther King Junior was a symbol of hope for equality for the oppressed, peace
for the nation, and most of all, love, for all people. This is a similar theme found in Mockingjay. As

She volunteered to take her sister s occupation as a tribute for the 74th Hunger Games not because she
was attempting to be a heroine. However, this move was what catapulted her into various tiers of
activism. Her climatic activism occurred in Mockingjay. Everything she went through led her to a
place where she felt no option but to fight for equality, peace and love for her people. She battled for
complete equality for all 13 districts of Panem, sacrificed herself as a whole for others safety, and in
the resolution, she gave hope for the freedom to love. As the Hunger Games trilogy draws to close,
Katniss finally embraces the tender future ahead. She might have felt like Martin Luther King Junior
when he said, Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate;
only love can do that. If you can t fly then run, if you can t run then walk, if you can t walk then crawl,
but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty,
we are free at last.

The Travels Of A T Shirt
Answer 1 The Travels of a T shirt in the Global Economy focuses on a t tshirt that makes its way
around the world from the beginning stages of production to the end of its usefulness. Pietra Rivoli, an
economist and the author of the book, tracks the life story of her t shirt and explores the relationships
between people, politics and markets. The book is broken down into four parts: King Cotton , Made in
China , Trouble at the Border and My T shirt Finally Encounters a Free Market . Each part explains a
different step of the t shirt process. In the first part of the book, Rivoli looks into the first step of
making a t shirt which is growing the cotton. This part of the book explains the history of cotton
development which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rivoli, the author, educates her readers about global trade and the textile industry and reveals the truth
behind global trade and economy by bringing to light the good and the bad. Rivoli states, a story of the
wealth enhancing possibilities of globalization in some settings but a can t win trap in others, a trap
where power imbalances and poorly functioning politics and markets seem to doom the economic
future. To put it simply, politics and wealth have a huge effect on globalization and global trade. In
addition, Rivoli also explains why free markets are not actually free. Protectionism, politics and labor
issues restrict those markets from being free. Using an everyday item as a t shirt to tell the story of
globalization, the book explains the competitive advantage of different industries, examines the global
economic and political forces and highlight the importance of human elements in international trade.
Answer 3 Rivoli is not arguing for either free trade or protectionism. This is because she is an
economist who already supports free trade; however, she also believes that both free trade and
protectionism have their advantages. Rivoli greatly emphasizes the ridiculousness of the regulations,
tariffs, quotas and other restrictions that have been put into law to protect the textile

Why Is Blanche Lost
When Blanche says that she could become lost, this suggests that she is trying to convince Mitch that
she is both a good girl and someone who loves him. When Blanche was sixteen, she met and married
Alan. When Blanche is said that she could become lost , this suggests her conscious decision to not
fall in love with Mitch. The lost feeling that Blanche is afraid to achieve stems from her previous
relationship with Allan. When she was sixteen Blanche fell in love with a the boy named Allan and the
two eventually married. Not long into their marriage, Blanche found her husband in bed with another
man but kept it quiet. After Blanche told her husband she knew about the affair he ended up

This thought can be logical because she herself stated that she does not want to be alone and end up
being lost. It is suspected that to keep herself from falling for someone, during the time before she

to think that Blanche hardened her shell and did not care about what she did with her life or who she
fell in lust with. While working as a teacher in Mississippi, Blanch had many affairs at The Hotel
Flamingo and is thought to have been with many guys. Blanche having affairs at the hotel suggests
that she had some fear of insecurity with relationships and having intercourse with the men is how she
took care of that fear. During her affairs at The Hotel Flamingo and while working as a teacher,
Blanche had an affair with a student at her school. After having the affair and the school finding out,

A Worn Path By Eudora Welty Analysis
A Worn Path Eudora Welty
This story is about perseverance no matter how hard things may be. A worn path is a story about an
African American woman, Mrs. Jackson, who makes a hard trip into town to get medication for her
sick grandson. This story is very relatable for me personally because I have always had to dig deep
and push though tough situations to achieve my goals. Mrs. Jackson s main goal was to get medication
for her grandson to make him healthy again. This story shows that is you care about someone or
something enough then you will do anything for them. Mrs. Jackson reminds me a lot of my Nana
because she is a strong woman that would literally do anything for me. She has taught me that life is
about enjoying the little things in life, like the paper windmill. Phoenix Jackson didn t have the cream
of the crop, but she did her best to provide for her family. For most people in the world today things
are very easy, but that doesn t mean that the struggles are not real for others.

Presidential Elections
Introduction
The presidential elections of United States of America take an indirect form where citizens of the U.S
who are registered as voters in one of the states in U.S which are usually 50 states, or the District of
Columbia, cast ballots for Electoral College members, referred to as electors. These electors then in
turn cast direct votes known as electoral votes in their respective state capitals for president and vice
president positions of the United States. Each states casts as many electoral votes that is equal to the
number of its Senators and representatives in Congress, while in Washington, D.C. they cast the same
number of electoral votes as the least represented state, which is three. The day when registered voters
cast their ballots is called the Election Day. This paper is going to generally discuss the presidential
elections history, an outline of the process of the process of presidential elections, constitutional
requirements for presidential candidates in the U.S, presidential nominations, general elections
campaigning, Electoral College and lastly inauguration.
To begin with, the founding fathers of the United States came up with a democratic system in which
the American people had the power and responsibility to choose their leader, unlike Britain where
leadership was monarchical. George Washington was the first president of the United States of
America to be elected under this new order, which

The Competition Of The Construction Building Supply Industry
The competition in the construction building supply industry is very strong on a local and regional
level, and moderate on a national level. Sales in 2014 of the top fifty eight U.S. building material
suppliers who are similar to BLDR in product offerings totaled 18.7 billion dollars (Webb, 2015b),
and BLDR s share of this is over thirty percent. BLDR s closest competitor, BMC STOCK Holdings,
Inc. (BMC) is only half its size, however holds vast national presence and is closest in product
offerings, making BMC BLDR s chief competitor. 84 Lumber Company is within BMC s sale volume,
however is regionally concentrated towards Eastern U.S. markets. Finally, US LBM Holdings, LLC
holds national presence, however utilizes a hands off approach from corporate, by marketing multiple
local and regional storefront brands, which weakens strategic initiatives at a national level. Table 1
compares BLDR s three main competitors.
Currently, competition for providing pre cut framing systems is relatively low. BLDR is into its
second year of its test market, and BMC is only starting its second year of national marketing efforts
for its pre cut framing systems, branded READY FRAME® (BMC, 2016). There are no other building
material suppliers offering this product on a national level.

Usually accompanied by queasiness, vomiting, and sensitivity to bright lights and sound, migraines
are a very common occurrence for most people. They can be brought on by any number of reasons,
but luckily, you can seek home remedy treatments to help alleviate the pain. Lavender Oil One of the
most effective home remedies is lavender oil which can be inhaled or applied topically. Place a drop or
two to every cup of boiling water, take it off the heat and inhale for a few moments. If you would
prefer to apply it topically, then it can be massaged directly without diluting it. Peppermint Oil

They help alleviate the pain that is associated with migraines, and they can be extremely helpful in
decreasing the duration as well as the frequency. Magnesium deficiency can also cause migraines so
be sure to include around 200 to 600 mg daily in your diet. It s great in preventing as well as reducing
their frequency. Massage Therapy Another great trick to try is massage. A simple DIY massage at
home can have a great soothing effect too. Just make sure you don t forget to massage the greater

Cat Dissection Lab
Introduction The goal of this lab was to dissect and isolate the muscles and organs of a cat. Dissection
is the act of cutting into a specimen to learn the anatomy of it upon other things. Isolation is the act of
separating one body part from another. The groups were to explore different areas of the cat as a class.
After observing for six days the students were to know the locations of muscles and organs throughout
the specimen. The anatomy of a cat is very similar to a human so it was a perfect example to work on.
Day 1 On day one the students were to isolate the following muscles: Acromiotrapezius,

Science Without Science Is Materialism
Bahá u lláh, the founder of the Bahá í faith, once said, Religion without science is superstition and
science without religion is materialism (www.bahai.org). Throughout history, mankind always strive
to seek answers to solve the perplexities of the world. For that, there is one question that provokes
everyone s curiosity: How was the world created? Young earth creationism is an example of where
science explains natural phenomenon that enabled life to establish and where faith explains that an
almighty being created the world through wondrous works. As of today, it is still a debate that
continues because of different conclusions of how the world came to be. In order to delve further into
the issue, insights from Plato, Francis Bacon, and Richard Feynman along with additional sources
clarify why people believe and support scientific ideas over religion. To identify factors that drive
people to believe why the world was created by natural and scientific forces instead of being made by
an almighty being, a various distinctions from science and faith must be made. According to the Bible,
it is written, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The
same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him; and without him was not
anything made that hath been made (Bible.com). Evidence suggests that a superior being over reigns
humanity. That being said, it is also suggesting that any achievements or depictions that mankind

How Did Swift Write Such Offensive Pieces Of Writing
Jonathan Swift What type of Irish/English gentleman could write such offensive pieces of writing?
Jonathan Swift could and did. Swift, a white Irish man move around to England then back to Ireland
many times during the 1700 s wrote many offending books and short stories. Growing up in Ireland
during the 1700 s Swift had a hard early life, later in life Swift wrote many great works such as
Gulliver s Travels, but he was criticised for using real politics and religion into his praised works of
literature.

The Relationship Between Mainstream Media on The One Hand...
In the past years, the matter of environmental issues has become a more and more debated topic of
interest for people all over the world. For example, according to Nisbet et. al (2007), in the U.S.A.
alone, the majority of the adult population is interested or very interested in regards to the state of the
environment. Due to the high development rate encountered by mass media in the past 20 years,
(reference), one may assume that this domain can be regarded as having had a (significant) influence
on people increasing their awareness on environmental issues. The aims of this paper are to provide
information on the manner in which mainstream media presents information on environmental matters
and to offer data on the strengths and weaknesses of mainstream media when relating to this topic.
Also, the essay will talk about written press and how this section of mainstream media presents the
public information on environmental matters. Apart from the above mentioned objectives that this
paper has set, it will also debate what consequences occur for an individual who uses mainstream
media and the press to obtain information on environmental issues from relying on official sources ,
such as the Government, scientists, NGOs . In addition, it will show how environmental groups try to
make usage of media to transmit their messages and ideas to as many people as possible. In order for

About half a year later, I found myself trying to get back into racing, but soccer got the best of me. I
ended up tearing the LCL in my right knee after being tripped in a game. The injury required surgery
to fix the tear so I could walk again and nine months of therapy to recover, costing about $25,000.
Over the period of absence from racing, I played soccer until 11th grade because I tore my IT band in
my hip and then competed on the bowling team my senior year. Over the years, I found myself a
stable job and began saving up. I always tried to distract myself from the thoughts of racing again, but
the passion was burning and I couldn t resist the temptation. This past summer, I drove to Old
Appleton, Missouri, to visit my friend Jared. While I was there Jared and I went to ride at a track
called Sky High since we used to race together when we were younger. Ever since that day, motocross
is all I can think about.. With the little free time I do have due to being in college and working full

say these put downs, it encourages me to train even harder and do everything I can to make sure I
never lose the thing I love again. Now, those people look at me and wish they knew what was going

relief from these children s parents could practically be heard from space. However, just as the polio

young children, to then become infected with Polio and be subjected to the harsh effects of the

My Discourse Community Analysis
Music has always been a thing that has interested me. The idea of people putting their talents together
to create something has always amazed me. Being in a discourse community like music is always
going to be difficult starting out. Working with others was never my strong suit, and all of the
preparation and studying stressed me out. It sucks to try very hard and have it all result in nothing. It is
the idea of perfection that everyone strives for. In my case, it is a group effort of the people involved
in my discourse community to achieve our shared goal. We strive to please ourselves and others

Since there is a concert we have to perform in a few months, it is especially important to work
together. In the lab portion of the class, the people who chose to do percussions meet up twice a week
and practice the piece we ve been working on. In order to communicate with each other, we all meet
up and practice together. We occasionally get emails from the professor telling us important dates and
lessons. We use those mechanisms of communication in order to slowly improve as a group. Between
our meetings and the emails, I think that the emails are the genre of the discourse community. While
meeting as a group is important, it can be difficult and confusing based on the person. The emails that
the professor sends are a genre because it is understood by everyone. They are useful because of the
help they give students in the community, and it doesn t require a specific lexicon to know what is
being said. There aren t many rules for the class, but it there are hidden ones. They are mainly
common sense things like participate with the class, show up, and be on time. In the lab, it is
important to have the necessary vocabulary to understand the class. Language is a key component to
pass the lecture course. If you don t know the difference between adagio and allegro, it is difficult to
keep up with the class. Knowledge about music terms is completely necessary because it is all of the
things we re graded on. We were all required to know terms like dynamics, rhythm, and what is on a
staff. The goal in the lecture is to understand key concepts of music, in order to improve ourselves
when we play in the lab section of the class. In the community regardless of if we re experienced or
new to music, we all learn everything through practice and watching the professor perform. In the
lecture portion of the class, the main goal is to have knowledge about the terms in music. The class is

The price of $15 per month or equivalent in other regions, are a standard set by previous successful
developers within the market. The pricing structure provides foresight of future profits based on
subscription levels. Increased monthly subscriptions have become more unattractive as other
platforms for massive multiplayer games have moved towards free to play gaming and focus their
revenue earning on selling in game items. Consumers have steadily started to consider other games
that have no cost to play. Free to play games have been known to rise quickly in subscriptions while
still generating revenue from frequent players. Repeat players often seek out premium items paid for
with cash. These items create a virtual market for virtual items and provide value by making them
premium items or services. Supply cost has decreased as technology improves and becomes cheaper in
price. Supply for this market is based on the server performance with high volumes of users; along
with, connection speeds for sending data back to users. Both of these variables are highly adjustable to
meet minimum requirements. When servers or connection speed lack in performance, these types of
games become affected by latency issues and make the game unplayable while online. Server
performance is critical in maintaining player satisfaction along with other attributes in the game

The Marketing Mix Of Marketing
Marketing is essentially the act of creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that
have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. There are many important components
of marketing, including the marketing mix. Generally, the marketing mix refers to the 4 P s, product,
price, place and promotion. Place is also referred to distribution, which is what will be discussed in the
subsequent sections. Alternative strategies relating to distribution will be presented, a final strategy
will be selected and the reasoning behind the choosing will be discussed. The alternative strategies
will revolve around marketing channel, direct and retailer. Distribution intensity, exclusive and
intensive along with channel intermediaries will be discussed in conjunction. Additionally, it should be
noted that this discussion of distribution revolves around a backpack that is to be targeted at Outdoor
Enthusiasts, in the simulation, Marketing Practice. It should be noted that intensive distribution was
not a considered strategy due to the inability to successfully apply this intensity in the simulation
given the target segment and product price.
A marketing channel is a set of interdependent organisations that facilitate the transfer of ownership as
products move from producer to consumer. There are different types of marketing channels, some of
which utilise channel intermediaries, which are individuals or firms that link producers to other

Causes And Effects Of World War II
Causes and Effects of World War II World War II has been considered one of the worst things to ever
occur in history. Violence, death and aggression took place in the 1930s and 1940s in certain European
nations. German leader, Hitler played an important, yet a very big role during this time. With the rise
and domination of fascism in Germany and Italy, the goal was to maintain peace, established by the
Treaty of Versailles ended up in major disaster. World War II began with the poor economic conditions
in Europe after World War I and the confrontation of clashing forms of governments and in the end it
brought about positive and negative changes of the world. World War II began on September 1st, 1939
when Germany invaded Poland; this invasion led to the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, The Great
Depression, and the Holocaust. World War II began when Germany invaded Poland when Hitler tried
convincing Britain and France that the invasion was a defensive act by bringing living space for the
Germans but Britain and France was not convinced. Hitler gave orders for the Poland invasion to

new treaty with Poland, promising military support should it be attacked. ( Germans Invade Poland. )

Strategic alliance always helps to keep pace with the growing competition and changing trends within
the market (Freeman 2010).
In recent years the importance of strategic alliance has grown rapidly as the organizations have felt the
need of keeping the hold over their respective market that seems to become extremely competitive due
to the rise of new entrants. Nowadays it has become a trend for different multinational companies to
increase and expand their business through effective strategic alliance. Centrica Plc is a multinational
utility company that has exceptionally strategized their alliances and diversified their business all
across UK and other countries. Nowadays the companies not only have alliance with the other
companies but also extend their alliances with the consumers, stake holders, investors, suppliers,
research centres and also with some universities. It can be said that the recent strategic alliance is
more complex in nature involving not only companies but also other resources which are very
important in regards to success. Present researches shows that with growing number alliances have
increased the opportunity of diversity have also increased. One of the common determinants is the
formal structure used to organize the cooperation. This topic has been the subject of numerous
researches and every time the alliance structure has been studied differently to analyse alliance

Stereotypes In Cinderella
Cinderella is one of the most well known fairytale around the world. It is a story about a girl who lives
with her step mother and her 2 step sisters, she is not treated with respect, more like a servant. She
mets the prince, and then ultimately he saves her from her step mother. Cinderella highlights key
issues with gender roles and stereotypes. It suggests when determining a woman s worth, it is based on
their physical appearance, not on other aspects of them, such as personalities or beliefs. These ideas
are clearly evident in sections of the film when Cinderella is determined as ugly because of her
original rag like clothing, this idea changes when she is dressed in her ball gown, because of this the
prince falls in love with her.

Analysis of Cancer
Cancer The Enemy Within
Abstract: Cancer has been known and feared since antiquity, but its imperative danger could only be
realized until fairly recently. Indeed as knowledge of the disease grew in the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries, fear increased when people became more aware that most cancers had no available cure.
Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells reproduce without control, destroy healthy tissue, and
eventually cause deterioration to the body. This paper is a discussion on how cancer develops and
spreads, some of the various types of cancer, and the causes of the disease.

Sarcomas are cancers that begin in connective tissue. These tissues form the body s supporting
structures, such as bone and cartilage. The great majority of cancer cases are carcinomas. They include
most cancers of the skin and the breast as well as of digestive, reproductive, respiratory, and urinary
systems. Sarcomas also occur in all of these organs and systems but are far less common.
Scientists do not know exactly why cancer develops, but they have found that certain agents play an
active role in causing the disease. Most experts agree that people develop cancer mainly through
repeated or prolonged contact with one or more cancer causing agents, called carcinogens.
Carcinogens attack normal cells and may eventually cause one of them to become cancerous. Some
carcinogens are introduced into the body through the nose, mouth, or some other opening. Other
carcinogens attack the body through the skin. Many cancers are caused by a combination of 2 or more
carcinogens rather than by a single one.
Laboratory tests and population studies indicate that two main groups of carcinogens can cause cancer
in human beings. This groups consist of various chemicals, and certain forms of radiation. Some
examples of chemical carcinogens include the tars in tobacco smoke, certain industrial chemicals,
certain unnatural food chemicals and also various chemicals used in drugs. Radiation, on the other
hand, produces cancer in people who are exposed

A Comparison Of Glaciers
Glaciers and icecaps can be easily mistaken in a common conversation but there are many similarities
but there are big differences that classify them as two different things.
A glacier is a body of dense ice that is formed in areas where the amount of snowfall exceeds the
amount of snow melted per year such as: Greenland, Antarctica and Russia. It forms when snow
accumulates in one specific area over many years, possibly centuries. The snow slowly forms into ice
and each year the layer of ice increases depending on the temperature. When the glacier becomes large
and heavy enough the pressure from the weight of the glacier often deforms the glacier, Which usually
causes the glacier to get new feature such crevasses and seracs. Most glaciers

The Crime Of Serial Killers
Serial killers are everywhere, all around you and those you know and love. Although the average
estimated count is thirty to fifty, it has been estimated that as many as two hundred of these maniacs
are active throughout the entire United States at any given moment. Some people claim to have a
pretty good idea of that which surrounds serial murder. Who are these deranged beasts which cause so
much terror and commotion? By definition, serial killers are men or women who have taken the lives
of at least three victims over an extended period of time. However, those words do not even come
close to properly expressing the complexity of a psychopathic, homicidal mind. Most killers murder
merely for pleasure, rather than for profit. There are a plethora of negative influences that help to push
a potential killer over the edge. For example, western society s culture puts emphasis on sex and
violence. Those who grow up in such an environment often become desensitized to these things and
lose compassion for victims of even the most gruesome crimes. This inevitably does not mix at all
well with inclinations to kill. Usually, the victims of serial murder are strangers chosen based on the
difficulty of manipulating the person and vulnerability. Young runaways and prostitutes are
subsequently most frequently targeted, as history has shown that there is little public outcry
concerning the deaths of those types of people. Additionally, even though the patterns among killers

In solving this issue, the group should be more open to new ideas. My initial motivation towards the

not see the need to be intrinsically motivated when my contribution to the group during the first
presentation was totally discarded. The need theory wasn t properly taken into consideration in my
group as some people didn t care to know about what motivates others in the group. There were some
elements of the free rider effect because of some people feeling that their input to the group was the
best and no order input can be better than what they have offered. Carrying fellow group members
along, making them have a sense of responsibility and not always treating their contribution as not

people will expend energy if they think it will pay off so despite all my negative observations about

The Aspects Of My Future Life Goals In My Life
How you ever sat down and just put any thought into what are some things you wish you could

One thing I wish I could change was the day I broke my mom s heart. I was still in high school, when
I decided I should move out and live with my brother. My mom and I have never really had a great
relationship with each other. With me always lying to her about where I was, who I was with, and
what I was going to do. It was always constant arguing and disagreeing on everything. One day, we
just really got into it and she told me my roof, my rules so that is when I told myself, Yup, I need to
just pack my bags and leave tonight, that will fix everything. and without thinking that s what I did. I
waited until my mom and dad went to sleep and just left without them hearing. I had left a note and
told my mom I was leaving the house because I was tired of her, her rules, and our relationship. That
next morning my mom called me and sounded really upset and hurt. Making me start feeling bad and
having regrets. After having time to think, I realized I am just a brat, and take everything for granted. I

And Symbolism In Sweetheart Of The Song Tra Bong, By OBrien
Imagery, detail, and symbolism play a crucial role in this work. Imagery has the function of painting a
picture of the situation in the reader s mind so that he or she is able to develop a version of the story
individually. It makes the reading a more personalized experience that helps the reader to understand
what s going on. When O Brien was just about to escape to Canada to avoid being drafted, he
described the scene that was presented in front of him. The shoreline was dense with brush and timber.

The sewage field that Kiowa died in was very graphic at times because O Brien used lots of imagery
to describe it. As a whole, the field represented the worst parts of the war. It consumed whoever
entered it and eventually took O Brien s best friend. It came full circle when later in life, he returned
to the exact same field and buried Kiowa s moccasins in the marshland. Metaphors and comparisons
are extremely important to the flow of the work and how each story is connected with each other.
During this work, O Brien keeps a casual tone. It sometimes gets more formal and serious, but for the
most part, it s friendly and almost playful. When he is describing the conversations he had with his
friends, he looks back on them with happiness. Consequently, when he is describing the death of one
of his friends, his tone gets more somber and less playful. For example, the entire chapter of Stockings
is devoted to describing the soldier Henry Dobbins and an interesting knack of his. Even now, twenty
years later, I can see him wrapping his girlfriend s pantyhose around his neck before heading out on an
ambush. This cute, two page chapter provides a bit of relief after the chapter about Mary Anne Belle.
It has light connotations and is a generally funny short story. Later in the book, however, he gets more
serious when talking about the death of his dear friend Kiowa. He

While many individuals have made significant contributions to psychoanalysis and the field of
psychology, Sigmund Freud has consistently been referred to as the father of psychoanalysis.
Moreover, his contributions came at a time where mental health treatment was highly primitive and
clinicians lacked insight and awareness about mental health treatments. However, because Freud s
native language was German, some individuals would argue that the true essence of his theories, ideas,
treatments, and concepts were lost once his books, papers, etc. were translated into English and other
languages. Specifically, Bettelheim (1983) explained his perspective about why Freud s work, in his

Neoliberalism In Latin America
Neoliberalism was a new version of liberalism that existed after the events of the Cold War. The
people who practiced this modern philosophy of liberalism, Neoliberals, emphasized on free trade,
export production, and comparative advantage. Neoliberalism took over Latin America in the 1990s
after nationalism had died down. Neoliberals also sold off or privatized the state run corporations and
public services created by the nationalists of Latin America. They also slashed the import tariffs
established by the nationalists and deregulated capital flows. One of the social consequences of
neoliberal reforms in Latin American countries involved the dismantling of bureaucracies. This
dismantling meant unemployment for millions of people. Those who were still employed were left
with inadequate incomes, but the result was a high rate of poverty. Social classes were difficult to
define however, those in the middle class benefited the most out of the social classes. The distribution
of wealth in these Latin American countries was unfair, especially in Chile where the distribution of

Fixing the environmental problems was very expensive, and factories were allowed to pollute, which

Both Physicians And Patients Rely On The Pharmaceutical
Both physicians and patients rely on the Pharmaceutical industry to adequately provide medication to
address public health concerns ranging from depression to obesity, to name a few. An increased
reliance on medication leads to the creation of one of the largest and most profitable pharmaceutical
corporations to exist across the world. However, because pharmaceutical companies profit from the
drugs they sell, they have incentives to influence the public into buying the drugs they produce; the
main objective of pharmaceutical companies then becomes primarily to maximize profits through the
selling of drugs, while disregarding the well being of the population (Moynihan and Mintzes 2010, 2).
Thus, Pharmaceutical drug marketing leads to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way, many commercials promote the quick and easy digestibility of the pill/quick relief, which
allows them to serve as ideal consumer items (421). The following ad of Alka Seltzer exemplifies the
easy ingestibilty/immediate relief of the pill: Down, down, down the stomach...with Alka Seltzer you
re sure to say, relief is just a swallow away (421). Hence, the pills embody healing potencies, which
leads people to get prescriptions from doctors because they believe they have similar symptoms to
illnesses portrayed in advertisements. As Leder and Krucoff talk about the role of pills in the public
imagination, from what I understand, they are referring to how through the media/advertisements, the
pill becomes an accepted means to cure virtually any illness, in other words it medicalizes all of life s
ills. For example, many individuals take pills for the duration of their lives either through multi
vitamins, B complex vitamins, and so forth because advertisements dictate that following a vitamin
rich regime will prevent future health problems. While, the aim of the article, is not to demonize all
pills, the effectiveness of pills is not mentioned.
Aside from media central marketing tactics, in Big Bad Pharma..., Amanda Connors argues that
pharmaceutical marketing tactics also operate through their free sample distributions in order to

Unlawful Immigration Has Been A Generally Examined Topic
Unlawful immigration has been a generally examined topic in legislative issues in the US. Some argue
that immigrants are important as they take the employments Americans don t wish to take, and that
they later ought to be offered authorization to remain in the nation. Others nonetheless, are of the
sentiment that they ought to be extremely punished seeing as what they are doing is illicit, arguing that
the illegal workers are taking endlessly occupations from Americans and not paying their duties. In
spite of the fact that there are arguments supporting the claim that undocumented immigrants ought to
be punished, there are numerous counterarguments for why they ought to be permitted to remain.
Illegal migration movement has achieved such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Illicit immigrants originate from another nation, so financial issues can emerge when there are excess
measures of emigration. Such a pattern can destabilize outside nations and diminish the ability of U.S.
firms to fare products to those countries. In 2010, the normal unlawful immigrant family unit receives
around $24,721 in government advantages and administrations while paying some $10,334 in taxes.
This produced a normal yearly financial shortage (benefits got less expenses paid) of around $14,387
per family unit. This cost must be borne by U.S. citizens. Under current law, all illegal immigrant
family units together have a total yearly shortfall of around $54.5 billion.
In addition, at the government level, around 33% of costs are coordinated by tax accumulations from
illegal immigrants. At the state and neighborhood level, a normal of under 5 percent of general society
costs related with illicit immigration is recovered through taxes gathered from displaced aliens. Most
illegal immigrants don t pay wage taxes. Among the individuals who do, a significant part of the
incomes gathered are discounted to the displaced people when they record government forms. With
many state spending plans in deficiency, policymakers have a commitment to search for approaches to
decrease the monetary weight of illicit migration. California, confronting a spending deficiency of
$14.4 billion in 2010 2011, is hit

John Locke s Tabula Rasa
In John Locke s Tabula Rasa, he theorizes that every human is born as a blank slate, with society and
life experiences imprinting themselves to shape that person to who they are today. Society has a social
hierarchy that is instilled in every one of its followers, a pyramid with the ruler on top and the
obedient followers on the bottom. Pride may cause some to feel that they can climb the pyramid, to
reach the point where they are not in the shadows of their superiors and to bask in the light of power.
This is true even at the beginning of time with divine beings, such as Satan and God. Writer and poet
John Milton investigates this climb in his work and within himself as a person. John Milton
demonstrates his subservience towards God while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Milton is also characterized in this epic, in his role as a humble servant in God s eyes and as a haughty
superior over other authors. There are many parallels in Milton s life and the epic, which enforce the
dichotomy of darkness in Satan and the light in God and the power of hierarchy in mankind and in
nature. Milton connects them together, signifying that one has the light and the freedom that it brings
when obeying the most superior, God. While Milton contains prideful darkness in himself, but he
humbly requests for God to shine His purifying light, signifying the power that light has over
darkness. While Adam may have fallen from Paradise, all hope is not lost. Forgiveness caused Milton
s inner light to shine in his work and Jesus to come down to save mankind. When readers realize this,
the story of Paradise Lost becomes more alive and important in their lives. That is the dream of a great

Abigail Adams Women s Rights Essay
Although a women during the time of the American Revolution, Abigail Adams was able to
accomplish a great deal that makes her fit to be a founding father. She was a great activist for women s
rights, as well as an abolitionist. She was the unofficial advisor to her husband, John Adams, who
served as Vice President and President of the United States.
Abigail was the first women to serve as Second Lady of the United States from 1789 to 1797, and the
second women to serve as the First Lady from 1797 to 1801. She is also the mother of the sixth
president, John Quincy Adams. She came from the prestigious lineage of the Quincy family on her
mother s side, and from congregational ministers on her father s. (Abigail Smith Adams) Adams had
no formal education, like most women of her time, but she loved to read, and educated herself through
literature. She met her husband, John Adams, through their shared love of literature and married in
1764.
After their wedding, John and Abigail Adams moved to his farm in Braintree, Massachusetts, and John
practiced law nearby. She gave birth to her first child almost exactly nine months after their wedding,
so she was a mother from almost the very beginning. She bore two daughters and three sons, and
because of this, stayed home when John Adams was elected a delegate to the Continental Congress.
During this time, Abigail and John Adams exchanged over a thousand letters that discussed her life
during the Revolution. (Abigail Adams) The letters

The Hobbit Character Analysis
The Hobbit is a fantasy novel, by J.R.R. Tolkien that tells the story of an unexpected story. Rather than
being about a main character who is brave and noble, this story is about Bilbo Baggins, a predictable,
mild mannered hobbit. He lives in his cozy home and avoids anything out of the ordinary until he is
presented with the opportunity of an adventure with Gandalf the wizard along with 13 dwarves. The
goal is to take back the homeland of the dwarves from the dragon, Smaug, who has attacked and taken
over. The journey entails mountains, forests, and creatures such as trolls, goblins, elves, and more.
And even though no one sees much potential in the seemingly weak hobbit, Gandalf sees traits of a
hero within Bilbo. This journey results in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point in the novel, the narrator describes, On they went, Gollum flip flapping ahead, hissing
and cursing; Bilbo behind going as softly as a hobbit can (85). Once Gollum gets angry, Bilbo slips on
the ring and becomes aware of its power invisibility. He takes advantage of this and follows Gollum
until navigates his way back to the dwarves. This demonstrates Bilbo s cleverness because it shows his
ability to quickly read a situation. He has to think on his feet and independently if he is to return to the
others. Bilbo has never been put in a situation where he has to quickly think on his own quite like this,
so clearly, he has exhibited cleverness which has commenced his transformation. Through his
experience in Mirkwood, Bilbo exhibits selflessness, which continues his transformation. In this
episode, Bilbo and the dwarves enter the dark forest of Mirkwood and encounter giant spiders they
have to fight off. The spiders entrap the dwarves in their silk, leaving Bilbo (with the ring) to find a
way to save everyone. Bilbo shows his selflessness at this point when the novel says, Bilbo saw that
the moment had come when he must do something. (159) and then later continues to say, In this way,
[Bilbo and Fili, who he had just rescued] rescued Kili, Bifur, Bofur, Dori, and Nori (162). This shows
Bilbo s selflessness because he s so determined to rescue the other dwarves and he once again has to

Essay on The Life of Konstantin Tsiolokovsky
Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857 1935) was a Russian mathematics teacher who in 1903 published the
Tsiolkovsky formula which is an equation that remains the basis of spacecraft engineering even today.
This formula established the relationships among rocket speed, the speed of the gas at exit, and the
mass of the rocket and its propellant. Tsiolkovsky also conducted theoretical work on the design of
liquid fuel rocket engineering which included the ideas of throttling capability and multi staging,
gyroscopes, escape velocities from the Earth s gravitational field, and the principle of action and
reaction. He paved the way for Sputnik I (the world s first artificial satellite) and the Vostok rocket
(the first of manned spaceflight). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1922, Oberth submitted a doctoral thesis on rocketry By Rocketry to Space for his Ph.D. degree
from the University of Heidelberg, which was also rejected. In 1923, he published his first draft of his
book, The Rocket Into Planetary Space . The Rocket Into Planetary Space introduced the idea of the
optimal velocity that minimises propellant consumption, and explained how rockets could escape the
Earth s gravitational pull. The book also described the details of liquid propellant engines and
calculated propellant exhaust velocities and from this explored the theory that rockets could operate in
a vacuum where they could travel faster than their own exhaust. Other ideas explored rocket staging,
film cooling of the engine walls, and strengthening the structure by pressurising propellant tanks. A
detailed design of a two stage rocket with extensive supporting engineering calculations was
presented. The rocket used liquid oxygen as an oxidiser. The fuel was an alcohol water mixture for the
first stage engine and liquid hydrogen for the second stage engine. The liquid oxygen with the alcohol
water mixture was used in the German A 4 (V 2) ballistic missile in the 1940s. He also suggested the
possibility of launching satellites into orbit (called observation stations) which could be used for
communications and for studying Earth from space in terms of surveying war operations and spotting

Observation Of Mars
Mars is about half the diameter of
Earth and, after Earth, its orbit is next furthest from the sun. Mars red appearance is due to dust blown
over its surface by light winds. Like
Mercury, it has little gravitational pull and a thin atmosphere without clouds, making it possible to
observe its surface from Earth using telescopes. In fact, in 1877, one astronomer observed what
appeared to be canals on the surface. This observation led to the widely held belief that there was life
on Mars.
The Mariner 4 mission was launched in 1964 and, after an eight month voyage to the red planet, the
spacecraft flew past Mars collecting the first close up photographs of another planet. The pictures,
played back from a small video recorder, showed lunar type

Descriptive Essay On Campus
Iowa State University offers a large campus. The campus itself entirely is around the size of my
hometown. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet spend
most of my time in my dorm. Whenever I am not in my dorm or in class though, I often find myself
wandering around campus. When wandering around campus I usually look for the best spots for me
just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are closer and very
appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many students visit them.
What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my dorm on campus. I live in the
Wilson Hall dormitory, known as one of the Towers, and it is quite far from the main campus. Seeing
as I walk everyday to and from the main campus to and from my dorm, I tend to walk the same route,
as to shorten the walk time it takes and be familiar with the area. On days I walk to my favorite spot,
which is the second concrete bench next to the Campanile, and I just sit there for hours and relax.
Wilson Hall s dining hall is called Storms, and is located maybe 80 100 yards North of Wilson. As I
leave through the North East exit of Wilson Hall, I cross the diagonal sidewalk running from Wilson
to Storm s East Entrance/Exit. I tend to eat supper at Storms, and as I exit through the same entrance, I
leave and grab an apple to eat along the way heading to the Campanile. I walk up Welch Street,

Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet
One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical
elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created.
The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other
works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the
popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection.
In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding
moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love
triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should
marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass).
However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is
rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass).
Much like The Selection, William Shakespeare s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, shows many of the
same characteristics. Juliet Capulet s predicament, paralleling America s, is that she was arranged to
marry a man named Paris, but she falls in love with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. The Treatment Of Cystic Fibrosis I couldn t imagine what it would be like growing up with a life threating condition that has no cure. Amanda Estep is a 21 year old, college student and also a close friend of mine who has been battling Cystic Fibrosis since she was three years old. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition that causes mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system, making it hard to breath. Basically everything in my body is thicker, so the mucus in my lungs is harder to break up and get out which causes frequent lung infections. Amanda explained to me. Cystic Fibrosis also impacts her ability to digest food, resulting in her being underweight most of her life. While I have known Amanda since kindergarten, we have never talked in depth about how much she has to do to remain as healthy as possible. Hearing her explain her story made me realize how lucky I am to be healthy, and that s something s no one should take for granted. There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but Amanda shared some of the many things she has to do in order to remain as healthy as possible. Some of those things includes being hospitalized for two weeks four or five times a year, taking many medications, and knowing how hard she can push herself. Amanda s hospital visits started when she was three years old. Every few months Amanda has to go in for what she calls a tune up . This is a two week, sometimes longer, hospital stay where she is monitored, given antibiotics, and does at least four breathing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Self Assessment IIi And Vi Self Assessment III and VI In self Assessment III the first sections talks about what type of organizational system I would prefer. Organizational Structure is a system that defines the levels of hierarchy within an organization. The organizational structure classifies each job, explains its function, and who it reports to within the organization. Based on my scores they suggest I prefer to work in a mechanistic structure rather than a organic structure. In a mechanistic structure people work separately and specialize on only one task. Also within a mechanistic the hierarchy of authority is well defined. The first section also measures my ability to delegate in the work place. According to my score I need to substantial improve on my ability to delegate. Based on the analysis delegating authority are what many managers have difficult doing. My ratio for being able to give feedback is a four out four. This means my self perceived strength and weakness are equal, but I could work to improve ratio to be more self perceived in strength. In the section labeled careers it indicates that I my preferred organizational culture that informal, humanistic, flexible, and innovative culture. These traits fall under humanistic culture even thought my other score suggested I prefer a mechanistic structure. It also indicates that I m not that committed to my job since my score falls below the mean. This is ok since not being committed to ones job is the new norm than it was ... • 4. Big Data Is Not A New Technology Evaluation Big data is not a new technology, however applied to the rapidly growing and changing field of cyber security, big data companies are finding new and emerging ways to use big data analytics to gain a competitive edge (Emerging Trends in Big Data Analytsis for 2015, 2015). Big data analysis looks for and utilizes the patterns extracted from large volumes of data. (Kantarcioglu, 2015). One of the important uses of big data analytics is in the detection, discovery, and prevention of cyber security threats. Big data analysis is also instrumental in the collection and analysis of the large volumes of data collected from sensors embedded within smart grids (Bharathi, 2015). Many companies and organizations in sectors such as electric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This information can then be used by potential employers in hiring decisions, or even by potential romantic interests (Mansour, 2016). How Big Data Analytics Can Be Used to Improve or Support Cyber Security Big data analytics shows a number of promising applications to improve and support cybersecurity. No longer can companies and organizations rely on traditional cyber security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and anti virus software. One of the most obvious of these is in the early detection and prevention of cyber threats. Using a visual analytic system, IT professionals can use software that will analyze large scale high dimensional cyber security datasets containing logs of a million computers (Chen, 2015). This analysis will help detect unexpected changes taking places in all areas of the data and identify potential anomalies, and help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. Big data analytics can not only help detect potential future cyber attacks, it can be used to help detect a breach that is in progress (Kern, 2015). By applying machine learning techniques, new security events can be identified based on historical patterns (Enhancing Cybersecurity with Big Data: Challenges Opportunities, 2014). Documentation and prevention of cybersecurity attacks is another key ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Phenylcyanamide derivatives can be readily prepared in... Phenylcyanamide derivatives can be readily prepared in high yields from the corresponding anilines [17]. The polymer of [Ag(4 NO2pcyd)]n have been prepared by adding of phenylcyanamide in acetone to a solution of AgNO3 in water. The infrared data for the phenylcyanamide ligand and polymer of silver(I) are listed in Table 1. The structure of [Ag(4 NO2pcyd)]n is shown in scheme 2. The identification of C N vibrations is a very difficult task, since mixing of several bands is possible in this region. Silverstein and Webster [18] assigned C N stretching absorption in the region 1382 1266 cm 1 for aromatic amines. In the present, the bands observed in the region 1300 1100 cm 1 in FT IR spectrum have been assigned to C N stretching vibrations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The remaining mass of polymer at 800 °C is 44%. The inferior thermal stability of [AgL]n is due to the presence of Ag N covalent bond in its structure. Scheme 2. Table1. Table2. Fig.1. Fig.2. Fig.3. 3.2. Electrocatalytic Oxidation and Determination of Dibucaine and Naphazoline Using Silver Polymer In this study, polymer of [AgL]n was immobilized onto the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), which leads to the efficient electrocatalytic oxidation of Dibucaine and Naphazoline. The GCE was previously tested in PBS buffer (pH = 3) before polymer were drop coated on it. It presented no redox process in the potential range applied. The working electrode coated with polymer of [AgL]n was immersed in the electrolyte solution for 20 min prior to the measurement to ensure the diffusion of the solution to the interlayer space and permit better ionic exchange. The cyclic voltammograms were recorded for Dibucaine and Naphazoline at modified electrode and are shown in Fig.4. As it can be seen, at the surface of the modified electrode, oxidations of Dibucaine and Naphazoline are irreversible processes. These results indicate that the electron transfer rate is quite slow. Such slow electron transfer kinetics is due to the electrode fouling caused by the evidence of Dibucaine and Naphazoline and their oxidation products. In addition, at modified electrode, oxidation of these compounds resulted in a typical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Greatest Causes Of The Scientific Revolution The scientific revolution was a period of time where there was many improvements of life, technology and understanding of the world around us. People began to realize that nothing was being achieved when religion was the only answer to anything and realised that you can have a good life before death. This resulted in a new lifestyle for civilians and a happier life. The fight for who was the cause of the greatest effect of the Scientific Revolution is an ongoing debate. Today I will be breaking down many people who put their foot forwards in a time of need and seeing who was the greatest. They will be put into a bracket starting with eight people on each side and within four tiers of battles (tier one being the first round of battles and tier four being the championship or fight for who had the biggest impact on The Scientific Revolution) there will be announced a winner. In the first clash of philosophers in the first tier we have Francis Bacon versus Robert Boyle. These two were matched together because of their involvement in early science. Francis Bacon was the developer of the Scientific Method, which is one of the most commonly used ways to figure anything out. Robert Boyle helped advance some things, but my verdict is that overall Francis Bacon was more successful in long term advancements so he wins. The next matchup of the first tier is Robert Hooke versus Joseph Priestly. They were matched together because of their significance of their discoveries, and how they ... • 7. Activism In The Hunger Games Today is Martin Luther King Day. Martin Luther King Junior was highly known for his activism during the Civil Rights Movement. In his final Mountaintop speech, he proclaimed, The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around. That s a strange statement. But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. And I see God working ... in a way that men, in some strange way, are responding. Something is happening in our world. The masses of people are rising up. (1) Martin Luther King Junior was a symbol of hope for equality for the oppressed, peace for the nation, and most of all, love, for all people. She battled for complete equality for all 13 districts of Panem, sacrificed herself as a whole for others safety, and in the resolution, she gave hope for the freedom to love. As the Hunger Games trilogy draws to close, Katniss finally embraces the tender future ahead. Pietra Rivoli, an economist and the author of the book, tracks the life story of her t shirt and explores the relationships between people, politics and markets. The book is broken down into four parts: King Cotton , Made in China , Trouble at the Border and My T shirt Finally Encounters a Free Market . To put it simply, politics and wealth have a huge effect on globalization and global trade. In addition, Rivoli also explains why free markets are not actually free. Protectionism, politics and labor issues restrict those markets from being free. Using an everyday item as a t shirt to tell the story of globalization, the book explains the competitive advantage of different industries, examines the global economic and political forces and highlight the importance of human elements in international trade. Answer 3 Rivoli is not arguing for either free trade or protectionism. This is because she is an economist who already supports free trade; however, she also believes that both free trade and protectionism have their advantages. • 10. A Worn Path By Eudora Welty Analysis A Worn Path Eudora Welty This story is about perseverance no matter how hard things may be. A worn path is a story about an African American woman, Mrs. Jackson, who makes a hard trip into town to get medication for her sick grandson. This story is very relatable for me personally because I have always had to dig deep and push though tough situations to achieve my goals. Mrs. Jackson s main goal was to get medication for her grandson to make him healthy again. This story shows that is you care about someone or something enough then you will do anything for them. Mrs. Jackson reminds me a lot of my Nana because she is a strong woman that would literally do anything for me. She has taught me that life is about enjoying the little things in life, like the paper windmill. Phoenix Jackson didn t have the cream of the crop, but she did her best to provide for her family. For most people in the world today things are very easy, but that doesn t mean that the struggles are not real for others. These electors then in turn cast direct votes known as electoral votes in their respective state capitals for president and vice president positions of the United States. Each states casts as many electoral votes that is equal to the number of its Senators and representatives in Congress, while in Washington, D.C. they cast the same number of electoral votes as the least represented state, which is three. The Competition Of The Construction Building Supply Industry The competition in the construction building supply industry is very strong on a local and regional level, and moderate on a national level. Sales in 2014 of the top fifty eight U.S. building material suppliers who are similar to BLDR in product offerings totaled 18.7 billion dollars (Webb, 2015b), and BLDR s share of this is over thirty percent. BLDR s closest competitor, BMC STOCK Holdings, Inc. (BMC) is only half its size, however holds vast national presence and is closest in product offerings, making BMC BLDR s chief competitor. 84 Lumber Company is within BMC s sale volume, however is regionally concentrated towards Eastern U.S. markets. Finally, US LBM Holdings, LLC holds national presence, however utilizes a hands off approach from corporate, by marketing multiple local and regional storefront brands, which weakens strategic initiatives at a national level. Table 1 compares BLDR s three main competitors. Currently, competition for providing pre cut framing systems is relatively low. BLDR is into its second year of its test market, and BMC is only starting its second year of national marketing efforts for its pre cut framing systems, branded READY FRAME® (BMC, 2016). Sarcomas also occur in all of these organs and systems but are far less common. Scientists do not know exactly why cancer develops, but they have found that certain agents play an active role in causing the disease. By definition, serial killers are men or women who have taken the lives of at least three victims over an extended period of time. However, those words do not even come close to properly expressing the complexity of a psychopathic, homicidal mind. Most killers murder merely for pleasure, rather than for profit. There are a plethora of negative influences that help to push a potential killer over the edge. For example, western society s culture puts emphasis on sex and violence. Those who grow up in such an environment often become desensitized to these things and lose compassion for victims of even the most gruesome crimes. This inevitably does not mix at all well with inclinations to kill. Usually, the victims of serial murder are strangers chosen based on the difficulty of manipulating the person and vulnerability. Young runaways and prostitutes are subsequently most frequently targeted, as history has shown that there is little public outcry concerning the deaths of those types of people. In solving this issue, the group should be more open to new ideas. My initial motivation towards the group was purely intrinsic but on the long run it became extrinsic (became all about results.) as I did not see the need to be intrinsically motivated when my contribution to the group during the first presentation was totally discarded. The need theory wasn t properly taken into consideration in my group as some people didn t care to know about what motivates others in the group. There were some elements of the free rider effect because of some people feeling that their input to the group was the best and no order input can be better than what they have offered. Carrying fellow group members along, making them have a sense of responsibility and not always treating their contribution as not worthy will solve the issue of the free rider effect in the group. As the expectancy theory suggests that people will expend energy if they think it will pay off so despite all my negative observations about the group, I was able to put all behind me because I wanted a very good outcome for the group. The end goal of achieving excellence in the project was also a motivating factor within the group which meant compromises had to be made to achieve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Or what changes you can do in the future to get to where you want to be? I m sure you have, and I m sure you have had regrets. I know I have, and here are some things I wish I could change and some of my future life goals both career and educational. One thing I wish I could change was the day I broke my mom s heart. I was still in high school, when I decided I should move out and live with my brother. My mom and I have never really had a great relationship with each other. With me always lying to her about where I was, who I was with, and what I was going to do. It was always constant arguing and disagreeing on everything. One day, we just really got into it and she told me my roof, my rules so that is when I told myself, Yup, I need to just pack my bags and leave tonight, that will fix everything. and without thinking that s what I did. I waited until my mom and dad went to sleep and just left without them hearing. I had left a note and told my mom I was leaving the house because I was tired of her, her rules, and our relationship. That next morning my mom called me and sounded really upset and hurt. Making me start feeling bad and having regrets. After having time to think, I realized I am just a brat, and take everything for granted. I realized my mom is the way she is with me, because she just really cares about me. • 36. And Symbolism In Sweetheart Of The Song Tra Bong, By OBrien Imagery, detail, and symbolism play a crucial role in this work. Imagery has the function of painting a picture of the situation in the reader s mind so that he or she is able to develop a version of the story individually. It makes the reading a more personalized experience that helps the reader to understand what s going on. When O Brien was just about to escape to Canada to avoid being drafted, he described the scene that was presented in front of him. The shoreline was dense with brush and timber. The sewage field that Kiowa died in was very graphic at times because O Brien used lots of imagery to describe it. As a whole, the field represented the worst parts of the war. It consumed whoever entered it and eventually took O Brien s best friend. It came full circle when later in life, he returned to the exact same field and buried Kiowa s moccasins in the marshland. Metaphors and comparisons are extremely important to the flow of the work and how each story is connected with each other. During this work, O Brien keeps a casual tone. It sometimes gets more formal and serious, but for the most part, it s friendly and almost playful. When he is describing the conversations he had with his friends, he looks back on them with happiness. Consequently, when he is describing the death of one of his friends, his tone gets more somber and less playful. For example, the entire chapter of Stockings is devoted to describing the soldier Henry Dobbins and an interesting knack of his. Even now, twenty years later, I can see him wrapping his girlfriend s pantyhose around his neck before heading out on an ambush. This cute, two page chapter provides a bit of relief after the chapter about Mary Anne Belle. It has light connotations and is a generally funny short story. Moreover, his contributions came at a time where mental health treatment was highly primitive and clinicians lacked insight and awareness about mental health treatments. However, because Freud s native language was German, some individuals would argue that the true essence of his theories, ideas, treatments, and concepts were lost once his books, papers, etc. were translated into English and other languages. The people who practiced this modern philosophy of liberalism, Neoliberals, emphasized on free trade, export production, and comparative advantage. Neoliberalism took over Latin America in the 1990s after nationalism had died down. Neoliberals also sold off or privatized the state run corporations and public services created by the nationalists of Latin America. They also slashed the import tariffs established by the nationalists and deregulated capital flows. One of the social consequences of neoliberal reforms in Latin American countries involved the dismantling of bureaucracies. This dismantling meant unemployment for millions of people. Those who were still employed were left with inadequate incomes, but the result was a high rate of poverty. Social classes were difficult to define however, those in the middle class benefited the most out of the social classes. The distribution of wealth in these Latin American countries was unfair, especially in Chile where the distribution of wealth was considered the most unequal throughout Latin America. Both Physicians And Patients Rely On The Pharmaceutical Both physicians and patients rely on the Pharmaceutical industry to adequately provide medication to address public health concerns ranging from depression to obesity, to name a few. An increased reliance on medication leads to the creation of one of the largest and most profitable pharmaceutical corporations to exist across the world. However, because pharmaceutical companies profit from the drugs they sell, they have incentives to influence the public into buying the drugs they produce; the main objective of pharmaceutical companies then becomes primarily to maximize profits through the selling of drugs, while disregarding the well being of the population (Moynihan and Mintzes 2010, 2). This produced a normal yearly financial shortage (benefits got less expenses paid) of around $14,387 per family unit. This cost must be borne by U.S. citizens. Under current law, all illegal immigrant family units together have a total yearly shortfall of around $54.5 billion. Pride may cause some to feel that they can climb the pyramid, to reach the point where they are not in the shadows of their superiors and to bask in the light of power. Milton connects them together, signifying that one has the light and the freedom that it brings when obeying the most superior, God. While Milton contains prideful darkness in himself, but he humbly requests for God to shine His purifying light, signifying the power that light has over darkness. Essay on The Life of Konstantin Tsiolokovsky Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857 1935) was a Russian mathematics teacher who in 1903 published the Tsiolkovsky formula which is an equation that remains the basis of spacecraft engineering even today. This formula established the relationships among rocket speed, the speed of the gas at exit, and the mass of the rocket and its propellant. Tsiolkovsky also conducted theoretical work on the design of liquid fuel rocket engineering which included the ideas of throttling capability and multi staging, gyroscopes, escape velocities from the Earth s gravitational field, and the principle of action and reaction. The Rocket Into Planetary Space introduced the idea of the optimal velocity that minimises propellant consumption, and explained how rockets could escape the Earth s gravitational pull. The book also described the details of liquid propellant engines and calculated propellant exhaust velocities and from this explored the theory that rockets could operate in a vacuum where they could travel faster than their own exhaust. Other ideas explored rocket staging, film cooling of the engine walls, and strengthening the structure by pressurising propellant tanks. A detailed design of a two stage rocket with extensive supporting engineering calculations was presented. The rocket used liquid oxygen as an oxidiser. The fuel was an alcohol water mixture for the first stage engine and liquid hydrogen for the second stage engine. The liquid oxygen with the alcohol water mixture was used in the German A 4 (V 2) ballistic missile in the 1940s. • 48. Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created. The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection. In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass). However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass).
