What Is The Marketing Strategy Of Coca Cola
Chapter 1 Introduction to Marketing Strategies Introduction to Marketing Strategies And how they are
formed Marketing strategy is defined by David Aaker as A process that can allow an organization to
concentrate its resources on the optimal opportunities with the goals of increasing sales and achieving
a sustainable competitive advantage. Marketing strategies include all basic and long term activities in
the field of marketing that deal with the analysis of the strategic initial situation of a company and the

The threat of substitutes, however, is a very real threat. The soft drink industry is very strong, but
consumers are not necessarily married to it. Possible substitutes that continuously put pressure on both
Pepsi and Coke include tea, coffee, juices, milk, and hot chocolate. Even though Coca Cola and Pepsi
control nearly 40% of the entire beverage market, the changing health consciousness of the market
could have a serious affect. Of course, both Coke and Pepsi have already diversified into these
markets, allowing them to have further significant market shares and offset any losses incurred due to
fluctuations in the market. Consumer buying power also represents a key threat in the industry. The
rivalry between Pepsi and Coke has produce a very slow moving industry in which management must
continuously respond to the changing attitudes and demands of their consumers or face losing market
share to the competition. Furthermore, consumers can easily switch to other beverages with little cost

Social Inference
Social Influence on memory of Sydney Olympic 2000
Abstract
Our decision making might change as a consequence of interacting with a single individual or a group
of people. We tend to have same opinion with others when we are in a group. An experiment about the
effect of social influence was conducted. 563 participants were asked to recall how many medals
Australia got in Sydney Olympics 2000. Participants were given ¡¥Low¡¦ (50%), ¡¥Accurate¡¦ or
¡¥High¡¦ (150%) examples. Result shows that participants tend to be influenced by examples given to
them. Participants who were given ¡¥Low¡¦ examples had lower answers than those given ¡¥Accurate¡¦
examples while participants given ¡¥High¡¦ examples had higher answers than those given ... Show

An Ad From Nike Called Unlimited You
The ad I choose to analyze was an ad from Nike called Unlimited You . The people that are depicted in
the ad are children, amateur athletes, pro athletes and anyone who has a dream that may seem
impossible to achieve. Both male and female are represented in this ad. There are very well skilled
men and women in this ad that are competing in high competition. There facial expressions in the ad
shows their competitive side meaning they have fierce looks. They are dressed in uniform for
whatever sport they are playing which include: running, golf, tennis, swimming, soccer, gymnastics,
wrestling, basketball, baseball, skateboarding, football and martial arts. In this ad specifically it does
not promote one specific product however it promotes the companies brand by advertising on these
athletes. The way Nike used their angles to make this video was very creative. It showed realistic and
unrealistic events in their ad. For example, it showed Orlando Magic s superstar Aaron Gordon getting
into a car crash and jumping off the car and performing a dunk. It was very unique yet very creative.
The lighting used was to make sure it seemed like you were watching the actual sporting event. There
were many different surroundings in each of the clips but they always emphasized the athlete. There
were a wide range of colors used in this ad depending on what scenery they were at. Each sporting
event that they showed had its specific color depending on the crowd, playing surface and sport they

Theme Of Manipulation And Control In George Orwell s 1984
In the world people live in today, there many life factors that have significantly contributed to a person
s identity. One s identity is formed from the influences of people, family, friends to education, novels
to even technology and music; the actions you take, the people you spend time with, and the principles
you choose to defend will define your identity (Hoffman). However, once left in the hands of an
oppressor, a person is at risk in losing their sense of individuality. In George Orwell s 1984,
manipulation and control of all aspects of life such as technology, society, and language are visible.
Orwell reveals the frightening similarities of his fictional novel and the reality people live in today
through his idea of how total control of life eliminates individuality within a society. Firstly, Orwell
unveils that the manipulation of technology is one of the ways for one to lose their individuality. For
instance, the reader comprehends this through the use of telescreens; an instrument [that had] no way
of shutting off (Orwell 4) and that received and transmitted simultaneously (Orwell 5). Here, readers
notice how this device is similar to a security camera. Orwell reveals this device throughout 1984 to
not only emphasize Big Brother and the Party s power, but as well as to help the reader notice how
this technology ruins the lives of individuals like Winston. The telescreen is the ultimate reason as to
why Julia and Winston were torn apart and tortured until

Analysis Of Louise Gluck s Poem Threshing
In this journal entry I will be discussing Louise Gluck s poem Threshing. Louis Gluck centers her
poem around the simple day in day out lives, that is themselves talk about the way we sometimes
refuse to change our own lives, while the poem uses the sun as an element as the endless loop that is
life and how we keep it the way it is. Threshing s main element is the sun. In many ways, as you read
the poem, you can see that the sun can be seen as the main character in the poem. It dictates the
working men s work, their time of relaxing, how long they are alond to feel free during their time or
relaxing, when they must go back to their stressful home life and when they must return back to work
as though it is an endless in escapable loop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They wake up, go to work, work the full day, come home, and deal with their seemingly difficult
families. They don t search for a better way of life even though they drink and are displeased with how
their home life is. They seem pleased with their work. It is uncomplicated, like them. They do the
physical work, get paid, and go home. The displeasure doesn t come from their working life, but from
the displeasing wives they live with. They don t seem to seek better women to be with. They stay with
the woman they are unhappy with and use their work as an escape instead. It is possible that they
create their own stress with their own inner issues that they project as the women being the root of it,
pointing the finger away from themselves so they will never have to go through the process improving
themselves. They are unable or unwilling to change or work to improve their lives which, in total,
leave them stuck in an endless unchanging loop much like the rising and setting of the sun. In all,
Louise Gluck s poem Threshing talks about more than the rising and setting of the sun, and the
Picasso painting of the working day ofg these men. The poem implies the connections of the patterns
we keep ourselves in if we aren t open to change and self improvement, and the endlessness of it as
time passes. If we aren t able to find all the little ways to be happier we will always be stuck in a loop
of misery no matter where we are or how many days

Fady Fanous Research Paper
[Research Paper Title] My name is Fady Fanous. I was born in Egypt, but came to the United States in
2005 when I was 8 years old. I ve been in Nashville for 10 years now. When I was younger I used to
collect toy race cars because it was the most interesting thing to me. I also used to watch a lot of race
car cartoons. My uncle worked on cars in Egypt, he was a mechanic. I always used to enjoy watching
him do something to his car such as change a tire or change the engine oil. Even though these things
are pretty simple right now I still enjoyed watching it a lot when I was younger. I was always
interested in cars even till this day. I started driving when I was 15. Then when I got my license, when

My Experience In High School
Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises
us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program
you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom
and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that
moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my
grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam.
Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was
crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers.
Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school
offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam.
Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the
exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last
name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The
spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the
boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed
in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is
sitting in the far front.
During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was
coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a
few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am
going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I
so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he
will stop talking, he didn t.
Results came, I was very glad that I passed the exam at the same time nervous and I don t

The Field Communication ( Nfc ) Standards
INTRODUCTION Near Field Communication (NFC) standards were first developed by the NFC
forum, which was founded by a consortium of Nokia, Sony and Philips in the year 2004. It is a
wireless communication standard that uses magnetic induction to fill the physical space between
devices in close proximity to one another in order to exchange data, usually in the 13.56 MHz band.
Since it is closely spaced (less than 10 cm), it is more secure than other wireless tools like Wi Fi and
Bluetooth. There are two types of NFC devices: Active devices have their own power source can read
information from an NFC tag and respond to other devices, and passive NFC devices, which lack the
power source and can only send data. Since the data being exchanged is often sensitive credit card
numbers and medical data, for example NFC encrypts the data and sends it over a unique, secure
channel. (Chris, 2014). Furthermore, NFC enabled device can operate in three different modes. They
are reader/writer mode, peer to peer mode, and card emulation mode.
In Reader/Writer mode the NFC device is capable of reading NFC enabled tag types, such as a tag
embedded in an NFC smart poster.
In Peer to Peer mode, two NFC devices can exchange data. For example, you can share Bluetooth or
Wi Fi link set up parameters or you can exchange data such as virtual business cards or digital photos.
In Card Emulation mode, the NFC device appears to an external reader much the same as a traditional
contactless

Descriptive Essay On Genji
I DID IT! I nearly hollered across my home. I BESTED you game, I am BETTER than you! That
night (A fairly alluring night) was not a night to stargaze, that night was the night to play video games
until the legendary 2 minute game was won. I would would triumph even if it had meant staying up
until 3 AM. I was placed in another game in the fictional city of Hanamura, Japan. It was about time to
get the 2 minute game in the books, and it seemed like the game wanted me to achieve it aswell. The
first thing that the game had done for me was put me on the attacking team, which makes it so that I
could actually set the speed by if we were good enough that we could capture both points in 2 minutes
(explanation later). Another thing that was prepared for by the game is that the character that I play as
the most, Genji, is from Hanamura. That does nothing for me, but it is pretty cool that the character
that I normally play as was possibly going to get the 2 minute game in his home town. The good thing
about Hanamura is that it is attacker friendly and is the best map for getting the 2 minute game. Genji
is a character that shoots ninja stars from his arm and looks like a 100% ninja robot, but is part human
and has a human shape. He can climb walls and double jump as passive abilities. Is 2 special moves
are a dash move and being able to deflect bullets for a few seconds. He has a gargantuan katana as his

Essay On Asperger Syndrome
Hans Asperger and Stereotypes of Autism
Hans Asperger, was an Austrian pediatrician that observe autistic like behaviors and social and

(PDD). PDD involve delays in the development of skills, mostly around social, communication, and
imagination and abstract thinking skills. Many experts argue that Asperger syndrome is a milder form
of autism, as called today High functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (HFASD).

This special ability was defined by Asperger as savantism. Even if savantism exists within an
individual case of autism, the majority does not possess savantism (Draaisma, 2009). The stereotype
of savantism is far from reality, and led to unrealistic expectations from autistic individuals that are
not gifted. Adding to that stereotype, is the concept that a person with the disorder also possess a
robotic features, and lack of feelings, which is not a true representation of the majority of such
individuals (Draaisma, 2009).
Lack of social skills have led to a different stereotype on autism. It represent authenticity and lack of
phoniness. According to this view, this authenticity is a value of autistic individuals who are able to
teach others valuable lessons. It leads to the view that autism is not a disorder.According to this view,
even typical individuals may be considered autistic, and in some extent, perhaps even the entire
population can be considered to be autistic. This stereotype contributes to the distortion of the autism
concept. (Draaisma,

The Politics of Massachusetts throughout the Ages Essay
The Politics of Massachusetts
The Constitution Drafted in 1779, the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the
oldest functioning written constitution in the world. Drafted by none other than John and Samuel
Adams, along with John Bowdoin, it served as a model for our own nation s Constitution. It features a
structure, composed of chapters, sections and articles, vastly more organized than any other state
constitution of its time. Within this document, rights of the citizens, and the framework of the states
government is outlined. While it has changed over the years, it manages to paint a picture of the inner

Outlining the powers of the President of the institution to improve education, as well as calling
attention to the importance of literature. These key features would lead to Massachusetts becoming
one of the forefronts of education in the world. The executive branch, as outlined in the Constitution,
is composed of a Governor, a Lt. Governor, as well as numerous councilors from amongst the state.
The governor is the only person allowed to suspend the laws, and must review every bill and law
before it is passed. He, or she, is the Commander in Chief of the militia, and appoints all judicial
officers. However, these powers are limited, as the legislative body may supersede the power of the
governor with a 2/3 majority vote in both houses. Furthermore, the other members of the Executive
branch are elected separately, unlike many of the governors of the country, the Lieutenant Governor,
as well as the councilors, Secretary, Treasurer, and Commissary, are elected into office, and keep the
governor in check. This limits the power of the governor greatly, primarily only allowing the governor
to recommend budget plans, and guide the General Court in his own direction. The governor may
reduce items or parts of items in bills appropriating money, with reason provided, but is mostly at the
mercy of the councilors. The legislature of the Commonwealth, is bicameral, much like our Congress,
it is composed of a Senate and a House of Representatives. The Senate, made up of 40

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were accused of deflating footballs to give them an

footballs are easier to grip and throw, giving their team a direct advantage over the Colts. The

the Patriots had were not measuring to the correct standard and they found that Tom Brady knew of

In 1966 the EEOC issued regulations that provided that employers must afford accommodation unless
it would cause a serious inconvenience to the conduct of business. In 1967, this regulation was further
refined to read undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s business. These regulations were
quickly challenged as was the EEOC authority to issue such regulations. (Foltin Standish, 2004, p. 3).
Finally, in 1972 Congress amended Title VII adding a new section 701(j), which reads as follows:
The term religion includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless an
employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee s or perspective
employee s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s
business.
This still left the defining of the terminology reasonably accommodate and undue hardship to the legal
system.

All Animals Are Equal By Essay
Argumentative Essay: All Animals are Equal
In his book all animals are equal, Singer argues that human beings should extend to non human
species the same equality of consideration that is extended to fellow human beings. He based his
argument on the fact that past liberation movements aimed at condemning discriminations based on
gender and sex had been declared absurd at their onset, but had later on yielded fruits. This
discrimination against animals, he argues, is similar to these past discriminations. For this reason, he
wants the human species to consider non human animals as having rights just as humans have. In his
opinion, the only criterion of moral importance that succeeds in including human beings and
excluding all non humans, is their membership in the homo sapiens species category, and using this
membership as a criterion of moral importance, is completely arbitrary. In other words Singer believes
that we should attach importance to the interests of individuals without regard to their species (Daly,
1997). A human being should not be considered superior to a cow just because one is a cow and the
other is a dog.
Contrary to this argument however, Singer s view is not very radical since human beings and non
human animals have different interests, and so the treatment of both species the same will only mean
giving fair amounts of different treatment. Singer gives examples of the Black Liberation movements
and the fight for women s rights (Moore Parker, 2007). If

Council Of Chalcedon Essay
However, a diverse group ranging from the monks at Constantinople to Egyptian bishops loyal to
Dioscorus opposed the definition. They considered themselves as Pro Nicene and anti Nestorian, but
they worried that the council was being heretic . Ultimately, the Chalcedonian definition stated that
after the incarnation, Christ was in two natures without mixture, change, division or separation .
Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was because the
definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come together into one person and
one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches) understood this to side with western Christology,
they felt that it diverged from the teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature.
The church of Alexandria felt that the definition should have stated that Christ is to be acknowledged
as out of two natures and not in two natures . However, some scholars argue that the language of two
natures also derives from Cyril . Ultimately, the assertion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the case of Nestorianism, if the incarnation was a case of a male son of Mary being indwelt by the
divine son of God, then Jesus Christ is not different from a Christian because Christians believe that
they are indwelt by the son. If that was the case, then the incarnation did not take place. This would
make the doctrine of atonement null and void because it would suggest that Christians were saved by a
human being leading to whether human suffering can atone for sins. In the case of Eutychianism, if
Christ s humanity was swallowed up in his divinity, then the incarnation (God becoming man) did not
really take place, but it seems to be more a case of man extinguished and lost in God, thereby also
making the incarnation null and

Essay Divorced, Beheaded, Survived
B ...Divorced, Beheaded, Survived A short story written by Robin Black in 2010. Death is an issue
everybody has to face at some point in their lives. The only thing we know for certain as human
beings is that we are mortal. We do not know why we are here and how we got here, however we
definitely know that someday we are going to die. Nevertheless, death is also a very vulnerable topic
and it is difficult to know how to handle it when and we all have different ways of dealing with death.

From line 52 to 65 we are introduced to Sarah s contemporary family, her children and her husband.
Then another flashback appears and the tense switches from present tense to past tense. From line 65,
page 3, to line 126, page 5, we hear about the car accident through dialogues from the day it happened
and through passages of descriptions. Subsequently the tense switches from past to present from line
127 to 130 where Sarah describes her feelings about Terry s death. In this passage she reflects about
the fact that when you are dead, as loved as you may be, you may also be forgotten. There appears
another flashback from line 131 to line 147 where Sarah memorises an episode ten years ago where
she decided to put away a picture of Terry as soon as Mark was old enough to ask questions because
the line between Mark and Terry was too easily drawn. She hides the picture in the dresser where she
also keeps her gloves and her really fine scarves, which is a symbol of her protecting her brother and
maybe the gloves are a symbol of Sarah still holding him tightly with her hands, heart and memory.
From line 147 to 156 the tense goes from past to present again. She is describing how Mark handles
the death of Peter and how his little sister Coco is worried about him because he does not speak to his
friends. However, because Sarah has experienced death in an early age too, she is not

Why The Beaver Should Thank The Wolf By Mary Hannibal
Not many people understand the seriousness of endangered species. Some sources go as far as trying
to prove that the act does more harm than good. They do not realize how drastically their lives can be
changed if one part of the food chain is taken away. In the essay Why the Beaver Should Thank the
Wolf by Mary Hannibal, the essayist explains that a group of environmental nonprofits would
challenge the federal government s removal of Endangered Species Act protections for wolves in
Wyoming. Hannibal does not explain the Endangered Species Act, but according to the The National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration it provides for the conservation of species that are

An ecosystem is a community of interacting organisms and their environment. If one of the organisms
is disturbed, it can change the trophic cascade which is a sequence of impacts down the food chain.
Hannibal supports this statement by writing keeping these connections going ensures healthy,
functioning ecosystems, which in turn support human life. (578) An example of this is if all of the
beavers died the other organisms would go somewhere else or die due because they no longer will
have dams to support their ideal habitat.
Many organisms in their ecosystems benefit when their predators are around. In paragraphs 4, 5, and 6
Hannibal provides many examples of how having predators is beneficial to the ecosystem. One
example is in paragraph 4 when she says;
...elk and other browsing animals behave differently when wolves are around. Instead of eating
greenery down to the soil, they take a bite or two, look up to check for threats, and keep moving. The
greenery can grow tall enough to reproduce.(578)
Because of this, the animals in that ecosystem are able to thrive. Hannibal s main points in these
paragraphs point out that there is a specific job for each animal in the food chain which has a direct
effect on its ecosystem if something changes.
A change could cause a degraded ecosystem which would be far less productive overall. In paragraphs
8, 9, and 10 Hannibal explains an example of sea otters eating the sea urchins which protects

Much Ado About Nothing Comedy Analysis
A farce or comedy is best played; A tragedy is best read at home. is a quote by former president
Abraham Lincoln. It holds especially true for Much Ado about Nothing by Shakespeare; this play is
best read at home. Because the language is too advanced, it does not have the elements of a comedy,
and the characters are not funny. For these reasons, Much Ado about Nothing should not be
considered a comedy. There are multiple reasons why it should not be considered a comedy. The first
reason is that the language used is advanced and uncommon, so if there were any comedy involved
many readers would not notice. The dialogue Shakespeare used may have been common and

What Effect Does Stress Have on Health? Many individuals face the problem of stress today. Every
individual will eventually experience stress at some point in his or her life. Stress is defined as an
internal state which can be caused by physical demands of the body or by environmental and social
situations, which are evaluated as potentially harmful, uncontrollable, or exceeding our resources for
coping. An environmental situation could be a natural disaster such as a hurricane and a social
circumstance could be work. This means that stress is typically inevitable; humans encounter multiple
kinds of stressors. Each of these stressors produces different outcomes. Stress can ... Show more

This paper challenges the obsession with outcomes as part of the current preoccupation with
accountability. The paper recognizes and concurs with the importance of setting and trying to meet
clearly defined targets. But it argues that many crucial and equally important developments
inadvertently can be overlooked in the quest to quantify.
The word of the week is outcomes. The subtext is accountability. No one can deny that these two
imperatives are driving most agendas these days. Performance measurement for the private, public and
voluntary sectors is a booming business. Private firms, governments and voluntary organizations are
under pressure to demonstrate that they are functioning in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The concern for accountability is being fuelled by many factors. The private sector always has been
interested in outcomes. The bottom line actual output at the end of the day is the primary driving
force. The private sector must account to its customers and shareholders. In fact, there is growing
discussion about the need to relate to an even broader audience of interested parties, typically referred
to as stakeholders.
The requirement to perform effectively and efficiently is nothing new. But the pressures appear to

Women in The 16th Century Essay
The belief that women were inherently inferior in intelligence, strength, and character was so
persuasive that for men like Knox, a woman ruler was almost a contradiction in terms ( Documents for

and work, not have power and rule over a country. Discussing the govern of Queens during the 16th
century, such as Mary Tudor, Lady Jane Grey, Mary, Queen of Scots, and Elizabeth I, allowed
prejudices to be lessened but never completely be erased. No matter how these four notable ladies

The Six Major Barriers Of Effective Communication
The Six Major Barriers of Effective Communication
Language can be loaded with meaning, beyond its dictionary definition. The meaning of language is
often encapsulated in culture from micro interpersonal to macro international. Culture defines who we
are and it is expressed in the language we use. When culture is defined as a set of customs, traditions,
beliefs, etc., it is more than just a national identity: it is a Sunday social group, a visible minority or
youth group, a family run company, a corporate entity, a community. Culture encompasses that which
we identify with as a member of society whether it be a large or small group within society. In today s
world of business communication using a common lingua franca such as English helps to make
communication more fluid but it is often not enough to bridge cross cultural gaps and common
misunderstandings. In our communication we need to be careful in the language we use and the
meaning we either knowingly or unknowingly impart on our listeners. (Czako,K., 2015)
In our Business Communications text, the author (McLean, S. 2010) cites 6 major barriers to
communications. These major barriers are common in all languages around the world and are
therefore universal in their manifestation. They embody the culture of a nation as much as they
embody the daily life of a local community group or individual. We identify with and use them on a
daily basis. However their place in a business setting is not always appreciated or

Bullying: More Than Just Taking Someone s Lunch Money Society tends to have a set definition of
what normal means as well as how people should behave. The view a population has on normality is
an outcome of culture, individuals, and the environment that surrounds it. A person is raised to regard
behavior in a certain way, which tends to result in them having a fixed opinion of what is acceptable.
An issue of this phenomenon arises when people cannot endure others having a different standpoint on
what is customary. It causes individuals to argue and leads to the inferior giving in, submitting to those

There is always that one thing, be it small or large, that separates a person from the crowd. In Kenji
Yoshino s The New Civil Rights he supports this idea, claiming that in our increasingly diverse society
all of us are outside the mainstream in some way (552). People are bound to be different, as they each
have their own experiences that molds their personality. Therefore, it is impossible for everyone to be
normal if a population is filled with unique individuals with various characteristics, yet, society seems
to always find a way to define normality and set the standard. It decides which traits are unique,
eccentric, or quirky, and which are strictly abnormal, and therefore shunned. When this occurs, other
members of the community have little problems ensuring the different individual knows they do not fit
in. People do this because they do not take to time to understand individuals who are labeled
abnormal. It is a result of their own laziness and lack of desire to be educated about them; they decide
automatically that those human beings are deemed less without getting a chance to know them. This
phenomenon occurs frequently with the LGBTQ community. The population decides that not being
heterosexual or cisgender is grounds for bullying, and that being part of that faction is too different to
be a part of their society. This ignorance blinds them from widening their definition of normality and
expanding their views. People have to be better educated to have more accepting views as it not only
limits themselves, but also harms individuals around

Fear In Literature Of H. G. Wells And Ray Bradbury
Fear is the driving force behind change. When a human being feels they are in danger, the response is
to protect themselves. Traumas or bad experiences can trigger a fear response within us that is hard to
quell. Yet exposing ourselves to our personal demons is the best way to move past them (Sussex
People, 1). Some people will approach the thrill lifestyle willingly, while others will stay away from it
at all costs. When interpreting literature, it is important to understand what was the cause of the
writing. In most science fiction pieces, the answer is fear.
This same truth is evident in the literary works of two authors who shared similar ideas due to
catastrophes going on in the world around them. H.G. Wells grew up during an industrial advancement
in Europe. This advancement impacted the wars that were going on greatly. Killing was made more
efficient and less personal. This affected the morals of the European society.
H.G. Wells noticed the issue, and addressed them in his writing. Ray Bradbury also grew up in a time
of war. The development of nuclear biological warfare greatly impacted his career. His fear of the end
of the world by technology was the supreme basis of all of his works. By applying a historical lense,
readers can observe that H.G Wells and Ray Bradbury are afraid of modernising technology due to
their fear of bad ethics.
The idea of being invisible has always been in the imaginations of children and regarded as a cool
science. H.G. Wells confronts

are challenged. By juxtaposing his two male characters, Carver is able to effectively explore sight and
its seemingly simplistic relationship with learning and knowledge. As well, he addresses the barriers
imposed by the human tendency to rely on vision as the sole means of experiencing the world.
At the beginning of the story, the narrator?s perception on blind people as individuals who ?moved

Carver develops the two main characters in his story to be completely contrasted to each other, in
these characters not only does sight and blindness become conflicted with each other but also does the
issue of knowledge. Carver uses the narrator to represent an individual who sees but cannot ?see? and
Robert as one who can ?see? but lacks the ability to see. Through the interaction between them,
Carver address societies misconception of vision and its connection with knowledge. He brings to the

The 1984 Anti Sikh Riots in India
The Anti Sikh riots in the 1984 year of riots had been anything in particular. People are aggrieved
when they hear of the incident and narrate stories of how runaway crime could have increased on
Sikhs during the time. The main reason for the advent of the riots was the shooting down of Mrs.
Indira Gandhi in morning of 31 October 1984. The riots had started off in the evening just after her
morning death. The information of the riots was already taken by Giyani Jail Singhji that meeting of
congress leaders Arun Nehru, HKL Bhagat and Jagdish Tytler and more were deciding to give a
slogan called khoon ka badla khoon . The first riot took place in the evening near Delhi market of
INA, near south Delhi.
The riots were a challenge to the government to counter the overt insurgency effects, people security
and unplanned measures. In revenge for the army raid she (Mrs. Indira Gandhi) had approved on
Amritsar s Golden temple the center of Sikh faith, occupied by major Sikh Nationalists, was the
reason purported to be the fact on the riots gaining more fire. Officially, the 492 civilians as well as 83
soldiers had got killed in the operation.

Power And Control In William Shakespeare s The Tempest
In William Shakespeare s romantic comedy play, The Tempest, we witness an endless amount of
power struggles and scheming amongst characters, all in the hopes of achieving one thing: complete
control over the remote island in which they re stranded on. Throughout the play, characters choose
their allies, set targets on their enemies, and manipulate situations and one another in an attempt to
reach their end goals. Each character that strives to colonize the island has different motives based on
their place in the social hierarchy and their relationships to fellow characters. However, each character
seeking control over the island not only has their own motives, but also their own vision for what the
island could be under their sole jurisdiction. The three main players seeking to colonize the island and
make their own vision of what it could be into a reality are Prospero, Caliban, and Gonzalo. Between
these three characters we see relationships between the colonizer, the colonized, and one character
who envisions the island as an opportunity to create the perfect society. Power and control are
prominent themes in Shakespeare s The Tempest, as the audience is faced with severe questions of
morality and who has rightful claim of the island.
As the play begins, we learn of the master/servant relationships that are already in place on the island.
Prospero is the current all powerful and omnipotent ruler of the island, who uses strategical social
tactics of abuse and manipulation

Chariot Tactics
For centuries, chariots have been a useful resource in early civilizations. It is defined as a two wheeled
vehicle pulled behind horses to travel from one place to another. The development of a chariot
originated in Mesopotamia before 3000 B.C. and it started to receive widespread attention. During this
civilization, hill dwellers from north of Mesopotamia were sophisticated people because they created
the chariot with good intentions. However, the use of chariots declined rapidly when new tactics were
developed for warlike purposes. Although there are several deficiencies in chariots, it largely
influenced ancient warfare politically, economically and socially.
Chariots served as a great tool in a country. The purpose of military operations is to ensure the safety
of all citizens on a regular basis. When chariots were first introduced, people believed this machine ...

While it is true that chariots protect people from danger, it also helped them seek for employment.
Life gradually improved when people learned and discovered how to build a light maneuverable
vehicle of war that could be drawn by a team of horses at great speed (pg.134 135). The promotion of
a chariot received positive feedback from people because they found it fascinating. Many countries
wanted chariots in their possession simultaneously, so this created job opportunities for people to
produce them. It is very important for a person to have a job because they can earn money to support
themselves and their family. According to Humphrey (2006), chariot makers used materials such as a
hard, dense wood, little prone to cracking, for the hub: a straight, tough, inflexible timber for the
spokes; and a straight grained, easily bent timber for the felloe (pg.135). They would acquire different
pieces of wood, heat them up in a specific shape, and then let them dry for several hours. Therefore, it
is not easy because it requires a lot of

My Life In The Country
My life in the country was simple, I did not have to work as a paperboy, my father was actually alive
at that time, and I got to see my mother more often. My life is very different now because of the war.
It was November 11, 1918, school was canceled everywhere and the streets were crowded with people
of every race cheering. I was excited, but then I remembered my father playing baseball with my
brothers and me in the front yard before the war even started. Nice catch, he would say as I snagged
the pop up. I can still picture with clarity his voice as he spoke. He was the bravest man there was. He
enlisted right when the war started. Ma was against it, but he wanted to help the country. This was
when we had to leave or country life behind and move to the big city. New York was where we were
headed and I was pretty bummed about leaving all my friends behind. A change of scenery brought
much excitement to me, though. Talk about drive to new york here. Wow, I said as i saw all the
different people passing. Buildings of all shapes and sizes were around us. I saw a particularly strange
building which was almost completely flat. We arrived at the apartment we were going to stay in. I
didn t say it out loud, but I think all of us were thinking of how small the room was. One day passed in
the new home. There were a lot of things i liked there, but it was loud and crowded. The next day, I
visited my school. There were a lot more kids there than at

  • 7. Theme Of Manipulation And Control In George Orwell s 1984 In the world people live in today, there many life factors that have significantly contributed to a person s identity. One s identity is formed from the influences of people, family, friends to education, novels to even technology and music; the actions you take, the people you spend time with, and the principles you choose to defend will define your identity (Hoffman). However, once left in the hands of an oppressor, a person is at risk in losing their sense of individuality. In George Orwell s 1984, manipulation and control of all aspects of life such as technology, society, and language are visible. Orwell reveals the frightening similarities of his fictional novel and the reality people live in today through his idea of how total control of life eliminates individuality within a society. Firstly, Orwell unveils that the manipulation of technology is one of the ways for one to lose their individuality. For instance, the reader comprehends this through the use of telescreens; an instrument [that had] no way of shutting off (Orwell 4) and that received and transmitted simultaneously (Orwell 5). Here, readers notice how this device is similar to a security camera. Orwell reveals this device throughout 1984 to not only emphasize Big Brother and the Party s power, but as well as to help the reader notice how this technology ruins the lives of individuals like Winston. The telescreen is the ultimate reason as to why Julia and Winston were torn apart and tortured until ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Analysis Of Louise Gluck s Poem Threshing In this journal entry I will be discussing Louise Gluck s poem Threshing. Louis Gluck centers her poem around the simple day in day out lives, that is themselves talk about the way we sometimes refuse to change our own lives, while the poem uses the sun as an element as the endless loop that is life and how we keep it the way it is. Threshing s main element is the sun. In many ways, as you read the poem, you can see that the sun can be seen as the main character in the poem. It dictates the working men s work, their time of relaxing, how long they are alond to feel free during their time or relaxing, when they must go back to their stressful home life and when they must return back to work as though it is an endless in escapable loop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They wake up, go to work, work the full day, come home, and deal with their seemingly difficult families. They don t search for a better way of life even though they drink and are displeased with how their home life is. They seem pleased with their work. It is uncomplicated, like them. They do the physical work, get paid, and go home. The displeasure doesn t come from their working life, but from the displeasing wives they live with. They don t seem to seek better women to be with. They stay with the woman they are unhappy with and use their work as an escape instead. It is possible that they create their own stress with their own inner issues that they project as the women being the root of it, pointing the finger away from themselves so they will never have to go through the process improving themselves. They are unable or unwilling to change or work to improve their lives which, in total, leave them stuck in an endless unchanging loop much like the rising and setting of the sun. In all, Louise Gluck s poem Threshing talks about more than the rising and setting of the sun, and the Picasso painting of the working day ofg these men. The poem implies the connections of the patterns we keep ourselves in if we aren t open to change and self improvement, and the endlessness of it as time passes. My Experience In High School Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam. Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers. Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam. Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is sitting in the far front. • 11. The Field Communication ( Nfc ) Standards INTRODUCTION Near Field Communication (NFC) standards were first developed by the NFC forum, which was founded by a consortium of Nokia, Sony and Philips in the year 2004. It is a wireless communication standard that uses magnetic induction to fill the physical space between devices in close proximity to one another in order to exchange data, usually in the 13.56 MHz band. Since it is closely spaced (less than 10 cm), it is more secure than other wireless tools like Wi Fi and Bluetooth. There are two types of NFC devices: Active devices have their own power source can read information from an NFC tag and respond to other devices, and passive NFC devices, which lack the power source and can only send data. Since the data being exchanged is often sensitive credit card numbers and medical data, for example NFC encrypts the data and sends it over a unique, secure channel. (Chris, 2014). Furthermore, NFC enabled device can operate in three different modes. They are reader/writer mode, peer to peer mode, and card emulation mode. In Reader/Writer mode the NFC device is capable of reading NFC enabled tag types, such as a tag embedded in an NFC smart poster. In Peer to Peer mode, two NFC devices can exchange data. For example, you can share Bluetooth or Wi Fi link set up parameters or you can exchange data such as virtual business cards or digital photos. In Card Emulation mode, the NFC device appears to an external reader much the same as a traditional contactless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He, or she, is the Commander in Chief of the militia, and appoints all judicial officers. However, these powers are limited, as the legislative body may supersede the power of the governor with a 2/3 majority vote in both houses. • 21. All Animals Are Equal By Essay Argumentative Essay: All Animals are Equal In his book all animals are equal, Singer argues that human beings should extend to non human species the same equality of consideration that is extended to fellow human beings. He based his argument on the fact that past liberation movements aimed at condemning discriminations based on gender and sex had been declared absurd at their onset, but had later on yielded fruits. This discrimination against animals, he argues, is similar to these past discriminations. For this reason, he wants the human species to consider non human animals as having rights just as humans have. In his opinion, the only criterion of moral importance that succeeds in including human beings and excluding all non humans, is their membership in the homo sapiens species category, and using this membership as a criterion of moral importance, is completely arbitrary. In other words Singer believes that we should attach importance to the interests of individuals without regard to their species (Daly, 1997). A human being should not be considered superior to a cow just because one is a cow and the other is a dog. Contrary to this argument however, Singer s view is not very radical since human beings and non human animals have different interests, and so the treatment of both species the same will only mean giving fair amounts of different treatment. Singer gives examples of the Black Liberation movements and the fight for women s rights (Moore Parker, 2007). If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was because the definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come together into one person and one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches) understood this to side with western Christology, they felt that it diverged from the teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature. From line 147 to 156 the tense goes from past to present again. If one of the organisms is disturbed, it can change the trophic cascade which is a sequence of impacts down the food chain. Hannibal supports this statement by writing keeping these connections going ensures healthy, functioning ecosystems, which in turn support human life. (578) An example of this is if all of the beavers died the other organisms would go somewhere else or die due because they no longer will have dams to support their ideal habitat. Many organisms in their ecosystems benefit when their predators are around. In paragraphs 4, 5, and 6 Hannibal provides many examples of how having predators is beneficial to the ecosystem. One example is in paragraph 4 when she says; ...elk and other browsing animals behave differently when wolves are around. Instead of eating greenery down to the soil, they take a bite or two, look up to check for threats, and keep moving. The greenery can grow tall enough to reproduce.(578) Because of this, the animals in that ecosystem are able to thrive. Hannibal s main points in these paragraphs point out that there is a specific job for each animal in the food chain which has a direct effect on its ecosystem if something changes. A change could cause a degraded ecosystem which would be far less productive overall. In paragraphs 8, 9, and 10 Hannibal explains an example of sea otters eating the sea urchins which protects ... • 32. The Six Major Barriers Of Effective Communication The Six Major Barriers of Effective Communication Language can be loaded with meaning, beyond its dictionary definition. The meaning of language is often encapsulated in culture from micro interpersonal to macro international. Culture defines who we are and it is expressed in the language we use. When culture is defined as a set of customs, traditions, beliefs, etc., it is more than just a national identity: it is a Sunday social group, a visible minority or youth group, a family run company, a corporate entity, a community. Culture encompasses that which we identify with as a member of society whether it be a large or small group within society. In today s world of business communication using a common lingua franca such as English helps to make communication more fluid but it is often not enough to bridge cross cultural gaps and common misunderstandings. In our communication we need to be careful in the language we use and the meaning we either knowingly or unknowingly impart on our listeners. These major barriers are common in all languages around the world and are therefore universal in their manifestation. The view a population has on normality is an outcome of culture, individuals, and the environment that surrounds it. A person is raised to regard behavior in a certain way, which tends to result in them having a fixed opinion of what is acceptable. In Kenji Yoshino s The New Civil Rights he supports this idea, claiming that in our increasingly diverse society all of us are outside the mainstream in some way (552). People are bound to be different, as they each have their own experiences that molds their personality. Therefore, it is impossible for everyone to be normal if a population is filled with unique individuals with various characteristics, yet, society seems to always find a way to define normality and set the standard. It decides which traits are unique, eccentric, or quirky, and which are strictly abnormal, and therefore shunned. When this occurs, other members of the community have little problems ensuring the different individual knows they do not fit in. People do this because they do not take to time to understand individuals who are labeled abnormal. It is a result of their own laziness and lack of desire to be educated about them; they decide automatically that those human beings are deemed less without getting a chance to know them. This phenomenon occurs frequently with the LGBTQ community. The population decides that not being heterosexual or cisgender is grounds for bullying, and that being part of that faction is too different to be a part of their society. This ignorance blinds them from widening their definition of normality and expanding their views. Traumas or bad experiences can trigger a fear response within us that is hard to quell. Yet exposing ourselves to our personal demons is the best way to move past them (Sussex People, 1). Some people will approach the thrill lifestyle willingly, while others will stay away from it at all costs. When interpreting literature, it is important to understand what was the cause of the writing. In most science fiction pieces, the answer is fear. This same truth is evident in the literary works of two authors who shared similar ideas due to catastrophes going on in the world around them. H.G. This affected the morals of the European society. H.G. Wells noticed the issue, and addressed them in his writing. Ray Bradbury also grew up in a time of war.
