Boston Celtics Case Study Essay
The Boston Celtics seem to be not done yet looking for available superstars that they can add to their
roster. In the latest trade rumor, they seem to be still not satisfied with their current lineup and said to
be moving to acquire the services of Paul George from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for 3 players.
The Celtics, who is one of the busiest team in the trade market during the offseason, are still hoping to
land another superstar that could help them contend with other teams. Though they got one of the
biggest acquisition last summer in Al Horford, the team looks to be restless trying to come up a
formidable lineup.
And with many tradeable assets at their disposal, rumors are saying that the Celtics could make a run
to get George from the Pacers. A proposed deal is suggesting that the Boston Celtics will send Jae
Crowder, Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk plus four future draft picks to the Indiana Pacers for Paul
George. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 3 time NBAAll Star might be the player Boston are looking for. He is currently averaging 20.8
points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 12 games he has played this season.
And as per checking with ESPN NBA Trade Machine, the trade will work under the NBA trade rules
and salary cap restriction making it a legal deal and will be approved by league officials. If the trade
pushes thru, the Celtics will surely be a contender team that they wanted to be. But will Pacers
President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird allow this to happen?
According to Metro.us, Larry Bird s recent offseason acquisition hasn t made wonders for the team
and they are now currently sitting at the 10th place in the Eastern Conference division with 9 10
record. Bird have also announced that they are committed to keeping George and they are looking to
sign him to a contract

Managing Business Intelligence Applications Portfolio
I was the first one from my family to attend a college. After an undergraduate degree in electronics
and communication engineering, I thought I had achieved the education goal of my life. Soon I
entered the work place as a junior scientist in a privately held electronics materials research company
and I realized that management degree was the key to rise through ranks in a company. I started
preparation for entrance exams, left the job, went back to school and earned an MBA with Finance as
major. The management degree complemented my technical mindset and gave me a whole new
perspective to the business and the work. After a couple of years in Finance and accounting job, I got
big break at Oracle consulting as a software consultant. I spent next many years focusing on learning
application technology, understanding business processes, solving business problems, and travelling
the world. Currently I manage business intelligence applications portfolio at one of the largest retailer
in US. During recent business updates I saw many business opportunities that were enabled by
technology such as cloud computing, mobility and big data. Trust me I had a déjà vu and my inner self
called for immediate action to prepare myself to leverage such opportunities for career growth and job
satisfaction. I felt a strong need for formal computer science education and started researching
options. That s when I wished to earn a master s degree in computer science from one of the best

The Angel Of Death By Alane Ferguson
The Angel of Death Reaction The book The Angel of Death by Alane Ferguson is an intense and
gripping story due to its mystery and action in the book. The book is mainly about a mysterious death
surrounding the main character s favorite teacher with no leads or cause of death. The book keeps you
engaged by adding things that you least expect about the case as the book goes on. Some positives or
likes I had while reading are as follows below. One like I had about the book was the description of
the murder. The eye sockets were empty. (pg. 43) This helps you envision the body, how they found it
in the book. Another like I had with the book is, She bought a car, Cam. She s left New York. (pg.73)
The aspect of her long lost mother rushing to see her the entire story adds more suspense. The last
thing I enjoyed about the book is, Kyle s hand reached in front of her and snapping it shut with a small
click. (pg.232). I like the end how Kyle is the killer, a twist I think no one expected. ... Show more

One dislike I had with the book was some of the romance that lasted too long on page 128. It was also
mostly awkward the whole time, like when Kyle said weird stuff like, Your hand is so small. and other
eccentric actions. Another dislike I had was the ending itself. It was extremely predictable that
Cammie s mom would save her in the end. The last thing I disliked in the book was the character of
the deputy in the book, Kill two birds with one stone. You can be the birds, she murmured wanting
him to fly away. I m the stone. He was just there in the book and just gets denied by Cammie and
really does nothing

The Pros And Cons Of The Republican And The Democratic Party
INTRODUCTION: The United States is surely understood for its two party political framework,
where Republicans continually contend with Democrats, attempting to advance their political beliefs,
and scanning the methods for keeping up their ceaseless political authority. In spite of the
conventional perspective that the Republican and the Democratic Party are totally distinctive, they can
discover concession to various political and social issues.
THESIS: Past the questionable issues of federalism, one sided military hostility, premature birth, and
same sex relational unions, both the Democratic and the Republican gatherings advance the
requirement for jail privatization and military spending plan increment, supplemented by the political
endeavoring to cut the taxation rate on the rich.
BODY PARAGRAPH
Body Paragraph 1: Neither the Republicans, nor the Democrats are readied to expand the taxation rate,
which the American populace as of now conveys. Despite what might be expected, both sides are

Analysis Of Donald Trump s Campaign
In an effort to control mentioning of Donald Trump, close examination of popular media outlets with
large audiences will enable the campaign to see changes to rhetoric or schedule of statement releases
(there are, on average, over 200,000 mentions every month). (Politico Staff, 2016) Campaign staff as
well as Trump himself will be speaking with media in a manner that promotes a tight hold on
delegates over the course of the election. Rallies will require significant control efforts because of
protesters. Press conferences will enable the campaign to release accurate information at appropriate
times. This helps keep information circulating in the public to be favorable. Social media is now a
substantial part of elections. Releasing information and ads on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and
YouTube will generate needed feedback from audiences. Resources will be allocated to these sources
of information because it is the most effective way of controlling what information flows around in
the public, thus allowing the campaign to have a good amount of control on publicity and media
coverage.
The testing aspect occurs at many different ventures around the web from News polls to focus group
studies. Frank Luntz, a market research provider focuses his resources during the Presidential race to

Anger Between Anger And Anger
Anger can be defined in a multitude of ways, as well as seen in a variety of different perspectives.
Anger can most commonly be defined as a feeling of tension and hostility that may have been caused
by anxiety due to unwanted actions from someone or something that is perceived to be offensive,
threatening, or against one s beliefs. (1) Witnessing this emotion typically leads to an emotional
reaction that can be seen as extreme rage, displeasure, and hostility. This is caused because when one
is angry, you instantly feel the urge to retaliate back. It is very commonly believed that anger emerges
from people that we do not commonly associate ourselves with on a personal level. This could be your
boss, an acquaintance you may have, or even a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows for the person to be put out of the danger because you took the action to keep them safe.
Another way that expressing anger can be seen as a positive feeling is that it can be used as a
reinforcer. After doing further studying, it was able to be inferred that reinforcement is more beneficial
than punishment. This can be shown through the action of expressing anger. When your child does not
do their chores, it is expected that a parent becomes angry when their child to do what they are told.
When the parent expresses their anger towards their child, it overcomes the child and helps to
reinforce the rule of doing their chores. By displaying anger to the child, it will allow them to learn
that they need to follow the rules because they do not want to see their parent with that tone anymore.
(Becourtney, 2006 2011) Anger can also be seen as a positive feeling because it allows people to
overcome a state of hurt. All anger does not consist of throwing things, being physically violent, and
speaking loudly. Expressing anger can also be expressed by isolating oneself from someone because
they are hurt. Furthermore, when someone passes away many people go through the dwelling stage.
You can experience something similar when dealing with anger. In the positive aspect anger allows
one to express feelings that they may have been holding in from a person. This allows for solutions to
the problem to be solved. (American

How do you measure a year in the life? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee, in
inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. This is the song from the Broadway musical hit Rent. The play
is a perfect mix of catchy rock songs, real life problems and experiences with exciting characters and
storylines that made the show destined to be a hit. And a hit it became, as it is a winner of the Tony
Award for Best Musical and Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama. The play is set in New York City s East
Village during the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the late 1980s. The story focuses on eight impoverished
young artists whom are struggling with addiction, AIDS and hope. The play was written in 1993 by
Jonathan Larson, whom based it loosely off of Puccini s La Boheme. The production was initially
performed in an Off Broadway theatre until it was moved in 1996 to Broadway s Nederlander Theatre.
With its success, director Chris Columbus transitioned the play into a film in 2005. The film has
proven to be an even bigger success and even became an important part of American culture. The
storyline with its breakthrough themes have shed a light into the struggles and life during this time
period. The musical and film have important comparisons and differences throughout, which this
paper will highlight, along with its elements.

Alexander Mcqueen Research Paper
Alexander McQueen is still known for his unique designs even after he s death. He was born in
London, England on March 17th 1969.
His fashion career started at the ripe age of 16, when he started working on Savile Row Street in
London s Mayfair district. There, he was employed with the tailor shop Anderson and Shephard, and
then Gieves and Hawkes. After a while, he began working with costume designers Angels and
Bermans, where his work would be trademarked later in his life.
At a very young age, Alexander was offered three apprenticeships that all consisted in construction of
clothing. While he was doing this work, he learned and mastered 6 methods of pattern cutting that
were used in the 16th century. Designer Koji Tatsuno employed him and a year later he was employed
as Romeo Gigli s design assistant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He opened stores in major cities such as New York and Milan. Leaving Givenchy seemed to give him
the opportunity to produce more appealing shows. An example of this is the hologram of model Kate
Moss that was present in his 2006 Fall/Winter line.
Two tragedies struck McQueen, one in 2007, when close friends Isabella Blow committed suicide. Her
death was the most valuable thing I learnt in fashion and it was for this reason that he dedicated his
2008 Spring/Summer line. The second one occurred a couple of years later, when McQueen s mother
died. A few days later, after her shocking death McQueen himself was found dead in his apartment,
the cause of death being suicide.
Sarah Burton, co designer in McQueen s company, became the new creative director after McQueen s
death. McQueen s benefaction to fashion was celebrated in 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art,

Essay on Lithium
Almost everyone has a favorite song, a song that takes them back or sends them forward to a place
and time that is not the present. What makes us pick out our favorites? What kind of affect does a song
have that it requires us to constantly hum it or sing it at the top of our lungs? While I cannot speak for
others without some kind of group consultation, I can explain the things that make me feel so
intensely about this song, Lithium, preformed by a 1990s grunge rock band, Nirvana, and sung by
Kurt Cobain.
The introduction to this song makes me think of a nursery rhyme. It takes me back to being a young
child singing Ring Around the Rosie and laughing and playing with others without a care in the world.
Though this feeling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It only takes so much of this before one will encompass within ones own head. Of course these new
friends do not hurt you and you are the happiest you have ever been.
The next line, I m so ugly, but that s okay, cause so are you/ Broke our mirrors (nirvana music),
continues to explain an aggravated state of the songwriter. Also, a glimmer of hope appears in this
line. It reminds us that we are only as ugly as we think we are. By breaking the mirrors, a freedom
from society is stated. There is no fear of what others think. A reaction to this is in some way straying
from the norm. We have holes in our noses and tattoos and dress differently than the rest. We all need
to break our mirrors and be proud of who we are.
The following line, Sunday morning is everyday for all I care/ And I m not scared (nirvana music),
talks about somebody who either does not believe in God or believe in going to church on Sundays, or
is not afraid to worship in another manner other than the usual. Sunday is just another day of the week.
This person is not afraid of any repercussions that might be the effect of this activity. This line is also
about having freedoms.
Light my candles/ In a daze/ Cause I ve found god/ Hey, Hey, Hey (nirvana music) is a continuation of
the preceding line. It is difficult to determine what is meant here. Maybe it is because the songwriter is
so surprised to discover God. I see it like this. The

The Effects Of Brain Trauma On The Brain
Brain trauma occurs when an external force causes injury to the brain. It s classified in a variety of
different classes based on the severity of the injury, mechanisms: closed or penetrating head injury,
and location of injury. However, in many cases of brain trauma the damage is traumatic, affecting the
brain, physical capabilities, mental fortitude, personality, and behavior. In addition to the impairment
of abilities and behavior after the trauma, the journey to recovery is long and hard. F.K a victim of
brain trauma experienced the long journey of recovery that resulted from his injury. F.K s life
preceding his injury was relatively normal. He was a carpet layer who enjoyed normal hobbies
including: car racing and country music. He was recently separated from his wife and three, however
this was not the worst event in his life. On November 10, 1998, F.K was in a car accident in which he
struck the back of his head, causing severe bleeding from his mouth and back of his head. Upon
arriving at the hospital he was given a CT scan, and the areas of the brain that were injured were
revealed. He suffered with occipital skull fractures, a cerebellar hematoma, and diffuse cerebral
swelling. Due, to the severity this injury F.K received neurosurgical assistance in which the doctors
performed a lobotomy. The doctors removed a portion of the brain tissue in the frontal parietal lobe,

Jean Pierre Corteggiani From The French Institute Of...
Jean Pierre Corteggiani from the French Institute of Oriental Archeology states that the Nile is
therefore life itself to Egypt. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing
without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian
civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers
from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile
river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to
keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the
water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was that gods
spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to agriculture. As new
techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production increased as well.
Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden age of ancient
Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a pharaoh could
have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. Under their commands, gigantic pyramids
were constructed. However, the logic of the edification of those pyramids and their builders are still a
mystery. All that is known is that the construction of the mausoleum required high technical

Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid: Which Tenant Is Best in 2011?
By David V. Tran
There are 3 major drugstore chains in the US: Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. Below are some key
statistics about the 3 major drugstore chains as of July 2010: 1. Walgreens ranks #1 with market cap of
$29.33 Billion, $66.25 Billion in revenue, and S P rating of A+. According to Walgreens, 75% US
population lives within 3 miles from its stores. On Oct 1, 2009, Walgreens opened its 7000 th store in

This is a great present to the drugstore industry. There are new drugs to treat previously untreatable
illnesses, and new diseases, e.g. Viagra for men s unhappiness, Zoloft for depression, Avastin for
colon cancer, Herceptin for breast cancer, Nicotine patches for smokers to kick the habit, Tamiflu for a
potential bird flu pandemic, vaccine for swine (H1N1) flu pandemic, Tekturna/Rasilez for
hypertension and various new drugs for AIDS and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). The new
medicines are very expensive, e.g. a year s supply of Avastin costs about $55,000. Eli Lilly has sold
about $4.8 billion of Zyprexa in 2007 for schizophrenia and yet most people have never heard of this
medicine. There are existing drugs now approved to treat new illnesses and thus increase their sales
revenue. For example, Lyrica was originally intended to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people
with diabetes. It is now approved by FDA to treat Fibromyalgia which affects 5.8 million Americans
per WebMD. Big advances in genetics, biology and stem cells research are expected to produce a new
class of drugs to treat diabetes, Parkinson s and various rare genetic disorders. For example the new
drug Ilaris from Novartis targets genetic causes of an inherited disorder that there are only 7000
known cases worldwide. However, Novartis hopes to gradually broaden its drugs to a blockbuster
drug to more common disorders caused by similar genetics. Technology and modern life introduce and

The Never-Ending Financial Crisis of 2008
Since it began in 2008, the US has faced what is being called the great recession. It is 2013, and it is
clear apparent that it is a recession longing to be cured. Through the works of Putnam, Sum et. al.,
Wisman, and Colander, we can better understand this crisis and look for the best way to get out of it.
To begin, Robert Putnam describes what has occurred in the U.S. over the past several decades. He
states that over the past several decades the U.S. has been subject to [an] economic and cultural
[entanglement] a mixture of government, private sector, community and personal failings (Putnam
2013, III).
Putnam believes that this financial crisis occurred as a result of layoffs, and many closings of
businesses (Putnam 2013, 2).
We can further this understanding by turning to Sum, et. al., who believed that the crisis occurred due
to the blue collar workers who have lost their jobs, and might never see those jobs again (Sum, et. al.
2010, 6).
Our next economist to turn to is John D. Wisman. In his article he describes what he believes to be the
cause of the crisis. He states that this recession occurred centered upon inadequate regulation
stemming from laissez faire ideology, and low interest rates (Wisman 2013, 921). He further points
out that an underlying effect of wage stagnation and dramatically increasing inequality in the US over
the past 35 years may also be a cause.

Role Of Prostitution In Ancient Rome
Prostitution is the practice of selling one s body or sexual favors in return for money. This is often
regarded as the oldest profession of the world with evidence dating back to Ancient Babylon and
Sumer. With each succeeding major civilization, prostitution became more developed, refined, and
subjected to regulation; Ancient Rome being no exception. Prostitution is often an undiscussed section
of society when discussing past cultures. It is that very reason I chose to write on this subject as
practiced in Rome. In Ancient Rome, a society of morality and pride, it is ironic that what is typically
seen as a degrading practice, was practiced, widely tolerated, and regulated by the state. Prostitution,
while not an integral part of Roman society, helps offer insight into not only the Roman economy, but
also entertainment and private life. Through research and explanation I intend to elaborate on the
organization of prostitution, legal recognition given to prostitutes, what Roman brothels were like, sex
slavery in a Roman context, and the connection between prostitution and religion. ... Show more

arrangements of the prostitutes, as suggested by Dillon and Garland, were often created, at least by
free women, out of desperateness due to financial need. The women who worked for a lena or
independently because of this desperation are stipulated by McGinn to have been considered women
of higher repute, than those who were born into sex slavery or forced into it. Those who worked out of

Essay on Determination of the Rate Constant
Determination of the Rate Constant for a Chemical Reaction
Department of Chemistry
Abstract
This experiment was performed to determine the rate constant k, for hydrolysis of tertiary butyl
chloride to tertiary butanol. The solvent system for this reaction is 45% isopropyl alcohol and 55%
water. The rate of hydrolysis of t butyl chloride is measured by the decrease in the concentration of
this reagent with time. The rate of decomposition of t butyl chloride must be equal to the rate of
formation of hydrochloric acid. The rate of hydrochloric acid formation was measured by titrating the
acid produced with a base, NaOH.

The lab instructor added exactly 1.00 mL of the t butyl chloride to the flask. The reaction began on
this addition and the hydrochloric acid began to produce. This was time zero and the stopwatch was
started. The contents of the flask were swirled to facilitate the mixing and 2 mL of the 0.25 M sodium
hydroxide was added expeditiously. The exact amount of sodium hydroxide solution added to the flask
was recorded and the solution turned pink. The pink color produced when sodium hydroxide was
added, eventually faded due to the production of hydrochloric acid. The time that had elapsed from the
zero time of the t butyl chloride addition to the color fade was recorded as well as the temperature. 2

How Is Alice In Wonderland Appropriate
For years books have been subject to countless reviews and scrutiny, and each time the
appropriateness of a book is up for debate, both sides of the argument present valid points. This
however does not apply to Alice in Wonderland. The classic written by Lewis Carroll is deemed as
inappropriate for children by many but what individuals don t realize is that Alice in Wonderland may
be the most appropriate book a child could ever read. Alice in Wonderland does contain both violence
and a young girl talking to strangers but despite this, Alice in Wonderland is appropriate for many
reasons. Some of which are that it is filled with imagination, teaches children the importance of being
on time and relationships as well as teaching children educational ... Show more content on

Despite this it is important to remember that societal norms change throughout the decades and what
may seem inappropriate now may have once been a common occurrence. Indeed the childrens story is
filled with threats of violence, drugs, alcohol, stranger danger, and cases where Alice eats and drinks
unknown foods or drinks. Despite all the inappropriate aspects of Alice in Wonderland, it is more than
filled with appropriate aspects such as imagination, educational value, teaching children the
importance of trust and relationships and being themselves. Alice made many friends along the way
and learnt important life lessons during her adventure. It is important for children to read and learn
what Alice in Wonderland has to teach. Children are sheltered from reality and kept in their own little
world filled with nothing but comfort and happiness, and then somewhere between childhood and
adulthood, they re thrown into reality. A reality they have been told is unsafe and full of cruelty and
then the children are expected to be comfortable and know their way around. The best literature for a
child is that which engages a child s mind while at the same time in a way that they would understand.
Children are not born capable of understanding the pain, fear and loss that is a part of the real world,
and its essential for them to be taught how to prepare for life. Less time needs to be spent on teaching
children to fear the dark, monsters and other such things, and instead more time needs to be spent on
teaching children to fear realistic things such as bankruptcy, mean individuals and the lack of
acceptance in society. In addition to teaching them what to fear and expect, children must also be
taught that it is all going to be okay. It is better to fill a child s mind with a

Is Mineral Evolution A Frame For Understanding Minerals...
Introduction:
This framework of mineral evolution has been presented by Robert M. Hazen. As from the heading,
you can imagine it s something related to minerals and their origin. As we all know, Earth was formed
4.6 billion years ago. There were no minerals, in fact, even no kind of solids were there. Years passed
by, new mineral generating processes came into play which resulted into development of Earth s
diverse mineralogy. Earth today, in contrast, have nearly more than 4,400 mineral species. Still, there
are more to be discovered. Still, there are many question in our mind, how did these all things
happened? What caused Earth s diversification? To answer all these questions, Robert M. Hazen
presented this new framework. According to Hazen, Nonliving world is a stage on which life plays out
its evolutionary drama . This research was necessary to understand Earth s history as a frame for
understanding minerals and all the stages and process that created them.
Methods:
According to Hazen, Over the past four and a half billion years Earth has passed through series of
stages in which more and more minerals developed. Here, Evolution of Earth and its minerals has
been analyzed, which are divided into stages Making of Earth, Black Earth, Red Earth, White Earth,
Green Earth. Let s start with Making of Earth This happened around 4.5 billions years ago, when
number of planetesimals (dust, rock materials, gas in solar system) collided to form Earth. These

MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is getting popularity in not only in Universities worldwide but
also in the people who want to enrich their skill sets. As the demand grows, different MOOC websites
are taking appropriate action to provide more dynamic environment. They are using NoSQL to
maintain the data. Most of the MOOC websites using Document type NoSQL databases to manage
videos, forums and assignments. But when it comes to decide which NoSQL database should be
implemented there are many choices like MongoDB, CouchDB, ClusterPoint etc. and consequently a
question arises why majority of MOOC websites are using MongoDB instead of CouchDB which is
also a NoSQL document oriented database? In the following paper it will be more clear which
database MongoDB or CouchDB in the present time is more suitable to use for a MOOC website.

Slumber Party Barbie
Barbie is bad role model for young girls because she represents ideas that can be harmful for children.
According to the Huffington Post Now, courtesy of a 1965 era Barbie, comes another outlandish idea
to help keep the pounds off: starvation. We ve always known Mattel s iconic Barbie doll may not be
the most healthful source for advice on keeping a trim figure, but the Slumber Party Barbie, produced
in the mid 1960s, really takes the cake. Among the doll s accessories are a small plastic scale
permanently set to 110 lbs., and a diet book titled How To Lose Weight, .... The diet book s only
advice? DON T EAT! . (Grenoble, p.3) This Barbie doll confers young girls with the idea of self
starvation through her unhealthy accessories like her scale and diet book. This Barbie doll also shows
that she has self esteem issues if she worries about how much she weighs and whether or not refusing
to eat will be harmful. If this is the message that Barbie gives little girls then she is not a good figure
for them to look up to.

The Theme Of Reality In The Poisonwood Bible
Throughout the novel, The Poisonwood Bible written by Barbara Kingsolver, many characters lose
their faith and come to terms with reality. Adah Price, one of the four Price sisters, maintains a
somewhat detached outlook on life until she hears that her president is planning to overthrow Congo.
Adah says that, The smiling bald man with the grandfather face has another face. This quote is
important because helps Adah come to terms with reality, if only for a moment, and realize that not
everything is as it seems. It also tells how Adah has become disillusioned from her father figures. The

God as time wears on and she discovers that reality is a brutal place. The scary aspect of the quote is
that it points out the horrible truth of the two facedness of not only the government but of people in
general. The government is known to do terrible things, some completely avoidable and unnecessary,
and it happens more than people like to admit. Individual people can turn on a friend and change in
the blink of an eye. It seems impossible but it is always the nice and quiet ones to watch out for. A
kind and smiling face does not mean that s/he is incapable of betrayal. When Adah speaks of the

The harsh truth is that the government is corrupt and society is crooked; they are willing to do
immoral things to achieve their own goals. Adah realizes this in her stay in the Congo and further
distances herself from her father and other figures. Horrific things massacre, theft, treason are

Venus And The Greenhouse Effect
Today in everyday life, the Greenhouse effect has been heating up our planet Earth. But not only has
Earth been effected, Mars, the moon Titan, and most importantly Venus. Because Venus is so closely
related to Earth, scientist have used Venus s problem to predict what could happen to Earth in the
future. Most of Venus s problem come from being so close to the sun, the thickness of its atmosphere,
and its past experience with the Runaway Greenhouse Effect.
The definition of greenhouse effect is, as the planet absorbs the sun s energy, it also releases a
different form of energy called radiation which gets absorbed by the greenhouse gases making the
atmosphere warmer. One of the main Greenhouse gases is Carbon Dioxide, which is very effective at
trapping heat in an atmosphere, and is being added to the atmosphere faster than Venus can naturally
remove it. Carbon Dioxide is trapped in Venus s atmosphere due to the absence of its magnetic field,
making it easier for lighter gases to escape into outer space, and for heavier ones to be trapped like
Carbon Dioxide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Glass Menagerie Analysis
The delays and choices of the Wingfield family are their ways of searching for a purpose in life. In the
play, you can see the character s attempt to delaying choices. However, you can also see how others
choices have affected each other. The husband of Amanda, and the father of Tom and Laura left. The
abandonment plays through out; however, it is more about his choice of leaving the family behind.
You can also realize Tom s delay of leaving by his nightly escapes. Laura is escaping anything that
must do with the real world. Whereas Amanda forces her compulsions trying to make her children s
life choices, both Tom and Laura. Pursuit plays an enormous role in The Glass Menagerie. Tom and
Laura s father pursued the lifestyle of the open road. Amanda wanted a better life for Laura causing
conflict between the family, she puts pressure on both children. Laura yearned for a life free of friction
yet yearning for this is not reality. This caused even more strife within the family. Jim pursued women
whom he based off their aesthetics and popularity. However, Tom is not only pursing but also pursued.
Tom acts as a duel role in the play by being a narrator and protagonist. The play comes from the
perspective of Tom s memories. He participates as both a character within the play recalling his own
recollections, and by addressing the audience to present an analysis of the events. Tom feels confined
in his job and family and yearns to escape in every aspect of his life. Tom is

The Necessity of Personal Responsibility Essay
Personal responsibility may be perceived in many ways, but it is imperative to understand the
relevance of why it must begin with our self. First, one will never develop an attitude of responsibility
if they always look for others to complete their task. It is a necessity that one has personal discipline
or their efforts to be responsible will prove to be fruitless. Second, being responsible yields great
rewards and acting responsible is a clear sign of maturity. A responsible individual looks to no one but
self and no matter what the outcome; they are willing to stand by their decisions. (Maltby 2009),
Personal responsibility is concerned with people taking individual accountability for their decisions
and actions, together with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personal responsibility may yield many rewards. For example, Mary s entry level position at Trump
Towers was administrative assistant. During a period of one year, Mary validated her worth by
working overtime and always volunteering to help with other projects. As Mary continued to flourish
in completing her assignments, she was elevated from administrative assistant to executive director of
the accounting department. There are many levels of maturity, but maturity is a process that students
develop over a period of time. Consequently, the student that matures quickly is likely to initiate an
educational plan that will increase their academic success. One preliminary plan that a student can
design to achieve academic success is goal setting. Goal setting allows the student to define their
academic goals and to devise a plan that will accommodate their collegiate career. One way to make
goals effective is to examine them up close. (Ellis, p. 70,2011) Prior to this point we established
several factors to confirm the necessity of personal responsibility, but here we will interject effective
strategies that a student must use to generate success in their chosen field of study. Research and
observation reveals that the most successful students are accountable, but also have a strong
determination to apply practical concepts to achieve their academic goals. The successful student

What I Have Learned About Salbutamol
Salbutamol (also known as albuterol in USA) is one of the most famous short acting β2 agonists. It
has become first line treatment for asthma due to its effectiveness. I met this drug in a dispensing
session in the first term and I think is a good example of what we have learnt so far. In this essay I will
tell you what I know about this drug. Salbutamol is sold in its sulphate form and is marketed as a
racemic product. According pharmaceutical chemistry this means that in it, it has 50% of the R
enantiomer and 50% of the S enantiomer. However, only the R enantiomer is active at the β receptors.
It is thought that the S enantiomer is inactive or causes adverse effects. Because of this, the pure R
enantiomer was marketed levalbuterol. β receptor agonists are used in the treatment of asthma and
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to relax the muscles in the air passages in the lungs.
Salbutamol is a selective β2 adrenergic agonist, although this selectivity is relative and dose
dependent. This means that the selectivity is lost at high concentration and thus causing side effects.
Albuterol has affinity to β 2 receptors and binds to them, causing a relaxation effect. β2 receptors are
members of the adrenergic family of receptors and therefore its effects are caused by an interaction
with G proteins. β

Examples Of Imperialism In The Movie Avatar

power. This statement refers to the greediness that was depicted in the movie by the Resources
Development Administrators (RDA), which led to a forceful relocation of the Na Vi people. The
following essay will include the discussion of three anthropological themes that were displayed. The
first theme is the power of knowledge. Here I will discuss how knowledge was used against the NA Vi

Avatar displays a solid anti imperialism message. Imperialism occurs when a particular country
utilises their political and military powers to gain control over other areas of the world. According to
Alcock and Young, 1974 there are five categories of imperialism which are economic, cultural,
political, military, and communication. However, the movie Avatar exhibits two kinds of imperialism
which is military and economic imperialism. The Na Vi people are considered to be poor indigenous
people, while the RDA are technologically literate and rich. The RDA forcefully took over the
Pandora because they wanted to build a Unobtanium. A Unobtanium is a room temperature for energy.
The evidence of imperialism from the movie is displayed when the military force took down the tree
of voices. It is also displayed at the end of the movie where the battle between the people of
Omaticaya and other tribes and the military force occurred. This is when the home tree was also taken
down which forced the people of Omaticaya to

Need Of The Study Of Women
NEED OF THE STUDY
Women owned enterprises contribute 3.09 percent of industrial output and employ over 8 million
people. Approximately, 78 percent of women enterprises belong to the services sector. Women
entrepreneurship is largely skewed towards smaller sized firms, as almost 98 percent of women owned
businesses are micro enterprises. As with the broader MSME sector, access to formal finance is a key
barrier to the growth of women owned businesses, leading to over 90 percent of finance requirements
being met through informal sources. The total finance requirement of women owned MSMEs in 2012
was around Indian rupees 8.68 trillion ($158 billion).
Within the segment, small enterprises led the demand for financing: around Indian rupees 6.42 trillion
($116 billion), approximately 74 percent of the total requirement. This was mostly due to unmet
working capital and investment finance needs. Micro enterprises with a requirement of Indian rupees
2.05 trillion ($37 billion), accounted for 24 percent. Most of this requirement was largely focused
around working capital needs. Women owned medium scale enterprises, which account for 0.01
percent of the total MSME sector had finance requirements of around Indian rupees 0.21 trillion ($4

Foreign language literacy and the tourism sector
Although agriculture is the largest segment of Cambodia s economy, tourism is the second largest
contributor to the country s gross domestic product. To support the growth of tourism, Cambodia has
adopted many languages into their culture such as the Cambodian French, Cham, Jarai, Kuy, Stieng,
Chinese, and English. These languages were developed from the languages of France, Vietnam,
Thailand, and China. This historical connection from each country is one of the reasons tourists like to
visit Cambodia. For instance, the French visit Cambodia due to their historical connection which was
the French colonial rule from 1863 through 1953. These similarities that arose from the adoption of
languages then became the connection of Cambodia to the said countries. Aside from the historical
connection, these language connections are one of the reasons tourists visit Cambodia (Bookbridge
2015).

Brown V Board Of Education (Brown) (1954) Marked A Historic
Brown v Board of Education (Brown) (1954) marked a historic victory for civil rights in the United
States. Chief Justice Warren declared the Separate but Equal doctrine unconstitutional, thereby
moving the nation one step closer to a more integrated society. However, despite Brown s monumental
win for racial equality, it is undoubtedly obvious that the Court overstepped its boundaries in trying to
push for progress. In Brown, the Court was unjustified in its actions to overrule Plessy v Ferguson
(Plessy) (1896) and violated its constitutional limit in order to promote racial integration in public
education. In order to fully examine the background and context in which Brown rose, we must
examine Plessy. Plessy was heard in the Supreme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Discussing the ambiguities of determining one s race proved irrelevant to this case for Plessy s race
wasn t explicitly stated on the record (Urofsky, 186). Also, the altercation between the conductor and
Plessy had nothing to do with the Conductor s ability to determine Plessy s race because it was Plessy
who self identified as being colored (Urofsky, 186). Lastly, regarding the constitutionality of the
Separate but Equal doctrine, Justice Brown believed racial separation to be different from racial
subordination (Urofsky, 187). He explained that the feeling of inferiority solely derives from how
Black Americans perceive the doctrine, and not from the actual doctrine itself (Urofsky 187). This
decision in Plessy legitimized racial segregation and upheld the constitutionality of Louisiana s
doctrine. By the time Brown rolled around, America was in dire need of a remedy caused by the
aftermath of Plessy. Brown was a compilation of four similar cares, all dealing with the question of
whether primary and secondary public school should be racially integrated. Segregation kept Black
students from attending schools closer to home, sometimes forcing young kids to travel miles away
from home to receive an education. Segregation was getting ridiculous to the point where White
Southerners would build a completely new institutions, just to stop Black students from entering their
schools (Urofsky, 279). With Brown, plaintiffs sought to prove that

Guinea Pig By Guinea Pigs
Once upon a time, on the coastal cliffs and rocky shores of Animal Island, there lived a sea guinea pig.
He was young and curious and loved adventure. He would go diving down to the ocean floor to
discover the colorful fish that swam through the bright sea plants, and he loved to explore the small
underwater caves that dotted the edges of the reef.
One day Guinea Pig was basking in the sunshine. It was almost always cloudy where he lived, and it
was a rare day when the sun was out. As Guinea Pig sunned himself on the shore, his eyes scanned the

Octopus probably isn t even real, He told himself. I ll be fine. And he stood up and began to walk

But strangely enough, he couldn t see the gold anymore! It no longer shined and glittered in the sun.
Oh, the sun is setting, Guinea Pig thought, disappointed. It s not shining on the gold anymore, so I ll

Guinea Pig could hardly sleep that night. His heart was filled with excitement and greed. He wished

Symbolism In Strange Fruit, By Abel Meeropol
The poem Strange Fruit by Abel Meeropol, could be described as dark and graphic, as it embodies
Southern violence in America. The poem describes the lynching of black slaves, which was generally
presented to an audience of whites. Billie Holiday, a black female artist, would sing the poem to a
predominantly upper class white club. But strangely, the poem was written by a white man, Abel
Meeropol. Although the last confirmed lynching was in 1968, there are other forms of racially
motivated killings and violence in the United States today such as police brutality and the race riots
formed by white supremacist in Charlottesville. White America is linked and always will be to the
history of black killings. To understand what some of the lynching s could have looked like, Meeropol
made the poem very vivid with many examples of imagery within it as well as the many dark
metaphors he placed throughout the poem.
To understand why Strange Fruit transpired in the first place, it is important to realize the terrible acts
committed during the 1930s. The first slave ship sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1619 and from
then on, slavery would be etched into the history of America. For 246 years, slaves worked in
numerous fields of crops while being sold, traded, raped, and killed. Even after the abolishment of
slavery, Jim Crow laws started taking affect soon after around the 1880s. Although Jim Crow laws
were separate but equal rights, it was as if they were unfair and unjust rights.

Vaccines And The Anti Vaccine Argument
As healthy as my lifestyle seemed, I contracted measles, mumps, rubella, a type of viral meningitis,
scarlatina, whooping cough, yearly tonsillitis, and chickenpox, some of which are vaccine preventable
(Parker 1). This quote by vaccine advocate Amy Parker, a woman who was not vaccinated as a child,
shows just a glimpse into the life of an unvaccinated individual. Parents who do not vaccinate their
children claim many different reasons for their decision. Three of the most popular reasons are:
religious grounds, health problems as a result from vaccines, and the belief that the illnesses are rare.
Each of these reasons can be proven as nonessential in the anti vaccine argument. First of all, religion
has become a frequently used excuse. Recently, a case arose in New York City when three families
obtained vaccination exemptions due to religious reasons (NYC Court 1). Because they chose to not
vaccinate their children, their children were not allowed to attend school during times when another
student had a vaccine preventable illness (NYC Court 1). Naturally, this sparked an uproar among the
parents, who then sued the city by claiming it was a violation of their First Amendment right to
religious freedom and their 14th Amendment right to equal protection under the law (NYC Court 1).
The dogma of several mainstream religions references vaccines and whether or not they are necessary.
For example, the Catholic Church strongly supports vaccination, even making it a moral and

Odrc Recidivism
According to Jones, the most challenging aspect of ODRC s goal of reducing recidivism is
employment of individuals once they are released from their institution back into the community. This
relates back to the views of the community in that, much of society does not want to associate with ex
offenders. This includes within employment. Individuals who have been incarcerated have a much
harder time finding employment than do most others due to their record. However, according to Jones,
ODRC is combating this by creating connections with area employers who are willing to employ ex
offenders. Connections such as these, along with other connections with churches and reentry
coalitions, are extremely useful for ODRC and a crucial contributor to its efforts. They assist in
providing support and care for individuals reentering the community. Another aspect that was
mentioned by Jones as a challenge to the mission of ODRC is the overall negative environment. As he
mentioned, for much of his time with ODRC, he worked in the institutions with the offenders during
their incarceration time. As one can imagine, these are not, generally, positive environments. This
negative environment within prisons is a hinderance to the goal of ODRC. This is combatted by
programs ODRC employs within the walls, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there is still a long way to go in terms of progress. The programs it implements with
involved individuals go through changes as what works and what does not work comes to light. Not
only does the department have further improvements to make, but the community, itself, must make
changes too in order to assist ODRC in its mission. For, this mission cannot be accomplished without
the cooperation of the community. These changes, although easily mentioned here, are not easy to

Fight Or Flight Response Theory
Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to
cause pain, or a threat. There is a very great variety as to the degree of fear and trouble that persons
are exercised with before they obtain any comfortable evidence of pardon and acceptance with God.
Fear is something that can result into a persons reaction or inaction. An example of this is Fight or
flight this was first described in the 1920s by American physiologist Walter Cannon. The fight or flight
response, or the acute stress response, refers to a physiological reaction that occurs in the presence of
something that is terrifying, either mentally or physically. The response is triggered by the release of
hormones that prepare your body to either stay and deal with a threat or to run away to safety. The
fight or flight response realized that a chain of rapidly occurring reactions inside the body helped to
mobilize the body s resources to deal with threatening circumstances.Today the fight or flight response
is recognized as part of the first stage of Hans Selye s general adaptation syndrome, a theory
describing the stress response.
Though fear is a negative emotion the concept of the use of fear can be both negative and positive in
its relationship to society. Fear is usually a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A few seconds of elevated heart rate is common before feeling a sense of pride, infatuation, love and
maternal love. From an evolutionary perspective, the emotion of fear protected humans from predators
and other threats to the survival of the species. So it is no wonder that certain dangers evoke that
emotion, since fear helps protect you and is therefore adaptive, functional, and necessary. However,
there is another important aspect of emotions to consider that, in the case of fear, may be important to
decision making as well as

Digital Music Piracy
Digital Music Piracy
Can t Stop, Won t Stop
Digital music piracy, or the unlawful downloading of copyrighted music, has been a controversial
topic for more than a decade now. The issue was first brought to attention in 1998 when Shawn
Fanning created Napster. Though the MP3 file was originally developed in 1987, Napster represented
the first mainstream and user friendly program to transfer and download these files. Napster, a peer to
peer (P2P) program, allowed online users to connect with one another and swap copyrighted music,
videos, and other files contained on their computers, thus providing a way to get free music online.

(19) There is no doubt that downloading and CD R burning are cutting into sales, and that it is the
major means by which the majority of artists make a living from. Although touring is another source
of income it is impossible for it to fund an entire career. There are of course, some artists that are
reaching stardom and able to make a very substantial living, but as the CRIA said, for the industry that
has invested in them, those profits are turned right back into funding new artists. So if consumers want
a wide variety of music and their favorite artists to succeed, than they must support them by buying
their music, plain and simple. So what can be done to decrease music piracy? Besides creating new
laws, and suing P2P websites for copyright infringement there are other fronts being explored. On the
technological front labels are working with several companies in creating a more secure music format.
One example is DRM wrapped digital files and streams. A process used to limit the usage of digital
content. Other options include copy protected CD s, and products like Data Play, DVD Audio and
SACD, which basically only allow access of information to one specific user. On the commercial side
of the fight, record companies are beginning to offer much lower prices, new legitimate digital
services, as well as many special features like

Implementing Nationwide Health Enrichment Goals And...
Initial Post: Access to healthcare
Paula Moran Lally Healthy People 2020 aims to establish nationwide health enrichment goals and
increase public knowledge regarding the indicators for health, disease and disabilities while
supporting opportunities for enhancement (Nies McEwen, 2015). One of the most crucial goals Access
to Health Care has been highlighted in lieu of the fact that in 2014 the United States health care
system needed to provide the 32 million uninsured Americans with needed health insurance for the
first time as a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Healthy People 2020, 2012). The ACA has
formulated a four part system build around Medicare, Medicaid, employer sponsored insurance and
the new state based insurances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many key components in approaching access to health care: coverage, services, timeliness
and workforce (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Patients who have a positive and consistent source of
care will ultimately have better end results, minor discrepancies and fewer costs (Healthy People
2020, 2015). Timeliness is the health system s capability to optimize services in a convenient manner,
whether it embraces the time spent either waiting in a doctor s office or an emergency department. At
the same time for many patients it encompasses the time between analyzing the need for tests or
treatment and obtaining those results. Working as an ER nurse there has been incredible long waiting
times in emergency rooms secondary to the fact that people are using the ER for care and more
notably as their primary care physician. Likewise prolonged Emergency department wait times can
decrease patient satisfaction and notably people leave without been seen. Finally the different element
of workforce is vital in contributing access to health services. Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) play an
important role in providing access to health services and it has been noted that many medical students
are leaning away from working in primary care (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Our ultimate goal is to
direct them towards that needed profession. The Healthy People 2020 leading health

Examples Of Digging By Seamus Heaney
Death of a Naturalist was concerned with the notion of growing up and loss of innocence. Seamus
Heaney describes the childhood experience differently as the child grows and changes perception of
nature from love to fear. Similarly, in Digging , Heaney presents himself as a child who studies
through writing, in contrast to his father and his grandfather who dig into the ground. Heaney s father
and grandfather use their shovels to work with the land, while Heaney uses his pen to write poetries. It
is clear that Heaney is not going to follow his father s legacy, digging , he is going to have a different
profession.
Seamus Heaney explores the amusement and happiness of a child discovering nature: There were

For example, By God, the old man can handle a spade, just like his old man. This line is metaphor and
Heaney is complimenting his father and grandfather that they are the best diggers , as the language it
uses is colloquial because this line strongly suggest about Heaney s family and it sounds like Heaney
is trying to impress his father and grandfather s digging skills. Also, By God , this implies Heaney s
amazement and it grabs readers attention and shows how much admiration Heaney has for his father
and grandfather s digging skill. This makes the reader feel empathetic because just working does not
simply mean it is important, but tradition too to work as part of the family tradition and carry father s

In the latest trade rumor, they seem to be still not satisfied with their current lineup and said to be moving to acquire the services of Paul George from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for 3 players. The Celtics, who is one of the busiest team in the trade market during the offseason, are still hoping to land another superstar that could help them contend with other teams. Though they got one of the biggest acquisition last summer in Al Horford, the team looks to be restless trying to come up a formidable lineup. And with many tradeable assets at their disposal, rumors are saying that the Celtics could make a run to get George from the Pacers. • 3. Managing Business Intelligence Applications Portfolio I was the first one from my family to attend a college. After an undergraduate degree in electronics and communication engineering, I thought I had achieved the education goal of my life. Soon I entered the work place as a junior scientist in a privately held electronics materials research company and I realized that management degree was the key to rise through ranks in a company. I started preparation for entrance exams, left the job, went back to school and earned an MBA with Finance as major. The management degree complemented my technical mindset and gave me a whole new perspective to the business and the work. After a couple of years in Finance and accounting job, I got big break at Oracle consulting as a software consultant. I spent next many years focusing on learning application technology, understanding business processes, solving business problems, and travelling the world. Currently I manage business intelligence applications portfolio at one of the largest retailer in US. During recent business updates I saw many business opportunities that were enabled by technology such as cloud computing, mobility and big data. Trust me I had a déjà vu and my inner self called for immediate action to prepare myself to leverage such opportunities for career growth and job satisfaction. • 4. The Angel Of Death By Alane Ferguson The Angel of Death Reaction The book The Angel of Death by Alane Ferguson is an intense and gripping story due to its mystery and action in the book. The book is mainly about a mysterious death surrounding the main character s favorite teacher with no leads or cause of death. The book keeps you engaged by adding things that you least expect about the case as the book goes on. Some positives or likes I had while reading are as follows below. One like I had about the book was the description of the murder. The eye sockets were empty. (pg. 43) This helps you envision the body, how they found it in the book. Another like I had with the book is, She bought a car, Cam. She s left New York. (pg.73) The aspect of her long lost mother rushing to see her the entire story adds more suspense. The last thing I enjoyed about the book is, Kyle s hand reached in front of her and snapping it shut with a small click. (pg.232). It was extremely predictable that Cammie s mom would save her in the end. The last thing I disliked in the book was the character of the deputy in the book, Kill two birds with one stone. The Pros And Cons Of The Republican And The Democratic Party INTRODUCTION: The United States is surely understood for its two party political framework, where Republicans continually contend with Democrats, attempting to advance their political beliefs, and scanning the methods for keeping up their ceaseless political authority. In spite of the conventional perspective that the Republican and the Democratic Party are totally distinctive, they can discover concession to various political and social issues. • 8. Anger Between Anger And Anger Anger can be defined in a multitude of ways, as well as seen in a variety of different perspectives. Anger can most commonly be defined as a feeling of tension and hostility that may have been caused by anxiety due to unwanted actions from someone or something that is perceived to be offensive, threatening, or against one s beliefs. (1) Witnessing this emotion typically leads to an emotional reaction that can be seen as extreme rage, displeasure, and hostility. This is caused because when one is angry, you instantly feel the urge to retaliate back. Another way that expressing anger can be seen as a positive feeling is that it can be used as a reinforcer. After doing further studying, it was able to be inferred that reinforcement is more beneficial than punishment. This can be shown through the action of expressing anger. When your child does not do their chores, it is expected that a parent becomes angry when their child to do what they are told. When the parent expresses their anger towards their child, it overcomes the child and helps to reinforce the rule of doing their chores. By displaying anger to the child, it will allow them to learn that they need to follow the rules because they do not want to see their parent with that tone anymore. (Becourtney, 2006 2011) Anger can also be seen as a positive feeling because it allows people to overcome a state of hurt. All anger does not consist of throwing things, being physically violent, and speaking loudly. Expressing anger can also be expressed by isolating oneself from someone because they are hurt. Furthermore, when someone passes away many people go through the dwelling stage. You can experience something similar when dealing with anger. In the positive aspect anger allows one to express feelings that they may have been holding in from a person. This allows for solutions to the problem to be solved. (American ... • 15. Jean Pierre Corteggiani From The French Institute Of... Jean Pierre Corteggiani from the French Institute of Oriental Archeology states that the Nile is therefore life itself to Egypt. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was that gods spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to agriculture. As new techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production increased as well. Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden age of ancient Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a pharaoh could have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. Under their commands, gigantic pyramids were constructed. However, the logic of the edification of those pyramids and their builders are still a mystery. It is 2013, and it is clear apparent that it is a recession longing to be cured. Through the works of Putnam, Sum et. al., Wisman, and Colander, we can better understand this crisis and look for the best way to get out of it. To begin, Robert Putnam describes what has occurred in the U.S. over the past several decades. He states that over the past several decades the U.S. has been subject to [an] economic and cultural [entanglement] a mixture of government, private sector, community and personal failings (Putnam 2013, III). Putnam believes that this financial crisis occurred as a result of layoffs, and many closings of businesses (Putnam 2013, 2). We can further this understanding by turning to Sum, et. al., who believed that the crisis occurred due to the blue collar workers who have lost their jobs, and might never see those jobs again (Sum, et. al. 2010, 6). Our next economist to turn to is John D. Wisman. In his article he describes what he believes to be the cause of the crisis. He states that this recession occurred centered upon inadequate regulation stemming from laissez faire ideology, and low interest rates (Wisman 2013, 921). He further points out that an underlying effect of wage stagnation and dramatically increasing inequality in the US over the past 35 years may also be a cause. This is often regarded as the oldest profession of the world with evidence dating back to Ancient Babylon and Sumer. With each succeeding major civilization, prostitution became more developed, refined, and subjected to regulation; Ancient Rome being no exception. Prostitution is often an undiscussed section of society when discussing past cultures. It is that very reason I chose to write on this subject as practiced in Rome. In Ancient Rome, a society of morality and pride, it is ironic that what is typically seen as a degrading practice, was practiced, widely tolerated, and regulated by the state. Prostitution, while not an integral part of Roman society, helps offer insight into not only the Roman economy, but also entertainment and private life. Despite all the inappropriate aspects of Alice in Wonderland, it is more than filled with appropriate aspects such as imagination, educational value, teaching children the importance of trust and relationships and being themselves. Alice made many friends along the way and learnt important life lessons during her adventure. It is important for children to read and learn what Alice in Wonderland has to teach. Children are sheltered from reality and kept in their own little world filled with nothing but comfort and happiness, and then somewhere between childhood and adulthood, they re thrown into reality. A reality they have been told is unsafe and full of cruelty and then the children are expected to be comfortable and know their way around. Children are not born capable of understanding the pain, fear and loss that is a part of the real world, and its essential for them to be taught how to prepare for life. Less time needs to be spent on teaching children to fear the dark, monsters and other such things, and instead more time needs to be spent on teaching children to fear realistic things such as bankruptcy, mean individuals and the lack of acceptance in society. As from the heading, you can imagine it s something related to minerals and their origin. As we all know, Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago. There were no minerals, in fact, even no kind of solids were there. Years passed by, new mineral generating processes came into play which resulted into development of Earth s diverse mineralogy. Earth today, in contrast, have nearly more than 4,400 mineral species. Still, there are more to be discovered. Still, there are many question in our mind, how did these all things happened? What caused Earth s diversification? To answer all these questions, Robert M. Hazen presented this new framework. According to Hazen, Nonliving world is a stage on which life plays out its evolutionary drama . This research was necessary to understand Earth s history as a frame for understanding minerals and all the stages and process that created them. Methods: According to Hazen, Over the past four and a half billion years Earth has passed through series of stages in which more and more minerals developed. Here, Evolution of Earth and its minerals has been analyzed, which are divided into stages Making of Earth, Black Earth, Red Earth, White Earth, Green Earth. But not only has Earth been effected, Mars, the moon Titan, and most importantly Venus. Because Venus is so closely related to Earth, scientist have used Venus s problem to predict what could happen to Earth in the future. Most of Venus s problem come from being so close to the sun, the thickness of its atmosphere, and its past experience with the Runaway Greenhouse Effect. The definition of greenhouse effect is, as the planet absorbs the sun s energy, it also releases a different form of energy called radiation which gets absorbed by the greenhouse gases making the atmosphere warmer. One of the main Greenhouse gases is Carbon Dioxide, which is very effective at trapping heat in an atmosphere, and is being added to the atmosphere faster than Venus can naturally remove it. Second, being responsible yields great rewards and acting responsible is a clear sign of maturity. One preliminary plan that a student can design to achieve academic success is goal setting. Goal setting allows the student to define their academic goals and to devise a plan that will accommodate their collegiate career. One way to make goals effective is to examine them up close. It has become first line treatment for asthma due to its effectiveness. I met this drug in a dispensing session in the first term and I think is a good example of what we have learnt so far. In this essay I will tell you what I know about this drug. Salbutamol is sold in its sulphate form and is marketed as a racemic product. According pharmaceutical chemistry this means that in it, it has 50% of the R enantiomer and 50% of the S enantiomer. However, only the R enantiomer is active at the β receptors. It is thought that the S enantiomer is inactive or causes adverse effects. Because of this, the pure R enantiomer was marketed levalbuterol. β receptor agonists are used in the treatment of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to relax the muscles in the air passages in the lungs. Salbutamol is a selective β2 adrenergic agonist, although this selectivity is relative and dose dependent. This means that the selectivity is lost at high concentration and thus causing side effects. Albuterol has affinity to β 2 receptors and binds to them, causing a relaxation effect. β2 receptors are members of the adrenergic family of receptors and therefore its effects are caused by an interaction with G proteins. β ... Chief Justice Warren declared the Separate but Equal doctrine unconstitutional, thereby moving the nation one step closer to a more integrated society. However, despite Brown s monumental win for racial equality, it is undoubtedly obvious that the Court overstepped its boundaries in trying to push for progress. In Brown, the Court was unjustified in its actions to overrule Plessy v Ferguson (Plessy) (1896) and violated its constitutional limit in order to promote racial integration in public education. Discussing the ambiguities of determining one s race proved irrelevant to this case for Plessy s race wasn t explicitly stated on the record (Urofsky, 186). Also, the altercation between the conductor and Plessy had nothing to do with the Conductor s ability to determine Plessy s race because it was Plessy who self identified as being colored (Urofsky, 186). Lastly, regarding the constitutionality of the Separate but Equal doctrine, Justice Brown believed racial separation to be different from racial subordination (Urofsky, 187). He explained that the feeling of inferiority solely derives from how Black Americans perceive the doctrine, and not from the actual doctrine itself (Urofsky 187). This decision in Plessy legitimized racial segregation and upheld the constitutionality of Louisiana s doctrine. By the time Brown rolled around, America was in dire need of a remedy caused by the aftermath of Plessy. The poem describes the lynching of black slaves, which was generally presented to an audience of whites. Billie Holiday, a black female artist, would sing the poem to a predominantly upper class white club. But strangely, the poem was written by a white man, Abel Meeropol. Although the last confirmed lynching was in 1968, there are other forms of racially motivated killings and violence in the United States today such as police brutality and the race riots formed by white supremacist in Charlottesville. White America is linked and always will be to the history of black killings. To understand what some of the lynching s could have looked like, Meeropol made the poem very vivid with many examples of imagery within it as well as the many dark metaphors he placed throughout the poem. To understand why Strange Fruit transpired in the first place, it is important to realize the terrible acts committed during the 1930s. The first slave ship sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1619 and from then on, slavery would be etched into the history of America. For 246 years, slaves worked in numerous fields of crops while being sold, traded, raped, and killed. This quote by vaccine advocate Amy Parker, a woman who was not vaccinated as a child, shows just a glimpse into the life of an unvaccinated individual. Parents who do not vaccinate their children claim many different reasons for their decision. Three of the most popular reasons are: religious grounds, health problems as a result from vaccines, and the belief that the illnesses are rare. Each of these reasons can be proven as nonessential in the anti vaccine argument. First of all, religion has become a frequently used excuse. Recently, a case arose in New York City when three families obtained vaccination exemptions due to religious reasons (NYC Court 1). Because they chose to not vaccinate their children, their children were not allowed to attend school during times when another student had a vaccine preventable illness (NYC Court 1). Naturally, this sparked an uproar among the parents, who then sued the city by claiming it was a violation of their First Amendment right to religious freedom and their 14th Amendment right to equal protection under the law (NYC Court 1). The dogma of several mainstream religions references vaccines and whether or not they are necessary. For example, the Catholic Church strongly supports vaccination, even making it a moral and ... Odrc Recidivism According to Jones, the most challenging aspect of ODRC s goal of reducing recidivism is employment of individuals once they are released from their institution back into the community. This relates back to the views of the community in that, much of society does not want to associate with ex offenders. This includes within employment. Individuals who have been incarcerated have a much harder time finding employment than do most others due to their record. However, according to Jones, ODRC is combating this by creating connections with area employers who are willing to employ ex offenders. Connections such as these, along with other connections with churches and reentry coalitions, are extremely useful for ODRC and a crucial contributor to its efforts. They assist in providing support and care for individuals reentering the community. Another aspect that was mentioned by Jones as a challenge to the mission of ODRC is the overall negative environment. Our ultimate goal is to direct them towards that needed profession. The Healthy People 2020 leading health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
