Macbeth s Motives
`Macbeth, the Scottish play, is one of the most famous plays that William Shakespeare
composed. It is also a controversial play within theatre. Many actors believe the play is cursed
because when it was originally performed on stage, the actor of Macbeth died on stage! Now
actors believe in the myth that if the word Macbeth is said during rehearsal or the performance,
something terribly wrong will happen to the show! That is how many people know about the
Scottish play!
Macbeth is a very complicated story! There are many characters and each character each
has a motive. Some of them have good motives, and some are not good. Some of the characters
change their motive. Macbeth seemed to change his motive. Every person who reads Macbeth ...

I think Macbeth likes the prophecy that the witches told him. He
would be in charge of the country and have control and power! Everyone would want to have the
power! I think that power can change a person though! It can make you greedy and Macbeth did
whatever he could to make the prophecy come true.
What the witches told Macbeth could be true or not! The witches have tricked men before
and lied and said they were sharing a prophecy but it was a lie! Macbeth never worried that the
witches were lying to him! I like what they told him and he chose to believe them! After he
became thane, he knew that the third prophecy will come true! Macbeth thinks if he makes it
come true or not, it will! But Macbeth began to think he must make the prophecy come true
himself. The only way he thought he could be king is if the king died. His wife wants this
prophecy to come true too for her husband. She agrees to sacrifice and kill the king, so Macbeth
does not have to do it. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth both plan to kill the king. This is the part of
the play that it turns to a tragedy. It is a tragedy for the king because he dies but it is also a
tragedy because this is when Macbeth starts to change. He allows his thoughts to control

Causes Of The American Revolution Dbq
The American Revolution was the culmination of tension between the free thinking and developing
Colonists and the dominating and tax imposing British. The war lasted from 1776 to 1783, but the
most important part of the war was the events leading up to it, in which Colonists began to develop
democratic thoughts about their social, political, economic, and religious life. People began to
understand democratic ideas and it s benefits, and many decided to make an active effort to increase
the amount of democracy in their life. Democratic is defined as favoring or characterized by social
equality. A democratic lifestyle is a fair and equal one, and the years leading up to the revolution
brought a democratic environment to the Colonies. Despite lack of greater property distribution, the
1700s brought great democratic change to Colonial America, which experienced a democratic
movement religiously in the separation of church and state, which led to social changes including
slavery and new thinking, that led to democratic and intellectual political reforms.
Although wealth and property distribution were not changed democratically, the ideas relating to
property distribution and commercial success were democratic and showed democratic progress. A
chart of the wealthiest adult white males in Wethersfield in 1756 and 1775 shows the rich people in
the town staying rich, as 4 out of the 5 wealthiest people kept the wealth within their families
(Document D). The wealthy citizens stayed

Frieze Of Dancers
Frieze of Dancers is a unique that piece that ties together many of the elements of art and principles of
design. Some elements, such as time and motion, stand out more than others, but that does not change
how diverse this composition is. This painting is 27 7/8 inches tall and 78 7/8 inches wide meaning
that an average sized person would be taller than the painting, but would be smaller than the dancers
when measured from left to right. However, the dancers themselves are relatively the same size when
compared to each other. Each girl takes up a specific amount of space making them seem larger, and
the background almost non existent. The space surrounding the girls is undefined; the floor and the
wall blend together into a light brown background. This light brown is a part of a grander color
scheme that includes darker browns and oranges. Altogether the colors within the painting are muted
with no bright colors. Instead the artist chose to use browns and grays which seems to give the
painting a more realistic and serious air. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lines are not connected to each other, but the lines that are visible help to define the figures and
separate them from the background. Most of the lines found within the painting are implied, and
created by use of shadowing. This is evident in the thigh of the third dancer from the left and the skirts
of the first and second ballerina (also from the left). The third ballerina s leg is clearly defined, but it is
not defined by the lines; it is defined using darker grays. The use of the darker colors creates a shadow
that is not a clear line, but gives the viewer an idea that a line should be there. The layers of the skirts
of the first and second dancers are also defined by shadow rather than by actual lines. These lines also
give the skirts a fluffy texture; making them seem fuller than they

A Jazz Concert Report
An Evening of Jazz
On November 17th, 2016, I attended a jazz concert and had quite a time. The experience was
captivating, and gave me a warm feeling inside. There were three different bands that play in the hour
slot, and all of them sounded magnificent, but The Santé Fe Jazz Combo and Santa Fe Big Band stood
out the most. The only thing these two bands have in common is that some of the musicians play in
both bands. Otherwise, these jazz fanatics are polar opposites.
When listening to The Santé Fe Jazz Combo, you get a mellow feeling that courses through your body.
Their opener Recorda Me, which was my favorite piece, featured solos from Dr. Hamilton on Piano,
Spencer Hoefert on Guitar, Ben Salhanick on Bass, Doc B on Alto Sax, Wyatt Thomas on Trombone,
and Noah Woolard on Drum Set. The song had a moderate swing tempo that kept your feet tapping up
until the solo. First, the brass rang through their part, then the electric instruments. Next came the
bass; he was strumming so fast but he was barely audible. The pianist busting through with a tricky
piano rift and the drummer finished it off with an intense solo. Every rim shot sent a jolt into the air
like lightning and the buzz rolls sounded like thunder. Noah s part reminded me why I love playing the
drums. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawrence. The big band spiced it up when they quickened the tempo on this usually slow song. Santé
Fe Big Band was a crowd favorite and I completely understand why. Opposed to The Santé Fe Jazz
Combo , Santé Fe Big Band plays with speed. To accommodate the band, Gerald Bigas provided
smooth vocals that mixed beautifully with the hefty brass section. The whole ensemble s collaboration
was effortless. Right when you think it is over, Michael Gray comes out with a Soprano Saxophone
and plays a smooth solo that sends you into a nostalgic episode of watching the Finding Nemo

On 7th December 2014 I undertook an 11 week internship in Cambodia with the Jesuit Refugee
Service. The internship was arranged through Macquarie University s Participation and Community
Engagement (PACE) program, and undertaken for academic credit as part of the Bachelor of Laws
study program.
Australian Volunteers International (AVI) partnered with PACE to offer logistical assistance and
student training. Pre and post departure training involved modules such as working ethically in
developing countries, building cultural sensitivity, and developing self care practices. In country
training modules included Cambodia s history, current political and social movements, and law and
governance in Cambodia. Weekly Khmer language lessons were also undertaken while in Cambodia.
The internship was offered to twelve law students who demonstrated academic competency and a
broad range of personal attributes including interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to
teamwork, cultural sensitivity, leadership, personal drive and motivation. The internship was
predominately based in Phnom Penh, and involved travel to Siam Reap, Battambang, and Ratanakiri
provinces.

challenge for communities because of limited available funds (pp. 104). However, communities have
access to federal funding that will assist them in the expansion of mutual assistance practices where
communities share equipment that is rarely used. Also, there is the development of effective
technologies and the significant reduction in cost has allowed the once out of reach equipment to be
more available (pp. 104). It is paramount that community members and officials are equipped to
conduct the tasks required of them. Therefore, training is a pivotal component as the businesses and
nongovernmental organizations operating in the community are called upon to assist in the overall
community response. The Community Emergency Response (CERT) ... Show more content on

The importance of the community s involvement in emergency management has propelled FEMA to
introduce the Whole Community concept in December 2011 in disaster preparedness (pp. 108). This
approach engages all members of the community including individuals, government at all levels,
organizations, businesses, community groups and others involved in preparing the community as a
whole to deal with disasters. It is the philosophical belief of FEMA that utilizing leveraging all the
resources of the the collective team in the community will help to prepare, protect, respond to and
recover from, and mitigate against all disasters. The engagement of the community in an authentic
dialogue will also empower individuals to identify their needs, the existing resources and find out
ways to address any shortfall in them. FEMA also reinforces that with the community s involvement,
FEMA is better able to reach and deliver services more efficiently and cost effectively to those
affected in a disaster.
One of the most important concerns of community members is how they will evacuate in the event of
a disaster. FEMA has developed the National Prevention Framework (NPF) that outlines the whole
community approach to a disaster discovery of intelligence or information regarding an imminent
threat to homeland and security. Although, communities have participated in some form of evacuation
planning as part of emergency management, not many have been able to conduct a

The Importance Of Industrial Percolation
fine, fine, and extra fine) [10]. The desired size in percolation in industrial level would be around 1.4
1.5 mm as referred to regular grinding in some text. The particle size will be also considered after
dehydration since it is important for solubility and other aspects.
3. Brewing
Brewing or sometimes referred to as percolation is the infusion of hot water in the ground coffee to
extract the aromatic and organic compounds from the coffee ground at approximately 100 °C and
101.3 kPa. Similar to the coffee maker at home, industrial percolation has larger quantity but also
performed at a slightly higher pressure and temperature sometimes. The reason that higher working
pressure and temperature would be because of the higher efficiency, and higher extraction percentage
of the desired compounds (solid content from 36 46 %). Cold brewing is also available with slightly
higher pressure (17 °C and 338 kPa). Higher yield of solid content could be reached by percolation at
200 °C and 1500 kPa. The latter would be higher capital cost operation, but also effective in extracting
more volatile compounds [11].
a. Aroma recovery
Aroma recovery usually follows the percolation process, where heat exchangers are used to cooling
down the steam coming from the brewing process. It should be mentioned that the target is short
extraction time with low temperature to retain as much as possible of the aromatic and volatile
compounds such as 4 vinyl guaiacol, 4 ethylguaiacol, 2 ethyl 3,

Italian Opera vs. French Opera
According to R. Wagner opera does not mean so much a musical work, as a musical, poetical, and
spectacular work all at once; opera is the work par excellence, to the production of which all the arts
are necessary (Sutherland, 1). Opera starts not with music but with its literary source (story or plot),
whether it be history, biography, fiction, or mythology in the form of poem, play, drama, novel, or
original libretto (Knapp 6). Opera is a combination of mangled drama, the singers, the music and
many different arts (Knapp, 3). An opera is not an opera without the music. The musical
representation uplifts the words and adds magic to an opera (Knapp 3). The two major components of
an opera are the human singers and the orchestra. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now the French Opera was totally different from the Italian opera. In the French opera the instruments
were more of a focus than the singers. The drama was spoken rather than sung. It was performed on a
tired stage, the high as being reserved for paradise (and the singers), the middle one for earth, and
lowest one for hell (Demuth 4). An operatic a resource that was often overlooked, was dancing. In the
French Opera singing aspect and the orchestra aspect are on the same level as dancing. Dancing isn t
really a major part of the Italian opera (Knapp 10). French Opera was extremely popular, but only to
the French. It wasn t as popular as German opera or Italian opera. This was mainly because in the
French Opera the drama came first and the music came second. The French language was notoriously
difficult to sing properly because of its lack of strong accents (Knapp 201). To the French, words and
actions were far more important than the music so the composers have really allowed the orchestra to
overpower the voice and assume the dominant role in the opera (Knapp 202). In the French operas you
would never see the singing overwhelming the action. At its best, the French Opera offers the unity of
music, drama, and spectacle the art seeks but seldom attains (Knapp 202). It is live, it is deep and it
has something

The Tempest Reoccurring Theme Essay
Shakespeare s The Tempest has reoccurring themes that could point toward the end of his career,
including control and imprisonment. These are shown through multiple relationships: Prospero and his
daughter, Prospero with Caliban and Ariel, and his relationship with magic to get what he wants.
Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, escaped to the island twelve years before the play beings. In this
relationship, he has kept his daughter ignorant of who he used to be the Duke of Milan and why they
are exiled to the island. He only tells her after he conjures a storm to cause a shipwreck of the men
who caused him to be banished. This relationship has not only kept her away from the danger she
could be in as the rightful princess of Milan, but it

Modern Art And African Art
There is a clear connection between modern art and African art. African symbols, shapes, and
ideologies influence paintings, textiles, and sculptures. However, not many discuss comics within the
traditional definition of art. The medium of comics boomed after the Great Depression with
Superman. A time of hardship, the Depression left people needing something to believe in. Since the
beginning of time people have used storytelling and mythology to explain the world around them.
After the Depression with the birth of Superman, superheros were no different. Superheros are modern
mythologies, a phrase coined by Richard Reynolds. In his book, Super Heroes: A Modern
Mythologies, he refers to Roland Barters essay Myth Today, which points out that mythology
represents culture as nature to explain the political and social anatomy of societies. Superheroes
contribute to this concept by using science and magic to create a sense of mythical wonder. Reynolds
uses the example of Thor, who is a god trapped on earth in the body of a scientist with a walking stick
as punishment from his father Odin. Throughout the comic book universe there are heroes that not
only draw from Norse mythology, but Native American, Hindu, and Greco Roman mythology as well.
One has to wonder if there is a connection between superheroes and African mythology. The Yoruban
orishas of Nigeria, which parallel the mythologies listed previously contains different deities each

In the year 2009, there were 39.6 million adults who were 65 years or older. Baby Boomers made up
about 12.9% of the population or roughly 1 in every 8 humans. By the year 2030, this number is

...Lighting can and will make a greater difference in the success of a healthcare setting than any other
single feature except the healthcare itself (Brawley, 2008, Page, 5).
Light levels in Nursing homes must be increased to make up for the loss of visual acuity that occurs
within the aging eye. In order to provide the needed amount of light for older adults, light levels need
to be raised, balancing of natural light and artificial light must occur, as well as the elimination of
glare. The elimination of glare is critical. As adults age, glare and reflection become real problems and
play key roles in contributing to agitation, confusion, and anger; this in turn, inhibits activity and
compromises safety (Brawley, 2006, Page 8).
When designing an elder care facility, designers and architects should be very conscious of the LRV
(Light Reflectance Values) within a space. LRV is a measurement taken of the usable light reflected
from a surface when illuminated (Wikipedia, 2013). For a more energy efficient lighting solution,
ceiling should be placed at 9 10 feet high. In conglomeration to this, use of lighter more reflective
paint should be used in a ceiling so that at least 80% of the light is reflected back down to the surface.

Malcolm Gladwell s Influence On Black Youth
Ready To Outlie Either you re slinging crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot
. A strong and
profound message that resonated in the minds of black youth during the end of the 20th century. It
meant that, as a black youth, you had to either be a successful drug hustler or an amazing athlete to
live comfortable financially. Young Christopher Wallace, a boy growing up in Brooklyn, New York
during the rise of crack, was set on becoming rich and this was his formula for doing so. He was far
too overweight for sports and besides, hustling crack gave a much quicker payout (Coker). So if
selling drugs was, in his opinion, the only means of hitting it rich, why is the above quote not being
cited as coming from Christopher Wallace: Drug ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though Gladwell is correct in telling us that opportunity is a key component to success, his emphasis
on the importance of opportunity and less on a person s own individuality and character traits, is
absurd. A person s traits are important because they are characteristics upon which talent is dependent,
and talent is no less an important factor to success than opportunity is. If a talent without opportunity
leads to little to no achievement, then what kind of outcome does one get from opportunities without
talent? The opportunities that Wallace received as Biggie Smalls were simple, and ones that Gladwell
would most certainly agree with. Like hundreds of other black youths, Biggie grew up in the 1980s,
during the golden age of hip hop. Hip hop, to young blacks and the recently paroled, was a means of
leaving the streets and a life of poverty ( Remembering the Golden Age of Hip hop. ). He took to
rapping on street corners, which was also a popular thing to do at the time ( Notorious B.I.G. Bigger
Than Life ). The biggest opportunity of his life was probably Sean Puffy Combs insistence that he be
signed to a record deal. But why Biggie Smalls and not the countless other young rappers, such as
Chico Del Vec and Lonnie Common Lyn, who also rapped on the street corners of New York, given
the same opportunity? Furthermore, how did he become so successful despite being an overweight,
dark black kid with a lazy eye during a time when hip hop was

Jesse Owens- More than a Great Athlete Essay
Jesse Owens is one of the most well known runners to ever set foot on a track. He battled his way into
the Olympics. He proved to the world that it doesn t matter where you come from. He stood apart
from all the other runners, black or white. not because of the records he set, the titles he earned, or the
medals he gained, but because of the way he gave people hope. For what he did for races all over the
world, Jesse Owens truly was the greatest man alive. Jesse was never thought of as a runner. He was a
sickly child; the Devil s Cold is what his mother called it. That didn t stop him, though. He began to
run. Quarter miles were his best race. As a fourth grade kid, he won everything his grade and below.

The horses just ran. It was that day that Jesse Owens was born. He began winning. He stopped staring
down his opponents and put his energy into running. During his junior high years, he had to practice
before school because of his job after school. In his high school, he established a world record in the
100 meter dash and the long jump in the National High School Championship. He could barely make
enough money to live on for him and his young wife, Ruth. He attended Ohio State University, where
he was nicknamed The Buckeye Bullet. He won a record of eight NCAA Championships. Even during
his success, he wasn t allowed to live on campus. He also had to eat at black only restaurants. That
didn t crush his spirit, though. At the Big Ten meet in 1935, he set three world records and tied a
fourth. That was when he qualified for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Adolf Hitler was in charge at that
time and he certainly did not like African Americans. When Jesse won his heat, he wasn t invited up to
his box like the other winners, nor was he given any sort of acknowledgement. The next day, during
the finals, Hitler wouldn t shake any runner s hand so no one would think that he was ignoring Owens.
Everyone knew it, though. Jesse knew it too, even though he pretended it didn t bother him.
Americans were livid. They had the greatest runner of all time in there and Hitler wouldn t even look

Causes of the French Revolution Essay
Causes of the French Revolution There is no doubt that the French Revolution has had a profound
effect on the world. The cause or causes of it have been greatly disputed. Clearly the Revolution s
primary cause was the presence of a weak monarchy and a lack of a stable system of government.
France s absolute monarchy had many changes toward the end of the eighteenth century. Louis XIV, in
his attempts to centralize his authority and also lessen the power of the aristocrats, had planned out an
intendant system. The intendants were like governors. They would oversee one region of the country.
These intendants did not govern the region in which they lived and were chosen from other than the
aristocracy. This insured that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were three divisions or classes in France. These classes were called estates. The first estate
which was composed of church officials, had great power and obtained enormous salaries. Church
officials obtained their salaries via taxes collected from church property. Therefore, since the officials
received their salaries from the church property, they did not have to pay taxes. The second estate was
mainly composed of nobility. They too were exempt from paying taxes. This left the tax burden upon
the third estate. The third estate consisted of some merchants and entrepreneurs; however, the majority
were peasants. Corruption of the estates was causing much frustration among the common people who
composed 70 percent of the population. The monarchy tried to make an attempt to give the third estate
power. The monarchy established the Estate s General. This too, was corrupted. Unlike most
legislative bodies, the Estate s General did not vote by each person having a single vote. Rather, they
let each estate have one vote each. Since the first two estates were always in agreement, the third
estate was always out voted. This is a prime example of how the lack of a stable government had an
immensely tragic effect on the people of the country. If the monarchy had tried to make some reform
or if Louis XVI had more backbone to institute some tax reform to lessen the burden on the third

remain constant. Bill Peach then told Rogo to increase these profits by 15%, which means to keep the
plant open, he would need additional money. Rogo figured out the correct pricing so if material costs
were 344 dollars per unit, and a 1,000 dollar sales price, an additional 208 units would be sufficient to
reach the target and the factory would ultimately stay open and he would not lose his job and hundreds
of workers would not be out of work

The purpose of this first section is to truly make disciples out of our students. We want to instill in
them a desire to learn more about Christ and equip them to pursue a deeper knowledge of God on their
own. Students in the Discipleship Download section would meet once a week with a teacher either the
youth pastor or a trained volunteer. For four months they would go through the outlined curriculum in
order to cover all of the areas of importance. The classes would be formatted in a 45 60 minute setting
that would spend the first portion teaching and the second portion open for questions and discussion.
At the end of the four month period, the teacher would assess each of his/her students to ensure that
they have met all of the key objectives. This section would give special attention to five key areas of
growth: The Lordship of Christ, identity in Christ, worship, scripture, and prayer. The class sessions
would be designed in a way that gives special attention to these five key areas of growth, and they are
also represented in the key objectives that each student must meet at the end of the section.

Questions On English And Russian
In this essay, I will be discussing my experiences with modals in English and Russian. The purpose of
my project is to investigate the differences in the usage and meanings of modals between the two
languages. My focus will be on the modal, must, and what contexts it is mainly used for. I will start by
discussing what was particularly challenging about this project. Modals are a highly complex area of
grammar both in English and Russian. Several of the texts I have consulted for my project remark on
the difficulty of teaching and learning modals. In English, there is a certain level of ambiguity when it
comes to the meanings of modals. Depending on what context they are used in, modals can mean
several different things and fall into two main categories: epistemic of deontic (Haan, 1995). The
modal I am focusing on, must or dolžen, corresponds semantically only to the root or fictive modals in
English. This fact is the very core of great pedagogical difficulty in teaching these Russian modal
auxiliaries to English speaking students (Croft, 1975). Initially, it was challenging even finding
articles about Russian modals. The articles I discovered did not have a comprehensive list of Russian
modals which made it more difficult to understand. This area of grammar is widely studied in English,
but not so in Russian. Corpus investigations of modality in other languages is lagging behind, (Haan,
1995) which is why it was difficult to find a Russian corpus to analyze for

Child Marriage Should Be Legal
Children should be able to experience their childhood and be able to enjoy those worriless year not
worry about anything. Living life is not all about growing up, it about living and enjoys it to help
making yourself happy about what have accomplished and experience. A child should not have to
choose between their childhood and their parent or a religion. Both girls and boys are affected by child
marriage, but girls are affected in much larger numbers and with greater intensity. Child marriage is
seen across the country but it is far higher in rural than in urban areas. Girls from poorer families,
castes and tribes, and with lower education levels are more likely to marry at a younger age.
Child marriage has been a popular situation in India, which leads to so many children losing their
childhood and becoming an adult to fast. A child shouldn t be married off before they become women
because they grow up to fast and forget how to be child and become a woman with lot of responsible
to handle before reaching the age 18 year. When a child get marriage at a young age they re not
beneficial form anything that is happen them it s just hurting them. Being married so young limit their
opportunities and early marriages can lead to numerous medical and psychological problems,
particularly in relation to early child births where the mother is not physically mature. The
misconceptions about child is that people believe that the kids are living together, but when these girls

Irony In The Summoner s
Chaucer carefully shows us the Summoner, quaking with anger, after hearing the Friar s Tale, and
those pious readers who might have thought that the Friar s Tale veered close to the line of
blasphemous sin would likely have been straight out offended by the Summoner s. It is a bilious,
aggressive tale which does not even consider pulling its punches, and the Friar s contempt is roundly
quyt with a full on, unrelenting attack from the Summoner. Anality is a key ingredient in the tale,
potentially a reference to the possible interpretation of the General Prologue which argues that the
Summoner and Pardoner are engaged in a homosexual relationship. Regardless of whether this
reading is accepted, the prologue begins with a journey into the devil s arse, and the tale finds its
resolution with the division of a fart, first from Thomas arse, and then from the friar s. This journey
from arse to arse is only one of several ways in which the Summoner s Tale mechanically closes in on
itself, in precisely the way that the friar within it manages to bring about his own humiliation. There is
a neat irony in the way that the friar, after a lengthy lecture about anger management and doing away
with ire (anger) then becomes absolutely furious, looking as if he were a wilde boor . The structure of
the tale has a quitting like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the tale, the division of the fart is a challenge, the lord remarks, in ars metrike in the art
of measurement, but, as Seth Lerer, points out, a challenge too in the metrics of the arse. Moreover,
Jankin s vision of the friars gathered at the spokes of a huge wheel is actually a parody of the
Pentecost: the day where the twelve apostles receive the Holy Spirit as Christ ascends to heaven. It is,
one might suggest, a reworking of religion entirely appropriate to the piety of the friar (and even the
Summoner!) in

The Movie Hocus Pocus Was Directed By Kenny Ortega And The...
In the late 1940 s a man named Joseph Campbell shared his Mythic principal with the world. He
explains that there is a three stage formula that he calls a Hero Journey which is the structure of every
story. Though most stories are completely different on the outside, the stories are almost structured
around these three stages. Stage 1 is the hero leaves the everyday world and enters another world.
While Stage 2 the hero is challenged by opposing forces and must pass a series a test throughout the
movie. That will then determine who will be victorious, either the hero or the opposing forces. Stage 3
is tied into Stage 2 because if the hero is victorious, they will return to the ordinary world with a gift
for the world.
David Kirschner and Mick Garris fulfilled all the Hero s Journey steps. The movie Hocus Pocus was
directed by Kenny Ortega and is based on the Salem Witch trails back in Salem, Massachusetts in the
1600 s. On October 31, 1693, in Salem, Massachusetts, Thackery Binx discovers his sister Emily
being spirited away to the Sanderson Sisters cottage, a trio of witches. The sisters, Winifred, Sarah and
Mary, cast a spell on Emily to absorb her youth and regain their own, killing Emily. Binx confronts
them, but the witches transform him into an immortal black cat and to live with his guilt. The
townsfolk led by Binx s father, capture and hang the witches, but Winifred s spell book casts a curse

Summary Of The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock
In T. S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , the title alone is ironic because throughout the
poem Prufrock struggles with being unable to talk to anyone, yet the poem is supposed to be a love
song (Eliot). The epigraph of the poem is quoted directly from Dante s Inferno , the translation says If
I thought that my answer were being made to someone who would ever return to earth, this flame
would remain without further movement; but since no one has ever returned alive from this depth, if
what I hear is true, I answer you without fear of infamy (qtd. in Eliot). This quote correlates to the way
Prufrock tells us his fears and feelings due to the reader being unable to tell the people in the poem
what Prufrock says. In the first line, Prufrock says Let us go then, you and I (Eliot, ln. 1), the you in
the poem is not directly referred to as the reader or the recipient of the love song (Eliot). The first
stanza sets in place that this is not a love song like the title says. It begins by comparing the sky to a
patient etherized upon a table (Eliot, ln. 3) and offers to take the you in the poem down half deserted
streets, .... Restless nights in one night cheap hotels and sawdust restaurants with oyster shells (Eliot,
ln. 4 7) which are not places you go for a romantic setting. These thoughts lead him to an
overwhelming question, but begs do not ask, What is it? (Eliot, ln. 11 12). In the third stanza, Prufrock
switches from the present tense in which he says Let us go (Eliot, ln. 1) to saying there will be time
(Eliot, ln. 23) which shows how the question he doesn t want to answer is causing him to prepare a
face to meet the faces that you meet (Eliot, ln. 27). Every decision he tries to make leads to a hundred
indecisions, and time yet for a hundred visions and revisions before the taking of a toast and tea (Eliot,
ln. 31 34). This indecisiveness to a lack in self confidence beginning with Do I dare? ...With a bald
spot in the middle of my hair (Eliot, ln. 38 40). He asks Do I dare disturb the universe? ...for decisions
and revisions which a minute will reverse (Eliot, ln. 45 49), he is now beginning to feel like he is very
insignificant in the universe and that he has

Course of action and justification
Due to the losses that the business has experienced in the past 3 years, it is critical to take action and
define a new way to approach the market in order to make the company profitable again. That s why it
s necessary to adapt the business by adding a new concept focusing on a different target without

The new strategy consists on attracting families by adding kid friendly video and arcade games and a
private party space to complement the existing lanes.
As a first step Shelby Givens needs to familiarize with the kid business and make a research of other
bowling businesses where the Kid Friendly zone has been already implemented in order to get the
knowledge and get ideas in how to do it. Then, adapt the facilities according the strategy s needs. Also
would be necessary to create a new job position with the expertise required for handling kid s events
so Shelby Givens can focus mostly in the general management. Advertising would be necessary to

The Process Of The ACO Process
The ACO process can be described as follows. Let the colony comprises of N ants. The ants start at
the home node, and then travel through the various layers from the first layer to the last/final layer, and
end at the destination node in each cycle or iteration. Each ant can select only one node in each layer
based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant
represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines
in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Once the path is
completed, the ant deposits some pheromones on the path based on the local updating rule given by
Eq. (2 10). When all the ants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the following relation Simulated annealing duplicates a phenomenon in nature the annealing of solids
to optimize a complex system. Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and
then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly
global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the
annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a
change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is
lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel
configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann
probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current
temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to
temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the
change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller. When used in
engineering design, an analogy is made between energy and the objective function. The design is

What Are The Arguments Against Texting And Driving
In the age of advanced technology, it is no wonder why many municipalities allow texting and driving.
If you take a look around you at any given point, it would be almost impossible to not find someone
texting on their phone. Texting has become an integral part of communication for all. Whether it s a
teenager or a C.E.O of a company, we all use texting as a critical means of getting information to one
another in an instant. Therefore, it is clear to see why texting and driving are allowed in certain
location throughout the country. However, I believe that it should be against the law. One reason is
because texting requires someone to use his or her hands to text instead of steer. The second reason is
that texting requires the use of one s eyes causing driver distraction that may lead to accidents. There
have been arguments that as long as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

texting should not be illegal. There is also the argument that if the phone is held up to the windshield
level, a driver may still have some attention on the roadway and any impending dangers that it
presents. While all these points are true and valid, my argument against them is that it adding more
distraction than what is already considered normal. As I stated previously, most of us drive with one
hand, which already creates an issue. When you add all these other things we do that are not illegal
such as changing the radio station, looking for things, and even applying make up, it creates an
atmosphere of nearly total inattention to the most important part of operating a motor vehicle. That is

Dangers Of Tanning Beds
Being the daughter of woman who has had both basal cell and squamous cell skin cancer, I am biased
in my belief that tanning beds cause skin cancer. As a teenager, I never used the services of a tanning
salon, because my mother and my dermatologist succeeded in terrifying me about the dangers of
tanning beds. Not surprisingly the article I found, Congressional Investigation Finds Tanning Salons
Lie About Health Risks to Patrons , confirmed my beliefs. The article summarizes a study that was
completed by the U.S House and Energy Committee, which revealed that 90% of the 300 tanning

beds. In addition, the author of the article, Mikaela Conley, compares and contrasts the causation

Separation Anxiety in Children
Many parents are all too familiar with the cries of their child that seem to be impossible to calm and
the child that clings to their leg when they are about to leave. The terrible twos are not the only
dreaded stage of child development; this is what is commonly known as separation anxiety. Separation
anxiety is a developmental stage during which the child experiences anxiety when separated from the
primary care giver (McPherson, 2004). Separation anxiety varies widely from child to child and
most commonly occurs between the ages of eight months to two and a half. There are several different
causes of separation anxiety, ways to manage separation anxiety to make it easier for both the child

When the parent returns, he or she should focus on the positive aspects of the child s day to reassure
the child that everything was okay and remain consistent with the new routine. Since young children

(Brodkin, 2003).
Some symptoms and warning signs that may indicate that the child is experiencing more than just
separation anxiety are A child who continued to be inconsolable in a new child care or other setting for
more than two weeks And has an ongoing change in behavior (Please Don t Go), reluctance and/or
fear of sleeping alone, nightmares, refusal to go places without the parent, refusal to eat, refusal to

separated from the primary caregiver, worry about losing or harm coming to the primary caregiver,
repeated physical complaints (McPherson, 2004). If a child exhibits any of these behaviors or a
combination of the following behaviors, the parents or caregivers of the child should seek medical
attention immediately as well as psychological testing/counseling to discover whether or not a deeper
problem exists.

Ocean City Visual Pollution
Additionally, many of the locals have issues with the decision to build the wind farm off the coast of
Ocean City. The Ocean City Mayor stated that the residents of the city voiced their large concern with
visual pollution . The residents proposed that the wind farms be built further offshore in hopes to
avoid this issue. Councilman Dennis Dare, also prefers the wind farm be pushed at least eight miles
further offshore to aid in the solution for visual pollution. However, even with the already hefty price
tag of the wind farm, pushing it further out would cost one million dollars per mile. If the wind farm
causes visual pollution, it may result in a decline of tourists and revenue for the city. In 2016, tourists

Modern And Modern Software Project Management
Introduction Alternative approaches to management developed over the years are extremely important
to modern software project management, although new approaches are needed to deal with some of
the toughest challenges. According to experts, the popular interest in management as a discipline and a
field of study is fairly recent. But management, both as a practice and as a field of study, has a
respectable history, in many different countries, going back almost two centuries. (Drucker 2008,
p.12). Modern approaches to management were developed in the USA after World War II which are
now taught in colleges and universities. The four classic functions about management one may learn
in school are: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (Nelson Economy 2005, p. 5). More
functions need to be added to the list of skills for acquiring in the process of learning about project
management aspects. Project management challenges can be viewed from a process perspective and
many experts such as McFarland (1970) highlighted this view. Management is the process by which
managers create, direct, maintain and operate purposive, organizations though systematic,
coordinated, cooperative human effort (McFarland 1970, p. 5). Because projects are transient, their
delivery follows a development process, from germination of the idea, through initiation, design and
delivery, to commissioning, handover to the client and closeout of the work. (Turner 2014, p. 5)

Hamlet Madness In Hamlet
When reading Shakespeare s Hamlet as a class, the first thing that most teachers or professors point
out is the argument/idea of sanity, specifically Hamlet s sanity. I believe that Hamlet is, in fact,
feigning his madness. What I do not know is if I believe this because it is what I was taught or if I
came up with the idea myself based on my own interpretation. When I was taught Hamlet there was
no argument it was just fact that he was faking his madness. Because of my confusion, I came to find
that it may be interesting take out of the play any moment in which Hamlet makes the audience aware
that he is only pretending that to be mad. I want to take out any proof that his madness isn t real. The

In choosing to believe the ghost, he decides that he must seek revenge on his father s murderer and
will allow nothing to get in his way. From this moment on, Hamlet heads in a downward spiral and we
can track him losing his mind if we just erase the lines that express his plan to act like his is doing so.
These cuts begin from the moment when Hamlet says that he is going To put an antic disposition on
(Act I Scene V). Taking out this one line could change the play entirely. Most of the lines in which he
speaks of this part of his revenge plot following his original declaration of it are moments in which he
is attempting to explain that he isn t actually insane. By removing this one, small line we effectively
make it easier to argue that his madness isn t a part of his plot but it is an actual part of him. Without
having concrete proof before the madness starts that it is, in fact, planned how are we as an audience
supposed to trust him? Removing this line makes it so that the readers, and the other characters, are
entirely unaware of this part of his plan. He acts mad for a while before he mentions again that this is
his plan. The next time Hamlet discloses the part of his revenge plan is when he is speaking to
Guildenstern in Act II Scene II, and tells him that his uncle father and aunt mother are deceived and

Importance Of Biblical Worldview
Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human beings
because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as (Wolters, 76). As
Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical worldview, it is critical
for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure and direction are the main
biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector of their lives.
I. Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines structure as
the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does not change
despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand structure since it
is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as an anchor that
provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in government
defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run like a government,
not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not only does it set a limit

That is how many people know about the Scottish play! Macbeth is a very complicated story! There are many characters and each character each has a motive. Some of them have good motives, and some are not good. Some of the characters change their motive. Macbeth seemed to change his motive. Every person who reads Macbeth ... Everyone would want to have the power! I think that power can change a person though! It can make you greedy and Macbeth did whatever he could to make the prophecy come true. What the witches told Macbeth could be true or not! The witches have tricked men before and lied and said they were sharing a prophecy but it was a lie! Macbeth never worried that the witches were lying to him! I like what they told him and he chose to believe them! After he became thane, he knew that the third prophecy will come true! • 6. Causes Of The American Revolution Dbq The American Revolution was the culmination of tension between the free thinking and developing Colonists and the dominating and tax imposing British. The war lasted from 1776 to 1783, but the most important part of the war was the events leading up to it, in which Colonists began to develop democratic thoughts about their social, political, economic, and religious life. People began to understand democratic ideas and it s benefits, and many decided to make an active effort to increase the amount of democracy in their life. Democratic is defined as favoring or characterized by social equality. A democratic lifestyle is a fair and equal one, and the years leading up to the revolution brought a democratic environment to the Colonies. Despite lack of greater property distribution, the 1700s brought great democratic change to Colonial America, which experienced a democratic movement religiously in the separation of church and state, which led to social changes including slavery and new thinking, that led to democratic and intellectual political reforms. Although wealth and property distribution were not changed democratically, the ideas relating to property distribution and commercial success were democratic and showed democratic progress. • 7. Frieze Of Dancers Frieze of Dancers is a unique that piece that ties together many of the elements of art and principles of design. Some elements, such as time and motion, stand out more than others, but that does not change how diverse this composition is. This painting is 27 7/8 inches tall and 78 7/8 inches wide meaning that an average sized person would be taller than the painting, but would be smaller than the dancers when measured from left to right. However, the dancers themselves are relatively the same size when compared to each other. Each girl takes up a specific amount of space making them seem larger, and the background almost non existent. The space surrounding the girls is undefined; the floor and the wall blend together into a light brown background. This light brown is a part of a grander color scheme that includes darker browns and oranges. Altogether the colors within the painting are muted with no bright colors. Instead the artist chose to use browns and grays which seems to give the painting a more realistic and serious air. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lines are not connected to each other, but the lines that are visible help to define the figures and separate them from the background. Most of the lines found within the painting are implied, and created by use of shadowing. This is evident in the thigh of the third dancer from the left and the skirts of the first and second ballerina (also from the left). The third ballerina s leg is clearly defined, but it is not defined by the lines; it is defined using darker grays. The use of the darker colors creates a shadow that is not a clear line, but gives the viewer an idea that a line should be there. The layers of the skirts of the first and second dancers are also defined by shadow rather than by actual lines. These lines also give the skirts a fluffy texture; making them seem fuller than they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. A Jazz Concert Report An Evening of Jazz On November 17th, 2016, I attended a jazz concert and had quite a time. The experience was captivating, and gave me a warm feeling inside. There were three different bands that play in the hour slot, and all of them sounded magnificent, but The Santé Fe Jazz Combo and Santa Fe Big Band stood out the most. The only thing these two bands have in common is that some of the musicians play in both bands. Otherwise, these jazz fanatics are polar opposites. When listening to The Santé Fe Jazz Combo, you get a mellow feeling that courses through your body. Their opener Recorda Me, which was my favorite piece, featured solos from Dr. Hamilton on Piano, Spencer Hoefert on Guitar, Ben Salhanick on Bass, Doc B on Alto Sax, Wyatt Thomas on Trombone, and Noah Woolard on Drum Set. The song had a moderate swing tempo that kept your feet tapping up until the solo. First, the brass rang through their part, then the electric instruments. Next came the bass; he was strumming so fast but he was barely audible. The pianist busting through with a tricky piano rift and the drummer finished it off with an intense solo. Every rim shot sent a jolt into the air like lightning and the buzz rolls sounded like thunder. Noah s part reminded me why I love playing the drums. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The importance of the community s involvement in emergency management has propelled FEMA to introduce the Whole Community concept in December 2011 in disaster preparedness (pp. 108). This approach engages all members of the community including individuals, government at all levels, organizations, businesses, community groups and others involved in preparing the community as a whole to deal with disasters. It is the philosophical belief of FEMA that utilizing leveraging all the resources of the the collective team in the community will help to prepare, protect, respond to and recover from, and mitigate against all disasters. The engagement of the community in an authentic dialogue will also empower individuals to identify their needs, the existing resources and find out ways to address any shortfall in them. FEMA also reinforces that with the community s involvement, FEMA is better able to reach and deliver services more efficiently and cost effectively to those affected in a disaster. One of the most important concerns of community members is how they will evacuate in the event of a disaster. • 13. Italian Opera vs. French Opera According to R. Wagner opera does not mean so much a musical work, as a musical, poetical, and spectacular work all at once; opera is the work par excellence, to the production of which all the arts are necessary (Sutherland, 1). Opera starts not with music but with its literary source (story or plot), whether it be history, biography, fiction, or mythology in the form of poem, play, drama, novel, or original libretto (Knapp 6). Opera is a combination of mangled drama, the singers, the music and many different arts (Knapp, 3). An opera is not an opera without the music. The musical representation uplifts the words and adds magic to an opera (Knapp 3). The two major components of an opera are the human singers and the orchestra. ... An operatic a resource that was often overlooked, was dancing. In the French Opera singing aspect and the orchestra aspect are on the same level as dancing. Dancing isn t really a major part of the Italian opera (Knapp 10). French Opera was extremely popular, but only to the French. It wasn t as popular as German opera or Italian opera. This was mainly because in the French Opera the drama came first and the music came second. The French language was notoriously difficult to sing properly because of its lack of strong accents (Knapp 201). To the French, words and actions were far more important than the music so the composers have really allowed the orchestra to overpower the voice and assume the dominant role in the opera (Knapp 202). In the French operas you would never see the singing overwhelming the action. • 15. Modern Art And African Art There is a clear connection between modern art and African art. African symbols, shapes, and ideologies influence paintings, textiles, and sculptures. However, not many discuss comics within the traditional definition of art. The medium of comics boomed after the Great Depression with Superman. A time of hardship, the Depression left people needing something to believe in. Since the beginning of time people have used storytelling and mythology to explain the world around them. After the Depression with the birth of Superman, superheros were no different. Superheros are modern mythologies, a phrase coined by Richard Reynolds. In his book, Super Heroes: A Modern Mythologies, he refers to Roland Barters essay Myth Today, which points out that mythology represents culture as nature to explain the political and social anatomy of societies. Superheroes contribute to this concept by using science and magic to create a sense of mythical wonder. Reynolds uses the example of Thor, who is a god trapped on earth in the body of a scientist with a walking stick as punishment from his father Odin. Throughout the comic book universe there are heroes that not only draw from Norse mythology, but Native American, Hindu, and Greco Roman mythology as well. One has to wonder if there is a connection between superheroes and African mythology. Light levels in Nursing homes must be increased to make up for the loss of visual acuity that occurs within the aging eye. In order to provide the needed amount of light for older adults, light levels need to be raised, balancing of natural light and artificial light must occur, as well as the elimination of glare. A strong and profound message that resonated in the minds of black youth during the end of the 20th century. It meant that, as a black youth, you had to either be a successful drug hustler or an amazing athlete to live comfortable financially. Young Christopher Wallace, a boy growing up in Brooklyn, New York during the rise of crack, was set on becoming rich and this was his formula for doing so. He was far too overweight for sports and besides, hustling crack gave a much quicker payout (Coker). A person s traits are important because they are characteristics upon which talent is dependent, and talent is no less an important factor to success than opportunity is. If a talent without opportunity leads to little to no achievement, then what kind of outcome does one get from opportunities without talent? The opportunities that Wallace received as Biggie Smalls were simple, and ones that Gladwell would most certainly agree with. Like hundreds of other black youths, Biggie grew up in the 1980s, during the golden age of hip hop. Hip hop, to young blacks and the recently paroled, was a means of leaving the streets and a life of poverty ( Remembering the Golden Age of Hip hop. ). The cause or causes of it have been greatly disputed. Clearly the Revolution s primary cause was the presence of a weak monarchy and a lack of a stable system of government. France s absolute monarchy had many changes toward the end of the eighteenth century. Louis XIV, in his attempts to centralize his authority and also lessen the power of the aristocrats, had planned out an intendant system. The intendants were like governors. The first estate which was composed of church officials, had great power and obtained enormous salaries. Church officials obtained their salaries via taxes collected from church property. Therefore, since the officials received their salaries from the church property, they did not have to pay taxes. The second estate was mainly composed of nobility. They too were exempt from paying taxes. This left the tax burden upon the third estate. The third estate consisted of some merchants and entrepreneurs; however, the majority were peasants. Corruption of the estates was causing much frustration among the common people who composed 70 percent of the population. The monarchy tried to make an attempt to give the third estate power. The monarchy established the Estate s General. This too, was corrupted. Unlike most legislative bodies, the Estate s General did not vote by each person having a single vote. Rather, they let each estate have one vote each. Since the first two estates were always in agreement, the third estate was always out voted. The purpose of my project is to investigate the differences in the usage and meanings of modals between the two languages. My focus will be on the modal, must, and what contexts it is mainly used for. I will start by discussing what was particularly challenging about this project. Modals are a highly complex area of grammar both in English and Russian. Several of the texts I have consulted for my project remark on the difficulty of teaching and learning modals. In English, there is a certain level of ambiguity when it comes to the meanings of modals. Depending on what context they are used in, modals can mean several different things and fall into two main categories: epistemic of deontic (Haan, 1995). The modal I am focusing on, must or dolžen, corresponds semantically only to the root or fictive modals in English. This fact is the very core of great pedagogical difficulty in teaching these Russian modal auxiliaries to English speaking students (Croft, 1975). Initially, it was challenging even finding articles about Russian modals. The articles I discovered did not have a comprehensive list of Russian modals which made it more difficult to understand. This area of grammar is widely studied in English, but not so in Russian. Corpus investigations of modality in other languages is lagging behind, (Haan, 1995) which is why it was difficult to find a Russian corpus to analyze for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Irony In The Summoner s Chaucer carefully shows us the Summoner, quaking with anger, after hearing the Friar s Tale, and those pious readers who might have thought that the Friar s Tale veered close to the line of blasphemous sin would likely have been straight out offended by the Summoner s. It is a bilious, aggressive tale which does not even consider pulling its punches, and the Friar s contempt is roundly quyt with a full on, unrelenting attack from the Summoner. Anality is a key ingredient in the tale, potentially a reference to the possible interpretation of the General Prologue which argues that the Summoner and Pardoner are engaged in a homosexual relationship. Regardless of whether this reading is accepted, the prologue begins with a journey into the devil s arse, and the tale finds its resolution with the division of a fart, first from Thomas arse, and then from the friar s. This journey from arse to arse is only one of several ways in which the Summoner s Tale mechanically closes in on itself, in precisely the way that the friar within it manages to bring about his own humiliation. He explains that there is a three stage formula that he calls a Hero Journey which is the structure of every story. Though most stories are completely different on the outside, the stories are almost structured around these three stages. Stage 1 is the hero leaves the everyday world and enters another world. While Stage 2 the hero is challenged by opposing forces and must pass a series a test throughout the movie. That will then determine who will be victorious, either the hero or the opposing forces. Stage 3 is tied into Stage 2 because if the hero is victorious, they will return to the ordinary world with a gift for the world. • 28. Summary Of The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock In T. S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , the title alone is ironic because throughout the poem Prufrock struggles with being unable to talk to anyone, yet the poem is supposed to be a love song (Eliot). The epigraph of the poem is quoted directly from Dante s Inferno , the translation says If I thought that my answer were being made to someone who would ever return to earth, this flame would remain without further movement; but since no one has ever returned alive from this depth, if what I hear is true, I answer you without fear of infamy (qtd. in Eliot). This quote correlates to the way Prufrock tells us his fears and feelings due to the reader being unable to tell the people in the poem what Prufrock says. In the first line, Prufrock says Let us go then, you and I (Eliot, ln. 1), the you in the poem is not directly referred to as the reader or the recipient of the love song (Eliot). The first stanza sets in place that this is not a love song like the title says. It begins by comparing the sky to a patient etherized upon a table (Eliot, ln. 3) and offers to take the you in the poem down half deserted streets, .... Restless nights in one night cheap hotels and sawdust restaurants with oyster shells (Eliot, ln. 4 7) which are not places you go for a romantic setting. These thoughts lead him to an overwhelming question, but begs do not ask, What is it? (Eliot, ln. 11 12). In the third stanza, Prufrock switches from the present tense in which he says Let us go (Eliot, ln. 1) to saying there will be time (Eliot, ln. 23) which shows how the question he doesn t want to answer is causing him to prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet (Eliot, ln. 27). Every decision he tries to make leads to a hundred indecisions, and time yet for a hundred visions and revisions before the taking of a toast and tea (Eliot, ln. 31 34). This indecisiveness to a lack in self confidence beginning with Do I dare? ...With a bald spot in the middle of my hair (Eliot, ln. 38 40). Course of action and justification Due to the losses that the business has experienced in the past 3 years, it is critical to take action and define a new way to approach the market in order to make the company profitable again. That s why it s necessary to adapt the business by adding a new concept focusing on a different target without setting aside the current and loyal costumers. The new strategy consists on attracting families by adding kid friendly video and arcade games and a private party space to complement the existing lanes. As a first step Shelby Givens needs to familiarize with the kid business and make a research of other bowling businesses where the Kid Friendly zone has been already implemented in order to get the knowledge and get ideas in how to do it. Then, adapt the facilities according the strategy s needs. The ants start at the home node, and then travel through the various layers from the first layer to the last/final layer, and end at the destination node in each cycle or iteration. Each ant can select only one node in each layer based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Once the path is completed, the ant deposits some pheromones on the path based on the local updating rule given by Eq. (2 10). When all the ants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller. If you take a look around you at any given point, it would be almost impossible to not find someone texting on their phone. Texting has become an integral part of communication for all. Whether it s a teenager or a C.E.O of a company, we all use texting as a critical means of getting information to one another in an instant. Therefore, it is clear to see why texting and driving are allowed in certain location throughout the country. However, I believe that it should be against the law. One reason is because texting requires someone to use his or her hands to text instead of steer. The second reason is that texting requires the use of one s eyes causing driver distraction that may lead to accidents. There have been arguments that as long as ... While all these points are true and valid, my argument against them is that it adding more distraction than what is already considered normal. As I stated previously, most of us drive with one hand, which already creates an issue. • 39. Modern And Modern Software Project Management Introduction Alternative approaches to management developed over the years are extremely important to modern software project management, although new approaches are needed to deal with some of the toughest challenges. According to experts, the popular interest in management as a discipline and a field of study is fairly recent. But management, both as a practice and as a field of study, has a respectable history, in many different countries, going back almost two centuries. (Drucker 2008, p.12). Modern approaches to management were developed in the USA after World War II which are now taught in colleges and universities. The four classic functions about management one may learn in school are: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (Nelson Economy 2005, p. 5). More functions need to be added to the list of skills for acquiring in the process of learning about project management aspects. Project management challenges can be viewed from a process perspective and many experts such as McFarland (1970) highlighted this view. Management is the process by which managers create, direct, maintain and operate purposive, organizations though systematic, coordinated, cooperative human effort (McFarland 1970, p. 5). Because projects are transient, their delivery follows a development process, from germination of the idea, through initiation, design and delivery, to commissioning, handover to the client and closeout of the work. In choosing to believe the ghost, he decides that he must seek revenge on his father s murderer and will allow nothing to get in his way. From this moment on, Hamlet heads in a downward spiral and we can track him losing his mind if we just erase the lines that express his plan to act like his is doing so. These cuts begin from the moment when Hamlet says that he is going To put an antic disposition on (Act I Scene V). Taking out this one line could change the play entirely. Most of the lines in which he speaks of this part of his revenge plot following his original declaration of it are moments in which he is attempting to explain that he isn t actually insane. By removing this one, small line we effectively make it easier to argue that his madness isn t a part of his plot but it is an actual part of him. Without having concrete proof before the madness starts that it is, in fact, planned how are we as an audience supposed to trust him? • 42. Importance Of Biblical Worldview Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human beings because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as (Wolters, 76). As Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical worldview, it is critical for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure and direction are the main biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector of their lives. I. Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines structure as the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does not change despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand structure since it is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as an anchor that provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in government defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run like a government, not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not only does it set a limit for creations, but it also sets a limit on the enemy and prevents its dominion and bondage. Structure helps us to think about the questions in this world in a different perspective. It enables us to think in a Godly, scriptural perspective, which will serve as a guideline for us to ...
