The Themes Of Violence In John Winslow s The Cartel
As previously mentioned drug cartels are extremely known for their super violent image. Being a
narco narrative itself, the storyline couldn t omit the theme of violence without discriminations
between men, women and children. A typical scene of violence is that of a trained by the Zetas 11 year
old Chicano kid, a sicario, who is on runaway after opening fire against a crowd and tossing five
severed heads onto the white tiled dance floor. Winslow uses an unorthodox method at his story as
parts of the novel are told from the perspective of a child member of La Familia, suffering from heavy
psychic and physical traumas. Even tougher than the outright violence is the slow destruction of
idealists either they belong to the braches of journalism or politics. For the first, special memorial
reference is included in the book. Winslow is considered to depict the theme of raw violence so as to
raise the audience s awareness of the real violence taking place in Mexico and the war on drugs.
Therefore, it is rightfully said that The Cartel is a pure novelization of the Mexican American reality.
Because of this relative obscurity, many readers might come to believe that most of the events in this
book were created and invented by the author. They would be wrong most of the events that Winslow
described really happened. Sometimes the truth and reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Besides from coming also from Sinaloa, another similarity is Barrera s escape from the federal prison
by bribing the prison guards exactly just like Guzman did back in 2001. As mentioned above, El
Chapo s rivals was the paramilitary group called Los Zetas under the leadership from Heriberto who
had a long time bloody feud with him exactly like in Winslow s novel. The true villain of The Cartel

The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range
1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with restricted
dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this paper, new
adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range image on low
dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image contrast. Instead of
linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma correction with adaptive
parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in specific pixels and using
nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The optimal compression can finally
be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates all window based constraints which
can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital
photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different
exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image
called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of
the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great
dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a
format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color
channel, but the modern

Nelson Mandela s School Years Research Paper
This publication goes into great detail about Mandela s school years. Mandela was the first in his
family to attend school, and was actually given the opportunity to go to school because his father was
a respected African chief. While in school, he was taught various subjects, but was really stricken by
his history class because he was taught about the days where African people lived in peace, before the
white people arrived. This particular piece of information was worth mentioning in the paper because
the education Mandela received in history class about the peaceful days would later inspire him to
fight for an independent South Africa. This publication later mentions the African National Congress,
and the African National Congress Youth

Collaboration, Accommodation, And Avoidance
My grandfather use to always say the harder the conflict the more the triumph. I ve experienced
numerous conflicts in life and each one was handle differently. Some of the styles I ve experienced are
collaboration, accommodation, and avoidance. The purpose of this paper is to explain my experienced
theses styles at work and school. Collaboration is a style of dealing with conflict emphasizing both
cooperation and assertiveness to maximize both parties satisfaction (Bateman, Snell). When I worked
as a cook, my job consisted of me deciding on which items were going to be serving on the buffet line.
The chef wanted all of the dish items to be beautifully presented and dishes not typically found in
buffets. I come up with the menu line up and I start passing out the menus to the cooks. Some of the
cooks started to complain immediately after receiving the menu. They were saying they were not
going to do what was listed on the menu because it was too difficult. They were saying we needed to
put something out that is quicker to make because it is a Friday night, which is the busiest night out of
the week. Not considering the volume we were going to be doing this night I pulled the cooks together
so we could change the difficult items out. We came up with a menu that was quick to make, but was
still able make the dishes stunning, When the shift started the chef came to view the items we had on
the line and they loved every single item. The cooks and I identified an issue

William Coverdale ( 1488-1569 ), The Great Bible
William Coverdale (1488 1569), The Great Bible
The atmosphere changed in England as Rome and Henry the VIII came into conflict. Henry the VII
wanted to divorce his Catholic wife, Katherine of Aragon, the Catholic Church refused. When the
Pope refused, Henry VII renounced the Catholic Church and appointed himself head of the Church of
England. To spite the Catholic Church and unify his kingdom, he ordered the Bible printed and
translated into English, and placed in all the churches, the translation they placed in the churches was
the Great Bible. Miles Coverdale was the editor behind the Great Bible, which used the Matthew s
Bible as its basis. The size of the Bible, 16 ½ inches by 11 inches was the reason it was called the
Great Bible.
The Geneva Bible (1560)
When Mary Tudor (1553 1558) (Daughter of Henry VIII) became Queen of England, she tried to
restore Catholicism Protestants were persecuted and killed. Many fled to John Calvin s Geneva, where
another translation of the English Bible was prepared, the Geneva Bible. The Geneva Bible translation
(1557, 1560) was done under the direction of William Coverdale and John Knox and influenced by
John Calvin. This Bible became popular in England after Mary Tudor s execution and Protestant
persecution stopped. An act of the Scottish Parliament required it compulsory for every householder
who had an income above a certain amount, to buy a copy of the Geneva Bible. The popularity of the

Flight 751 Research Papers
Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) Flight 751 landed at Stockholm/Arlanda Airport I on 26
December, 1991, at 2209 hours. Little did they know, within 24 hours that would be the last time it
would land at an airport. The plane landed on a slush covered filled after it had snowed at the airport.
Upon landing, the wings still had roughly 2,550 kilograms of fuel left in each of them. There the plane
sat at a gate and at around 0200 hours on 27 December, 1991, a flight technician had finished
inspecting the airplane and had noted that ice had formed on upper portion of the wings.
By morning it was noted by a technician at 0730 hours that frost was found on the underside of the
wing, but after inspection of the upper wing he could not see any ice formed on it. It would later be
found out that there was indeed ice on it, but not a kind that is completely visible, and the ice that was
found on the wing was in fact clear ice. The reason this ice likely formed on the wing was due to fuel
being left in the wings overnight where the temperature within it was 20° C. Alongside that it had
snowed overnight while the plane sat, which made ice and slush build up on the wings. Which
amounted to nearly 10 inches of slush on top of the wings, in the morning.
After preforming deicing procedures, they concluded that the plane was free of ice and ready for
takeoff. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Three Polls
Abstract The objective of this report was to analyse three polls each from different sources, to identify
whether they were biased and unfair or unbiased and fair or perhaps a concoction of the two and if the
location of the sources affected the reliability and accuracy of the poll. This was done by depicting it
into a table with strengths and weaknesses of each of the three polls adjacent to each other. The
findings showed all three of the polls were with biased and unfair or unbiased and fair, none of them
were a mixture of the two. The sources of the polls did not influence the reliability and accuracy of the
poll, rather it contradicted it. All the sources were reliable however the polls had some bias involved
with either the wording or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may be possibly influenced by the sources. Introduction The aim of the report is to investigate
whether the polls analysed in the report are fair and unbiased or unfair and biased or a concoction of
both. Before any judgements are declared, the definition of what makes a fair and unbiased poll must
be outlined. A poll is where people are asked to give their opinions on a subjective or objective matter.
A poll diverges into nine types; benchmark polls, tracking polls, bushfire polls, entrance polls, exit
polls, deliberative opinion polls, opinion polls, push polls and straw polls. A benchmark poll is
generally a short and simple survey of respondent s opinion designated to help political candidates
craft their campaigns. Tracking polls are repeated over several consecutive days to create a picture of
where opinion is moving over time, to enable a rough report of the campaigns. The bushfire polls are
polls taken during the period between the benchmark and tracking polls. The number of brushfire
polls taken by a campaign is determined by how competitive the race is and how much money the
campaign has to spend. These polls usually focus on likely voters and the

The Australian Music Scene Of Australia
The Australian Music Scene is on of the best and is growing. Even though it is far away from major
musical capitals such as America and the UK there is still a thriving live music scene in Australia.
There are many different cultures and genres that musicians play in Australia. With so many festivals
and gigs throughout the long summers, musicians love to come and play in Australia.
Australia has lots of great bands being exposed to the world. Triple J Unearthed is a great way of
exposing Indie and small bands to the whole of Australia. The latest Australian band to make it big
around the world is Tame Impala who won The Rolling Stone Album of the Year in 2010 for their

This can be a hassle and quite hard if you haven t had much experience.
Touring in a band is a really good way to get known in different areas and not just your local pub.
Touring locally would be best for trying to get your name out there and gaining fans. Touring around
Australia would be appropriate for when you have quite a lot of fans over Australia. There is no point
booking a tour if no one will show up. You will lose a lot of money. Touring overseas will cost a lot
more than around Australia and is good for when you are known across different countries. This
would take a while to get to this status and would be best to use an agent for overseas bookings and
accommodation.
Artist managers are important for bands. They do many things for the band to help them; they take
care of the business side of things like contacting record companies. The manager makes sure that
everyone involved in the band is doing their job. The manager might be on the phone with a record
label asking about advertising campaigns or on the phone with an agent discussing upcoming gigs.
Tour managers make sure that tours go smoothly. They manage the tour finances, deal with ticketing
agencies and making sure everyone on tour is on task. They basically manage the people who are on
tour. In bigger bands the role of a Tour Manager might be split into three or four people.

Indonesia Trade Brief
Introduction The KOF Index of Globalization ranks Indonesia 87th in the world in total globalization,
below its immediate neighbors like Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and well below Singapore. The
country ranked 76th in economic globalization, 146th in social globalization and 39th in political
globalization. The country s economic globalization score is based on trade flows and restrictions,
equally. Indonesia s score in terms of economic trade is likely dragged down by its significant trade
barriers. These barriers represent an obstacle to flourishing trade for Indonesia, which otherwise
performs well in terms of its international trade profile. Data and Arguments The country s economy is
in the trillion dollar class, and ranks 16th in the world, just below Canada and just above Turkey (CIA
World Factbook, 2012). With ranks of 27th in the world for exports, 30th for imports, 34th for
inbound FDI and 37th for outbound FDI (Ibid), Indonesia s flows are much greater than its
globalization ranking would indicate. This points to trade barriers as being a drag on its KOF score.
These figures at least to some extent tied to commodity prices, as Indonesia s exports and inbound
FDI in particular are tied to its mineral and forest wealth (World Bank, 2010). Indonesia is a member
of the World Trade Organization, and therefore is committed to lowering its trade barriers. The WTO
publishes statistics on tariffs that illustrate that, in general, the Indonesian trade market

Background Going Into The 1970 S
Background going into the 1970 s
Starting in the 1960 s under the Johnson administration, the United States created two economic
burdens based off the Vietnam War and President Johnson s Great Society. President Johnson s
spending on the Vietnam War and the Great Society had boosted economic growth to 4.9%, and
inflation to an alarming 4.7%. Going into the next presidency in 1968, during the start of the Nixon
administration, President Nixon made a number of questionable decisions that led to the mass inflation
crisis of the 1970 s. Stagflation got its name during the 1973 1975 recession. There were six quarters
of shrinking Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while inflation tripled in 1973, rising from 3.4% to
9.6%. It remained between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because under wage controls workers could no longer get raises, giving them less money to
buy goods and services, which as a result decreases demand. Businesses couldn t lower prices to boost
demand. Neither could they raise prices, even though the cost of their imported materials rose due to
inflation and import taxes. Since they couldn t lower wages, they reduced hiring and therefore
demand. Wage price controls created a recession in November of 1973. Nixon eliminated them in
April 1974, but the damage took its toll. There were three consecutive quarters of negative GDP
growth: 1974 Q3 3.8% ( 3.8%), Q4 1.6% ( 1.6%), 1975 Q1 4.7%( 4.7%). Unemployment reached a
peak of 9% in May 1975, two months after the recession technically ended.

Similarities Between Democratic And Republican Parties
The Democratic and Republican parties each represent very distinct sets of ideals. Although the parties
have strong differences, both aim to make the United States of America as successful as possible. One
link between the two parties is that both believe in following the rules. This is displayed in the
Preamble to the Republican Platform when it states, any American who works hard, dreams big and
follows the rules can achieve anything he or she wants (GOP). Likewise, the Democratic Party
believes that the United States succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair
share, when everyone plays by the same rules (Democrats.org). Thus, the Republican and Democratic
parties share one main ideal. Indeed, Republicans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Threat of Catheter-Related Infections
Clinical problem: Catheter related infections pose a detrimental threat to adult patients in intensive
care units with a central line. Effects of an infection include: an increase in the patients length of
hospital stay, morbidity and mortality rates, and hospital readmission rates.
Objective: To determine if the evidence based practice interventions studied and published can help to
decrease the rate of infection occurring in central lines.
Data sources: The search engine that was used to find three randomized controlled trial articles and
support my PICOT question was PubMed. Key terms that were used to search for them included
intensive care unit infections, chlorhexidine dressings, antiseptic solutions, and prevention methods
for catheter related infections. A clinical guideline for the prevention of intravascular catheter related
infection was retrieved from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
Results: The clinical guideline from the AHRQ encouraged interventions like the chlorhexidine
impregnated sponge, antiseptic solution, and other precautious measures in order to reduce catheter
related infections. The research completed by Atahan and colleagues (2012), Timsit and colleagues
(2012), and Timsit and colleagues (2009) concluded that the use of 2% chlorhexidine gel tegaderm

Stephen King s Essay Why We Crave Horror Movies
Stephen king wrote an essay called Why We Crave Horror Movies. Stephen King is a bestselling
novelist. He is a great author to some people. In this essay he writes about how people watch scary
movies and do scary things to show they are not afraid. He also says that people enjoy these things. He
says that people like blood, murder, and serial killers. He talks about how society rewards certain
emotions and looks down on other emotions. He says that we all feel the emotions that society looks
down on but people don t let them show as much. He has flaws within his writings and an invalid
argument.
Stephen King writes a whole essay about why everyone loves horror movies; but what if someone
does not like scary movies? That is a hasty generalization. If King does not even engage the other side
of the spectra then his argument is easily dismissed. I hate scary movies to the point I will not watch
them. If they are on TV I will get up and do something else. I have seen one scary movie and hated it,
since then I have not watched another. Just the fact that I hate scary movies disproves his whole
argument that everyone craves them, because I do not. In order to have a well developed essay one
must give both sides of the argument. Without that then the essay can be easily disproved. ... Show

A Book Call The Mythical Man Month
Man Month which represents the production effort a single persons in a 4 week period. This is also
known as labor month. To figure out the total hour of a man month is done this way. A man day
usually runs 8 hours a day for five days a week which equals forty hours a week (8 hours a day * 5
days a week = 40 hours a week). In a normal mouth you will have for weeks within that month, so we
take the forty hours a week and multiply that by four which will gives us one hundred and sixty hours

Power Struggle In Ishmael
Zach Adams
Dr. Hill

Ishmael Paper
Ishmael is a complex book with a couple of themes. These themes are the desire to save the world,
what does it mean to be a person, and why are things the way they are. The latter is the theme that is
most prominent through out the entire book. For that reason I have chosen to use conflict perspective.
I chose conflict perspective because it is all about the struggle for power. We see the power struggle
come up in Ishmael multiple times in terms of the takers feeling like they have all the power, when in
fact mother nature has the power and she is letting us use it. Ishmael identifies two groups of people in
the world today. The first group of people is the leavers. The leavers are the members ... Show more

It doesn t have to be that way. Instead we could be conscience about how our actions affect the world
around us; but no if someone were to try to change and make the world better that person would be
labeled as a deviant. Ishmael asks if the narrator has heard of the story and the narrator say, no what
story? Ishmael says that the story has no need to be named or discussed, everyone knows it by heart
by the time they are six or seven. No one notices it though because we are all caught up in the story,
its not until we take the blinders off that we see the story everywhere. Instead of being labeled as a
deviant, everyone goes with the flow and does what they are told, even if it isn t the right thing to do.
This is what happened with the people of Germany during the Nazi reign. Ishmael talks about how
Adolf Hitler was able to get the people of Germany to do heinous acts to other people just by feeding
them a story. The people in Germany were captives to the story that Hitler was feeding them. There
were people in Germany that realized that the story being fed to them was just that a story; but they
stayied the course because of the vast number of people enthralled in the story who were willing to
give their lives to protect it. Ishmael says to the narrator, I m telling you this because the people of
your culture are in much the same situation. Like the people of Nazi Germany, they are captives of a
story. What does this mean for us, are we just going along with a story? One might ask, how does one
save the world, when the entire world is enthralled in a story? The answer to that question may never
answered. The takers are to immersed in the story that is being fed to them to wake up and see what
they are doing to the

The For A Family Child Care Center
Introduction
This is my Auntie Judelyn s house. It is located at 3113 El Paseo Alameda in Bay Farm. This is a big
house and it has a second floor. I mainly focus on the first floor to design an ECE environment. I
chose this house because it has an enormous space to transform into family child care center. This
house will be great where children can do various activities, feel comfortable and freely to explore in
certain learning centers.
Evaluation There are a lot of elements that would currently work for a family child care center. As you
walk into the house, there are three windows. There are two windows located at the living room and
these two windows are closeby to the yard, which is great. There is a natural light and it will make the
children be able to view the yard. The other window located at the cooking area, which is also good,
so that children can view the outside environment while they are cooking and eating. The floor is
made of tiles. Tile floors have the advantage of being very easy to appear clean and can be polished
well. There are three big carpets that are set up or lad in the floor, which are located in the living
room, cooking area and dining room. Carpet has the advantage where it make the floor a little softer to
sit on and for children to play or do activities. Carpet can be useful for seating areas like circle time,
blocks and many more.

Self Assessment Of The Classroom Essay
Self Assessment in the Classroom
Self Assessment is process by which students monitor and evaluate the quality of their thinking and
behavior when learning and then identify actions that could potentially improve their understanding
and skills. Furthermore, self assessment occurs when students check the work they ve accomplished
and identify discrepancies between current and desired performance (McMillan Hearn, 2008). Self
assessments can be used by the student and the teacher; a student would use it as a way to know if
they understand the information the teacher taught; the teacher can use self assessment in order to
better the course or teaching techniques. When students self assess their performance, it is important
that we know what techniques to apply and with effectiveness. I will be exploring how students self
assess their work, and how you can encourage better self assessment technique. This paper will also
review studies that relate to self assessment and what has been done to enhance their use. In all studies
used, only English as a first language students and students that are not going through special
education were able to participate in the study. This method of assessment can be integrated into
various classroom activities as well as traditional assessments. The ability to self assess one s learning
will encourage independence as a student, where you do not to rely on the criticism of others in order
to improve yourself.

The Importance of Reducing Detrimental Vehicle Emissions...
If greenhouse gases were nonexistent, the Earth s atmosphere would be 33 degrees Celsius colder than
it is currently. Throughout the past century, the entire Earth has increased in temperature by nearly .5
degrees Celsius. (Hopwood and Cohen) One contributor to this problem is vehicle fuel emissions.
These emissions are seriously affecting the health of humans. As a result, scientists are working on
alternate fuel vehicles and zero emission vehicles.
There are many pollutants that are emitted from a regular vehicle today. According to one website,
these pollutants include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, particulate matter,
ozone, and oxides of sulfur. One may not know that lead was previously in U.S. gasoline ... Show

Scientists say that 55% of man made NOx emissions come from the average motor vehicle. (
Alternative )
Particulate matter (PM) aggravates asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, heart disease, and lung disease.
PM is a carrier of many toxic compounds and contributes to haze. On top of that, it pollutes fresh and
coastal waters, and contaminates farmland. PM is emitted mainly from diesel vehicles and is formed
from reactions between nitrous oxides and sulfur oxides. ( Alternative )
Ozone (O3), also referred to as smog, is a strong oxidant that reduces lung function, intensify asthma,
increase chances for respiratory illness, and lead to permanent lung damage. Also, it may damage
plant life. O3, not being a direct vehicle emission, is produced by reactions of nitrous oxides and
atmospheric air in the presence of sunlight. The formation of O3 generally occurs more often in urban
areas rather than rural. ( Alternative )
Oxides of sulfur (SOx) can cause respiratory illness, heart disease, and lung disease. It causes PM to
form, and is a primary cause of acid rain. Most vehicle emissions studies exclude SOx from the list
due to the fact that it is emitted at such a small quantity compared to the total amount of emissions
given off by regular human activity. Recently in 2006, diesel fuels SOx content was lowered, even
further than it previously was after the first SOx reduce, making it a ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD).

Religion has always had a powerful effect on nations, even more so than the military or the political
system in which the civilization confides in. In ancient Greek society, their higher deities were
constantly being thought of and implicated in their society. Although they had many gods, the titans

Krios, Koios, Hyperion and Iapetos were posted at the four corners of the world where they seized
hold of the Sky god and held him fast, while Kronos, hidden in the centre, castrated him with a sickle.
In this myth, Iapetos and the three brothers represent the four cosmic pillars which appear in Near
Eastern cosmogonies holding heaven and earth apart. Iapetos himself was no doubt the pillar of the
west, a position which was later and more obviously held by his son Atlas. Iapetos the piercer may
also have been regarded as the Titan god of the mortal life span. Indeed, his sons Prometheus and
Epimetheus were represented as the creators of mankind and other mortal creatures.
Iapetos may have been the Titan god who presided over the mortal life span who assigned mortal
creatures their finite lot. Like his brother Titanes, he was a god of time, one of the sons of Ouranos,
the great dome of heaven which measured all of time. Iapetos, as one of the more destructive Titanes,
is described by Homer seated beside Kronos (all devouring time) in the depths of the Tartarean pit.
Iapetos and his bride Klymene might have been conceived with a variety of functions. Firstly, as the
god of mortality, Iapetos is the piercer, the god of violent death. His wife Klymene, in this sense,
would naturally be a chthonian (or netherworld) goddess, and indeed, the

The Reproduction of Inequality
Definitions In relation to the topic, MacLeod explains social reproduction as the theory that explains
how societal institutions perpetuate or reproduce the social relationships and attitudes needed to
sustain the existing relations of production in a capitalist society. (MacLeod 9) In this definition, the
societal institutions are places like, government offices, and schools. These institutions according to
him help continue to maintain the status quo by preserving the existing barriers between classes. To
investigate this there are two main ways to analyze the situation, one can use the advocate
deterministic model or the model that focuses more on the autonomy of the individual. The
deterministic model takes into account the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The final form of capital referenced is the cultural kind. This primarily deals with, from the section
entitled Cultural Capital and Habitus: Bourdieu s Theory of Reproduction, the general cultural
background, knowledge, disposition, and skills that are passed form one generation to the next.
(MacLeod 12) One term related to this premise is habitus, in the same article, Macleod referenced
Bourdieu in relation to this topic. Bourdieu s habitus is composed of the attitudes, beliefs, and
experiences of those inhabiting one s social world (MacLeod 13) and this combination results in
profoundly internalized beliefs and values that influence an individuals reactions toward various
aspects of life, most notable in this situation, education. What is most notable about this is how the
educational system reacts to these ideas of capital. In the article, Bourdieu comments, among all the
solutions put forward throughout history to the problem of the transmission of power and privileges ...
[the] solution which the educational system provides by contributing to the reproduction of the
structure of class relations and by concealing ... the fact that it fills this function. (Bourdieu 72) He
says this because the belief is that schools hold a neutral attitude when it comes to the ideas of capital.
It is this exact form of political correctness is continuing the cycle of the reproduction of inequalities.
An example demonstrating this is when one fills out the

The relationship between these two macroeconomic variables i.e. stock prices and exchange rates has
attracted the minds of economists since they both are very important determinants of the development
of a country s economy. Volatility in exchange rate is a major cause of macroeconomic ambiguity that
affects firms. After the 1970 s, the High rise in international trade and implementation of floating
exchange rate establishment by many countries led to increase exchange rate volatility. Pakistani
currency Rupee was linked with the British Pound Sterling before 1970s. In 1971, Pakistan linked its
currency to the U.S. Dollar due to apparent economic development of USA. During the past ten years,
Pakistan s foreign exchange system has been moving towards a floated and market oriented direction.
Now, Pakistan is maintaining a floating exchange rate with government managed to some extent. Firm
s exposure to exchange rate risk increased due to under these circumstances.
In the literature we identify three types of exposure under floating exchange rate system; economic,
translation and transaction. Translation and transaction exposure are accounting based and explained
in terms of the book values of assets and liabilities denominate in foreign currency value. Economic
exposure is the sensitivity of company value to exchange rate fluctuation. At the corporate level,

During the Holocaust there were tons of violence, especially in concentration camps. Jewish people
placed in these camps were treated brutally and murdered in large numbers. According to
DoSomething.org, about six million Jews were killed in concentration camps. Also, many woman in
concentration camps were sexually abused (Chalmers.) These are few of the many ways violence
occurred at camps during the Holocaust.

Transparency in Apple’s Corporate Statements
Apple, Inc.:
Transparency in Corporate Statements About the CEO
On June 9, 2008, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, numerous
media outlets and a packed house waited to hear Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs s keynote address
introducing the new iPhone 3G. While the product s debut drew raves worldwide, the real buzz was
created by how gaunt and exhausted Steve Jobs appeared on stage. Rumors immediately began
circulating on Internet forums on the apparent source of his condition perhaps a reemergence of the
pancreatic cancer he suffered in 2004 or some new unknown ailment plaguing the widely revered
business icon? Six months after the WWDC, Apple announced that Jobs would not be delivering his

Since Jobs s gaunt appearance at the WWDC in June 2008, Wall Street has been keeping a close eye
on Apple. Its share price has been shifting with the different emerging announcements. While there is
a segment of the public that feels that a person s medical condition is a matter of privacy and not
under the realm of public disclosure, there is a segment that insists that, in this case, it is indeed within
the purview of shareholders. Michael Hiltzik of the Los Angeles Times emphatically stated that Apple
has allowed its institutional arrogance, its culture of secretiveness, and possibly its solicitude for and
fear of Jobs to lead it down a path of rank corporate irresponsibility. 4 Apple is facing credibility
issues with both its corporate communication and with concerns regarding the company s success
without Steve Jobs. As Dylan Ratigan stated on CNBC s Fast Money, ...the quality of information we
re getting from Apple is inconsistent at best and misleading at worst. 5 Combined with post Jobs
jitters, it seems unlikely that such a highly praised, successful company with an extremely loyal
customer base would invoke such backlash and concern about its future over any single employee, but
clearly Steve Jobs proves to be the exception. Early Days Apple Computer was established on April 1,
1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald

Bourgeoisie Vs Proletariat Analysis
Marx identified two social classes which are the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie
owned the product, and the means of production are distribution and the profit. Then, there is the
proletariat also known as laborers these are the people that typically did not have the resources to
invest in mass production. The only thing they could sell was their labor. Marx was a staunch
supporter of the proletariat. He believed that the proletariat gains let up last much in a capitalist
system, and all the bourgeoisie benefited a great deal. He thought that the proletariat would eventually
overthrow the bourgeoisie, and a new economic system would create. Marx believed that society
needed a better means of distributing wealth but also a better way of tapping into a full human
potential. According to Marx what we do is directly connected to ... Show more content on

The world of capitalism puts people in positions of competition. Therefore, everyone looks out for
themselves. A labor competes with others for higher wages, better hours and the best benefits for their
good and not for the best interest of the group. There is little to no concern about a collective common
good or a sense of cooperation.
The last type of alienation is alienation from oneself. Alienation from oneself grabs a person of all
they can be and contribute to the world. Marx believed that what we contribute to the world in terms
ever work is part of our species essence or what makes us human. What we contribute to the world is a
manifestation of our creativity and creativity is an essential part of our human nature and our base
product society. Many people alienated from their very human nature. People lose their sense of self,

Man vs. Self Conflicts in The Lord of the Flies by...
Though The Lord of the Flies never describes a Man vs. Self conflict, there is indeed a definite enemy
among the islanders; haplessly being themselves. Moreover, the retrenchment of the refined attitudes
of the islanders being amended into that of irrational savages is culpable for the tragedies conducted
by the islanders throughout the story. This sort of ancillary and visceral enemy that the islanders
impinge upon is thus apposite to the Man vs. Self conflict style.
To begin, there is a detectable amount of referencing to savagery throughout the story and often it is
what to blame for much of the conflicts in the book as aforementioned. For instance, the frequent and
acerbic collisions among Jack and Ralph with Piggy often describe either Ralph or Jack becoming
savage. In fact, every incident in the book adumbrates to the presence savagery at least peripherally.
For instance, the diurnal (adding wood to fire) was a custom that would most likely have led to the
boys being rescued had they not construed of the existence of a mythical Beast which never transpired
in the physical realm. This conjured beast of superstitious properties precluded an early rescue when it
was created without conferring with logic.
This misconstrued perception heaped upon another was sufficient to effect the death of Simon s very
own life.
As for Piggy s death at Roger s hands, it could be blamed by the diffident Roger s innately sadistic
behaviour that merely inured to a land that

  • 2. The Themes Of Violence In John Winslow s The Cartel As previously mentioned drug cartels are extremely known for their super violent image. Being a narco narrative itself, the storyline couldn t omit the theme of violence without discriminations between men, women and children. A typical scene of violence is that of a trained by the Zetas 11 year old Chicano kid, a sicario, who is on runaway after opening fire against a crowd and tossing five severed heads onto the white tiled dance floor. Winslow uses an unorthodox method at his story as parts of the novel are told from the perspective of a child member of La Familia, suffering from heavy psychic and physical traumas. Even tougher than the outright violence is the slow destruction of idealists either they belong to the braches of journalism or politics. For the first, special memorial reference is included in the book. Winslow is considered to depict the theme of raw violence so as to raise the audience s awareness of the real violence taking place in Mexico and the war on drugs. Therefore, it is rightfully said that The Cartel is a pure novelization of the Mexican American reality. Because of this relative obscurity, many readers might come to believe that most of the events in this book were created and invented by the author. They would be wrong most of the events that Winslow described really happened. Sometimes the truth and reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range 1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with restricted dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this paper, new adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range image on low dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image contrast. Instead of linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma correction with adaptive parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in specific pixels and using nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The optimal compression can finally be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates all window based constraints which can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mandela was the first in his family to attend school, and was actually given the opportunity to go to school because his father was a respected African chief. While in school, he was taught various subjects, but was really stricken by his history class because he was taught about the days where African people lived in peace, before the white people arrived. This particular piece of information was worth mentioning in the paper because the education Mandela received in history class about the peaceful days would later inspire him to fight for an independent South Africa. • 5. Collaboration, Accommodation, And Avoidance My grandfather use to always say the harder the conflict the more the triumph. I ve experienced numerous conflicts in life and each one was handle differently. Some of the styles I ve experienced are collaboration, accommodation, and avoidance. The purpose of this paper is to explain my experienced theses styles at work and school. Collaboration is a style of dealing with conflict emphasizing both cooperation and assertiveness to maximize both parties satisfaction (Bateman, Snell). When I worked as a cook, my job consisted of me deciding on which items were going to be serving on the buffet line. The chef wanted all of the dish items to be beautifully presented and dishes not typically found in buffets. I come up with the menu line up and I start passing out the menus to the cooks. Some of the cooks started to complain immediately after receiving the menu. They were saying they were not going to do what was listed on the menu because it was too difficult. They were saying we needed to put something out that is quicker to make because it is a Friday night, which is the busiest night out of the week. Not considering the volume we were going to be doing this night I pulled the cooks together so we could change the difficult items out. We came up with a menu that was quick to make, but was still able make the dishes stunning, When the shift started the chef came to view the items we had on the line and they loved every single item. The cooks and I identified an issue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. William Coverdale ( 1488-1569 ), The Great Bible William Coverdale (1488 1569), The Great Bible The atmosphere changed in England as Rome and Henry the VIII came into conflict. Henry the VII wanted to divorce his Catholic wife, Katherine of Aragon, the Catholic Church refused. When the Pope refused, Henry VII renounced the Catholic Church and appointed himself head of the Church of England. To spite the Catholic Church and unify his kingdom, he ordered the Bible printed and translated into English, and placed in all the churches, the translation they placed in the churches was the Great Bible. Miles Coverdale was the editor behind the Great Bible, which used the Matthew s Bible as its basis. The size of the Bible, 16 ½ inches by 11 inches was the reason it was called the Great Bible. The Geneva Bible (1560) When Mary Tudor (1553 1558) (Daughter of Henry VIII) became Queen of England, she tried to restore Catholicism Protestants were persecuted and killed. Many fled to John Calvin s Geneva, where another translation of the English Bible was prepared, the Geneva Bible. The Geneva Bible translation (1557, 1560) was done under the direction of William Coverdale and John Knox and influenced by John Calvin. This Bible became popular in England after Mary Tudor s execution and Protestant persecution stopped. An act of the Scottish Parliament required it compulsory for every householder who had an income above a certain amount, to buy a copy of the Geneva Bible. The popularity of the ... • 7. Flight 751 Research Papers Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) Flight 751 landed at Stockholm/Arlanda Airport I on 26 December, 1991, at 2209 hours. Little did they know, within 24 hours that would be the last time it would land at an airport. The plane landed on a slush covered filled after it had snowed at the airport. Upon landing, the wings still had roughly 2,550 kilograms of fuel left in each of them. There the plane sat at a gate and at around 0200 hours on 27 December, 1991, a flight technician had finished inspecting the airplane and had noted that ice had formed on upper portion of the wings. By morning it was noted by a technician at 0730 hours that frost was found on the underside of the wing, but after inspection of the upper wing he could not see any ice formed on it. It would later be found out that there was indeed ice on it, but not a kind that is completely visible, and the ice that was found on the wing was in fact clear ice. The reason this ice likely formed on the wing was due to fuel being left in the wings overnight where the temperature within it was 20° C. Alongside that it had snowed overnight while the plane sat, which made ice and slush build up on the wings. Which amounted to nearly 10 inches of slush on top of the wings, in the morning. After preforming deicing procedures, they concluded that the plane was free of ice and ready for takeoff. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. Three Polls Abstract The objective of this report was to analyse three polls each from different sources, to identify whether they were biased and unfair or unbiased and fair or perhaps a concoction of the two and if the location of the sources affected the reliability and accuracy of the poll. This was done by depicting it into a table with strengths and weaknesses of each of the three polls adjacent to each other. The findings showed all three of the polls were with biased and unfair or unbiased and fair, none of them were a mixture of the two. The sources of the polls did not influence the reliability and accuracy of the poll, rather it contradicted it. All the sources were reliable however the polls had some bias involved with either the wording or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This may be possibly influenced by the sources. Introduction The aim of the report is to investigate whether the polls analysed in the report are fair and unbiased or unfair and biased or a concoction of both. Before any judgements are declared, the definition of what makes a fair and unbiased poll must be outlined. A poll is where people are asked to give their opinions on a subjective or objective matter. A poll diverges into nine types; benchmark polls, tracking polls, bushfire polls, entrance polls, exit polls, deliberative opinion polls, opinion polls, push polls and straw polls. A benchmark poll is generally a short and simple survey of respondent s opinion designated to help political candidates craft their campaigns. Tracking polls are repeated over several consecutive days to create a picture of where opinion is moving over time, to enable a rough report of the campaigns. The bushfire polls are polls taken during the period between the benchmark and tracking polls. The number of brushfire polls taken by a campaign is determined by how competitive the race is and how much money the campaign has to spend. These polls usually focus on likely voters and the ... Touring in a band is a really good way to get known in different areas and not just your local pub. Touring locally would be best for trying to get your name out there and gaining fans. Touring around Australia would be appropriate for when you have quite a lot of fans over Australia. There is no point booking a tour if no one will show up. You will lose a lot of money. Touring overseas will cost a lot more than around Australia and is good for when you are known across different countries. This would take a while to get to this status and would be best to use an agent for overseas bookings and accommodation. Artist managers are important for bands. They do many things for the band to help them; they take care of the business side of things like contacting record companies. • 13. Indonesia Trade Brief Introduction The KOF Index of Globalization ranks Indonesia 87th in the world in total globalization, below its immediate neighbors like Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and well below Singapore. The country ranked 76th in economic globalization, 146th in social globalization and 39th in political globalization. The country s economic globalization score is based on trade flows and restrictions, equally. Indonesia s score in terms of economic trade is likely dragged down by its significant trade barriers. These barriers represent an obstacle to flourishing trade for Indonesia, which otherwise performs well in terms of its international trade profile. Data and Arguments The country s economy is in the trillion dollar class, and ranks 16th in the world, just below Canada and just above Turkey (CIA World Factbook, 2012). With ranks of 27th in the world for exports, 30th for imports, 34th for inbound FDI and 37th for outbound FDI (Ibid), Indonesia s flows are much greater than its globalization ranking would indicate. This points to trade barriers as being a drag on its KOF score. These figures at least to some extent tied to commodity prices, as Indonesia s exports and inbound FDI in particular are tied to its mineral and forest wealth (World Bank, 2010). Indonesia is a member of the World Trade Organization, and therefore is committed to lowering its trade barriers. The WTO publishes statistics on tariffs that illustrate that, in general, the Indonesian trade market ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

President Johnson s spending on the Vietnam War and the Great Society had boosted economic growth to 4.9%, and inflation to an alarming 4.7%. Going into the next presidency in 1968, during the start of the Nixon administration, President Nixon made a number of questionable decisions that led to the mass inflation crisis of the 1970 s. This is because under wage controls workers could no longer get raises, giving them less money to buy goods and services, which as a result decreases demand. Businesses couldn t lower prices to boost demand. Neither could they raise prices, even though the cost of their imported materials rose due to inflation and import taxes. Since they couldn t lower wages, they reduced hiring and therefore demand. Wage price controls created a recession in November of 1973. Nixon eliminated them in April 1974, but the damage took its toll. There were three consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth: 1974 Q3 3.8% ( 3.8%), Q4 1.6% ( 1.6%), 1975 Q1 4.7%( 4.7%). Although the parties have strong differences, both aim to make the United States of America as successful as possible. One link between the two parties is that both believe in following the rules. This is displayed in the Preamble to the Republican Platform when it states, any American who works hard, dreams big and follows the rules can achieve anything he or she wants (GOP). Likewise, the Democratic Party believes that the United States succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, when everyone plays by the same rules (Democrats.org). Effects of an infection include: an increase in the patients length of hospital stay, morbidity and mortality rates, and hospital readmission rates. Objective: To determine if the evidence based practice interventions studied and published can help to decrease the rate of infection occurring in central lines. Data sources: The search engine that was used to find three randomized controlled trial articles and support my PICOT question was PubMed. Key terms that were used to search for them included intensive care unit infections, chlorhexidine dressings, antiseptic solutions, and prevention methods for catheter related infections. A clinical guideline for the prevention of intravascular catheter related infection was retrieved from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Results: The clinical guideline from the AHRQ encouraged interventions like the chlorhexidine impregnated sponge, antiseptic solution, and other precautious measures in order to reduce catheter related infections. The research completed by Atahan and colleagues (2012), Timsit and colleagues (2012), and Timsit and colleagues (2009) concluded that the use of 2% chlorhexidine gel tegaderm dressing, chlorhexidine impregnated sponge, and the antiseptic solution has significantly helped to reduce infection rates in catheters. In this essay he writes about how people watch scary movies and do scary things to show they are not afraid. He also says that people enjoy these things. He says that people like blood, murder, and serial killers. He talks about how society rewards certain emotions and looks down on other emotions. He says that we all feel the emotions that society looks down on but people don t let them show as much. He has flaws within his writings and an invalid argument. Stephen King writes a whole essay about why everyone loves horror movies; but what if someone does not like scary movies? That is a hasty generalization. If King does not even engage the other side of the spectra then his argument is easily dismissed. I hate scary movies to the point I will not watch them. If they are on TV I will get up and do something else. I have seen one scary movie and hated it, since then I have not watched another. Just the fact that I hate scary movies disproves his whole argument that everyone craves them, because I do not. In order to have a well developed essay one must give both sides of the argument. These themes are the desire to save the world, what does it mean to be a person, and why are things the way they are. The latter is the theme that is most prominent through out the entire book. For that reason I have chosen to use conflict perspective. I chose conflict perspective because it is all about the struggle for power. We see the power struggle come up in Ishmael multiple times in terms of the takers feeling like they have all the power, when in fact mother nature has the power and she is letting us use it. No one notices it though because we are all caught up in the story, its not until we take the blinders off that we see the story everywhere. Instead of being labeled as a deviant, everyone goes with the flow and does what they are told, even if it isn t the right thing to do. This is what happened with the people of Germany during the Nazi reign. Ishmael talks about how Adolf Hitler was able to get the people of Germany to do heinous acts to other people just by feeding them a story. There were people in Germany that realized that the story being fed to them was just that a story; but they stayied the course because of the vast number of people enthralled in the story who were willing to give their lives to protect it. Ishmael says to the narrator, I m telling you this because the people of your culture are in much the same situation. Like the people of Nazi Germany, they are captives of a story. This house will be great where children can do various activities, feel comfortable and freely to explore in certain learning centers. Evaluation There are a lot of elements that would currently work for a family child care center. As you walk into the house, there are three windows. There are two windows located at the living room and these two windows are closeby to the yard, which is great. There is a natural light and it will make the children be able to view the yard. The other window located at the cooking area, which is also good, so that children can view the outside environment while they are cooking and eating. The floor is made of tiles. Self Assessment Of The Classroom Essay Self Assessment in the Classroom Self Assessment is process by which students monitor and evaluate the quality of their thinking and behavior when learning and then identify actions that could potentially improve their understanding and skills. Furthermore, self assessment occurs when students check the work they ve accomplished and identify discrepancies between current and desired performance (McMillan Hearn, 2008). Self assessments can be used by the student and the teacher; a student would use it as a way to know if they understand the information the teacher taught; the teacher can use self assessment in order to better the course or teaching techniques. When students self assess their performance, it is important that we know what techniques to apply and with effectiveness. I will be exploring how students self assess their work, and how you can encourage better self assessment technique. This paper will also review studies that relate to self assessment and what has been done to enhance their use. In all studies used, only English as a first language students and students that are not going through special education were able to participate in the study. ( Alternative ) Particulate matter (PM) aggravates asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, heart disease, and lung disease. PM is a carrier of many toxic compounds and contributes to haze. On top of that, it pollutes fresh and coastal waters, and contaminates farmland. PM is emitted mainly from diesel vehicles and is formed from reactions between nitrous oxides and sulfur oxides. ( Alternative ) Ozone (O3), also referred to as smog, is a strong oxidant that reduces lung function, intensify asthma, increase chances for respiratory illness, and lead to permanent lung damage. Also, it may damage plant life. O3, not being a direct vehicle emission, is produced by reactions of nitrous oxides and atmospheric air in the presence of sunlight. The formation of O3 generally occurs more often in urban areas rather than rural. ( Alternative ) Oxides of sulfur (SOx) can cause respiratory illness, heart disease, and lung disease. It causes PM to form, and is a primary cause of acid rain. Most vehicle emissions studies exclude SOx from the list due to the fact that it is emitted at such a small quantity compared to the total amount of emissions given off by regular human activity. Though The Lord of the Flies never describes a Man vs. Self conflict, there is indeed a definite enemy among the islanders; haplessly being themselves. Moreover, the retrenchment of the refined attitudes of the islanders being amended into that of irrational savages is culpable for the tragedies conducted by the islanders throughout the story. This sort of ancillary and visceral enemy that the islanders impinge upon is thus apposite to the Man vs. Self conflict style. To begin, there is a detectable amount of referencing to savagery throughout the story and often it is what to blame for much of the conflicts in the book as aforementioned. For instance, the frequent and acerbic collisions among Jack and Ralph with Piggy often describe either Ralph or Jack becoming savage. In fact, every incident in the book adumbrates to the presence savagery at least peripherally. For instance, the diurnal (adding wood to fire) was a custom that would most likely have led to the boys being rescued had they not construed of the existence of a mythical Beast which never transpired in the physical realm. This conjured beast of superstitious properties precluded an early rescue when it was created without conferring with logic.
