Synthesis Of Selective Attention
Attention is the behavioural and cognitive process of selectively concentrating on one aspect of the
environment while ignoring other things. Attention has also been referred to as the allocation of
processing re. Once you are able to attend you are then able to selectively attend to a stimuli. Selective
attention is focusing on a particular object for a particular amount of time. Once doing that you are
simultaneously ignoring irrelevant information that is occurring around you. (Chevette Alston, 2011)
Selective attention involves choosing what you addend to. It is often about how much we attend to and
to what we attend to. Selective attention is the process by which a person finds something upon which

It was conducted on 14 females and 14 males. A total of 28 participants. The procedure was then to
show the participants a video on YouTube of a man holding up pieces of paper with different words on
them. The man would keep changing the pieces of paper and on most of the pieces of paper there were
exclamation marks on them. The Aim of the video was to count how many exclamation marks were
on the pieces of paper. Participants had to focus on counting the exclamation marks throughout the
video. Whilst different objects were moving or appearing in background. There were three different
ages that participated in the experiment with 16 of them being 18, 11 being 17 and 1 being 16. These
participants were all given the same questions and watched the same video. After the participants
watched the video they were all given a questionnaire to fill out. They were asked multiple questions
about their age and gender. They were then asked how many exclamation marks they saw followed by
if they saw any objects change while watching the video. And if so what objects were they. They were
also asked if they saw the clock moving backwards in the video. In this experiment there were no
ethical concerns that needed consideration.
Figure one shows 15 out of the 28 go the right answer to how many exclamation marks there was. 6 of
them were males and 9 of them were females. 13 out of the 28 did not get the right answer. 8 of them

Heron Of Alexandria Research Paper
Heron of Alexandria, also referred to as hero, was a greek mathematician. Heron was a writer whose
works brought forth knowledge to not only mathematics, but also engineering and mechanics. It is
difficult to determine when Heron was born because record were not as organized and important as
they are today. Some used to believe that Heron was born around 150 BC, while others believed that
he was born in 250 AD. These estimates come from the fact that Heron never quotes from anyone s
work that is earlier than Archimedes. Later it was proven that both of these times are in fact, wrong.
Heron was a contemporary of Columella. This meaning he was a Greek soldier and farmer who wrote
extensively on agriculture and similar subjects, hoping to foster in people a ... Show more content on

Heron s work resembled lecture notes in works that surrounded, mathematics, physics, pneumatics,
and mechanics. Some textbooks have even been recovered that are believed to have been written by
Heron himself. Many works by Heron have been recovered over the years, however authenticity, as
well as authorship are questionable. Heron was an extremely common name during his time period.
Heron was sometimes transcribed correctly, while other times it became Hero. Soon the Romans and
Greek took up the nickname of Hero to men named Heron. This makes it very hard for historians to
determine which works were that of mathematician Heron and of others that simply just shared the
name. Historians debate that Heron s most important work was the Metrica . The Metrica is a series of
three books that included formulas and geometric rules that Heron had discovered. These formulas
included how to find the areas and volumes of plane figures, as well as solid figures. Book I included
one of the more famous formulas still used today. This formula was how to find the area of a

Egypt under Mubarak
Egypt plays an extremely significant role as one of the major powers in the Middle East. Egyptian
force in the Arab world stems from the strength of its cultural life which makes it extremely difficult
to be ignored. The book, Egypt under Mubarak features essays from seven different authors, which
examine the causes and consequences of the many crises Egypt has faced. Mubarak comes into power
taking upon himself the previous Egyptian political, sociological, and economic problems left by
Sadat and Nasser. The present administration attempts to fix these problems by employing Egypt s
significant resources in the forming of a distinct and effective international role.
Vice President Hosni Mubarak succeeded Sadat as president. After Sadat ... Show more content on

The book touches on topics with a broad range from politics to economy to geography. The book is
solely based on research of the Egyptian government from the time when Mubarak took power, 1981,
up until the writing of the book which was in 1989.
Throughout the book, 16 books are cited. Even though the book is based on the government under
Mubarak, the writers refer to events that were held before Mubarak was put into power which helps
the reader understand the important history behind the present. After each chapter, there are
bibliographies as well as endnotes in some chapters listing the sources used in the passage. Except for
the Chapter on the National Debt where his previous statements based on The Central Bank of Egypt,
Cairo contradicts his final assessment of the sum.
The writers of each section always tend to agree with the sources that they have cited. With this
known, I was able to see that the writers in each chapter took into account the other writings of
scholars that wrote on similar topics. Because of the writers many sources, they are able to give an
unbiased look into the history of the Egyptian Government. They examine both the positive and
negative aspects of Mubarak as President specifically laws he passes and actions he takes towards not
only Egyptians, but also the Arab Israeli relationship, as well as foreign relations with Arab countries
and the western world. Charles Tripp goes into detail about the

But come, young waverer, come, go with me. In one respect I ll thy assistant be, for this alliance may

end the feud. Romeo and Juliet trust the Friar and hope he will keep their marriage a secret and

GLG Case Study
Determining age is extremely difficult when is comes to providing an accurate method that does not
require the killing or substantial harm of animal. Most aging methods of marine animals involve
counting of growth rings in hard structures, such as bone or teeth. For the Beluga and most
Odontocetes scientists have been counting the growth layer groups (GLG) on their teeth. However,
there have been conflicting reports on if Belugas lay growth bands annually or biannually. This is
because scientists will use a variety of methods to confirm their hypothesis of 1 or 2 GLGs a year.
Solving this discrepancy and finding an accurate method for aging is critical to the understanding of
the Belugas life history. Knowing an animals life history allows ... Show more content on

If only one reader counts the GLGs they could be dramatically over or underestimating GLGs if there
are multiple irregularities in the bands or if the reader isn t very good at counting them, whether its
due to inexperience or they aren t detail oriented or they simply counted late at night. Consequently,
the age would be inaccurate. In particularly studies that state that belugas deposit 1 GLG per year;
each missed or double counted ring would be altering the age by a full year. Both papers used more
than 1 reader, except Bella from Brodie s review, and take variance of counts into consideration using
bias plots or CVs. The large difference in the methods used to determine if deposits happened 1 or 2 a
year was the actual variability of the teeth themselves. More specifically Stewart s paper used
archived wild teeth, while Brodie s review paper mainly touched on studies that used teeth from
recently deceased captive animals. As mentioned many times throughout most papers, captive animals
tend to have irregular deposit patterns in GLGs once they become captive. Who s then to say that the
irregularities are not only in how the deposits form, but also in terms of how long they take to form.
While we can only be certain that in captivity the deposits were 2 per year because we have the total
amount of years in captivity; the age of

My First Semester At Byu Idaho
I was desperately lost while studying theater during my first semester at Brigham Young University
Idaho. It was what I enjoyed during high school, but I want a career where I am able to spend time
with my family and one where I d be in a position to improve the lives of others. After taking my first
acting class I knew it wasn t what I wanted to do. Since then, I have considered everything from
psychology to accounting. Research and volunteer opportunities, advice from trusted mentors, and my
education played roles in my decision process. I learned to manage my time wisely in order to spend
time with my family. Most importantly, I was able to decide on a career in optometry, and have since
planned out what I want to do after optometry school.
After my first semester at BYU Idaho, I took a two year break from school to serve as a missionary for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Africa. I dedicated my time to serve the people
surrounding me. Usually the service was simple things: helping wash laundry by hand, preparing
meals, cleaning or even building a mud home. I enjoyed every bit of service I was able to offer. My
parents taught me the importance of hard work, and my upbringing is the reason I find joy in serving
others. This joy has guided me as I have chosen my career path.
I have a beautiful wife and a one year old daughter. Being a father has taught me how to manage my
time more efficiently. Our daughter was born the week before finals. The first

debts I owe. Bassanio is admitting to Antonio that he has squandered his wealth. Here we perceive
him to be a young man who has a habit of spending money frivolously, which builds on the idea that
he is irresponsible. The audience is also displeased with Bassanio because he isn t as solicitous as ...

Bassanio makes Lancelot feel welcome as his new servant by demanding a follower of his to Give him

Shortly before Bassanio and Gratiano take a trip to Belmont, Bassanio points out to Gratiano Thou art
too wild, too rude, too bold of voice. He isn t unfairly criticising him, Bassanio wants to make a good
impression on Portia. Bassanio needs to be entitled to a high class status when he reaches Belmont, so
that he can woo Portia. This suggests that he wants to make an effort to please her, and he is possibly
worthy of her love after all.
While he is in Belmont, Portia makes an absolute declaration of love by stating One half of me is
yours, the other half yours. At this point, Bassanio is aware of the fact that Portia is definitely in love
with him. However, he feels guilty when he says Let me choose/For as I am, I live upon the rack. In
this extended metaphor of torture, Portia replies Then confess/What treason there is mingled with your
love. This metaphor speaks about trust and suggests that Bassanio wants to tell Portia the truth about
his financial status, but he s unwilling to because he is afraid of disappointing her. This language of
intimacy proves that he cares about Portia and does not want her to lose interest in him. Yet again, this

Current State Of Fuel And World Energy Demand
Current State of fuel World Energy Demand
Post 18th Century Industrial revolution has created a dependency on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and
natural gas for all technological and transportation demands that engineer modern society. However.
Such demands, and even their expected future demands threatens the overall worlds energy supply and
generates large strains on the environment. The Hydrogen economy article published by Physics
Today in December 2004 anticipated that the world energy demand will double by 2050 in response to
population growth and industrialisation of developing countries. (Crabtree, Dresselhaus and
Buchanan, 2004).
An article by Todd Woody of The Atlantic (Woody, 2013) has stated that developing countries will
account for 65% of the world s energy consumption by 2040. The majority of such consumption being
produced by non OCED nations such as India and China. This figure was published by the United
States Energy Information Administration. This can be summarised as a 2.2% annual increase in fossil
fuel usage in non OCED countries compared to that of 0.5% in OCED communities such as some of
the EU, North America and Australia. Figure 1.1 iProjected world energy consumption (Eia.gov, 2013)
Further study has shown that due to this increased demand for fossil fuels, the Global Carbon Project
showed a 2.1% increase in greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. With 57% of those emissions coming
from developing countries. India and China contributed a third of

Is There Such Thing As Love At First Sight In Romeo And...
Question: Is there such thing as love at first sight in Romeo Juliet?
Introduction: Romeo Juliet is the classic story of love. The idea and message of love reverberates
through the story, and because of the perfect writing by Shakespeare, it is often considered one of the
greatest pieces of literature in history. Throughout the story, many people mistake true love for lust. It
is one of the most commonly made mistakes with teenagers. Many people have mny different
opinions and definitions of what true love is and in short, my definition of true love is this. Love is the
loyal dedication to another that grows over time. And the definition of lust is the want or need for
something. And with teenagers, there is often confusion between

How Did Plato Argue The Soul
In this brief segment of Plato s work he is trying to argue that the soul, rather than being one, actually
has different parts. He claims and tries to justify that the soul must have three different parts to it, each
responsible for creating different urges that a person has. On page 111 of Plato s Republic he
establishes that the same one thing will not experience opposites within the same one part of itself
over the same thing, at the same time. So, therefore if someone finds this occurring in the soul it can
be established that the soul is not one but instead made out of different parts. He then shows an
example of this occurring in the soul in order to argue the soul does indeed have parts. On pages 114
and 115 he says that someone can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The premise of the same thing will not undergo opposites within the same part of itself in regards to
the same thing at the exact same time, so therefore when the soul gives you two opposite urges (e.g.
thirsty but you don t want to get a drink) it proves that the soul must have different parts, is a premise
that I do indeed agree with. I believe what Plato is saying here as I do not think the same part of one s
soul can be responsible for making someone have two completely opposite urges. I also agree with the
premise that there is a third part to the soul, the spirit. At first I questioned it thinking that this was
indeed one in the same with the rational but then the good point is made that small children are clearly
full with spirit yet are not rational so therefore they cannot be one in the same. This argument sold me
on the third part of the soul. The one argument I couldn t get on board with was when Plato wrote that
thirst is just for drink, and not one of a specific kind. I think that personally one can be craving a
specific type of drink, regardless of environment, (e.g. orange juice) and their thirst will not be
quenched by any drink but by only the drink they are craving. Plato makes it seem that one cannot
urge a specific drink but only drink in general. Although I do disagree with that specific part, in the
end the overall argument was

The Modernist Attributes of C.L.R. James’s Minty Alley...
The Modernist Attributes of C.L.R. James s Minty Alley
Born in Trinidad and later expatriating himself first to London and then the United States, C.L.R.
James was a key figure of the West Indian literary scene during the 1930s. Today he is primarily
associated with his nonliterary writings in sociology and politics, and his fiction seems to have
dropped from critical attention. Part of this shortsightedness stems from the fact that little of his fiction
is readily available to a reading public in this country. Although a selection of his shorter work is now
available in The C.L.R. James Reader (1992), the only extant edition of James novel Minty Alley

In part, my desired shift of critical focus is a response against the predominant tendency in Anglo
American literary studies of underestimating the formal experimentation of early twentieth century
Caribbean writing. Critics tend to construct narratives in which British, American, and continental
European writers set the standard for and carry out the work of producing modernist experimentation.
Those few critics who have turned their attention to James fiction continue to follow suit of this
general critical trend. Paget Henry and Paul Buhle have remarked that this author s value lies in his
status as an anti colonial writer, an identity that they believe to be affirmed by Minty Alley because of
the careful artistic representation [that it] gives to the lives of working class Trinidadians and its
affirmation of the creative self projections that such individuals established in relation to their world
(122). James did envision his novel as a populist one, affirming his own mothers s adage that [t]o
write forblack people in the Caribbean was a distinction (James interviewedin Henry and Buhle 57).
But does its accessibility to a contemporary audience preclude the incorporation of experimental
elements? Aldon Lynn Nielsen, a prominent promoter of James s workin this country, perpetuates the
mythos that modernist

Sleep Cycle Stages
Sleep is a condition were the body mind which is typically recurs for several hours every night in
which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed the postural muscles relax and
consciousness practically suspended.
Usually sleep passes through four stages of sleep and (REM) Rapid Eye Movement sleep. A complete
sleep cycle takes an average of 90 minutes to 110 minutes. The first sleep cycle of sleep are short
REM sleeps and long periods of deep sleep.
Stage 1 is a type of sleep where you drift in and out of your sleep. You can be easily awake. The eye
moves slow and muscle activity is slow during this stage. During these stages many can experience
sudden muscle contractions proceeding by sensation of falling. Stage 2 eye movement stops in your
brain wave become slower with only an occasional burst for rapid waves. Stage 3 ... Show more

In deep sleep there are no eye movement or any kind of muscle activity. This is when some children
experience bedwetting, sleepwalking, and or has night terrors. In 2008 the sleep professionals
eliminated the use of stage 4. And stages 3 4 are what most people experience. Slow waves sleep
comes mostly in the first half of your sleep. (REM) is the second half. Walking may occur after
(REM) if the walking period is long enough, the person may remember it the next morning. Infants
spend almost 50% of their time in (REM) sleep. Adults spend nearly half of their sleep in stage 2,
older adults spend less time in their (REM) sleep.
To get the most of our sleep both quantity and quality are important. Adults need about 8 hours and on
average 9 ½ hours of interrupted sleep. Sleep helps us thrive by contributing to a healthy immune
system, and can also balance our appetites by helping to regulate levels of the hormones ghrelin and
leptin which play a role in our feelings.

Compare The First Meeting Of Sir Lancelot And Queen Guinevere
Synthesis Essay
Queen Guinevere has been presented in innumerable Arthurian tales, all with various accounts of her
legacy. Her portrayal in the legends changes with time going from a dreadful sinner and unfaithful
wife in Chretien de Troyes Knight of the Cart to someone with feminist ideals in Sallie Bridges The
First Meeting of Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere . The reason for such a dramatic change in her
character derives out of the increased fight for women s equality from the 12th century to the 19th
century. The oppressive nature towards women can be seen in the depiction of Guinevere in Chretien
de Troyes Knight of the Cart. This story gives Guinevere an unchristian, unfaithful look. Taking on a
sacrilegious light Guinevere disrespects her god by committing adultery, contemplating suicide, and
lusting while she prays. Her infamous affair is with the knight Sir Lancelot, the right hand man of her
husband King Arthur. In her rebellious nature, she decides to spend one night of excitement with
another man rather than filling her expected role of a faithful wife. When Guinevere hears the news of
Lancelot death, she contemplates suicide because she couldn t bear life without her lover. Suicide in
the 12th century was one of the worst crimes to commit against the church ,therefore it was considered
shameful. One of the most egregious sins she commits is coveting Lancelot s body while she is
praying, wishing, both of them naked (1987 trans., p. 244) as it

America s Illegal Immigration Reform
There are few topics in America as controversial as illegal immigration. With the standards of living
for the lower class workers in Mexico as poor as they are, hundreds of men, women and children cross
America s southern border illegally every year in search of better opportunities for themselves and
their offspring. As the 2016 presidential election has illustrated, America is very split on the issue.
Republican nominee Donald Trump has stated that if elected president he will build a massive wall
along America s southern border, and that illegal immigrants will be deported en masse. Democratic
nominee Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has stated that she will lead immigration reform if elected.

Heidy Sarabia, in her paper titled Perpetual Illegality: Results of Border Enforcement and Policies for
Mexican Undocumented Migrants in the United States, argues that heightened border security and
legalization restrictions created America s illegal immigration problem in the first place. For example,
she states that The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) created mixed status families
by only allowing illegal immigrants who had lived in the United States throughout the entirety of 1982
1987 to alter their legal status (Sarabia). She goes on to explain that These mixed status families are
one of the most important elements that pull migrants to return to the United States... , and that any
attempt to reform immigration that does not address this problem will only serve to create more mixed
status families (Sarabia). Additionally, Sarabia explains that illegal immigrants in the United States are
settling for longer periods of time than they have in the past for two reasons: First, leaving the United
States decreases their opportunities for adjusting their legal status, and second, the intensification of
border enforcement has made it more difficult and expensive to return to the United States . So, in
order to be with their families, Sarabia argues, and because of the dangers and expense now associated
with illegally crossing the border, many undocumented immigrants choose to stay in America as long
as they can since obtaining a visa and visiting legally is not an option for many. Sarabia offers an
example in the form of Sandra, a Mexican citizen who at the time was trying to enter America to see
her sick sister. She attempted to get a visa, but was turned down as many are (Sarabi). Presented with
no other options she had little choice but to attempt to cross the border illegally (Sarabia). During the

these reasons, the luxury watch industry does not face an imminent threat of losing most of its
customers to the smartwatch makers in the next decade. However, at the same time, the industry also
cannot ignore the risk of losing its customers who love technology. The desire to display style with
status can now be fulfilled through smart watches made by strong brands like Apple. The luxury watch
retailers have witnessed a decline in the revenue in 2015 as compared to 2014, the same is shown
through the below graph. The decline in revenue correlates with the increase in units of smart watches
sold, this was more so in the last quarter of

The Zone Diet And Protein Analysis
Earlier we learned that water is the main chemical in our bodies. Coming in number two is protein.
The word protein actually means first substance due to the fact that the first food fuel we ever
consumed was our mother s milk. Milk is the only food specifically designed to sustain mammalian
life and therefore human life. Milk has two protein groups:
Whey which is the complete protein that makes milk so essential to life and;
Casein which is used for manufacturing cheese and other milk by products.
One of the problems you can have in understanding protein is that there is so much information out
there on protein, most of it contradictory, most of it wrong. It s time that you had the truth about
protein; just the facts and nothing but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Single Free Form Amino Acids
Single free form amino acids are manufactured through fermentation by microorganisms in large
biological chambers. These can be manufactured as pharmaceutical grade pure injectables or as food
grade products. As food products, amino acids they are very costly, taste terrible, have poor mixability,
high digestive irritability and are absorbed relatively slowly.
3. Soy Protein
As scientists we find it particularly vexing that there is so much information being peddled by
marketing companies regarding soy protein being the best source of protein for women. This is due to
the fact that soy is a BIG business in the US. And soy manufacturers actually have lobbyists on the
payroll helping to create the big lie. There is no other way to state the facts other than to say that
calling soy the best, most complete protein for women is totally inaccurate as it is missing a highly
critical amino acid, methionine. Facts are facts and there is no way to dispute this

Hunting Whales Research
Countries should be permitted to hunt some species of whales. Hunting whales is a tradition that has
been around for hundreds of years. The problem now is that Japan, Norway and even Iceland are are
hunting whales under the pretense of scientific purposes. (The Truth about Scientific , 2016) There
should be an exemption that also has regulation in order to protect the whale population. Each nation
is setting their own standards of how many they can hunt, and if the rest of the world is concerned
with their practices, then coming to a compromise should be something to visualize for the future.
Since Norway and Japan are not cooperation in stopping the hunting of whales, a compromise should

Young people don t get jobs with the fisheries, because it s very hard and doesn t pay well. (Phelan,

a compromise with the international law. On the other, they should also accept where popular opinion
is headed. Like human sacrifices, not every cultural activity is going to stay around forever. To please
everyone, the compromise should be transitional. Eventually, whaling is going to lose its market.

Technology In Ww2
Technology has made a huge difference in the world since history, and it has been a reason why
people are more social. In the old times since the 1960 s to the 1980 s many people didn t knew where
many things came from or they didn t knew how it was made or know anything about technology.
Until, in the year 1440 printing press came as a form of technology to people that allowed them to
write news on newspapers and inform the people many things about what was going on in the world
and how many things were created. Whenever WW2 came that was when technology started to
develop more and it helped many soldiers create bombs and destroy houses and become more
powerful. In advantage it didn t helped them enough to win the war which is a good thing. One of the
most useful transportations that was used in WW2 was the railway also known as a train that was
created in 1804. It helped transport many jews to the concentration camps whenever WW2 started. ...

The Beliefs Of The Monster In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Frankenstein s Monster
Three narrators deep, a God complex, and an unpleasant appearance; Frankenstein will withstand the
test of time. Novels and movies alike bounce back and forth between religious conflicts and God like
scenarios; society loves a power struggle that ultimately is overcome by a superior being. Storytelling
has been in circulation for thousands of years; from old Bible stories to grandma reciting a recipe,
people have enjoyed the pleasant sounds of their loved one s imaginations. Today s culture loves a
pretty face; super models and Hollywood actors are what people strive to look like. Many perspectives
of one story, a God complex, and an ugly face will forever keep this novel in circulation.
Originally, the story flip flops between Victor Frankenstein and his creation speaking on behalf of
their own accounts and partially of each other s. Robert Walton, the man Victor tells his side of the
story too, relays the tale to his sister in the form of letters. Upon Walton s sister receiving these letters,
the original story many have been jumbled up and the true voyages that occurred may have been lost.
The use of many narrators makes it tricky for readers to one hundred percent comprehend what
occurred because everyone tells the same story differently to fit their own personal needs. A more
modern example of many speakers telling the same story is The Girl on The Train; in Paula Hawkins
chilling novel, readers get a sneak peak in the lives of three women whom

Essay about Policies and Politics in Madagascar
Madagascar is among the countries that are termed as least developed in the world today (United
Nations, 2001). The implementation of trade agreement based on agriculture sector led to sluggishness
in the various market dynamics of the available grains. In addition to this, the quantity of grains was
declining and as a consequence of this, the revenues generated declined at an alarming rate. The
country was therefore obliged to opt for food import. This step was taken as a result of reduction in
the amount of aid granted to the government, and subsequent subsidization of exports. Since
Madagascar could not afford to offer export subsidization, the country s exports were highly affected
by the established policies such as non tariff ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The common people were involved in the actual digging of the gem. However, they just received
peanuts from the sale of the stones, while the wealthy would gain enormous cash from the sale of the
same. This was attributed to the fact that, the wealthy had all the necessary connections to
international markets. Despite this, the mining of gem was characterized by myriad negative effects to
the local environment. However, attempts from various non governmental organizations (NGOs) and
donors to challenge the same, were completely blocked by the shadow state that had a very great
influence in Madagascar. Moreover, the mining act is practiced in selected and secured areas thus
limiting the efforts of various national and related international agencies to protect or conserve the
immediate surroundings. On the other side, the potential grounds for gem mining are located in the
secured government areas, and the rainforest zones which are known to have an enormous degree of
biodiversity. Thus many NGOs find it cumbersome to advocate for ecotourism and national parks.
This is attributed to the fact that NGOs are not able to prove to the Government, potential donors, and
various available private business that ecotourism earns more revenue which is sustainable than
carrying out gem mining in the area. The inherent gem mining in the area has resulted to an
overwhelming cultural as well as political impact in the vicinity of the local areas. This

health care systems are various. People living in separate countries are in quite different position

Greenland Norse Collapse
The Choices Societies Make and the Challenges Surrounding Them The choices the Greenland Norse,
the people of Easter Island, and the people of Haiti made directly contributed to their societal collapse.
Their environmental fragility advanced their downfall, but ultimately their poor decision making led
to their collapse. The Greenland Norse s and people of Easter Island s incorrect choices were mostly
due to social challenges and reluctance to abandon traditions, but the incorrect choices of the Haitian
people were due to selfness and impulsiveness. The Greenland Norse are an excellent example of a
society that has collapsed because of the choices they have made, but they also serve as an example of
a society who suffered great challenges when considering these alternative solutions. In particular, the
Greenland Norse s lack of adaptability in the decision s they favored regarding hunting, livestock, the
relationship with the Inuit, and the need for European identity drove their society to a collapse. The
Norse came to Greenland with traditional hunting and livestock customs such as growing hay to feed
their large number of livestock. They practically ignored all other types of hunting that would have

class and making the collective economy of Haiti grow, Haiti s elite identified strongly with France

Throughout history religion has played an important role influencing various societies. Religious
beliefs have been embedded in legal systems, social status, economics, sexuality and politics in
ancient and modern societies. This concept is applicable to Ancient Athens. The Greek religion
consisted of various Gods and Goddesses that represented different elements of Greek life. The
practice of various gods or polytheism is ta partria. The religion of Greeks differs drastically from

Descriptive Essay On A Dreamy Island
Imagine a place of pure bliss, where time is seemingly endless, simplicity is valued and relaxation is a
top priority. In our everyday lives where stress is customary and chaos is routine, it is hard to visualize
a place of such carefreeness. I too believed there could be no such place until I found it for myself.
When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the
shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction.
During phases of anxiety and trouble, there is one place in particular that my heart longs to be. Marco
Island, Florida.
My father proposed the idea of vacationing on Marco Island before the summer of 2016 after hearing
multiple people rave to him about the breathtaking beaches and unforgettable experiences. My mother
and I had never heard of Marco Island, but after five short minutes of browsing through images online
of the picturesque island, we were instantly captivated and could not wait to see it for ourselves. After
what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we finally arrived on the dreamy
island. Grinning from ear to ear, we buckled ourselves into the rental car, feeling anxious to explore.
Unlike in Missouri, glossy green palm trees lined every street, which made us feel like we had entered
an alternate universe. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was supposedly only
a six minute walk from Marco

Cystic Fibroblasts
Fibroblasts are mesenchymal cells that play an important role in the wound healing process. These
cells are responsible for releasing inflammatory agents that recruit white blood cells to areas of
damaged tissue. Fibroblasts also respond to these chemicals and differentiate into myofibroblasts.
These myofibroblasts are characterized by their up regulated rate of extracellular matrix component
production and their ability to physically manipulate the extracellular matrix. When the wound healing
process becomes unregulated, this results in what is referred to as a fibrotic response (Kendall). As a
result fibrosis, or the thickening and scarring of connective tissues, occurs. Fibrosis is the excess
deposition of ECM components like collagen and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first experiment we ran was the α smooth muscle actin (asma) stain. The purpose of this stain was
to use a primary and secondary antibody to indirectly stain the microfilaments that characterize
myofibroblasts. Under a fluorescent microscope, this will provide a visual representation of how many
fibroblasts in our samples had differentiated into myofibroblasts. To set up for this experiment,
fibroblasts were plated on coverslips and incubated for seven days, to reach 100% confluency, in
either the presence or absence of allopurinol. After one week the coverslips were fixed with methanol
and the first antibody, a mouse anti human asma, was applied onto the coverslip and kept refrigerated
overnight. The next day the coverslips were rinsed with PBS, all rinses are performed with PBS, and
the second antibody, a goat anti mouse rhodamine, was applied to the coverslips for thirty minutes in a
dark place. Lastly, after another rinse, a DAPI counterstain, which would interact with the DNA in the
nucleus of every fibroblast to make them visible, was applied for fifteen minutes and rinsed. Then the
coverslips were mounted onto slides with glycerol and looked at under the fluorescent microscope.
The nuclei of all of the cells lit up blue and the microfilaments in the differentiated fibroblasts,
myofibroblasts, lit up bright

The Discovery Of Its Effects On The Body
B nCreatine was first found in 1832 by a French scientist named Michel Eugene Chevreul. This
discovery was found by isolating it from the basified water extract of the skeletal muscle in animals.
He named it creatine after he found concentration of it in animal blood and meat. Justus Von Liebug
confirmed in the year 1847 that creatine can be found in the flesh of animal. During his research he
also found that wild foxes have more creatine in their muscles than their domestic counterparts.
Around 1846, the decomposed product of creatine/creatinine was present in urine. In 1923, the first
research demonstrated that when animals were to intake oral creatine, the result was an increase in
their weight. After they were to stop or slow their creatine intake, their weight increased slowly over
the period of time. In 1926, Alfred Chanutin, showed in his study that humans can retain the storage of
creatine in their muscles by taking 10 grams of creatine during the period of a week. The weight
gained caused by the intake of creatine allowed Chanutin to come to a conclusion that it has an
anabolic effect on humans. However, taking creatine from meat is very expensive for researchers so
they started trying to produce the synthetic version of creatine. This was successfully done in the
laboratory in the 1950 s. The research studies done in 1978 confirmed that creatine guarantees that
nitrogen is retained better in the muscles. This in turns helps muscles to recover faster. Within this

Psychics And The Lottery Essay
Psychics and the Lottery
There s a controversial saying that if psychics really have the ability to predict the future, then why
don t they win the lottery? Well, in fact, psychics do win the lottery all the time. When you do your
research there are plenty of stories of self proclaimed psychics who won the lottery. There are news
stories about them and there are even some lottery winners who claimed to receive their winning
numbers from psychics and shamans.
Of course, you shouldn t trust certain television psychics who just want to milk the public for money.
These people are straight up liars or they will analyze and say things that anybody can see in a person.
Some of these psychics use astrology predictions to help them get an angle on a person, but when it
comes to real predictions they re clueless. However, there are psychics who are truly about that life.
They can predict the future and it takes them a little bit of time to do it. These psychics are low key
and they don t do it for money. They have a spiritual gift and want to share it with people. There is a
rule in the real psychic community that says you can t use your powers for personal gain, and this is
the reason why many real psychics don t typically play the lottery. But there are some who receive

  • 2. Synthesis Of Selective Attention Attention is the behavioural and cognitive process of selectively concentrating on one aspect of the environment while ignoring other things. Attention has also been referred to as the allocation of processing re. Once you are able to attend you are then able to selectively attend to a stimuli. Selective attention is focusing on a particular object for a particular amount of time. Once doing that you are simultaneously ignoring irrelevant information that is occurring around you. (Chevette Alston, 2011) Selective attention involves choosing what you addend to. It is often about how much we attend to and to what we attend to. It was conducted on 14 females and 14 males. A total of 28 participants. The procedure was then to show the participants a video on YouTube of a man holding up pieces of paper with different words on them. The man would keep changing the pieces of paper and on most of the pieces of paper there were exclamation marks on them. The Aim of the video was to count how many exclamation marks were on the pieces of paper. Participants had to focus on counting the exclamation marks throughout the video. Whilst different objects were moving or appearing in background. There were three different ages that participated in the experiment with 16 of them being 18, 11 being 17 and 1 being 16. These participants were all given the same questions and watched the same video. After the participants watched the video they were all given a questionnaire to fill out. They were asked multiple questions about their age and gender. They were then asked how many exclamation marks they saw followed by if they saw any objects change while watching the video. • 3. Heron Of Alexandria Research Paper Heron of Alexandria, also referred to as hero, was a greek mathematician. Heron was a writer whose works brought forth knowledge to not only mathematics, but also engineering and mechanics. It is difficult to determine when Heron was born because record were not as organized and important as they are today. Some used to believe that Heron was born around 150 BC, while others believed that he was born in 250 AD. These estimates come from the fact that Heron never quotes from anyone s work that is earlier than Archimedes. Later it was proven that both of these times are in fact, wrong. Heron was a contemporary of Columella. This meaning he was a Greek soldier and farmer who wrote extensively on agriculture and similar subjects, hoping to foster in people a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heron s work resembled lecture notes in works that surrounded, mathematics, physics, pneumatics, and mechanics. Some textbooks have even been recovered that are believed to have been written by Heron himself. Many works by Heron have been recovered over the years, however authenticity, as well as authorship are questionable. Heron was an extremely common name during his time period. Heron was sometimes transcribed correctly, while other times it became Hero. Soon the Romans and Greek took up the nickname of Hero to men named Heron. This makes it very hard for historians to determine which works were that of mathematician Heron and of others that simply just shared the name. Historians debate that Heron s most important work was the Metrica . The Metrica is a series of three books that included formulas and geometric rules that Heron had discovered. These formulas included how to find the areas and volumes of plane figures, as well as solid figures. Book I included one of the more famous formulas still used today. This formula was how to find the area of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Egyptian force in the Arab world stems from the strength of its cultural life which makes it extremely difficult to be ignored. The book, Egypt under Mubarak features essays from seven different authors, which examine the causes and consequences of the many crises Egypt has faced. Mubarak comes into power taking upon himself the previous Egyptian political, sociological, and economic problems left by Sadat and Nasser. The present administration attempts to fix these problems by employing Egypt s significant resources in the forming of a distinct and effective international role. The book touches on topics with a broad range from politics to economy to geography. The book is solely based on research of the Egyptian government from the time when Mubarak took power, 1981, up until the writing of the book which was in 1989. Throughout the book, 16 books are cited. Even though the book is based on the government under Mubarak, the writers refer to events that were held before Mubarak was put into power which helps the reader understand the important history behind the present. After each chapter, there are bibliographies as well as endnotes in some chapters listing the sources used in the passage. Except for the Chapter on the National Debt where his previous statements based on The Central Bank of Egypt, Cairo contradicts his final assessment of the sum. The writers of each section always tend to agree with the sources that they have cited. With this known, I was able to see that the writers in each chapter took into account the other writings of scholars that wrote on similar topics. Because of the writers many sources, they are able to give an unbiased look into the history of the Egyptian Government. They examine both the positive and negative aspects of Mubarak as President specifically laws he passes and actions he takes towards not only Egyptians, but also the Arab Israeli relationship, as well as foreign relations with Arab countries and the western world. • 8. GLG Case Study Determining age is extremely difficult when is comes to providing an accurate method that does not require the killing or substantial harm of animal. Most aging methods of marine animals involve counting of growth rings in hard structures, such as bone or teeth. For the Beluga and most Odontocetes scientists have been counting the growth layer groups (GLG) on their teeth. However, there have been conflicting reports on if Belugas lay growth bands annually or biannually. This is because scientists will use a variety of methods to confirm their hypothesis of 1 or 2 GLGs a year. Solving this discrepancy and finding an accurate method for aging is critical to the understanding of the Belugas life history. Knowing an animals life history allows ... If only one reader counts the GLGs they could be dramatically over or underestimating GLGs if there are multiple irregularities in the bands or if the reader isn t very good at counting them, whether its due to inexperience or they aren t detail oriented or they simply counted late at night. Consequently, the age would be inaccurate. In particularly studies that state that belugas deposit 1 GLG per year; each missed or double counted ring would be altering the age by a full year. Both papers used more than 1 reader, except Bella from Brodie s review, and take variance of counts into consideration using bias plots or CVs. The large difference in the methods used to determine if deposits happened 1 or 2 a year was the actual variability of the teeth themselves. More specifically Stewart s paper used archived wild teeth, while Brodie s review paper mainly touched on studies that used teeth from recently deceased captive animals. As mentioned many times throughout most papers, captive animals tend to have irregular deposit patterns in GLGs once they become captive. Who s then to say that the irregularities are not only in how the deposits form, but also in terms of how long they take to form. While we can only be certain that in captivity the deposits were 2 per year because we have the total amount of years in captivity; the age of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. My First Semester At Byu Idaho I was desperately lost while studying theater during my first semester at Brigham Young University Idaho. It was what I enjoyed during high school, but I want a career where I am able to spend time with my family and one where I d be in a position to improve the lives of others. After taking my first acting class I knew it wasn t what I wanted to do. Since then, I have considered everything from psychology to accounting. Research and volunteer opportunities, advice from trusted mentors, and my education played roles in my decision process. I learned to manage my time wisely in order to spend time with my family. Most importantly, I was able to decide on a career in optometry, and have since planned out what I want to do after optometry school. After my first semester at BYU Idaho, I took a two year break from school to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Africa. I dedicated my time to serve the people surrounding me. Usually the service was simple things: helping wash laundry by hand, preparing meals, cleaning or even building a mud home. I enjoyed every bit of service I was able to offer. My parents taught me the importance of hard work, and my upbringing is the reason I find joy in serving others. This joy has guided me as I have chosen my career path. I have a beautiful wife and a one year old daughter. Being a father has taught me how to manage my time more efficiently. Bassanio tells Antonio Tis unknown to you, Antonio/How much I have disabled mine estate and also states To unburden all my plots and purposes/How to get clear of all the debts I owe. He isn t unfairly criticising him, Bassanio wants to make a good impression on Portia. Bassanio needs to be entitled to a high class status when he reaches Belmont, so that he can woo Portia. This suggests that he wants to make an effort to please her, and he is possibly worthy of her love after all. At this point, Bassanio is aware of the fact that Portia is definitely in love with him. However, he feels guilty when he says Let me choose/For as I am, I live upon the rack. In this extended metaphor of torture, Portia replies Then confess/What treason there is mingled with your love. This metaphor speaks about trust and suggests that Bassanio wants to tell Portia the truth about his financial status, but he s unwilling to because he is afraid of disappointing her. • 11. Current State Of Fuel And World Energy Demand Current State of fuel World Energy Demand Post 18th Century Industrial revolution has created a dependency on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas for all technological and transportation demands that engineer modern society. However. Such demands, and even their expected future demands threatens the overall worlds energy supply and generates large strains on the environment. The Hydrogen economy article published by Physics Today in December 2004 anticipated that the world energy demand will double by 2050 in response to population growth and industrialisation of developing countries. (Crabtree, Dresselhaus and Buchanan, 2004). An article by Todd Woody of The Atlantic (Woody, 2013) has stated that developing countries will account for 65% of the world s energy consumption by 2040. The majority of such consumption being produced by non OCED nations such as India and China. This figure was published by the United States Energy Information Administration. This can be summarised as a 2.2% annual increase in fossil fuel usage in non OCED countries compared to that of 0.5% in OCED communities such as some of the EU, North America and Australia. Figure 1.1 iProjected world energy consumption (Eia.gov, 2013) Further study has shown that due to this increased demand for fossil fuels, the Global Carbon Project showed a 2.1% increase in greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. The idea and message of love reverberates through the story, and because of the perfect writing by Shakespeare, it is often considered one of the greatest pieces of literature in history. Throughout the story, many people mistake true love for lust. It is one of the most commonly made mistakes with teenagers. Many people have mny different opinions and definitions of what true love is and in short, my definition of true love is this. Love is the loyal dedication to another that grows over time. • 13. How Did Plato Argue The Soul In this brief segment of Plato s work he is trying to argue that the soul, rather than being one, actually has different parts. He claims and tries to justify that the soul must have three different parts to it, each responsible for creating different urges that a person has. On page 111 of Plato s Republic he establishes that the same one thing will not experience opposites within the same one part of itself over the same thing, at the same time. So, therefore if someone finds this occurring in the soul it can be established that the soul is not one but instead made out of different parts. He then shows an example of this occurring in the soul in order to argue the soul does indeed have parts. On pages 114 and 115 he says that someone can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The premise of the same thing will not undergo opposites within the same part of itself in regards to the same thing at the exact same time, so therefore when the soul gives you two opposite urges (e.g. thirsty but you don t want to get a drink) it proves that the soul must have different parts, is a premise that I do indeed agree with. I believe what Plato is saying here as I do not think the same part of one s soul can be responsible for making someone have two completely opposite urges. I also agree with the premise that there is a third part to the soul, the spirit. At first I questioned it thinking that this was indeed one in the same with the rational but then the good point is made that small children are clearly full with spirit yet are not rational so therefore they cannot be one in the same. This argument sold me on the third part of the soul. The one argument I couldn t get on board with was when Plato wrote that thirst is just for drink, and not one of a specific kind. I think that personally one can be craving a specific type of drink, regardless of environment, (e.g. orange juice) and their thirst will not be quenched by any drink but by only the drink they are craving. Plato makes it seem that one cannot urge a specific drink but only drink in general. Although I do disagree with that specific part, in the end the overall argument was ... James s Minty Alley Born in Trinidad and later expatriating himself first to London and then the United States, C.L.R. James was a key figure of the West Indian literary scene during the 1930s. Today he is primarily associated with his nonliterary writings in sociology and politics, and his fiction seems to have dropped from critical attention. Part of this shortsightedness stems from the fact that little of his fiction is readily available to a reading public in this country. In part, my desired shift of critical focus is a response against the predominant tendency in Anglo American literary studies of underestimating the formal experimentation of early twentieth century Caribbean writing. Critics tend to construct narratives in which British, American, and continental European writers set the standard for and carry out the work of producing modernist experimentation. Those few critics who have turned their attention to James fiction continue to follow suit of this general critical trend. Paget Henry and Paul Buhle have remarked that this author s value lies in his status as an anti colonial writer, an identity that they believe to be affirmed by Minty Alley because of the careful artistic representation [that it] gives to the lives of working class Trinidadians and its affirmation of the creative self projections that such individuals established in relation to their world (122). James did envision his novel as a populist one, affirming his own mothers s adage that [t]o write forblack people in the Caribbean was a distinction (James interviewedin Henry and Buhle 57). • 16. Compare The First Meeting Of Sir Lancelot And Queen Guinevere Synthesis Essay Queen Guinevere has been presented in innumerable Arthurian tales, all with various accounts of her legacy. Her portrayal in the legends changes with time going from a dreadful sinner and unfaithful wife in Chretien de Troyes Knight of the Cart to someone with feminist ideals in Sallie Bridges The First Meeting of Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere . The reason for such a dramatic change in her character derives out of the increased fight for women s equality from the 12th century to the 19th century. The oppressive nature towards women can be seen in the depiction of Guinevere in Chretien de Troyes Knight of the Cart. This story gives Guinevere an unchristian, unfaithful look. Taking on a sacrilegious light Guinevere disrespects her god by committing adultery, contemplating suicide, and lusting while she prays. Her infamous affair is with the knight Sir Lancelot, the right hand man of her husband King Arthur. In her rebellious nature, she decides to spend one night of excitement with another man rather than filling her expected role of a faithful wife. When Guinevere hears the news of Lancelot death, she contemplates suicide because she couldn t bear life without her lover. Suicide in the 12th century was one of the worst crimes to commit against the church ,therefore it was considered shameful. One of the most egregious sins she commits is coveting Lancelot s body while she is praying, wishing, both of them naked (1987 trans., p. 244) as it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Heidy Sarabia, in her paper titled Perpetual Illegality: Results of Border Enforcement and Policies for Mexican Undocumented Migrants in the United States, argues that heightened border security and legalization restrictions created America s illegal immigration problem in the first place. For example, she states that The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) created mixed status families by only allowing illegal immigrants who had lived in the United States throughout the entirety of 1982 1987 to alter their legal status (Sarabia). She goes on to explain that These mixed status families are one of the most important elements that pull migrants to return to the United States... , and that any attempt to reform immigration that does not address this problem will only serve to create more mixed status families (Sarabia). Additionally, Sarabia explains that illegal immigrants in the United States are settling for longer periods of time than they have in the past for two reasons: First, leaving the United States decreases their opportunities for adjusting their legal status, and second, the intensification of border enforcement has made it more difficult and expensive to return to the United States . So, in order to be with their families, Sarabia argues, and because of the dangers and expense now associated with illegally crossing the border, many undocumented immigrants choose to stay in America as long as they can since obtaining a visa and visiting legally is not an option for many. Sarabia offers an example in the form of Sandra, a Mexican citizen who at the time was trying to enter America to see her sick sister. But according to me incorporation is multifaceted as it not only includes education but also other things such as life skills I learnt while going through the first two phases. Through my initial journey at JGU in the first two phases, I can weave my experience of separation and not knowing and the experience of threshold and bearing witness into learning through their incorporation into each moment. From accommodating to the new place to making friends with new people, adapting to the new education system. Taking part in extracurricular activities in college from theater to dance. • 32. Descriptive Essay On A Dreamy Island Imagine a place of pure bliss, where time is seemingly endless, simplicity is valued and relaxation is a top priority. In our everyday lives where stress is customary and chaos is routine, it is hard to visualize a place of such carefreeness. I too believed there could be no such place until I found it for myself. When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction. During phases of anxiety and trouble, there is one place in particular that my heart longs to be. Marco Island, Florida. My father proposed the idea of vacationing on Marco Island before the summer of 2016 after hearing multiple people rave to him about the breathtaking beaches and unforgettable experiences. My mother and I had never heard of Marco Island, but after five short minutes of browsing through images online of the picturesque island, we were instantly captivated and could not wait to see it for ourselves. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we finally arrived on the dreamy island. Grinning from ear to ear, we buckled ourselves into the rental car, feeling anxious to explore. Unlike in Missouri, glossy green palm trees lined every street, which made us feel like we had entered an alternate universe. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was supposedly only a six minute walk from Marco ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Cystic Fibroblasts Fibroblasts are mesenchymal cells that play an important role in the wound healing process. These cells are responsible for releasing inflammatory agents that recruit white blood cells to areas of damaged tissue. Fibroblasts also respond to these chemicals and differentiate into myofibroblasts. These myofibroblasts are characterized by their up regulated rate of extracellular matrix component production and their ability to physically manipulate the extracellular matrix. When the wound healing process becomes unregulated, this results in what is referred to as a fibrotic response (Kendall). As a result fibrosis, or the thickening and scarring of connective tissues, occurs. Fibrosis is the excess deposition of ECM components like collagen and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first experiment we ran was the α smooth muscle actin (asma) stain. The purpose of this stain was to use a primary and secondary antibody to indirectly stain the microfilaments that characterize myofibroblasts. Under a fluorescent microscope, this will provide a visual representation of how many fibroblasts in our samples had differentiated into myofibroblasts. To set up for this experiment, fibroblasts were plated on coverslips and incubated for seven days, to reach 100% confluency, in either the presence or absence of allopurinol. After one week the coverslips were fixed with methanol and the first antibody, a mouse anti human asma, was applied onto the coverslip and kept refrigerated overnight. The next day the coverslips were rinsed with PBS, all rinses are performed with PBS, and the second antibody, a goat anti mouse rhodamine, was applied to the coverslips for thirty minutes in a dark place. Lastly, after another rinse, a DAPI counterstain, which would interact with the DNA in the nucleus of every fibroblast to make them visible, was applied for fifteen minutes and rinsed. Then the coverslips were mounted onto slides with glycerol and looked at under the fluorescent microscope. The nuclei of all of the cells lit up blue and the microfilaments in the differentiated fibroblasts, myofibroblasts, lit up bright ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Discovery Of Its Effects On The Body B nCreatine was first found in 1832 by a French scientist named Michel Eugene Chevreul. This discovery was found by isolating it from the basified water extract of the skeletal muscle in animals. He named it creatine after he found concentration of it in animal blood and meat. Justus Von Liebug confirmed in the year 1847 that creatine can be found in the flesh of animal. During his research he also found that wild foxes have more creatine in their muscles than their domestic counterparts. Around 1846, the decomposed product of creatine/creatinine was present in urine. In 1923, the first research demonstrated that when animals were to intake oral creatine, the result was an increase in their weight. After they were to stop or slow their creatine intake, their weight increased slowly over the period of time. In 1926, Alfred Chanutin, showed in his study that humans can retain the storage of creatine in their muscles by taking 10 grams of creatine during the period of a week. The weight gained caused by the intake of creatine allowed Chanutin to come to a conclusion that it has an anabolic effect on humans. However, taking creatine from meat is very expensive for researchers so they started trying to produce the synthetic version of creatine. This was successfully done in the laboratory in the 1950 s. The research studies done in 1978 confirmed that creatine guarantees that nitrogen is retained better in the muscles. This in turns helps muscles to recover faster. Within this ...
