There Are Many Beneficial Reasons Behind Eating Meat
There are many beneficial reasons behind eating meat. Some believe that red meat causes cancer and
contributes to heart complications. However, there is plenty of nutritional gain that a persons body can
benefit from by simply adding meat into their weekly diet regimens . Meat contains large amounts of
protein, which the body needs in order to develop and maintain muscle mass. Not only does meat
contain protein, it additionally contains iron, and zinc that a person s body essentially needs to help
improve their overall health.
Sources of meat contain a large amount of protein, which your body needs for numerous reasons.
Every human body is made up of 20% protein including amino acids that are the building blocks of it.
In that 20% in which your body is made up with protein, one of the ways the amino acids are being
used is to produce blood, skin, blood, hormones, and cartilage throughout the body. Consuming
animal meat also helps your muscles stay healthy by simply breaking the protein down into amino
acids, which is then transported throughout the blood stream. Throughout this process, the amino acids
are then delivered to different parts of the body. One of those areas is which to be the muscles that will
then begin to absorb the molecules. Once the molecules are absorbed, the body will then begin to heal
and repair the muscle. The amino acids that your body breaks down from protein found in red meat,
aids in the healing of wounds not only in the muscle as stated

Components of Business Environment
Components of business environment
On the basis of extent of intimacy with the firm, the environmental factors may be classified into
different levels or types. There are broadly two types of environment, the internal environment, i.e.
factors internal to the firm and the external environment i.e. factors external to the firm which have
relevance to it.
The internal factors are generally regarded as controllable factors because the company has control
over these factors; it can alter or modify such factors as its personnel, physical facilities, organisation
and functional means such as marketing mix to suit the environment.
The external factors on the other hand are, by and large, beyond the control of a company. The

The relationship between the members of Board of Directors and between the chief executives is also
a critical factor.
 Human resources: The characteristics of the human resource like skill, quality, morale,
commitment, attitude etc., could contribute to the strength and weaknesses of an organisation. Some
organisations find it difficult to carry out restructuring or modernization because of resistance by
employees whereas they are smoothly done in some others.
 Company image and Brand equity: The image of the company matters while raising finance,
forming joint ventures or the other alliances, soliciting marketing intermediaries, entering purchase or
sale contracts, launching new products etc. Brand equity is also relevant in several of these cases.
 Miscellaneous Factors: There are a number of other internal factors which contribute to the business
success/ failures or influence the decision making. They include the following.
1. Physical Assets and Facilities like the production capacity, technology and efficiency of the
productive apparatus, distribution logistics etc. are among the factors which influence the
competitiveness of a firm.

News, In Many Forms, Describes Events And Relays Information
News, in many forms, describes events and relays information to those who are interested or
uniformed. Television programs, newspapers, online articles are a few forms of media that have
become easily assessable. Mainstream media can also include Facebook, Twitter and other online
social media sources. The main focus of this paper will be on The Akron Beacon Journal, the 10 o
clock Channel 8 news, and online news sources. In all three forms of media, the most popularized
event is the recent shooting of Robert Goodwin Sr. by Steven Stephens. Limited criminal activates
were reported, possibly due to the tragic event of the shooting, but the few that were reported will be
described and examined. The Akron Beacon Journal from April 17th 2017, ... Show more content on

Overall, this news program covered crime, sports, weather, family stories, and international politics.
Like the newspaper, the news program also showed the Facebook killing and the rise in tension
between North Korea and the United States. Unlike the newspaper, the news program reported on a
greater amount criminal stories, community events, and a more in depth look at the weather. The main
stories covered were two men being placed behind bars for burglary and robbery in Painesville, a story
of an eight year old who caused the death of a one year old, and the Facebook Killer at large.
First, the two men who were jailed are located in Lakewood County Jail for their part in a burglary
earlier that day in Painesville. The crime resulted in SWAT being called in after a standoff started
between the brothers and the police occurred. This standoff ended when the SWAT arrived and
captured the armed criminals, few other details were reported on. Next, a brief story covered the death
of a one year old caused by an eight year old. The child was described as a victim of abuse and
neglect, while at a local daycare. Lastly, the new program reported on the Facebook Killer and his
evasion of police in the Cleveland area. This story has dominated the media from newspaper to
television, with newspapers only covering the brief relevant information while the news program went

Dealing With Dragon Quotes
Dealing with Dragons In the novel Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede, the main character
Cimorene is a princess that doesn t pursue the quintessential princess role in the kingdom. Cimorene s
parents did not even respect or value her. Additionally she want to learn new things, but her society
does not allow females to pursue them. Finally, she is being forced to marry a prince whom she does
not respect. For these reasons Cimorene is justified in ignoring the expected social norms of her day.
On the other hand, others feel that Cimorene should put her kingdom first and the welfare of her
people above her own pleasures. However, Cimorene is not allowed to pursue things that could help
her kingdom such as being the excellent ambassador she became in the Mountains of Morning. First,
Cimorene should not be forced to be like her sisters when her parents constantly compare her to them
and ridicule her. On page 2, it says, Her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Considering that Cimorene was a satirical princess, most things weren t fitting for her. For instance,
her parents were insisting she marry a prince she did not know, love, or respect. In the novel on page
7, Cimorene said, I don t want to marry prince Therandil. This confirms that Cimorene was not a
normal princess judging by her actions. Also this shows that she was justified for leaving Linderwall
since that was her only option in getting out of the marriage..She expressed her feelings to her parents,
but princesses then in that era didn t have a say. Later, she was very frustrated about the forced
marriage. On page 9 she exclaimed, I d rather be eaten by a dragon! This shows her desperation to
leave the kingdom. This also shows that she preferred death over a life not worth living. The frog gave
her a way to get out of the marriage and still be happy. This is when Cimorene left to live with

Irregular Warfare Strategy for Somalia
Introduction
The use of Irregular Warfare has been ongoing for years around the world. Irregular warfare is
described as a violent struggle among state and non state actors for legitimacy and influence over the
relevant populations. I will discuss where the U.S. may apply military force in conjunction with other
means of national power to stabilize the nation of Somalia. I will also discuss why it would be
considered as an Irregular Warfare environment.
Body
Somalia gained its independence from British control in 1960, where the British relinquished control
and gave Somalia to the United Nations. Somalia was governed by civilians until 1969; after which
the military rebellion by General Muhammed Siad Barre took place. General Muhammed ... Show

They also took on the responsibility of law enforcement which was paid for by local businesses to
lower and maintain the crime rate within the area. The Islamic Courts Union took on the responsibility
of halting robberies and drug dealing, as well as stopping the showing of what it claims to be
pornographic films in local movie houses. The Islamic Courts Union also addressed problems
throughout the region by establishing community services and security which in turn help them to gain
the trust of the local residents.
Local warlords became concerned over the growing power of the Islamic Courts Union. The Warlords
decided to join together to create the Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counter Terrorism
(ARPCT. The Islamic Courts Union lost their power over Mogadishu in 2006, when they were
defeated and forced to Kismayo, which is in the southern part of the country.
Conflicts within the nation of Somalia were sometimes planned as a means to an end. Whereby the
United States Government supported a certain regime before they used their power to gain control of
the situation and overthrow the tyrant. In other cases the use of national power was used such as the
Islamic Courts Union to gain control over Somalia by implementing logical line of operations by
providing the people their needs and services to gain their trust. In these situations it would be
considered as an irregular warfare environment, because they were violent struggles

Clara Barton s Impact On American History
Clara Barton
Clara Barton lived in a time when women were seemingly inferior, at a time when the roles she took
on were unusual for her gender. Clara Barton lived and thrived in the midst of the American Civil War.
Looked upon as one of the most honored women in American history, Barton impacted our country
most significantly by establishing the American Red Cross, an organization that today provides
disaster relief and other forms of medical assistance. For twenty three years, Barton led the
organization that she had founded in 1881 at the age of sixty. The foundation of the Red Cross was
inspired by her previous experiences. At a young age, Barton was a school teacher, despite the fact
that the occupation was usually taken on by men took part in the federal government at the U.S. Patent
office as a recording clerk in fact, one of the first women to ever do such a thing and gave her extra

Her active role in both the Civil War and the Franco Prussian War and establishment of the Red Cross
nearly redefined what it meant to be a volunteer, paving way to a new field of service. She was seen as
a sense of hope on the battlefield, for no matter what time of day it was, she was there determined to
make a difference, comfort soldiers, and provide her services. Unlike many others of her time, Barton
was recorded as somebody who understood human needs, who was compassionate and sympathetic to
people s pain and desires. She was also known for her efforts in establishing a national cemetery in
honor of the Union soldiers who died in the Andsersonville Prison. Though Barton herself died in
April of 1912, her contribution to the United States is still present today, as the American Red Cross
works everyday to provide people with assistance, no matter what gender, age,

The Right Of Free Speech And Freedom Of Press
The right many Americans take for granted every day is the ability to speak to one another and to
express their opinions through verbal and non verbal means of communication. The First Amendment
provides the right of free speech and freedom of press to the people. The Bill of Rights, also known as
the first 10 amendments to the Constitution went into effect on Dec. 15, 1791, when the state of
Virginia ratified it, giving the bill the majority of ratifying states required to protect citizens from the
power of the federal government. One must ask, why would such a right need to be thought about for
so long before enacting it for the people? Why has this never been considered to be a universal right
that every man and woman should have across the world? Historically, in the development of Western
Civilization and prior to the colonization of the Eastern states by the British Monarchy, the British
colonies were not even states yet, let alone united. Neighboring countries Canada and Mexico were
variously governed by the French Canadians, where the French influence can be felt to this day, in
places from Quebec to Montreal, by the Spaniards in California, and the British in what is now British
Columbia. Parts of California and Texas were also under Spanish and Mexican occupation. What
England, France, and Spain had in common were monarchies as governments, with the King or Queen
conflated with the Church as ordained by God. The common people were peasants in a feudal

The Integration Of Emotional Intelligence Into Healthcare
The Integration of Emotional Intelligence into Healthcare Throughout today s healthcare industry,
many organizations have been constantly striving to stay ahead of the competition. One area of focus
has been improvement of the organization s leaders. In order to create a strong organizational culture
and successful healthcare system, effective leadership is needed. It is thought that one major
characteristic that aids in the effectiveness of many leaders is the ability to utilize their emotional
intelligence. This paper will discuss the development and background of emotional intelligence, its
importance and function within the nursing industry, the integration into one s own practice, as well as
the role it has played in regards to personal growth.
Development and Background The theory of emotional intelligence was first introduced in 1990 by
John Mayer and Peter Salovey. They developed various ways to measure emotional intelligence
abilities, if it improved with age, and if emotional intelligence abilities formed a unified intelligence
(Mayer, 2009). Mayer and Salovey found that if all criteria were met, than it was said to be a true
intelligence. As described by Mayer (2009), emotional intelligence can be defined as one s capability
to reason about emotions and emotional information, and of emotions to enhance thought. Those with
high emotional intelligence can accurately perceive emotions in other s faces. They also know how to
use specific emotional times within

Angelina E. Grimke And Sojourner Truth
The pair that I have chosen is Angelina E. Grimké and Sojourner Truth. These two women are strong
for standing up for what they believe in. Even though they came from different backgrounds of life,
they fought for the same equal rights and freedom.
There are several similarities and differences between Grimké and Truth. Starting from the younger
years, Agelina E. Grimké, a white woman, was born and raised in a family that owned slaves in
Charleston, South Carolina. Opposite of her, Sojourner Truth, a black woman, was born a slave in
Ulster County, which is in Upstate New York. While both women are different ends of the spectrum,
they wanted the same for every person, this included, equal rights and freedom for every man, woman,
and slave. It is said that Grimké s work in antislavery helped her advocate women s rights as well. The
investigation of the rights of the slave has led me to a better understanding of my own (Grimké 771).
Truth, had a visionary experience that left her convinced God wanted her to speak the truth about the
evils of Americans sins against blacks and women (Truth 775). Both women have given speeches to
audiences of both men and women about antislavery and women s rights.
Grimké had seven main arguments that she wanted to convince other women that slavery was wrong
and that slavery needed to be gone. First, that slavery is contrary to the declaration of our
independence. Second, that it is contrary to the first charter of human rights given to

Analysis Of Ferment By Roxy Paine
When you are trying to describe or represent an abstract idea, it is hard to explain it through the
written word and language. While words are more concrete, the left half of the brain, which processes
language, doesn t develop as early as our right, the center for sensory information. At our core we
understand visual form over language, so a visual depiction of something that is enigmatic and
abstract, such as Ferment by Roxy Paine, will be more easily understood, rather than if the concept
was merely explained to us. When I first saw the sculpture, it looked like a big metal tree. While
impressive in scale and detail, it seemed basic at face value. However, when I looked more at the
piece, I noticed how some parts bulge out and become bloated, and even some strands loop back
around and connect to lower parts. There is something more to Ferment than just forming the structure
of a tree. I saw how the structure with its large trunk, branches out into these tiny intricacies that
create a complex and chaotic sculpture. I take Ferment by Roxy Paine to represent the hypothetical
concepts of our universe, how our existence splits off into realities and creates infinite possibilities,
and how we aren t sure how life will twist and turn, but will end up being slowly turned to chaos and
entropy.
To understand the heady topic of this paper, I have to simplify some very speculative scientific topics,
especially the idea of the multiverse. The multiverse is a concept that has become

Critical Review On Critical Investigation And Education Essay
Thanks, Brittany Reading Guide ED4391 Fall 2016 Critical reading activity Reason in the balance,
(pages 4 15). I would like to hand this one in for marks. Thanks, Brittany Pre reading activity: Before
you read these pages, consider the following questions and jot down a few thoughts on each: 1. What
do you think critical inquiry is? What is your working definition of critical inquiry? What might be the
relationship between critical inquiry and education? I think critical inquiry is looking deeper into a
specific issue, so that you can form an opinion based on facts and evidence portraying to the issue.
Critical inquiry is the process of gathering information, evidence, and ideas to form a thoughtful, well
constructed understanding of a specific issue. Critical inquiry has a direct link to education. This type
of approach can be specifically seen in classrooms and schools that use an inquiry based approach.
Although I believe, all teachers should give students the opportunity to use critical inquiry within the
classroom. This approach can be used when working through problems and research. Instead of giving
students the right answer you can allow them to explore the issue or topic on their own. I think critical
inquiry is a beneficial skill that students can obtain in the classroom, one which allows them to make
reasoned judgments though out their life. 2. Do you think such a relationship is a happy or an unhappy
one? Is it a love/hate kind of

Me only have one ambition, y know. I only have one thing I really like to see happen. I like to see

goal was to bring people together through his music, and influence everyone he could to become a
better person. Throughout Bob Marley s music career, he didn t know what kind of artist he wanted to
be until later in life, and once he knew what kind of artist he wanted to be, he reached out to people
and made many people enjoy reggae music and really understand the message in his music, which was
not to hate or discriminate because we are all equal.

The Ritz Carlton Specializing in Customers is exactly what is. This is what the Ritz is all about and
they have the awards to prove it. Since technology has taken over the world within the last decade,
businesses have heavily relied on the technology to help support their everyday processes, and our
personal lives has came accustomed to it, also. The Ritz Carlton utilizes technology, but they are
refusing to follow suit of other hotel chains. A lot of other hotel chains are switching or experimenting

Customer service starts within the organizations, so as I mentioned before, getting the right people in
place serves the utmost importance for the organization. Once you have the right people in place you
will be able to put their talents in customer service to work.
4) The Ritz can extend its customer reach through the internet simply by having a good social
network. This can range anywhere from Facebook, Myspace, to Twitter. Communication of discounts,
rewards, and other things can be communicated through this media. They do have accounts set up
through Facebook, but I do not see anything on their main website notating that their customers can
join their page. This could easily satisfy their most loyal customers and help continue their relations
even when they are not residing at the hotel. Another way that The Ritz Carlton can utilize the internet
is to build a community with their guests online. This could be a blog on their website amongst their
customer s. Most people are curious about what others think. So, seeing positive posts from others will
assist in increasing their customer base. Also, I feel that having information available on the spot can
be huge for The Ritz Carlton. A lot of websites have request information links, but hardly any of them
have it automated to where you can choose what you want to know and receive it instantly. Instead of
waiting for the detailed information to come in the mail, it would serve as an advantage

Drude Dahlerup As A Critical Mass Theory
Critical mass theory
Drude Dahlerup first conceptualised critical mass in a feminist theory context in her 1988 article,
From a Small to a Large Minority: Women in Scandinavian Politics. A critical mass, applied to women
in politics, is a threshold that allows for women s issues to influence legislative and public policy
changes once passed (Beckwith, 2007). In critical mass theory, once a minority group (in this case
women) reaches a given quantity of descriptive representation, qualitative change occurs affecting
norms, values and institutions. Kanter (1977) developed a four category typology to assess group
dynamics in organisational culture, which Dahlerup builds on: uniform, all one gender group; skewed,
with an 85:15 split; tilted, a 65:35 split; and balanced, a 60:40 or 50:50 split. According to Beckwith,
skewed is the most common ratio in business leadership and legislatures. Dahlerup posited 30 percent
as the critical mass in which substantive representation occurs, supported by academic consensus and
a 1992 United Nations report (Kurebwa, 2017).
These assertions about critical mass tend to align with New Zealand s substantive representation
discussed earlier in this essay. Since the introduction of MMP in 1996, women have held above 30
percent of parliamentary seats (excluding 2002, with 28 percent) (NZ Parliament, 2014). In this time,
significant reform for women s issues occurred, including the previously mentioned paid parental

Comparing The Black Cat, Fall Of The House Of Usher, And...
The dead. We all fear the thought of them and don t know what happens once they re gone. Everyone
knows the stories of the spirits of the dead coming back to haunt the living, but those stories are
nothing compared to the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Stories like Ligeia, The Black Cat, The Fall of the
House of Usher, and The Raven all are chilling and thrilling stories evolved stories of any other horror
or gothic story. In these works, the dead have a profound power of the sanity of the living. As a Poe
analyst, Tony magistrale explained, the characters of the dead and mad narrator force the reader to

The narrator even swears that [he] distinctly saw a tremor upon the lips (Poe Ligeia 6). The spirit of
Ligeia haunts Rowena, his newlywed, and eventually kills her. At first, all that Ligeia s spirit is is A
shadow, a faint, indefinite shadow of angelic aspect (Poe, Ligeia 6). Then, she evolves, and creates
sounds and movements only seen by Rowena, which eventually cause her to awaken from an unquiet
slumber... and spoke in an earnest and low whisper, of sounds she then heard, but which I could not
hear of motions which she then saw, but which I could not perceive (Poe, Ligeia 6). Rowena was
definitely being haunted by the jealous and malicious spirit of Ligeia, but thought of it just as sounds
or motions. What she did not know was that the ghost of Ligeia would come to be her demise. The
narrator got his wife some wine to drink to calm her, and Ligeia I saw fall within the goblet... three or
four large drops of a brilliant and ruby colored fluid (Poe Ligeia 6) into her goblet. This, of course,

Ligeia is taking over the body of Rowena, his dead second wife. When the dead Rowena

Budget Cuts And Its Effects On Society
Imagine world that is bland, along with its individuals all the selfsame. In result of the reprehension of
creative courses in academia. That previously mentioned world would soon become an actuality.
When budget cuts were accruing in my school district; I remembered my fine arts teachers were
petrified that not only their department would cease to exist but they would no longer have an
occupation. There is a constant reminder of how paramount the sciences and mathematics are; but the
fine arts such as music, ceramics, art, and all the other courses that allow creative freedom are
important as well.
As in consequence of our troubling economy, budget cuts were inevitable. In the year 2008, more than
eighty percent of schools nationwide had received budget cuts. Music and theater classes were cut to
the full extent along with some art programs. Within the late 90s and early 2000s schools had theatre
and dance classes available, ranging in the twenty percentile. Currently, that percent has dropped
drastically to two percent. These are just brief statistics on the outcome of budget cuts and how
quickly the outcome is the demise of the fine arts in schools nationwide.
A student who does not enjoy the fundamental classes might not find interest in going to school. The
innovated minds that find tranquility in a music class or rather a basic art class is more likely to look
forward to attending school the next day. Fine arts enhance the mind. It enhances what is already there

IDEA Individuals With Disabilities Education Act Essay
In 1991 the Public Law 94 142, the Education for All Handicapped Children Act was replaced by the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. This law was passed to provide free and appropriate
public education to every child with a disability. It requires that each child with a disability have
access to the program best suited to that child s special needs which is as close as possible to a normal
child s educational program (Martin, 1978). The Individualized education program (IEP) was
developed to help provide a written record of students needs and procedures for each child that
receives special education services. The IEP will list all the services to be provided, the student s

Until that time, many states had laws that excluded children with certain types of disabilities from
attending public school. These included children who were blind, deaf and children labeled
emotionally disturbed or mentally retarded. Many of these children lived at state institutions where
they received limited or no educational services. Having a disability does not automatically qualify a
student for special education services under the IDEA. The disability must result in the student
needing additional or different services to participate in school. For example, a child who is diagnosed
autistic. Children with disabilities who qualify for special education are also automatically protected
by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and under the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA). Research shows that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997
shifted the focus of IDEA to improve teaching and learning by emphasizing the individual educational
plan as a primary tool for educational planning. This increased the role of parents in educational
decision making. Part B of this law provided resources and services for children ages 3 through 5 with
developmental delays or those with an identified disability. Part C of IDEA authorizes financial
assistance to support the needs of infants and toddlers with disabilities and the needs of their families.

Similarities And Differences Between Ancient Rome And America
Slavery began in some of the earliest civilizations and continued to be around for over a thousand of
years after that time. During this time, people of various races were forced to work for those above
them and were treated almost as less than human. Two areas where slavery is best displayed is in
Ancient Rome and in America prior to the Civil War. When comparing and contrasting slavery in
these two places, one can see similarities and differences in how the slaves were acquired, treated,
freed, and the type of labor they had to undertake. Even though these two societies were over a
thousand years apart from each other, Ancient Rome and America can be compared to see the changes
that occurred in slavery during this time and the ideas that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the 1600s, a small number of African American slaves worked on plantations because, until the
end of this time, it cost the slave owners less to buy white servants than slaves. However, this changed
by the end of the 17th century as the African American slaves became set apart as a different group
than the white servants and cost a substantial amount less than that of a white servant slavery ( The
Roots of Racism ). At this point slavery was, like in Ancient Rome, based off of economic reasons and
did not involve any racial discriminations. This idea of slavery changed over time as rebellions broke
out. These rebellions, such as the Bacon s Rebellion, brought on full scale racial slavery ( The Roots
of Racism ). This began the process of African Americans being thought of as subhuman and
strengthened the idea of white supremacy. This showed a major development between the two
societies as the Romans developed slavery to have their work done for them, but this idea gradually
changed into an almost entirely racial act, as shown in America. Slavery in America did benefit those
who owned slaves, but unlike in Ancient Rome, the slaves were based off certain races and was used
to almost punish those who were

Hitler s Willing Executioners by Daniel Goldhagen
Not many historical works have achieved more success and have generated more heated debate than
Daniel Goldhagen s book Hitler s Willing Executioners. Goldhagen s thesis relies on the idea that
since medieval times, a specific kind of eliminationist anti Semitism had developed in Germany.
According to Goldhagen, the German population was already open to the idea of eliminating the Jews.
He also claims that when Hitler came to Power in 1933, rather than slowly convincing the Germans to
commit mass murder, he merely gave them the opportunity to do what they have wanted to do for
years. Goldhagen also inflated the number of people involved, suggesting that hundreds of thousands
were participating in the killing and that millions more would have willingly joined in, given the
opportunity. Despite the rejection of the book by many German and non German historians, the
German version of the book, published in August 1996, sold very well. Eighty thousand copies of the
German edition sold in the first month of the book s release. By the time of Goldhagen s tour in
September, three thousand copies were being sold every single day. Facts like these show how
important communication is with the public. Hitler s Willing Executioners was successful in Germany
because of the accessibility of the book to the German population, the social context in which the
book was produced, and the powerful marketing campaign that preceded the book itself.

The Characteristics Of Kona Coffee
Kona coffee As unique as it gets
What is Kona and what makes it so unique?
It s a coffee that s grown in the North and South Kona districts of Hawaii. The Kona districts in
Hawaii is a two mile long stretch of land which contains over 600 coffee farms; and this district is
often referred to as the Kona coffee belt
Here are the reasons that make Kona coffee the most unique coffee region on the planet.
The number one reason is the low altitude. Usually coffee is grown at 5000+ feet and the Kona coffee
grows in places that range from 800 ft. to 2300 ft.
One of the reasons that this happens is because clouds settle over the crops in the afternoon and thus
provide a natural shade for the coffee protecting it from the hot sun in Hawaii.
Reason number two is the steep volcanic slopes which create ideal drainage system for the rain and all
of this delivers conditions that resemble much higher elevations in other parts of the world. ... Show

Determining Abnormal Behavior
For this assignment, I am going to identify and analyze hypothetical and everyday challenges in
defining what is abnormal. I will also identify and evaluate the consequences of classifying a behavior
or individual as abnormal. Lastly, I will organize ideas in a logical structure and support my
statements with reasons and research information.
Determining abnormal behavior or a mental disorder are difficult for many reasons, one being that
every culture has certain morals for suitable conduct, or socially tolerable customs. Customs are
anticipated ways of conducting yourself in a society according to the mainstream; however, those
members of a society who do not think and act like everyone else break these standards, so they are
often defined as abnormal. In addition, the way a person thinks or the way a person conducts
themselves is classified as abnormal if it interrupts the unprinted rules about what is anticipated or
tolerable conduct in a certain social groups. An individual s actions may not be understood to others or
could possibly make others feel threatened or uncomfortable (McLeod, 2014). Another reason why

Introduction: As I near the 1st anniversary of my career at Woodruff Corporation, I find myself

Hippocampus Amnesia Effects
Abstract
This paper explores two published journals that report on results from research conducted on human
brain. The first journal, Parkin, Alan J (Parkin,1996) suggests that brain damaged patients such as
amnesia are related to the hippocampus and also existing memories. The second journal from Deborah
E. Hannula (Hannula, Tranel, Cohen, 2006) suggests that hippocampal amnesia results in both short
term and long term memory. Together, these findings suggest that hippocampal damage can affect the
memory.

Essay on The Allegory of the Cave
In Plato s Republic, the great philosopher describes what is needed to achieve a perfect society. He
addresses several subjects still debated in today s society, such as justice, gender roles, and the proper
form of education. He discusses these issues through his main character, Socrates. Socrates, another
well known philosopher for his time, happens upon a group of men, and what begins as a modest
question, leads into a series of debates, metaphors, and allegories. Perhaps the most discussed allegory
in today s popular culture is the Allegory of the Cave. Over the past decade, several movies have
mimicked the fantasy, the most profitable being the Matrix Trilogy. But what makes this story so
fascinating? Through it, Plato attempts to map ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since these are the only beings they are aware of, the sounds made by the people are also assumed to
come from the shadows. Socrates summarizes their belief system stating, such men would hold that
the truth is nothing other than the shadows of artificial things, (Book VII, 515c).
After describing the setting of the cave, Socrates asks his audience to imagine that one of the prisoners
breaks free from his bonds, and sees the fire and the statues themselves. He notes that there would first
come pain as his eyes adjust to the new light, and disbelief, as everything he had previously thought to
be real is suddenly proven artificial. However, Socrates assures his audience that the man would
eventually come to realize that the people and the fire are more real than the shadows had ever been.
He would ultimately grasp how the fire creates the shadows of the statues, creating a mere copy of the
real thing. He would then conclude that the fire and the statues are the most real things in the world.
Though the man would then seem to be educated, Socrates takes the fantasy farther by dragging the
freed prisoner out of the cave and into the actual world. At first, the man s eyes would dart from the
brightness of the sun, and watch only shadows. Eventually, his eyes would allow him to look at
reflections and finally at the actual objects themselves. He then realizes that the trees, flowers, houses,
rocks, and animals he

Clara Barton lived and thrived in the midst of the American Civil War. For twenty three years, Barton led the organization that she had founded in 1881 at the age of sixty. The foundation of the Red Cross was inspired by her previous experiences. • 11. The Right Of Free Speech And Freedom Of Press The right many Americans take for granted every day is the ability to speak to one another and to express their opinions through verbal and non verbal means of communication. The First Amendment provides the right of free speech and freedom of press to the people. The Bill of Rights, also known as the first 10 amendments to the Constitution went into effect on Dec. 15, 1791, when the state of Virginia ratified it, giving the bill the majority of ratifying states required to protect citizens from the power of the federal government. One must ask, why would such a right need to be thought about for so long before enacting it for the people? Why has this never been considered to be a universal right that every man and woman should have across the world? Historically, in the development of Western Civilization and prior to the colonization of the Eastern states by the British Monarchy, the British colonies were not even states yet, let alone united. Neighboring countries Canada and Mexico were variously governed by the French Canadians, where the French influence can be felt to this day, in places from Quebec to Montreal, by the Spaniards in California, and the British in what is now British Columbia. Parts of California and Texas were also under Spanish and Mexican occupation. What England, France, and Spain had in common were monarchies as governments, with the King or Queen conflated with the Church as ordained by God. The common people were peasants in a feudal ... Even though they came from different backgrounds of life, they fought for the same equal rights and freedom. There are several similarities and differences between Grimké and Truth. Starting from the younger years, Agelina E. Grimké, a white woman, was born and raised in a family that owned slaves in Charleston, South Carolina. Opposite of her, Sojourner Truth, a black woman, was born a slave in Ulster County, which is in Upstate New York. While both women are different ends of the spectrum, they wanted the same for every person, this included, equal rights and freedom for every man, woman, and slave. It is said that Grimké s work in antislavery helped her advocate women s rights as well. The investigation of the rights of the slave has led me to a better understanding of my own (Grimké 771). Truth, had a visionary experience that left her convinced God wanted her to speak the truth about the evils of Americans sins against blacks and women (Truth 775). Both women have given speeches to audiences of both men and women about antislavery and women s rights. • 15. Analysis Of Ferment By Roxy Paine When you are trying to describe or represent an abstract idea, it is hard to explain it through the written word and language. While words are more concrete, the left half of the brain, which processes language, doesn t develop as early as our right, the center for sensory information. At our core we understand visual form over language, so a visual depiction of something that is enigmatic and abstract, such as Ferment by Roxy Paine, will be more easily understood, rather than if the concept was merely explained to us. When I first saw the sculpture, it looked like a big metal tree. While impressive in scale and detail, it seemed basic at face value. However, when I looked more at the piece, I noticed how some parts bulge out and become bloated, and even some strands loop back around and connect to lower parts. There is something more to Ferment than just forming the structure of a tree. I saw how the structure with its large trunk, branches out into these tiny intricacies that create a complex and chaotic sculpture. I take Ferment by Roxy Paine to represent the hypothetical concepts of our universe, how our existence splits off into realities and creates infinite possibilities, and how we aren t sure how life will twist and turn, but will end up being slowly turned to chaos and entropy. To understand the heady topic of this paper, I have to simplify some very speculative scientific topics, especially the idea of the multiverse. The multiverse is a concept that has become ... I would like to hand this one in for marks. Thanks, Brittany Pre reading activity: Before you read these pages, consider the following questions and jot down a few thoughts on each: 1. What do you think critical inquiry is? What is your working definition of critical inquiry? What might be the relationship between critical inquiry and education? I think critical inquiry is looking deeper into a specific issue, so that you can form an opinion based on facts and evidence portraying to the issue. Critical inquiry is the process of gathering information, evidence, and ideas to form a thoughtful, well constructed understanding of a specific issue. Critical inquiry has a direct link to education. This type of approach can be specifically seen in classrooms and schools that use an inquiry based approach. Although I believe, all teachers should give students the opportunity to use critical inquiry within the classroom. This approach can be used when working through problems and research. Instead of giving students the right answer you can allow them to explore the issue or topic on their own. I think critical inquiry is a beneficial skill that students can obtain in the classroom, one which allows them to make reasoned judgments though out their life. 2. Do you think such a relationship is a happy or an unhappy one? Is it a love/hate kind of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Drude Dahlerup As A Critical Mass Theory Critical mass theory Drude Dahlerup first conceptualised critical mass in a feminist theory context in her 1988 article, From a Small to a Large Minority: Women in Scandinavian Politics. A critical mass, applied to women in politics, is a threshold that allows for women s issues to influence legislative and public policy changes once passed (Beckwith, 2007). In critical mass theory, once a minority group (in this case women) reaches a given quantity of descriptive representation, qualitative change occurs affecting norms, values and institutions. Kanter (1977) developed a four category typology to assess group dynamics in organisational culture, which Dahlerup builds on: uniform, all one gender group; skewed, with an 85:15 split; tilted, a 65:35 split; and balanced, a 60:40 or 50:50 split. According to Beckwith, skewed is the most common ratio in business leadership and legislatures. Dahlerup posited 30 percent as the critical mass in which substantive representation occurs, supported by academic consensus and a 1992 United Nations report (Kurebwa, 2017). These assertions about critical mass tend to align with New Zealand s substantive representation discussed earlier in this essay. Since the introduction of MMP in 1996, women have held above 30 percent of parliamentary seats (excluding 2002, with 28 percent) (NZ Parliament, 2014). It requires that each child with a disability have access to the program best suited to that child s special needs which is as close as possible to a normal child s educational program (Martin, 1978). These included children who were blind, deaf and children labeled emotionally disturbed or mentally retarded. Many of these children lived at state institutions where they received limited or no educational services. Having a disability does not automatically qualify a student for special education services under the IDEA. The disability must result in the student needing additional or different services to participate in school. For example, a child who is diagnosed autistic. Children with disabilities who qualify for special education are also automatically protected by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Research shows that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997 shifted the focus of IDEA to improve teaching and learning by emphasizing the individual educational plan as a primary tool for educational planning. This increased the role of parents in educational decision making. Part B of this law provided resources and services for children ages 3 through 5 with developmental delays or those with an identified disability. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the 1600s, a small number of African American slaves worked on plantations because, until the end of this time, it cost the slave owners less to buy white servants than slaves. However, this changed by the end of the 17th century as the African American slaves became set apart as a different group than the white servants and cost a substantial amount less than that of a white servant slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). At this point slavery was, like in Ancient Rome, based off of economic reasons and did not involve any racial discriminations. This idea of slavery changed over time as rebellions broke out. These rebellions, such as the Bacon s Rebellion, brought on full scale racial slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). This began the process of African Americans being thought of as subhuman and strengthened the idea of white supremacy. This showed a major development between the two societies as the Romans developed slavery to have their work done for them, but this idea gradually changed into an almost entirely racial act, as shown in America. Hitler s Willing Executioners by Daniel Goldhagen Not many historical works have achieved more success and have generated more heated debate than Daniel Goldhagen s book Hitler s Willing Executioners. Goldhagen s thesis relies on the idea that since medieval times, a specific kind of eliminationist anti Semitism had developed in Germany. According to Goldhagen, the German population was already open to the idea of eliminating the Jews. He also claims that when Hitler came to Power in 1933, rather than slowly convincing the Germans to commit mass murder, he merely gave them the opportunity to do what they have wanted to do for years. Goldhagen also inflated the number of people involved, suggesting that hundreds of thousands were participating in the killing and that millions more would have willingly joined in, given the opportunity. Despite the rejection of the book by many German and non German historians, the German version of the book, published in August 1996, sold very well. Eighty thousand copies of the German edition sold in the first month of the book s release. By the time of Goldhagen s tour in September, three thousand copies were being sold every single day. Facts like these show how important communication is with the public. One of the reasons that this happens is because clouds settle over the crops in the afternoon and thus provide a natural shade for the coffee protecting it from the hot sun in Hawaii. I will also identify and evaluate the consequences of classifying a behavior or individual as abnormal. Lastly, I will organize ideas in a logical structure and support my statements with reasons and research information. Determining abnormal behavior or a mental disorder are difficult for many reasons, one being that every culture has certain morals for suitable conduct, or socially tolerable customs. Customs are anticipated ways of conducting yourself in a society according to the mainstream; however, those members of a society who do not think and act like everyone else break these standards, so they are often defined as abnormal. In addition, the way a person thinks or the way a person conducts themselves is classified as abnormal if it interrupts the unprinted rules about what is anticipated or tolerable conduct in a certain social groups. • 35. My Experience At Woodruff Corporation Introduction: As I near the 1st anniversary of my career at Woodruff Corporation, I find myself reflecting on my experiences and accomplishments throughout this first year. What impact have I had in the company? What have I learned and how have I developed my skills? Will it endure and lead to better, more efficient, and profitable business practices? Prior to working at this company, I had never before worked in manufacturing, much less the containers, packages, and materials handling industry. I had not yet professionally designed for the manufacturing either. Woodruff was giving me an amazing opportunity to apply my education, learn real world applications, and I was earnest to prove myself. During my final interview, noting my excitement, my boss to be made me aware that he is in the midst of projects to improve the business, that the prevailing company culture is resistant to change, and that it has been an uphill battle trying to sway the company culture towards continuous improvement. He believes I have that mindset and wants me to promote it throughout the business. I learned then, and reaffirmed over my time there that it must be done with both patience and persistence. After hiring me, he asked me to a meeting in his office. The company currently had few materials for the purpose of training designers new to the industry. He also asked that as I learn the ins and outs of designing for the industry that I document what I have learned for the purpose of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first journal, Parkin, Alan J (Parkin,1996) suggests that brain damaged patients such as amnesia are related to the hippocampus and also existing memories. The second journal from Deborah E. Hannula (Hannula, Tranel, Cohen, 2006) suggests that hippocampal amnesia results in both short term and long term memory. Together, these findings suggest that hippocampal damage can affect the memory. • 38. Essay on The Allegory of the Cave In Plato s Republic, the great philosopher describes what is needed to achieve a perfect society. He addresses several subjects still debated in today s society, such as justice, gender roles, and the proper form of education. He discusses these issues through his main character, Socrates. Socrates, another well known philosopher for his time, happens upon a group of men, and what begins as a modest question, leads into a series of debates, metaphors, and allegories. Perhaps the most discussed allegory in today s popular culture is the Allegory of the Cave. Over the past decade, several movies have mimicked the fantasy, the most profitable being the Matrix Trilogy. But what makes this story so fascinating? Through it, Plato attempts to map ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since these are the only beings they are aware of, the sounds made by the people are also assumed to come from the shadows. Socrates summarizes their belief system stating, such men would hold that the truth is nothing other than the shadows of artificial things, (Book VII, 515c). After describing the setting of the cave, Socrates asks his audience to imagine that one of the prisoners breaks free from his bonds, and sees the fire and the statues themselves. He notes that there would first come pain as his eyes adjust to the new light, and disbelief, as everything he had previously thought to be real is suddenly proven artificial. However, Socrates assures his audience that the man would eventually come to realize that the people and the fire are more real than the shadows had ever been. He would ultimately grasp how the fire creates the shadows of the statues, creating a mere copy of the real thing. He would then conclude that the fire and the statues are the most real things in the world. Though the man would then seem to be educated, Socrates takes the fantasy farther by dragging the freed prisoner out of the cave and into the actual world. At first, the man s eyes would dart from the brightness of the sun, and watch only shadows. Eventually, his eyes would allow him to look at reflections and finally at the actual objects themselves. He then realizes that the trees, flowers, houses, rocks, and animals he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout Great Britain, many children in the working class were not receiving an education either because there was no school where they lived, or they simply could not afford it. In response to this, in 1870 William Forster got Parliament to pass the 1870 Elementary Education Act.
