Cornell Argument Essay
Attending the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University has always been a goal
for me in pursuing my target of becoming a nutritional scientist. I grew up in traditional Chinese
education, the first poem I learned is called Commiseration for the Peasants written by Shen Li. This
poem conveys the idea that foods don t come easily, people should respect the work of farmers. This
really connects to me because both my grandparents and my aunts are farmers. I had once experienced
their job when I was a third grader in elementary school. This experience let me set my mind of
studying agriculture.
It s a hot afternoon, the temperature outside is over 100 degree Fahrenheit. The sun shines
everywhere, I can barely step outside of my house. I thought I would be burned to death if I stay out
for one than a minute. However, my aunt sets a good example for me. She grabs her hat and walked
out of the house without saying anything. Her action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be honest, the first thing I know about Cornell University is the excellent food they have. However,
I had done many research about Cornell University. Therefore, I believe Cornell s College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences will provide the strongest academic support I need to achieve my goals.
Moreover, the Health and Nutrition Society allows me to have the opportunities to gain more
experience and train my ability to cooperative with different types of people. Strong academic bases,
ample opportunities, and unlimited possibilities are very essential parts in achieving my goal. Cornell
University has the highest levels of proficiency that has no doubt will establish my knowledge with a
solid root. Enough opportunities offer me a great platform I need to pursue my dream. Endless
possibilities provide me the chance to challenge myself. Life is all about challenging and
improvements, I will discover my values at Cornell University. I love Cornell

Conflicts In Star Wars
In the movie series Star Wars throughout every movie of the original trilogies Luke Skywalker (part of
the Jedi s) and Darth Vader (part of the empire) have a continuing conflict. To give a little background
I will explain the previous movies. Basically the Empire, who is part of the Dark Side, wants to rule
the galaxy so they want to destroy all the rebels. The rebels are against the Empire and are trying to
take them down throughout these movies. The ruler of the Empire, the Emperor, has Darth Vader as
his sort of side kick . Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia along with other rebels try and help take the
emperor and Darth Vader down in order to save the galaxy. Luke also found out that Darth Vader is his
father and once was a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Emperor and Darth Vader are trying to convince Luke to turn to the dark side. Luke is a strong
Jedi and refuses to turn to the dark side and this causes both of them to become angry. Darth Vader
and Luke being to fight while the Emperor is telling Vader to destroy Luke. Luke tries to talk Vader
down and remind him of the good he used to do and believes he still has some good in him. He doesn t
want to fight Vader because he believes there is still good in him and he doesn t want to have hate in
his heart. Luke knows that Vader has a conflict inside him and that is what has prevented Vader from
killing him before. This angers Vader because he believes that the dark side is powerful and thinks
Luke is underestimating him. Vader still continues to try and talk Luke into turning to the dark side
and when he realizes Luke never will he brings up Leia, Luke s sister, and says maybe she will turn to
the dark side. This sparks something in Luke and he beings to fight back with Vader. Luke then cuts
Vader s other hand off and the Emperor is pleased because he believes Luke has hate in his heart and
tells him to kill his father and take his father s place in the dark side. Luke refuses and says he will
never turn to the dark side. The emperor draws angry and he tries to destroy Luke. Luke begs for
Vader s help and then Vader steps up and kills the

Reno V. ACLU Essay
In March of 1996, there was a federal court case of Reno v. ACLU, in which the American Library
Association had expert witnesses testifying on their behalf against the Communications Decency Act
in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) among other organizations. This is considered
the first Supreme Court ruling on the guidelines for materials circulating via the Internet. One of those
expert witnesses was Robert Croneberger, who demonstrated to the three judge panel on the near
impossibility and labor intensive work required to scour all libraries of sexual related references from
their collection on March 22, 1996. On June 11th of 1996, that same three judge panel deemed the
CDA as unconstitutional, using Croneberger s testimony three times in their decision.

How Does The Concentration Of Substrate Affect The...
Question # 1: How does the concentration of substrate affect the reaction rate?
Hypothesis: If the concentration of a substrate increases, any time an enzyme happens upon a
substrate it will be free to help that substrate react, but then when an enzyme encounters a new
substrate at a slightly higher concentration it will already be working on another substrate, therefore,
as we increase substrate concentration it is not going to increase as fast as the reaction rate. Argument:
Substrates are reacting molecules that are acted upon in order to make what is called the product (Bio
5LA Lab # 5, pp.1). However, this reaction would not be possible without enzymes, which are as
equally if not more important than substrates because they are ... Show more content on

This leads me to the argument that there is a relationship between concentration and absorbance that
will enable me to determine the concentration of a solution through the measurement of the color
change in a reaction tube (Bio 5LA Lab # 5, pp.3). It is evident, that the relationship between
concentration, reaction rate, color change, and absorbance plays an important role in demonstrating
that the reaction rate, goes hand in hand with concentration. Ultimately, their relationship will directly
affect the reaction rate of an enzyme catalyzed reaction (Maslov, Dmitri).
Experimental strategy: The experimental approach that will be taken, in order to test my hypothesis
involves the use of the spectrophotometer. This machine will enable me to examine the effect of
different substrate concentrations on the rate of reaction (Bio 5LA Lab # 5, pp.3). In brief, I will have
to take varying concentrations of a substrate, add an enzyme to each of tubes filled with different
concentrations, and rapidly place the tube into the spectrophotometer, in order to measure the time it
takes the varying substances to change color. As a result, when the color change is visible in any of the
varying substrate concentrations, it will be safe to say that, the enzyme has reacted with the substrate,
to form an enzyme substrate complex. Similarly, the time it took for a color change to happen, will
allow me to observe and record the rate at which each reaction

Comparing Story Openings of Bleak House by Charles...
At the opening of the story The Outsider , the writer Albert Camus places time in the wrong order.
This creates the impression that we are seeing into the character s thoughts rather than a story being
told to us. It works very effectively as the paragraphs are spontaneous and not in any form of order,
thus creating a mental picture in our heads of one or two day?s worth of events, as if we were
remembering them ourselves.
This, however, does not apply to Bleak house. Dickens does not use any form of time, but instead
decides to describe what is happening and makes the days, time, week or month irrelevant. It could be
any day, but Dickens does not want time to be the focal point of his story. This is effective because our
interest is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dickens starts the second paragraph with ?fog everywhere?. The bluntness and the repetitiveness work
well together in painting a picture, making an impression in your mind that you won?t forget.
Camus, in ?The Outsider?, makes a conscious decision not to use figurative language in his story, once
again creating the illusion of spontaneous thought. When using everyday language or when thinking
we do not include metaphors, similes or onomatopoeias, for example, ?Today, I should not have
fought Tracy in the office like a tigress who hasn?t eaten in a week, sinking my long, sharp claws and
teeth into her flesh?. Or at least it is uncommon to anyway. Camus is very economical with his
language.
However, Dickens, in ?Bleak House?, uses the opposite, applying figurative and descriptive language
wherever he can, to create the strong mental impressionistic painting in our minds to which the
narrator uses as a backdrop. Dickens also makes very subtle jokes in his opening, for example ??with
flakes of soot in it as big as full grown snow flake ? gone into mourning, one might imagine, for the
death for the sun.? This is ironic as, because of the setting of the story (post Michaelmas) snow flakes
remind of happy Christmas time joy, but instead Dickens personifies them, as if they have feelings
about the surroundings, ?gone into mourning, one might imagine, for the death of the sun.? Dickens

Music In Igor Stravinsky s The Rite Of Spring
Igor Stravinsky s ballet The Rite of Spring is a representation of his Russian roots and everything that
he and his culture celebrated. Stravinsky managed to bring an earthy and wild tone to an orchestra that
audiences were used to being so elegant and high class. The symbol of spring to the Russian culture
represents their new year with the revival of the crops and unity that was crucial to living. Embodying
the gathering of people with their relationship with the Earth, Stravinsky brought music back to the
origins of dance.
Born on June 17, 1882 in Oranienbaum, Russia, Igor Stravinsky was raised in St. Petersburg by his
father and mother. The family already with a musical background, Stravinsky did not want to pursue
the same career as his father and mother. While attending the University of St. Petersburg, Stravinsky
met the son of the composer Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov who changed his mind from studying law to
become a music composer. After the arrival of the first World War, Stravinsky, along with his wife and
children, fled from Russia. Stravinsky then proceeded to travel the world with his music, moving to
France with his family in 1920. Though Stravinsky moved from New York City to Los Angeles, his
time spent in Paris helped influence his inspiration for The Rites of Spring as the Parisian culture was
diffused from Russia. During his time in back in Russia, Igor Stravinsky spent a summer in Ustilug
where he discovered that the spring season is very influential

Social And Economic Effects Of Bacon s Rebellion
Bacon s Rebellion and its aftermath transformed Virginia s social and economic order by speeding
along the adoption of slavery as a primary means of labor. Nathaniel Bacon rallied ex indentured
servants and poor frontiersman against the colonial government. These people were forced to take less
desirable land on the outskirts of the colony where [...] they lived under the constant threat of
potentially hostile Native Americans (Bacon s Rebellion NBC). Bacon, frustrated with the apathy of
the government to address Indian aggression, lead his band of followers and indiscriminately attacked
Native Americans. Royal Governor Sir William Berkely refused to sanction these attacks and declared
Bacon a rebel, sending 300 militiamen to drag him to Jamestown for trial (Nash ... Show more content

Indentured servants were a limited resource as they would eventually become free. The non slaves
became more intransigent and apt to resist the efforts of the ruling class s economic and political
subjugation upon them. Southern planters began to look toward the African slave trade as a reliable
source of controllable labor. The economic power of England was rising and helped to increase the
level of slave purchasing and selling. The influx of white indentured servants from England into
Virginia drastically decreased which only accelerated the adoption of slavery. African slaves were a
more easily controlled and exploited labor pool. By the 1730s, the number of white indentured
servants had dwindled to insignificance (Nash, 60). When considering the legacy of Bacon s Rebellion
upon the transformation of Virginia, and beyond, this event in history demonstrated that poor whites
and poor blacks could be united in a cause. This was a great fear of the ruling class what would
prevent the poor from uniting to fight them? This fear hastened the transition to racial slavery

Examples Of Gothic In The House Of The Seven Gables
Hawthorne s Treatment Of The Gothic In The House Of Seven Gables
Hawthorne is renowned for his use of psychological analysis in his works, and the reason behind this
fame is quite evident in The House of the Seven Gables . An immensely powerful example of
Hawthorne s psychological perspicacity is what Marilyn R Chandler calls the parallel between the
house and the human psyche : the grand edifice represses literally shoves underground the secret that
will become its curse. (Chandler 82) In 1850, a few months before the publication of The House of the
Seven Gables , Herman Melville reviewed Mosses from an Old Manse , a short story collection by
Hawthorne, in his essay, Hawthorne and his Mosses . Melville lavished immense praise on

All veils are lifted towards the end, however. Judge Pyncheon is proved to have died of entirely
natural causes. With the death of the Judge, the grasping, greedy nature of the Pyncheons their fatal
flaw, if you will that set in motion the entire unfortunate chain of events, is shown to vanish too. The
curse that hung over each successive generation of the Pyncheons is rendered hollow by the union of
Holgrave and Phoebe, and the strange realm of witchcraft is also subverted by the slightly more
credible science of mesmerism. The aura of the uncanny starts to dissipate, and is finally dispelled
with the help of reasonable, rational explanations centred in the realm of the mundane, and
psychological justification wherein lies Hawthorne s specialty. Lionel Trilling, in Our Hawthorne ,
also appreciates Hawthorne s unmatched skill in this sphere: Many of the tales, or romances as he
thought of them, are multi levelled, ironic explorations of the human psyche capable of endless
extensions of meaning and of stimulating repeated analysis and interpretation. (Trilling

Mission Command In Operation Anaconda

I will discuss my analytical view on the events that took place in 2002, titled Operation Anaconda .
Richard Kulger wrote the case study that gives in depth insight on these events. Several units
participated in this mission from Special Operations (SOF), 10th Mountain, U.S. Army Rangers, and
also units from Afghanistan Army. I will discuss the six principles to mission command (Build

Uses And Uses Of Virtualization
Virtualization is being able to give a physical device the power, through the use of software, to do
more than that physical device was technically designed and able to do (Santana, 2014, p. 12). For
example, a server can only run one operating system at a time. However, when a hypervisor is used in
a server, the hypervisor is a layer of software that acts like the server itself so that many operating
systems can be run from that one server. The hardware, in this case a server, has been virtualized. The
goal is to use all of the computer s resources all of the time, and the only way to do that is to have
enough things running that the resources are being used consistently and efficiently. An analogy for
this could be online classes. If each teacher only had one student, the teacher s resources of time and
expertise would not be utilized efficiently because that one student will not need help all day, every
day. If the teacher is assigned to fifteen students, the students can still get help when needed from the
teacher, and they would not even be aware that they are not alone in the class. Because it is an online
class, the teacher does not need any more physical resources to teach an entire class than was needed
for one student. The students are receiving the benefits of being taught by that teacher without needing
to be with him or her physically. 2. Please define, in your own words, what a data center is and what
virtualization means in this environment. Data

The Utopian Vision of Mother Teresa Essay
The Utopian Vision of Mother Teresa
In August 1948, at the age of 38, Mother Teresa decided to adventure into the poorest neighborhoods
of Calcutta, India, in order to live out her utopian dream by providing food, care, education, and
shelter for the poor. Feeding people the Word of God; clothing them with dignity; educating them with
knowledge, peace, truth, justice and love; nursing the mind and spirit; and sheltering them with a heart
that understands. ( servants ) I believe that a utopian vision is any vision that follows natural law,
creates happiness in the community, and is feasible. Mother Teresa s visions are, in fact, effective
utopian visions. Mother Teresa s visions included living a simple life, serving the poorest ... Show

Her intentions more than her actions should be looked at and they were to love and treat everyone
equally. When Mother Teresa looked into the eyes of those she literally pulled out of the gutter, she
saw Jesus Christ. She said, They are Jesus. Everyone is Jesus in a distressing disguise. ( servant )
Mother Teresa teaches that the best way to live a simple life is by giving up all you have and joining
those that suffer physically and financially. She says, When all you got is all you ve got, all that s left
is to be yourself and you can only receive. And that, in a sense, is why the poor are blessed, because
they know what really matters . (M.T. Simple) If a simple life helps one to know yourself better than it
can also help you discover the natural law. (M.T. Simple) Poverty seems to me to degrade a sense of
self, causing the poor person to feel worthless and incapable. Poverty can be beautiful in that you are
not hiding behind someone and all you can do is receive, but I think it is important not to mystify
poverty like it is so glorious when really it is not. Mother Teresa says, Poverty is a wonderful gift
because it gives us freedom it means we have fewer obstacles to God. (M.T. Simple) I think education

Homeless Day-Personal Narrative
In summer of 2015, about the end of June, me and my friend Austen decided to go on a little walk
while our parents were talking to people. It was a hot summer day in Goddard, Kansas. We were not
very sure where we were going or how long we would be gone, but we still decided to go anyway. We
were just going to walk down the street talk about random things. So we grabbed what we wanted to
take with us, including our phones, wallets and my test kit since I m a type 1 diabetic. We also
grabbed two bottles of water because it was really hot outside. Are you about ready to go? I said to

We stopped so that I could check it. It turned out that my blood sugar was low. The only reason we

Who Moved My Cheese By Spencer Johnson
Character Identification In the book Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson, out of the four
main characters, I most resemble the little person Haw. Right away, it was obvious I was not like the
mice. I am a thinker. Sniff and Scurry reacted far too immediately for me. When the change happened,
they were already out in the maze seeing what they could find. Change tends to affect me more
heavily than it did the mice. I tend to use a combination of brainpower and emotion when I am
looking for my Cheese just like Hem and Haw. What makes me more similar to Hem is the reaction to
the change. When the Cheese goes missing, Hem experiences an intense emotional reaction. He yells
and screams because he feels entitled to his Cheese. He had been enjoying the Cheese for so long that
he could not imagine a situation where the Cheese was no longer there for him. Haw s reaction is
much more subtle. He was sad. The Cheese being at Cheese Station C was a measure of comfort for
him, and without it he was left in shock. This is precisely how I react. I tend to count on all the
constant people and situations in my life. If my family, girlfriend, car, apartment, or air conditioning
were ever to withdraw their presence it would leave me in shock. Just like with Haw, it is not about
me having the most powerful of any of the things listed above, but more about my personal comfort
with the current situation. After they find Cheese Station C empty several times, Hem and Haw

Jonestown Massacre Research Paper
The Jonestown Massacre from 1978 was the biggest number of American lives lost caused by a non
natural occurrence before the 9/11 tragedy in 2001. Thousands of members were a part of this San
Francisco Temple, or as some call it, a cult. Harvey Milk and other local politicians were members of
the group led by Reverend Jim Jones. The cult moved to the South American jungle due to the feeling
of paranoia over the medias suspicions of questionable activities. Before the massacre, Leo Ryan, a

A Summary Of The Neutralization Theory
Sykes and Matza introduced the neutralization theory in 1957. This theory explains wrongdoing and
misconduct recommends that criminal conduct be found out as procedure of social cooperation. This
study is concerned with qualities of denounced aggressive behavior at home guilty parties.
Accordingly, there has been much research mirroring the way that after victimized people break the
association with their abuser, ill used victimized people frequently float into different association with
an alternate abuser. Martza states, the law contains the seeds of its own neutralization (Marta, 1964).
For Instance, seeds exist in ideas, for example; understudy, self protection, craziness, and mischance.
Accordingly, the theory of neutralization recommends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contracts more with the single person. Robert Agnew distinguished three sorts of strain that create
deviation in an individual: failure to achieve goals, removal of positive stimuli, and confrontation with

Tony. As Tony grows up he starts to see the world as it really is witnessing the evil of Tenorio and the
cruelty of his classmates. As he grows he continues to read the Act of Contrition over the friends he

Short Essays in The Great Cat Massacre by Darnton
The Great Cat Massacre
Although the title of this book strikes the reader as unusual it begins to make complete sense once it is
read. This book is a series of short essays by Darnton. The second section, which is titled Workers
Revolt: The great Cat Massacre of the Rue Saint SĂ©rverin brings the reader directly into the views of
the working class during the 1700s in France. This style of writing allows situations to be viewed
through the lens of those who are experiencing it, making for a more interesting read. The context of
this portion of the book truly gives an in depth account of the emotions and conditions that peasants
would meet with while being treated as inferior to even the animals by the masters. It can be said that
Darnton included this portion of the book to show the customs of the French during this time as well
as to be able to see the way that the working class lived. From the reading the working class was the
base of society, doing the work for the noblemen and everyday citizens. In this section it involves a
particular situation with two men that are apprentices in a noble house. Apprentices would learn their
way into a position of a trade and gain their success this way. Unfortunately, the apprenticeship
program was not the most enjoyable experience. These men were not allowed to sit at a table for
meals, they had to sleep in freezing rooms that were dirty and horrid, and were forced to eat the food
scraps that even the cats rejected. These men

Questions will be out of order. How does measurements of SI help with business and commerce?
Companies need the exact amount and ingredients of what to put in their product. Such as a can of
soda. A can of soda normally contains 12 fluid ounces. 12 fluid ounces is approximately 354 grams.
These companies are using some sort of measurement system. We use something called imperial
system where as most countries use metric system. Governments don t want confusion to be amongst
them, so they only adopt on system of measurement. Why do scientists only prefer one system of
measurement? I think this is simply due to them not wanting to convert all their units into a whole
other dimension. Besides the fact that people are lazy. One interesting feature

The two science fiction phenomena Star Trek and Star Wars appear to have the same basic creative

How Does Achilles Show Honor In The Iliad
In Homer s epic, Iliad, Achilles is one of the main figures of the Trojan War. Achilles beliefs that he
defines throughout the passage are influenced by the manipulations of war that he encounters, along
with a focus on what the idea of glory entails and the effects that it has on one s honor. They are two
separate concepts, he recognizes, and during the Trojan War he knew that he could not have both. In
the selected passage from Book Nine, it is clear that Achilles, the Greek warrior, questions and
reevaluates the idea of honor and glory, as he believes honor and glory are inherently incompatible,
thus causing him to sacrifice one in order to have the other. This reevaluation emphasizes the
abnormal attitude from a once fierce warrior and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Angry and calling Agamemnon a hypocrite, he states, I hate it like I hate hell / the man who says one
thing and think another (168). Strategically beginning his soliloquy with a hostile accusation sets the
tone for the rest of the speech. This tone and structure is harsh, hyperbolic, and jumps between the two
arguments from which he bases his response: He cheated me, wronged me. Never again (170),
Achilles declares, focusing on the loss of honor and placing blame on Agamemnon. Just 29 lines after,
however, Achilles switches his focus to the other reason for leaving. Nothing is worth my life, not all
the riches / they say Troy held before the Greeks came... (171). This quick shift of focus is similar to a
rant going back and forth between arguments. His mind is not balancing on one thought, but rather
driven by emotions and rhetorical questions. For example, he brings up, why do the Greeks have to
fight the Trojans? Why did Agamemnon lead the army to Troy if not for the sake of fair haired Helen?
And now he thinks he s going to win me back? (169). This tone and these rhetorical questions serve to
exaggerate and humanize the argument. Achilles can only deal with so much he is only human, after
all, and must be treated like one. He is not Agamemnon s war puppet. The meaning and purpose for
Achilles rant is not muddled in the harsh and edgy speech; it is simply shown in various ways. He will
not fight for Agamemnon and is making it

Black and White People s Contrasting Ideas About Wealth...
In the poem Nikki Rosa by Nikki Giovanni, the poet communicates through her childhood memories
her belief that white people and black people have fundamentally different ideas about wealth and
happiness. Along with her words, she uses structure, tone and imagery to convey her belief that white
people and black people see their personal life experiences differently. Wealth for black people is love,
family, and togetherness, not tangible items. A sense of community and acceptance of one another are
more valuable than having even a private toilet. White people see black wealth as a hard life and focus
on the tangible things that are missing (i.e., a toilet or a bathtub) rather than the feelings of happiness
about being together. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
white people s perceptions of that memory. The author uses tone and images throughout to compare
and contrast the concepts of black wealth and a hard life . The author combines the use of images with
blunt word combinations to make her point. For example, you always remember things like living in
Woodlawn/with no inside toilet (line 3). This image evokes the warmth of remembering a special
community with the negative of having to use outdoor facilities. Another example of this combination
of tone and imagery is how good the water felt/ when you got your bath from one/ of those/ big tubs
that folk in chicago barbecue in (line 9). Again, the poet s positive memory of feeling fresh after her
bath is combined with the fact that she had to bathe in a barbecue drum. Images are vital to the poem s
meaning. They evoke the reader s emotions and show us that love is more valuable than all things, and
money does not define happiness. This is demonstrated by the images as well as the tone of the poem.
The author shares though you re poor it isn t poverty that/ concerns you/ and though they fought a lot/
it isn t your father s drinking that makes any difference/ but only that everybody is together (line 23
24). The images and tone in this quote are powerful and impress upon the reader the strong sense of

Pros And Cons Of Minimum Wage
COMPENSATION PACKAGES
Minimum Wage A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their
workers. Equivalently, it is the price floor below which workers may not sell their labor. Although
minimum wage laws are in effect in many jurisdictions, differences of opinion exist about the benefits
and drawbacks of a minimum wage. Supporters of the minimum wage say it increases the standard of
living of workers, reduces poverty, reduces inequality, and boosts morale. In contrast, opponents of the
minimum wage say it increases poverty, increases unemployment particularly among unskilled or
inexperienced workers and is damaging to businesses, because excessively high minimum wages
require businesses to raise the prices of their product or service to accommodate the extra expense of
paying a higher wage. In the US, wages for almost all workers are set either by market forces or by
collective bargaining. The body referred to as Fair Labor Standards Act determines the minimum
wage that is abided by all states. As per the 2015 data, the minimum wage per hour is 7.25 USD.
However, this is not the case with the fourteen states and some cities with their own minimum wage at
federal level. For instance, in Florida the minimum wage per hour is 8.10 USD and in California its
10.50 USD per hour. In Greenland the minimum wage for both private and public sector is 20 USD
per hour, not official. The pay rates are set through collective bargain agreements regardless

Creativity And Imagination And Creativity
Creativity is a form of problem solving that needs to be applied in cases in which neither the form of
the solution nor the path to it are clear (Grolier Educational 143). Creativity surrounds everyday life
because it is innovation and ability to learn the unknown. Although creativity and imagination are a
necessity in society, not everyone can be creative . Certain factors play a role in determining whether a
student could be creative; however, these factors could be unpredictable and not completely guarantee
a child s creativeness. Psychologist have created tests that are able to understand creativity better and
study creativeness. Even though results can be inconsistent, patterns have arose that have interested
psychologist trying to determine what factors into creativity. For example, intelligence does seem to
play a role in creativity; however, there is no clear ratio for someone s intelligence to their creativity,
and only a certain amount of intelligence is required to be creative. Studies have proven that that
people with mental illnesses have a higher chance of being creative than someone who does not.
Although, studies have also come to determine that students in a judge free and diverse environment
increased chances of having creativity and imagination. Even though creativity presents a difficult task
of pinning what contributes to the creativity in students, patterns have discovered that having a mental
illness and being exposed to a independent environment

The Effects Of Electric Cars On The Environment
The world revolves around innovation and working for a better future. Without experimentation and
new discoveries, the world would lack some of the most brilliant inventions that people take for
granted everyday. With that being said, there is also some inventions that some say have contributed to
the eventual destruction of the world. Petroleum powered vehicles are one of the many inventions that
have become a huge part of everyone s lives and has opened up a network of ways to travel and
communicate with others from all over the country. On the other hand, petroleum powered cars have
posed a huge threat over the years and has emerged as one of the top contributors to global warming.
Electric cars have emerged as a way to solve the problem. Although, there are negative effects on the
environment caused by all cars, the electric car is working to reduce the negative effects through
alternative power sources and by reducing the burning of fossil fuels to power them. The Nissan Leaf

was an ad that started out with a very familiar site. It was ice melting and polar ice caps breaking apart

Similarities Between Aristotle And Hobbes
What is the natural condition of man according to Aristotle and Hobbes? Please compare.
Aristotle and Thomas Hobbes, both significant figures in the world of philosophy, are separated by 19
centuries, and their theories are as far from each other. To be more precise, Aristotle s and Hobbes s
ideas of the nature of man are opposite, which was underlined by Hobbes himself in his Leviathan
work. I believe, that scarce anything can be more absurdly said in natural philosophy than that which
now is called Aristotle s Metaphysics; nor more repugnant to government than much of that he hath
said in his Politics; nor more ignorantly than a great part of his Ethics (III, 669). After these words,
there are no doubts that, being familiar with Aristotle s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting with the main idea: unlike Aristotle, Hobbs rejects any statements about the man as a social
creature. He states, that a man is an individual, and he only collaborates with other men because of the
instinct, because of the desire to survive. All men are equal, which is one more contradiction with
Aristotle, and all men are competitive. By himself man is an egoistic, willing the best for himself, like
power and wealth, but avoiding any kind of sufferings. When all men are the same, all men are like
this, there are constant conflicts, which is considered to be a natural state, according to Hobbes. Every
man is willing to take control over the others, the instinct of self preservation prevails in a man s
nature. This statement leads to the conclusion, that the natural state of man is a state of war. In this
state every man is against every man and everyone would just kill each other, but the only thing that
stops them and controls is an authority. Hobbes suggests that every State needs an absolute ruler,
absolute monarchy. He claims that because of the fear people keep the laws of this absolute monarch,
so only a stable government can keep people from their natural state, which is bellum omnium contra

Evaluation Of The Chicago Maternity Center
If a sweeping pestilence struck down as many women in a community as are taken in childbirth we
would immediately be aroused, claimed Beatrice E. Tucker, Director and Associate Obstetrician of
The Chicago Maternity Center. Beatrice was determined to helped needed women, in a needed
community, in Chicago. (Tucker, Beatrice E., and Harry B. Benaron, 1) The Chicago Maternity Center
was founded in 1895, by Dr. Joseph DeLee. However, it was led and directed by Dr. Beatrice Tucker,
accompanied by her partner Dr. Harry Benaron. The center was opened from 1932 until 1973. The
center provided free obstetrical care for poor women while at the same time helping doctors train for
the latest methods to as well provide safe delivery for these women (Simpson, 1). The center wasn t
such a famous hospital or clinic as the time. It also wasn t located by means of a medical school, such
as the University of Chicago. Instead, the Chicago Maternity Center was located at 1334 South
Newberry Street, centered at Chicago s West Side. The reason for this was because, when Beatrice
Tucker became the Chicago Maternity Center s leader, the community was trapped as a desperate poor
immigrant working class (Simpson, 1). Therefore, the center had two purposes. The first, was to care
for and treat poor women, in childbirth, right at their homes. Second, was to teach doctors, medical
students, and nurses the science and art of obstetrics (Tucker, Beatrice E., and Harry B. Benaron, 1).

Throughout most of the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, the setting has been predominately revolving
around a neighborhood in Maycomb County during the 1930s. The novel describes Maycomb County
as an old town in which in rainy weather the streets turn to red slop; grass grew on the sidewalks; the
courthouse sagged in the square (Lee 6) The street in which they live was also described as the main
residential street in town (Lee 6). As the novel continues, the readers understanding of the setting
grows as well. There are porches on the houses, Scout, Jem, and Dill play in the yard, there is plant
life as described as there being two live oaks stood at the edge of Radley lot; their roots reached out
into the side roads and made it bumpy (Lee 44), and the Finches are shown to have a driveway and car
(in chapter 8). This imagery and description allows the reader to concoct an image of this
neighborhood. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The picture was taken on 1937 in Wyland, Alabama by Arthur Rothstein (Rothstein 1943). The novel
stated that the streets turns muddy in the rain and in the picture there is dirt on the street and yard and
one can imagine that mud would be a result from rain. In the picture the houses have patios and there
are kids playing in the yard of the house. Both are in relation to the novel. The picture also shows
trees, which in the novel seems to be important with the progression of the plot (especially the one in
front of the Radley s Place). The picture also shows a car that can be similar to that of Atticus Finch.
The picture demonstrates the image one would get with the description provided in To Kill a

Choreographic Methods Of The Jdson Dance Theatre Analysis
Choreographic Methods of the Judson Dance Theater Sally Banes is an American writer and dance
historian and critic. She is also a professor of theater history and dance studies at the University of
Wisconsin Madison. Banes has written multiple books and contributed to many documentaries and
films. The book Moving History / Dancing Cultures, which Banes contributed to, includes the article
Choreographic Methods of the Judson Dance Theater . This book was published in 2001. Banes
introduces her topic by addressing the Judson Dance Company s main values and goals. She points out
that their main goal was to challenge the strict form of ballet as well as American modern dance. The
Judson Dance Theater focused on new instead of old and creativity instead of experience. Another
main goal was to explore every possible choreographic method or process to the best of their ability.
They desired to emphasize the choreographic process as a time of great creative opportunity, and that
it was not just the tedious, time consuming work that comes before what many view as the more
important aspect of rehearsing and performing a piece. Banes goes on to give different recounts from
previous students including Trisha Brown and Robert Dunn. After reading the article, the main point
seems to be introducing the reader to the Judson Dance Theater and investigating their influence on
the dance world. In the section pertaining to Dunn s choreography class, Banes discusses the topic of

Napster Case
Problem:
The core problem is a lack of overall innovation from Microsoft in entering the digital music
Player market. Their core strategy of providing this device as a networking tool only appealed to 11%
of the target market. Their use of innovation around the integration of wireless technology was not
taking advantage of a key component, connecting to the internet to download additional media. The
lack of innovation was also depicted by their proprietary use of the media that was compatible with
the devices. You could only purchase music from the Zune Store, alienating partners such as Napster
who standardized on the Microsoft
PlaysForSure standard. There was also a lack of innovation in its marketing launch and

Pro s:The real buying power has to reside in the 35 65 population. Imagine
being able to market to this group of professionals, who have a higher discretionary spending ability
that you will convert their, sometimes significant investment in their CD library to a portable device in
an easy and quick fashion. By not allowing them to do this,
Apple and other MP3 only devices have forced consumers to repurchase their music.
Therefore, by appealing to the TCO aspect of the initial investment made by the consumers it could be
a huge new market and access point for Microsoft. Perhaps not as sexy as the young and hip market
that Apple controls, but it s market share after all and Microsoft needs to recognize that this particular
market is already very saturated, so they need to innovate in their feature/function and marketing
techniques, which requires a revamp of their core mission.
Cons: If the integration of a CD library is not easy to use, the target market
would quickly reject the brand. This has to be a plug and play technique.
Issues:
1. Apple has a very dominant foothold on the market. Apple has dominated the market
not only with marketing and brand acceptance, enjoying a $20B+ annual sales business, but
can also claim over 100M customers. Everyone else is so far behind, where Apple enjoys 65%
80% of the market, everyone else is

Essay on The Process of Mummification
The Process of Mummification The earliest ancient Egyptians buried their dead in small pits in the
desert. The heat and dryness of the sand dehydrated the bodies quickly, creating lifelike and natural
mummies
Later, the ancient Egyptians began burying their dead in coffins to protect them from wild animals in
the desert. However, they realized that bodies placed in coffins decayed when they were not exposed
to the hot, dry sand of the desert.
Over many centuries, the ancient Egyptians developed a method of preserving bodies so they would
remain lifelike.Today we call this process mummification.
First the embalmers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then it is covered with oils to help the skin stay elastic.
The dehydrated internal organs are wrapped in linen and returned to the body. The body is stuffed with
dry materials such as sawdust, leaves and linen so that it looks lifelike. Often the mummy would be
over filled with sawdust and it would explode.
Some times the embalmers made mistakes and a body was badly mummified. It would turn dark and
brittle and limbs would drop off. If the person had a missing limb due to bad mummification or
because they had previously had a limb missing wooden ones would be used as substitutes.
Finally the body is covered again with good smelling oils. It is now ready to be wrapped in linen
In the past, when the internal organs were removed from a body they were placed in hollow canopic
jars.
Over many years the embalming practices changed and embalmers began returning internal organs to
bodies after the organs had been dried in natron. However, solid wood or stone canopic jars were still
buried with the mummy to symbolically protect the internal organs.

Name Of The Rose
The movie, The Name of the Rose is about apprentice Adso of Melk and his mentor, Franciscan friar
William of Baskerville. These two men traveled to a Benedictine abbey to discuss the poverty of
Christ. While at the abbey, there was a series of mysterious murders that continued to take place one
after another. The abbey requested that William and Adso help to solve the mystery of why these
murders were taking place. Through many trials and setbacks, William discovered that a secretive
book was being passed from person to person. He learned that when a person touched the book with
their hands, they later digested the poisonous ink. This poisonous ink that got on the victims hands
was the cause of all the murders. Therefore, the movie does not have an accurate plot, however the
historical background in the film is correct based on the sources.
In The Life Times of St. Francis, St. Francis was born in Assisi and was raised in a church going
family. In his younger years, he enlisted into the military until he eventually came back to the church.
He dedicated his life to Christ and the church in 1207 and ultimately became a friar, a deacon, and a
preacher in his adult years. St. Francis believed in the gospel and worshipping God. In 1210, he was
the founder of the Franciscan movement which was made up of orders about the teachings and
spiritual disciplines of the founder, associates, and followers. Moving forward to 1212, St. Francis

What Is The Silent Generation
It is important to realize that, the poet s poems are considered as historical records of a very important
period. He belongs to the silent or lost generation and writes about their time. In his poem Silent
Generation , he approves that. He says,
When Hitler was the Devil
He did as he had sworn
With such enthusiasm
That even, donnerwetter,
The Germans say, Far better
Had he been never born!
It was my generation
That put the Devil down
With great enthusiasm.
But now our occupation
Is gone. Our education
Is wasted on the town. (1 12)
In this poem he mourns his generation and describes them as the silent generation because politics
forces them to pass through very difficult times. The Silent Generation refers to those who were born

He makes time move backwards and forwards when he links two wars together. While the speaker of
the poem addresses himself as a soldier in the first world war, he brings up names of German and
American planes The German Taube and the Nieuport Scout, which were produced in the second
world war. Actually, the poet intends to link the experience of two soldiers; one served in the first
world war which called Great War, and the other one is a soldier in the second world. David K.
Vaughan says that the main reason behind linking the two experiences from different times at one
poem is to convey that wars images are kept in the minds of the soldier, and wars always have the
same meanings but in new and different time (100). On the same hand, Hank Lazer believes that
Simpson links the WWI with WWII in this poem to suggest that wars are effective because of the
futility of heroism throughout wars (187). He claims that the main reason behind considering Simpson
s poems some of the best war poems is the sense of hallucination that found in his shadowy characters.
He provides the soldiers narration of their dairies with hallucinatory quality

Tragic Death Of Romeo And Juliet
The play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare is a tragic love story set in the olden days about
two teenagers from different feuding families falling in love ultimately resulting in both of their
deaths. The story contains lots of supporting characters that contribute to causing the death of Romeo
and Juliet. One character that has a big impact on their deaths is Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence is a
friend to both Romeo and Juliet along with being a priest that marries many of the townspeople. Friar
Laurence s caring personality, gracious motives, and foolish actions lead to Romeo and Juliet s tragic
death. Throughout the play, Friar Laurence demonstrates a caring and friendly personality to Romeo
and Juliet. In act 3 scene 3 Romeo goes to Friar Laurence and tells him how distraught he is about not

The friar supports Romeo and Juliet being together because he hopes that it will bring the two families
together, The Capulets, and Montagues, and end their generations long feud. In act 2 scene 4 the Friar
says, In one respect I ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households
rancor to pure love. (Act 2, Scene 4, Lines 90 93). This shows that he not only wants Romeo and
Juliet to be happy but he wants to create peace by bringing the two households together. This shows
strong optimism because the two families have been feuding for generations and the solution to this
seems more complicated than two of the family members dating, this seems like it would create more
problems, which it later does in the story, but The Friar keeps his optimism that this will end the
fueding of the families. This does not go as The Friar believes it will, it actually goes tragically wrong,
resulting in causing the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This shows that even though The Friar
keeps optimistic views it still results in the tragic deaths of Romeo and

  • 2. Cornell Argument Essay Attending the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University has always been a goal for me in pursuing my target of becoming a nutritional scientist. I grew up in traditional Chinese education, the first poem I learned is called Commiseration for the Peasants written by Shen Li. This poem conveys the idea that foods don t come easily, people should respect the work of farmers. This really connects to me because both my grandparents and my aunts are farmers. I had once experienced their job when I was a third grader in elementary school. This experience let me set my mind of studying agriculture. It s a hot afternoon, the temperature outside is over 100 degree Fahrenheit. The sun shines everywhere, I can barely step outside of my house. I thought I would be burned to death if I stay out for one than a minute. However, my aunt sets a good example for me. She grabs her hat and walked out of the house without saying anything. Her action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To be honest, the first thing I know about Cornell University is the excellent food they have. The rebels are against the Empire and are trying to take them down throughout these movies. The ruler of the Empire, the Emperor, has Darth Vader as his sort of side kick . ACLU, in which the American Library Association had expert witnesses testifying on their behalf against the Communications Decency Act in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) among other organizations. This is considered the first Supreme Court ruling on the guidelines for materials circulating via the Internet. One of those expert witnesses was Robert Croneberger, who demonstrated to the three judge panel on the near impossibility and labor intensive work required to scour all libraries of sexual related references from their collection on March 22, 1996. On June 11th of 1996, that same three judge panel deemed the CDA as unconstitutional, using Croneberger s testimony three times in their decision. • 5. How Does The Concentration Of Substrate Affect The... Question # 1: How does the concentration of substrate affect the reaction rate? Hypothesis: If the concentration of a substrate increases, any time an enzyme happens upon a substrate it will be free to help that substrate react, but then when an enzyme encounters a new substrate at a slightly higher concentration it will already be working on another substrate, therefore, as we increase substrate concentration it is not going to increase as fast as the reaction rate. Argument: Substrates are reacting molecules that are acted upon in order to make what is called the product (Bio 5LA Lab # 5, pp.1). However, this reaction would not be possible without enzymes, which are as equally if not more important than substrates because they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This leads me to the argument that there is a relationship between concentration and absorbance that will enable me to determine the concentration of a solution through the measurement of the color change in a reaction tube (Bio 5LA Lab # 5, pp.3). It is evident, that the relationship between concentration, reaction rate, color change, and absorbance plays an important role in demonstrating that the reaction rate, goes hand in hand with concentration. Ultimately, their relationship will directly affect the reaction rate of an enzyme catalyzed reaction (Maslov, Dmitri). Experimental strategy: The experimental approach that will be taken, in order to test my hypothesis involves the use of the spectrophotometer. This machine will enable me to examine the effect of different substrate concentrations on the rate of reaction (Bio 5LA Lab # 5, pp.3). In brief, I will have to take varying concentrations of a substrate, add an enzyme to each of tubes filled with different concentrations, and rapidly place the tube into the spectrophotometer, in order to measure the time it takes the varying substances to change color. As a result, when the color change is visible in any of the varying substrate concentrations, it will be safe to say that, the enzyme has reacted with the substrate, to form an enzyme substrate complex. Similarly, the time it took for a color change to happen, will allow me to observe and record the rate at which each reaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Comparing Story Openings of Bleak House by Charles... At the opening of the story The Outsider , the writer Albert Camus places time in the wrong order. This creates the impression that we are seeing into the character s thoughts rather than a story being told to us. It works very effectively as the paragraphs are spontaneous and not in any form of order, thus creating a mental picture in our heads of one or two day?s worth of events, as if we were remembering them ourselves. This, however, does not apply to Bleak house. Dickens does not use any form of time, but instead decides to describe what is happening and makes the days, time, week or month irrelevant. It could be any day, but Dickens does not want time to be the focal point of his story. This is effective because our interest is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dickens starts the second paragraph with ?fog everywhere?. The bluntness and the repetitiveness work well together in painting a picture, making an impression in your mind that you won?t forget. Camus, in ?The Outsider?, makes a conscious decision not to use figurative language in his story, once again creating the illusion of spontaneous thought. When using everyday language or when thinking we do not include metaphors, similes or onomatopoeias, for example, ?Today, I should not have fought Tracy in the office like a tigress who hasn?t eaten in a week, sinking my long, sharp claws and teeth into her flesh?. Or at least it is uncommon to anyway. Camus is very economical with his language. However, Dickens, in ?Bleak House?, uses the opposite, applying figurative and descriptive language wherever he can, to create the strong mental impressionistic painting in our minds to which the narrator uses as a backdrop. Dickens also makes very subtle jokes in his opening, for example ??with flakes of soot in it as big as full grown snow flake ? gone into mourning, one might imagine, for the death for the sun.? This is ironic as, because of the setting of the story (post Michaelmas) snow flakes remind of happy Christmas time joy, but instead Dickens personifies them, as if they have feelings about the surroundings, ?gone into mourning, one might imagine, for the death of the sun.? • 7. Music In Igor Stravinsky s The Rite Of Spring Igor Stravinsky s ballet The Rite of Spring is a representation of his Russian roots and everything that he and his culture celebrated. Stravinsky managed to bring an earthy and wild tone to an orchestra that audiences were used to being so elegant and high class. The symbol of spring to the Russian culture represents their new year with the revival of the crops and unity that was crucial to living. Embodying the gathering of people with their relationship with the Earth, Stravinsky brought music back to the origins of dance. Born on June 17, 1882 in Oranienbaum, Russia, Igor Stravinsky was raised in St. Petersburg by his father and mother. The family already with a musical background, Stravinsky did not want to pursue the same career as his father and mother. While attending the University of St. Petersburg, Stravinsky met the son of the composer Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov who changed his mind from studying law to become a music composer. After the arrival of the first World War, Stravinsky, along with his wife and children, fled from Russia. Stravinsky then proceeded to travel the world with his music, moving to France with his family in 1920. Though Stravinsky moved from New York City to Los Angeles, his time spent in Paris helped influence his inspiration for The Rites of Spring as the Parisian culture was diffused from Russia. The economic power of England was rising and helped to increase the level of slave purchasing and selling. The influx of white indentured servants from England into Virginia drastically decreased which only accelerated the adoption of slavery. Examples Of Gothic In The House Of The Seven Gables Hawthorne s Treatment Of The Gothic In The House Of Seven Gables Hawthorne is renowned for his use of psychological analysis in his works, and the reason behind this fame is quite evident in The House of the Seven Gables . An immensely powerful example of Hawthorne s psychological perspicacity is what Marilyn R Chandler calls the parallel between the house and the human psyche : the grand edifice represses literally shoves underground the secret that will become its curse. (Chandler 82) In 1850, a few months before the publication of The House of the Seven Gables , Herman Melville reviewed Mosses from an Old Manse , a short story collection by Hawthorne, in his essay, Hawthorne and his Mosses . • 11. Uses And Uses Of Virtualization Virtualization is being able to give a physical device the power, through the use of software, to do more than that physical device was technically designed and able to do (Santana, 2014, p. 12). For example, a server can only run one operating system at a time. However, when a hypervisor is used in a server, the hypervisor is a layer of software that acts like the server itself so that many operating systems can be run from that one server. The hardware, in this case a server, has been virtualized. The goal is to use all of the computer s resources all of the time, and the only way to do that is to have enough things running that the resources are being used consistently and efficiently. An analogy for this could be online classes. If each teacher only had one student, the teacher s resources of time and expertise would not be utilized efficiently because that one student will not need help all day, every day. If the teacher is assigned to fifteen students, the students can still get help when needed from the teacher, and they would not even be aware that they are not alone in the class. Because it is an online class, the teacher does not need any more physical resources to teach an entire class than was needed for one student. The students are receiving the benefits of being taught by that teacher without needing to be with him or her physically. 2. This book is a series of short essays by Darnton. The second section, which is titled Workers Revolt: The great Cat Massacre of the Rue Saint SĂ©rverin brings the reader directly into the views of the working class during the 1700s in France. This style of writing allows situations to be viewed through the lens of those who are experiencing it, making for a more interesting read. • 26. Black and White People s Contrasting Ideas About Wealth... In the poem Nikki Rosa by Nikki Giovanni, the poet communicates through her childhood memories her belief that white people and black people have fundamentally different ideas about wealth and happiness. Along with her words, she uses structure, tone and imagery to convey her belief that white people and black people see their personal life experiences differently. Wealth for black people is love, family, and togetherness, not tangible items. A sense of community and acceptance of one another are more valuable than having even a private toilet. White people see black wealth as a hard life and focus on the tangible things that are missing (i.e., a toilet or a bathtub) rather than the feelings of happiness about being together. The ... The author combines the use of images with blunt word combinations to make her point. For example, you always remember things like living in Woodlawn/with no inside toilet (line 3). This image evokes the warmth of remembering a special community with the negative of having to use outdoor facilities. Another example of this combination of tone and imagery is how good the water felt/ when you got your bath from one/ of those/ big tubs that folk in chicago barbecue in (line 9). Again, the poet s positive memory of feeling fresh after her bath is combined with the fact that she had to bathe in a barbecue drum. Images are vital to the poem s meaning. They evoke the reader s emotions and show us that love is more valuable than all things, and money does not define happiness. This is demonstrated by the images as well as the tone of the poem. The author shares though you re poor it isn t poverty that/ concerns you/ and though they fought a lot/ it isn t your father s drinking that makes any difference/ but only that everybody is together (line 23 24). • 29. Pros And Cons Of Minimum Wage COMPENSATION PACKAGES Minimum Wage A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their workers. Equivalently, it is the price floor below which workers may not sell their labor. Although minimum wage laws are in effect in many jurisdictions, differences of opinion exist about the benefits and drawbacks of a minimum wage. Supporters of the minimum wage say it increases the standard of living of workers, reduces poverty, reduces inequality, and boosts morale. In contrast, opponents of the minimum wage say it increases poverty, increases unemployment particularly among unskilled or inexperienced workers and is damaging to businesses, because excessively high minimum wages require businesses to raise the prices of their product or service to accommodate the extra expense of paying a higher wage. In the US, wages for almost all workers are set either by market forces or by collective bargaining. The body referred to as Fair Labor Standards Act determines the minimum wage that is abided by all states. As per the 2015 data, the minimum wage per hour is 7.25 USD. However, this is not the case with the fourteen states and some cities with their own minimum wage at federal level. For instance, in Florida the minimum wage per hour is 8.10 USD and in California its 10.50 USD per hour. In Greenland the minimum wage for both private and public sector is 20 USD per hour, not official. The pay rates are set through collective bargain agreements regardless ... He states, that a man is an individual, and he only collaborates with other men because of the instinct, because of the desire to survive. All men are equal, which is one more contradiction with Aristotle, and all men are competitive. By himself man is an egoistic, willing the best for himself, like power and wealth, but avoiding any kind of sufferings. When all men are the same, all men are like this, there are constant conflicts, which is considered to be a natural state, according to Hobbes. Every man is willing to take control over the others, the instinct of self preservation prevails in a man s nature. This statement leads to the conclusion, that the natural state of man is a state of war. In this state every man is against every man and everyone would just kill each other, but the only thing that stops them and controls is an authority. The friar supports Romeo and Juliet being together because he hopes that it will bring the two families together, The Capulets, and Montagues, and end their generations long feud. In act 2 scene 4 the Friar says, In one respect I ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households rancor to pure love. (Act 2, Scene 4, Lines 90 93). This shows that he not only wants Romeo and Juliet to be happy but he wants to create peace by bringing the two households together. This shows strong optimism because the two families have been feuding for generations and the solution to this seems more complicated than two of the family members dating, this seems like it would create more problems, which it later does in the story, but The Friar keeps his optimism that this will end the fueding of the families. This shows that even though The Friar keeps optimistic views it still results in the tragic deaths of Romeo and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
