The Wannabes In The Canterbury Tales
The Wannabes As members of the working class, the guildsmen s ultimate desire is to belong to
the noble class. Chaucer treats the guildsmen as a group of craftsmen and gives them no
individual importance; while they journey on the pilgrimage, they only appear in the prologue
and do not tell a tale of their own. The guildsmen and their wives are financially well off, wear
fine clothes and seem obsessed with their own self importance. To show off their money, they bring
a cook along on the pilgrimage. Mentioned in the prologue as well, the cook appears to be a
repulsive character that makes simple meals. Chaucer the pilgrim thinks highly of the guildsmen,
but Chaucer the poet uses satire to show that money and appearance cannot buy... Show more

To flaunt their riches, they hire a cook to travel on the pilgrimage. The only other pilgrim to
bring along a servant is the Knight, who is one of the oldest members of the nobility. The cook
made simple, not fancy meals, as the narrator explains, For boiling chicken with a marrow bone,
/ Sharp flavouring powder and a spice for savour. The cook is described as repulsive and drunk
all the time. He could distinguish London ale by flavour and he had an ulcer on his knee. Here,
Chaucer the poet reveals how unappetizing and unsanitary it is to think that one s food is being
prepared by someone with a puss oozing sore on his leg. The guildsmen look and appear wealthy
but actually eat dishes of the lower

Descriptive Memory
When there s a memory you can t forget it s either because it was so pleasant and brought
happiness while it was happening, so you remember that specific moment and enjoy the good
memories of it and smile. Or, you can t forget it simply because it was such a bad experience that
you hold on to the memory to hope to never come across something similar. I wouldn t say that
my first job is unforgettable because of the joy it brought to me; sure it brought me some financial
freedom and independence. But it s easier to remember due to the sacrifices I had to make as a
sophomore in high school. Yes, I was a Cicis Pizza employee. Do you ever drive down the street
and see someone holding up a big sign stating some type of promotion? Of course you see them,
that s the point as to why they are doing it, to catch your attention. What would catch my attention
more was how hot, musty and sticky that person must be, holding that sign up under this
powerfully, blazing, draining Miami sun. Well I never thought that at one point, I would be
holding a large Cicis Pizza buffet sign under those sizzling circumstances. Not to mention our
uniform was a black t shirt, black Dickies, black sneakers, and a black hat. Dripping in sweat my
first hour of being clocked in, with some type of outdoor odorencarved in my uniform, and already
feeling a little tired with an uneven sunburn. How was I going to pull through the rest of my
shift? Was I wrong for already disliking my job only being an hour in? Every day as a Cicis
Pizza employee that s what my first hour consisted of, trying to get more people to come dine
inn our restaurant. My boss made it clear that if I had to hold my sign and jump up and down,
shout out Cici s Pizza!! Come have lunch here , throw my sign around, or twirl it to get more
people to look, that s what I had to do. Whatever it was I had to ensure that the amount of
customers coming in today was greater than yesterdays. At times, I would even gather a group of
my friends or family and tell them to go, and tell them to bring along some of their friends to. I
would even comment to them how I would give them a good pricing deal, or how we could even
create and personalize their own flavorful pizza.Whether it was a

Numerous leaders have been stepping up by establishing and incorporating their compassion to

willingness and boom of passion are evidently shared, witnessed, or undergone a tragic set of
events. Evidently, inspiration and hope developed in means to prevent or reduce a grievous set of
acts that prey on groups of people. For instance, my compassion lies with my culture and the various

The overview of these three programs and attaining them is optimal, essentially a cycle of
opportunity. By providing these services it develops a base for a long term goal of achieving self
sufficiency and out of poverty. However, the accessibility of these beneficial resources may be
difficult to obtain based on eligibility. New ideas that may help improve or reduce disparities in
future programs can begin by concentrating on and expanding educational resources. For instance, a
program that holds educational sessions on a monthly base, targeting communities, informing
families of available resources and assisting with the application process. Another idea would be
collaborating with the school system, specifically low income based communities. After school
program can be initiated to target parents that need assistance with extra resources and services.

Work Life Balance Is Dead By Isabel Rimanoczy Summary
Ms. Isabel Rimanoczy made great points in this article. Though some may view her as a work
body, she and I share a mutual understanding when it comes to work life balance. Ms. Rimanoczy
is not buying the idea that there is some sort of balance between the two aspects of our lives.
Work life balance is dead and it may be a good thing (Rimanoczy, 2015). I agree with her
statement because if anyone takes the time to think about it, they will soon come to terms with the
idea that it really becomes impossible to separate work and personal life. Some of us grow up with
moral values, standards, and familytraditions carried on through religious beliefs. When we go to
work we will bring along our character because our personal life defines us as

However, the windows not only serve to escape, through them is also reached love: but, soft!
What light through yonder window breaks? . Shakespeare writes about the light that comes from

us our yearnings for protection, for home, for what we love most. But a few lines later, when
Romeo must leave, it is Julieta who reminds us that through the window also escapes life: Then,

Science and Investigatory Project
INVESTIGATORY PROJECT
1. Get an idea. All of the following steps will base on your idea. Make sure it doesn t break any
rule or else you might get disqualified. You can search for it if you don t have any idea. 2. Form a
title. Usually titles are in a form of a question. This are examples. The question can start in how,
does and many other. Does temperature affect the growth of molds?
Does salt affect the density of water?
3. Research your idea. You have to know your idea more. You can do this by reading, surfing the
Internet or discussing it. Knowing your idea more will help you construct your work. 4. Form a
hypothesis. Hypothesis will be your prediction in the idea that you choose. You don t need to
research for this. You just have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has an objective or purpose. It should not be written too long or too short. By just reading the
title, you can determine what the investigative study is all about.
Abstract
The Abstract should be one or two paragraphs only. It includes your research problems, the method
or procedure that you used and the findings or conclusion of the study.
Chapter I
1. Introduction and Its Background
The Introduction is about one page only wherein it includes the background of the study and its
rationale. It usually leads into the research problem.
2. Statement of the Problem
The Statement of the Problem has two categories namely: the general problem and specific
problems. Usually, one general problem and three specific problems which derived from the
general problem. The research problems should be specific, reliable, valid, measurable, objectively
stated. It can be a question form or in a declarative statement.
3. Formulation of the Hypothesis
The Formulation of the Hypothesis has two types namely: the null hypothesis and affirmative
hypothesis. Hypotheses is a scientific guess which intends subject for thorough investigation. It is
recommended to use null hypothesis in your research project.
4. Significant of the Study
The Significant of the Study indicates how important is your investigatory project for the people,
environment and community as a whole. It is really relevant in the changing world or global impact

Athletes Vs Pro Sports Players
A man that fights in the military should make more money than a professional sports player. A
soldier can t see his or her family on holidays, birthdays, or anniversaries, while a sports player
can bring their families to their games. A man who plays for the NBA makes up to 5 million
dollars per year according to moneynation.com. A sergeant in the U.S Army makes only 35,592
dollars per year. A collegefootball coach in Alabama makes 75,000 dollars for having a title and
125,000 for winning a game. This is much more than soldier. Soldiers risk their lives, and know
that they may not wake up in the morning and see the light of day. Pro sports players do not risk
their lives, and only have to worry about getting an injury while playing.

No Good Deed Character Analysis
Format, premise, character traits and relationships for the episode analyzed. Daniel, you chose a
great format style for the series, No Good Deed, your analysis was broken down quite well. I do
agree with this series can fall under the drama comedic style of the webisode. You mentioned,
Ernest Fiddler, is blunt and straight to the point. If his son makes a mistake, Ernest tells him his
errors without a filter. The script stated by Ernest to Roy, One, don t let those quacks put me on
life support, tubes all stickin out of me and whatnot. When it s my time, it s my time. This
statement proves he was blunt and direct in his speech. You also mentioned, The main
protagonist, Roy Fiddler, has a good sense of justice. Roy always strives to do what is right,
unaware of the problems he might encounter. This is shown in the script, Roy looks at the
flowers and smiles, an idea coming to him. Checking no one s looking, he ditches the coffee line
and salvages the flowers from the trash. Roy had a good sense to do something good, however, his
good deed turns deadly when his father goes into a coma due to an allergic reaction. Overall, your

Barack Obama s Presidential Debates
During the Democratic presidential debates on Tuesday, frontrunner Hillary Clinton was backed by
her fellow Democratic contenders, most notably, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I VA), who remarked in
response to Clinton s e mail flap, Let me say something that may not be great politics, but I think
the secretary is right. The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.

This was an early warm moment between the contenders, but the debate turned crisp at times while
the contenders focused on an array of issues deeply impacting Americans, including the economy,
criminal justice, the environment, among other leading issues.
However, despite the pass that Clinton received in the presence of her political peers and media
inquisitors, Clinton s characterization of the e mail investigation as benign involving Clinton s
candidacy may be a red herring. In the matter of government whistleblowers, former NSA

It came from his lifelong passion to help man to a higher plane of civilization and existence. Mr.
Hubbard was not only a writer, but a full Renaissance man too. He was born on March 13, 1911
in new England. He traveled to many places as he moved from child to adult. He took trips to
Orient, directed two expeditions to the Caribbean, and found himself in Asia a few times.
It was in his travels to Asia that he ended up seeing multiple counts of misery and pain. He asked
himself why all this and What depths can man fall to ? He found that there was not much known
about the true nature of man and became fascinated with this line of research to which he made his
life s work. He found that the common denominator of existence is survival and outlined the theory
that life is composed of two things, the material universe and an X factor...that can evidently
organize and mobilize the material universe. His first major work on the subject was called
Dianetics, The Modern Science of Mental Health. Dianetics is a methodology which is designed
to help relieve people of such things as unwanted sensations and emotions, irrational fears and
psychosomatic illnesses. Dianetics is defined as what the soul is doing to the body as a complete.
It is basically a mental therapy which led to the study of Scientology.

Rough Draft Of A Personal Essay Example
Farm kid, sister, and coffee lover are a couple of things that describe me. However, those are not
the things that define me. I believe there are two adjectives that define me: hard working and
passionate. Hard work and passion influence almost everything that I do in life. I also contribute
the small successes that I have had to being hard working and passionate. Hard work and passion
are two things that were fostered on my family s farm. Growing up, each day I would hop in my
grandpa s old, red Chevy and ride down to the farm to spend the day with him. We fed the
animals, scouted crops, and did other miscellaneous jobs. Working on the farm all day with my
grandpa built my strong work ethic. And as for passion, my passion for the agricultural industry
grew deeper each day that I spent at the farm. The experiences on my family s farm shaped who I
am. Not only did it build my work ethic and foster my passion for agriculture but, it also defined

determine a child s cognitive academic language proficiency. Also, the test has many

A major strength of this assessment is that this assessment has a Nonverbal Index. This is beneficial
for students who are not yet proficient in the English language or struggle with language.
Administering the Nonverbal Index allows the administrator to gain a better understanding of the
child s abilities because their language issues are not working against them with this test. Also, this
assessment has two theories of intelligence that can be tested: the Luria neurological processing
theory and Cattell Horn Carroll (CHC) theory of intelligence. With the Luria Model, you will obtain
the Mental Processing Index of Learning Ability, Sequential Processing, Simultaneous Processing,
and Planning Ability. With the Cattell Horn Carroll model, you will obtain the Fluid Crystallized
Index with the areas of long term storage and retrieval, short term memory, visual processing, fluid
reasoning, and crystallized ability. This assessment is also more child friendly because of the
visuals throughout the test. A weakness of this assessment is the administrator will not be able to
obtain a score for auditory processing and processing speed with this assessment, requiring the
administrator to utilize another intelligence assessment. This assessment has two intelligence
theories options to choose from: the Luria

Nonpermanent Members Of The United Nations
On October 24, 1945, the five victors of World War II assembled in San Francisco to draft a
document called the Charter of the United Nations, which outlined the laws of the United Nations.
This charter created six different branches of the UN. One of the six organs was the UN Security
Council. The Security Council was assigned the task of ensuring that international peace and
security is maintained. The SC consists of fifteen total members whom are also members of the
United Nations. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the Republic of China, the United States
of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and France act as the five
permanent members of the United Nations because they were the original victors of the Second
World War. The remaining ten nonpermanent members of the UN are elected by the General
Assembly for a two year term. Each member of the UN Security Council is allowed only one
representative.
Diving more in depth about how the UNSC ensures that international peace and security is
maintained, it is important to understand how the Security Council operates. The charter states that,
the Security Council shall act in accordance with the purposes and principle of the United Nations.
(Article 24) When it comes to the topic of voting, decisions of the Security Council procedural
matters shall be made by an affirmative vote of nine members. (Article 27) The Security Council

Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology, proposed by
Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, A Theory of Human Motivation . His hypothesis stated that
within every human being there exists a hierarchy of five needs. These needs are physiological:
hunger, thirst and shelter; safety: security and protection from physical and emotional harm; social:
affection, acceptance and friendship; esteem: self respect, recognition, autonomy, and achievement;
and self actualization: the drive to grow and become something, achieving potential and self
fulfillment (Maslow, 1954). Maslow is still relevant to managers today. In order to motivate
someone a manager must understand what level of hierarchy the person is on and focus on
satisfying that level and those above it. The manager must also account for an individual s intensity,
direction and persistence since this also affects how a person attains their goals (Robbins Judge,
2007).

Analysis Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly
One of the most popular formats for literature is a hero faced with seemingly insurmountable
struggles who is able to overcome these obstacles and live happily ever after . However, some of
the most famous books in literature have an extremely different structure to their stories. These
books center on characters of questionable moral integrity, who through their own poor decisions
bring about their own misery and often ultimate demise. When examined this theme of self
destruction can be seen in many of what are considered the greatest books in western
civilization. One of the books where this theme can be seen is in the popular horror story
Frankenstein written in 1816 by Mary Shelly. Another place this can be seen is in many of the
writings of Edgar Allen Poe, especially in his physiological thrillers. An additional place this can
be seen is in the play written in 1890 by Henrik Ibsencalled Hedda Gabler. In all of these stories it
is the main characters own choices that lead to the destruction of their happiness. Frankenstein is
one of the most famous classic horror stories in today s culture, having been retold and reimagined
countless times. However, when one reads the original book by Mary Shelly, Frankenstein may be
seen as not quite the sympathetic character some more recent renditions lead one to believe. The
book indicates that the main reason Frankenstein is lead to create his monster is because of his
desire for academic prestige and to control and manipulate

The Great Depression Of The United Kingdom After The...
Introduction
Throughout the world, the economy plays a role in each and every country. One event can cause a
drastic change within the economy and effect the lives of millions of people. Some examples of
these events include the Great Depression, the Industrial Revolution, the United Kingdom leaving
the European Union (Brexit), and many more. The question is; how do people react during times
when the economic status is fluctuating in the world? Therefore, this leads to my proposal: I
suggest researchers conduct a study to see how people react to performance levels of the economy
by turning to religion as their solution.
Brief Literature Review
People Seeking Religion
During times when a country is economically growing, people are less likely to engage with
religious affiliates or engage religious practices/traditions. Jochen Hirschile proposes that during
economic growth, people do the opposite of what Max Webersays about building traits and values
(Secularization Of Consciousness ). Economic Growth actually causes people to have a decline in
traits and values, which ultimately concludes that there is a decrease in religious practices among
people. To support Hirschile, Benjamin Friedman also discusses how economic growth can cause
people to become consequently less moral (The Moral Consequences). On the other hand, people
tend to become more religious during times of economic distress and uncertainty. Simon Metcalfe
and Reginald Harris conducted a study on how the

Analysis Of The Book Coretta The Story Of Coretta...
Summary of the Text: The biography of Coretta: The Story of Coretta Scott King, was the first
biography made depicting Coretta s life, goals, and success. The book was written by a close
friend of hers whose name is Octavia Vivian. The story tells how Coretta, as a young woman,
had grown up in Alabama. She later went to Antioch College, and later found out that she, as a
colored young woman, would not be allowed to teach, mix, or mingle with the whites in the state
of Ohio. She later explored a musical career in Boston where she was to meet her future husband
Martin Luther King, Jr (Vivian). Coretta was born to her parents, whose names were Bernice
McMurry and Obadiah Scott, and grew up and was raised on her parent s farm located in
Heiberger, Alabama. Since she grew up during the time and era of segregation, she, as a child,
attended a one room school house and later graduated from Lincoln Normal School from a town
close by called Marion, Alabama. Vivian also mentions that Coretta s mother was a school bus
driver for all the colored children to be able to attend that particular school (Vivian). Later in the
1940s, Coretta attended Antioch College, located in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She studied music
education and sang in the school choirs and the local churches. In her senior year she went through
the issue of not being able to teach since Yellow Springs would not allow her to interact and mix,
as a colored woman and teacher, with the whites at their schools. Higher

The Role Of Media And Its Impact On Emergency Management
Media s Role in Disasters
The following is a research paper on the role of the media in disasters. This paper will highlight
the various types of media and their impact on emergency management today. It will compare and
contrast the negative and positive roles the media plays in a disaster. It will then examine the
positive and negative roles the media plays in disasters and how this is relevant to emergency
management. The concluding section of the paper will highlight the various types of media and
their impact on emergency management today.
Positive Roles the Media Plays in A Disaster Communication is a core component of disaster

During a disaster, the media helps in alerting and communicating evacuation procedures for
individuals in the disaster zone. They also help in updating the public as the relief and evacuation
process progresses. Information regarding available disaster relief facilities and the needs of the
victims can be conveyed through the media (Ghassabi Firoozeh, 2015). After the disaster,
encouraging humanitarian aids from people, organizations and Non governmental organizations
can be performed by the media. They could also follow up the rebuilding process, supervise the
budget spending in the disaster area and help to identify the weaknesses of the disaster management
process in an effort to prevent or better handle future disasters (Ghassabi Firoozeh, 2015).
In most cases, the news media provides an important disaster management public service, using
platforms like broadcasting alerts, warnings, and advisories. The media can also provide
information to decision makers in the event of an emergency (FEMA, 1999). Government agencies
may also rely on the media to supply information and direction to the affected public, yet
withholding counterproductive information, and to stimulate volunteerism and donations from the
public (FEMA, 1999). Crowdsourcing social media applications, offer a powerful capability for

The state of Virginia, a few miles away from the city of Richmond, there lived a young man
named Xander J. Carter who was about to move out of his parents house. His family lived in
Washington DC. and he was planning to move to Richmond. He was moving to Richmond to start
his own life by himself and to meet up with some old friends. He had saved up enough money
from working two part time jobs at Mcdonald s and Wal mart, so he could rent a small apartment.
He also made sure that he would have some money left over to last him a month. Soon after arriving
to Richmond he met up with one of his friends, named George, who helped him move into his new
apartment. The apartment had one bedroom that had a bathroom that was connected to both the
bedroom and the hallway. It also had a kitchen that was connected to his living room. The apartment
was located at the end of the apartment compilation on the second floor. The entrance to the
apartment led into the living room which meant that the bedroom was located all the way in the
back. When they arrived at the apartment they started to move all of Xander s boxes into the living
room and from there they unpacked everything. Unfortunately Xander s furniture wasn t going to

The Mystery Of Liars By Nancy Farmer
Ever since we were young we were shunned away from telling lies and were taught that it was
wrong. Why is it that lying was immoral, but then as we grow up we drift away from that lesson?
Many can say that we are cowards who hide behind our lies. Today there exist a white lie which
states that you are telling a lieto help someone. Why do we teach our kids that lying is bad when
adults lie all the time? In the quote Nancy Farmer compares the liars to rats who are cowards
that hides and runs around in dark places because looking at the word lying it can gives off a
vibe of a dark and lonely place. Just like rats who runs and hides in dark places, liars are basically
hiding behind the shadows and living alone in their lie. From the quote I agree and disagree
with the quote, where I agreed with the quote that liars are basically rats who hides and run from
the truth, they don t care if it s unpleasant to others and see lying as an escape route from trouble.
Where I disagree is they can t be called cowards because they might be telling a white lie and
instead of being unpleasant, it can actually help the person that is receiving the lie.
Getting told a lie is a very unpleasant feeling for some while for others. They have a stronger
mentality and can withstand being told a lie. Personally in my opinion, being told a lie makes one
feel as if they can t trust the person anymore due to the fact that they are hiding something. For the
person receiving the lie it is much more

Serious Case Reviews in Childcare Sector
Unit 25Understand how to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Children and Young People
Outcome 1.4
Explain when and why inquiries and serious case reviews are required and how the sharing of the
findings informs practice.
Serious Case Reviews (SCR s) are undertaken when a child dies (including death by suspected
suicide), by a local authority (and more often than not by the Local Children s Safeguarding
Board) if abuse or neglect is known or suspected to be a factor in the death. SCR s are not enquiries
into how a child died or who was responsible; that is a matter for the Coroner s and Criminal
Courts to determine. Instead the purpose of Serious Case Reviews is to:
Establish whether there are lessons to be learned from the case ... Show more content on

The inquiry, chaired by Lord Laming, found massive failings on the part of as many as twelve
agencies with a role to play in protecting children. The findings led to recommendations for a
radical reform of services, particularly in the areas of better joined up working and information
sharing.
Following this, several programmes and frameworks were later implemented into all
establishments that worked with children, and these included Every Child Matters services,
planned around children s and young people s needs and the improvement of the five key
outcomes which contribute to their well being: be healthy, stay safe, enjoy achieve, make a
positive contribution and achieve economic well being. There was also the implementation of the
Common Assessment Framework (CAF) system which enables multi agencies to access and add
information about a child s needs. The CAF is used at the earliest opportunity when it is
highlighted that a baby, child or young person may need help in their lives in order to progress. It
is used when there is concern about a child, or agencies have recognised a child has additional
needs, that require further exploration and a multi agency response. The assessment provides
further information and understanding of the child s circumstances.
Another more recently publicised incident, included the review into Little Teds nursery whereby a

The Sniper In Three Day Road
There are many ways of thinking of military snipers. They can be compared to predators in the
wild, a skillful killing machine that kills out of necessity and has the respect of their companions.
Snipers can also be thought of as prey. They are given a challenging task that requires skill to
elude the enemy and often preys upon their mental toughness. In Boyden s book Three Day Road
the author uses many passages to compare the role of a sniperto the role of both predator and prey
in the wilderness. These comparisons help the reader relate to the experiences of two indigenous
boyhood friends, Elijah and Xavier as snipers in World War 1. Instead of shooting caribou back
home in Canada as boys, they are now shooting German soldiers in the trenches... Show more

He is not so emotionally capable of taking a human life. He uses his experiences as a hunter to
cope with taking his first life as a sniper. He tells Elijah its easier for me to picture soldiers with
antlers on their heads (115). He uses his experiences killing caribou to cope with the stress of
killing enemy soldiers. As a sniper you must be focused on your target and the task at hand.
There is no time for second thoughts or to let your mind wonder. Xavier is not as focused as
Elijah. When Elijah fires a shot across to the Hun sniper, Xavier jumped the concussion makes
me jump a little, even though I am ready for it (118). This shows Xavier is more mentally on
edge. It shows his lack of confidence in his skills. This is reflected in his thoughts after they both
fire at the German sniper at the end of the chapter. Elijah s shot, and Xavier s bullet trailing a
ways behind, the Hun sniper never fired back. Xavier knew Elijah killed him. I can tell he is still
worried about himself being and accepting his role as a sniper. I wonder about myself, though (118).
As a sniper, you can either feel you are the predator or the prey. One mistake and you can give
away your position and you would not make it home. In the book Three Day Road by Joseph
Boyden, Xavier and Elijah find themselves as snipers in WW1. Xavier struggles emotionally with
his role as a killer. This stress preys on his emotions and makes

Riflescope Research Paper
Before selecting a riflescope you must have it clear in your mind what the main purpose of the
scope is. Many people own more than one scope to handle the various uses to which their rifle may
be put. For example, you would not necessarily use the same riflescope for target shooting as you
would hunting moving big game.
Even if you have unlimited funds to buy the best, a high magnification target scope will not be good
for hunting small game that might be moving fast. First and foremost the scope brings the target
closer, enabling you to shoot more accurately but not to easily follow moving objects. A good
scope will also gather as much light as possible in order to offer good visibility of the target under
variable lighting conditions, and enable a hunter for example, to shoot accurately for as many hours

The Riflescope Reticule
You are offered a good range of reticule options these days, so check these out when selecting a
riflescope and choose one that suits you best. Not all reticules are the same for the way you sight,
and you might find a difference in accuracy between reticules.
5. Eye Relief
Eye relief is important for high powered rifles, and is the distance you can keep the scope away
from your eye and still maintain a full field of view. High powered rifles can have a hard recoil, or
kick, and a good eye relief can protect your eyes from recoil damage. Check whether or not the eye
lens has a soft covering to further protect your eye.
6. Riflescope Adjustments
When selecting a riflescope, check out the adjustments that are available. Windage and elevation
adjustments should preferably offer an audible click for each step so you don t have to take your
eye off the scope for a visual. A reasonably good riflescope should offer at least Вј M.O.A. (Minute
Of Adjustment) which means Вј inch adjustment for each 100 yards. This translates proportionately
at other distances, so it is equal to ВЅ inch at 200 yards and 1/8 inch at 50 yards.

Mark Twain s The Racism Of His Time
In response to the racism of his time, Mark Twain uses The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to
contend that racism is an artificial, manufactured product of civilization that supplants the
ingrained, human resistance to injustices like racism. To substantiate this point, Twain
interweaves the reoccurring motifs of the instinctive feeling of sickness, the effects of a
civilized upbringing, and the presence of romanticism into the story. Throughout the book, the
titular protagonist, Huckleberry Finn, has a penchant for feeling sick. Huckleberry feels sick
when he sees his father, when he feels bad for a runaway slave, when he sees brutal violence,
when sees slaves being sold off, when he sees people getting tarred and feathered, and when he
sees people about to capture a runaway slave. The common thread in the many situations is the
perceived injustice or wrongness by Huckleberry. The initial incident that defines the mold is
Huckleberry s encounter with his father, and Huckleberry describing his father as somebody to
make a body sick (Twain 14). Huckleberry s unnamed father is prone to violence, drunkenness,
and other less than positive activities. This initial juxtaposition of something wrong and
Huckleberry s feeling sick later becomes characteristic in the book. After this, Twain weaves this
signal for negativity with examples of racism and other wrongs. Huckleberry feels sick after seeing
a group of men kill some boys in a family feud. This, with Huckleberry s previous

Rain Or Snow By Thomas C. Frost

Rain or Shine
Weather was used as a literary technique throughout the novel of Thomas C. Foster. It is not yet
explained until the ninth chapter titled Its More Than Just Rain or Snow . He begins with a very
common line among stories; It was a dark and stormy night. This ensures the same response from
all readers. Rain can be used to add dramatic effects to a scene which is why we all have the same
negative reaction to the phrase. The main idea Foster is trying to explain is that rain never means
rain. We sense that rain is always to be associated with negative feelings and or outcomes. Foster
explains that there is much more to it.
Rain can be used as a way to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would be the lesser side of snows purpose to literature. It can also be used as a source of hope.
Snow actual can be useful if you are to bury yourself in it. It works as an insulator which can be
used to give a positive vibe by the written scenes involving it.
We have covered rain and snow. There s one that has been left out; fog. So far we have been
blessed with both rain and snow having negative and positive reflections on the scene. That is
not the case with this one. Fog is used to express uncertainty. The thicker the fog the less you can
see literally but in a figurative way an author can use it to show a tough decision needing to be
made by a character or an undetermined future or path. It can spark fear in the eyes of those
surrounded by it. We, being human, re scared of the unknown. Fog is the perfect way to display
this lack of knowledge through the use of weather. It blocks the light. We know that all things bad
lie within darkness but the problem is that we do not know what specifically is within it. This
gives the author a chance to direct the story in a new direction. It is an escape route in a way.
Authors can use fog to divert the characters in a different direction which results in an overall
change of the plot.
There s more to weather than just cloudy days. The sun can be used to describe a sort of
happiness given off by a character. It can be used to show a positive take on an altered path. You

Total Domination Hannah Arendt Summary
Hannah Arendt, the author of The Origins of Totalitarianism, talks about totalitarianism and what it
looked like. She describes how the Nazi s ran their government by dehumanizing an individual,
group and how they took control over the masses in Germany. In this piece of work, the final
chapter Total Domination , also contributes to what it means to be under the rule of a totalitarian
government. She goes on about how total domination can be achieved if every person can be
reduced to a never changing identity of reactions (Hannah Arendt s Total Domination ). Recently,
eastern countries have had revolutions because of totalitarian style governments doing whatever
they please. Two recent revolutions from Syria and Libyahave shown that these types of
governments will not be tolerated. Even Egypthas had its fair share of trouble as well. Hannah
Arendt would have applauded the recent revolutions in Syria and Libya because in Libya it
began when a human rights lawyer was arrested, both were done to fight for political change, and
in Syria it was also done for a better economy. Arendt s idea of total domination cannot be seen in
Hosni Mubarak s rule over Egypt.
The human rights lawyer Fethi Tarbel, was arrested and sparked the uproar that caused the call
of removal for Muammar Gaddafi. In Libya, the government had taken political prisoners and
people were especially unhappy about this one. Fethi Tarbel was the coordinator of one of the
few independent organizations in Libya a group of families of victims of the Abu Salim prison
massacre, where more than 1,200 political prisoners were killed by security forces in 1996
(thenational.ae). This set people off because Mr. Senussi tried to persuade Mr. Tarbel to give up the
cause of the Abu Salim victim s families (thenational.ae). People were not happy because they had
suffered a tragedy like that and were receiving help, but then the government comes and wanted to
shut it down. The families then gathered outside to protest the injustice that happened to Mr.
Tarbel. The actions the people took would have made Arendt proud because they were justified and
meant to make change happen. With this, people saw this as an opportunity and said, Benghazi

Symbolism In Hatchet By Gary Paulsen
In the book hatchet there is a main theme, the theme is to symbolize survival in a harsh place. I
think this is the main theme because there is significant textual evidence Brian survives for
about 54 days. This is also shown when Brian tries and gets the medical kit inside the plane. So
basically the Symbolism of this book is to survive. Also, he uses his hatchet in some parts of the
book to make and build his fort. How would you react if you were in his situation? Would you be
in a position to survive?
In one of the scenes in Hatchet Gary Paulsen uses repetition. In one of the scenes of the book
Bryan thought to himself I am rich, rich with food now, just rich... He described the berries in
the book as Sweet and not as distasteful as the gut cherries. One effect of this is to show how
grateful Bryan is to find food and to show how desperate he was. Bryan acts like he has just found

Success Stories
The sustainability reporting concept may still be new to a certain extent in the US. By contrast,
stakeholders have always demanded more transparency on financial reporting. Many countries in
Europe, Africa, and Asia have successfully adopted sustainability reporting as part of their corporate
governance. Interestingly, the US has lagged in fully embracing it. Companies that have opted to
integrate sustainability reporting have a distinct competitive advantage over those that only
disclose its financial position. Overtime, sustainability reporting contributes to the reduction of
liabilities, improves business performance, and adds value to society in general.
Some companies may think that sustainability reporting could have a negative impact in their
business. However, many businesses around the world are looking at it in the opposite manner. An

Negative Effects Of Pesticide
Pesticide is a chemical widely used around the world for many different reasons. Being a highly
toxic chemical, pesticide has been found to be particularly harmful to children s health. Because
children s immune systems are not as developed as that of an adult, their susceptibility to
developing health issues from exposure to the toxic chemical is much greater. This is due to the
fact that children s bodies lack the enzyme that allows them to detoxify and deactivate the chemical
from their bodies (Ding and Bao, 2013). In turn, pesticidemay have adverse effects on the

Exposure to pesticide is one example of an improper condition for early child development. In some
cases, exposure to pesticide may impair lung functioning and respiratory health. Interested in this
phenomenon, Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi (2015) conducted a study to
analyze to effects of early life exposure to toxic chemical, specifically organophosphate pesticide, on
the respiratory system. In order to evaluate the repercussion of pesticide exposure, the researchers
had to conduct a longitudinal study on children from birth and reanalyzed them at age five and
seven through a questionnaire. From this, researchers were able to disclose that exposure to
pesticide is linked to higher risk of asthma and other breathing problems, for instance wheezing,
coughing, and shortness of breath (Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi, 2015).
Children are more susceptible to these toxic chemicals due to lung development during this age.
With exposure to pesticide, the lethal chemical makeup of pesticide may interfere with the lung s
development, thus leading to mutations or abnormalities. Furthermore, childhood is also a crucial
period for brain development and functioning. Any impairments to the brain at this age may cause
lasting effects that will extend into adolescence and adulthood. Therefore, excessive exposure to
pesticide may disturb the cognitive functioning of children

Book Of Job Religion
The Book of Job, attempts to address the question: why do bad things happen to good people?
This story of pious pessimism revolves around Job, a righteous man who is tested as the result of
a wager between God and Satan, in which everything is taken from him. Satan questions whether,
if all of Job s riches and children are taken away from him, will he turn upon his Creator. As one
known to be a righteous man and Gods faithful servant, Job initially proclaims his unwavering
faith in his God, regardless of his circumstances. Even though Job is stripped of everything he
holds dear, he nonetheless holds firm to his faith throughout the ordeals that takes place,
confirming his faithful nature and revealing him to be a worthy follower of God. Despite being
tested, Job holds fast to his integrity. The Job tradition, as exemplified in the folk tradition found
in chapters 1 2, serves as a model of accepting both the good and bad times in our lives, while
remaining faithful to God even though things may not be in line with our desires. From this

is clear that God is ultimately in charge of the outcome. When things are going the way one may

benevolent God is in charge. There is an implicit message conveyed through this narrative:
However, when things take a sudden turn for the worse, it is during such difficult and perplexing

The piston then moved down.
The see saw beam was moved up and down by the movement of the piston (a vertical movement).
The beam attached to the see saw and the wheel by a set of cogs can move.
The cogs turn the vertical movement of the beam into a horizontal movement.
The steam engine can work machines that need vertical and horizontal movement.
James Watt had to entrepreneurs to help him with his steam engine invention John Roebuck was his

with James Watt called Boulton and Watt, which lasted nearly 25 years. In 1800 Richard Trevithick
invented a high pressure steam engine these engines were smaller and lighter than the previous

Steam engines were used as transport engines in trains (locomotives) and canals. This was so it

  • 2. The Wannabes In The Canterbury Tales The Wannabes As members of the working class, the guildsmen s ultimate desire is to belong to the noble class. Chaucer treats the guildsmen as a group of craftsmen and gives them no individual importance; while they journey on the pilgrimage, they only appear in the prologue and do not tell a tale of their own. The guildsmen and their wives are financially well off, wear fine clothes and seem obsessed with their own self importance. To show off their money, they bring a cook along on the pilgrimage. Mentioned in the prologue as well, the cook appears to be a repulsive character that makes simple meals. Chaucer the pilgrim thinks highly of the guildsmen, but Chaucer the poet uses satire to show that money and appearance cannot buy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To flaunt their riches, they hire a cook to travel on the pilgrimage. The only other pilgrim to bring along a servant is the Knight, who is one of the oldest members of the nobility. The cook made simple, not fancy meals, as the narrator explains, For boiling chicken with a marrow bone, / Sharp flavouring powder and a spice for savour. The cook is described as repulsive and drunk all the time. He could distinguish London ale by flavour and he had an ulcer on his knee. Here, Chaucer the poet reveals how unappetizing and unsanitary it is to think that one s food is being prepared by someone with a puss oozing sore on his leg. • 3. Descriptive Memory When there s a memory you can t forget it s either because it was so pleasant and brought happiness while it was happening, so you remember that specific moment and enjoy the good memories of it and smile. Or, you can t forget it simply because it was such a bad experience that you hold on to the memory to hope to never come across something similar. I wouldn t say that my first job is unforgettable because of the joy it brought to me; sure it brought me some financial freedom and independence. But it s easier to remember due to the sacrifices I had to make as a sophomore in high school. Yes, I was a Cicis Pizza employee. Do you ever drive down the street and see someone holding up a big sign stating some type of promotion? Of course you see them, that s the point as to why they are doing it, to catch your attention. What would catch my attention more was how hot, musty and sticky that person must be, holding that sign up under this powerfully, blazing, draining Miami sun. Well I never thought that at one point, I would be holding a large Cicis Pizza buffet sign under those sizzling circumstances. Not to mention our uniform was a black t shirt, black Dickies, black sneakers, and a black hat. Dripping in sweat my first hour of being clocked in, with some type of outdoor odorencarved in my uniform, and already feeling a little tired with an uneven sunburn. How was I going to pull through the rest of my shift? Was I wrong for already disliking my job only being an hour in? Every day as a Cicis Pizza employee that s what my first hour consisted of, trying to get more people to come dine inn our restaurant. My boss made it clear that if I had to hold my sign and jump up and down, shout out Cici s Pizza!! Come have lunch here , throw my sign around, or twirl it to get more people to look, that s what I had to do. Whatever it was I had to ensure that the amount of customers coming in today was greater than yesterdays. At times, I would even gather a group of my friends or family and tell them to go, and tell them to bring along some of their friends to. I would even comment to them how I would give them a good pricing deal, or how we could even create and personalize their own flavorful pizza.Whether it was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The willingness and boom of passion are evidently shared, witnessed, or undergone a tragic set of events. New ideas that may help improve or reduce disparities in future programs can begin by concentrating on and expanding educational resources. For instance, a program that holds educational sessions on a monthly base, targeting communities, informing families of available resources and assisting with the application process. • 5. Work Life Balance Is Dead By Isabel Rimanoczy Summary Ms. Isabel Rimanoczy made great points in this article. Though some may view her as a work body, she and I share a mutual understanding when it comes to work life balance. Ms. Rimanoczy is not buying the idea that there is some sort of balance between the two aspects of our lives. Work life balance is dead and it may be a good thing (Rimanoczy, 2015). I agree with her statement because if anyone takes the time to think about it, they will soon come to terms with the idea that it really becomes impossible to separate work and personal life. Some of us grow up with moral values, standards, and familytraditions carried on through religious beliefs. When we go to work we will bring along our character because our personal life defines us as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I also contribute the small successes that I have had to being hard working and passionate. Hard work and passion are two things that were fostered on my family s farm. Innovation and creativity linked together motivate both employee and management and create an environment that leads to invention and development of products, processes, and new managerial ideas (Ford, 2000). Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, A Theory of Human Motivation . His hypothesis stated that within every human being there exists a hierarchy of five needs. These needs are physiological: hunger, thirst and shelter; safety: security and protection from physical and emotional harm; social: affection, acceptance and friendship; esteem: self respect, recognition, autonomy, and achievement; and self actualization: the drive to grow and become something, achieving potential and self fulfillment (Maslow, 1954). Maslow is still relevant to managers today. In order to motivate someone a manager must understand what level of hierarchy the person is on and focus on satisfying that level and those above it. The manager must also account for an individual s intensity, direction and persistence since this also affects how a person attains their goals (Robbins Judge, 2007). • 18. Analysis Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly One of the most popular formats for literature is a hero faced with seemingly insurmountable struggles who is able to overcome these obstacles and live happily ever after . However, some of the most famous books in literature have an extremely different structure to their stories. These books center on characters of questionable moral integrity, who through their own poor decisions bring about their own misery and often ultimate demise. When examined this theme of self destruction can be seen in many of what are considered the greatest books in western civilization. One of the books where this theme can be seen is in the popular horror story Frankenstein written in 1816 by Mary Shelly. Another place this can be seen is in many of the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, especially in his physiological thrillers. An additional place this can be seen is in the play written in 1890 by Henrik Ibsencalled Hedda Gabler. In all of these stories it is the main characters own choices that lead to the destruction of their happiness. Frankenstein is one of the most famous classic horror stories in today s culture, having been retold and reimagined countless times. However, when one reads the original book by Mary Shelly, Frankenstein may be seen as not quite the sympathetic character some more recent renditions lead one to believe. The book indicates that the main reason Frankenstein is lead to create his monster is because of his desire for academic prestige and to control and manipulate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One event can cause a drastic change within the economy and effect the lives of millions of people. Some examples of these events include the Great Depression, the Industrial Revolution, the United Kingdom leaving the European Union (Brexit), and many more. The question is; how do people react during times when the economic status is fluctuating in the world? Therefore, this leads to my proposal: I suggest researchers conduct a study to see how people react to performance levels of the economy by turning to religion as their solution. Brief Literature Review People Seeking Religion During times when a country is economically growing, people are less likely to engage with religious affiliates or engage religious practices/traditions. Jochen Hirschile proposes that during economic growth, people do the opposite of what Max Webersays about building traits and values (Secularization Of Consciousness ). Economic Growth actually causes people to have a decline in traits and values, which ultimately concludes that there is a decrease in religious practices among people. To support Hirschile, Benjamin Friedman also discusses how economic growth can cause people to become consequently less moral (The Moral Consequences). On the other hand, people tend to become more religious during times of economic distress and uncertainty. Simon Metcalfe and Reginald Harris conducted a study on how the ... Today there exist a white lie which states that you are telling a lieto help someone. Why do we teach our kids that lying is bad when adults lie all the time? In the quote Nancy Farmer compares the liars to rats who are cowards that hides and runs around in dark places because looking at the word lying it can gives off a vibe of a dark and lonely place. Just like rats who runs and hides in dark places, liars are basically hiding behind the shadows and living alone in their lie. From the quote I agree and disagree with the quote, where I agreed with the quote that liars are basically rats who hides and run from the truth, they don t care if it s unpleasant to others and see lying as an escape route from trouble. Where I disagree is they can t be called cowards because they might be telling a white lie and instead of being unpleasant, it can actually help the person that is receiving the lie. Getting told a lie is a very unpleasant feeling for some while for others. They have a stronger mentality and can withstand being told a lie. Government Drones The thought of government drones buzzing overhead and constantly monitoring the activities of law abiding citizens runs contrary to the notion of what it means to live in a free society says senator Charles Grassley on a topic that is in very high controversy (Quattlebaum1).Having the sanctity of our own privacyin households and backyards is an entitlement that we all are gifted with, but many people are having that privacy tarnished with a new creation sweeping the country Drones. Domestic use of drones is raising concerns about privacy and fourth amendment violations in many states and cities. Many people own more than one scope to handle the various uses to which their rifle may be put. For example, you would not necessarily use the same riflescope for target shooting as you would hunting moving big game. Even if you have unlimited funds to buy the best, a high magnification target scope will not be good for hunting small game that might be moving fast. First and foremost the scope brings the target closer, enabling you to shoot more accurately but not to easily follow moving objects. A good scope will also gather as much light as possible in order to offer good visibility of the target under variable lighting conditions, and enable a hunter for example, to shoot accurately for as many hours in the ... Eye Relief Eye relief is important for high powered rifles, and is the distance you can keep the scope away from your eye and still maintain a full field of view. High powered rifles can have a hard recoil, or kick, and a good eye relief can protect your eyes from recoil damage. Check whether or not the eye lens has a soft covering to further protect your eye. 6. Riflescope Adjustments When selecting a riflescope, check out the adjustments that are available. Windage and elevation adjustments should preferably offer an audible click for each step so you don t have to take your eye off the scope for a visual. A reasonably good riflescope should offer at least Вј M.O.A. (Minute Of Adjustment) which means Вј inch adjustment for each 100 yards. • 33. Mark Twain s The Racism Of His Time In response to the racism of his time, Mark Twain uses The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to contend that racism is an artificial, manufactured product of civilization that supplants the ingrained, human resistance to injustices like racism. To substantiate this point, Twain interweaves the reoccurring motifs of the instinctive feeling of sickness, the effects of a civilized upbringing, and the presence of romanticism into the story. Throughout the book, the titular protagonist, Huckleberry Finn, has a penchant for feeling sick. Huckleberry feels sick when he sees his father, when he feels bad for a runaway slave, when he sees brutal violence, when sees slaves being sold off, when he sees people getting tarred and feathered, and when he sees people about to capture a runaway slave. The common thread in the many situations is the perceived injustice or wrongness by Huckleberry. The initial incident that defines the mold is Huckleberry s encounter with his father, and Huckleberry describing his father as somebody to make a body sick (Twain 14). Huckleberry s unnamed father is prone to violence, drunkenness, and other less than positive activities. This initial juxtaposition of something wrong and Huckleberry s feeling sick later becomes characteristic in the book. After this, Twain weaves this signal for negativity with examples of racism and other wrongs. Huckleberry feels sick after seeing a group of men kill some boys in a family feud. This, with Huckleberry s previous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Rain Or Snow By Thomas C. Frost Hanna Myetich Mrs. Smith AP Eng. Lit. Period 3 September 20, 2017 Rain or Shine Weather was used as a literary technique throughout the novel of Thomas C. Foster. It is not yet explained until the ninth chapter titled Its More Than Just Rain or Snow . He begins with a very common line among stories; It was a dark and stormy night. This ensures the same response from all readers. Rain can be used to add dramatic effects to a scene which is why we all have the same negative reaction to the phrase. The main idea Foster is trying to explain is that rain never means rain. We sense that rain is always to be associated with negative feelings and or outcomes. Foster explains that there is much more to it. Rain can be used as a way to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would be the lesser side of snows purpose to literature. It works as an insulator which can be used to give a positive vibe by the written scenes involving it. We have covered rain and snow. There s one that has been left out; fog. So far we have been blessed with both rain and snow having negative and positive reflections on the scene. That is not the case with this one. Fog is used to express uncertainty. The thicker the fog the less you can see literally but in a figurative way an author can use it to show a tough decision needing to be made by a character or an undetermined future or path. It can spark fear in the eyes of those surrounded by it. We, being human, re scared of the unknown. Fog is the perfect way to display this lack of knowledge through the use of weather. It blocks the light. We know that all things bad lie within darkness but the problem is that we do not know what specifically is within it. This gives the author a chance to direct the story in a new direction. It is an escape route in a way. Authors can use fog to divert the characters in a different direction which results in an overall change of the plot. There s more to weather than just cloudy days. • 35. Total Domination Hannah Arendt Summary Hannah Arendt, the author of The Origins of Totalitarianism, talks about totalitarianism and what it looked like. She describes how the Nazi s ran their government by dehumanizing an individual, group and how they took control over the masses in Germany. In this piece of work, the final chapter Total Domination , also contributes to what it means to be under the rule of a totalitarian government. She goes on about how total domination can be achieved if every person can be reduced to a never changing identity of reactions (Hannah Arendt s Total Domination ). Recently, eastern countries have had revolutions because of totalitarian style governments doing whatever they please. Two recent revolutions from Syria and Libyahave shown that these types of governments will not be tolerated. Even Egypthas had its fair share of trouble as well. Hannah Arendt would have applauded the recent revolutions in Syria and Libya because in Libya it began when a human rights lawyer was arrested, both were done to fight for political change, and in Syria it was also done for a better economy. Arendt s idea of total domination cannot be seen in Hosni Mubarak s rule over Egypt. The human rights lawyer Fethi Tarbel, was arrested and sparked the uproar that caused the call of removal for Muammar Gaddafi. In Libya, the government had taken political prisoners and people were especially unhappy about this one. Fethi Tarbel was the coordinator of one of the few independent organizations in Libya a group of families of victims of the Abu Salim prison massacre, where more than 1,200 political prisoners were killed by security forces in 1996 (thenational.ae). This set people off because Mr. Senussi tried to persuade Mr. Tarbel to give up the cause of the Abu Salim victim s families (thenational.ae). People were not happy because they had suffered a tragedy like that and were receiving help, but then the government comes and wanted to shut it down. The families then gathered outside to protest the injustice that happened to Mr. Tarbel. The actions the people took would have made Arendt proud because they were justified and meant to make change happen. With this, people saw this as an opportunity and said, Benghazi wake up, this ... I think this is the main theme because there is significant textual evidence Brian survives for about 54 days. This is also shown when Brian tries and gets the medical kit inside the plane. So basically the Symbolism of this book is to survive. Also, he uses his hatchet in some parts of the book to make and build his fort. How would you react if you were in his situation? Would you be in a position to survive? In one of the scenes in Hatchet Gary Paulsen uses repetition. In one of the scenes of the book Bryan thought to himself I am rich, rich with food now, just rich... He described the berries in the book as Sweet and not as distasteful as the gut cherries. One effect of this is to show how grateful Bryan is to find food and to show how desperate he was. Bryan acts like he has just found a gold mine when he tastes the rich berries. Being a highly toxic chemical, pesticide has been found to be particularly harmful to children s health. Because children s immune systems are not as developed as that of an adult, their susceptibility to developing health issues from exposure to the toxic chemical is much greater. This is due to the fact that children s bodies lack the enzyme that allows them to detoxify and deactivate the chemical from their bodies (Ding and Bao, 2013). Interested in this phenomenon, Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi (2015) conducted a study to analyze to effects of early life exposure to toxic chemical, specifically organophosphate pesticide, on the respiratory system. In order to evaluate the repercussion of pesticide exposure, the researchers had to conduct a longitudinal study on children from birth and reanalyzed them at age five and seven through a questionnaire. From this, researchers were able to disclose that exposure to pesticide is linked to higher risk of asthma and other breathing problems, for instance wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath (Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi, 2015). Children are more susceptible to these toxic chemicals due to lung development during this age. With exposure to pesticide, the lethal chemical makeup of pesticide may interfere with the lung s development, thus leading to mutations or abnormalities. • 42. Book Of Job Religion The Book of Job, attempts to address the question: why do bad things happen to good people? This story of pious pessimism revolves around Job, a righteous man who is tested as the result of a wager between God and Satan, in which everything is taken from him. Satan questions whether, if all of Job s riches and children are taken away from him, will he turn upon his Creator. As one known to be a righteous man and Gods faithful servant, Job initially proclaims his unwavering faith in his God, regardless of his circumstances. Even though Job is stripped of everything he holds dear, he nonetheless holds firm to his faith throughout the ordeals that takes place, confirming his faithful nature and revealing him to be a worthy follower of God. Despite being tested, Job holds fast to his integrity. The Job tradition, as exemplified in the folk tradition found in chapters 1 2, serves as a model of accepting both the good and bad times in our lives, while remaining faithful to God even though things may not be in line with our desires.
