The Monetary Value That Represents All Of The Products...
The monetary value that represents all of the products made in a country is Gross Domestic Product.
This figure affects my life right now because the unemployment in the country can be observed by
looking at the gap between the GDP per capita and the GDP per person. I can use this information
because I am seeking a job. Also, in the future, knowledge of the GDP can be useful because I will
want to know my personal productivity compared to the average which is represented by the GDP per
employed person. Additionally, the Consumer Price Index is a figure that illustrates the inflation of
prices over time. It is determined by the values of the prices of goods that are included in the basket of
goods which has products that consumers usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization are used to predict if inflation will
occur. The industrial production measures how many manufactured goods are produced and the
capacity utilization figure uses this information to create a ratio that determines whether there is a
supply shortage or not. These figures can help me to find out if it is a good time to seek a job in a
particular industry. For instance, right now the capacity utilization rate is at 81.9% in the mining
industry which shows that there is a limited amount of supply, so employment opportunities would be
increased in this field ( Industrial Production ). In the future, I can use this figure to predict if prices
would increase in the field because if there is a limited amount of supply, then prices would increase.
To add, Retail Sales is an economic indicator that shows the comparison of sales in the retail industry
within a few weeks. It is included in the GDP because the retail sales shows the productivity shows
the majority of sales and production in the overall economy. I can use the retail sales figure in my life
because I can see how the prices in retail will change. Also, in the future, I can use retail sales to find
out if retail is a good industry to invest in. Business Inventories and Sales is a figure that contributes to
determining the overall productivity of the economy. This indicator shows the supply

1980s Women s Fashion Research Paper
1980s Women s Fashion
The unique fashion of the 1980s made an impression in its time in such a way that it continues to
make a mark in today s fashion. Historically, each decade comprises a specific style which identifies
the generation. Just by viewing a photograph, one can identify the decade of the persons photographed
just by the fashion being worn. Women s fashion in the 1980s was greatly influenced by an event that
was significant historically, politically, and socially providing popularity of women s fashion through
the lens of one of the most recognizable and admired woman in all time, Princess Diana.
An event that marked the world historically, politically, and socially was the wedding of Diana
Spencer to Charles Prince of Wales in 1981. The televised wedding was seen by over a billion T.V.
viewers worldwide ( Diana, Princess of Wales influence on fashion ). From that moment the princess
became an international figure, photographed and documented wherever she went, and she became a
global fashion icon ( Diana Princess of Wales Influence on Fashion ). As the world continued to

Environmental Problems In Picher Oklahoma
The history of the world seldom includes the impact of human conquest upon the environment.
Human s consistently ravage the land and waters around them taking what is considered useful to
mankind with reckless abandon. This continued mentality leaves the world in a damaged state unfit
for life of any kind. The town of Picher Oklahoma mirrors the legacy of total human consumption at
the cost of the land. The history of the land surrounding Picher Oklahoma is similar to many
throughout the United States. The original land was given to the Quapaw Native American tribe in
1833. The Quapaw were a thriving Mississippi delta tribe suffering displacement first by the Iroquois
then by the United States government. The tribe once boasted a population of 35,000 until a smallpox
outbreak reduced the tribe to a mere 135 people. The reduction in populace ... Show more content on

The process of mining lead and zinc ore produces mine tailings . The mine tailings are better known as
chat. Throughout the years of mining Picher became known for the immense chat piles that
surrounded the landscape, an amazing 70 million tons. Unbeknownst to the community of Picher, the
chat piles contained hazardous materials. The toxins contained in the chat piles consisted of lead, zinc,
cadmium, arsenic, iron and manganese. The people of Picher, unaware of the toxicity, played and
picnicked on these enormous chat piles for years. It did not occur to the people of the area that health
and developmental issues were caused from the chat piles until the Health Department tested 100
children of the mining community for lead. Out of the 100 children tested 43% had elevated levels of
lead in their blood. The EPA declared Picher a Superfund site in 1983. This leads many people to
believe that clean up of the area is possible; however the actions taken by the EPA fall incredibly

By and by, I consider gatherings to be a Web 2.0 kind of use, however I don t see them perceived all

The exceptionally intriguing point I find about the entire Web 2.0 development is that in one specific
viewpoint, it s extremely just the same old thing new. In the 70 s the innovation boffins were urgently
attempting to make tracks in an opposite direction from the centralized server/idiotic terminal

Analysis Of The Boy Died In My Alley
Published first during the decade of the 1990s The Boy Died in My Alley remains a significant poem
of Gwendolyn Brooks as she moves from traditional forms of poetry such as sonnets, ballads to the
most unrestrictive free verse and includes the sad rhythm of the blues. This poem offers an amazing
juxtaposition of dramatic poetic forms, narrative, and lyric (Guth Rico). The story is most often simple
but with the last line, they transcend the restriction of place and cover universal plight. Most often the
characters of the people are memorable only due to fact that they are trying to survive the trials and
tribulations of daily living. For example, in the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley , the author narrates
an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley and the policeman asks her whether she
has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad experiences of black community in the United
States, her poetry is mainly about their plight in the society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem,
The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated
with African American children who live on the street.
Like her other poems, the story of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is very simple, but the
narrator gradually narrows down the incident described in the poem to the general plight of the black
children who live on the street. The poem starts when a policeman informs poet about a black boy
who was shot behind

The Importance Of Copper Abuse In Australia
Copper was the first metal used by man in 7000 BC. They used copper a lot in the bronze ages for
swords. They use copper now in TV wirings, charges and mobile phones. Copper ore is mined both
underground and on the surface. They dig large excavations formed called open pit mines. There are
about .5 oz. of copper in your mobile phone. That s more than all the other metals in your phone and
weighs 15% of your phone.
The biggest mine in Australia is the Olympic dam. It produces 55000 tonnes of copper. The Olympic
dam is in the centre of South Australia, and 550 kilometres in Adelaide.
Australia first discovered copper at Kapunda, South Australia in 1842. Copper is mined in Qld, Nsw,
SA, WA and Tasmania. Copper is only not mined in Vic and Nt. Nsw has the most mines in Australia
but Qld produce more copper because their mines are bigger .Copper is found mainly in the earth s
crust. Australia is one of the world s top 6 producers of copper, Australian mines about 6 billion
dollars worth of copper. Copper is often found in other metals like zinc, lead, gold and silver. ... Show

copper by separating the mineral from the ore. You then mix it with other materials called fluxes. Then
heat it up, after a while it turns into ingots.
Open cut mining
Open cut mining is when the mineral (cooper) is close to the surface. An example of a mine that uses

Looking at Hugh Hefner s Portrait from Various Lenses Essays
Cynthia Freeland argued that art communicates significance but there is no one precise hypothetical
approach that tells us how to best interpret a work of art. Although there are better interpretations of a
piece artwork than others, there is no one way to interpret a single piece of art. The best interpretations
understand the background of the artist while also focusing on the style that the artist uses. The
emotions and ideas that come from looking at a piece of art work can come from the artist s
perspective of that of the viewer. When understanding the expressionist theory we can look to
Freeland s definition: expression theory holds that art communicates something in the realm of
feelings and emotions (Freeland, 155). In a broader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The different expressions all give the same underlying look of envy. The girl sitting on the ottoman is
glaring at the other girls while the two girls on the bed are engaging in conversation while showing
wariness. The woman on the floor is looking longingly at the camera as if she wants to say something
but you do not know what. Tolstoy s belief of an artist s chief job is to express and communicate
emotions to an audience (Freeland, 155) is conveyed when you initially look at the Hugh Hefner
portrait. Every viewer has their own interpretation, but most would argue that when you look at this
portrait you are able to see different expressions on the five characters faces impacting the viewer with
the same experience that Shay got when photographing this image. Tolstoy and Freud both understand
that art can communicate emotions and feelings, while Tolstoy believes that art communicates
conscious emotions and feelings, Freud believes that art communicates unconscious emotions and
feelings.
Interpretations are very diverse and come from all different areas and when we view Hugh Hefner,
photographed by Art Shay, through Freud s perspective, we are filled with emotions that are taken
from past experiences. Freud believed that when we look at a portrait or another art form, it ignites
unconscious feelings ones the artist [or the viewer] might not even admit to having (Freeland, 157).

afternoon we were there, my mom and I went to Trummelbach falls which one of the other tourist at

all these really cool shaped caverns. In order to see the rest of the falls, we had to walk outside down

In recent years the average consumer is often faced with a choice on where to buy their groceries. The
food that we purchase in stores sometimes makes us ask ourselves if the groceries that consumers are

laboratory. The foods that we eat as consumers of the United States are usually created by genetically
modified ingredients while other foods can be classified as organic and not contain any of the harmful
additives and preservatives that consumers are addicted to in food that they consume everyday. Some

goodness and misevaluate the power of situations to bring out our sense of living a moral life, and
why we allow ourselves to cheat. Extracting on the latest scientific discoveries and interviews with
social scientists, spiritual leaders, ex cons, and philosophers, Ethical Wisdom is a helpful and

The Aftermath Of The 2008 Financial Crisis
In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, Congress recognized the need to regulate nonbank
institutions. Many of the financially distressed institutions were not regulated by the same standards
bank holdings were. As a result The Financial Stability Oversight Committee was created under Title I
of the Dobb Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The committee was signed into
law by Barack Obama on July 21, 2010 and serves three primary purposes. One is to authorize and
determine nonbank financial institutions that if under material financial distress or failure, can threaten
the financial stability of the United States. The designated institutions are referred to as systematically
important financial institutions (SIFIs) and are subject to the regulation and supervision of the Federal
Reserve System (Board of Governors). Another purpose of the committee is to promote market
discipline and eliminate the expectation of companies stakeholder s relying on the U.S. government
bailout as safeguard from failure or loss. Last but not least the committee is also expected to
recommend standards and safeguards for U.S. and global financial systems. In the executive summary
of the 2014/15 annual reports, the committee continues focusing on three areas of financial risk: cyber
security, foreign markets and the housing finance reform.

Guise Of Feminism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Guise of Feminism Some authors may not even realize how equality can easily be thrown off and as a
result have a negative effect on books and readers who notice it. We as readers of, tend to not
completely grasp the presence of the anti feminist society. Feminism, or equality of the sexes, can be
seen in Nathaniel Hawthorne s text as he portrays women as innocent, powerless, and non influential
indivuals. Not only does feminism play a role in the painted society of Young Goodman Brown, but
also in countless societies today. The exact meanings of the characters actions, are not completely
understood unless the main focus is kept on this specific lense, feminism. It can help to make the
logical assumption that this is in fact an anti feminist text by understanding the different scenes and
how they are associated with feminism. It is recognizable that most women are lead by what men
choose based upon Faith being viewed as an object, the anti feminist idea dealing with only men
killing off family members and elder men using power over innocent women, and the other women
characters representing significant figures in religious society but characterizing them as unimportant
and even evil in the short story. As previously mentioned, women were almost forced to follow the
religion, choices, and possessed incapabilities unlike men. To start off, Faith, has no choice

Economic Impact On The Real Estate Market Essay
Economic Environment Impact
Interest rates have a major economic impact on the real estate market. Interest rates directly affect
property sales. Residential property realizes the greatest affect as interest rates have a considerable
influence on a homebuyer s capability to purchase a new property. The customer is affected when
there are significant increases or decreases in interest rates. Declining interest rates lower the costs of
obtaining a mortgage; this in turn creates higher demand for homes, and pushes home prices up.
Conversely, high interest rates increase the costs to obtain a mortgage; these increases lower the
demand for homes, which creates a decline in home prices. (Stammers, 2016)
The overall health of the economy has a significant impact on the real estate industry. The economy is
measured using indicators such as the GDP, employment percentages, manufacturing activity, and
price of goods. When these indicators identify a sluggish economy it translate directly to declining
real estate sales. RE/MAX and the customer alike are directly affected by the economy. A slow
economy consists of decreased homes sales while a flourishing economy affords the customer the
opportunity to buy, which relates to an increase in home sales for the realtor. (Amadeo, 2016)
Government policies and subsides have a sizable impact on property price, and demand. The
government can temporarily boost demand with tax credits, deduction and subsidies. From the
customers point of view

Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, And Hinduism
Many religions are practiced throughout the world. The most common ones are l Christianity,
Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Each of these have their own views, preachers and
followers. Every religion is independently known because of its distinguishing holy being and god to
be worshipped. Religions give their followers the particular strategies and rules in which to lead their
lives. These rules and strategies give the distinctive identity to the followers of the particular religion.
The religion assists the followers in improving and making better the sense of the world in which they
are spending their lives. Thus religion gives their followers the particular way and teachings to follow
in order to guide their lives.
In today s multicultural societies there is cold war among people because of religion issues. The way
religions are interpreted and practiced makes for significant changes and distinctions. However it is
also the matter of fact that each religion wants the people of other religions to accept and adopt their
religions because all religions believe that their religion is the greatest religion in the world. Though
all the religions give the specific and distinctive teachings and have the different beliefs and
characteristics, still each religion gives the teachings of humanity and love with the mankind.
Islam is also one of the greatest religions that are being practiced in many parts of the world. Islam has
given the significant identity to its followers

The Reality of Warfare During February 1945, World War II had long begun, affecting millions of
people throughout the entire world. Disease and famine were faced by both civilians and soldiers, and
the casualties were about 80 million. Kurt Vonnegut s Slaughter House Five mostly takes place during
the war, specifically during the time of the infamous Dresden bombing. The main character, Billy
Pilgrim, is an American soldier who lived to tell, and was present during, the bombing. It is through
Billy Pilgrim s personal story that Vonnegut thoroughly reveals the harshness of war and its long term
effects. Typically the reaction people exhibit after hearing about a death is ... Show more content on

He makes the harsh idea that death really is, sound like it s inevitable, and so there is no reason to
mourn. Just like death, war is also harsh. The tone most people have when speaking about war, is the
same tone Billy has regarding deaths. They disregard so many important things that come with war,
the millions of dollars spent, the tragic amount of deaths and most deaths being civilians who are
completely innocent. They speak like if war were inevitable and there was nothing anyone could do
about it. In the novel, Vonnegut gives an example, What he meant, of course, was that there would
always be wars, that they were as easy to stop as glaciers. (Vonnegut 3). Although this is true, it does
not take away from the harsh reality that war really is. What is very ironic is the fact that Billy Pilgrim
s harsh mentality about deaths is so easily noticed, yet people have not yet noticed the harshness that
war really is, and in reality; war and death go hand in hand. Vonnegut uses so it goes in a way to
almost mimic the majority of the population who are so oblivious to what war really is. The entire
point of the book is to bring attention to how harsh war genuinely is, and that is why the words are so
constantly being repeated, so that people make the connection that war brings death, and since death is
harsh, so is war. Today video games about war make millions

Deduction Vs Deductive Reasoning
Induction and deduction are pervasive elements in critical thinking. They are also somewhat
misunderstood terms. Arguments based on experience or observation are best expressed inductively,
while arguments based on laws or rules are best expressed deductively. Most arguments are mainly
inductive. In fact, inductive reasoning usually comes much more naturally to us than deductive
reasoning. Deductive reasoning that is based on a general statement of fact is hard to argue with.
When using this method, you begin with a factual statement that describes a class of things, such as
animals. In deductive inference, we hold a theory and based on it we make a prediction of its
consequences. That is, we predict what the observations should be if the ... Show more content on

Effects Of Salt Water And Water On Ice
Salt water and water effect ice in different ways. Water melts ice, but salt water makes ice melt faster.
The ice cube, which was solid, turned into water because the air temperature is warmer than the ice.
This means that the ice particles gather kinetic energy from the warmer air. The ice particles have
enough energy to break apart (melt)into smaller particle arrangements. The ice cube without salt melts
because the air around is warmer than 32 degrees F, but a salted cube melts faster because when you
add salt it dissolves into the water of the ice cube. Salt water freezes at a lower temperature than the
32 degrees F at which fresh water freezes. This makes the ice with salt on it melt faster. A similar topic

Experiment With The 100 Mit s Sloan School Of Management
Why Everything Is Relative Even When It Shouldn t Be?
Everything is relative based off the decoy effect. The experiment with the 100 MIT s Sloan School of

1. Internet only subscription for $59.00 $16.00
2. Print only subscription for $125.00 zero students
3. Print and Internet subscription for $125.00 84 students
No one selected the decoy option print only. After removing the decoy options only 68 students
choose the internet only options for $59.00 and sales had increased by 16 students. Only 32 students
selected print and internet for $125.00, which was down by 84 students. After, removing the decoy 32

steers us to make comparison and a decoy helps us make a simple relative comparison. My life
experience is when I purchased a vehicle, I knew that I wanted my car payments to be $300.00 a
month or lower. However, I know that I did not want a compact vehicle, after driving a Nissan
Maxima V6 engine and sunroof cloth seats. I realized, I did not want another Nissan due to fuel
ignition issue that had recalls from 2000 2006. It was a red flag they could not get this right. As a
result, I based my decisions on comparison to a Toyota Camry verses Nissan Maxima. The 1999

The Outlook for Girls In Engineering and Mathematics Essay
areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics employers are not getting enough women
(Pozniak). High school girls only represent 17 percent of computer science Advance Placement (AP)
test takers (O Shea). The most significant group of minorities who are behind in earning computer
technology degrees and working in science and mathematical professions are women. Historically,
women s low representation in science and engineering was said to be due in large part of their lack of
ability, interest, or both (Horning 30). However, this is no longer a true fact according to Ward. Some
suggestions to increasing the amount of women in sciences include introducing already present
women faculty as mentors. Over the last three decades, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Xie states that women with children have a much smaller chance to pursue a career in engineering.
These women are less likely to receive a promotion. Gender roles in society demand more of women
in raising children. Differences in marriage and social life can be held responsible for most of the
difficulty that is placed on women in engineering. Interest in science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) is thinning for women as they progress into higher levels. Women in grades 7 12
were surveyed to see if their interest in STEM fields were diminishing. According to Van Leuvan, this
survey showed that there was a decline in interest as these girls progress through high school.
Throughout middle school and junior high a love for mathematics can be developed. However, a loss
of interest is present as soon as girls hit more demanding classes like calculus. Grades will highly
diminished and a fear for comprehension of mathematics in the future will develope. According to the
article Women and Minorities in Engineering a major outlook on success from students is their ability
to understand calculus.
Aside from chemistry and physics, a one year calculus sequence is a prerequisite for many
engineering courses (Frehill). Bonsangue and Drew described calculus as the gateway course . They
found that women who demonstrate good performance and persistence in calculus would likely
succeed in engineering. Moreno and Muller s research corroborated

The Hero s Journey In Monomyth, By Joseph Campbell
The hero is on a constant journey. Throughout the journey, a hero will often be faced with hardship
only to be strengthened and propelled into action. The introduction stresses the importance of the hero
s struggle. The struggle encourages the hero to act courageously and act confidently. By confronting
their hardships, the hero will experience the desired growth from the journey.
The hero also seeks a better way to behave and live. The hero s journey could be described as a
transformation. The life of the hero is affected by its surroundings as the surroundings are affected by
the hero. The hero must persevere through the journey to be a part of a greater change.

Through these tales we are taught that the journey is worth as much as the result. These tales relate
back to the hero and the importance of the journey leading to growth. A hero must have basic qualities
of perseverance and devotion in order to be successful. They should also be open to the transformation
that comes with the journey and not limit themselves to one set way as they search for fullness. These
stories although from different origins share a similar message which illustrates the universal nature of
the hero.
4. Monomyth what is it, why is it important/ relevant? (1 par)
Monomyth is a term coined by Campbell from the author James Joyce. Monomyth describes the series
of events often found in stories that make up the hero s journey. Campbell divided the journey into
three main parts: the departure, initiation and the return. Each part of the journey is further divided
into smaller more detailed sections. The basic structure outlined by Campbell s Monomyth has
become a template used for most stories centered on a hero. Many stories and blockbuster films follow
Campbell s Monomyth. This keeps the monomyth still relevant in story writing and useful in the
analysis of films.

Pierre Bourdieu Research Paper
Framing the Debate: Bourdieu and Foucault
Pierre Bourdieu has constructed his theory on the concept of practice using the metaphor of a game.
He states that practice is a mode of generational meta theory of all forms of practices constituting the
game (Bourdieu, 1977: 72). Individuals enter the game with predetermined interest and act in
conformity to the rules of the game to achieve their desired goals. According to Bourdieu, the rules of
the game are subject to changes based on different social conditions referred as fields (Bourdieu,
2000:183). Habitus, in turn, refers to the schematic concept through which practice is generated.
Practices generate habitus and are shaped by the condition of life in a certain environment. Hence,

Bourdieu (2000:148) notes that habitus is the practical knowledge generated through its agent s
history. Habitus is generated by human living experience at a certain environment where social
relations are produced in interaction with a specific habitat. The special determination of habitus as a
structural orientation is explained in relation to the idea of fields (Bourdieu, 1984). The field and
habitus interact in a two dimensional relationship with the field structuring the habitus, and the habitus
in its turn structuring the perception of the field (Bourdieu, 1988: 784). This shows that there has no
direct influence on the field, but eventually, habitus operates in a dialectic relationship between
structure and the agent. Bourdeau sees the field as a multi dimensional space of positions (Bourdieu
1985: 724) occupied agents who own power in alignment with, what he termed as, their symbolic
capital that is identified in the context of the specific material environment (ibid: 731). This dialectic
relation as noted by Bourdieu (2000:211) between habitus and the probabilities of a social space
provides the space for practice and and thoughts. He points out, one should not say that a historical
event determined a behavior but that it had this determining effect because a habitus capable of being
affected by that event conferred that power upon it (Bourdieu

Importance Of Boys Underachievement In Reading And Writing
Although there is evidence that proves boys underachievement in reading and writing in contrast to
girls , it is important to first note that there are sources that identify boys being less committed to
school than girls, but why is this? A significant aspect is boys attitude to school and examinations.
Weis (1990) effectively argues that the majority of boys are not concerned with excelling in school,
but only with passing. This evidence strongly suggests that boys attitude to education is significantly
lower than girls due to only requiring to pass exams instead of exceeding their limitations and
reaching their full potential. A positive attitude to education is essential to ensure all pupils obtain
higher than satisfactory academic achievements, resulting in a high quality learning experience,
although there are also numerous factors that contribute to boys underachievement in reading and
writing and the ways it can be tackled.
Boys underachievement in reading and writing can be traced to activities within their household. For
example, it is not common that young boys witness their father reading novels instead of newspapers,
yet there is evidence to suggest that young boys are strongly influenced by this. Pickering (1997, p.
49) supports this by expertly stating that, it seems hard to deny that children are affected to some
extent in their learning by the home. As a result, it can be argued that mothers are to blame as they are
the ones reading stories to their

Essay on Fsa Photography During the Great Depression
I glance amusedly at the photo placed before me. The bright and smiling faces of my family stare back
me, their expressions depicting complete happiness. My mind drifted back to the events of the day that
the photo was taken. It was Memorial Day and so, in the spirit of tradition my large extended family
had gathered at the grave of my great grandparents. The day was hot and I had begged my mother to
let me join my friends at the pool. However, my mother had refused. Inconsolable, I spent most of the
day moping about sulkily. The time came for a group picture and so my grandmother arranged us all

Unemployment skyrocketed up to its peak of nearly twenty five percent of the population. Added to
this was the series of dust storms terrorizing the mid west. These storms destroyed most crops and left
farmers destitute and homeless. This resulted in a mass migration of mid western farmers moving west
to areas such as California to find work. These farmers became to be known derogatorily as Okies.
Newly elected President Roosevelt began immediately to put programs into affect, which would halt
the effects of the depression and aid those who were suffering. These programs became known as the
New Deal. The purpose of the New Deal was to provide jobs for the unemployed and offer relief to
the distressed. Programs such as the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and the Works Progress
Administration (WPA) put millions of people to work building roads, dams, and other public works.
One of these government programs was called the Farm Security Administration (FSA). The FSA was
an agency intended to fight rural poverty during a period when the poor agricultural climate and
plunging national economy was causing many rural farmers to leave their farms and homes to find
work. The FSA also hired photographers as part of a public relations campaign. These photographers
documented the lives and conditions of many of these stricken peoples.
The purpose of these photographers was to provide visual evidence that there was

European And Non-European Expansion In The 1500s And 1600s
Europeans had many ambitions throughout the 1500s and 1600s. To achieve their goals, they deferred
to the non European culture. The main question remains: how did the Europeans accommodate
themselves to Non European culture? The European traders and missionaries would accommodate
themselves by integrating into the Non European culture, by adapting their physical appearance, by
referring to the traditional practices, and through the response of the native people wants to European
goods.
For Europe s influence to be successful across the world, they had a guide written by Father Jean de
Brébeuf, called Instructions for The Fathers of Our Society Who Shall Be Sent to The Hurons. In this
small guide, Father Jean, writes instruction for other European members to follow in order to be
successful in their influence in the new world. The thought of being the superior race, followed them
to the new world, so embracing a culture that they thought was low class, was a big change to the
European men. As to the other numerous things which may be unpleasant, they must be endured for
the love of God, without saying anything or appearing to notice them. They did not do anything that
contradicts the Natives belief, as they were trying to convert them to the idealized culture. They were
doing so in a way that the Natives did not realize they were being converted. So, the Europeans
change their normal customs, to gain their trust. In which they accommodate to non European ways.

Internal Medicine Career Research Paper
My choice of internal medicine as a career is based on my experiences through medical school.
Internal medicine allows me to manage patient issues, give treatments, and work with other health
care professionals to treat patients. Internal medicine is a sophisticated career that I would like to be a
part of.
During my first and second years of medical school, I had the opportunity to visit with internists and
sub specialists of medicine, including a pulmonologist and a cardiologist. I was impressed by how the
physicians were able to discuss with patients about what their problems were and how they can move
forward with improving treatment. The physicians also discussed with me about how they integrate
basic sciences with clinical practice, which I was impressed with.
The internal medicine clerkship during my third year of medical school sparked my interest in internal
medicine. I was on an inpatient internal medicine team during my first month of the clerkship.

Explain Why More Time Needs To Be Replaced Between Classes
More Time Needs To Be Added Between Classes Have you ever had to get to class on the other side
of the building, but had to go to the restroom and ended up late? There are many reasons why you
could be late to class.
Many students don t use the restroom and get drinks because they know they will be late, they also
stop at their lockers as least as they can. A lot of students get to class late without even getting a drink,
going to the restroom and stopping at their lockers, they are late because in those short three minutes,
they have to get to one end of the school to the other. Teachers always use the excuse You should have
used the restroom before class. It is nearly impossible to do that without being late to a class. With
three minutes to get a drink, go to the restroom and stop at your locker isn t enough time to be at your
class before the bell. Getting a drink will cause you to be late if there is a long line, and your class isn t

Biological Diversity Found On Earth
Speciation accounts for the remarkable biological diversity found on earth. However, it has been
extremely difficult to conclusively demonstrate in mockingbirds. Remote oceanic islands have long
been recognized as natural models for the study of evolutionary processes involved in diversification
and speciation. Their remoteness and susceptibility to catastrophic disturbances by invasive species
provide opportunities for colonization and divergence of populations through isolation, making islands
fantastic study plots of diversification and speciation. Groups of islands may share a closely similar
geological history and comparable climate, but due to these subtly different, or perhaps distinctly
different, environments, their inhabitants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Problematically, these characteristics are often under selection and can be inappropriate or misleading.
For example, island forms may experience more rapid evolution in response to heightened genetic
drift or natural selection due to small population sizes, lack or absence of interspecific competition,
exploitation of new niches, and other evolutionary possibilities opened by island ecosystems (e.g.
Carlquist 1965, 1974, Lack 1976). These scenarios could potentially explain why so many island
species frequently pose such challenges in taxonomic classification. Another problem in regard to
Galapagos mockingbird classification emerges out of the fact that only one form or species is found
on any single island and the relative contributions of selection and drift to differentiation remain
unclear. My objective is to provide evidence for evolution, specifically macroevolution by speciation
and diversification in Galapagos Mockingbirds, scientifically termed Nesomimus, and articulate the
many limitations at this time in understanding this sequence through the examination morphology.

Technology And Modern Technology
The invention of computers and the thrust of populations into the digital age was a vast, strong, and
immaculagte leap into the future. This aformentioned leap advanced communication from something
trivial to something worldly. With the use of the interweb we can now seize endless forums, messages,
emails, information, and worldwide communication on the whole. When communication first began to
be conceptualized by humans, at its core, it was just the simple act of conveying a message to another
being, using the necessarty means to carry the information with no fear of misunderstanding. The
whole point of communicating a message to someone is to mske sure they know what you mean so
you can further the collective knowledge. The internet was invented and created a whole new way to
communicate to others in a fast, inconsequential, and anonymous way to spread their messages to a
significantly larger amount of people. Businesses, schools, and relationships of all different categories
are withheld with the sentiment of the internet as a backbone to ensure that the relationshiup stays
alive and well. Businesses now check the social media pages of any person that may possibly work at
the company because the internet part of our person is now so integral to who we are, it is who we are.
Relationships and conversation grows stale, tired, and redundant over these technological engines, and
how we really behave face to face with someone is supressed, or sometimes forgotten.

Video Modeling As An Effective Intervention Strategy for...
Introduction According to the U.S. Department of Education, autism is defined as a disorder of neural
development characterized by impaired social interactions and verbal and nonverbal communication.
Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may also display attention deficits, engage in
repetitive behaviors, resist environmental changes, have unusual sensory experiences, and may exhibit
inappropriate behaviors that have adverse impacts on educational performance (Delano, 2007). The
incidence of children identified with ASD has steadily increased and has thus changed the dynamics of
education. Due to the number of children diagnosed with autism dramatically increasing over the last

He also determined that individuals are more likely to imitate the behavior of those they perceive as
competent and similar to themselves. Consistent with Bandura s social learning theory, video
modeling is a versatile intervention that capitalizes on the potency of observational learning and
because most individuals with ASD do not engage in incidental learning to instinctively gather
information from their environment, the principles of the social learning theory successfully contribute
to the effectiveness of video modeling (Aspy Grossman, 2007).
Video modeling is a promising behavioral technique that falls under the category of assistive
technology. It is thought to be a beneficial learning tool because it combines the power of
observational learning, also known as modeling, with the apparent tendency of individuals with ASD
to be particularly responsive to visually cued instruction. Video modeling is a procedure of
videotaping targeted behaviors in order to expand the learner s capability to memorize, imitate, and
generalize or adapt targeted behaviors (Neumann, 2004). Over the last three decades, the research has
shown success when video modeling is used for teaching individuals with ASD a variety of social,
academic, functional, and recently vocational skills. However, little research has been conducted on
using video modeling to teach behavior expectations during whole group learning. The purpose of this
study was to determine the effectiveness

Beethoven And The Piano In The 1800 s
Beethoven and the Piano
During the late 1700 s and early 1800 s, Beethoven was innovating the world of music through
various compositions. In particular, Beethoven s works for piano revolutionized and innovated the
piano and its performance practices. His compositional works have always been considered to be
some of the best works published, but not everyone realizes just how pivotal his work was in this point
in music history. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany on December 16th, 1770 to his
father, Johann van Beethoven, and mother, Maria Magdalena Keverich. He lived in Bonn for about 22
years then moved to Vienna after his father passed away due to alcohol misuse. In Vienna, he was a
well known German pianist and composer. His compositional works were well known for broadening
the usage of instrumentation and expanding the boundaries for performance. Beethoven began to
struggle during the later years of his life due to his deafness. He used his emotions to give meaning to
his music, and this music became to be known as some of his most important works. ... Show more

  • 6. Analysis Of The Boy Died In My Alley Published first during the decade of the 1990s The Boy Died in My Alley remains a significant poem of Gwendolyn Brooks as she moves from traditional forms of poetry such as sonnets, ballads to the most unrestrictive free verse and includes the sad rhythm of the blues. This poem offers an amazing juxtaposition of dramatic poetic forms, narrative, and lyric (Guth Rico). The story is most often simple but with the last line, they transcend the restriction of place and cover universal plight. Most often the characters of the people are memorable only due to fact that they are trying to survive the trials and tribulations of daily living. For example, in the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley , the author narrates an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley and the policeman asks her whether she has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad experiences of black community in the United States, her poetry is mainly about their plight in the society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated with African American children who live on the street. Like her other poems, the story of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is very simple, but the narrator gradually narrows down the incident described in the poem to the general plight of the black children who live on the street. • 9. Looking at Hugh Hefner s Portrait from Various Lenses Essays Cynthia Freeland argued that art communicates significance but there is no one precise hypothetical approach that tells us how to best interpret a work of art. Although there are better interpretations of a piece artwork than others, there is no one way to interpret a single piece of art. The best interpretations understand the background of the artist while also focusing on the style that the artist uses. Interpretations are very diverse and come from all different areas and when we view Hugh Hefner, photographed by Art Shay, through Freud s perspective, we are filled with emotions that are taken from past experiences. Interest rates directly affect property sales. Residential property realizes the greatest affect as interest rates have a considerable influence on a homebuyer s capability to purchase a new property. The customer is affected when there are significant increases or decreases in interest rates. Declining interest rates lower the costs of obtaining a mortgage; this in turn creates higher demand for homes, and pushes home prices up. Conversely, high interest rates increase the costs to obtain a mortgage; these increases lower the demand for homes, which creates a decline in home prices. (Stammers, 2016) The overall health of the economy has a significant impact on the real estate industry. The economy is measured using indicators such as the GDP, employment percentages, manufacturing activity, and price of goods. When these indicators identify a sluggish economy it translate directly to declining real estate sales. RE/MAX and the customer alike are directly affected by the economy. A slow economy consists of decreased homes sales while a flourishing economy affords the customer the opportunity to buy, which relates to an increase in home sales for the realtor. The ice particles have enough energy to break apart (melt)into smaller particle arrangements. He states that practice is a mode of generational meta theory of all forms of practices constituting the game (Bourdieu, 1977: 72). Individuals enter the game with predetermined interest and act in conformity to the rules of the game to achieve their desired goals. According to Bourdieu, the rules of the game are subject to changes based on different social conditions referred as fields (Bourdieu, 2000:183). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bourdieu (2000:148) notes that habitus is the practical knowledge generated through its agent s history. Habitus is generated by human living experience at a certain environment where social relations are produced in interaction with a specific habitat. The special determination of habitus as a structural orientation is explained in relation to the idea of fields (Bourdieu, 1984). The field and habitus interact in a two dimensional relationship with the field structuring the habitus, and the habitus in its turn structuring the perception of the field (Bourdieu, 1988: 784). This shows that there has no direct influence on the field, but eventually, habitus operates in a dialectic relationship between structure and the agent. Bourdeau sees the field as a multi dimensional space of positions (Bourdieu 1985: 724) occupied agents who own power in alignment with, what he termed as, their symbolic capital that is identified in the context of the specific material environment (ibid: 731). This dialectic relation as noted by Bourdieu (2000:211) between habitus and the probabilities of a social space provides the space for practice and and thoughts. He points out, one should not say that a historical event determined a behavior but that it had this determining effect because a habitus capable of being affected by that event conferred that power upon it (Bourdieu ... • 26. Importance Of Boys Underachievement In Reading And Writing Although there is evidence that proves boys underachievement in reading and writing in contrast to girls , it is important to first note that there are sources that identify boys being less committed to school than girls, but why is this? A significant aspect is boys attitude to school and examinations. Weis (1990) effectively argues that the majority of boys are not concerned with excelling in school, but only with passing. This evidence strongly suggests that boys attitude to education is significantly lower than girls due to only requiring to pass exams instead of exceeding their limitations and reaching their full potential. A positive attitude to education is essential to ensure all pupils obtain higher than satisfactory academic achievements, resulting in a high quality learning experience, although there are also numerous factors that contribute to boys underachievement in reading and writing and the ways it can be tackled. Boys underachievement in reading and writing can be traced to activities within their household. For example, it is not common that young boys witness their father reading novels instead of newspapers, yet there is evidence to suggest that young boys are strongly influenced by this. Pickering (1997, p. 49) supports this by expertly stating that, it seems hard to deny that children are affected to some extent in their learning by the home. • 30. Internal Medicine Career Research Paper My choice of internal medicine as a career is based on my experiences through medical school. Internal medicine allows me to manage patient issues, give treatments, and work with other health care professionals to treat patients. Internal medicine is a sophisticated career that I would like to be a part of. During my first and second years of medical school, I had the opportunity to visit with internists and sub specialists of medicine, including a pulmonologist and a cardiologist. I was impressed by how the physicians were able to discuss with patients about what their problems were and how they can move forward with improving treatment. The physicians also discussed with me about how they integrate basic sciences with clinical practice, which I was impressed with. The internal medicine clerkship during my third year of medical school sparked my interest in internal medicine. I was on an inpatient internal medicine team during my first month of the clerkship. Analyzing patient data and developing plans of care with the internal medicine team during rounds was exciting for me. I also observed how physicians would take ... I appreciated the complexity of the pathophysiology behind the patient illnesses, and understanding these principles helped guide management of patients in various severities of illnesses. This month of the clerkship also still integrated principles of internal medicine outside of the gastroenterology and hepatology that was used for patient care. In addition, the attending physician would sit with the patients and their families for extended periods of time to explain their illnesses and plans of management to them. I noticed that the patients and their families would be more comfortable and receptive to what the physician was discussing with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Explain Why More Time Needs To Be Replaced Between Classes More Time Needs To Be Added Between Classes Have you ever had to get to class on the other side of the building, but had to go to the restroom and ended up late? There are many reasons why you could be late to class. Many students don t use the restroom and get drinks because they know they will be late, they also stop at their lockers as least as they can. A lot of students get to class late without even getting a drink, going to the restroom and stopping at their lockers, they are late because in those short three minutes, they have to get to one end of the school to the other. Teachers always use the excuse You should have used the restroom before class. It is nearly impossible to do that without being late to a class. With three minutes to get a drink, go to the restroom and stop at your locker isn t enough time to be at your class before the bell. Getting a drink will cause you to be late if there is a long line, and your class isn t nearby. If it is a really hot day and you were just in Physical Education, you already spent a minute changing out of your P.E. clothes, and adding another minute by ... • 33. Biological Diversity Found On Earth Speciation accounts for the remarkable biological diversity found on earth. However, it has been extremely difficult to conclusively demonstrate in mockingbirds. Remote oceanic islands have long been recognized as natural models for the study of evolutionary processes involved in diversification and speciation. Their remoteness and susceptibility to catastrophic disturbances by invasive species provide opportunities for colonization and divergence of populations through isolation, making islands fantastic study plots of diversification and speciation. Groups of islands may share a closely similar geological history and comparable climate, but due to these subtly different, or perhaps distinctly different, environments, their inhabitants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Problematically, these characteristics are often under selection and can be inappropriate or misleading. For example, island forms may experience more rapid evolution in response to heightened genetic drift or natural selection due to small population sizes, lack or absence of interspecific competition, exploitation of new niches, and other evolutionary possibilities opened by island ecosystems (e.g. Carlquist 1965, 1974, Lack 1976). These scenarios could potentially explain why so many island species frequently pose such challenges in taxonomic classification. Another problem in regard to Galapagos mockingbird classification emerges out of the fact that only one form or species is found on any single island and the relative contributions of selection and drift to differentiation remain unclear. My objective is to provide evidence for evolution, specifically macroevolution by speciation and diversification in Galapagos Mockingbirds, scientifically termed Nesomimus, and articulate the many limitations at this time in understanding this sequence through the examination morphology. Archipelago location and Composition The Galapagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago located west of the South American coast in the Pacific Ocean and straddle the equator. The Galapagos archipelago comprises 13 major islands, 6 smaller islands, over 40 officially named islets and many smaller unnamed islets and rocks. Of these islands, Isabela, formed by ... • 34. Technology And Modern Technology The invention of computers and the thrust of populations into the digital age was a vast, strong, and immaculagte leap into the future. This aformentioned leap advanced communication from something trivial to something worldly. With the use of the interweb we can now seize endless forums, messages, emails, information, and worldwide communication on the whole. When communication first began to be conceptualized by humans, at its core, it was just the simple act of conveying a message to another being, using the necessarty means to carry the information with no fear of misunderstanding. The whole point of communicating a message to someone is to mske sure they know what you mean so you can further the collective knowledge. The internet was invented and created a whole new way to communicate to others in a fast, inconsequential, and anonymous way to spread their messages to a significantly larger amount of people. Businesses, schools, and relationships of all different categories are withheld with the sentiment of the internet as a backbone to ensure that the relationshiup stays alive and well. Businesses now check the social media pages of any person that may possibly work at the company because the internet part of our person is now so integral to who we are, it is who we are. Relationships and conversation grows stale, tired, and redundant over these technological engines, and how we really behave face to face with someone is supressed, or sometimes forgotten. ... • 35. Video Modeling As An Effective Intervention Strategy for... Introduction According to the U.S. Department of Education, autism is defined as a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interactions and verbal and nonverbal communication. Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may also display attention deficits, engage in repetitive behaviors, resist environmental changes, have unusual sensory experiences, and may exhibit inappropriate behaviors that have adverse impacts on educational performance (Delano, 2007). The incidence of children identified with ASD has steadily increased and has thus changed the dynamics of education. Due to the number of children diagnosed with autism dramatically increasing over the last fifteen years, the demand for research based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also determined that individuals are more likely to imitate the behavior of those they perceive as competent and similar to themselves. Consistent with Bandura s social learning theory, video modeling is a versatile intervention that capitalizes on the potency of observational learning and because most individuals with ASD do not engage in incidental learning to instinctively gather information from their environment, the principles of the social learning theory successfully contribute to the effectiveness of video modeling (Aspy Grossman, 2007). Video modeling is a promising behavioral technique that falls under the category of assistive technology. It is thought to be a beneficial learning tool because it combines the power of observational learning, also known as modeling, with the apparent tendency of individuals with ASD to be particularly responsive to visually cued instruction. Video modeling is a procedure of videotaping targeted behaviors in order to expand the learner s capability to memorize, imitate, and generalize or adapt targeted behaviors (Neumann, 2004). Over the last three decades, the research has shown success when video modeling is used for teaching individuals with ASD a variety of social, academic, functional, and recently vocational skills. However, little research has been conducted on using video modeling to teach behavior expectations during whole group learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness ... In particular, Beethoven s works for piano revolutionized and innovated the piano and its performance practices. His compositional works have always been considered to be some of the best works published, but not everyone realizes just how pivotal his work was in this point in music history. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany on December 16th, 1770 to his father, Johann van Beethoven, and mother, Maria Magdalena Keverich. He lived in Bonn for about 22 years then moved to Vienna after his father passed away due to alcohol misuse. In Vienna, he was a well known German pianist and composer. His compositional works were well known for broadening the usage of instrumentation and expanding the boundaries for performance. Beethoven began to struggle during the later years of his life due to his deafness. He used his emotions to give meaning to his music, and this music became to be known as some of his most important works. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
