A Knight s Code Of Chivalry
A knight s Code of Chivalry was a system of morals that they lived by. Knights were very respected
people because they lived by that code. A person s morals or personal code can reflect a person s
character. I realized mine throughout the time I spent taking care of my great grandmother. My
personal code is to always be generous, kind, and considerate. Kindness can always go a long way. I
try and live my life by treating others the way I would want to be treated. It s not a bad thing to be
considerate of other people and what they care about or their feelings. At the beginning of my
freshman year my great grandmother had a stroke while at home. This stroke left her unable to walk,
talk or eat on her own. After recovering in the hospital

Industrial Revolution Good Or Bad
Introduction: Have you ever wondered how all of our manufacturing systems and products and
inventions came to be? Well if you look back in history, you will see that the true beginning of
manufacturing began around the 18th to 19th centuries, during a period called the Industrial
Revolution. The Industrial Revolution first began in Britain, and then it started to spread. Factories,
inventions and immigration bloomed in America. More inventions and machines were made and that
help mass produce goods. Factories brought a bunch of workers in a area to operate and produce
goods. And because of the amount of jobs available, more immigrants came to America. This cause
increase in production of products and population, in other words the Industrial Revolution. The
Industrial Revolution was a time of a new beginning, new inventions and innovation, and legacies ...

Many inventions helped improve work and production. Inventions such as the flying shuttle invented
and patented by John Kay, helped the weavers weave more cloth (The Industrial Revolution 8). As
more products were being made, more money was also being made. To make more products faster at
factories, more workers were being hired. But they had to work in really bad conditions such as bad
lighting, tight spaces, etc. So some workers went on strike against the factory. In England this was
bad, because more people were demand more products to be made (historyworld.net 1). The factory
owners needed new workers fast, and the answer was immigrants. More and more immigrants came to
the U.S. because of the religious freedom and jobs opportunities, and the factory hired the immigrants
to replace the workers that quit, since they knew that immigrants were less likely go on strike (The
Industrial Revolution 30). The increase in factories and workers, increased the amount of products that

What Caused The Great Recession Of 2007 And 2009
Many factors directly lead and indirectly caused the great recession of 2007 and 2009. The financial
crisis happened because banks were able to create too much money to fast and used it to increase
house prices faster than wages. They increased the amount of money and debt in the economy.
Eventually, the debts became unpayable and the banks saw themselves in danger of bankruptcy where
people could not repay them and limited their spending. A downward spiral begins and the economy
heads into recession. Using the aggregate demand and aggregate supply model you can see a decrease
in aggregated demand, which causes a recession involving a decline in price level. This caused less
investment and consumer spending which then causes less demand and

Political Stability And Level Of Corruption In The UAE
Political Stability and Level of Corruption The political stability in the UAE has been stable in the
economy for many years. The UAE is a well developed country that provides a good level quality of
life and a high standard of living. The country is ranked 12th out of 45 in the markets around the
world by expats as a destination to live and work (Augustine, 2016). With the UAE having a high
rank, especially higher than above average it would be great for the foreigners to move into UAE to
have a good quality of life. The business within the country provides many job opportunities. The
UAE is considered an expat heaven due to the good job opportunities and the high standard of living
embedded within the community. The UAE can be known for starting a business and making a career
out of it for many of those that wants to be successful, which is higher than the global average of 51%.
UAE is also among the top three destinations for people looking to find a purpose in their careers
(Augustine, 2016). This shows how stable this country is and in the business industry that more
foreigners are willing to move to this country increasing the population. More than half of UAE expats
made more money in the UAE compare to their original countries, therefore the average salary in the
UAE is about 14% higher than global average (Augustine, 2016). With the financial benefits provided

The Interlopers Essay
The interlopers is a brief story between two families, an argument between two males for three
generations. A devastation between Ulrich and Georg, two strong enemies. This ponderous feud has
been unpredictable and had brought aftermaths including punches and chaos. The other conflict is the
nature of the story, severe raw weather. The realism is that both men, were the intruders of the forest in
the story. Georg and Ulrich had found themselves in a big forest tabulating if there was an intruder.
Georg had just found his enemy Ulrich. They start out to threaten themselves for who was going to die
first. Outrageously, they started to contend with anger. While battling, a tree branch had suddenly
snapped and drop on Ulrich and Georg. They both got snotty, and couldn t get out. Georg legs got
paralyzed by this enormous tree branch and Ulrich had his knee cracked. Anyways, they remained
discussing about their family s argument. While trapped by the tree branch, Georg and Ulrich kept
chatting about who was going to croak first. They remained hours anguishing from their grievances
and the monstrous conditions.
Later, they finally remain quiet, and one of them request if he wanted appetizing wine. He accepted
the wine to become supports because there was no other option; they were probably going to die.

Chronic Pain Vs Rehabilitation
Pain defined as an unpleasant physical suffering or sensation that is set off in the nervous system and
affects a broad range of population from neonates to elderly. Pain can be either acute in nature which
could last for few days to a week, sub acute (two weeks to twelve weeks) or chronic in nature (lasts
more than twelve weeks to years or even decades). In the world of rehabilitation, acute pain is seen as
a warning sign and can be treated whereas chronic pain is more complex but treatable. Physical
therapists often treat patients suffering from chronic pain that is physically disabling in nature.
Evidence points out that pain is the universal complaint in emergency department visits and opioids,
namely morphine is the norm of treatment of

Barbie Doll Is Bad For Girls
The infamous Barbie doll is still considered to be the most popular toy for girls (and not only for
them). However, the image that the doll itself spreads, is harmful for the girls worldwide, considering
the false body expectations it represents and the portrait of the girls as being unintelligent. Both of the
cases I will explain below. First of all, Barbie doll represent an unrealistic body type and a rigid
beauty ideal that studies show can be harmful to girls. This is dangerous, when considered that from
the young age girls play with the doll and want to be like Barbie. It is not possible to look like the doll
and be healthy at the same time. Also, the looks which Barbie represent are suggestive. Blond hair,
pretty face and unreal body curves may suggest young girls that this is what girls are supposed to look
like. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ill Health Rates of Indigenous Australians
As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to gain a
greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill health issues
such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence of diseases
including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at just the
individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health.
This is why we need to explore in further detail what events could have created such inequities in
Aboriginal health. Other details that we should consider are the historical and cultural factors such as,

Also the population rapidly decreased because of indiscriminate slaughter... and punitive expeditions
(Encyclopaedia of Australia, 1973)
As the English population began to increase, Aboriginal people were moved into missions in 1810, so
the population could be manages and they were taught the European ways so they could be used as
low paid labours, border lining slaves (Creative Spirits, 2002). When the Aboriginal people failed to
move to Christianity and civilised life, the Europeans thought it was due to the lack of intellectual
ability because they didn t understand the complexity and holding power of the traditional culture and
religion to the Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural
Competence, 2009, pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from the community into missions was
known as segregation. In the early 20th century, the Indigenous Australians all throughout the nation
were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn, denied them of their basic human rights as
well as the freedom that was demanded by every other Australian. Aboriginals were increasingly
moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put into government or church controlled reserves
where they were expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural
Competence, 2009, pp. 79). On the Australian census at this time, Aboriginals were still considered as

Before Night Falls Essay
Before Night Falls
In the novel, Before Night Falls by Reinaldo Arenas who lived from 1943 to 1990, the author conveys
many subjects and captures the reader to the full extent. Reinaldo Arenas, the author and the person
who lived the experience writes this book for us in hopes of capturing our feelings and sympathy of
the Cuban Revolution. Arenas wrote over twenty books, including ten novels and numerous short
stories and poems. Arenas was not the only writer affected though as he states that, All the literature of
this century is somewhat burdened by the theme of uprootedness, (Arenas, 36) which means every
piece of literature surrounded the system of being exiled or the fear of being caught or doing wrong
and being thrown out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book opens to the succulent, splendor forest, full of vivid emotion and color where Arenas started
the beginning of his life in Oriente Province, Cuba. The setting is one of poverty, but the natural world
around him seemed to be beautiful and dazzling. Arenas shows this by saying, The splendor of my
childhood was unique because of its absolute poverty and absolute freedom surrounded by trees,
animals, and people who are indifferent towards me (Arenas 332). This quote foreshadows the rest of
the story in that Reinaldo soon faces indifference from other people because he is unique and is doing
something a different way . Also, this quotation points out the wonderful time he had as a child where
there seemed to be opportunity, before Fidel Castro came into power restricting most rights.
Furthermore, Arenas was free as a child and was uplifted by the cognitive nature of opportunity, but as
he got older the setting started to change and dreams were tarnished and opportunity was thrown away
by political interference. Reinaldo Arenas childhood was the only time of happiness and immaculacy
and throughout the rest of the story Arenas is on a desperate search for enchantment in his once short
lived paradise. As Arenas states in the book, These, to be sure, were farfetched hopes, hopes born of
despair, but hope is, after all, mostly for the desperate (Arenas 260). This quote purely gives an edge
to Arenas personality, saying that he,

Assessment Of Country Risk And Opportunities
Assessment of Country Risk Opportunities: UAE
FIN 410 02 Carlos Chuquin, Bryan Lopez, Bailey Martz
The UAE has one of the most diversified economies in the region. Abu Dhabi holds 90% of the
Federation s hydrocarbon reserves. A down side of that is that now the UAE is dependent on the
revenues Abu Dhabi can obtain from the reserves. On the other hand, the service industry in Dubai has
been booming, as Dubai has the 7th largest port in the world and has become the largest business
center in the region. Additionally, there seems to be political stability across the Federation, which
increases the chances of people doing business. There have been reports of the lack of transparency of

After the decrease on the price of oil, Abu Dhabi was the most affected, which made investing in the
oil industry a priority in order to make the price of oil go back up. Additionally, the decline of the oil
price caused the revenues to decrease, which created a public deficit for the country. The government,
however, is dealing with the weak budget revenues well as it has implemented a reform of energy
subsidies, deregulation of domestic hydrocarbon price, and finally, it has increased the price in
electricity and water.
In regards to the account balance, it will remain positive but its levels will be subpar compared to
previous years. The opening of the Iranian market this year will be highly beneficial, as it will
incentivize imports in both the oil and non oil industry. Non oil exports are 60% of the exports of Abu
Dhabi and Dubai. The increase of imports will lessen but it will remain stable, as the local currency,
the Emirati Dirham is pegged to the U.S. dollar which appreciated this year.
The beginning of the UAE s central bank can be traced to the the UAE Currency Board, which was
created in 1973 with the purpose of replacing the UAE s former currency, the Qatari Riyal. During
that period of time, the UAE Currency Board had no central banking powers, and its focus was on
UAE s currency, gold, and foreign exchange. All of that changed in 1980 when a law was passed,
which dissolved the UAE currency and created The Central Bank of the United Arab

How Does Aristotle Contribute To A Starving Child
This paper will discuss the ethical question, if you had the choice of stealing food to give to a starving
child, would you? The question will be discussed from the perspective of three ethical philosophers,
Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and Nietzsche.
Aristotle
Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher of the 4th century BCE (Anonymous, n.d.). As explained
by Sachs (n.d.), Aristotle believed moral virtue is the only practical road to effective action. Practicing
ethics, for Aristotle, is an active, conscious decision. Each decision should be meditated upon with the
object of creating a virtuous life. Aristotle did not believe in strict, pre determined rules that demand
no thought process behind them. It is true he believed virtue ethics to be a habit, but not an instinctual
one. Aristotle would say choose an action knowingly, out of a stable equilibrium of the soul, and for
its own sake (Sachs, n.d.).
Approached with the quandary of stealing to feed a starving child, Aristotle would reflect upon several
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the act of stealing would reflect poorly on his character; it is not a virtuous thing to do.
He said even in cases of urgent necessity, when there is a choice about whom to benefit, one should
first decide whether the scale tips toward the necessary or the beautiful thing (Sachs, n.d.). Feeding the
starving child would be a beautiful act, of course, but in the grand scheme of things it would not be a
lasting one. The child would be hungry again the next day, and if one choose to steal the first day, one
would have to choose to steal every day, thereby marring one s character. I believe Aristotle would
find a long lasting solution to the starving child s situation. He would share his own food, giving
happiness to them both, or he would procure help from another for the child, letting them both share in
the virtue of assisting the less

Usb Drives And Usb Drive Data Transfer
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1. INTRODUCTION Portability and mobility of storage devices
like flash drives and USB devices are becoming so popular to carry and transport data on the go.
Unlike CD/DVD, hard drive, floppy disk or tape drive, a flash memory has no moving parts, so it
guarantees fast read/write speeds and more durable compared to other forms of storage media. Using a
flash drive/memory card to transfer a file typically uses a computer (e.g. laptop, pc, netbook or tablet)
to initialize mass storage communication which is not portable. Smartphone can exchange the data
through Bluetooth but can t act as host to USB drive to USB drive communication for data transfer.
The proposed system bridges the gap of USB drive to USB drive data transfer when a computer is not
present. Because of low prices of Smartphone almost everybody use smartphone so even Smartphone
can t act as host but it can acts as mediator and can be used as user interface to give operational
command for data transfer. Moreover, booting a computer just to transfer a file/s is ridiculous. In an
earlier research, an embedded system is used wherein a slave to slave flash drive transfer makes it
possible to transfer file/s using a programmable microcontroller with USB multi role embedded
host/peripheral controller and navigation control. This makes it possible to transfer data from a flash
drive to another flash drive with 100% data integrity using MD5 checksum algorithm. That research

All of the sites in the corporation are using the same configuration of workstations, servers, and
standalone ups. All of the networks have one way of communicating to the internet and that is by
10base T Ethernet. The bus network is very cost effective to set up, but it can very difficult to trouble
shoot because if the backbone goes down the entire network will have an outage. The other aspect of
this network that is a pain is that fact that if two systems are sending a signal, at the exact same time to
one another the network will have signal collision, meaning that both signals will drop. In order to
prevent this from happening (CSMA/CD) or carrier sense multiple access with collision detection will
be set up. This in effect will put the network into a listen mode to prevent the collisions from taking
place.. Network Response time One of the major goals is to improve the lack of response time and
latency, which is currently being experienced on the network. This is a very critical issue because it is
very slow and there is no other means of communication to the internet or other sites. The first
problem of response times, latency that are being seen on the entire network are all related and are
being caused by not only the slow network speeds, but the out of date systems being used. The
response time is measured by the time that it takes for a system to respond to user

Ordinary Life In Man s Search For Meaning
In Man s Search for Meaning, Viktor E. Frankl recounts the exceptionally individual story of his
experience as a detainee in an inhumane imprisonment amid the Holocaust. He displays this story as a
paper in which he shares his contentions and examination as a specialist and therapist and also a
previous detainee. This paper will audit Frankl s story and additionally his principle contentions, and
will assess the nature of Frankl s written work and spotlight on any regions of shortcoming inside of
the story. This area contains a rundown of Man s Search. Frankl starts his book by expressing that his
motivation in composing the book is not to present certainties and subtle elements of the Holocaust,
however to give an individual record of the ordinary life of a detainee living in a death camp. He
expresses, This story is not worried with the colossal detestations, which have as of now been
portrayed regularly enough (however less frequently accepted), yet... it will attempt to answer this
inquiry: How was ordinary life in a death camp reflected in the normal s psyche detainee? (21). Frankl

Homelessness And Poverty And Homelessness
Imagine a world where it is illegal to sit down. Could you survive if there were no place you were
allowed to fall asleep, to store your belongings, or to stand still? For most of us, these scenarios seem
unrealistic to the point of being ludicrous. But, for homeless people across America, these
circumstances are an ordinary part of life. (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty 7)
While a portion of today s society turns a blind eye to the subject of the criminalization of
homelessness, an even larger quantity of people are not aware of the situation that is happening in
every major city of America. For those living an affluent lifestyle, it can be difficult to discuss the
amount of poverty and homelessness that is constantly occurring. The definition and meaning behind
the absence of home is also arduous to discuss. While homelessness is commonly associated with
sleeping outside or in provisional areas, this word also identifies with an absence of belonging. This
absence of belonging can relate not only to a community, but also to the people that dwell there
(Baumohl 3). Within the portion of those who are aware of the homelessness situation, there is a
section that detests the poverty stricken persons of our society. These biased members of the American
population express their antipathy in several ways. It is necessary to reveal the privileges that
homeless persons have been violently stripped of, and expose and broadcast the freedom they are

Eyes Are The Biggest Betrayers
Eyes are the biggest betrayers. Some say eyes are windows to the soul. Who knows if they are... or if
there is a soul... But betrayers, yes, the eyes are... if you are not careful, they let your secrets out...
especially your desires. You know, hunger shines in the eyes before it can be seen in any other way.
Even if for a second before you hide it. Take care to wipe it out of your eyes before someone sees it.
Or they will think less of you. You are not a poor little famished girl, are you? Where are your
manners? Grandma s words echoed in Riya s ears while she was looking at Preeti.
Yes, there was a definite flicker of unguarded hunger before Preeti lowered her eyes and pretended
otherwise. How did she know to do that? Did her grandmother also tell her the same thing? How to
hide one s desires and hunger? Did these kids also get lessons in manners the same way?

Rain drops were making excited loud noise while they touched soft, muddy, partially covered with
grass ground. Riya s heart was thumping with the beat of that noise.
There she saw her. Preeti was playing with a bunch of children in the rain. They were running and
jumping all over the place. They almost seemed to dance with the music rain was making, all soaked
and drenched. Preeti didn t look like a girl who found talking a task. She was giggling and making
faces. A boy pulled her plait and she ran after him. Both of them slipped in a puddle they hadn t
anticipated. They laughed louder lying all smeared in wet mud while their friends joined them in the
laughter.
Riya couldn t help laughing either. She wouldn t know whether Preeti could hear her from that far in
the rain but that s when Preeti saw her.
It was just a fraction of a second!
And Riya quickly turned her back to the balcony and ran inside. She could tell Preeti had seen
something in her eyes. And Riya was horrified.
Would Preeti know it was

The Conflict Between the Ukraine and Russia Essay
Introduction: The conflict between the Ukraine and Russia is the Ukraine s most long standing and
deadly crisis; since its post Soviet independence began as a protest against the government dropping
plans to forge closer trade ties with the European Union. The conflict between Russia and the Ukraine
stems from more than twenty years of weak governance, the government s inability to promote a
coherent executive branch policy, an economy dominated by oligarchs and rife with corruption, heavy
reliance on Russia, and distinct differences between Ukraine s population from both Eastern and
Western regions in terms of linguistics, religion and ethnicity (Lucas 2009). Furthermore, the Ukraine
and Russia have always shared a history; as both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, globalization has resulted in the state not having as much control over phenomena such as
global companies, information sharing (social media and google) and trading. In addition to the fact
that states can no longer exercise control of their financial markets alone. Multilateral arrangements in
the global economy such as IMF, GATT, G 7, as well as multi nation corporations frustrate states
through threat of transfer pricing and relocating their production facilities (Goksel 2005). As a result
globalisation has also undone some important cultural and psychological underpinnings of
sovereignty. However, it is imperative to note that the effect of globalisation on different nation states
will not be the same, because states differ domestically, historically, politically and socio culturally.
Therefore, states will make different policy choices in response to the same global phenomena (Held
1989, 237). Looking at the specific context of the Ukraine and Russia, it is evident that Globalization
has influenced the underlying causes of the conflict and the impact of the Russian invasion. The
international community is the structure that allows globalization to occur; however, the international
community is restrained and dictated to by international law. International law: Under international
law Russia s invasion of the Crimean Peninsula is illegal as the Referendum held on the 16th of March

What I Learned In Anatomy Class
My hand was sprinting across the page with charcoal in palm, and the finish line of my sketch was in
sight. The image of a model s face was quickly appearing, and the proportions of her eyes to nose and
ear to mouth were just right. Proportions of the human face were something I learned in art class,
whereas the details in her eyes were something I learned in anatomy class.
I never knew how much I loved science until my love for art developed. As a child, I grew up in a
home where my parents encouraged me to flourish creatively. While we lived in Europe, I thrived on
new adventures as they took me to museums, cathedrals, and castles throughout several countries. The
sculptures and paintings of people always amazed me. My small brain could ... Show more content on

During my time there, I shadowed a pediatric doctor. While I was asking him questions, he was called
into an emergency surgery, and I was unfortunately not old enough to watch according to the hospital

embarrassed to admit to her that I was not aware of a PA s responsibilities to the hospital. Throughout
the rest of the day, I followed the PA into patient rooms and recovery rooms. I was able to observe
how the PA interacted with patients with such a reassuring and caring attitude that I had not seen with
the previous physician I had met. I not only respected her compassionate personality, but I related to
it.
My senior year, I desired to see more of what life was like as a PA. Thankfully, I was finally within the
age requirement to stand in on surgeries. That day I saw the PA make the first cut and suture the last
stitch. Both were made with such precision and perfection. It hit me; the PA was an artist just like
Rubens, Giorgione, and Michelangelo. The sutures were just as beautiful as the paintings in all the

Collecting Crime Data Analysis
Collecting crime data is very important to the criminal justice system. It helps in various ways from
showing increases of certain crimes in different regions to how often different crimes are committed.
There are three major crime data sources in the united states, official statistics, victimization survey
data, and self reported data.
Starting with official statistics, the main source is the UCR which stands for uniform crime reports.
The UCR Program collects statistics on violent crime (murder and nonnegligent manslaughter,
forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) and property crime (burglary, larceny theft, and motor
vehicle theft). All the data collected is compiled by the FBI. The FBI gets all of the data from police
and sheriff departments. Only a majority of departments participate because participation is voluntary
which leaves the data as a whole to some extent inaccurate. The UCR will report not only the number
of crimes reported but can also portray the rate of occurrence. How the occurrence is presented is
through the crime rate. The crime rate is The actual number of reported crimes standardized by some
unit of the population. (Gibson 2016) The data collected from the law enforcement departments for the
UCR is separated into part 1 and part 2 offenses. Part 1 is for the more serious crimes such as murder

NIBRS stands for the national incident based reporting system. This began in 1982, in order to collect

process it takes to collect all the information required by the NIBRS. One benefit is that there is no
hierarchy rule, that the UCR does have, which means in multiple crime cases all crimes will be
reported instead of just the most serious

Hieronymus Bosch Death And The Miser
The Death and the Miser is a painting by Hieronymus Bosch, who was a Dutch artist of the Late
Gothic style, known as the Early Renaissance. The Death and the Miser was painted in 1490 A.D. and
is a moral tale warning anyone who has grabbed at life s pleasures without being sufficiently detached
and who is unprepared to die. Hieronymus Death and the Miser guides viewers to a different vision of
moments before death through subject mater, color, line, composition, and historical context.
In Hieronymus Bosch painting, Death and the mister the subject matter is dark and chilling. The
painting takes place in a miser s bedroom. In the middle of the room there is a long extravagant bed.
There is a pale boy sitting up I the bed looking frightened who is the miser. His left arm is raised
slightly upward like he is trying to protect himself. There is an angel next to his right shoulder and an

balance evenly divides heaven from hell and the misers decision to decide his eternal faith.
Often depicting religious motifs such as this one, Hieronymus Bosch, born in 1450, was a Dutch artist
of the Late Gothic style, known as the Early Renaissance. Little is know about Bosch s life. His
personality is not shown through his art. Bosch s paintings are very imaginative and dark. His
paintings are very difficult to translate. The themes of his art were mainly religious but had a lot to do
with sin. Bosch s artwork did not show a world full of beauty but rather more a world full of

The Digitial Millenium Copyright Act As current lawsuits unfold and the history of the Internet

Millennium Copyright Act, signed into law by President Clinton on October 28, 1998, was written in
an attempt to strike a balance between the rights of a work s creator to receive adequate compensation
and society s fundamental right to freedom of information. The bottom line is that the objective of the
Digital Millennium Copyright Act is to prohibit all Internet users from accessing copyrighted
materials on the Internet. The most renowned case where this is currently happening is A M Records,

The current court case and ensuing media battle are accomplishing little in the way of creating real
long term solutions to online piracy (Frankel 1). The only way to get to the core of the issue and really
understand the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is to get a little bit of a background on copyright
itself.
Almost three hundred years ago, England was the first country to formally establish the first copyright
laws in what they called, the Statute of Anne. The rationale behind establishing the world s first
copyright laws was supposedly to protect the rights of the consumer. The Statute of Anne was created
with the title of an act for the encouragement of learning, although works, such as books, were not
considered valuable pieces of art that should be protected. Instead, they were considered valuable
commodities to profit from. When the United States Constitution was first being written in 1787, our
founding fathers recognized that everyone would benefit if creative people were encouraged to create
new intellectual and artistic works. The framers of the Constitution admired the Statute of Anne and
took care to include a copyright clause (Article 1 Section 8) giving congress the power to promote the
progress of science and useful arts by passing laws that give creative artists (labeled authors in the
constitution) the exclusive

Slave Trade Influence
The Atlantic Slave Trade impacted Africa in multiple negative ways: most people were captured and
sold as slaves for goods and shipped off to a new country, others were harassed, assaulted, and beaten.
Although our ancestors might not have been from Africa, slavery impacted our country, it changed the
world. African slavery impacted the world in many ways, however it s legacy lives within Elmina
Castle, and it s history lives within the United States.
Elmina castle was originally built as a trading establishment by the Portuguese in 1482, however it

These castles serve as historic landmarks to preserve the history of the Slave Trade, and more
importantly to preserve and protect the memories and lives of African ancestors, as well as protect the
beliefs and rights of others. Slavery is an important part of African history that effected many other
countries as well, such as the Unites States.
An important part of the United States history began with slavery, although it led to economic growth
within the country, it also led to other important events in history such as the Civil War, the
Underground Railroad, and the 13th amendment. In school children are taught about slavery and the
effects it had on the United States, effects that still plague this nation to this day. One cannot learn
about United States history without learning about other factors that contributed to and influenced this
country.
Elmina Castle represents the mistreatment African ancestors had to endure, it stands a memorial for
those who innocently lost their lives. Although Elmina Castle did not directly impact the United
States, the people who passed through their doors did.

Steps Of The Ethical Decision-Making Model In Social Work
Introduction In chapter 8 the text discusses the ethical decision making model and how social workers
should ask themselves if they see their self in an ethical situation. There are eight different steps or
questions that a social worker should ask him/herself, those would include one identifying the problem
or dilemma, two Identify the potential issues involved, three Apply the relevant ethics code, fourth
know the applicable laws and regulations, five obtain consultation, six consider possible and probable
courses of action, seven explore the consequences of various decisions, and might decide on the best
course of action. As I began to read the questions to make the best decisions in this situation I am
going to go through each step of the ethical decision making model and break down the case to make
the best and ethical decision that I could make as a social worker.
Step of Ethical Decision Making Model After reading the text for the first step in the decision making
model, I start breaking down the case as figuring out what the problem is in the case. The problem in
the case is that the husband has confessed to you that he is involved romantically with another person
and his wife isn t aware of the situation. So the main problem in this scenario is that you the husband
and wife have been coming to you for help improve the quality of their relationship but while doing
this the husband has cheated his wife. The second step of the decision making process is

The Moral Dilemma Of The Louisiana Purchase
The Moral Dilemma Of The Louisiana Purchase
President Thomas Jefferson faced many moral dilemmas during the process of deciding to purchase
the territory, the moral predicaments that president Thomas Jefferson faced was going against the
constitution, going in major debt to pay for the territory, and also faced many issues with foreign
policy almost exclusively between the countries Spain and France. President Jefferson was put in a
situation that no other leader of our young country had ever been in, and he stressed about breaking
his own moral code to make the correct decision for his nation. President Jefferson s major personal
moral dilemma was actually purchasing the territory of louisiana from the french. Jefferson was a
strong Democratic Republican. This party was founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, This
party was created in opposition of the federalist party which was led by Alexander Hamilton. The
Democratic Republican party believed that a strong central national government would deplete and
completely rid the rights of states. The party strongly disapproved of the national Bank Of The United
States stating that the bank was taking away power that belonged to the states. Among many of the
views of the Democratic Republican the strongest belief was to strictly abided by the constitution, so
when the opportunity arose to purchase the French owned territory, the constitution did not state
whether the government could or could not acquire any new land

The Physics of Hockey Essays
The Physics of Hockey
Physics is everywhere. Consequently, physics is a part of sports and more specifically, hockey. As the
scientific discoveries progressed with time, so did the advancements in the sport of hockey, reflecting
on how important and influential science truly is. Physics takes part in the ice, the skates, the
protective gear, the shots, goaltending, and all other aspects of ice hockey. Skates used to be more like
skis. Players glided on the ice rather than actually skated. Artifacts also show the use of animal bones
as skate blades as well. Currently, steal blades are used. There is a small arc groove on the blade that
provides the friction needed to counteract the slipperiness of the ice (Haché 37). The ... Show more

This does not mean that there is more heat but rather heat is applied more quickly (Haché 24).
The most basic and necessary skill in hockey is skating. Skating is made possible thanks to Newton s
Third Law. With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The blade applies force on the
ice and the ice pushes back on the blade causing a forward movement. To accelerate, players exert a
strong force on the lower part of their bodies by leaning forward. Gravity pulls down on a hockey
player s center of mass which torques him forward (Exploratorium 1). Skaters also skate and
accelerate while turning. Centripetal force enables the player to lean inward and create a sharp turn
(Haché 50).
Acceleration is negative for a braking skater and is determined by the friction force on the skate blade.
To achieve this, the skater turns their skates perpendicular to the direction of motion and digs the
blade into the ice, creating the greatest resistive force. The blade scrapes a layer of ice off the surface
and the player comes to a stop (Exploratorium 1).
Another large part of the sport is the physical contact. Hockey can turn into a brutal game with 220
pound men checking each other left and right. Because these men have large masses and fast
velocities, they have a lot of kinetic energy. The energy of each player before the collision is K = ½
mv2 and afterward (because their collisions are inelastic) their total energy = ½

Choices In Black Cat, By Edgar Allen Poe
Have you ever thought about why people choose to make the choices they make? There is controversy
over if people are able to make their own choices. Almost all of the time you have full control over
your decisions. You have the ability to follow the rules if you want to and know that there could be a
good or bad consequence to what you do. An individual has the power to choose their response in any
situation. When someone tries to make a person do something, they have the choice not to listen and
retaliate. Rules are set in life and you have the power and choice to follow them. No one is stopping
you from not following them and they are only something someone is telling you to do, not forcing
you. You have the ability to resist what is put against you and that is your choice, not someone else s.
If you were not able to make your own choices, then everyone would be following the rules, and
would not have the right to speak out and resist things they don t want. ... Show more content on

When you choose to do something your action always has a consequence, and those consequences are
not just bad, but can be good. In the story by Edgar Allen Poe, The Black Cat the narrator had not
been forced to drink, but that was his own choice. His choice to drink had a bad consequence and led
to him killing his own cat. Later in The Black Cat the narrator also chose to kill his wife and not his
cat and the consequence to that was him being arrested and sentenced to death. The Black Cat is a
great example on how everyone has the power to make their own choices. If you were not able to
make your own choices, the events in The Black Cat would of never occurred and that shows how
people have the ability to make their own

Freud s Theory Of Psychosexual Stages Of Development And...
Abstract
Freud s theory of psychosexual stages of development and Costa and McCrae s Five Factor model
were compared to assess the personality of a woman named Judy, experiencing difficulty in her
primary relationships and day to day functioning. The main purposes of the study is to explain how
each theorist would assess Judy s behavior and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each approach
and further the differences and any similarities found. The key strength of Costa and McCrae s model
was providing a detailed and structured analysis of personality that is scientifically based however was
limited in explaining the origin of Judy s personality. Freud s observational method using the
Rorschach has little scientific evidence however his theory did provide explanations for how Jane s
personality developed. While there were many differences some similarities were also found with the
most interesting that final assessments were similar, with a possible same diagnosis which indicated
that even across two every different theories and theorists there is agreement in how personality is
ultimately assessed.

Chemical Reactions That React The Most Efficiently For...
h Chemicals Will React the Most Efficiently for Heat and Eat Packs
Aim:
To identify which reactions will be the most efficient, in order to heat pre cooked meals.
Theory:
It is stated that all chemical reactions involve energy changes. Where a substance is stored with
chemical energy and has the potential to be converted to heat (insert cited thing). Exothermic and
Endothermic reactions are included in the changes in heat of energy. As Exothermic reactions release
heat, and transfer the temperature to its surroundings. This is because the energy absorbed to split the
bonds of the reactants release less heat energy than the product made by the bonds. An endothermic
reaction however absorbs heat from its surrounding as the reactant doesn t supply enough energy
therefore it absorbs energy from its environment. In addition, endothermic reactions release more heat
energy in order to break the bonds made by the products.
The bonds in the exothermic and endothermic occur during the experiment, as the breaking and
making of the chemical bonds are involved. Exothermic is energy that is released when any chemical
bond is formed and Endothermic is energy which must be added when a chemical bond is broken. It is
recognized that with exothermic reactions, the products will contain a lower energy with the reactants.
Endothermic reactions however have products which contain a higher energy than the reactants. This
is because exothermic reactions release heat, and in the progress

A life changing experience
Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life. Caroline Leavitt. My
story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far away land,
called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a world so
different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the story of an
eighteen year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from home and
family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind everything and
everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had seen only in the
movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African Americans lived unified on a
vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are moving to America. It was
the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped, and I did not know what I should
do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me move forward or it would cause me to
face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that
there were drastic changes which would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to
digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the

Unfortunately not every dog gets the opportunity to go on a nice brisk walk often, sometimes not at all. Our goal is to challenge this; we want to persuade people to agree to learn about the dog walking program offered at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. • 13. Barbie Doll Is Bad For Girls The infamous Barbie doll is still considered to be the most popular toy for girls (and not only for them). However, the image that the doll itself spreads, is harmful for the girls worldwide, considering the false body expectations it represents and the portrait of the girls as being unintelligent. Both of the cases I will explain below. First of all, Barbie doll represent an unrealistic body type and a rigid beauty ideal that studies show can be harmful to girls. This is dangerous, when considered that from the young age girls play with the doll and want to be like Barbie. It is not possible to look like the doll and be healthy at the same time. Also, the looks which Barbie represent are suggestive. Blond hair, pretty face and unreal body curves may suggest young girls that this is what girls are supposed to look like. ... Ill Health Rates of Indigenous Australians As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to gain a greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill health issues such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence of diseases including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health. When the Aboriginal people failed to move to Christianity and civilised life, the Europeans thought it was due to the lack of intellectual ability because they didn t understand the complexity and holding power of the traditional culture and religion to the Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from the community into missions was known as segregation. In the early 20th century, the Indigenous Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn, denied them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom that was demanded by every other Australian. Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put into government or church controlled reserves where they were expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 79). Before Night Falls Essay Before Night Falls In the novel, Before Night Falls by Reinaldo Arenas who lived from 1943 to 1990, the author conveys many subjects and captures the reader to the full extent. Reinaldo Arenas, the author and the person who lived the experience writes this book for us in hopes of capturing our feelings and sympathy of the Cuban Revolution. Arenas wrote over twenty books, including ten novels and numerous short stories and poems. Arenas was not the only writer affected though as he states that, All the literature of this century is somewhat burdened by the theme of uprootedness, (Arenas, 36) which means every piece of literature surrounded the system of being exiled or the fear of being caught or doing wrong and being thrown out to ... The setting is one of poverty, but the natural world around him seemed to be beautiful and dazzling. Arenas shows this by saying, The splendor of my childhood was unique because of its absolute poverty and absolute freedom surrounded by trees, animals, and people who are indifferent towards me (Arenas 332). This quote foreshadows the rest of the story in that Reinaldo soon faces indifference from other people because he is unique and is doing something a different way . Also, this quotation points out the wonderful time he had as a child where there seemed to be opportunity, before Fidel Castro came into power restricting most rights. Furthermore, Arenas was free as a child and was uplifted by the cognitive nature of opportunity, but as he got older the setting started to change and dreams were tarnished and opportunity was thrown away by political interference. Reinaldo Arenas childhood was the only time of happiness and immaculacy and throughout the rest of the story Arenas is on a desperate search for enchantment in his once short lived paradise. Assessment Of Country Risk And Opportunities Assessment of Country Risk Opportunities: UAE FIN 410 02 Carlos Chuquin, Bryan Lopez, Bailey Martz The UAE has one of the most diversified economies in the region. Abu Dhabi holds 90% of the Federation s hydrocarbon reserves. A down side of that is that now the UAE is dependent on the revenues Abu Dhabi can obtain from the reserves. On the other hand, the service industry in Dubai has been booming, as Dubai has the 7th largest port in the world and has become the largest business center in the region. Additionally, there seems to be political stability across the Federation, which increases the chances of people doing business. After the decrease on the price of oil, Abu Dhabi was the most affected, which made investing in the oil industry a priority in order to make the price of oil go back up. Additionally, the decline of the oil price caused the revenues to decrease, which created a public deficit for the country. The government, however, is dealing with the weak budget revenues well as it has implemented a reform of energy subsidies, deregulation of domestic hydrocarbon price, and finally, it has increased the price in electricity and water. In regards to the account balance, it will remain positive but its levels will be subpar compared to previous years. The opening of the Iranian market this year will be highly beneficial, as it will incentivize imports in both the oil and non oil industry. Non oil exports are 60% of the exports of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The increase of imports will lessen but it will remain stable, as the local currency, the Emirati Dirham is pegged to the U.S. dollar which appreciated this year. The beginning of the UAE s central bank can be traced to the the UAE Currency Board, which was created in 1973 with the purpose of replacing the UAE s former currency, the Qatari Riyal. During that period of time, the UAE Currency Board had no central banking powers, and its focus was on UAE s currency, gold, and foreign exchange. • 17. How Does Aristotle Contribute To A Starving Child This paper will discuss the ethical question, if you had the choice of stealing food to give to a starving child, would you? The question will be discussed from the perspective of three ethical philosophers, Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and Nietzsche. Aristotle Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher of the 4th century BCE (Anonymous, n.d.). As explained by Sachs (n.d.), Aristotle believed moral virtue is the only practical road to effective action. Practicing ethics, for Aristotle, is an active, conscious decision. Each decision should be meditated upon with the object of creating a virtuous life. Aristotle did not believe in strict, pre determined rules that demand no thought process behind them. It is true he believed virtue ethics to be a habit, but not an instinctual one. Aristotle would say choose an action knowingly, out of a stable equilibrium of the soul, and for its own sake (Sachs, n.d.). Approached with the quandary of stealing to feed a starving child, Aristotle would reflect upon several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because the act of stealing would reflect poorly on his character; it is not a virtuous thing to do. He said even in cases of urgent necessity, when there is a choice about whom to benefit, one should first decide whether the scale tips toward the necessary or the beautiful thing (Sachs, n.d.). Feeding the starving child would be a beautiful act, of course, but in the grand scheme of things it would not be a lasting one. The child would be hungry again the next day, and if one choose to steal the first day, one would have to choose to steal every day, thereby marring one s character. I believe Aristotle would find a long lasting solution to the starving child s situation. He would share his own food, giving happiness to them both, or he would procure help from another for the child, letting them both share in the virtue of assisting the less ... • 18. Usb Drives And Usb Drive Data Transfer CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1. INTRODUCTION Portability and mobility of storage devices like flash drives and USB devices are becoming so popular to carry and transport data on the go. Unlike CD/DVD, hard drive, floppy disk or tape drive, a flash memory has no moving parts, so it guarantees fast read/write speeds and more durable compared to other forms of storage media. Using a flash drive/memory card to transfer a file typically uses a computer (e.g. laptop, pc, netbook or tablet) to initialize mass storage communication which is not portable. Smartphone can exchange the data through Bluetooth but can t act as host to USB drive to USB drive communication for data transfer. The proposed system bridges the gap of USB drive to USB drive data transfer when a computer is not present. Because of low prices of Smartphone almost everybody use smartphone so even Smartphone can t act as host but it can acts as mediator and can be used as user interface to give operational command for data transfer. Moreover, booting a computer just to transfer a file/s is ridiculous. In an earlier research, an embedded system is used wherein a slave to slave flash drive transfer makes it possible to transfer file/s using a programmable microcontroller with USB multi role embedded host/peripheral controller and navigation control. This makes it possible to transfer data from a flash drive to another flash drive with 100% data integrity using MD5 checksum algorithm. That research also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The other aspect of this network that is a pain is that fact that if two systems are sending a signal, at the exact same time to one another the network will have signal collision, meaning that both signals will drop. In order to prevent this from happening (CSMA/CD) or carrier sense multiple access with collision detection will be set up. The UCR Program collects statistics on violent crime (murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) and property crime (burglary, larceny theft, and motor vehicle theft). This does not mean that there is more heat but rather heat is applied more quickly (Haché 24). The most basic and necessary skill in hockey is skating. Skating is made possible thanks to Newton s Third Law. With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The blade applies force on the ice and the ice pushes back on the blade causing a forward movement. To accelerate, players exert a strong force on the lower part of their bodies by leaning forward. Gravity pulls down on a hockey player s center of mass which torques him forward (Exploratorium 1). Skaters also skate and accelerate while turning. Centripetal force enables the player to lean inward and create a sharp turn (Haché 50). Acceleration is negative for a braking skater and is determined by the friction force on the skate blade. To achieve this, the skater turns their skates perpendicular to the direction of motion and digs the blade into the ice, creating the greatest resistive force. The blade scrapes a layer of ice off the surface and the player comes to a stop (Exploratorium 1). Another large part of the sport is the physical contact. Hockey can turn into a brutal game with 220 pound men checking each other left and right. Because these men have large masses and fast velocities, they have a lot of kinetic energy. Chemical Reactions That React The Most Efficiently For... h Chemicals Will React the Most Efficiently for Heat and Eat Packs Aim: To identify which reactions will be the most efficient, in order to heat pre cooked meals. Theory: It is stated that all chemical reactions involve energy changes. Where a substance is stored with chemical energy and has the potential to be converted to heat (insert cited thing). Exothermic and Endothermic reactions are included in the changes in heat of energy. As Exothermic reactions release heat, and transfer the temperature to its surroundings. This is because the energy absorbed to split the bonds of the reactants release less heat energy than the product made by the bonds. An endothermic reaction however absorbs heat from its surrounding as the reactant doesn t supply enough energy therefore it absorbs energy from its environment. In addition, endothermic reactions release more heat energy in order to break the bonds made by the products. The bonds in the exothermic and endothermic occur during the experiment, as the breaking and making of the chemical bonds are involved. Exothermic is energy that is released when any chemical bond is formed and Endothermic is energy which must be added when a chemical bond is broken. It is recognized that with exothermic reactions, the products will contain a lower energy with the reactants. Endothermic reactions however have products which contain a higher energy than the reactants. This is because exothermic reactions release heat, and in the progress ... A Life Changing Experience Ankit Bhardwaj ENG111 13D Mr. Treanor 10 November 2017 Essay 1 draft 3 A life changing experience Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life. Caroline Leavitt. My story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far away land, called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the story of an eighteen year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped, and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the mélange ...
