Choosehealthla Mass Media
If you are American, you ate too much sugar today, twice the daily limit, about 60 to 90 grams of
added sugars. Americans consume two to three times the daily limit of added sugars, a silent, yet
serious issue. Many people are confused about what added sugars are, which are unnatural sweeteners
with extra calories that are added into foods and beverages, through cooking, processing, or on the
table (Today s Dietitian Magazine). From October 2011 to December 2012, ChooseHealthLA ran a
marketing campaign to combat excess consumption of sugar sweetened beverages in America with
more effectiveness compared to other similar campaigns, resulting in more than 515 million
impressions throughout mass media, billboards, buses, and railways (Barragan). ... Show more content

The campaign s engaging message was presented as a strong and very informative caption that helped
make up the previous errors that other campaigns had made that worsened the fight against sugar
intake. They focused locally in the communities of Los Angeles County at first, gaining attention from
the adults multiculturally by using different languages helped create a high number of impressions in
the Los Angeles County. Through mass media it had also attracted and changed the behaviors of a
large audience outside the communities. Engaging the public through mass media with a minimal
message had immensely resonated with the public in a highly saturated media market .
ChooseHealthLA had done a large successful societal impact with the use of mass media and the

Role Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451
Are world is becoming a place full of a bunch of mindless consumers that can t think for themselves.
We are not capable of thinking deeply because we have all these things around us distracting us like
advertisements and we always have things in ours ears like headphones just like the seashell ear pieces
in Fahrenheit 451. We are not capable of electing politicians based on real issues we just vote for the
best looking politician and think he is automatically the best. We also can t communicate with each
other there is too much technology and if we do interact with people it involves technology and no one
really is interested in books they are immersed in their devices and tvs. Today s world is turning into
Fahrenheit 451 s world we are not capable of thinking deeply we are not capable of electing
politicians based on real issues and we are not capable of communicating with each other. In
Fahrenheit 451 s world they are not capable of thinking deeply or thinking for themselves the people
in Fahrenheit 451 are almost mind controlled. In fahrenheit 451 people are not able to think deeply
because of mass media like when montag is on the train a jingle for denham s dentifrice toothpaste
comes on in the train and everyone is distracted by it and no one tries to stop it but montag tries to
stop it. He tries to stop the jingle because he is trying to read and retain the information but he can t

The Standard of Living
What is Dorothy Parker suggesting to readers regarding the values, dreams, and aspirations in today s
materialistic society? The story Standard of Living makes some strong statements about the values of
todays society. Annabel and Midge are obsessed with money. The girls spend countless hours
fantasizing about being millionaires and trying to emulate those that are. Their love of money is not
only fueled by the materialistic products they can buy with it, but by the envy they get from others that
thing Annabel and Midge have money, and the power that comes with that envy.

Money allows people have whatever they want, whether it be a material item, or even a person. The
tobacco industry is a great example. Tobacco products kill hundreds of thousands of people every
year. Not only is it a repeat business to begin with, but the product itself is heavily addictive, so people
give the company repeat business whether or not they really want to. The industry however

How To Describe The Velvet Underground
5. The Velvet Underground Sister Ray
This classic rock song was a staple of The Velvet Underground s live shows. They often closed out
their set with Sister Ray, jamming out for up to thirty minutes, sometimes more. The studio recording
of it was a single take that lasts over seventeen minutes.
4. The Kingsmen Louie Louie
This song was a Richard Berry single from 1955, which The Kingsmen covered in 1963 at
Northwestern, Inc., Motion Pictures and Recording, located in Portland. Like many single take
recordings, the track contains an audible error just after the first guitar break. Jack Ely starts singing
the second verse too early and stopped himself short, creating a gap that drummer Lynn Easton
smoothly filled with a clever drum fill. The band actually weren t too thrilled with the first take, but
for some reason, that was the only one they did, and it became a classic rock song.

The recording took place in London, in May of 1964. Still considered one of the greatest rock songs
ever, the one off reached the top of US and UK charts shortly after its release, making it their signature

2. The Beatles Twist Shout
While recording their debut album Please Please Me The Beatles famously did a one off cover of The
Isley Brothers song Twist Shout. Recording 11 songs in only 10 hours, John Lennon s voice was
hurting, to say the least, on top of his having a cold at the time. Producer George Martin had left this
song for last, and though they attempted a second take, Lennon s voice was gone by them. It s also
rumored that Lennon chugged a glass of milk before the first take in an attempt to soothe his throat,
which gave his voice that extra raspiness audible on Twist Shout. It was the first take only in this case!

A Brief Note On The Green Building Movement
The Green Building Movement North American homes, offices and other buildings contribute an
estimated 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year more than one third of the
continent s greenhouse gas pollution output (Biello). Global warming is a worldwide issue that is
thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is one of
the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone layer
causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are simple
methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green building is a building process
that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout the whole
building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up to the
demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is very
important throughout each stage in the project. This process can lead to a much better and easier way
to help the global warming issue throughout the world. Many people may oppose to green building
because of the higher cost for new equipment and materials that are environmental friendly
(Rajendran). Although there are new technologies that are beginning to help some current
environmental safety issues, these technologies are being developed for the same reasons that people
are encouraging green

General Electric ( Ge )
General Electric General Electric (GE abbreviated) was started with Thomas Edison s invention of the
light bulb. Both Thomas Edison and JP Morgan started the Edison Lamp Company, which later
became known as General Electric. The people at GE are committed to making a world that works
better. General Electric does not have a standard mission statement, but they explain their objectives
by the simple equation seen below. General Electric, as seen in the equation above, looks at what the
world needs, finds a better way to produce that need and does all of this with a relentless drive to
invent and build things that matter. And this equation equals a world that will work better. GE takes
pride in the over all quality of their products and wants stakeholders to know that they are very
customer driven and will put the customer first and foremost. In the GE work equation, they do not
reference the teamwork, customer, excellence and other attributes they may have, but they do focus on
markets served, citizenship, employees, and their self concept. General Electric was actually founded
in 1892 when Edison General Electric and The Thompson Houston Company merged to become The
General Electric Company with Charles A. Coffin as the first president. Since the formation of the
company, General Electric has come to be the top contributor in health, science, and technology, more
so than any other company. There have been some remarkable times for General Electric shown in

Multitasking Is Bad
Many people multitask, for some it is a daily routine. Multitasking is not a bad thing, however it is not
always good. Texting and driving is a bad example. Listening to music and doing homework is not a
bad thing, but it is not always efficient. There are both good and bad examples of multitasking.
Multitasking can be done in certain situations. A large amount of people multitask every day. Some
people say it is good, others say it is bad. Research shows that only about five percent of us multitask
effectively (Weimer). Which means that the other 95 percent don t. However, researchers at Ohio State
University found that students that watch TV and read a book at the same time are more emotionally
satisfied than those who don t (Taylor). Eating and watching TV seems to be a good idea, but studies
prove that we tend to eat more when we do other things. Hill says, Some students can ... Show more

Of course most of the time it is considered a bad thing, although this may be true a study from the
University of Basel** found that sometimes the cognitive load that results from multitasking
improved performance because it forced the participants to switch cognitive strategies and use a more
efficient action plan to solve problems (Williams). In many ways multitasking has positive good
effects, it is said it improve many skills. Reading a book, texting, watching TV, surfing the internet,
and talking to someone over the phone at the same time can improve one s ability to handle multiple
tasks (Taylor). So yes, multitasking is improved each time we do it. The more things we do at the
same, the more our multitasking abilities are enhanced. It is actually a great idea to do several things
at one as long as only one of them is important and mentally taxing (Williams). Multitasking is a good
way of getting many things done at one, as long as it is done

Chromatography Procedure
1. Two pieces of chromatography paper are trimmed so they are exactly 20.5 cm by 11 cm. The paper
is handled by its edges only to avoid contamination from finger oils.
2. The mobile phase is prepared by dissolving a pinch of salt in 50 mL of room temperature distilled
water. The salt is stirred until completely dissolved and set aside to use in step 12.
3. Enough mobile phase is transferred to the 400 600 mL beaker so that the liquid level is no more
than 5 mm above the bottom of the beaker. The beaker is covered with a watch glass to allow the
liquid and vapor to come to equilibrium.
4. 1 cm is measured from the bottom of the paper on both sides, and a light line is drawn using pencil

The columns are labeled above each mark at the top of the paper with a descriptor to identify which
spot is which sample or standard. All of the standards need to be included on each paper so that the
components of the unknowns can be identified.
7. A few drops of each dye standard solution are transferred into the well plate to avoid contamination.
8. A clean toothpick is used for every standard to place a small spot of the dye on the cross mark of the
paper in the appropriate column. The spot cannot get too large, or the chromatogram may be streaky
and difficult to read. Spots should not be greater than 2 mm in width. The spot may have to dry and
more sample will have to be added to get a dark spot without the spot becoming too diffuse.
9. To prepare the food samples, a small amount of water is used to dissolve the dye and a clean
toothpick is used to transfer the sample. It is important that the food samples are as concentrated as
possible so that the dyes can be visualized after they have spread out during separation.
a. For solid candies, place a drop of water on the candy, and let it sit for a few minutes so that the
water can dissolve the dye in the candy shell. Alternatively, you can wet your toothpick and scrub on
the surface of the candy to pick up some of the color and then transfer directly to the chromatography

In general, a bill will start with a member of Congress, but members of the public, state legislatures, or
the executive branch can also suggest a bill to them. After a congressman decides that they wish to
propose legislation, they then have to submit the bill to their respective house. In the House of
Representatives, all that is needed is to place the bill into a box, while in the Senate, one must file it
with a clerk. To illustrate the process, look at a hypothetical bill introduced in the House. After the bill
has been submitted, it will be recorded in the House Journal and the Congressional record. The
speaker of the house then assigns the bill to a committee. This is an important step and gives the
speaker a large amount of power, as assigning a bill to a committee that will view it unfavorably will
almost certainly result in the death of the bill. After the assignment, the committee will hold sessions
to make any changes they think are important, and if deemed necessary, the chair will send the bill to a
subcommittee. They will hold hearings and do further research before amending the bill, when it will
be returned to the main

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to
ensure that ALL companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure
environment. Essentially any merchant that has a Merchant ID (MID). (PCI Compliance Guide).
We have three steps for compliance to PCI standards. Step 1 ASSESS The purpose of the assessment
step is to study all possible process and technology vulnerabilities that may pose a threat to consumer
credit card data processed by our company. Step 2 REMIDIATE Remediation is how we begin fixing
vulnerabilities these vulnerabilities include technology flaws like outdated software or hardware that
is easily bypassed by an exploit, even unsafe practices performed by the organization that potentially
exposes the card data to someone other than the card holder.
Some steps we use in the remediation process are network port and vulnerability scanners.
Complete self evaluation questionnaires and network scenario questionnaires.
Sort and prioritize any vulnerability found in tests and assessments.
Apply fixes, patches, updates, and possible work around for vulnerabilities recognized.
Rescan everything again to ensure the vulnerabilities have been mitigated.

The museum displayed the work here at Bletchley Park with much pride and admiration. They believe
that the work done here by these men and women were crucial to the war effort. Because of the nature
of the work, these stories were often untold until many years after the war. In such, this museum tries
to exemplify the patriotism, struggle, and contribution the workers at Bletchley Park experienced
during the Second World War. One point myself and several others in my group were curious about,
included how they depicted the living experiences of those who lived and worked here. At times it
seemed that they represented as great working experience, despite its stressors. In other times, the

After visiting Bletchley Park, my changing understanding of British history revolved around the
utilization of women and their vital role in multiple sectors of a wartime Britain. One of the posters I
bought pictures a woman in a ball gown surrounded by military men that says, Stay mum, she s not so
dumb! . This quote is meant to demonstrate that women are listening to the men soldiers tales and
secrets that the women would use for their loyalty. Another point the museum pointed out in one
section involved the cracking of the Japanese codes, which occurred very early, pre dating the official
start of the war. The museum highlights this and then added a panel that suggested that Roosevelt
potentially had prior knowledge of Pearl Harbor before the attack, and used this attack to bring the
United States into the war. I thought this information was interesting and in some ways changed my
opinion on what President Roosevelt did and did not know before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It was
fascinating that this little manor village housed the brilliant minds that worked tirelessly to help the

Special Education Inclusion
Parents never want to hear that their child has a life altering disability that will require additional
assistance with special services. Roughly thirteen percent of public school students are receiving
special education services. Barbara Boroson, a Scholastic author on Autism Spectrum Disorder, asks
the special education inclusion population, How has education evolved from exclusion to inclusion
(Boroson, 2017). The issues with special education inclusion have been going unnoticed for many
years and now is the time for a change. Special education inclusion is an issue because it bears against
social and educational values. People all around the world have tried to fix these issues, but their
attempts have been unsuccessful. They have tried making amendments to include special needs
students in general classrooms. They have also tried to create ways to individualize criteria for each
student. These attempted solutions have not created a final answer but led us to find the perfect way to
solve inclusion s problem.
The problem with special education inclusion is involved in the amount of education each student is
receiving. Putting students with special needs into a general education classroom is minimizing how
much they are actually learning. Distractions that come with special needs kids are not allowing other
students to fully participate and listen in class. Teachers can only do so much with what their school
districts allow, which leads to another problem.

Essay on Perspectives of Pyschology
Part 1 Extended Response Psychoanalytic is the perspective that childhood sexuality and unconscious
motivations influence personality. It is accountable for the development of an introverted or
extroverted type of personality because if a person is unconsciously aware of their actions then it s
possible they do not have a lot of control over certain behaviors such as greed or pride. Also when
someone becomes fixated on any of the psychosexual stages then it can alter behaviors and will affect
personality as the child develops. So for example if a person has a very weak ego and a more
dominant superego or more dominant id then it can have a huge affect on their personality. If the
person is a do gooder then their superego will emit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is accountable for the development of an introverted or extroverted type of personality because
behavior displayed in children is often expressed similarly when they get older. So for example if a
child is often misbehaving and always gets into trouble then it s possible they will begin to think
everything they do is wrong. As the child grows older he then becomes more shy and unsociable
creating an introverted type of personality. On the other hand, if a child is often misbehaving and the
other children laugh then its likely they will act out more to amuse those other children. As the
characteristics of this child develop then its probable they will have a more extroverted type of
personality. Heredity is also a factor in the trait perspective. If a family has a history of calm, reliable,
and quiet individuals then their offspring will have the same characteristics. Social cognitive is the
perspective that behaviors are learned by observing and modeling others and emphasizes the
importance of mental processes. It is accountable for the development of an introverted or extroverted
type of personality because what children learn when they are younger affect them as they grow older.
For example if a child looks up to someone who is very talkative and carefree then its likely they will
want to model the same behaviors. Such as, talking to the new kid at school and being very laidback.
As they grow older these behaviors will then

Socrates
Socrates was one of the greatest Greek philosophers. His work was not to propose any specific
knowledge or policy: it was to show how argument, debate, and discussion could help men to
understand difficult issues. Most of the issues he dealt with were only political on the surface.
Underneath, they were moral questions about how life should be lived. Such is the influence of
Socrates that philosophers before him are called the Presocratic philosophers. Socrates made enemies,
three of whom brought charges against him. Socrates was tried for his life in 399 BC, found guilty,
and put to death by drinking hemlock. The story of his trial and death is the subject of a tract by Plato
which is called the Apologia. Most of what we know about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Plato s works, Socrates says he knows nothing, but can draw out other people s ideas just as his
mother helped other women to give birth. In 399 BC, when Socrates was an old man, three citizens
Meletus, Anytus and Lycon brought charges against Socrates. A trial was held. In ancient Athens the
procedure was quite different from the present day. There was a jury of 500 men drawn from the
citizens. Both the accusers and the defendant had to make speeches in person to the jury. Guilt or
innocence was by majority vote. There was no preset penalty if the verdict was guilty . Both the
accuser and the defendant would make speeches proposing what the penalty should be. Again, a vote
was taken. There were two charges against him. The general theme was that Socrates was a menace to
society. The first charge was of heresy, disbelief in the Gods. It was probably meant to cause prejudice
amongst the jurymen. Actually, Socrates observed all the correct procedures of the religion of his
times. The charge had been used successfully against another philosopher, Anaxagoras. The second
charge was that he corrupted the youth with his teachings. What was meant by this? Apparently, this
was not about his personal relationship with his pupils. It was about the way he was thought to
influence their political views. His circle had included a number of right wing aristocrats whose ideas
were now rejected by most citizens. The brilliant

Anti Gun Laws
In the United States there are a lot of different views about guns and gun laws. As a hunter and
outdoorsman, I own guns and use guns. As a gun owner, I believe there should be some laws and
restrictions however not a ban. Some believe all guns are bad and the only solution to end gun
violence is to ban all guns. However, people have to realize that most gun crimes are committed by
stolen or illegal fire arms. If somehow I could change the way most view guns, and to help end the
argument on the ban of firearms, it would be one less thing Americans have to argue about. There are
many kinds of guns and reasons to have guns. The most common reasons are hunting, sport shooting,
and protection. Rifles and shotguns are generally used for hunting

Congress, Mrs. Raymond Robins declared in 1917 that it was the first hour in history for the women
of the world 1 on the contrary, Beatrice Webb was almost the only to expreme a different opinion at
that time, saying that it had not significantly transform the status of women2. Historians such as
Françoise Thébaud qualified the idea of Mmrs. Raymond Robins as very common during and just
after the Great war. Like Françoise Thébaud, Janet McCalman in her book The impact of First World
war on female employment in England tends to say that the Great war did not permit a real change in
women s status. Even if the question is debated between historians, the general mind is to desegree
with the fatc that First World War conclude any permanent change in the status of women in Britain.
As my opinion tends to be on the general side, I will construct my argumentation on the idea that the
Great war did not achieve any permanent change for British women s status. First I will talk about
change in women s employment during the Great war to contextualize and counter argue the fact that

Personal Observation
Today at my internship, I observed, demonstrated exercises, and instructed the athlete s dynamic warm
ups and agility ladder drills in each class. The classes I worked today were College Prep, Linear
Acceleration, Speed and Weights, and Adult Bootcamp. Before each class, I prepped before them by
making sure that the proper equipment was set up for that particular class. For the Speed and Weights,
Adult Bootcamp, and College Prep classes, I made sure that all the weights and resistance cords were
out so that the athletes can use it for the workout circuits. For the Linear Acceleration Class, I made
sure that each athlete had a resistant cord as well as a belt so that they could attach it to the resistance
cord. In the College Prep Class, the class started out with agility ladders drills and then progressed to a
dynamic warm up then to ballistic stretching. After the dynamic warmup, the athletes did a reactive
agility drill called the Octagon in which the coach gave the athlete queues for such movements of
backpedaling, sprinting, and side shuffling. Half of the class time was spent doing the Octagon drill
and the other half of the class was spent on a full body lift circuit which consisted of weightlifting

Yosemite Valley Painting By Pablo Munoz
YOSEMITE VALLEY S MOST FAMOUS VIEW
Have you ever wonder why an artwork is so important for some people? There are many answers to
this question, but one is that an artwork is important because it portrays some kind of feelings.
Without art, our lives would simply become plain, boring and lifeless. Through art, artists can express
emotions, such as happiness, love, sadness or grief. Each form of art is different, but they somehow
connect to our souls and emotions. Therefore, if you want to feel an environment of tranquility,
harmony, and relaxation you should visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and see the beautiful
Yosemite Valley painting by Pablo Munoz. The artist concentrated his painting on distant mountains,
and rushing streams that invites viewers to admire the beauty of nature. Pablo Munoz used some
elements of art in his painting such as color, light, and line to show his viewers different emotions.
One element of art that Munoz used in his painting is color. He used color in his painting for many
reasons. For example, he used local colors, which are the colors we understand to be like the
greenness of the grass and trees, and the blueness of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be used to suggest shape, pattern, form, structure, depth, distance, rhythm, movement and a
range of emotions. For example, in the Yosemite Valley the horizontal lines of the mountains represent
distance, but also impact a sense of peacefulness. Each line has a different personality and
communicates different emotions. For example, when the lines are thin, they can represent delicate,
timid or weak, and diagonal lines show action, falling or growing. Every time when artists used lines
for nature like mountains and trees, people probably feel happy because humans have a special love
for nature because we evolved in it. For example, a person enjoys being on a place fill with many trees
when she is stress because nature helps her to

David Hume s An Enquiry Concerning The Principles Of Morals
Throughout the course of history, there have been many philosophers with different ideologies. These
philosophers have written various works to spread and support their ideologies. One philosopher who
wrote about moral thinking and judgement was Hume, supporting his ideologies in An Enquiry
Concerning the Principles of Morals. In this written work he stated that the ultimate source of moral
judgement was feelings. Additionally, he states that an individual s moral thinking was influenced by
reason. Although reason and sentiments work together towards moral judgement, the ultimate source
of moral judgement is sentiments. According to Hume, an individual acts according to their feelings,
and not with reason. As stated in Section 1 of An Enquiry

Indigenous People In The Spanish
The Spanish focused on concentrating indigenous populations in villages or missions, where they
could be Christianized and forced to work for the Crown. Within these Spanish ruled villages the
ethnic differences between indigenous peoples were dissolved and gave way to a new one with the
acquisition of the Quechua language . As a result, a new identity as Quechua speaking people emerged
in the region and the pre hispanic identities vanished (Scazzocchio a1979). It is very likely that their
pre Hispanic identities disappeared around the 17th and 18th centuries. Moreover, the Spanish rule
and the mission system imposed a social structure and classification which were to last, with some
modifications, until the first half of the 20th century.

Social Class and Education
Democracy is both an idea and a way of conducting a political government. In EDL 204 we looked at
democracy as an idea. Democracy as it relates to education refers to the need to teach children how to
be active and knowledgeable members in our democratic society. This preparation will lead them to
live life in a way that promotes the good of the public. In an essay by John Dewey he discusses
whether education is a public or private matter. Because the goal of democracy is education is to
prepare students for society, I believe it is a public matter. By developing a school system that
promotes democracy we will send our future leaders into the world with the capability of upholding
the values of a true democratic society that promotes a greater good for all citizens.
Many factors affect the success of a school system. The economic background and social class of the
community and individual students is one of the largest factors to consider when attempting to
structure a successful education plan. Social class is defined by the online Oxford Dictionary as a
division of a society based on social and economic status. This division can often effect more than a
child s home life. We know that social class and success in school are often positively correlated to
one another. This correlation is a major downfall in America s education system because it allows for
children who come from families in poverty to fall behind and be less successful than children of

is the fact that Baylor University has smaller class ratios and the professors genuinely care about their
students which is a factor most universities lack. I want to expand my academic knowledge and obtain
excellent education opportunities. Another reason of mine is that there is school spirit and a sense of
tradition among the students. I grew up in a small town where our school culture and spirit is
incredibly popular. When I go off to college, I want to have the same experience again. My third and
the final reason is that I want to be part of a university that is rapidly growing and expanding. Baylor
University is slowly gaining national recognition. The University is also undergoing a more selective
acceptance rate which shows that the University is determined to accept students who are hard
workers and committed to Baylor. If I am accepted into Baylor University, it would be such an honor.

Persuasive Essay On Water Conservation
Before tackling the problem of water conservation, it is crucial to know the aspects of the issues.
Water depletion results from lack of precipitation and dwindling amounts of snow pack that allow the
use of run off. Due to the gradual increase of climate, both of these water supplies have decreased and
research has shown the continued drop in water reserves. At this rate, the demand for water will
outweigh its supply, leading to massive drought. California especially faces this problem since it uses
the most water out of all fifty states in America. The California Water Science Center states that on
average, each Californian uses 181 gallons of water every day, which amounts to about 355,000
million gallons a year. They also state that in a typical Southern California city, the most annual
rainfall gained is 19.5 inches, which is not enough to sustain large communities. This data shows why
it is critical to conserve current stored water and reduce the use of future water obtained. A common
action that members of communities plagued with drought often participate in is wasting water while
waiting for their sink to get hot. This small daily task can waste gallons of usable water and adds to
the problem of a drought. To solve this issue, one does not need a high IQ or large amounts of money,
simply a large pitcher or container of some kind. While waiting for sink water to get hot, once can
simply fill up a container with the water that is running. Once the water is at its

The Need for an Embedded Processor
Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. CURRENT SCENARIO
In current scenario, various sensors of plant is connected to the PLC for the data communication and
PLC is program such that it give controlling output according to the threshold value of sensors. In this
if the value of sensor is below or above the sensor value then it gives the respective output. This
output is nothing but the controlling output from the PLC which gives signal to controlling device like
value or alarm etc. Also SCADA provide the Graphical user interface to the PLC unit so that any
programmer can see the process graphically with the help of SCADA. In Plant SCADA and PLC are
connected to each other which make a whole system for Data communication and its controlling.
There are various types of PLC are available in the market. The selection of the PLC can be done as
per the requirement of number of input and output associated with the plant.

Decolonization Period Of Afric A European Point Of View
Decolonization period in Africa didn t come peacefully in all the countries. Many times the natives
had to get violent in order to achieve their independence. Although the history of this struggle has two
sides, it has always been portrayed through a European point of view. This painted the Africans as
pure savages without truly examining what drove them to commit these violent acts. Europeans have
always bent history to show themselves in a positive manner. One of the battles in which history has
been mainly one sided is the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. In this paper I want to explore the true
reasons the revolt started and how the European interpretations of this took away from the real reasons
why ordinary people took part. By seeing what was used in portraying a negative image, I will try to
break down what were the events leading up to it and what hand did the British play. Examining
events that took place after the war had been won by the British. By comparing and contrasting I will
show the double standards and the importance of consistently questioning history and media. The Mau
Mau uprising is said to have started the course of independence for Kenya. Although the movement
started way before, the official date of the uprising is from 1952 through 1960 .It started with the
Kikuyu people in Central Kenya. As the Mau Mau group grew larger it became more and more

Values Of Compassio Forgiveness
We all have the ability to be compassionate towards others and forgive. Humans are born as
narcissistic beings; from the moment of birth we are selfish to our own needs. Perhaps, it has survival
value. We cry when we are hungry. We do not know or care that our parents might be busy, in a literal
sense, we are capable only of thinking of and responding to our own needs. We are, as infants, not
even capable of realizing that other people have needs, desires, or a life outside of us. As we grow up
over time, ideally, we learn compassion it becomes natural to most of us, but only to a certain point.
As such, most people never genuinely become good at it. Compassion is the ability to put ourselves in
someone else s shoes, imagine things from their perspective, and then to feel kindness for them and
seek understanding of them even if what they do is harmful to us. This usually goes against our needs
and desires, and is at odds with our own experiences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does not mean the person occupies the same place in your life; nor does it imply that you carry on as
if the transgression never happened. You can forgive someone and resolve never to see them again.
You don t distance yourself out of anger or spite but out of respect for yourself; out of a healthy need
to set new boundaries. Forgiving someone is not a gift to the person who hurt you but rather a gift to
yourself. The goal of forgiveness is freedom from resentment, bitterness, anger or hatred (Macaskill,
Maltby and Day, 2002). Harbouring these feelings cannot hurt another person but can cause you great

importantly forgiving yourself for your own mistakes. Ultimately, one cannot live harmoniously

Abstract Polygraph is widely rejected as pseudoscience by the scientific community. Prior to 1998
state and county courts allowed or could allow polygraph evidence to be admissible evidence to
convict or prove guilt. Polygraphs should not be used in Court Rooms, the accuracy of the test have

Rule 707 was the evidentiary rule focused on in the case. Rule 707 serves the legitimate interest of
ensuring that only reliable evidence is introduced. Here the decision turned on the issue of whether the
defendant is impaired by not being able to use the results from the polygraph to prove his innocence
and to lay the foundation for the reliability on the results. In this case, Rule 707 did not implicate a
sufficiently weighty interest of the accused to raise a constitutional concern under this Court s
precedents. The three cases principally relied upon by the Court of Appeals, Rock v. Arkansas, 483
U.S. 44, 55, Washington v. Texas, 388 U.S. 14, 23, and Chambers v. Mississippi, 410 U.S. 284, 302
303, which did not support a right to introduce polygraph evidence, even in very narrow
circumstances. The exclusions of evidence there declared unconstitutional significantly undermined
fundamental elements of the accuser s defense. That was not the circumstances in US v. Scheffer,
where the court members heard all the relevant details of the charged offense from respondent s
perspective, and Rule 707 did not preclude him from introducing any factual evidence, but merely
barred him from introducing expert opinion testimony to bolster his own credibility.

Essay On Lymph Node Transfer
Lymph Node Transfer
WHAT IS LYMPH NODE TRANSFER?
Lymphedema is caused by the damage or removal of lymph nodes. Lymph nodes cleanse lymph, the
fluid that drips from the blood vessels. Without properly working lymph nodes unwanted cells are
passed through the blood resulting in lymphedema.
However, this can be treated; lymph node transfer is a microsurgical transplant in which the lymph
nodes are taken from a healthy limb and put into the limb with lymphedema to wipe out the unwanted
cells. The transferred lymph nodes connect to the lymphatic system in the limb they were place in,
replacing the damaged or removed lymph nodes. This will cleanse the lymph of the unwanted cells,
which brings down the swelling. It has been reported that the procedure works best when done in the
earlier stages of lymphedema, lymph node transfer works best in the arms than ... Show more content

containing the healthy lymph nodes
4. Another incision is made in limb containing lymphedema.

damaged tissue.
6. The doctor then reconnects the blood vessels

RISKS
As said before, lymphedema is caused by the damage or removal of lymph nodes in the lymphatic
system. When the healthy lymph nodes are taken from the patient s body that limb can be left
vulnerable to lymphedema because it s lymph nodes had been removed, which is the cause of
lymphedema, but this is uncommon for this procedure. Other risks include bleeding, infection, and the
clotting of blood vessels to the lymph nodes.

Wassily Kandinsky Research Paper
Research Paper: Wassily Kandinsky
Shelby Steinbach
Des Moines Area Community College
April 2017
Wassily Kandinsky has been part of my fascination and love for art for approximately ten years now.
Beginning when I was a freshman in high school, and every year as part of our art classes, my
instructor would do small units on art theory and highlight artists throughout those units, Kandinsky
included. While my talents, in particular, are somewhat limited to what I can represent, Kandinsky
was the first to break Western art s most important rule: that art need to depict anything (Frank, 396).
As the first to break away from art being representational, Kandinsky opened other avenues of
expression, as well (Wassily Kandinsky.org). Surrealism, the movement I am most fascinated by, is
something I believe is a natural extension from art representing nothing, to art representing multiple
things. Der Blaue Reiter, painted in 1903 is important for several reasons. Leaning more towards
Impressionism, it is one of the more famous paintings from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

personality is dark and unhappy which has been blamed accordingly to the men in his life. The men
David Poe and John Allan have impacted his life by abandonment, money, and not being loyal to him.
During Edgar Allan Poe s life men have had a negative lasting impact, more specifically his father

Christ’s Resurrection Foretold and Witnessed
I suppose, since I became a Christian (born again July 31, 1975), I have heard a lot of different
opinions concerning different areas and events of the Bible. Of all the topics and points of interest,
none has intrigued me as much as the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. As you read this study there is one main point that all Christians will agree on. It may not be
the day of the week or the hour of the day Jesus died, but we will all agree to the fact that Jesus did
arise from the dead and is currently at the right hand of God the Father. You might be a religious
person, yet not believe Jesus arose from the dead. That belief would not negate you from being
religious, but it would negate a profession ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It shall be a Sabbath of Rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
Just as the tenth day of the seventh month comes on different days of the week, and the tenth day is
known as Sabbath, it stands to reason that there isn t just one Sabbath in every week. Just as the
seventh month and tenth day is to be the day of atonement, (a Sabbath of Rest) and it may fall on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or whatever day of the week, there is still a seventh day of the week
(Saturday) Sabbath in that same week.
It was such a Holy day, a Sabbath day, approaching when Jesus was crucified. (John 19:31, KJV). The
Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies shall not remain upon the cross on the
Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was a high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,
and that they might be taken away. (KJV). Therefore it stands to reason there were two Sabbath s in
the week of crucifixion: 1) the high day Sabbath, 2) the seventh day of the week, Saturday. With this
in mind, it would be very possible for Jesus to have been Crucified prior to the beginning of

Personal Narrative-Moira s Big Gig
Moira s Big Gig I thought I had it all down until that very moment. Its casting night for the middle
school play. Me as an 8th grader went in pretty confident, and I was determined to get a part. Even
though last year for me as a 7th grader didn t go quite well for me. I kept working hard for the next
year, to make my skills better. At additions i usually stumble over my words so I feel shy and that I let
myself down. But castings were postaed the next morning. Me feeling the rush of adrenaline, I speed
down the hallway. I look frantically at the list, my heart pounding. My eyes moving so fast looking for
my name. Finally there I see it my name posted by the charter Moira Flynn I smlied with joy and
excitement wondering what the next few months would bring. It s the first day of rehearsal we laugh
and review our parts. The next day we start blocking then we put it all together. Its January 12th and

The morning of the dress rehearsal I go over my lines once more. The cast was told that we would go
to first and second and then leave for third. Some people were so nervous they were biting, some
running around with excitement. As for me I feel excited but as the show gets closer and closer my
mind is having confits. We get to the stage and put on our costumes and makeup. My hands were so
shaky I had to have someone else do my make up. Wendy said Ok everyone gather up for warm ups!
we start with baby shark and then on to Rock the boat. A couple mints later I hear the door opened
outside of the stage. I lean over to my friend Lizzy who also is in the play and I say They are here, not
long until we perform ! We both make tense faces as the number of butterflies multiply in my
stomach. A few minutes later all of students are seated it s time to start. The cast members are running
around like ants trying to find food. All of a sudden the lights go down and the crowd goes

The 1990s marked a new era for Australian films. The biggest changes in the Australian film industry
in the 1990s was the arrival of the DVD in 1999 and the Internet which enabled people to access films
online, causing less people to go to the cinemas which had a huge impact on the film industry. The
2000s marked the start of a new century and an advanced film industry.
Television:
Television has had many changes in pop culture since 1945 and has been an important part of
Australia s national identity. Television was first introduced in Australia in September 1956, which
was introduced just before the 1956 Olympics hosted in Melbourne, television was first screened in
grainy black and white. For the first few years after television had been released in Australia,
television was mainly dominated by American programs, however in a few years it had become the
most popular form of entertainment. Television decreased the audience of the radio programs and in
1965 it was around 9 out of 10 Australian families that owned a Television set. By 1959, it was
estimated that over 50 percent of families in Sydney owned a television set. Early Australian
television broadcast news, quiz programmes, movies, music programmes and sport. There was only a
few television studios to produce programs in Australia at the time which meant most local content
had to be broadcasted live. In 1966 Australia

They often closed out their set with Sister Ray, jamming out for up to thirty minutes, sometimes more. The studio recording of it was a single take that lasts over seventeen minutes. 4. The Kingsmen Louie Louie This song was a Richard Berry single from 1955, which The Kingsmen covered in 1963 at Northwestern, Inc., Motion Pictures and Recording, located in Portland. Like many single take recordings, the track contains an audible error just after the first guitar break. Jack Ely starts singing the second verse too early and stopped himself short, creating a gap that drummer Lynn Easton smoothly filled with a clever drum fill. A Brief Note On The Green Building Movement The Green Building Movement North American homes, offices and other buildings contribute an estimated 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year more than one third of the continent s greenhouse gas pollution output (Biello). Global warming is a worldwide issue that is thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is one of the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone layer causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are simple methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green building is a building process that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout the whole building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up to the demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is very important throughout each stage in the project. This process can lead to a much better and easier way to help the global warming issue throughout the world. Many people may oppose to green building because of the higher cost for new equipment and materials that are environmental friendly (Rajendran). Barbara Boroson, a Scholastic author on Autism Spectrum Disorder, asks the special education inclusion population, How has education evolved from exclusion to inclusion (Boroson, 2017). The issues with special education inclusion have been going unnoticed for many years and now is the time for a change. Special education inclusion is an issue because it bears against social and educational values. People all around the world have tried to fix these issues, but their attempts have been unsuccessful. They have tried making amendments to include special needs students in general classrooms. They have also tried to create ways to individualize criteria for each student. These attempted solutions have not created a final answer but led us to find the perfect way to solve inclusion s problem. The problem with special education inclusion is involved in the amount of education each student is receiving. Putting students with special needs into a general education classroom is minimizing how much they are actually learning. Distractions that come with special needs kids are not allowing other students to fully participate and listen in class. As the child grows older he then becomes more shy and unsociable creating an introverted type of personality. On the other hand, if a child is often misbehaving and the other children laugh then its likely they will act out more to amuse those other children. In 399 BC, when Socrates was an old man, three citizens Meletus, Anytus and Lycon brought charges against Socrates. A trial was held. In ancient Athens the procedure was quite different from the present day. There was a jury of 500 men drawn from the citizens. Both the accusers and the defendant had to make speeches in person to the jury. Guilt or innocence was by majority vote. There was no preset penalty if the verdict was guilty . Both the accuser and the defendant would make speeches proposing what the penalty should be. Again, a vote was taken. There were two charges against him. The general theme was that Socrates was a menace to society. The first charge was of heresy, disbelief in the Gods. It was probably meant to cause prejudice amongst the jurymen. Actually, Socrates observed all the correct procedures of the religion of his times. The charge had been used successfully against another philosopher, Anaxagoras. The second charge was that he corrupted the youth with his teachings. What was meant by this? Apparently, this was not about his personal relationship with his pupils. There are many answers to this question, but one is that an artwork is important because it portrays some kind of feelings. Without art, our lives would simply become plain, boring and lifeless. Through art, artists can express emotions, such as happiness, love, sadness or grief. Each form of art is different, but they somehow connect to our souls and emotions. Therefore, if you want to feel an environment of tranquility, harmony, and relaxation you should visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and see the beautiful Yosemite Valley painting by Pablo Munoz. The artist concentrated his painting on distant mountains, and rushing streams that invites viewers to admire the beauty of nature. Pablo Munoz used some elements of art in his painting such as color, light, and line to show his viewers different emotions. One element of art that Munoz used in his painting is color. He used color in his painting for many reasons. For example, he used local colors, which are the colors we understand to be like the greenness of the grass and trees, and the blueness of ... For example, when the lines are thin, they can represent delicate, timid or weak, and diagonal lines show action, falling or growing. • 28. Social Class and Education Democracy is both an idea and a way of conducting a political government. In EDL 204 we looked at democracy as an idea. Democracy as it relates to education refers to the need to teach children how to be active and knowledgeable members in our democratic society. This preparation will lead them to live life in a way that promotes the good of the public. In an essay by John Dewey he discusses whether education is a public or private matter. Because the goal of democracy is education is to prepare students for society, I believe it is a public matter. By developing a school system that promotes democracy we will send our future leaders into the world with the capability of upholding the values of a true democratic society that promotes a greater good for all citizens. Many factors affect the success of a school system. The economic background and social class of the community and individual students is one of the largest factors to consider when attempting to structure a successful education plan. Social class is defined by the online Oxford Dictionary as a division of a society based on social and economic status. This division can often effect more than a child s home life. We know that social class and success in school are often positively correlated to one another. This correlation is a major downfall in America s education system because it allows for children who come from families in poverty to fall behind and be less successful than children of higher ... • 32. Persuasive Essay On Water Conservation Before tackling the problem of water conservation, it is crucial to know the aspects of the issues. Water depletion results from lack of precipitation and dwindling amounts of snow pack that allow the use of run off. Due to the gradual increase of climate, both of these water supplies have decreased and research has shown the continued drop in water reserves. At this rate, the demand for water will outweigh its supply, leading to massive drought. California especially faces this problem since it uses the most water out of all fifty states in America. The California Water Science Center states that on average, each Californian uses 181 gallons of water every day, which amounts to about 355,000 million gallons a year. They also state that in a typical Southern California city, the most annual rainfall gained is 19.5 inches, which is not enough to sustain large communities. This data shows why it is critical to conserve current stored water and reduce the use of future water obtained. A common action that members of communities plagued with drought often participate in is wasting water while waiting for their sink to get hot. This small daily task can waste gallons of usable water and adds to the problem of a drought. Many times the natives had to get violent in order to achieve their independence. Although the history of this struggle has two sides, it has always been portrayed through a European point of view. This painted the Africans as pure savages without truly examining what drove them to commit these violent acts. Europeans have always bent history to show themselves in a positive manner. One of the battles in which history has been mainly one sided is the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. In this paper I want to explore the true reasons the revolt started and how the European interpretations of this took away from the real reasons why ordinary people took part. By seeing what was used in portraying a negative image, I will try to break down what were the events leading up to it and what hand did the British play. Examining events that took place after the war had been won by the British. By comparing and contrasting I will show the double standards and the importance of consistently questioning history and media. Humans are born as narcissistic beings; from the moment of birth we are selfish to our own needs. Perhaps, it has survival value. We cry when we are hungry. We do not know or care that our parents might be busy, in a literal sense, we are capable only of thinking of and responding to our own needs. We are, as infants, not even capable of realizing that other people have needs, desires, or a life outside of us. As we grow up over time, ideally, we learn compassion it becomes natural to most of us, but only to a certain point. As such, most people never genuinely become good at it. Compassion is the ability to put ourselves in someone else s shoes, imagine things from their perspective, and then to feel kindness for them and seek understanding of them even if what they do is harmful to us. However, this can be treated; lymph node transfer is a microsurgical transplant in which the lymph nodes are taken from a healthy limb and put into the limb with lymphedema to wipe out the unwanted cells. The transferred lymph nodes connect to the lymphatic system in the limb they were place in, replacing the damaged or removed lymph nodes. Beginning when I was a freshman in high school, and every year as part of our art classes, my instructor would do small units on art theory and highlight artists throughout those units, Kandinsky included. While my talents, in particular, are somewhat limited to what I can represent, Kandinsky was the first to break Western art s most important rule: that art need to depict anything (Frank, 396). As the first to break away from art being representational, Kandinsky opened other avenues of expression, as well (Wassily Kandinsky.org). Surrealism, the movement I am most fascinated by, is something I believe is a natural extension from art representing nothing, to art representing multiple things.
