Shell Petroleum Discovery Of Nigeria Essay
Introduction
In 1956, Shell Petroleum discovered oil in commercial quantity in Nigeria. Within a decade, oil
exploration speedily replaced agriculture as the mainstay of the country s economy. In 2006,
roughly 97 percent of exchange revenue and about 80 percent of all government expenditures came
from petroleum proceeds . The Niger Delta region is located at the southernmost part of Nigeria
and comprises of nine states; Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers State, Abia,
Imo and Ondo states. The region constitutes 7.5% of Nigeria s land mass, yet it is the nerve
center of Nigeria s oil industry as it produces 100% of its oil and gas and generates more than
80% of all revenues . Aside the Niger Delta s huge fossil fuel reserves, its numerous rivers, streams
and fertile lands make fishing, farming and hunting the major economic activities of the natives .
While the region is the nerve center for the oil industry, approximately 69 percent of the residents
lives in an abject poverty and squalor. How can logic explain a highly productive region becoming a
theater to acute economic deprivation? To answer the question, there is a need to understand how
oil corporations conduct business in the area. One must appreciate the intricate relationship among
the federal government, the oil corporations and the Niger Deltans.
The paper s intent is to demonstrate that oil producing communities in Nigeria are adversely
affected by oil exploration. The first part

What Is The Role Of Monastic Issues In Preserving Roman...
This historical study will examine the problems of monastic issues in preservation of roman
civilization and the problem of Christian conversions for pagan societies in Europe during the early
Medieval period of Europe. The purpose of European monasteries was to act in accordance with the
Church of Rome s policy to preserve Roman traditions in government and Christian practices in
primarily pagan tribal communities. During this time, the primary writings of St. Benedict define
the purpose of the monasteryto spread Christianityas a source of religious power throughout Europe.
More so, the role of monastic culture in Europe society defines the preservation of roman
administration and culture throughout areas considered to be barbaric , such as the German tribal
kingdom along the Rhine that St. Columban describes in the Boat Song. In addition to preserving
Christian society in the Roman Catholic model, the writings of St. Columba define the monastic
rules of the early medieval monastery as a vehicle to promote Roman Catholic cultural values as a
replacement for the polder pagan tribal models found throughout Europe. In essence, the successful
rise of Roman Catholic monasteries in the early medieval period define the problems of preserving
Roman civilization and by converting pagans that monks had to endure within European pagan
culture. The preservation of Roman culture and administration was a crucial problem for monks
during the 5th and 6th centuries throughout Germany

Examples Of Romanticism In Grendel Chapter 4
One movement I observed throughout chapter 4 of Grendel is romanticism. Romanticism is an
intellectual movement that where the artist s emotions toward his audience is the true. In addition,
Gardener described how people showed the positive aspects of the world through creative ideas
such as music, poetry, and images. On page 49, Gardener s use of romanticismis when Grendel
noticed how the Shaper reshaped the world. In addition, He stared strange eyed at the mindless
world and turns dry sticks to gold (Gardener). This quote clearly exemplifies romanticism to show
that the Shaper had influenced the Danes about the positive world he envisioned after the war in
Chapter 3. In order to show his vision that he said through his songs, he brought the idea of a new
meadhall that would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knew the Shaper was tricking the people to believe in him. Another example of Gardner s use
of romanticism is the Shaper told the story about the ancient feud between two brothers which
split the entire world between darkness and light (Gardener, pg. 50). This quote exemplifies
romanticism as the allegory of Cain and Abel. The Shaper represented Cain as darkness and
Abel as the light. Grendel honestly admitted he was the dark side because he was a descendant
of Cain. Because the Shaper s words were powerful, it made Grendel depressed. He knew that he
was cursed by God, due to the curse he inherited from Cain. However, he looked at the corpse
where the man was slaughtered by a group of men in order to conclude that both him and men were
sinful and imperfect. As proof, Grendel had seen humans kill each other throughout chapter 1 4. As
the darkness is increased through Grendel s heart, Grendel now feels the Shaper s foolishness
towards tricking the humans, foreseeing a plan to destroy humanity. John Gardner implemented
romanticism in order to show that romanticism can lead people to

Ipod Persuasive Essay
In today s world, in general, life moves faster. Daily routines would not feel complete without
technology. Often it is believed that technology becomes worthless when one does not know how
to use it. Without the internet or television millions of people would go without the news and
events happening at the waking moment. Along with the advances in technology comes a great
dilemma to be explored of when an overload of technology has been reached and may result in
destruction of mankind. Technology includes most products that are manufacturer in factories
every day. Take iPods for example, they provide the soundtrack to many people s lives but mainly

Steve Jobs Essay
Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in Los Altos, California. He is Co founder, Chairman,
and former CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak high school friends and both
college dropouts joined together to start Apple Computer in 1976. They are credited for inventing
the first computer for home use. They made it possible for people to have a computer anywhere
in their home, or on an office desk, where previously a single computer took up a whole room.

and what they make easier in our lives. No one goes out and says oh I m going to buy a MP3
player that s only 29.00$, they re going to want to buy Apples iPod even if they have the same

In conclusion, Steve Jobs changed the world not only with the invention of the Apple II in 76

Hernan Cortes Essay
Hernan Cortes
Myths are hangups from way back :[1] false or highly inaccurate beliefs that are taken at face
value. One collection of myths which has exercised a powerful grip on the minds of many, and
contributed to feelings of inferiority on the part of large numbers of pure or mixed descendants of
Native Americans in the region of northern Mesoamerica,2 has to do with the conquest of the Aztec
Empire by HernanCortes and his followers in the early sixteenth century. This paper attempts to
shatter one of these myths; namely, that Cortes was an extraordinarily brave and intelligent
individual who accomplished an almost miraculous feat. It will do so by making use of the twin
concepts of virtu and fortuna.
These two terms are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both decisions were based on his ignorance of the actual power of the Triple Alliance and the
confederation of Tlaxcallan.[7]
Cortes underestimated these two because of his early experiences in Mesoamerica. Although they
initially tried to avoid confrontations with the native communities, the Spaniards had to engage in
several battles against a coalition of Maya armies near Potonchan (located in the present day state
of Tabasco). However, they were able to win these battles thanks to the superiority of their weapons
and military tactics.
The outcome of these skirmishes was quickly known! by the Triple Alliance. As a result, when
Cortes arrived in the region of Totonacapan, this alliance opted in favor of a strategy of deterrence
rather than war. Envoys sent by Tenochtitlan established contact with Cortes and presented him
with a series of lavish gifts that were meant to indicate the might of the Triple Alliance.[8]
However, the strategy backfired because Cortes was unable to grasp the symbolism of the gifts and
interpreted them as a sign of weakness. Moreover, the great quantity of gold given to the Spaniards
made them all the more determined to reach Tenochtitlan.

Justice System Is Failing Young Black Men Summary
Justice System is Failing Young Black Men In the passage title Justice System is Failing Young
Black Men , the author, Laurence Steinbery discusses the issue is that Obama s initiative is real for
helping young black man or not. In fact, the author claimed that the program can solved some
problems, but it has a few doubt that it needs to fix it. The author start off by mention that the
program hoped to developed young black men by self control. In addition, Steinbery discusses that
the program wants to help teenager learning social cognitive skills. Moreover, the author observes
that the justice system with colored glasses judged young black men. Indeed, the author claims that
incarcerating impeded young black men have a second chance. However, the author discusses that

Speech Is Power Of Speech Changed The Course Of History Essay
Ralph Waldo Emerson expressed the importance of speech in one short sentence: Speech is
power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. In 2008, the power of speech changed the
course of history; the first African American president was elected, transcending years of racial
inequality. For many blacks in the U.S., and many around the world, Barack Obamas presidency
was a step closer to righting America s 400 year old wrong: slavery and subsequent
discrimination toward the black race. Obama s victory was traced back to his powerful speech and
his natural ability to charismatically orate. In the end, however, it was Obama s political
philosophy that persuaded individuals to support him. Following his victory in 2008, President
Barack Obama used rhetoric to advocate for change, hope, and a united America where the
window of opportunity could remain open for all. The son of a white American mother and a
black Kenyan father, Barack Hussein Obama II spent most of his life feeling excluded in the
racially homogenous state of Hawaii. Despite his childhood hardships, Obama graduated from
Columbia University with a political science major in 1983. Later, he entered Harvard Law
School where he became the first black president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review in 1990
(Nelson). Although a great majority of the journal s staff was conservative, Obama won as a
liberal by promising that he would treat all political beliefs equally and fairly a promise he was

Similarities And Differences Between Fear And Anxiety
ANXIETY
Rachman defines Anxiety as a tense anticipation of a threatening but vague event; a feeling of
uneasy suspense (Rachman, 2004). It is a negative affect so closely related to fear that in many
circumstances the two terms are used interchangeably. Fear and Anxiety are similar: both of them
are elicited by the same processes. But they have many differences. While the physiological
activation generated by Fear might be strongly intense and happen suddenly, the state on discomfort
linked with anxiety is protracted and the sensation of being tense is less intense but pervasive. In
addition Fear is generated by a specific object or event that because of its dangerous caracteristics

it as a sense of dread or panic. Although panic attacks are not experienced by every person who has
anxiety, they are a common symptom. Panic attacks usually come without warning, and although
the fear is generally irrational, the perception of danger is very real. A person experiencing a panic

Rousseau And Wollstonecraft On The Lack Of Equality
Rousseau and Wollstonecraft on the Lack of Equality We are not supposed to be all equal. Let s
just forget that. We are supposed to have equal rights under law. If we do that, we have done
enough. said Ben Stein, an iconic commentator on political and economic issues. But is it
enough? Of course everyone is not born equal but if we were to be alike under the law, does that
mean inequalities are to disappear in households and in governments? If we re not supposed to be
equal according to Ben, then where does inequality come from and what are the consequences of
it? Jean Jacques Rousseau in The Basic Political Writings and Mary Wollstonecraft in A
Vindication of the Rights of Woman serves to answers those questions. The two authors offer a
very different assessment from each other on the matter but for me personally, I can relate to both
sides of the argument. Rousseau s claim that nearly all inequalities result from social institutions is
very appealing because it s essentially claiming to be the origin of inequality and Wollstonecraft on
the other hand dives deeper into the subject matter to discuss a very specific inequality, the lack of
gender equalityand the consequences of it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rousseau argues that people are naturally equal before societies existed because people lived in
solitude before rules and communication with one another existed. He claims that prior to reason
there are two principles that existed, self preservation and pity. (2011: 42) Self preservation or love
of self drove humans to find food and shelter, pity on the other hand is what led humans to create
society because naturally humans cannot stand to see others suffer and perish. Thus, the creation of
societies is what created inequalities among humans according to Rousseau but Wollstonecraft
couldn t disagree

Dharma in the Mahabharta Essays
Dharma in the Mahabharta
The concept of dharma is the most central and core concept of Hindu philosophy, all the other
principles and values flow from the beautiful fountain of Dharma (Srinivasan n.d., 1). Consequently,
the Hindu scriptures present many examples of its importance in a variety of ways. The two epics
Mahabharata and Ramayana are particularly interesting in their presentation of dharma.
Dharma is Sanskrit word with many different connotations that are mostly of ethical nature. Thus
far, there has not been a parallel word found for it in English or any language that truly signifies the
essence of it. It comes from the root word, dhr, which literally means to uphold, sustain, and
maintain a thing in its being. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of dharma is very broad and is very difficult to grasp because there is no clear cut
definition of dharma that captures the essence of it. However, one can try to see how the works
like the Mahabharata approach the concept. The epic mainly deals with the loss and
reestablishment of dharma on Earth. For whensoever Dharma declines and Adharma uprises, the
Bhagavan (god) creates himself to guard the good and to destroy the wicked; to establish the
Dharma firmly, he comes into being again and again (Sukthankar 1998, 79). In the Mahabharata,
the story goes that Earth burdened by the tyranny of demonic kings then ruling requests Visnu to
relieve her burden; and Visnu decides to do so by, along with other heavenly beings: gods, rsis,
gandharvas, kinnaras and so on, taking birth among the Yadavas. A war is fought with purpose of
ending the tyranny of the demonic kings and restoring dharma on decline due to the tyranny, also,
in turn relieving Earth s burden. However, all this does not take place with such simplicity. The
Mahabharata War, as one remembers, was fought between cousins, the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
Throughout history many wars between cousins have taken place, then what makes the
Mahabharata War so special to gain such recognition. As it turns out, what gives this trivial tale of
petty

Mr. Giblin s The Riddle Of The Rosetta Stone
Mr. Giblin makes it very clear from his text, The Riddle of The Rosetta Stone, that in his mind,
the scholar Jean Francois Champollion, is the greatest contributor to solving the riddle of the
Rosetta Stone. He does this by letting the reader know how significant the discovery of the stone
was and by providing in depth information on the life of Champollion both before and after his
work on the stone. Giblin provides vivid detail about stone and uses strong language to
emphasize to his reader how significant the discovery of the stone was. His viewpoint is made
clear by his description of the stone as, the famed Rosetta Stone. His adoration of the stone is
made clear when he says that the table top sized slab is more valuable than the other, larger things
in the room.: He also tells the reader how important the writing and symbols on the stone are by
saying they, gave 19th century scholars their first key to the secrets of ancient Egypt. In his view,
of all the languages written on the stone, the most important writing was the Egyptian writing. He
discusses how each scholar was eager to be the first to decipher the mysterious hieroglyphs. Giblim

Furthermore, the researches included a chaplain and a social worker in the survey, thus making
the suitability of the participants questionable, which may invalidate the results (Parahoo, 2014).
The study concluded that the majority of healthcare providers (HP S) were supportive of FWR
(73%) despite concerns regarding the behaviour of family members and concern for the
emotional burden that they associated with witnessing resuscitation. However, most participants
stressed that they would prefer a designated member of staff to accompany the witnesses during
the resuscitation (Lederman and Wacht, 2014). In contrast, a study by Bushby et al (2012),
which comprised of a self completed anonymous questionnaire of all HP s within the ED of a
single Australian hospital; found that the preponderance of staff who were opposed to FWR
perceived that it would have a negative emotional impact on the family member. Their concerns
focused on the prospect of the witness developing Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
However, there is a wealth of strong evidence to suggest the contrary (Jabre et al, 2013; Hanson et

What is low back pain.
Lower back pain can be defined as pain felt in the lower back. If you were to draw a horizontal
line that divides the back into two equal parts, the lower back in this regard would be back to
start slightly below this line (about 2 cm) and ending at the waist. The pain in this area can be
acute, sudden onset and may limit or interfere with daily activity. It can also be a dull pain that
sometimes occurs near the waistline, and thigh, leg or foot (sciatica). The pain is limited to the
back without radiating down the leg is most common. Lower back pain can be classified as:
Acute back pain This is usually is sudden onset and lasts a few days or weeks, usually no more than
6 weeks.
Pain chronic lumbar refers to pain that lasts more than three months. Pain can be a persistent dull
pain constant, can be progressive, or can only be aggravated by certain activities.
Low back pain (sometimes known as lumbago) is one of the most common complaints that
patients have in the department of patients outside. About 55% of all visits to the orthopedic
clinic will be related to back pain. Although the condition is more common in older people, it can
also occur in younger people, but the predisposing factors and the causes may be different in
relation to age group. (See back pain you need to know for details on the causes)

adolescent usage of cannabis. Previous research compiled by Griffith Lendering, Huijbregts,
Huizink, Ormel, Verhulst, Vollebergh and Swaab (2011) shows cannabis is one of the most widely
used substances, with frequent occurrence among young adults. Cannabis usage during this
developmental time is linked to educational problems, increased use of other illegal drugs and
deviant behavior. Other factors that lead to increased use of cannabis include low socioeconomic
status, poor academic performance, early usage of tobacco and alcohol, family problems, and
externalized behavior. Studying precursors of cannabis use is important to preventing not only
cannabis use, but also the use of other illegal drugs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contributed to the downfall of the Aztecs. Not only did the Spanish have many advantages over
the Aztecs, but also they also exploited them and took advantage of the cultural difference. The
main key aspects to the Spanish victory, is that the Spanish were viewed as gods at first because

This brings a logical explanation for why the Chinese refused to let Europeans into their culture.
The Chinese did not commit the same mistake as the Aztecs, The Chinese strictly controlled all
aspects of contact between all European encounters and Chinese people, this is the main reason
why the Chinese people were not as badly exploited and exterminated as the Aztecs were. This
shows that wherever European powers got involved, they cause a great deal of damage to the point
of extermination to other cultures as in the case of the Aztec Empire.
Broken Spears offered detailed description of actual events during the Spanish conquests. Although
it seemed to be somewhat unclear, it was highly descriptive and had a high probability of accuracy.

Reasons For Being A Career As A Nurse
Working as a nurse
I am often asked: Why Did You Choose Nursing as a Career? What inspires young people to
study to become a nurse? I would like the opportunity to present some reasons for choosing nursing
as a profession. Before I present the reasons, I would like to shed light on the history of modern
nursing.
Florence Nightingale laid the foundation of professional nursing with the establishment of her
nursing school in London in 1860. She was known as the Lady with the Lamp from her night
rounds tending wounded soldiers in the Crimean War that lasted from 1853 to 1856. Her actions
and writings set in motion a new health care reform, and she played a key role in introducing new
professional training standards for nurses.

The nurse would have to explain the visiting hours and that the doctors have not made their rounds
yet and that your medical condition is not something to be discussed over the phone. A nurse has
to be a compassionate listener and with a great deal of empathy to be a good nurse.
Another reason to choose nursing is the opportunity to learn new things every day and to
challenge yourself in new situations requiring different sets of skills for each task. One can learn
something new from colleagues and patients on a daily basis, and can be inspired to explore
greater knowledge of the techniques and procedures. As a nurse, you have the opportunity to work
in in a variety of medical settings and situations.
Experiencing different cultures is another reason to choose nursing. Diversity can enrich one s life
working as a nurse. You gain respect in your community and you become known as a good person
that is trustworthy. If you stay in a hospital for some time, you might forget the doctor that spent
five minutes with you every day, but you will dearly remember the nurse that gave you the extra
meal or got you the extra blanket for the cold

The Transition From Art Nouveau To Art Deco
English Decorative Arts: The Transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco
Parallels can be seen running throughout the two movements and the following essay highlights the
similarities and differences within the two styles and the causes of the fall from one and the rise of
the other.
Art Nouveau was likewise strongly influenced by the Pre Raphaelite movement which contained
prominent artists such as Edward Burne Jones and John William Waterhouse (Meagher, 2017).
This romantic style exhibited a return to nature; common themes were leaves, flowers, tendrils,
and insects. Whiplash curves and flowing lines were prominently featured. Art Nouveau
portrayals of women were erotic and sensual and many images depicted nudes and these images
were originally shocking to the public (Hoffman, 2017) . Artists preferred a pallet of natural
colours with soft muted tones of browns, olive greens, blues, and mustard yellow (Marinica,
2017). Advertisers procured these images and adopted the style to produce posters and newspaper
advertisements promoting a variety of goods. The Czech artist Alphonse Mucha produced works of
this type ( Alphonse Maria Mucha Complete Works 2017 , 2017).
Artisans of the Aesthetic movement advocated art for art s sake and created works purely for
beauty and never for function (Easby, 2017). James Abbot McNeil Whistler the artist who painted
Whistlers Mother, was associated with this genre ( James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1834 1903 |
Tate , 2017).

40 Yard Dash Research Paper
The most important event in my life was when I beat the record for the fastest time in running
the 40 yard dash for all of the University in the whole world, and for Kentucky University track
team. It took place at the Mercede Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 12,
1922. The day after my grandpa died from helping a lady crossing the street when a car came
and the driver was texting and then suddenly ran him over. So if I would win nationals I would
dedicate the win for him. Before I was about to run the 40 yd. dash the whole track team and
Coach Saban prayed for, we can win the track meet. Once our praying time was done the whole
team ran out to the track all electrified and pumped up to win this meet. After 30 minutes into the

Installing An Ide Disk On A Linux System
The purpose of this document is to detail the various steps needed to install, make ready, and
mount an IDE disk on a Linux system. The process starts first with the cabling and physical
installation of the disk. Next it is key to ensure the computer s BIOS is properly configured to
allow access to the drive. Once the machine can see the physical drive the next step is to prepare
the drive to accept data by partitioning the drive for the desired disk layout. Finally, the drive is
mounted within the filesystem hierarchy so it may be accessed by the end user. Installing the
Drive The first step in this process is the physical installation of the drive. While the process of
installing an IDE drive is more involved than a SATA drive it is still easily accomplished if a
few precautious are followed. The first step is to configure the jumper on the back of the IDE
drive. Refer to the sticker on the drive itself or the manufacturer data sheet to identify the correct
jumper position. Move the jumper on the back of the drive to the master position. There may be a
CS or CSEL which stands for Cable Select. This should allow the computer to make the assignment
based on cable position however this requires a special IDE cable (Chukov, n.d.). Simply setting the
jumper itself is a simpler and delivers more consistent results. The second step is to identify the IDE
headers on the computer motherboard with the help of the computer or motherboard manual.

The Pros And Cons Of Multitasking
Having single pointed focus and no multitasking In today s modern hustle and bustle, people are
very much preoccupied by their work, are always in hurry, engrossed in busy schedules and
easily get agitated so much so that people have ingrained and imbibed a word to describe their
efforts to respond to the many pressing demands on our time: Multitasking. Used for decades to
describe the parallel processing abilities of computers, multitasking is now shorthand for the
human attempt to do simultaneously as many things as possible and as quickly as possible. But
more recently, ill effects of multitasking have begun to emerge. Numerous studies have shown the
sometimes fatal danger of using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving, for
example, and several states have now made that particular form of multitasking illegal ! Dr.
Edward Hallowell, a Massachusetts based psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder and has written a book with the self explanatory title CrazyBusy, has
been offering therapies to combat extreme multitasking for years; in his book he calls multitasking
a mythical activity in which people believe they can perform two or more tasks simultaneously. In
one recent study, Russell Poldrack, a psychology professor at the University of California, Los
Angeles, found that multitasking adversely affects how you learn. Even if you learn while
multitasking, that learning is less flexible and more

Argumentative Essay On Sesame Street And Medusa
Furthermore, in June 2017, Sesame Street introduced a new female character named Redusa.
Redusa is passionate about keeping the Earth clean, and she uses her magic wand to recycle (
The Recycling Fairy ). I find Redusa s name ironic because it rhymes with Medusa. However, I
believe, Sesame Street, provided a twist to Redusa s name because her sole purpose is to heal
the Earth, contrary to Medusa who became a monster by insulting Athena, the Greek God of War.
In other words, unlike Medusa, Redusa is in control of her destiny. Redusa s independence
teaches girls the importance of preserving Mother Earth, while simultaneously emphasizing
women s freedom. Sesame Workshop has also worked to be more inclusive of the LGBT+
community in recent years. The screenwriters decision to incorporate a transgender Muppet on the
show mirrors the gradual changes that have progressively taken place within the framework of
feminism. Chip Day writes, Sesame Street for the 2017 season will include a transgender

The causes of court delays in Malta are attributable to...
Court delays had already existed during the British Colonial period and while some delays are
considered as necessary, many people consider these delays as totally unacceptable. Numerous
articles are found online or on newspapers with regard to this issue and some people argue that
the prolonging of court delays is in breach of the fundamental right to a fair hearing in a
reasonable time. These delays relate to a variety of factors which to a certain extent are
attributable to the procedure adopted in the court. However, other factors such as the legal
history, culture and social relations should also be taken into consideration. During the Colonial
period, the Maltese had resisted legal and judicial interventions by the British authorities and
this seems to affect the way we see the lawyer s professional role today. At this point in time
delays had already existed in civil litigation as the British Royal Commission (1911) investigated
these delays and it was in charge of reforms to the Maltese judicial procedure. It focused mostly
on the schedule followed by the courts for the hearing of cases. Through these investigations,
what emerged was that the system adopted for the hearing of civil cases seemed to be based on
the assumption that instead of a single session in which the case would be tried, there would be a
series of hearings, which could reach thirty or forty over a number of years and which were
usually separated from each other by periods of some three

Infertility And The Fertility Related Issues
For couples unable to conceive naturally who decide that adoption is not an option for them at this
time or alternatively for their particular situation, the first step in the process to treat infertility is
attempting to diagnosis the source of the infertility. In order to do this, both partners undergo a
series of preliminary diagnostic tests and procedures to determine if either the male or female have
any of the fertilityrelated issues. Infertility by definition is not being able to conceive after one
year of trying with unprotected sex. Trying to conceive not only affects the women but also the
man can have some type of issues that can affect the couple ability to become pregnant.
Infertility has become a growing issues for couples. According to CDC About 6% of married
women 15 44 years of age in the United States are unable to get pregnant after one year of
unprotected sex (infertility). Also, about 12% of women 15 44 years of age in the United States
have difficulty getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancyto term, regardless of marital status called
impaired fecundity. (http://www.cdc.gov/reproductivehealth/infertility)
In order for a couple to become pregnant she must release an egg from one of her ovaries and a
male sperm must join the egg. After the two meet the fertilized egg must travel through a fallopian
tube and attach itself to a women uterus. When this process does not happen the infertility doctor
will begin to proceed with a semen analysis on the male

How Justified Were President Lincoln s Wartime Decisions?
In a time of war, it is necessary for the President to enforce limits on the power of individuals.
President Lincoln was entirely justified in limiting rights during the wartime situation to protect the
nation. It was also necessary for him to increase the size of the federal army in order for the North
to have any possibility of winning the war. Lincoln had to do all that he could to keep the Border
States, each of which the Union could not afford to lose. Setting limits on the rights of individuals

C., would become enemy territory. If the line between the North and South shifted further north, the
Union would lose many people, jobs, and railroad lines. President Lincoln needed Kentucky
because it supplied much of the iron, gunpowder, and grain for the South. Slavery still existed in
the Border States, which could be used to lure the Confederate States back. Lincoln s priority was
to preserve the Union. Keeping Maryland, Missouri, Kentucky, Delaware, and West Virginia may
have made it possible.
It was entirely necessary for Lincoln to limit the rights of individuals. Northerners who
sympathized with the South, also called Copperheads , openly attacked President Lincoln and the
draft in newspapers, magazines, and their words. They often shipped goods to the South. Their
actions may have posed a threat to the Union and could have lead to the loss of Border States. To
prevent this, Lincoln arranged for supervised voting, and rightfully suspended Habeas Corpus and
free speech. Those who threatened the North by outwardly speaking against the Union could be

In order to protect the nation, President Lincoln was entirely justified in suspending rights during

The Role of Women in DoyleВґs A Scandal in Bohemia Essay
Doyle s A Scandal in Bohemia follows the story of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes on his
adventures to retrieve a disgraceful photograph of Irene Adler and the King of Bohemia. The king,
now engaged to a different woman, is fearful that Adler may use the photo as blackmail. In A
Scandal in Bohemia, the apparent role of women is minuscule. The only female emphasis is on one
woman, who is the object of Holmes detective inquiries. In A Scandal in Bohemia, society places
women at a subordinate level, pushing them to the background and therefore never allowing the

The King also fears the revelation of the scandalous photograph simply because it lies in the hands
of a woman. His interests to dominate this woman, Irene Adler, are evident in the callous actions
the King directs towards her. The King states, Five attempts have been made. Twice burglars in
my pay ransacked her house. Once we diverted her luggage when she traveled. Twice she has
been waylaid. There has been no result (218). This disdain and oblivion towards Adler s privacy
leads one to reassess the King s motives. Is he actually interested in the photograph or do his
actions focus solely on hurting Irene Adler? The King wants the upper hand on this beautiful, yet
extremely intelligent woman. The King s attitude towards his future wife and his former lover,
Irene Adler, fits into society s narrowly defined roles of women. In British Victorian society,
women were the nurtures and the protectors of the children, and what some deemed as only
monetarily valuable items. This female instinct to nurture is one stereotype that is greatly reflected
in the personality of Irene Adler. Adler s willingness to help is a quality that Watson, as well as
other men in society, felt all women should possess. Watson acknowledges this nurturing tendency
when he says, but I know that I never felt more heartily ashamed of myself when I saw the

The Olympic Olympics At The 1988 Seoul Olympics Essay
The 100m final during the 1988 Seoul Olympics, went from being called the greatest race in
history to the dirtiest race in history over a time period of 24 hours. Ben Johnson Bronze

The event everyone had been waiting for at the Seoul Olympics was that of the 100 meter final

The Factors Of Homicide Suicide
Factors of Homicide Suicide

Kean University Fall 2015
Research Methods
Prof. Fernando Linhares
Introduction This paper is being submitted for research methods at Kean University for the fall
2015 semester to discuss factors of homicide suicide. The variables I will be using in the discussion
will be, male perpetrators, male victims, female perpetrators, female victims, marriage victims and
marriage perpetrators. Murder suicide is defined as a homicide that is followed by the suicide of
the perpetrator within one week, sometimes a max of two weeks in some cases. The definitions
of the variables are as follow. A male perpetrator is a male that has committed the act of homicide
on another human being, than in return take his life within a week of the killing. A female
perpetrator is a female that has committed the acts of homicide on another human being, than in
return takes her life within one week of the killing. A male victims is a male who is the victims of
the homicide. A female victims is a female who is the victimof the crime. Marital status is the
status in which both the perpetrator and the victim are in which each other. It can be classified as
married, separate, divorced or single. Homicide Suicide rates are a growing number in the United
States and the countries around. They were once something that rarely occurred but then they
became the front news of every media and news outlet. Many different things can lead to the result

Sacrifice In Barbara Kingsolver s Poisonwood Bible
Orleanna Price s Sacrifice
Everyday we all make sacrifices for people we love and in rare cases those we do not. The book
Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver illuminates one family and the sacrifice they make to

influence in the Congo. One of the family members Orleanna Price the wife and mother of the
family sacrifices everything she has to make this journey that her husband so willfully accepted.
Through her sacrifice it shows us what she values. This is shown through the sacrifice of her

The Divine World And The Human World
Everywhere we look we see people searching for greater significance in this world and in
themselves. This quest sometimes leads to establishing or changing one s identity. Developing into
an individual is the process defined as personhood. Personhood is a straight forward concept
applicable to everyone except JesusChrist. Personhood becomes problematic with Jesus because of
His documented dual nature being fully divine and fully human. Jesus dual nature has generated a
significant amount of controversy throughout history. The intention of this essay is to explore the
personhood of Jesus which will confirm His dual nature was not only valid but also required for
humankind s salvation. An estimated 64% of all people today believe that they have a soul or
spirit. Based on this statistic people believe that there is a distinct difference between a divine
world and the human world. Division of worlds implies a crossroads making heaven divine and
earth human, The spirit of man is the meeting point of two worlds, the divine world and the human
world (Turincev, 2013, p.58). This degree of separation between the divine and human only
attributes to the complexity in understanding the personhood of Jesus. If we have distinctly
different vicinities for the divine and humans then the concept of one individual possessing both
attributes at the same time problematic at best. Personhood, by definition, is the condition of being
an individual person. This definition is singular

A Pro Versus Con Argumentative Article Essay
In America we currently have tax placed on our gas. However, with new changes in the
automotive industry, there have been ideas of changing the tax to a tax based on miles travelled
rather than gas. Mr. Earl Blumenauer and Mr. Phil Byrd both expressed their strong views on the
topic in a pro versus con argumentative article. Blumenauer and Byrd both built up their credibility
by using strong sources, including facts and statistics, and appealing to the readers emotions;
however towards the end of the article both sides had a slight flaw which weakened their credibility.
When analyzing both viewpoints of the topic, the credibility of the sources and appeals to ethos in
the article are very important. The pro side of the article was written by Earl Blumenauer, a

unanswered questions as to if he is knowledgeable enough on the subject of these types of taxes.

Norman Ferguson, reminds us how it is to be vulnerable, fragile, and human. Through the linear
progression of choice and opposition, Pinocchio s wooden heart has to learn the acrimonious trial of
human temptation and deviance in order to become a real boy. Thus creating the theme, you must
go through trial, turbulation and experiences in order to truly appreciate humanity and others.
In the beginning, just as many films begin, we open the story. This simple action helps the
audience literally envision the beginning, the opening, the first page of a story. This makes the
film more personable, as if we were reading the book with a family member before going to bed.
In the timeline, we would call this the exposition in which happiness and no opposing forces have
occurred yet. Pinocchio is still a wooden puppet and we are introduced to the characters of the film.
What I find is interesting is that Even from the beginning, Pinocchio was the closest to human out
of all the toys and wooden clocks in the

The 1874 case of Mary Ellen, was the first criminal case to be tried in the courts regarding abuse of
a child (Traux, 2013). The Child AbusePrevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) of 1974, was a
major turning point in the fight to help protect children. The enactment of CAPTA helped provide
federal funding to states in an effort to help with the identification, prevention and treatment of
child abuse and neglect (National Low Income Housing Coalition (2014). There have been several
amendments to CAPTA over the years to help with how the CPS organization operates.
The primary clients that the agency services are the children whom are considered the alleged
victims. The organization also works with the parents and any other adult that is considered an
alleged perpetrator. As stated on the DFPS website The mission of The Texas Department of
Family and Protective Services is to protect children, the elderly, and people with disabilities from
abuse, neglect, and exploitation by involving clients, families, and communities . Child Protective

Skateboarding Vs. Longboarding
Skateboarding vs. Longboarding Everyone knows what skateboarding is and has an opinion on
the sport. However, not very many people know or have even heard about longboarding.
Because of this, most people just assume that skateboarding and longboarding are similar in
sport and that the same stereotypes of skateboarders can be given to longboarders. That is not
the case at all. Even though they may seem similar longboarding has its own unique attributes
that set it apart from skateboarding. Skateboarding and longboarding were both invented in 1959
as a way to surf in the absence of rideable waves. They first called it, sidewalk surfing . These two
styles of riding grew, except skateboarding became a lot more popular. Skateboarders enjoy... Show

Longboards have bigger everything. The decks can be anywhere around thirty five to forty five
inches long. Skateboards are usually shorter, twenty eight to thirty two inches. Skateboards are
also not as wide as a longboard. Longboards tend to be around 10 inches wide while a skateboard is
mainly only eight inches wide. These differences in the deck give the unique uses for each. The
smaller build of a skateboard allows it to be maneuvered easily for tricks. On the other hand,
longboards are built for stability. Modern skateboards differ only in minor details like the brand
or materials. Wheel size, deck size, truck specifications, and deck shapes don t vary much.
Longboards, however, have several different styles of the decks, wheels, and trucks. Longboards
can be built in deck styles such as pintail, drop through, drop down, and speedboard. Along with
the general style of a deck there are also options for how the deck itself is shaped and built. Some
aspects of unique longboards are the build material, rocker vs. camber, concave, grip tape, and
flex. Longboard wheels are unique in the durometer and diameter of each wheel. Trucks can be
positioned at different angles as well as being outfitted with specific bushings to accommodate the
responsiveness the rider desires. Each style has its own perks and attributes which allows a rider to
build a personalized board specifically suited for the

The Civil War And The Emancipation Proclamation Essay
Life for was harsh and arduous following up towards gaining freedom and after becoming a
liberated for many African Americans during the 19th century. But soon after the
political, social, and economic effects of slaves getting their freedoms back many bills or
propositions were made to oppose the reform movement. The context of the time period was pre
civil war and during the early 19th century where many large movements in religion, economy
and social class were taking place and coming to fruition. It also took place afterwards of the
civil wars and the emancipation proclamation. This was also the time period where many people
in began to view slavery as an inhumane practice, a good chunk of the people who opposed
slavery were usually in the northern part of the united states and were civil rights activists. The
Fugitive Slave Acts were a pair of federal laws that allowed for the capture and return of runaway
slaves within the territory of the United States. Enacted by Congress in 1793, the first Fugitive
Slave Act authorized local governments to seize and return escaped slaves to their owners and
imposed penalties on anyone who aided in their flight. Widespread resistance to the 1793 law later
led to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which added further provisions regarding
runaways and levied even harsher punishments for interfering in their capture. The Fugitive Slave
Acts were among the most controversial laws of the early 19th century, and many Northern

Bringing Dog In The Workplace
Dogs are cute animals. Even though some people think bringing dogs to workplaces is not a
problem at all, I think it is. I think bringing dog to workplace could cause distraction for the
employees, and disrespectifull for others. First reason why Im against of bringing dogs to work
is because It may cause distraction for the employees. Dogs are always active, which is mean a lot
of energy. They want to play most of the time, and go everywhere. For example, walking between
leggs, jumbing infront of people and laying down on disks is unconfortable for some people. Not
only that, some dogs bark at the slightest noise, and other chew, whine, nip, and jump on people. Its
not good for the company to have situation like that. Another reason

  • 2. Shell Petroleum Discovery Of Nigeria Essay Introduction In 1956, Shell Petroleum discovered oil in commercial quantity in Nigeria. Within a decade, oil exploration speedily replaced agriculture as the mainstay of the country s economy. In 2006, roughly 97 percent of exchange revenue and about 80 percent of all government expenditures came from petroleum proceeds . The Niger Delta region is located at the southernmost part of Nigeria and comprises of nine states; Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers State, Abia, Imo and Ondo states. The region constitutes 7.5% of Nigeria s land mass, yet it is the nerve center of Nigeria s oil industry as it produces 100% of its oil and gas and generates more than 80% of all revenues . Aside the Niger Delta s huge fossil fuel reserves, its numerous rivers, streams and fertile lands make fishing, farming and hunting the major economic activities of the natives . While the region is the nerve center for the oil industry, approximately 69 percent of the residents lives in an abject poverty and squalor. How can logic explain a highly productive region becoming a theater to acute economic deprivation? To answer the question, there is a need to understand how oil corporations conduct business in the area. One must appreciate the intricate relationship among the federal government, the oil corporations and the Niger Deltans. The paper s intent is to demonstrate that oil producing communities in Nigeria are adversely affected by oil exploration. The first part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Role Of Monastic Issues In Preserving Roman... This historical study will examine the problems of monastic issues in preservation of roman civilization and the problem of Christian conversions for pagan societies in Europe during the early Medieval period of Europe. The purpose of European monasteries was to act in accordance with the Church of Rome s policy to preserve Roman traditions in government and Christian practices in primarily pagan tribal communities. During this time, the primary writings of St. Benedict define the purpose of the monasteryto spread Christianityas a source of religious power throughout Europe. More so, the role of monastic culture in Europe society defines the preservation of roman administration and culture throughout areas considered to be barbaric , such as the German tribal kingdom along the Rhine that St. Columban describes in the Boat Song. In addition to preserving Christian society in the Roman Catholic model, the writings of St. Columba define the monastic rules of the early medieval monastery as a vehicle to promote Roman Catholic cultural values as a replacement for the polder pagan tribal models found throughout Europe. In essence, the successful rise of Roman Catholic monasteries in the early medieval period define the problems of preserving Roman civilization and by converting pagans that monks had to endure within European pagan culture. Romanticism is an intellectual movement that where the artist s emotions toward his audience is the true. In addition, Gardener described how people showed the positive aspects of the world through creative ideas such as music, poetry, and images. On page 49, Gardener s use of romanticismis when Grendel noticed how the Shaper reshaped the world. In addition, He stared strange eyed at the mindless world and turns dry sticks to gold (Gardener). He knew the Shaper was tricking the people to believe in him. Another example of Gardner s use of romanticism is the Shaper told the story about the ancient feud between two brothers which split the entire world between darkness and light (Gardener, pg. 50). This quote exemplifies romanticism as the allegory of Cain and Abel. The Shaper represented Cain as darkness and Abel as the light. Grendel honestly admitted he was the dark side because he was a descendant of Cain. Because the Shaper s words were powerful, it made Grendel depressed. He knew that he was cursed by God, due to the curse he inherited from Cain. However, he looked at the corpse where the man was slaughtered by a group of men in order to conclude that both him and men were sinful and imperfect. As proof, Grendel had seen humans kill each other throughout chapter 1 4. As the darkness is increased through Grendel s heart, Grendel now feels the Shaper s foolishness towards tricking the humans, foreseeing a plan to destroy humanity. John Gardner implemented romanticism in order to show that romanticism can lead people to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Speech Is Power Of Speech Changed The Course Of History Essay Ralph Waldo Emerson expressed the importance of speech in one short sentence: Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. In 2008, the power of speech changed the course of history; the first African American president was elected, transcending years of racial inequality. For many blacks in the U.S., and many around the world, Barack Obamas presidency was a step closer to righting America s 400 year old wrong: slavery and subsequent discrimination toward the black race. Obama s victory was traced back to his powerful speech and his natural ability to charismatically orate. In the end, however, it was Obama s political philosophy that persuaded individuals to support him. Following his victory in 2008, President Barack Obama used rhetoric to advocate for change, hope, and a united America where the window of opportunity could remain open for all. The son of a white American mother and a black Kenyan father, Barack Hussein Obama II spent most of his life feeling excluded in the racially homogenous state of Hawaii. Despite his childhood hardships, Obama graduated from Columbia University with a political science major in 1983. Later, he entered Harvard Law School where he became the first black president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review in 1990 (Nelson). Although a great majority of the journal s staff was conservative, Obama won as a liberal by promising that he would treat all political beliefs equally and fairly a promise he was famously known ... It is a negative affect so closely related to fear that in many circumstances the two terms are used interchangeably. Fear and Anxiety are similar: both of them are elicited by the same processes. But they have many differences. While the physiological activation generated by Fear might be strongly intense and happen suddenly, the state on discomfort linked with anxiety is protracted and the sensation of being tense is less intense but pervasive. • 11. Rousseau And Wollstonecraft On The Lack Of Equality Rousseau and Wollstonecraft on the Lack of Equality We are not supposed to be all equal. Let s just forget that. We are supposed to have equal rights under law. If we do that, we have done enough. said Ben Stein, an iconic commentator on political and economic issues. But is it enough? Of course everyone is not born equal but if we were to be alike under the law, does that mean inequalities are to disappear in households and in governments? If we re not supposed to be equal according to Ben, then where does inequality come from and what are the consequences of it? Jean Jacques Rousseau in The Basic Political Writings and Mary Wollstonecraft in A Vindication of the Rights of Woman serves to answers those questions. The two authors offer a very different assessment from each other on the matter but for me personally, I can relate to both sides of the argument. Rousseau s claim that nearly all inequalities result from social institutions is very appealing because it s essentially claiming to be the origin of inequality and Wollstonecraft on the other hand dives deeper into the subject matter to discuss a very specific inequality, the lack of gender equalityand the consequences of it.... • 12. Dharma in the Mahabharta Essays Dharma in the Mahabharta The concept of dharma is the most central and core concept of Hindu philosophy, all the other principles and values flow from the beautiful fountain of Dharma (Srinivasan n.d., 1). Consequently, the Hindu scriptures present many examples of its importance in a variety of ways. The two epics Mahabharata and Ramayana are particularly interesting in their presentation of dharma. Dharma is Sanskrit word with many different connotations that are mostly of ethical nature. Thus far, there has not been a parallel word found for it in English or any language that truly signifies the essence of it. It comes from the root word, dhr, which literally means to uphold, sustain, and maintain a thing in its being. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The concept of dharma is very broad and is very difficult to grasp because there is no clear cut definition of dharma that captures the essence of it. However, one can try to see how the works like the Mahabharata approach the concept. The epic mainly deals with the loss and reestablishment of dharma on Earth. For whensoever Dharma declines and Adharma uprises, the Bhagavan (god) creates himself to guard the good and to destroy the wicked; to establish the Dharma firmly, he comes into being again and again (Sukthankar 1998, 79). In the Mahabharata, the story goes that Earth burdened by the tyranny of demonic kings then ruling requests Visnu to relieve her burden; and Visnu decides to do so by, along with other heavenly beings: gods, rsis, gandharvas, kinnaras and so on, taking birth among the Yadavas. A war is fought with purpose of ending the tyranny of the demonic kings and restoring dharma on decline due to the tyranny, also, in turn relieving Earth s burden. However, all this does not take place with such simplicity. The Mahabharata War, as one remembers, was fought between cousins, the Kauravas and the Pandavas. Throughout history many wars between cousins have taken place, then what makes the Mahabharata War so special to gain such recognition. As it turns out, what gives this trivial tale of petty ... The Transition From Art Nouveau To Art Deco English Decorative Arts: The Transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco Parallels can be seen running throughout the two movements and the following essay highlights the similarities and differences within the two styles and the causes of the fall from one and the rise of the other. Art Nouveau was likewise strongly influenced by the Pre Raphaelite movement which contained prominent artists such as Edward Burne Jones and John William Waterhouse (Meagher, 2017). This romantic style exhibited a return to nature; common themes were leaves, flowers, tendrils, and insects. Whiplash curves and flowing lines were prominently featured. Art Nouveau portrayals of women were erotic and sensual and many images depicted nudes and these images were originally shocking to the public (Hoffman, 2017) . Artists preferred a pallet of natural colours with soft muted tones of browns, olive greens, blues, and mustard yellow (Marinica, 2017). Advertisers procured these images and adopted the style to produce posters and newspaper advertisements promoting a variety of goods. The Czech artist Alphonse Mucha produced works of this type ( Alphonse Maria Mucha Complete Works 2017 , 2017). Artisans of the Aesthetic movement advocated art for art s sake and created works purely for beauty and never for function (Easby, 2017). The process starts first with the cabling and physical installation of the disk. Next it is key to ensure the computer s BIOS is properly configured to allow access to the drive. Once the machine can see the physical drive the next step is to prepare the drive to accept data by partitioning the drive for the desired disk layout. Finally, the drive is mounted within the filesystem hierarchy so it may be accessed by the end user. Installing the Drive The first step in this process is the physical installation of the drive. While the process of installing an IDE drive is more involved than a SATA drive it is still easily accomplished if a few precautious are followed. • 30. The causes of court delays in Malta are attributable to... Court delays had already existed during the British Colonial period and while some delays are considered as necessary, many people consider these delays as totally unacceptable. Numerous articles are found online or on newspapers with regard to this issue and some people argue that the prolonging of court delays is in breach of the fundamental right to a fair hearing in a reasonable time. These delays relate to a variety of factors which to a certain extent are attributable to the procedure adopted in the court. However, other factors such as the legal history, culture and social relations should also be taken into consideration. During the Colonial period, the Maltese had resisted legal and judicial interventions by the British authorities and this seems to affect the way we see the lawyer s professional role today. At this point in time delays had already existed in civil litigation as the British Royal Commission (1911) investigated these delays and it was in charge of reforms to the Maltese judicial procedure. It focused mostly on the schedule followed by the courts for the hearing of cases. Through these investigations, what emerged was that the system adopted for the hearing of civil cases seemed to be based on the assumption that instead of a single session in which the case would be tried, there would be a series of hearings, which could reach thirty or forty over a number of years and which were usually separated from each other by periods of some three ... The Role of Women in DoyleВґs A Scandal in Bohemia Essay Doyle s A Scandal in Bohemia follows the story of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes on his adventures to retrieve a disgraceful photograph of Irene Adler and the King of Bohemia. The king, now engaged to a different woman, is fearful that Adler may use the photo as blackmail. In A Scandal in Bohemia, the apparent role of women is minuscule. The only female emphasis is on one woman, who is the object of Holmes detective inquiries. This disdain and oblivion towards Adler s privacy leads one to reassess the King s motives. Is he actually interested in the photograph or do his actions focus solely on hurting Irene Adler? The King wants the upper hand on this beautiful, yet extremely intelligent woman. The King s attitude towards his future wife and his former lover, Irene Adler, fits into society s narrowly defined roles of women. In British Victorian society, women were the nurtures and the protectors of the children, and what some deemed as only monetarily valuable items. This female instinct to nurture is one stereotype that is greatly reflected in the personality of Irene Adler. Adler s willingness to help is a quality that Watson, as well as other men in society, felt all women should possess. • 39. The Divine World And The Human World Everywhere we look we see people searching for greater significance in this world and in themselves. This quest sometimes leads to establishing or changing one s identity. Developing into an individual is the process defined as personhood. Personhood is a straight forward concept applicable to everyone except JesusChrist. Personhood becomes problematic with Jesus because of His documented dual nature being fully divine and fully human. Jesus dual nature has generated a significant amount of controversy throughout history. The intention of this essay is to explore the personhood of Jesus which will confirm His dual nature was not only valid but also required for humankind s salvation. An estimated 64% of all people today believe that they have a soul or spirit. Based on this statistic people believe that there is a distinct difference between a divine world and the human world. Division of worlds implies a crossroads making heaven divine and earth human, The spirit of man is the meeting point of two worlds, the divine world and the human world (Turincev, 2013, p.58). This degree of separation between the divine and human only attributes to the complexity in understanding the personhood of Jesus. If we have distinctly different vicinities for the divine and humans then the concept of one individual possessing both attributes at the same time problematic at best. If you would ask me, Human nature is probably one of the most terrifying things of this Earth. Nevertheless, you can t stand but to love humanism and the persona of one s being. Pinocchio, a classic film directed by Norman Ferguson, reminds us how it is to be vulnerable, fragile, and human. Through the linear progression of choice and opposition, Pinocchio s wooden heart has to learn the acrimonious trial of human temptation and deviance in order to become a real boy. Thus creating the theme, you must go through trial, turbulation and experiences in order to truly appreciate humanity and others. In the beginning, just as many films begin, we open the story. This simple action helps the audience literally envision the beginning, the opening, the first page of a story. This makes the film more personable, as if we were reading the book with a family member before going to bed. In the timeline, we would call this the exposition in which happiness and no opposing forces have occurred yet. Pinocchio is still a wooden puppet and we are introduced to the characters of the film.
