Introduction:
Mountain Dew last year had released a series of online advertisements developed by African–
American rapper Tyler, The Creator, which featured an angry Mountain Dew–drinking goat named
Felicia. Controversy had surrounded the third advertisement of the series, which portrayed a
battered white woman on crutches being urged by an officer to identify the goat out of a lineup of all
black men. Critics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Influence consumer purchase: Association with a celebrity is a matter of prestige, his/her
involvement in an advertisement would influence his/her fans to adopt the same brand. Example an
advertisement featured by any of Real Madrid or Barcelona stars would generate new accounts for
the Organisation because it has been testimony by their favorite celebrity.
Building awareness: Partnership with celebrity creates awareness of the products and a real
understanding of what the Organization offers. Audience tend to talk about the brand and the
products as their favorite celebrity is featured in it.
Attract new users: Favorite celebrity would entice new users; their fans would love products they
advertise. Example Toyota brand on any of football team would attract their fans.
Position a brand: Nowadays, there are so many products on the shelves and lots of advertisements
on air; hence the consumers would be confused. Whereby everyone is striving to prove superiority
of its products. Products promoted by David Beckam would generate more sales and the brand
would gain a strong stand with the ongoing competitions. Ref. Celebrity image has important on

Media Marketing For Mountain Dew From The 1960's
Mountain Dew, a company who has a special mission to provide consumers around the world with
delicious, affordable, convenient and complimentary beverages. Due to this mission, the company
has made numerous commercials since the beginning of time. In this essay, I will show the
differences between media marketing for Mountain Dew from the 1960's until today. The
commercials I have chosen have the same type of story style, and really look similar when
compared side by side.
The first commercial I will analyze is the earlier mountain dew commercial from the 1960's.
Automatically when watching this commercial, color pops right in the viewer's eyes. This was one
of the first commercials in color so it does not have any bright colors ,but the scheme includes light
blues, greens, browns, and yellow. The characters also have very nice and porcelain skin with an
almost ivory undertone which makes them really pop out against the mountain ... Show more

The commercial is very light when the animals are dancing, and dark at the end an emphasis on the
cat. The commercial really made it dark when the weirdest parts happened to really put emphasis on
the reaction on the dancing animals which are the main object of the commercial. The commercial
really enforces the idea that the energy given by this drink is so great, that it is passed from each
animal which would be the main characters. Since the main characters are animals, there is no real
talking in the commercial, instead there is just a bold statement at the end, and enticing dance music.
Due to the music, the commercial is very happy, and is very upbeat like the earlier commercial
mentioned. In conclusion of this ad, the target audience would be everyone because it is not really
for kids but would appeal because of the dancing, but with today's society dancing cats appeal to
everyone and

Assignment 2 Met Essay
1. Is a temperature inversion more likely to form on a calm or a windy night? Why?
A temperature inversion is most likely to form on a calm night. Windy nights are not ideal for an
inversion to occur since an inversion is considered a stable layer of atmosphere as well as due to the
wind mixing the air to even out the density, remembering cold air is denser than warm air so it will
flow downhill and pool in a valley.
2. What are the various methods used to protect sensitive crops from damaging low temperatures?
Explain why each method works.
Various methods to help protect sensitive crops include:
a. Orchard heaters – "smudge pots" help warm air around the trees by setting up convection currents
close to the ground.
b. Wind machines – ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Relative humidity requires the air's temperature to give the water vapor reading.
5. List one or more key identifying features for each of the ten basic cloud types. Which cloud types
might have fairly similar appearances and thus be difficult to identify?
The ten basic cloud types include:
A. Cirrus – Mostly white delicate filaments and possibly have a hair–like appearance.
B. Cirrostratus – Transparent veil clouds covering the whole sky.
C. Cirrocumulus – Thin and patchy of white clouds composed of small elements forming ripples.
D. Altostratus – Gray or bluish in colour and thin enough to reveal the sun without the halo effect.
E. Altocumulus – White or gray patch appear as a sheet or layer of clouds appearing like rolls. When
altocumulus appear in front of the sun a corona is visible, with red and blue rings respectively.
F. Nimbotratus – A dark gray continuous rain cloud resulting from a thickening altostratus. Thick
enough to blot out the sun.
G. Cumulus – The base of these clouds are typically dark and horizontal with the tops being sunlit
and brilliant white. Clouds are dense with sharp outlines developing vertically in the form of rising

Mountain Dew: Selecting New Creative
Introduction
"Do the Dew!" This was a long time tag line for the Mountain Dew brand. In 1995 marketing
managers for Mountain Dew realized the tag line had lost consumer interests, understanding this
they changed the direction of the creative. Though the creative changed, the target market for
Mountain Dew remained in line. Mountain Dew's ad campaign between 1995 and 1999 did not fare
extremely well. PepsiCo decided that in 2000 Mountain Dew would be featured during the Super
Bowl rather than Pepsi. This was an enormous feat, as the Super Bowl had been an influential event
for advertisers for decades. It was already October 1999 for the marketing executives and decisions
had to be made to get the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Selecting an advertisement that is closely related would be the most attractive strategy. "It is
important for marketers to devise communications that (1) offer consistent messages about their
products and (2) are placed in media that consumers in the target market are likely to use."
(Donnelly, Peter, 2007) Understanding this, the marketing executives would need to choose
advertisements that are related; therefore, Mock Opera, Dew or Die, and Showstopper would be the
most appealing to consumers. For the Super Bowl feature Mock Opera and Dew or Die would be the
least complicated to produce. Showstopper would involve many choreographed moves that would
take longer to produce. The benefits of selecting this alternative would be that Mountain Dew would
receive two features during the Super Bowl and that they would be able to reach their objective as
well. They would also meet their market positioning objective as well, reaching 18 year old males
that embrace excitement, adventure, and fun. The down fall of utilizing this alternative would be
that they will be pressured to produce both advertisements with "Super Bowl quality." This could be
as much of a bad marketing strategy as it is beneficial.
Recommendations
Alternative two would be the best choice for Mountain Dew. It will meet the objective they have set
for their brand communication strategy, lessen time constraints, increase

Descriptive Essay About Fear
The wind howled as we drove vigilantly through the mountains. The winding, treacherous roads
rattled our van with every turn. The sun vanished behind the arms of the trees as we ventured deeper
into the mountains. Miles of vegetation swarmed on the like we were entering a jungle. The
mountain peaks impaled the sky like a sword. Darkness crept and latched on to our van with every
twist and turn. Fog whisked it's way like a tidal wave through the trees. As we approached our
destination, the twists and turns only become more abundant. After each turn anxiety grips us with
anguish because one incorrect turn would either throw you into the side of a mountain, or hurdle you
into an infinite abyss below. Poverty spread like a disease as we passed houses, each one worse than
the previous. Boarded up homes appeared every half mile. People stared as we drove by, as if they
were giving us a warning: leave. A stream to the side of the road seemed to be our companion as it
followed us every step of the way. The temperature dropped the farther we descended into the
mountain. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we finally reached our destination in the middle of
nowhere: the mission.
As my youth group and I unpacked our bags from the truck, we all gawked at the scenery of the
environment. Trees surround you and would not let you go, secluding us from civilization. Rocks
huddled together on the banks of the creek. The mission and the dorms sat atop rolling hills and one
misstep could send you tumbling into the creek. The creek itself appeared like gravy with a thick
consistency. Legend had it, Danial Boone skinned a bear in the creek, and the intestines tormented
the water, turning it to a murky brown (people didn't want to admit it, but because of the trash they
had heaved in the creek is what altered it's consistency). The leader of the mission introduced
himself to the youth group and I and invited us all inside the mission to have a meeting. He
discussed the projects we would be tending to while in Big Laurel, Kentucky and what groups we
would be in. He gave us a tour of the dorms as well as other features of the mission, and also
included a few rules. Rule #1: never leave the dorm

Both companies are ultimately competing for the same consumer dollar in the food and beverage
market, and it is thusly important for the companies to be able to distinguish themselves from the

Snowmobiling on Priest Mountain Essay
Snowmobiling on Priest Mountain
In late May I never pictured myself carving a highmark on Priest Mountain. Priest Mountain is
nestled on the east edge of the Grand Mesa National Forest. Deep sugary snow and feathery blue
spruce trees cover the mountain and the area around. One fine day it occurred that I had the
opportunity to carve my highmark and I still I have the mental image of my territory after that day.
Even before that day, Priest has left a impression on me. Priest Mountain, for me, has been such a
majestic riding area; Iíve been riding in this area for more than 10 years, and it is such a magical
place to ride.
On this one fine day, we had a typical Colorado snow storm.. I can recall this very trip to the

The large lot was completely full; the trucks and trailers were packed into the lot like a can of
sardines. I finally found a place to park and we unloaded the machines. There was slight breeze and
a whisper in the air; Priest Mountain was calling my name!
Once my dad arrived, we were on our way. I jumped out into the first park that we came to and the
fresh new powder exalted me. We then rode over to our friend's cabin to say hello and have a Pepsi.
We asked our friend, Bob to come along for the ride and he was delighted to join us. From there we
cut across flat lined Twin Lake and then across the untracked Eggleston Lake. To my unpleasant
surprise, we approached the lodge, and sleds were buzzing around like crows on road kill. Ten miles
down the road I expected to, at least, see some other people riding, but we had the whole mountain
to ourselves. We rode from mountain to mountain, crossing open drainages and gigantic
playgrounds of snow one after another.
After an hour of hard riding we came to our first rest stop and decided to ride over towards Priest.
Of course, we played and got stuck along the way. We hung a right at the Weir and Johnson turnoff,
and blazed up the trail. I had the privilege of breaking trail through the pristine powder. My Yamaha
Viper purred into the brisk cold air, tasting like a fresh water ice cube.
At one point, we jumped over to the south, rode through a park blanketed with powder until we
reached a cliff over looking Delta

Purpose
The purpose of the experiment was to see if soda, either Coke, Sprite, or Mountain Dew had an
effect on a morning glory seed's germination rate, and to see if the effect of Coke, Sprite, and
Mountain Dew soda on seed germination is the same as the effect of the Coke, Sprite, and Mountain

Background Research: Seed germination is a process that is defined as a seed developing into a new
plant. Germination is measured by the number of days it takes for the seed to break the shell and

Chem B Experiment Lab Report
The purpose of this lab was to experimentally and scientifically ascertain the percentage of oxygen
in Chem B at Woonsocket High School. It was hypothesized that if the percentage of oxygen is
measured experimentally in Chem B at Woonsocket High School, then it would be higher than the
percentage of oxygen in dry air, which is 20.95%, because the air is not dry due to moisture in the
air from people breathing and the altitude of where the experiment takes place may affect it as well.
To conduct this experiment, a candle was placed upright in a pan of water, was lit, and the flame was
allowed to fully develop. Then a graduated cylinder was placed upside down to represent an airtight
chamber, and the water rose. The point where it rose to was ... Show more content on

The number of people in the room, contributing to the humidity, is one of the contributing factors to
the change in percentages of oxygen. The condensation of a person's exhaled breath is a factor that
also minimally contributes to the humidity in the atmosphere. Humidity is the amount of water
vapor in the air at any given moment. When a person exhales, it marginally impacts the relative
humidity, and, due to common sense, if there is more people in the room, there is a greater level of
humidity. The percentage of oxygen in dry air is 20.95%. However, the air is not always dry. Thus,
the percentage of oxygen cannot always be the same if humidity is always changing. Furthermore,
dew point temperature is the absolute measure of the amount of water vapor present in the air. So, if
the temperature is higher, it can hold more water vapor, making warmer climates much more humid
than cooler climates. So, the temperature in the room is also an indirect contributing factor to the
percentage of oxygen in the air. The distance above sea level is thought to potentially affect the
percentages of oxygen. Nonetheless, it has been established that the percentage of oxygen molecules
is always the same when considering altitude. This is because air is compressible, so the weight of
all the air above applies pressure to the air at that particular altitude, making that air at

How To Drink A Mountain Dew Kicktart?
Have you ever been sitting in your door room bored when all of a sudden your alcoholic friend texts
you and asks if you want to drink? Since you're bored you tell him sure come on over. You invite a

your doctor recommends. You wake up exhausted to the ringing of an alarm. You to shut it off only
to realize that it's your roommates 7:45 alarm instead of your 7 o'clock alarm, and now you need to

Mountain Dew
Corporate background Mountain Dew has been through many changes since it was introduced in
1942. It started out as a yellow–green drink in a green bottle that had a rush of citrus flavor and
more sugar and caffeine than any other soft drink. During the introduction of Mountain Dew it was
well known throughout the Eastern seaboard. At this time the objectives was to gain market share.
Mountain Dew became popular because of the stock car racing circuit known as NASCAR. During
the 1960s Mountain Dew's objective was too continued with its heritage from where it originated
and began having characters such as Willie to promote the brand. By the 1970s the Mountain Dew

Also another opportunity is to come up with a new target market to reach new consumers. The
number one threat is the innovation of new drink categories that is stealing away market share from
Mountain Dew. Not being able tot stay competitive in this category can make or break a company. I
think that the major competitors of Mountain Dew are faced with this same issue. I'm sure they are
coming up with new ideas to compete with the new products and drink categories.
Target Market Coming up with a target market that is consistent with Mountain Dew varies from
decade to decade. Each Decade brings new cultural trend. Mountain Dew has done an excellent job
at keeping up with these trends and targeting consumers that make their product something they can
relate too. Right now Mountain Dew's target market is male teens 18 years of age. Also trying to
keep the brand appealing and create a cross–over appeal among the 20–39 year old males. The type
of buyer that Mountain Dew is targeting is one who has an exhilarating lifestyle and associated with
extreme sports. The characteristics of this buyer would be a male in his teens that wants to fit in and
be associated with sports. Also this buyer wants to make you think he lives life on the edge and
drinks carbonated soft drinks for energy. Mountain Dew's marketing mix is strong due to the

A Brief Note On The Air Temperature Inversion
1. Is a temperature inversion more likely to form on a calm or a windy night? Why? The air
temperature inversion is more likely to occur on a calm night versus a windy night. The inversion
will happen when the air, closest to the earth is a lot colder than the air higher in the atmosphere.
Wind will naturally mix and causing the temperature preventing an inversion. Temperature inversion
may happen during a cold front moving through. 2. What are the various methods used to protect
sensitive crops from damaging low temperatures? Explain why each method works. Fruit trees can
be very vulnerable for farmers (Ahrens 65). Many ways a farmer can protect their crops as they are
blossoming during low temperatures is by using orchard heaters or Smudge pots. Smudge pot warm
the air around the trees close to the ground producing heat to raise the temperatures. Another way
that farmer protects their crops to warm the ground. They way the ground is warmed is through a
devices such as a wind machine (Ahrens 65). A wind machine is a fan, which emulates propellers.
One of the advantages that the wind machines provide is that they turn on and off as they reach
certain temperatures. The basic way to protect crops is by covering them. On a cold night to protect
small plants of shrubs covering them with straw, cloth, or plastic sheeting will prevent ground heat
from being radiated away (Ahrens 65). 3. Would a strong radiation inversion be more likely to form
on a winter night or a

sea–surface temperatures, heat low, cold ocean currents, upwelling, temperature inversion and
hygroscopic nuclei play a role in creating radiation and advection fogs in California. State facts and
give information about accidents that have emerged due to fog and the strategies that the
Department of Transportation in the Unites States of America take in order to prevent accidents
from occurring. as well as their effectiveness will be discussed and evaluated.
Types of Fogs and the Foggiest places in U.S. Fog, "like any cloud, usually forms in one of two
ways: (1) by cooling–air is cooled below its saturation point (dew point); and (2) by evaporation and
mixing–water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and mixing–water vapor is added to the air
by evaporation, and the moist air mixes with relatively dry air." (Ahrens & Samson, 2011, p. 97)

Childhood Memories Essay
When I was a young child I would love to hear my parents tell me that we were going on a trip. I
would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen

minivan. Three of my most cherished memories in our minivan are when we went to Disney World,
the beach, and the mountains.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip

Going to the beach was nothing like going to the lake or swimming pool. The ocean had large waves

I also got to walk down the beach and find different objects that the waves had washed up on shore.
I found seashells that had brilliant colors like the rainbow. I even found a creature that looked like
pink jelly. I picked the creature up with a stick and took it to show my dad. My dad told me that it
was a jellyfish that could sting me, so he made me bury it in the sand. I saw another creature that
was gliding in shallow water. It was dark brown with a long tail and looked like it had wings. It was
a horrible looking creature that I had never seen before. My dad came down to the water to see what
I was looking at. He told me that they were called skates, and they would not hurt me. That was the
first time I saw something living in the ocean besides a fish. My dad then showed me that there were
little creatures called, sand fiddlers, which would wash up when the waves crashed into the shore.
We sat down on the sand so he could show me how to catch them. The sand fiddlers would dig
down in the sand fast as lightning, so we had to dig for them fast as we could. When I caught one it
felt like it was trying to dig into your hand with what seemed like a million legs. After about four

Mountain Dew Chemistry Lab
The density of an object relative to the density of a liquid will determine whether the object floats or
sinks in the liquid. The "Bozeman Video" says that when atoms are more compact in an object, the
object is more dense. When an object is more dense than the liquid it's being put in, it sinks. If the
object is less dense than the liquid it's being put in, it floats. In a lab we did, we put a regular
Mountain Dew can that was full into a bucket of tap water and salt water. We also put a can of diet
Mountain Dew into both buckets. We observed whether they would float or sink. When we put a can
of normal Mountain Dew into a bucket of tap water, the Mountain Dew sank. Why? This was
because the density of the tap water in our class averaged 0.98 g/mL. Our class average data said

The Mountain Dew was more dense than the tap water, so it sank. The atoms were more compact in

came to the conclusion that the Mountain Dew floated on top of the water because it was less dense
than the water we put it in. "A Fish Full of Folly" video says that when you compare two objects
that have either different masses or different volumes, they will have different densities. This density
is what will tell you whether an object will sink or float in the liquid you put it in. If an object has a

"Don't do they, do you" These are the words of NBA MVP, Russell Westbrook during his Mountain
Dew commercial last year. He did this commercial in a way to show what different people would
tell you not to do, especially in the basketball world. It was a way in proving that you can do
whatever you feel is right to do. The commercial starts off with Russell Westbrook dribbling a ball.
From the angles shown, it could be seen to the viewer that he is playing in a game. He dribbles than
takes a deep three, and makes it. In the background you hear him say," they say don't practice a shot
you wouldn't take in a game." The light dimmers slightly so you can focus on how even though

The Mountain Dew represented how NBA drink Mountain Dew. Throughout the video, especially
during the press conference, it showed a Mountain Dew sponsorship. I think the whole point of
Mountain Dew was to show how much it supports the NBA. If you like the NBA than you should
like Mountain Dew cause clearly NBA players like it too. Also it shows how Mountain Dew is a
huge supporter of the NBA. The main idea of this message was to tell you to be yourself. It is saying
how Russell Westbrook has heard all these things that he should not do. He ignored it and did what
he felt what was true to him. He knew he did not have to listen to everything other people said, so he
did not. Instead he did his thing which turned him into the great player, person, and father that he is

Redemption In The Dew Breaker
Redemption of Evil Acts In "The Dew Breaker," a reoccurring tone of redemption of evil acts is
something that Danticat comes back to time and time again. Throughout the novel, redemption
comes in different forms, especially for the two strongest representations of violence, with that
being Claude and the "dew breaker." Through Claude, the reader can argue that his character helps
give insight to the "dew breaker." A question can be asked, is redemption possible when someone
has committed evil acts of crime and violence? In her novel, Danticat does not come out to give the
reader that answer; however, the reader observes through the text that redemption is possible. The
text shows this through the conversation between Dany and Claude, through what is exposed about
the "dew breaker," and how Dany's feelings might have changed after meeting Claude. In the novel,
the character Claude killed his father because his father confiscated his drugs and refused to give
them back. Claude traveled to New York City after his father's death, where he ... Show more

However, one must keep redemption and the act of justification in two separate categories.
Redemption is not a means of justifying what that person has done. In the case of the " dew
breaker," his redemption comes not only from his wife, but also mostly from his daughter, Ka. After
the "dew breaker" told his wife of the truth of his actions, the reader sees Anne, his wife, looking for
religious redemption for her husband. In the text, Danticat explains through Ka that Anne goes to
mass every day. What makes this a significant detail in the novel is that she not only goes to mass
every day, but that "she'll walk the twenty blocks from the church to the salon" (Danticat 9). This is
significant because every day of Anne's goes to a great length every day to integrate church into her

Others like Eddy Kawira, a frosh, find Mountain Dew to be a good alternative to hot caffeinated
beverages like coffee. They like a variation in the taste of their caffeinated drinks.
Bougner preferred Mountain Dew for another reason. He felt it is a lighter drink, unlike Coke and
other pops that are more concentrated. "It's like comparing dark beer to light beer," he said.
"Mountain Dew is the light beer."
Some debate how effective this drink really is. While some students depend on it to keep them
awake, others find it ineffective. Junior John Kaitei said he has experienced moments when the
power drink did not perform its task. He would drink several bottles, yet still be overcome by
drowsiness. "Sometimes you just have to take a nap," he said.
Students have discovered that Mountain Dew eventually loses its effect. Kawira feels this beverage
cannot always be dependable. "If you're drinking it a lot, then it's less effective because you build up
a tolerance," he said.
Noah Foster, a senior who once was addicted to Mountain Dew, said he is no longer affected by the
drink because he has become immune to it. When he first started drinking Dew, it only took one 20–

Hydrocarbon Dew Point Of The Natural Gas Industry Essay
Abstract:–
Hydrocarbon Dew Point has always been a vital operational parameter and but it is becoming a
critical tariff parameter for the natural gas industry.
Hydrocarbon Dew Point considered as quality parameter for natural gas.
Dew point control is one of the most important operations at the beginning of the gas processing
chain.
Its main purpose is to ensure that liquids (either hydrocarbons or water) are not formed in the
pipelines to allow a safe and reliable transportation of the gas to markets.
The by–product liquids recovered could be used as fuel, or alternatively stabilized and Marketed as
condensate.
The knowledge of the hydrocarbon dew point (HCDP) is of great importance for the oil and gas
industry as it is one of the gas quality specifications used for ensuring safe transport of natural gas.
Avoiding hydrocarbon condensation is crucial as the presence of liquids in the pipelines increases
the pressure drop and introduces operational problems in pipelines designed for single phase
transportation. Thus, accurate measurement and prediction of hydrocarbon dew points are of great
importance to obtain a safe and effective utilization of the natural gas pipelines.
Introduction:–
Hydrocarbon dew point is defined in the International Standard Organization (ISO) 11150: 2007 and
ISO 14532: 2005 as the:
Temperature above which no condensation of hydrocarbons occurs at a specified pressure.

Mountain Dew Case Analysis
Introduction
Mountain Dew enjoyed its great success over the decades since it first invented in the late 1940s.
The creative advertising strategy had been proofed effective by the outstanding market success in
1990s. However, the top marketing executives soon realized that they were loosing customers'
interests unless to make some strategic changes, because the industry grew so fast with multiple
strong competitors. PepsiCo decided in 2000 to join the Super Bowl advertising. Executive Creative
Director provided 5 ads, and waited the PepsiCo executives to choose three out of the five ads,
which two of them would be broadcasted during Super Bowl, and the all three would be shown on
TV through the year of 2000.
This case analysis will introduce a brief background of CSD industry and the history of Mountain
Dew, give creative advertising strategies, alternatives, and lastly the recommendations and the
implementation guidelines.
Dew History
Brothers Barney and Ally Hartman invented the original formula of Mountain Dew in the late 1940s
in Knoxville, Tennessee. "Mountain Dew" was originally a Southern or Irish slang for "Moonshine"
that referred to any kind of homemade alcohol (usually whisky or rum) that was created in the
mountains of Tennessee without government authorization (Grabianowski, n.d.). Hartman brothers
were the barkeepers in Knoxville, and own the Hartman Beverage Company. They found hard to
find a preferred mix with the liquor, so they created their own. That

Racism And Sexism : The Mountain Dew
Racism and sexism are overwhelmingly prevalent in media, but somehow the underlying depth of
the theses issues remains under addressed. It is important to become educated on these issues of
racism and sexism especially violence against women, and how they systematically affect specific
subsets of people. The Mountain Dew commercial is one of three, the very last commercial. It opens
with a line–up of men and a goat. The woman is asked by the police officer to point to the assailant.
The purpose of the paper is to analyze the Mountain Dew ad "Nasty Goat" from a cultural studies
perspective by critiquing the criminalization of African American men as well as violence against
women are portrayed as humorous.
Douglas Kellner separated his cultural studies perspective into three parts: political economy of
culture, textual analysis and audience analysis. Mountain Dew uses a cheap joke to convey humor
and also pay for a popular entertainer. Domination over subordination is conveyed in this ad through
gender and race. Audiences didn't relate enough and affected people in a negative way since the
television ad got banned, but didn't harm the company itself. Cultural studies perspective articulates
how the commercial touched on stereotypes of marginalized groups and how self–aware society is
on them due to the outrage.
Pepsi's Mountain Dew uses conventions that are overused and negatively reflect on people of color
and women. They used a well–known artist, Tyler the Creator. He

Dry Ice And Water Fog
This article explains how fog is produced when dry ice and water react. One might think that the fog
is made by water in the atmosphere but Kuntzleman questioned this common thought's validity and
explored dry–ice + water=fog at the molecular level. His first step was to accurately measure fog
density by using the following equation: fog density= –log (I/I_0 ) with "I_0 being the intensity of
incident light and I being the intensity of light that travels through the fog" (Kuntzleman, 644). This
allowed Kuntzleman to determine at what point fog had been made.
After taking the mass of water and combining a "dry ice pellet ... the mass of the water in the
cylinder is less than... at the beginning" (644). More experiments were completed with various

Types Of Fogs And The Foggiest Places
Types of Fogs and the Foggiest places in U.S. Fog, "like any cloud, usually forms in one of two
ways: (1) by cooling–air is cooled below its saturation point (dew point); and (2) by evaporation and
mixing–water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and mixing–water vapor is added to the air
by evaporation, and the moist air mixes with relatively dry air." (Ahrens & Samson, 2011, p. 97)
Radiation Fog, (ground fog)– Occurs when the radiational air temperature is below its dew point
over land. The best conditions are when dry air overlay's a thin layer of humid air during a clear
night. These conditions allow for cooling of the ground to happen fast due to the thin layer, humid
layer does not take in much earth's departing infrared radiations.
Advection fog, conditions call for hot and humid air to blow over a cool surface, since the surface
cools the air. The dew point temperature has to be cool enough as the air temperature which causes
condensation to form and creates a dense fog to form. "As the warm air cools, the temperature will
reach the dew point temperature, forcing the water vapor to condense into a cloud." (Masters, 2016)
Upslope fog, this type of fog may occur on mountain tops when cold air blows up a slope known as,
orographic uplift. The air condenses since it builds up moisture as the cold rises. Evaporation
(mixing) fog, this type of fog forms when two unsaturated masses of air are combined.

"A good advertisement is one which sells the product without drawing attention to itself." David
Ogilvy an advertising typhoon and founder of Ogilvy & Mather, basically states commercials want
you to buy their product without focusing on it as a whole. Marketers want to sell their products by
showing consumers things they like and relating it to the product. All advertisements have two
agendas one to sell their product and two, to give a message. Sometimes those messages are positive
and made to make an educational message. Sometimes the message in advertisements are negative
and make implications; tons of people don't agree on or aimed to target a group of people because of
race. Making these negative implications causes conflict between the seller and the audience. Which
loses the whole point of the commercial, to sell a product, so why imply them, to begin with? The
commercials Popchips and Mountain Dew were very similar in showing negative messages, but
both had different ways of portraying it.
The Popchips commercial was very unique, in the way it was trying to sell its product. When the ad
first begins it starts off as a dating website called worldwide lovers. The ad wanted to give the idea
that Popchips was made for everyone in the world. The whole reason they used a fake dating
website in the commercial was to utilize the different types of people liking Popchips. The
commercial used one man, Ashton Kutcher, to play different types of people in the world. All the

Analysis Of Katherine Shonfield 's ' Walls Have Feelings '...
In this essay, I would be analysing Katherine Shonfield 's book 'Walls have Feelings : architecture,
film and city ' where she discusses the constructional problems in Repulsion film and in Rosemary 's
Baby new contemporary architectural interest which were introduced in 1960 's. I would be
discussing the damp penetration in detail, with that I would also be disusing the issues on sound
penetration. I feel each style has flaws even though while constructing it, designing it, there might
not be but when once users/occupants come back to measure in step with their nature or behaviour,
there are some flaws in the look the designer, architects, planners have created like Jonathan Hill has
aforementioned, "The user is an important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of per the Building laws, the insulation is against airborne sounds like voices, not against
the impact of sound against the walls like hammering a nail, noise pipes or vigour bed sheets. Once
sound meets the building, like a floor, a ceiling or a wall the sound reflects back to the area, a part of
it is absorbed by the fabric and the left over is transmitted to the succeeding area. The sound
absorbed, mirrored and transmitted depends on each of the thickness/thinness of the wall as well as
the material on the wall. (Figure 1) Katherine Shonfield makes a case for this idea in her book 'Walls
have Feelings ' within which she highlights that in Rosemary 's Baby, Rosemary is lying awake in
her bed, the noise from her neighbour is keeping her awake and once she sleeps the sound becomes
her nightmare. This might be because of the poor sense of designing, the wall that is supposed to
defend her has failed to guard her. Similarly, in Repulsion, the protagonist, Carol will hear a tolling
bell from outside which calls nuns in a neighbour convent to prayer. Due to poor planning of the
building occupants may have heavy health problems. Health problems like high blood pressure,
deafness, sleep disturbances, amendment of behaviour additionally as psychological issues, etc. The
said nightmare which Rosemary have could be due to the lack of sleeping or the disturbance of the
sleep. The noise problem should be solved

Disadvantages Of Mountain Dew Advertising HERIOT–WATT UNIVERSITY, DUBAI CAMPUS SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND LANGUAGES INTERNATIONAL MARKETING (C11IM) MOUNTAIN DEW: THE MOST RACIST SOFT–DRINK COMMERCIAL IN HISTORY? Varun Sampath Gorur: H00174700 Ninoshka Saldanha: H00208541 Mohammed Ahmed El–Imam: H00176276 Introduction: Mountain Dew last year had released a series of online advertisements developed by African– American rapper Tyler, The Creator, which featured an angry Mountain Dew–drinking goat named Felicia. Influence consumer purchase: Association with a celebrity is a matter of prestige, his/her involvement in an advertisement would influence his/her fans to adopt the same brand. Example an advertisement featured by any of Real Madrid or Barcelona stars would generate new accounts for the Organisation because it has been testimony by their favorite celebrity. Building awareness: Partnership with celebrity creates awareness of the products and a real understanding of what the Organization offers. Audience tend to talk about the brand and the products as their favorite celebrity is featured in it. Attract new users: Favorite celebrity would entice new users; their fans would love products they advertise. Example Toyota brand on any of football team would attract their fans. Position a brand: Nowadays, there are so many products on the shelves and lots of advertisements on air; hence the consumers would be confused. Media Marketing For Mountain Dew From The 1960's Mountain Dew, a company who has a special mission to provide consumers around the world with delicious, affordable, convenient and complimentary beverages. Due to this mission, the company has made numerous commercials since the beginning of time. In this essay, I will show the differences between media marketing for Mountain Dew from the 1960's until today. The commercials I have chosen have the same type of story style, and really look similar when compared side by side. The first commercial I will analyze is the earlier mountain dew commercial from the 1960's. Automatically when watching this commercial, color pops right in the viewer's eyes. This was one of the first commercials in color so it does not have any bright colors ,but the scheme includes light blues, greens, browns, and yellow. The characters also have very nice and porcelain skin with an almost ivory undertone which makes them really pop out against the mountain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The commercial is very light when the animals are dancing, and dark at the end an emphasis on the cat. The commercial really made it dark when the weirdest parts happened to really put emphasis on the reaction on the dancing animals which are the main object of the commercial. The commercial really enforces the idea that the energy given by this drink is so great, that it is passed from each animal which would be the main characters. Since the main characters are animals, there is no real talking in the commercial, instead there is just a bold statement at the end, and enticing dance music. Due to the music, the commercial is very happy, and is very upbeat like the earlier commercial mentioned. In conclusion of this ad, the target audience would be everyone because it is not really for kids but would appeal because of the dancing, but with today's society dancing cats appeal to everyone and ... Windy nights are not ideal for an inversion to occur since an inversion is considered a stable layer of atmosphere as well as due to the wind mixing the air to even out the density, remembering cold air is denser than warm air so it will flow downhill and pool in a valley. 2. What are the various methods used to protect sensitive crops from damaging low temperatures? Explain why each method works. Various methods to help protect sensitive crops include: a. Though the creative changed, the target market for Mountain Dew remained in line. Mountain Dew's ad campaign between 1995 and 1999 did not fare extremely well. PepsiCo decided that in 2000 Mountain Dew would be featured during the Super Bowl rather than Pepsi. Selecting an advertisement that is closely related would be the most attractive strategy. "It is important for marketers to devise communications that (1) offer consistent messages about their products and (2) are placed in media that consumers in the target market are likely to use." (Donnelly, Peter, 2007) Understanding this, the marketing executives would need to choose advertisements that are related; therefore, Mock Opera, Dew or Die, and Showstopper would be the most appealing to consumers. For the Super Bowl feature Mock Opera and Dew or Die would be the least complicated to produce. Showstopper would involve many choreographed moves that would take longer to produce. The benefits of selecting this alternative would be that Mountain Dew would receive two features during the Super Bowl and that they would be able to reach their objective as well. They would also meet their market positioning objective as well, reaching 18 year old males that embrace excitement, adventure, and fun. The down fall of utilizing this alternative would be that they will be pressured to produce both advertisements with "Super Bowl quality." This could be as much of a bad marketing strategy as it is beneficial. Recommendations Alternative two would be the best choice for Mountain Dew. The sun vanished behind the arms of the trees as we ventured deeper into the mountains. Miles of vegetation swarmed on the like we were entering a jungle. The mountain peaks impaled the sky like a sword. Darkness crept and latched on to our van with every twist and turn. Fog whisked it's way like a tidal wave through the trees. As we approached our destination, the twists and turns only become more abundant. After each turn anxiety grips us with anguish because one incorrect turn would either throw you into the side of a mountain, or hurdle you into an infinite abyss below. Poverty spread like a disease as we passed houses, each one worse than the previous. Boarded up homes appeared every half mile. People stared as we drove by, as if they were giving us a warning: leave. A stream to the side of the road seemed to be our companion as it followed us every step of the way. The temperature dropped the farther we descended into the mountain. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we finally reached our destination in the middle of nowhere: the mission. As my youth group and I unpacked our bags from the truck, we all gawked at the scenery of the environment. Trees surround you and would not let you go, secluding us from civilization. Rocks huddled together on the banks of the creek. The mission and the dorms sat atop rolling hills and one misstep could send you tumbling into the creek. The creek itself appeared like gravy with a thick consistency. Legend had it, Danial Boone skinned a bear in the creek, and the intestines tormented the water, turning it to a murky brown (people didn't want to admit it, but because of the trash they had heaved in the creek is what altered it's consistency). The leader of the mission introduced himself to the youth group and I and invited us all inside the mission to have a meeting. He discussed the projects we would be tending to while in Big Laurel, Kentucky and what groups we would be in. He gave us a tour of the dorms as well as other features of the mission, and also included a few rules. Rule #1: never leave the dorm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Priest Mountain is nestled on the east edge of the Grand Mesa National Forest. Deep sugary snow and feathery blue spruce trees cover the mountain and the area around. One fine day it occurred that I had the opportunity to carve my highmark and I still I have the mental image of my territory after that day. Even before that day, Priest has left a impression on me. Priest Mountain, for me, has been such a majestic riding area; Iíve been riding in this area for more than 10 years, and it is such a magical place to ride. I jumped out into the first park that we came to and the fresh new powder exalted me. We then rode over to our friend's cabin to say hello and have a Pepsi. We asked our friend, Bob to come along for the ride and he was delighted to join us. From there we cut across flat lined Twin Lake and then across the untracked Eggleston Lake. To my unpleasant surprise, we approached the lodge, and sleds were buzzing around like crows on road kill. Ten miles down the road I expected to, at least, see some other people riding, but we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We rode from mountain to mountain, crossing open drainages and gigantic playgrounds of snow one after another. After an hour of hard riding we came to our first rest stop and decided to ride over towards Priest. Of course, we played and got stuck along the way. We hung a right at the Weir and Johnson turnoff, and blazed up the trail. I had the privilege of breaking trail through the pristine powder. It was hypothesized that if the percentage of oxygen is measured experimentally in Chem B at Woonsocket High School, then it would be higher than the percentage of oxygen in dry air, which is 20.95%, because the air is not dry due to moisture in the air from people breathing and the altitude of where the experiment takes place may affect it as well. The number of people in the room, contributing to the humidity, is one of the contributing factors to the change in percentages of oxygen. The condensation of a person's exhaled breath is a factor that also minimally contributes to the humidity in the atmosphere. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air at any given moment. When a person exhales, it marginally impacts the relative humidity, and, due to common sense, if there is more people in the room, there is a greater level of humidity. The percentage of oxygen in dry air is 20.95%. However, the air is not always dry. Thus, the percentage of oxygen cannot always be the same if humidity is always changing. Furthermore, dew point temperature is the absolute measure of the amount of water vapor present in the air. So, if the temperature is higher, it can hold more water vapor, making warmer climates much more humid than cooler climates. So, the temperature in the room is also an indirect contributing factor to the percentage of oxygen in the air. The distance above sea level is thought to potentially affect the percentages of oxygen. Nonetheless, it has been established that the percentage of oxygen molecules is always the same when considering altitude. This is because air is compressible, so the weight of all the air above applies pressure to the air at that particular altitude, making that air at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. A Brief Note On The Air Temperature Inversion 1. Is a temperature inversion more likely to form on a calm or a windy night? Why? The air temperature inversion is more likely to occur on a calm night versus a windy night. The inversion will happen when the air, closest to the earth is a lot colder than the air higher in the atmosphere. Wind will naturally mix and causing the temperature preventing an inversion. Temperature inversion may happen during a cold front moving through. 2. What are the various methods used to protect sensitive crops from damaging low temperatures? Explain why each method works. Fruit trees can be very vulnerable for farmers (Ahrens 65). Many ways a farmer can protect their crops as they are blossoming during low temperatures is by using orchard heaters or Smudge pots. Smudge pot warm the air around the trees close to the ground producing heat to raise the temperatures. Another way that farmer protects their crops to warm the ground. They way the ground is warmed is through a devices such as a wind machine (Ahrens 65). A wind machine is a fan, which emulates propellers. One of the advantages that the wind machines provide is that they turn on and off as they reach certain temperatures. The basic way to protect crops is by covering them. On a cold night to protect small plants of shrubs covering them with straw, cloth, or plastic sheeting will prevent ground heat from being radiated away (Ahrens 65). 3. The "Bozeman Video" says that when atoms are more compact in an object, the object is more dense. When an object is more dense than the liquid it's being put in, it sinks. If the object is less dense than the liquid it's being put in, it floats. In a lab we did, we put a regular Mountain Dew can that was full into a bucket of tap water and salt water. We also put a can of diet Mountain Dew into both buckets. We observed whether they would float or sink. When we put a can of normal Mountain Dew into a bucket of tap water, the Mountain Dew sank. • 46. Redemption In The Dew Breaker Redemption of Evil Acts In "The Dew Breaker," a reoccurring tone of redemption of evil acts is something that Danticat comes back to time and time again. Throughout the novel, redemption comes in different forms, especially for the two strongest representations of violence, with that being Claude and the "dew breaker." Through Claude, the reader can argue that his character helps give insight to the "dew breaker." A question can be asked, is redemption possible when someone has committed evil acts of crime and violence? In her novel, Danticat does not come out to give the reader that answer; however, the reader observes through the text that redemption is possible. They like a variation in the taste of their caffeinated drinks. Bougner preferred Mountain Dew for another reason. He felt it is a lighter drink, unlike Coke and other pops that are more concentrated. "It's like comparing dark beer to light beer," he said. "Mountain Dew is the light beer." Some debate how effective this drink really is. While some students depend on it to keep them awake, others find it ineffective. Junior John Kaitei said he has experienced moments when the power drink did not perform its task. He would drink several bottles, yet still be overcome by drowsiness. "Sometimes you just have to take a nap," he said. Students have discovered that Mountain Dew eventually loses its effect. Kawira feels this beverage cannot always be dependable. "If you're drinking it a lot, then it's less effective because you build up a tolerance," he said. Noah Foster, a senior who once was addicted to Mountain Dew, said he is no longer affected by the drink because he has become immune to it. When he first started drinking Dew, it only took one 20– ounce bottle to keep him up.

  • 59. Hydrocarbon Dew Point Of The Natural Gas Industry Essay Abstract:– Hydrocarbon Dew Point has always been a vital operational parameter and but it is becoming a critical tariff parameter for the natural gas industry. Hydrocarbon Dew Point considered as quality parameter for natural gas. Dew point control is one of the most important operations at the beginning of the gas processing chain. Its main purpose is to ensure that liquids (either hydrocarbons or water) are not formed in the pipelines to allow a safe and reliable transportation of the gas to markets. The by–product liquids recovered could be used as fuel, or alternatively stabilized and Marketed as condensate. The knowledge of the hydrocarbon dew point (HCDP) is of great importance for the oil and gas industry as it is one of the gas quality specifications used for ensuring safe transport of natural gas. Avoiding hydrocarbon condensation is crucial as the presence of liquids in the pipelines increases the pressure drop and introduces operational problems in pipelines designed for single phase transportation. Thus, accurate measurement and prediction of hydrocarbon dew points are of great importance to obtain a safe and effective utilization of the natural gas pipelines. Introduction:– Hydrocarbon dew point is defined in the International Standard Organization (ISO) 11150: 2007 and ISO 14532: 2005 as the: Temperature above which no condensation of hydrocarbons occurs at a specified pressure. It is important to become educated on these issues of racism and sexism especially violence against women, and how they systematically affect specific subsets of people. The Mountain Dew commercial is one of three, the very last commercial. It opens with a line–up of men and a goat. The woman is asked by the police officer to point to the assailant. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the Mountain Dew ad "Nasty Goat" from a cultural studies perspective by critiquing the criminalization of African American men as well as violence against women are portrayed as humorous. One might think that the fog is made by water in the atmosphere but Kuntzleman questioned this common thought's validity and explored dry–ice + water=fog at the molecular level. This allowed Kuntzleman to determine at what point fog had been made. Types Of Fogs And The Foggiest Places Types of Fogs and the Foggiest places in U.S. Fog, "like any cloud, usually forms in one of two ways: (1) by cooling–air is cooled below its saturation point (dew point); and (2) by evaporation and mixing–water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and mixing–water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and the moist air mixes with relatively dry air." (Ahrens & Samson, 2011, p. 97) Radiation Fog, (ground fog)– Occurs when the radiational air temperature is below its dew point over land. The best conditions are when dry air overlay's a thin layer of humid air during a clear night. These conditions allow for cooling of the ground to happen fast due to the thin layer, humid layer does not take in much earth's departing infrared radiations. Advection fog, conditions call for hot and humid air to blow over a cool surface, since the surface cools the air. The dew point temperature has to be cool enough as the air temperature which causes condensation to form and creates a dense fog to form. "As the warm air cools, the temperature will reach the dew point temperature, forcing the water vapor to condense into a cloud." (Masters, 2016) Upslope fog, this type of fog may occur on mountain tops when cold air blows up a slope known as, orographic uplift. The air condenses since it builds up moisture as the cold rises. Evaporation (mixing) fog, this type of fog forms when two unsaturated masses of air are combined. Some of the foggiest places that we can see these events ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. The Negative Implications Of Popchips Vs. Mountain Dew "A good advertisement is one which sells the product without drawing attention to itself." David Ogilvy an advertising typhoon and founder of Ogilvy & Mather, basically states commercials want you to buy their product without focusing on it as a whole. Marketers want to sell their products by showing consumers things they like and relating it to the product. All advertisements have two agendas one to sell their product and two, to give a message. Sometimes those messages are positive and made to make an educational message. Sometimes the message in advertisements are negative and make implications; tons of people don't agree on or aimed to target a group of people because of race. Making these negative implications causes conflict between the seller and the audience. Which loses the whole point of the commercial, to sell a product, so why imply them, to begin with? The commercials Popchips and Mountain Dew were very similar in showing negative messages, but both had different ways of portraying it. The Popchips commercial was very unique, in the way it was trying to sell its product. When the ad first begins it starts off as a dating website called worldwide lovers. The ad wanted to give the idea that Popchips was made for everyone in the world. The whole reason they used a fake dating website in the commercial was to utilize the different types of people liking Popchips. The sound absorbed, mirrored and transmitted depends on each of the thickness/thinness of the wall as well as the material on the wall.
