2. Existing Product The horror clown
looks demonic which
is shown by the blood
shot red eyes and also
the teeth symbolize
death and alien like as
they are all yellow,
brown and large like a
alien like character.
The background shows that
the film has scenes in a
church. A church is
considered a peaceful and
holy place and therefore
filming a horror scene there
may instill real life fear to the
audience.
The light in the
background is used for
effect as when he
moves forward the
shadow at the top on
the ceilings and walls
causes a horror,
dramatic effect to
spook the readers.
The clothing
indicate how the
movie is set in the
past as the
clothing is of old
times and it is like
what people used
to where in the
past with the big
fluffy like dress.
3. Existing Product
The title looks very eerie
with the marks and dark
stains on, also the red
symbolizes blood.
The balloon has a face on it
which could connotate that
the clown has killed
someone and the reason
for the face being on the
balloon is because the
balloon will be floating
away just like when the
person who the clown
killed will also be gone.
The fairy lights gives an
innocent affect to the
background as he walks
down the stairs but this is
eradicated by having the
clown as sinister looking
and frightening
The hair makes him
look psychotic and
crazy as it is fuzzy and
all over the place.
Also the blue is not
normally a colour
people naturally have
as hair which also
shows how he has
turned into a
monster.
I will also plan to make
more movies like this in
the future which have a
paranormal storyline to
it.
4. Existing Product The blood represents
the bodies which
were killed and
brutally tortured.
The chains show that
even though they have
been locked in a room
they are still being
forced to be chained to
things which shows
they are being captive.
The person at the bottom is reaching
for the weapon which he could be
using to kill the other person in the
picture as he is going insane being
trapped or also it could be to cut the
chains and get to try get them free.
The room looks filthy
and misty from the
floor and walls which
show how they are
not being treat right.
The title is disjointed and
of different sizes which
gives an edgy effect to
the picture and film as it
makes it look creepy
which the movie also
presents.
5. Existing product
The lines are short and
have ellipses after a few
words to create tension
and suspense so that it
attracts the audience to
watch the trailer for the
film or even just go
straight away and watch
the full film.
The clown’s hands are demonic
and creature like rather than
humane as you can see by the
colour of the hands as they look
grey and monstrous looking to
make the character seem like an
animal which makes him more fun
to watch and frightening
The clown’s eyes are
dark and very sinister
looking which looks like
he has evil intentions.
The title is bright and
gold to stand out as it is
the main attraction so
that viewers know the
name of the movie they
will go to watch.

25. Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the
strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• The strengths of this was that you could research any products
and use whichever which helped as then you had a variety to
choose whichever one would help what product you were
making and also it showed how to set yours out and the layout
which was helpful if you got stuck.
• The weakness was that I couldn’t find any movies similar at the
beginning and was struggling to find any but I kept on persisting
and found some and also got one sent to me by my tutor who
helped me massively with the product she sent me to talk about.
– Questionnaires- This was massive as it helped me see what my
audience liked in a horror film which will help me sell my product if it
is up to standards with what my audience like in a horror film and if
my film was to the standards on the questionnaire.
– Interviews- The interviews helped get a clear layout of what people’s
interestsof horror films were and what they liked about horror films
which I will then translate that information on to my horror film so
that they will enjoy the movie.
26. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
I got a varied response as not everyone likes horror films or the same types of
horror films. This was shown as a lot of people choose gory or psychological
thriller or different years of horror movie so people prefer modern day horror but
majority prefer the old days horror movies compared to the current day horror
films.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
The advantage of distributing my survey was that I sent it to different people
and not all of them like horror so my survey results had a variety of answers .
The disadvantage was that I sent my survey to people outside my course and
they may not enjoy films but answered it without any thought whereas people in
the class would give it thought and consideration.
