What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
2. The only hardware we have used is the HD cameras
and a tripod. From using the HD cameras I’ve learnt
firstly how to use it, meaning how to record, change the
settings and how to create certain shots. The software
we used to edit our product was Final Cut Express; we
used this software as it is easy to use and edits footage
at a high quality. I had no idea how to use the software
however a teacher was able to help me and guide me
how to use it and I was able to learn from YouTube. The
fact the software was digital along with the camera, this
allowed us to easily make small changes to our product.
My skills have developed since September when I first
started my coursework; this includes new skills in editing
using the software.
3. Before I wouldn’t have been able to add a transition
from one shot to another or able to make text look
and act a certain way or make it travel across the
screen. Using the software we were able to add
music to accompany the visuals, for example during
the shot that had the Cat in it, we were able to add
a Cat screech to make it more effective and
enhance the point that nobody, not even the Cat,
liked our character. In our preliminary, similarly, we
only used the HD camera and tripod. In our
product our voice over lacked quality as we didn’t
have suitable hardware to record the voice over,
this took away some of the quality of our product.
