AS Media Evaluations

1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?

2. I had never used any of this programmes or
technologies before. The technologies have I
been introduced to are:

3. Blogger
I have never had a blog before my
media blog so I had to learn how to
post, then edit and add labels. As well
as that I learnt how to post word
documents through slide share onto
my blog. This is an essential part and
learning these skills has helped a lot
with my project as it has been the
place where all my documents are so
that I could refer to them whenever I
needed to.

4. I used Prezi to present some of my evaluations. This
programme is a way to create presentations but in a
more eye catching way than Powerpoint. I then used
Slideshare to convert my prezi so I could post it on my
blog. This is how we converted documents into a slide
show to put on our blogs. I had to learn how to up load
and change and add details to be able to post the
document onto my blog. Without Slideshare I would
have had to copy and paste my work from word onto
blogger and then post but slide share has helped to cut
down time and make the process easier. This has been
a major role in media project as it has helped to blog
my pre production and film beginning.

5. Premiere Pro
I had never used this programme or any film
editing programme before, this programme has
been a big factor of this project because it is how
I edited my film and put effects in to enhance the
film. I have learnt how to cut, change the rate of
a cut, add music, render, import and export and
add effects. When exporting I learnt what
settings to put my piece in and the type of file I
should save it as. B this programme is used to
edit and add effects to your media piece I have
used it to edit and piece my film beginning
together and have added a few effects and
credits. Although I have learnt all this there is still
so much more to do and learn on this
programme.

6. Microphone for
cameras
I used this microphone for my
preliminary task but it wasn’t
successful so I used it again for my
2 minute film beginning. This
helped my piece because it made
their voices louder as well as little
sounds that make all the difference
for example, footsteps, keys rattling
and knife cutting. This piece of
equipment is used to emphasise
sounds rather than just using the
camera to record the sound.

7. Other technologies
I have also used programmes such as:
Microsoft Word- I used this to help plan my media piece
including the floor plans and writing my script in the correct
format. I used this programme because it was the most
simple and efficient way to produce my plan.
Powerpoint- I have used this to present one of my evaluation
questions. I did this because the question included pictures
and Powerpoint presents pictures and text together neatly.
The Internet- I used this to research my genre, films in the
genre of my film and distribution companies. As well as that it
is how I have accessed Blogger, Slideshare and Prezi.
