1. Evaluation Part 4
How did you use new media technologies construction and research,
Planning and evaluation stages?
2. Equipment
This is the equipment we used for the constriction of our music video.
All the equipment was helpful when shooting our video. The main
computer you can see here is the computer we used t edit various pieces of
our work when dealing with the video. The computers provided by the
school were very helpful ad the programs they had on there supported some
of the top editing tech around, such as ‘New Vegas Movie maker’ and
Photoshop which helped us edit our Digi-pack.
The camera was not the best quality camera in the world but it got the job
done. It had good buttons which made zooming in and recording quite easy,
we could also link this up to YouTube very easily.
The Tri-pod which was brought in by myself created great panning shots
and smooth movement throughout the video. It had a large selection of
heights which helped more differentiation of shots in the video.
3. Additional Equipment
This additional artificial light was amazing for creating some really effective shots, however we
would not of been able to of done this without the school having a great drama room which
enabled us to have a blacked out room, thus making the shots a lot more effective. The light gave
the spot light effect we were looking for and was really great for when we wanted to extend or
lower the light for different effects.
4. Blogger .com
This is the program I used to post all of my work on is simple and fantastic to use. After a while I
became used to this program and started to introduce other things to make my blog page look
more interesting such as a few pictures and a different backgrounds. The most effective part of
using blogger was that when I posted something up such as my digipack, videos, and written
theory which meant my teacher could give me feedback outside of lessons as well.
5. Slideshare.com
Using this program helped me put up my work in a well presented program. It was as usual quick
and easy as when I was done with the evaluation I could put it into slide share and then link it to
my blogger account. This was also another very diffident but effective way for my teacher to
mark my work without all the hassle with papers.
6. Youtube.com
We used YouTube to broadcast our video which also gave us a chance to get feedback from
viewers. Many successful songs that are currently on YouTube will get many hits from
displaying there songs and in turn YouTube will pay them a substantial amount for these views.
In addition to the amount of views people can click the ‘Like’ button which will show there
expression quickly, this is also helpful for our video as we will also know if people approve of
our video.
7. New movie vagas
For publishing and editing our video we used New movie Vegas which is a program supplied by
Sony. This helped us edit certain part so of our video, for example if we only wanted 15 seconds
of a 20 second clip would could easily snip this part of to the specification needed. Movie Vegas
has a wide selection of techniques to boost the music video’s effect, one of the technique that
helped us while using this program was the smooth transitions between shots and the slow
motion which helped the flow of the song and the effect it made.
8. Photoshop
When editing our dig pack we used this program to edit the photos. As you can see above we
used various editing applications to make the photo more effective. We brightened this image
which was used for our advert to make it more eye catching. We also edited the text because for
an advert to be effective it needs to be easily seen so we put shadow behind the text which made
it stand out with the other colours on the advert. These techniques that we used helped produce
more effective colours on the advert and our whole Di-Gi pack, with Photoshop it helped with
brightening colours, sharpening the photo, and help make the font jump of the page.
9. Facebook.com
We also used Facebook which helped us extremely in the as when we posted things up we could
receive feedback from a variety of people. Facebook also helped us bring the group together
when we needed them, for example we could set a date and once everyone was happy with it
they can click weather they are available or not.
