The Theme Of Main Themes In Matched By Ally Condie
"Our time together feels like a storm, like a wild wind and rain, like something too big to handle but
too powerful to escape." (pg. 267) This quote is from an amazing Dystopian Young– Adult Fiction
Novel, Matched by Ally Condie. The themes of this book are lies and deceit, courage, and choices.
The main characters are Cassia Maria Reyes, Xander Thomas Carrow, Ky Markham, and Emily. The
book is set in Oria Province in The Society. In Matched, at the age of 17, teenagers are matched to
the person they will spend the rest of their lives with and at her Match Banquet, Cassia is Matched
to her best friend, Xander. When she get her microcard with all the information about her Match,
instead of seeing Xander's face on it, she sees Ky Markham's, an Aberration, a low status person.
She becomes increasingly intrigued about knowing better her accidental Match and eventually,
spending more time together, they un–coincidentally get matched into being partners in their hiking
hours. They eventually fall in love but it is obviously forbidden by The Society, so the ... Show more

Ky is an Aberration (second lowest level in the social caste) because his father committed an
Infraction and has to suffer the consequences like never entering the Matching Pool (which means
he can never be matched). He is usually alone until Cassia starts spending time with him after she
saw him on her microcard. He finds himself falling hard for her and tells her his whole story of his
life and how he became an Aberration. In the end, he teaches Cassia to write cursive and tells her
that he loves her. "Cassia. I know which life is my real one now, no matter what happens. It's the one
with you. For some reason, knowing that even one person knows my story makes things different.
Maybe it's like the poem says. Maybe this is my way of not going gentle. I love you." (pg.

Choosing A Major And An Idea Of A Career
Choosing a major and an idea of a career you want to pursue, is not an easy choice. There is a lot of
thinking that goes into deciding what you want to study and what you want to become in the future.
Most people are not positive even once they have entered college as to what it is for sure they want
to do. This MyPlan assessment was extremely informative in what my skills were and how I could
use them. Going to the Career Center on February 5 really helped me to understand what my results
meant and what I could take out of this assessment. We took four tests, a personality, personal
interest, skills, and values test. For my personality test report, there were 4 different categories
looked at to come up with a combined census of what my personality is. You were either,
extroverted or introverted, sensor or intuitive, thinker or feeler, and judger or perceiver. My results
showed that I was ESTJ. Which means that I am extroverted, sensor, thinker, and a judger.
Extroverts basically respond very well to social gatherings and like to be around people. They are
usually very talkative and tend to work well in teams. Sensors seek specific answers to specific
questions. Usually they do not have a very wide imagination and are more realistic. Thinkers believe
that it is important to be right and honest with themselves than it is to be liked. A thinker seeks
fairness and tend to be tough–minded. Judgers appreciate organizations, punctuality, order,
schedules, etc. Judgers tend to

Comparing The Hunger Games, Sheet 'AndThe Perfect Match'
Dystopian novels are becoming more and more common these days, with more well known series
including The Hunger Games, Divergent, Fahrenheit 451, and so many more. A commonality
between all of these is the way their society is controlled by the government. Most of the time, the
citizens have no control over anything because the government makes the decisions for everyone.
The two short stories used in this paper are both dystopian short stories and show a lot about how
modern society acts and what it could turn into. "The Perfect Match" by Hen Liu focuses on a world
where everyone is connected to each other through a handy gadget named Tilly, created by
Centillion Software. "Ten With a Flag" by Joseph Paul Haines is about a society where ... Show

Similarly, "Ten With a Flag" has a deep reliance on technology; however, it is used in a different
way. In this story, instead of Tilly, the citizens have something called Central. Central is a little
different than Tilly, though, in regards to what it is used for. Instead of Central being a personal
assistant, it is the main grid that everyone is connected to. Their cars operate with Central to drive
the citizens where they need to go, Central keeps track of messages, it picks out their wardrobe, and
does a lot of things for the individual, much like Tilly can do in the other story. The main issue this
story talks about is how the government uses Central to determine how helpful a child will be to
society before it has even been born. Human Services uses Central to "predict the future based off
the child's cellular past and other environmental factors" (Haines). Once the child's usefulness has
been determined, they tell the parents what rank their child is in. If the child has a higher rank than
the parents, the parents will receive a promotion. If the child has any abnormality Central marks it
with a flag and the parents are given the option to terminate the pregnancy. However, what Human
Services does not tell the parents is that their request to terminate the pregnancy is not always
accepted. After all, "the flag is an option, not a right" (Haines).
Tilly and Central are both

reality star is now engaged. Maddie is now engaged to Caleb Brush and already planning her big
day. The couple has shared that they want a outdoor country wedding. Caleb did it right and
contacted Maddie's dad Kody Brown to get permission before popping the question. Caleb took
Maddie on a ride on his ATV, stopped at a scenic outlook and then popped the question with a blue
diamond ring. Obviously Maddie said yes to him right away and now they are already making
wedding plans. Brown shared the details of the big proposal. Of course she kissed him and said yes

Characteristics Of An Oligopoly
It's called an oligopoly. It's not a regular market... It's a market in which they control the prices and
they've been doing it for years.
Richard Miller
The quote above explains the characteristics of an oligopoly in comparison to other market
structures. Miller suggests the nature of the market is uncommon and that prices are rigid.
The hypothesis mentioned in the introduction supports this assumption on the real estate market in
Hanoi. However, it can be questioned whether the real estate market is an oligopoly.
2.1 Market structure
In economics, a market structure refers to the characteristics of a market that influence the behavior
of firms within an industry. These include number of firms, market power, level and forms of
competition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In oligopoly, industries are dominated by a small number of large firms, though in any one industry
the firms are likely to vary in size. The concentration ratios of these firms tend to be fairly high. This
means that, for example, the largest four firms in the industry accounts for 70% of the market share.
The implication of this is that firms in oligopoly are interdependent. The actions of one firm will
directly affect the others. Each of the large firms in the industry has to try and predict the actions of
the others. They may collude to avoid this.
2.2.3 High barriers to entry/exit
Barriers to entry are high. Oligopolies often maintain their position of dominance in a market
because other potential rivals are unable to enter the industry. The hurdles that prevent other firms
from entering the industry are called barriers to entry. These barriers could include government
licenses, economies of scale, patents and access to technology. In addition, many established
oligopolies spend enormous sums on product differentiation and advertising, making it difficult for
new firms to match such expenditures. High barriers to entry allow firms to make economic profits
in the long–run.

Employer 401 Case Study
We often ask the question, "How does our 401(k) plan stack up?" When you are an employee, you
will consider items such as the investment choices, administration fees, or loan terms. However, if
you are an owner, the most important thing to think about may be how to contribute the highest
amount you can under Section 415. For 2016, the defined contribution plan annual addition limit
without catch–up is $53,000, and will rise to $54,000 next year.
The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) subjects qualified employer plans to compliance testing.
Employer 401(k) plans must pass the "actual deferral percentage" (ADP) test, and if there are
employer match contributions, the "actual contribution percentage" (ACP) test. However, safe
harbor plans are not subject to discrimination testing if the plan sponsor contributes a pre–approved
safe harbor employer contribution.
Safe harbor plans guarantee that the Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) will be able to
contribute the maximum deferral amount of $18,000, but not necessarily the maximum annual
addition under Code Section 415. In those cases, the triple stack match formula may be the solution,
as follows:
Stack One: 100% of the first 3% of deferrals, plus 50% on the next 2% of deferrals. That means that
if an employee defers 5%, they will receive the maximum 4% of compensation match on the first ...

In addition to the requirements discussed above, it is important to remember that none of the stacked
matches can require a 1,000 hour of work or employment at year end. Stack One also cannot be
subject to vesting, as it must be fully vested to qualify as safe harbor. Provisions for the triple stack
match must be in place before the start of the plan year in which they are

Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes
For the most part, I enjoyed Nineteen Minutes. It was an extremely emotional novel about a teen
boy that killed ten people in his high school. Describing the school shooting was not the book's main
idea, the real purpose was to explain the events leading up to and the events after the shooting. In
my opinion, Jodi Picoult started the book out beautifully when she described how long the school
shooting was by relating it to basic everyday things that most people could relate to.
Most of Nineteen Minutes took place after the shooting, when the community was trying to recover
and rebuild trust after the horrific deed of Peter Houghton. Honestly, at first I was shocked because I
couldn't understand why Jodi Picoult kept backing up Peter and

Purpose Statement: In 1992, congress passed the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act to
outlaw sports gambling in 46 states. Although sports gambling has been banned, it is still happening
under the table. In 2018, the NBA's support under present Commissioner Adam Silver for
nationwide legalized sports gambling is reaching new heights. This analysis is to discover the
history of sports gambling and the NBA's attitude to sports gambling.
Research Questions: Should sports gambling be legalized? If sports gambling is legalized, what can
the NBA get from it and what should the NBA do?

have been against sports gambling for a long time, however, some of them have changed their

The Role Of Parenthood In Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes
"In nineteen minutes, you can mow the front lawn, color your hair, watch a third of a hockey game.
You can bake scones or get a tooth filled by a dentist.... Or, as Peter Houghton knows... in nineteen
minutes, you can bring the whole world to a screeching halt"(Picoult 363). In Nineteen Minutes by
Jodi Picoult, Peter had been bullied his whole life, and he wanted revenge. Peter felt the only way to
get revenge was to pull the trigger towards classmates and teachers.
Nineteen Minutes takes place in a small town known as Sterling. In Sterling, everybody knows
everybody. You stop at an intersection, and you know the person stopped next to you. You see your
neighbors at the grocery store, and your teacher at Olive Garden. So obviously, everyone in the
small town knew Peter and his family. Could you imagine the looks Peter's parents receive from the

The conflict Peter was struggling with himself was impossible to conquer without support from

it seem like the bullying would never stop, so he figured he was the one who had to stop

Society's Matchd: Chapter Summary
I am reading Matched by Ally Condie and I am on page 208. This book is about a young girl named
Cassia Reyes, living in the Society. In the Society they have perfected most everything that was
wrong with the world and they regulated and decide everything. The hopes of this process is to
ensure a long healthy life with those you love surrounding you always. Cassia has never questioned
or broke the Society's rules. Around the time a teenage girl turns seventeen they are invited to a
match banquet where they find out who their ideal match is. Cassia is matched with her lifelong best
friend, Xander. Cassia is very pleased with this and does not question the Society's match until she

One characteristic of Cassia is that she is curious. After, seeing Ky's face on the micro card and
learning about his status, Cassia becomes very curious. She asks Ky's questions about his past that
are considered inappropriate. She asks him to teach her to write because wonders about the past and
she wants to be able to create. Ky gives her little pieces of his past at a time and Cassia is always
wanting more of it. Cassia's grandfather gave her and artifact with a forbidden poem inside of it. The
poem tell the reader to fight. Cassia never thought of her grandfather as a rebel, so it confuses her
that he gave it to her. After reading the poem and being with Ky, Cassia starts to see things
differently and to question the Society's choices. She wonders about her match and about why the
Society took everyone's artifacts. SHe wonders how things might have been if Ky were not an
aberration and is indeed her match. Another characteristic of Cassia is that she is strong. When she
was younger, Cassia's grandfather told her that she is strong enough to not take the calming, green
tablet. She has stuck to this and has never taken the tablet. It is a common thing to take the tablet so
I believe that not taking it makes her strong. Another reason Cassia is strong is because the does so
for her brother. When the officials come to take everyone's artifacts, she is mad and hurt about it, but
she puts her feelings aside and worries about her brother. Her

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Matching System
3.4 Evaluation
As a basis for this logical framework first–order logic can be used. For evaluation stratification can
also be applied. It is a bottom–up evaluation phenomenon.
For evaluating matching rules there is need to have a hold on aggregation operations. To find the
best match first compute all possible matches with their matching confidence.
4 Challenges
There are mainly three drawbacks of rule–based techniques:
1. They cannot utilize data instances efficiently even though they conceal ample amount of
information like distribution, value format, frequency of words, and so on that would help in
matching process.
2. In some cases writing matching rules is very difficult due to incomplete information while in
learning based approach using appropriate learning methods such as Naïve Bayes make
"probabilistic rules" which can be done easily.
3. It cannot exploit previous matching efforts to serve the current matchings. Hence, systems that
uses only rule–based techniques face difficulties learning from the past, to improve over time.
Due to these reasons learning approach is developed and followed.
5 Opportunities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A new self–configuring and adaptive schema matching system has been proposed. It uses a
combination of schema and matrix features as well as different matching rules to construct and adapt
matching processes automatically. This framework offers some advantages like: correct methods for
dealing with schemas that are semantically rich like ontologies; extensible matchers; and semi–
automated derivation of the rules that are constructed for matching based on already mapped sources
like identifying constraints, synonyms etc. For diverse match problems this approach returns good
results as well as it is a good competitor of manually tuned approaches. It can be further enhanced to

Informative Speech On Content Implementation Plan Essay
Content Implementation Plan I am appreciative for the valuable information I obtained from this
course. I intend to incorporate the researched practices into my reading program. Allington
addressed several critical components of instruction necessary to ensure reading interventions are
delivered with the best intentions and students are responding successfully to the reading
interventions. However, my "aha–moments" included the topics: the volume of reading, matching
students' independent and instructional reading levels to appropriate texts, expert interventionist,
matching intervention to the classroom curriculum, and group size. Volume of Reading I agree with
Allington, the volume of reading is a critical component which supports the quantity of extensive
reading, required to ensure struggling readers accuracy and fluency rates accelerate to develop
proficient readers. Often the reading interventions focus on specific reading skills such as phonics,
word recognition, fluency (speed), and etc. The research suggests the intervention time be dedicated
to continuous reading versus using the majority of the time working on individual skills. Allington
provided me the critical awareness and the importance of the quantity of extensive reading. I
definitely will redesign my intervention time to reflect the suggested amount of time to focus on
individual reading skills and extensive reading, as Allington suggested. Therefore, I look forward to
incorporating extensive

Montgomery Vs Murray Persuasive Speech
The men's French Open Final was a tale of two players: Novak Djokovic, the undisputed best player
in the world, and Andy Murray, the man who rarely gets it done in big matches.
In Sunday's Final, Murray came out guns blazing, winning the first set 6–3 by playing solidly and
maintaining a controlled aggression. Toward the end of the first set, there was a controversial
moment when the umpire overruled a call and awarded Murray a point rather than replaying it. The
crowd, already overwhelmingly on Djokovic's side, really jumped on the official. Despite winning
the point, Murray seemed frazzled by the incident.
Djokovic got off to a hot start in the second set, while Murray seemed out of it. The match continued
in that manner with Djokovic winning the second set 6–1 and the third 6–2. After finally deciding to
resurface, Murray was competitive in the fourth set, but ultimately lost the set 6–4 to lose the match.

Court Tennis Research Paper
As tennis players we all strive to have the very best strokes and hit the ball as hard and as accurately
as possible – EVERY single time. However, this strategy is not always the best and most intelligent
one to employ. Tennis is a very unique sport that takes a lot of physical and mental strength, along
with unyielding strategical discipline. In order to be a successful player you must resist the
temptation of trying to rip every single ball past or through your opponent on the majority of your
shots. There are less than 1% of players who can do this and still win the majority of their matches.
In other words, the selection of different shots and playing styles are all like a different type of
poison, each with an accompanying antidote. There are no shots in tennis that do not have an
antidote. After playing tennis for even a short period of time you will begin to notice that there are
not a whole lot of people who have that "classical" all court tennis game, especially at the

You must also ask yourself, "Which one of my shots is better than this guy or gal?" Sometimes these
don't match up due to a lack of shot variety at your disposal, but testing your new strokes is
imperative for developing a reliable stroke. In my opinion, players with the most shot variety will
win more matches than a person who is very good at hitting one type of shot. I highly encourage
experimenting with newly learned shots, as there is no other way to develop shot reliability. While
doing this you must think of performance–based results as opposed to outcome–based results. If you
are too focused on the outcome of your shots during a match you are putting yourself under a lot of

The Process Of Matching Hospitals And Residents
Problem
Initial Solution
The process of matching hospitals and residents was chaotic and confusing before the NRMP began
to be used in 1952. The main way hospitals chose medical students was to extend an offer to the
student as early as they could. The demand of the hospitals was greater than the number of students
looking for residencies, prompting "considerable competition among hospitals for interns."1 This
competition lead to hospitals presenting students offers earlier than others could. With offers so
early, hospitals could not know the final class standings or grades of the students by the time they
finished school.1 In the most extreme cases, hospitals would send offers to students two years
preceding the internship.1 In 1926, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The small adjustments began in 1945; the first of which would help students by resolving "that
hospitals should allow students 10 days after an offer had been made to consider whether to accept
or reject it."1 In the year 1946, another change was made and students were given up to eight days
to respond.1 In 1949, the AAMC proposed "that appointments should be made by telegram at 12:01
A.M., November 15, with applicants not required to accept or reject them until 12:00 noon the same
day. Even this 12–hour waiting period was rejected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as
too long"1. They agreed on the "Appointment of Interns" which contained that "no specified waiting
period after 12:01 A.M. is obligatory"3. Even after these changes were made, it was clear that there
were still problems in the matching process. "In order to avoid these problems and the costs they
imposed, it was proposed, and ultimately agreed, that a more centralized matching procedure should
be tried"1.
Second Iteration of the Solution
Ultimately, the students were unhappy with modified original system. Their decisions had to be
made quickly and without the ability to consider other offers. The hospitals had to select students
before the students had developed any notable skills or even knew their specialty. Named as a form
of "congestion" and "market failure" by Roth in 2008, it was evident that changes in the residency
matching program needed to be made. Thus,

a life on her own terms even if it meant the end of her marriage.
Very soon after their marriage we begin to notice the differences between them. In their relationship
Nikhil was much more devoted. Whereas Moushumi seemed to feel as if she was trapped and felt
like she needed to break free. For instance Lahiri says, "she would sit at a (Lahiri 247). Moushumi
felt the need to rebel against her expectations as an Indian woman and wife. She never like the fact
that she was told something had to be a certain way because she was Bengali.
Eventually what she felt inside caused her to betray Gogol and his trust by having an affair with a
man named Dmitri, whom she met years ago. The strong urge to revolt against what she was told
diminished her relationship with Gogol. For instance Lahiri says, "This is what upsets her most to

the solution for her.
Despite all they have in common, Moushumi is clearly not the right one for Nikhil. Later on

Oligopoly : The Four Theories Of Market Structure
Market structure is defined as the particular environment of a firm, the characteristics of which
influence the firm's pricing and output decisions. There are four theories of market structure. These
theories are: Pure competition Monopolistic competition Oligopoly Monopoly
Each of these theories produce some type of consumer behavior if the firm raises the price or if it
reduces the price. The theory of pure competition is a theory that is built on four assumptions:
(1.)There are many sellers and many buyers, none of which is large in relation to total sales or
purchases. (2.) Each firm produces and sells a homogeneous product. (3.) Buyers and sellers have
all relevant information about prices, product quality, sources of supply, and so forth. (4.) Firms
have easy entry and exit. A pure competitive firm is a price taker. A price taker is a seller that does
not have the ability to control the price of the product it sells; it takes the price determined in the
market. The pure competitive firm is a price taker because a firm is restrained from being anything
but a price taker if it finds itself one among many firms where its supply is small relative to the total
market supply, and it sells a homogeneous product in a an environment where buyers and sellers
have all relevant information. Examples of perfect competition include some agricultural markets
and a small subset of the

Allocative Efficiency and Dynamic Efficiency
Efficiency is to fulfil the needs and wants of consumers by making optimal use of scarce limited
resources. There are several meanings of efficiency and all are linked to how well a market shares
scarce resources to satisfy consumers. The two of the terms within efficiency going to illustrate are
allocative efficiency and dynamic efficiency. Allocative efficiency Allocative efficiency looks into
the goods and services that match the changing consumers' needs and preferences, reflecting on the
price willing to pay. Allocative efficiency is reached when there is no one made better off without
making someone else worse off. The condition required for allocative efficiency is when the value in
which consumers place on a good or service equals the cost of resources being used up in
production, total economic welfare is maximised. In the diagram to the side, at P1 and output Q1 the
market is balanced, at this point the total area of producer and consumer surplus is maximised. If
suppliers would limit the output shown on Q2 and increase the market price to P2, sellers will be
gaining more producer surplus by expanding their profit margins. By doing this there would be a
bigger loss of consumer surplus. Therefore to sum this diagram P2, Q2 is not an allocative efficient
distribution of resources for this market, whereas P1, Q1 he market stability price is considered to be
allocative efficient. There are many diverse market structures at presence. Allocative efficiency is a

19 Minutes, By Jodi Picoult
19 minutes is a book written by Jodi Picoult that describes a school shooting. This book was written
in a pretty unique way, because instead of having story told by sequential events from one
perspective, it is told from many perspectives, from different times, and in different orders. For
example, one moment you could be reading from the point of view of the shooter during the event,
and the next you're reading from the point of view of a student 6 months after. The author uses
different points of view and a non–linear timeline to tell a unique story. Jodi Picoult uses different
points in time for each chapter, but it isn't a random order. Whenever there is a change in time, it is
because it logically follows what you just read. What ends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

During the book, you get to see through the eyes of the shooter, the judge, the judge's daughter, the
shooter's parents, the shooter's lawyer, and the main detective on the case. I might even be missing a
few, but these viewpoints were the most used. This ties in well with my previous point where I said
the author used different points in time. Not only do you get to see different views, but also you get
to see each viewpoint at many different times. One chapter you could be reading about what the
judge was doing before her daughter was born, and the next chapter you could be reading about
what the lawyer and his family is going through near the end of the case. There are a few characters
and moments that I think showcase how well these viewpoints were done in this book. One of them
is the different viewpoints during the shooting. While the first time the shooting is described we
only see from the detective, later on we get to witness it again from other's eyes. This line is from
Patrick's view, "Turning a corner, Patrick slipped on blood and heard another gunshot, this one loud
enough to ring her ears." (Picoult, 22) and this line is from Josie's view, "As the gun fires, it ripper
two stripes of her skin from the base of her thumb. Her hands jerked upwards." (Picoult, 440). These
two lines are talking about the same gun shot, but Patrick's line is from the beginning of the book,
and Josie's line is from the very end. Another part of the book that I think benefited well from
different viewpoints is the relationship between Josie and her mother, Alex. The two don't have a
very deep relationship in the beginning, which is shown by Josie many times, "The last place Josie
wanted to go was out to dinner with her mother." (Picoult, 150). Josie usually tries to avoid her
mother and thinks she doesn't understand her. From Alex's view, she feels like she hasn't been a very
good mother to Josie and often is

Suffering And Redemption In Andersen's The Little Mermaid
In this essay, I will be exploring the themes of sexuality, suffering, and redemption in Andersen's:
'The Little Match Girl' 1 (1845); The Steadfast Tin Soldier' 2 (1838), and 'The Little Mermaid' 3
(1837). This will be through the analysis of: the Little Mermaid's transformation into becoming a
human, and her death; the scene where the Little Match Girl burns her matches; the Tin Soldier's
river journey and when he is destroyed in the pan along with the Paper Doll.
Within Andersen's fairy–tale 'The Little Mermaid', the aforementioned themes are presented through
the mermaid's transformation into becoming a human. For example, she sacrifices her tail despite
the warning from the Sea Witch that 'every step you take will feel like you're treading ... Show more

Unlike 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Little Match Girl', the ending to this tale is not as happy
compared to the other two texts but still provides a rather resolved symbolic ending to the tale. From
the beginning of the tale, the reader already feels empathy for the Tin Soldier since he 'stood as
firmly on one leg as the others did on two'2 (page 99), and the reader is quickly made aware of the
importance of this one tin soldier as 'he's the one who turned out to be remarkable'2 (page 99).
Although his disability is mostly ignored for the remainder of the tale, at the ending the Tin Soldier
mistakes the Paper Doll for having one leg due to the position she is in and relates to her on that
matter. Soon after the two are destroyed, Davis theorises that the ending can be read as a
'punishment for his willingness to desire somebody physically perfect and therefore unlike
himself'8. This proves that in 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier', suffering goes hand in hand with the
soldier's sexuality as the reason why he suffers is because of his eagerness to meet the doll again.
The same idea can be applied to 'The Little Mermaid' because the mermaid too experiences
suffering for her sexuality since she chose to become disabled to be with her prince. To summarise,
James studied Andersen's works and concluded that 'Andersen's extraordinary imagination created
dream–like

Personal Narrative: Kansas State Championship
I have never won a Kansas State Kids Wrestling state Championship out of my nine years of

My first match at state was my easiest. I took down my opponent named Bryce Wells from Derby
right away to get an early lead 2–0. I then was able to lock up my favorite move the cradle and
somehow I turned it into a weird move. In 2 minutes and 32 seconds I got the pin to finish my

My second match was my second easiest. I took him down my opponent named Rowdy Martin from

pinned him with a cradle.

Analysis Of The Little Matchstick Girl
The Little Matchstick Girl is a short story written by a danish author named Han Christian Andersen
about a small childs death. In this story the child is sent by her father on an extremly cold and snowy
night to sell matchsticks. Throughout the story she ends not being able to sell any any and is afraid
to go home. Anyone reading can easily immerse themselves in this story as the author gives a
descriptive narrative about the events leading up to her death. Readers should take a look at this
story and really look at the overall theme, setting, and language. This story has an over all theme of
saddness which is explained by the situations that take place during the course of the story. In the
beginning of the story the child is sent out in the cold while its snowing. She happens to be out there
with her mothers slippers which are too large for her. While walking along, a slipper is stolen by a
boy who wants it for his own selfish reasons. As the story goes on it explains that she is sent out by
her father who appears to be abusive. The story mentions how her father will land blows for not
being able to sell matchsticks to make money for the family. One can only wonder about her
parents, maybe they are physically unable to go out themselves. Is her father projecting his anger
onto her because of his own failures?. Not succeeding at it she ends up trying to go into survival

"It is logical to assume that a firm wishing to sell more goods or service will drop its price. At a
lower price, the quantity demanded by consumers will increase" (James & Keith, 2008, p. 139). On
the other hand, non–price competition is the strategy in which company uses to increase its market
share by offering such quality of goods or service, customer focus, or other sustainable competitive
benefit other than price. This strategy is such brand management, advertising, or sales promotion
(Brue & McConnell, 2002).
With the price competition, when one firm lower its price to sell more goods or service, other firms
will match the fall in price in order to remain their market share. If the firms decide to lower prices
further, a price war will be happened and it results in firms' bankruptcy (James & Keith, 2008).
"Firms will engage in non–price competition, in spite of the additional costs involved, because it is
usually more profitable than selling for a lower price, and avoids the risk of a price war" (Brue &
McConnell, 2002). This is the reason why some firms prefer to use non–price competition rather
than price competition.
Three different ways in which Airlines compete for their market share: ❖ Price leadership: This is a
type of collusion which Airline industry uses to avoid the uncertainties of competition. This is when
one firm has the greatest market share and the firms with lower market shares follow the

This opportunity will most likely never present itself in your lifetime, but moments in time can be
just as rare, just as perfect, to stay stuck inside your head for the rest of your existence. About a two

My plan was to split my parent's garage in half, and build a room for me to stay while I got back up

cannot describe how uncomfortable that wretched sofa was. So I usually spent most nights, and
waning hours of the mornings, outside in the driveway with my brother in law, Tony. We would
usually drink and reminisce about simpler times, share stories of our uneventful days, and pass out
as the sun was rising. Every night blended into the next. It was like living the same day for three
weeks. Until the driveway exploded. It was some night in early January. I don't recall which exactly,

Cheating In Professional Sports Essay
One thing about sports that everyone agrees on is that they are fun to watch. Another thing that most
agree on is that cheaters get what they deserve. However, the amount of cheating has increased
significantly in professional sports over recent years, thus making them not so fun to watch by some.
Cheating occurs through secret deals, bad trades, and use of drugs to gain a field advantage,
therefore sports that most people have grown to love have become less entertaining, and more
violent to the public. Changes need to be made to professional sports in order to restore it's former
glory.

The evening dragged by slowly, probably because all I wanted was to be stuck in my room with that

my parents caught me zoning out while they were talking, and I was met with a sigh from my mom

After what seemed like eternity, I finally made it up to my room and dragged my supply bin out

but it was not there. Puzzled, I scanned the room.
"There you are" I muttered "had to scare me, huh?"

which produces people to become ignorant by being told how to act, they stop thinking how they
live their lives. Society trust in what their phones tell them is best for them and what will make them
happy, they believe and let themselves manipulate by artificial intelligence to feel they are making
sure they are going to become happy with the decisions they make. The idea of people controlled by
technology leads to depression after some time, because makes people feel alone. In Harrison
Bergeron society tells the people how they have to look, when the author mentions And to offset his
good looks, the H–G men required that he wear at all times a red rubber ball for a nose, "keep his
eyebrows shaved off, and cover his even white teeth with black caps at snuggle–tooth random."
(Kurt Vonnegut) the previous reinforces the idea of a society manipulated and limited to look certain

The Theme Of Main Themes In Matched By Ally Condie

  • 1. The Theme Of Main Themes In Matched By Ally Condie "Our time together feels like a storm, like a wild wind and rain, like something too big to handle but too powerful to escape." (pg. 267) This quote is from an amazing Dystopian Young– Adult Fiction Novel, Matched by Ally Condie. The themes of this book are lies and deceit, courage, and choices. The main characters are Cassia Maria Reyes, Xander Thomas Carrow, Ky Markham, and Emily. The book is set in Oria Province in The Society. In Matched, at the age of 17, teenagers are matched to the person they will spend the rest of their lives with and at her Match Banquet, Cassia is Matched to her best friend, Xander. When she get her microcard with all the information about her Match, instead of seeing Xander's face on it, she sees Ky Markham's, an Aberration, a low status person. She becomes increasingly intrigued about knowing better her accidental Match and eventually, spending more time together, they un–coincidentally get matched into being partners in their hiking hours. They eventually fall in love but it is obviously forbidden by The Society, so the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ky is an Aberration (second lowest level in the social caste) because his father committed an Infraction and has to suffer the consequences like never entering the Matching Pool (which means he can never be matched). He is usually alone until Cassia starts spending time with him after she saw him on her microcard. He finds himself falling hard for her and tells her his whole story of his life and how he became an Aberration. In the end, he teaches Cassia to write cursive and tells her that he loves her. "Cassia. I know which life is my real one now, no matter what happens. It's the one with you. For some reason, knowing that even one person knows my story makes things different. Maybe it's like the poem says. Maybe this is my way of not going gentle. I love you." (pg. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Choosing A Major And An Idea Of A Career Choosing a major and an idea of a career you want to pursue, is not an easy choice. There is a lot of thinking that goes into deciding what you want to study and what you want to become in the future. Most people are not positive even once they have entered college as to what it is for sure they want to do. This MyPlan assessment was extremely informative in what my skills were and how I could use them. Going to the Career Center on February 5 really helped me to understand what my results meant and what I could take out of this assessment. We took four tests, a personality, personal interest, skills, and values test. For my personality test report, there were 4 different categories looked at to come up with a combined census of what my personality is. You were either, extroverted or introverted, sensor or intuitive, thinker or feeler, and judger or perceiver. My results showed that I was ESTJ. Which means that I am extroverted, sensor, thinker, and a judger. Extroverts basically respond very well to social gatherings and like to be around people. They are usually very talkative and tend to work well in teams. Sensors seek specific answers to specific questions. Usually they do not have a very wide imagination and are more realistic. Thinkers believe that it is important to be right and honest with themselves than it is to be liked. A thinker seeks fairness and tend to be tough–minded. Judgers appreciate organizations, punctuality, order, schedules, etc. Judgers tend to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Comparing The Hunger Games, Sheet 'AndThe Perfect Match' Dystopian novels are becoming more and more common these days, with more well known series including The Hunger Games, Divergent, Fahrenheit 451, and so many more. A commonality between all of these is the way their society is controlled by the government. Most of the time, the citizens have no control over anything because the government makes the decisions for everyone. The two short stories used in this paper are both dystopian short stories and show a lot about how modern society acts and what it could turn into. "The Perfect Match" by Hen Liu focuses on a world where everyone is connected to each other through a handy gadget named Tilly, created by Centillion Software. "Ten With a Flag" by Joseph Paul Haines is about a society where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, "Ten With a Flag" has a deep reliance on technology; however, it is used in a different way. In this story, instead of Tilly, the citizens have something called Central. Central is a little different than Tilly, though, in regards to what it is used for. Instead of Central being a personal assistant, it is the main grid that everyone is connected to. Their cars operate with Central to drive the citizens where they need to go, Central keeps track of messages, it picks out their wardrobe, and does a lot of things for the individual, much like Tilly can do in the other story. The main issue this story talks about is how the government uses Central to determine how helpful a child will be to society before it has even been born. Human Services uses Central to "predict the future based off the child's cellular past and other environmental factors" (Haines). Once the child's usefulness has been determined, they tell the parents what rank their child is in. If the child has a higher rank than the parents, the parents will receive a promotion. If the child has any abnormality Central marks it with a flag and the parents are given the option to terminate the pregnancy. However, what Human Services does not tell the parents is that their request to terminate the pregnancy is not always accepted. After all, "the flag is an option, not a right" (Haines). Maddie is now engaged to Caleb Brush and already planning her big day. The couple has shared that they want a outdoor country wedding. Caleb did it right and contacted Maddie's dad Kody Brown to get permission before popping the question. Caleb took Maddie on a ride on his ATV, stopped at a scenic outlook and then popped the question with a blue diamond ring. • 17. Characteristics Of An Oligopoly It's called an oligopoly. It's not a regular market... It's a market in which they control the prices and they've been doing it for years. Richard Miller The quote above explains the characteristics of an oligopoly in comparison to other market structures. Miller suggests the nature of the market is uncommon and that prices are rigid. The hypothesis mentioned in the introduction supports this assumption on the real estate market in Hanoi. However, it can be questioned whether the real estate market is an oligopoly. 2.1 Market structure In economics, a market structure refers to the characteristics of a market that influence the behavior of firms within an industry. These include number of firms, market power, level and forms of competition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In oligopoly, industries are dominated by a small number of large firms, though in any one industry the firms are likely to vary in size. The concentration ratios of these firms tend to be fairly high. This means that, for example, the largest four firms in the industry accounts for 70% of the market share. The implication of this is that firms in oligopoly are interdependent. The actions of one firm will directly affect the others. Each of the large firms in the industry has to try and predict the actions of the others. They may collude to avoid this. 2.2.3 High barriers to entry/exit Barriers to entry are high. Oligopolies often maintain their position of dominance in a market because other potential rivals are unable to enter the industry. The hurdles that prevent other firms from entering the industry are called barriers to entry. These barriers could include government licenses, economies of scale, patents and access to technology. In addition, many established oligopolies spend enormous sums on product differentiation and advertising, making it difficult for new firms to match such expenditures. High barriers to entry allow firms to make economic profits in the long–run. 2.2.4 Mutual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Employer 401 Case Study We often ask the question, "How does our 401(k) plan stack up?" When you are an employee, you will consider items such as the investment choices, administration fees, or loan terms. However, if you are an owner, the most important thing to think about may be how to contribute the highest amount you can under Section 415. For 2016, the defined contribution plan annual addition limit without catch–up is $53,000, and will rise to $54,000 next year. The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) subjects qualified employer plans to compliance testing. Employer 401(k) plans must pass the "actual deferral percentage" (ADP) test, and if there are employer match contributions, the "actual contribution percentage" (ACP) test. However, safe harbor plans are not subject to discrimination testing if the plan sponsor contributes a pre–approved safe harbor employer contribution. Safe harbor plans guarantee that the Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) will be able to contribute the maximum deferral amount of $18,000, but not necessarily the maximum annual addition under Code Section 415. In those cases, the triple stack match formula may be the solution, as follows: Stack One: 100% of the first 3% of deferrals, plus 50% on the next 2% of deferrals. That means that if an employee defers 5%, they will receive the maximum 4% of compensation match on the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the requirements discussed above, it is important to remember that none of the stacked matches can require a 1,000 hour of work or employment at year end. Stack One also cannot be subject to vesting, as it must be fully vested to qualify as safe harbor. Provisions for the triple stack match must be in place before the start of the plan year in which they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes For the most part, I enjoyed Nineteen Minutes. It was an extremely emotional novel about a teen boy that killed ten people in his high school. Describing the school shooting was not the book's main idea, the real purpose was to explain the events leading up to and the events after the shooting. In my opinion, Jodi Picoult started the book out beautifully when she described how long the school shooting was by relating it to basic everyday things that most people could relate to. Most of Nineteen Minutes took place after the shooting, when the community was trying to recover and rebuild trust after the horrific deed of Peter Houghton. In Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, Peter had been bullied his whole life, and he wanted revenge. Peter felt the only way to get revenge was to pull the trigger towards classmates and teachers. Nineteen Minutes takes place in a small town known as Sterling. In Sterling, everybody knows everybody. You stop at an intersection, and you know the person stopped next to you. • 45. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Matching System 3.4 Evaluation As a basis for this logical framework first–order logic can be used. For evaluation stratification can also be applied. It is a bottom–up evaluation phenomenon. For evaluating matching rules there is need to have a hold on aggregation operations. To find the best match first compute all possible matches with their matching confidence. 4 Challenges There are mainly three drawbacks of rule–based techniques: 1. They cannot utilize data instances efficiently even though they conceal ample amount of information like distribution, value format, frequency of words, and so on that would help in matching process. 2. In some cases writing matching rules is very difficult due to incomplete information while in learning based approach using appropriate learning methods such as Naïve Bayes make "probabilistic rules" which can be done easily. 3. It cannot exploit previous matching efforts to serve the current matchings. Hence, systems that uses only rule–based techniques face difficulties learning from the past, to improve over time. Due to these reasons learning approach is developed and followed. 5 Opportunities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I intend to incorporate the researched practices into my reading program. Allington addressed several critical components of instruction necessary to ensure reading interventions are delivered with the best intentions and students are responding successfully to the reading interventions. However, my "aha–moments" included the topics: the volume of reading, matching students' independent and instructional reading levels to appropriate texts, expert interventionist, matching intervention to the classroom curriculum, and group size. Volume of Reading I agree with Allington, the volume of reading is a critical component which supports the quantity of extensive reading, required to ensure struggling readers accuracy and fluency rates accelerate to develop proficient readers. Often the reading interventions focus on specific reading skills such as phonics, word recognition, fluency (speed), and etc. The research suggests the intervention time be dedicated to continuous reading versus using the majority of the time working on individual skills. Allington provided me the critical awareness and the importance of the quantity of extensive reading. I definitely will redesign my intervention time to reflect the suggested amount of time to focus on individual reading skills and extensive reading, as Allington suggested. Montgomery Vs Murray Persuasive Speech The men's French Open Final was a tale of two players: Novak Djokovic, the undisputed best player in the world, and Andy Murray, the man who rarely gets it done in big matches. In Sunday's Final, Murray came out guns blazing, winning the first set 6–3 by playing solidly and maintaining a controlled aggression. Toward the end of the first set, there was a controversial moment when the umpire overruled a call and awarded Murray a point rather than replaying it. The crowd, already overwhelmingly on Djokovic's side, really jumped on the official. Despite winning the point, Murray seemed frazzled by the incident. Djokovic got off to a hot start in the second set, while Murray seemed out of it. The match continued in that manner with Djokovic winning the second set 6–1 and the third 6–2. However, this strategy is not always the best and most intelligent one to employ. Tennis is a very unique sport that takes a lot of physical and mental strength, along with unyielding strategical discipline. In order to be a successful player you must resist the temptation of trying to rip every single ball past or through your opponent on the majority of your shots. There are less than 1% of players who can do this and still win the majority of their matches. In other words, the selection of different shots and playing styles are all like a different type of poison, each with an accompanying antidote. There are no shots in tennis that do not have an antidote. After playing tennis for even a short period of time you will begin to notice that there are not a whole lot of people who have that "classical" all court tennis game, especially at the recreational levels – everyone has their favorite shots and ... I highly encourage experimenting with newly learned shots, as there is no other way to develop shot reliability. • 73. The Process Of Matching Hospitals And Residents Problem Initial Solution The process of matching hospitals and residents was chaotic and confusing before the NRMP began to be used in 1952. The main way hospitals chose medical students was to extend an offer to the student as early as they could. The demand of the hospitals was greater than the number of students looking for residencies, prompting "considerable competition among hospitals for interns."1 This competition lead to hospitals presenting students offers earlier than others could. With offers so early, hospitals could not know the final class standings or grades of the students by the time they finished school.1 In the most extreme cases, hospitals would send offers to students two years preceding the internship.1 In 1926, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The small adjustments began in 1945; the first of which would help students by resolving "that hospitals should allow students 10 days after an offer had been made to consider whether to accept or reject it."1 In the year 1946, another change was made and students were given up to eight days to respond.1 In 1949, the AAMC proposed "that appointments should be made by telegram at 12:01 A.M., November 15, with applicants not required to accept or reject them until 12:00 noon the same day. Even this 12–hour waiting period was rejected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as too long"1. They agreed on the "Appointment of Interns" which contained that "no specified waiting period after 12:01 A.M. is obligatory"3. Even after these changes were made, it was clear that there were still problems in the matching process. "In order to avoid these problems and the costs they imposed, it was proposed, and ultimately agreed, that a more centralized matching procedure should be tried"1. Second Iteration of the Solution Ultimately, the students were unhappy with modified original system. Their decisions had to be made quickly and without the ability to consider other offers. The hospitals had to select students before the students had developed any notable skills or even knew their specialty. Named as a form of "congestion" and "market failure" by Roth in 2008, it was evident that changes in the residency matching program needed to be made. Thus, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Oligopoly : The Four Theories Of Market Structure Market structure is defined as the particular environment of a firm, the characteristics of which influence the firm's pricing and output decisions. There are four theories of market structure. These theories are: Pure competition Monopolistic competition Oligopoly Monopoly Each of these theories produce some type of consumer behavior if the firm raises the price or if it reduces the price. The theory of pure competition is a theory that is built on four assumptions: (1.)There are many sellers and many buyers, none of which is large in relation to total sales or purchases. (2.) Each firm produces and sells a homogeneous product. (3.) Buyers and sellers have all relevant information about prices, product quality, sources of supply, and so forth. (4.) Firms have easy entry and exit. A pure competitive firm is a price taker. A price taker is a seller that does not have the ability to control the price of the product it sells; it takes the price determined in the market. The pure competitive firm is a price taker because a firm is restrained from being anything but a price taker if it finds itself one among many firms where its supply is small relative to the total market supply, and it sells a homogeneous product in a an environment where buyers and sellers have all relevant information. There are several meanings of efficiency and all are linked to how well a market shares scarce resources to satisfy consumers. The two of the terms within efficiency going to illustrate are allocative efficiency and dynamic efficiency. Allocative efficiency Allocative efficiency looks into the goods and services that match the changing consumers' needs and preferences, reflecting on the price willing to pay. Allocative efficiency is reached when there is no one made better off without making someone else worse off. The condition required for allocative efficiency is when the value in which consumers place on a good or service equals the cost of resources being used up in production, total economic welfare is maximised. In the diagram to the side, at P1 and output Q1 the market is balanced, at this point the total area of producer and consumer surplus is maximised. If suppliers would limit the output shown on Q2 and increase the market price to P2, sellers will be gaining more producer surplus by expanding their profit margins. By doing this there would be a bigger loss of consumer surplus. Therefore to sum this diagram P2, Q2 is not an allocative efficient distribution of resources for this market, whereas P1, Q1 he market stability price is considered to be allocative efficient. • 89. 19 Minutes, By Jodi Picoult 19 minutes is a book written by Jodi Picoult that describes a school shooting. This book was written in a pretty unique way, because instead of having story told by sequential events from one perspective, it is told from many perspectives, from different times, and in different orders. For example, one moment you could be reading from the point of view of the shooter during the event, and the next you're reading from the point of view of a student 6 months after. The author uses different points of view and a non–linear timeline to tell a unique story. Jodi Picoult uses different points in time for each chapter, but it isn't a random order. Whenever there is a change in time, it is because it logically follows what you just read. What ends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the book, you get to see through the eyes of the shooter, the judge, the judge's daughter, the shooter's parents, the shooter's lawyer, and the main detective on the case. I might even be missing a few, but these viewpoints were the most used. This ties in well with my previous point where I said the author used different points in time. Not only do you get to see different views, but also you get to see each viewpoint at many different times. One chapter you could be reading about what the judge was doing before her daughter was born, and the next chapter you could be reading about what the lawyer and his family is going through near the end of the case. There are a few characters and moments that I think showcase how well these viewpoints were done in this book. One of them is the different viewpoints during the shooting. While the first time the shooting is described we only see from the detective, later on we get to witness it again from other's eyes. This line is from Patrick's view, "Turning a corner, Patrick slipped on blood and heard another gunshot, this one loud enough to ring her ears." (Picoult, 22) and this line is from Josie's view, "As the gun fires, it ripper two stripes of her skin from the base of her thumb. Her hands jerked upwards." (Picoult, 440). These two lines are talking about the same gun shot, but Patrick's line is from the beginning of the book, and Josie's line is from the very end. Another part of the book that I think benefited well from different viewpoints is the relationship between Josie and her mother, Alex. The two don't have a very deep relationship in the beginning, which is shown by Josie many times, "The last place Josie wanted to go was out to dinner with her mother." (Picoult, 150). Josie usually tries to avoid her mother and thinks she doesn't understand her. From Alex's view, she feels like she hasn't been a very good mother to Josie and often is ... Suffering And Redemption In Andersen's The Little Mermaid In this essay, I will be exploring the themes of sexuality, suffering, and redemption in Andersen's: 'The Little Match Girl' 1 (1845); The Steadfast Tin Soldier' 2 (1838), and 'The Little Mermaid' 3 (1837). This will be through the analysis of: the Little Mermaid's transformation into becoming a human, and her death; the scene where the Little Match Girl burns her matches; the Tin Soldier's river journey and when he is destroyed in the pan along with the Paper Doll. Within Andersen's fairy–tale 'The Little Mermaid', the aforementioned themes are presented through the mermaid's transformation into becoming a human. Unlike 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Little Match Girl', the ending to this tale is not as happy compared to the other two texts but still provides a rather resolved symbolic ending to the tale. From the beginning of the tale, the reader already feels empathy for the Tin Soldier since he 'stood as firmly on one leg as the others did on two'2 (page 99), and the reader is quickly made aware of the importance of this one tin soldier as 'he's the one who turned out to be remarkable'2 (page 99). Although his disability is mostly ignored for the remainder of the tale, at the ending the Tin Soldier mistakes the Paper Doll for having one leg due to the position she is in and relates to her on that matter. Soon after the two are destroyed, Davis theorises that the ending can be read as a 'punishment for his willingness to desire somebody physically perfect and therefore unlike himself'8. This proves that in 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier', suffering goes hand in hand with the soldier's sexuality as the reason why he suffers is because of his eagerness to meet the doll again. The same idea can be applied to 'The Little Mermaid' because the mermaid too experiences suffering for her sexuality since she chose to become disabled to be with her prince. From taking down foreign governments to negatively optimizing searches, Tilly and Centillion control the material that should and should not be "seen." Due to what Jenny has now told him, and the proof she has provided, Sai has become invested in taking down Centillion. Once Jenny and Sai call it a night, they both go to sleep. Then Miles Davis begins to play. It is Sai's daily wakeup from Tilly, however he did not turn her back on. "I thought I turned you off, Tilly, with a hardware switch" (Liu) Sai said, however he had to keep his cool so Tilly would not pick up on any inconsistencies and suspicion . He then decided to leave her in his home because he was "going out jogging" (Liu). He was really going to Jenny's apartment to tell her the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But, this year I was determined that it would change. My first match at state was my easiest. I took down my opponent named Bryce Wells from Derby right away to get an early lead 2–0. This quote represents how people must come back after they have made a mistake and how people must learn how to overcome any harrowing obstacle by changing their ways to better the outcome of their future. As I am nationally ranked fifty seventh, in the country, in Squash, I have made many mistakes in my matches that have helped me change my ways as a serious athlete. As I thought through I realized that he really isn't a hard opponent for me. He played a good game and I lost all my focus becuase I thought I had the win in my hands. My father walks in the room and tells me to, "Take this as a learning experience". I did not know what he meant until I realized all that I did wrong. I realized that I can always play well once I keep my focus throughout the whole match. This match taught me that I must always keep my focus no matter what. I beat my opponent 11–4 in the first game because I kept my focus throughout the game. The rest of the match would have been exactly like that if I simply just kept my focus. I listened to my father and took this moment as a learning experience. For the next couple of weeks, I started to change my level of focus. I played with old men who were fairly easy to play with, however, I tried to keep my focus throughout the whole match even though I could play around with these old men and still beat them. This little drill helped me overcome my nervousness and my lack of focus during important matches that I had in the future. However, in the world with a lot of competition, it is not easy for the business to survive. In this essay, we will first describe the features of the market which determine its market structure and consider what the best market structure for the International Airline industry is. Then we will move on to the term of non–price competition and the three different ways in which airlines compete for a share of the market. Lastly, we will explain why a perfect competitive firm is unlikely to make supernormal profit in the long–run by using the graph and also discuss why the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "It is logical to assume that a firm wishing to sell more goods or service will drop its price. At a lower price, the quantity demanded by consumers will increase" (James & Keith, 2008, p. 139). On the other hand, non–price competition is the strategy in which company uses to increase its market share by offering such quality of goods or service, customer focus, or other sustainable competitive benefit other than price. This strategy is such brand management, advertising, or sales promotion (Brue & McConnell, 2002). With the price competition, when one firm lower its price to sell more goods or service, other firms will match the fall in price in order to remain their market share. If the firms decide to lower prices further, a price war will be happened and it results in firms' bankruptcy (James & Keith, 2008). "Firms will engage in non–price competition, in spite of the additional costs involved, because it is usually more profitable than selling for a lower price, and avoids the risk of a price war" (Brue & McConnell, 2002). This is the reason why some firms prefer to use non–price competition rather than price competition. Three different ways in which Airlines compete for their market share: ❖ Price leadership: This is a type of collusion which Airline industry uses to avoid the uncertainties of competition. Personal Statement : ' The Place ' Blew Up The Driveway ' Brad Parker ENC 1101 Professor Randy Gordon 09/05/2015 "That One Time We Blew–up the Driveway" Around the world, millions of snowflakes fall on the ground every day, and melt on the ground instantly. Most say that there is no such thing as the perfect snowflake. But if there was such a perfectly crafted ice crystal, what are the chances it would fall on your sleeve for you to admire? This opportunity will most likely never present itself in your lifetime, but moments in time can be just as rare, just as perfect, to stay stuck inside your head for the rest of your existence. About a two years past, I had lost my job, and was in the process of moving out of my former place of residence. My plan was to split my parent's garage in half, and build a room for me to stay while I got back up on my feet. Though until the room was built, I was to lay my head on the living room couch. Words cannot describe how uncomfortable that wretched sofa was. So I usually spent most nights, and waning hours of the mornings, outside in the driveway with my brother in law, Tony. We would usually drink and reminisce about simpler times, share stories of our uneventful days, and pass out as the sun was rising. Every night blended into the next. It was like living the same day for three weeks. Until the driveway exploded. It was some night in early January. I don't recall which exactly, I just remember my fingertips absent of feeling from the chill. Tony and I were building a stack of Dos ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the amount of cheating has increased significantly in professional sports over recent years, thus making them not so fun to watch by some. Cheating occurs through secret deals, bad trades, and use of drugs to gain a field advantage, therefore sports that most people have grown to love have become less entertaining, and more violent to the public. Changes need to be made to professional sports in order to restore it's former glory. There has been a lot of athletic scandals in colleges across the country. These scandals have been as a result of the coaches and athletic directors failing to take the full force of the law and giving their players freedom to do everything even if it is against the law. One of these fatal scandals is the Baylor University Basketball scandal that occurred in 2003. This scandal involved the players and the coaches of the team. The incident left one player dead and the other imprisoned for 35 years. The team was subjected to a lot of punishment by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The NCAA is a non–profit organization comprised of 1281 institutions, organizations, individuals and conferences and that organizes the athletic programs of most of the colleges and universities in the United States and Canada (The New York Times, 2003). The evening dragged by slowly, probably because all I wanted was to be stuck in my room with that mask. I wanted to add jewels to the bare line and make retractable, blinking eyelids. Dozens of times my parents caught me zoning out while they were talking, and I was met with a sigh from my mom every time. It seems like all she does is sigh these days, how can she have any air left to keep her alive if she's always breathing out so heavily? I grinned at this thought, but quickly bent my head and disguised it as a cough before she could ask what I was thinking. After what seemed like eternity, I finally made it up to my room and dragged my supply bin out from under my bed. I reached for the mask where I remembered haphazardly tossing it onto my bed, but it was not there. Puzzled, I scanned the room. "There you are" I muttered "had to scare me, huh?"
