2. Energy Drink Test
For this experiment, I decided to use an existing
product (Buxton Water) and reimagine it as an
energy drink. I used the font Blacklisted, To make the
advert look futuristic and added the normal Buxton
logo to show what the brand/company that created it
is. I recolored the water bottles in a neon green
colour to make it look more like an energy drink and
added two splashes of the drink going into the
persons mouth. I cut out the persons hands and
turned them into a layer so that I could place the
bottles behind them so it looks as if they are holding
the product. Finally I used a bright green background
to create the extreme and energetic visual to suit the
style I was trying to create for the drink. I think that I
have used my editing skills well for this advert and
have made something that will help me when
working on an actual advert for my project. Next
time, I would make the energy drink look more
realistic splashing out of the bottles to make it look
more professional.
3. Celebrity Advert Test
For this advert I decided to use an existing drink
(Monster) to be held by the celebrity (Freddie
Mercury). Celebrity endorsements are a good way of
selling a product as it helps it get noticed by a larger
audience. Furthermore celebrities are often trusted by
their fans making it more likely that it would be
purchased by them if they are told it is good. I also
added an green background to fit the colours of the
can with dark and lighter shades. I also turned the
celebrities hand into a layer so it would look as if it is
being held by them. I used this photo of Freddie
Mercury as it uses a bold pose and brings attention to
the can. I like this experiment because I think I have
created a celebrity advert that looks good. Next time I
would cut out the celebrity better as there is still some
background showing.
4. Billboard Test
For this experiment, I tried to recreate a
billboard advert tat you would see in a
city or along a main road. I do not believe
that the quality of this experiment is as
good as the other experiments however, I
was more interested in testing the
practicality of adding an image on top of
a billboard, which did not work very well.
For my final product I will be using a
website that will automatically add my
image onto a billboard and make it look
much more realistic. I do not think that
this advert was very successful as it does
not look convincing and the advert is very
simple and unappealing.
5. Can Design Test
This was the most important
experiment for me as it will help
me work out how to add and warp
images onto a can. This is
important as I will need to make
the energy drink I am creating
look as though it could be a real
existing product. This experiment
was relatively successful as I was
able to add the images and text
onto the can and warp all of the
layers around the can. Now that I
have done this I should be able to
create a more professional looking
product for the final production. I
think that this experiment was
successful as I was able to create a
convincing can design, even if it
did not look very appealing.
