Nationalism Position Paper
It can be seen that the source that was given supports nationalism to a certain degree. They explain
all of the positive things about embracing nationalism while giving only one small negative point.
The positive points clearly prevail over the negative point which helps show the reader the author's
position on this issue. It can be seen that only self–determined countries are legitimate. The
government that runs the nation–state, achieves this self–determination by gaining and keeping the
support of its citizens. This results in the citizens coming together as a civic nation and having great
pride in their country. If this self–determined country is created from ultra–nationalistic beliefs it
will lead into a country that believes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the coup d 'état, a military General was able to get in control of the country. With his
motivational speeches and his recognition from the battles he has won, he was able to gain the trust
of the citizens and the army. From seeing what the Germans were doing the General decided to do
the same and expand Japan. This led to the invasion of China and the start of the Pacific War. It can
be noted that nationalism is not necessarily good; it can lead to major wars and the deaths of many
innocent citizens, furthermore; it can also lead to a total annihilation of a race. It can also be seen
throughout history that genocides were also caused by ultra–nationalism. In 1994 a terrible incident
has occurred and that would be the Rwanda genocide. The two groups that were involved in this are
the Tutsi and Hutu group. The Tutsi and Hutu had animosity between them and deeply desired to
kill each other. Their ultra–nationalistic views helped accumulate their anger towards each other.
This led to the Hutu's planned assassination on their president. They were able to use this as an
excuse in order to destroy the Tutsis. The Hutus blamed the Tutsis for killing their president and
went on a rampage which conducted the mass killing of the Tutsis. Also another genocide that was
created because of ultra–nationalistic views is the Armenian genocide. After the

Position Paper: Purposes
UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE OF H 101, 8 am POSITION PAPER, 11–1
You will notice you have been assigned a typed , "Position Paper". This paper serves two major
purposes in the overall learning outcomes of this Freshman/Sophomore level college course. Firstly,
it gives you an opportunity to research a bit more in depth about a specific historical situation that
occurred in Ancient Western Civilization History. The Library Professionals have been alerted of
this assignment and will be happy to assist you as you collect information on your side of the topic.
Secondly, it will help you become more authoritative and decisive in writing a clear, single, point–
of–view paper. This may be the most challenging part of the task – – ... Show more content on

The third is that of a writer: the ability to present evidence and argument in an understandable and
compelling fashion.
It is my hope that these assignments will teach you these skills. Your grades will be determined by
how well you apply these principles as well as your ability carefully to follow directions and
complete the assignments on time. Please set aside the date of NOVEMBER 16, be sure you attend
class on time (we will begin promptly). If you are late the door will be locked. Have 2 copies of the
position paper on hand (one for your partner to read and one for me to grade). In this way you can
participate and help not only yourself, but the entire class. If you are not present on the assigned day
you will lose 50% of the point value, or if you do not bring in 2 properly typed format copies of
your paper at the start of class you will lose points and must correct it. Also your fellow students
will be harmed since they will need a copy of your paper to initiate discussion. Each additional day
or fraction of a day the paper is turned in late, you will lose a grade. If this assignment is not
completed by 4 academic days it was due you will get a zero on the assignment.

Position Paper: Aggression
Physical assault and aggression is the second leading cause of death among 14 to 17 year olds, next
to vehicular accidents (Loeber). But why are humans so aggressive in the first place? There are two
sides of the debate: Nature, and Nurture. Some say that it's human nature, genetics that cause most
behaviors, while others say that we act as we learned during childhood. This argument applies to
aggression as well. Aggression is mainly caused by things during childhood and adolescence where
people learn from various sources about aggression, although, human psychology plays a slight
factor. But, what is aggression in the first place? Aggression is a behavior that causes or intends to
cause harm to others. Accidental harm does not count as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The social interaction theory is the theory that aggression is used as an adverse social influence, a
decision for a what's perceived as a more positive outcome (Tedeschi & Felson 1994). An example
of this would be blackmailing someone to get them to do something for you. These theories of
aggression are the most plausible because they account for both types of aggression, reactive and
instrumental. People learn how to act from society, and use what is believed to be the most efficient
way to achieve desired results. This can be a reaction to coerce someone into stopping an action, or
instrumental, to force one to do something. Cues from the past, such as seeing a weapon that has
been seen countless times on T.V. instead of a badminton racket, increases the aggressive reactions
from people (Anderson). The biological/nature side of the argument should not be ignored, although
it is less of a factor than the lifestyle and culture people grow up in. The fight–or–flight response is a
biological effect that happens under stress, where adrenaline is pumped up to either protect or
escape from harm. This can cause aggressive behavior if the fight response is chosen. Another
important facet is genetic/mental disabilities that can cause extreme aggression for no apparent
reason, along with genetic predisposition for extra receptors in the body that cause anti–social
behavior and moodiness, which can be a precursor

Immigration Position Paper
Immigration: A Time for Reform & Reevaluation By Ricardo Cerna Devry University /
January 2012 / English 112 Immigration reform is the old yet new revitalized hot topic being
discussed in the media which will not seem to fade away from the spot light despite its drawbacks.
The reality of that ongoing debate is that this country, and the State of California in particular, was
founded by immigrants fleeing an oppressive government, yet this same country and state now
oppress immigrants fleeing from similar situations trying to reestablish new lives within its borders.

small but, significant step for reforming an immigration system which in all reality is broken. Just
image the endless potential for this nation and California as an individual economy to grow with
such bright, talented and progressive minds. A melting pot of educated minds from all across the
board ethnic backgrounds working in conjunction to better our world due to a better understanding
of empathy for those less fortunate and in need of guidance and role models, that is what this batch
of immigrants do and can do for this nation and state. When one thinks of immigrants, lets' face it
what one envisions is the man or woman working in California restaurant kitchens, the maids in
middle class neighborhoods, baby sitters, gardeners mowing lawns. L.A mayor Antonio Villaraigoza

DISCUSSION
The objective of this study is to examine the differences between the vegan and omnivore diet and
to study the relationship of these diets to body composition, blood lipids, and the serum hormones
vitamin D and parathyroid hormone. As seen previously, those eating an omnivore diet consumed
significantly more dietary protein than those consuming a vegan diet (2; 3). The values we observed
for dietary protein in both the vegan and the omnivore groups were similar to those seen by Hadded
et al. (3) and Janelle and Barr (2). The women in our study eating an omnivore diet exceeded the
RDA for protein. In contrast to other studies of vegetarians and vegans, our ... Show more content

We found no significant difference between the two diet groups in the serum vitamin D levels. A
study of vegan women in Finland found vegans to be deficient in vitamin D intake without
supplements or adequate sunlight exposure through vacations in sunny locations (12). The vegan
women in our study had adequate serum vitamin D levels, which may be the result of 1)
incorporating enough vitamin D in their diets possibly using fortified foods and supplements; 2)
they were exposed to adequate sunlight or 3) a combination of both.
Although reviews of the vegetarian diet (5; 13) warn that deficiencies in several micronutrients are
possible, the only marginal nutrient we found in the vegan group is calcium intake. There are
several possible reasons for this difference. Vegans may be more health conscious, physically more
active, and have a greater understanding of the role of nutrition in general health. As a result, they
may also consume more supplements. Another contributing factor may be the recent increase in
commercially available foods fortified with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that may lead to
higher levels of intake when whole diets are examined. These results may be somewhat biased
compared to the general population because we studied young adult college women primarily.
Another possible confounding factor is the

DQ11 Abortion
By definition, Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy by which the fetus or embryo is removed
before it can survive outside of the uterus. As a very controversial topic in today's society, abortion
is considered by many to have two sides, pro–choice, which are the people in favor of legalizing
abortion, and pro–life, which are the people who advocate against the practice of abortion and its
legality. In 1973, the Supreme Court case, "Roe v. Wade" was a landmark decision upon the topic of
abortion. 21 year old Norma L. McCorvey (Jane Roe), was pregnant and claimed that she was raped
in order to try and rid of her incoming third child. Texas law at the time allowed abortion to be
permitted, but only in cases of rape and incest. Eventually admitting to her false accusation of rape,
Roe challenged the Texas law, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of her. The Supreme Court
ruled that women have the right to decide on if they wanted to have an abortion, but that this
decision had to be balanced against a State's interest in the regulation of abortion. But even with this
case, abortion is still heavily debated upon. Proponents of allowing abortion are Mary Anne Warren
and Judith Jarvis Thomson who are influenced from a Liberal agenda and they believe that women
have the right to choose upon their own accord. The opposing side of the argument includes John T.

I do think Lucy Donavan violated the UHD Honesty Policy because she obtained and used
unauthorized material to prepare for her Intro to Politics midterm exam and was not honest in her
glimpse of seeing the major essay topic.
Lucy obtained the midterm exam from the photocopying machine. The definition of "obtain" in the
Merriam Webster Online Dictionary means "to hold on to, or possess." In the case of Lucy she had
possession of the test when she picked it up from the photocopy machine. This fact shows that Lucy
did obtain the exam. The UHD Academic Honesty Section 2.2 labeled Academic Honesty

definition of "dishonest" from the Webster Pocket Dictionary says that dishonest means lacking
honesty, deceitful; untrustworthy. Lucy has shown a lack of being honest.
Others may argue the fact that Lucy did turn herself in which showed that she did have a little
honesty in her however, she did cheat and did not tell anyone about it until after she had did it.
Instead of saying something before she took the exam, she didn't and she had plenty of opportunities
to do so. As such as after she saw the exam, while she was walking back to her dorm, when her
manager called to check up on her and when Mr. Sander's handed her her test. I also understand that
some may also say that Lucy did not "obtain and use unauthorized material" due to the fact that she
picked the paper up by accident and that Prof. Sander's was not there to say it was unauthorized.
Some may say the paper could have been assumed to be authorized due to the fact that Professor
Sander use the same exact test that another Professor used last year in which other students had
access to anyway however, Prof. Sanders did not tell her she could look at his exam and use the
material to prepare for her test.

Americans between the ages of 18–60 with prediabetes, will the implementation of a culturally

decreased physical activity has been responsible for the increasing occurrence of type 2 diabetes

controversy the most common question asked is ¨which side do you support?¨ There are those that
argue abortion should be made more easily available for women specifically in cases that involve
unwanted childbirth, but there is the other side who argue that women should take responsibility for
their child and raise them, claiming that the preborn deaths have risen far too much in the past
couple years. Not only is abortion an important topic to talk about, but it is also something that
many don't know the true facts about. Abortion should stay legal in the United states because
women have the right to choose what happend to their body, Making abortion illegal risks illegal

The topic of abortion has always been something that people talk about and there is always new

discussed in committee?
This conference was filled with opportunities and growth. There were many challenges discussed in
Habitat III, including building resident cities while promoting risk reduction strategies, creating a
new urban agenda on adequate housing, and fostering socially inclusive solutions to housing issues.
Although I did not participate in the committee as a delegate representing one nation, but rather

It is important to consider this for next conference to continue building team spirit and making
everyones experience more comfortable and enjoyable. I am also a big fan of ice breakers. I

Given these challenges and solutions many of you proposed to address your topic in committee, did
you find that certain stakeholders, (i.e., specific countries) made it difficult to adequately address the
challenge at hand? Please explain:
From my point of view, the delegation of Brazil was very hostile and made it challenging for
informal caucus to be the collaborative effort that it should be. They seem to intimidate the other
countries and not let them speak their minds. When I would walk around to talk to each coalition
that had formed, they did not let anyone else speak on behalf of the group.

Thus, we may not know whether the findings will generalize to other people, situations, or
conceptualizations of the variables. Within particular bounds, significant findings from an
experimental study may infer a general cause, but the presence of other unmeasured variables can
limit that inference. Limitations of Survey Instruments Surveys that are distributed with time
constraints were noted by Delva, Kirby, Knapper, and Birtwhistle (2002) as problematic in that
people who struggle with real or perceived time constraints are less likely to respond to surveys
because these possible respondents feel overworked – they just do not have the time to complete the
survey. Surveys often also suffer the limitation of forcing respondents into particular response
categories, thereby limiting the range of responses. Unlike an interview, where respondents can ask
clarifying questions, respondents are usually limited to the text in the survey itself for direction
about how to complete it and where to respond. Delimitations The delimitations of a study are those
characteristics that arise from limitations in the scope of the study (defining the boundaries) and by
the conscious exclusionary and inclusionary decisions made during the development of the study

delimitations result from specific choices by the researcher. Among these are the choice of

Position Paper On Abortion
The issue of abortion continues to remain a prominent factor of which women in America are
refrained from full equality. While organizations such as Planned Parenthood work toward making
abortions legal and accessible to women everywhere, individual state governments make this
process unaccessible. The state governments are given the permission to make abortions legal by the
Supreme Court. Due to the fact that individual state governments decide, the stance on abortion is
unequal across the country.
The organization, Planned Parenthood, has an end goal in which women will be able to obtain the
support they need regarding their health (About Planned Parenthood Action Fund). Many of the
beliefs and actions put in place by Planned Parenthood coincide with that of Jewish beliefs dating
back to original Jewish law. Although there are sects of Judaism that conflict with those today that
fully support abortion, there is somewhere within each sect that allows the women to abort in a
certain situation. On the other hand, we live in a society where our government does not put
women's health as a priority in which it should be, resulting in state governments treating women
unfairly. The prominent factor holding back safe and legal abortions in the United States are
individual state governments. While Jewish law has a stance regarding abortion, the American
government does as well, making women's health a recurring issue in which Planned Parenthood
continues to fight for.

Information technology has undoubtedly become an indispensable part of our day to day lives. Both
the articles considered for analysis projects the role of IT, from being the back–bone of commerce to
handling huge volumes of data, as being highly significant in the modern world. Even though both
Nicholas Carr and Erik Brynjolfsson are in agreement to the omnipresence of IT, their perception of
the future of IT differs vastly. I am in accordance with the school of thought put forth by Nicholas
Carr which believes that the strategic value of IT has reduced. For all the inventions that had

Most of the companies invest in new technologies when the existing versions can very well serve
the purpose. Hence emphasis should be given to effectively managing and maintaining the existing
technology rather than unnecessarily investing on more technology. IT can be replicated very easily
and is subject to rapid deflation making it a bad investment. It is always better to wait rather than
rush to buy a new technology since a better version is always available before the newly purchased
one is ready to use. Also it is very difficult to turn temporary technological advantages to enduring
positioning ones. Hence more emphasis should be given in fixing the vulnerabilities rather than
investing on a soon to be outdated technology. I agree with Carr that the companies in order to
achieve a better return should manage risks and costs meticulously rather than resorting to seeking
aggressive advantage. Also we have indeed spent much more than necessary on IT that the available
technology is much advanced than what is required in the most cases.
Brynjolfsson's four paradigms for innovation, i.e., measurement, experimentation, sharing and
replication, in my opinion, put forth a best practice that can be adopted to achieve innovation. This
model can be replicated by companies to achieve a desired effect. It has in turn been discussed by
Carr that a best practice can be

By allowing prayer in schools, you would give religious students the freedom to follow their
religious beliefs during the school day. The United States was founded by those who believed in the
freedom to practice religion openly. Those who are for prayer say that prayer would help instill
moral values, something many say today's youth is lacking. In addition to teaching our children
academically, schools must also reinforce the values taught at home and in the community. It is a
strong belief that by returning prayer to school, it would lead to increased tolerance, decrease
bullying, and promote positive values. By allowing prayer, and the above listed actions, there should
be a decrease in the negativity that is happening in our schools. Overall, it is believed that the
schools will be a more positive place to be, and our youth will be more respectable citizens (All

Advocates against including prayer in school claim that those who are advocating for school prayer
are just trying to impose their own religious beliefs on others (School Prayer in America, 2011).
They often argue for the separation of Church and State (Boston, 2009). Along with having prayer
removed from school, they have also be successful in having the Ten Commandments removed from
the schools, and had any and all school parties renamed to remove any religious thought behind the
party. For example, Christmas parties have become holiday or winter parties. Advocates

MWO Position Paper
Background The Vice Chief of Staff of the Army approved the position for the 882A Mobility
Warrant Officer (MWO) in July 1997. His original vision for the MWO was to embed them in the
10 active Divisions and the two interim brigade combat teams (IBCTs) at that time. Their initial
success in these roles and increased world deployments led to a demand for these deployment
experts at every level of command. MWOs where soon assigned to the 10 divisions, 2 SBCTs, 8
transportation movement control battalions (MCB), and 2 transportation groups (Lieutenant Colonel
Peter B. Everitt, 2016). According to a recent report pulled from FMS Web, there are currently 173
authorized MWO positions in the US Army. (USAFMSA, 2016) These assignments range from the
Movement Control Battalion (MCB) level to the regional and strategic command levels. BCT
modularity and increased deployments over the past 15 years has validated the need for mobility
experts at every level of command. MWOs today typically start their career in Brigade Combat

The Effect Of New Media On The Position Paper
The Effect of New Media on the Position Paper Written in the Department of State
Introduction
The United States Department of State was founded on July 27, 1789. This institution moves
forward under its mission statement, which is "to shape and sustain a peaceful, prosperous, just, and
democratic world and foster conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American

The interaction between new media and genre theory is an ongoing process that continuously
evolves as new media steadily become more entrenched as methods of indispensable human
communication. As noted by Bawarshi and Reiff, "[a] few studies to date have focused on public
genres and their role in constructing and maintaining knowledge and disseminating information"
(151). For example, they note that "Charles Bazerman has examined how tax forms demonstrate the
interaction of information and genre, motivating citizens to produce appropriate information as they
fill out forms" (Bawarshi and Reiff 152). Charles Bazerman has also analyzed the interaction
between genre and rhetoric in the public arena in the digital age in his 2002 paper titled "Genre and
Identity: Citizenship in the Age of the Internet and the Age of Global Capitalism", where he delves
into political and social implications resulting from genre in the age of the Internet by examining
rhetorical arguments made through such venues such as the Democratic and Republican party
websites (29).
While there is a wealth of ongoing research regarding the interaction between new media and genre,
this interaction has not before been examined in the context of the position paper. This line of
inquiry is well suited to the idea of activity theory as proposed by David R. Russell and Arturo

Position Paper On Abortion
The topic of abortion has become an issue today in the U.S. They have the authority to rule on
whether laws governing abortion are Constitutional or not. The Legislative Branch is, for the most
part, in favor of legalizing abortion because the Senate and the House of Representatives all want
women and fetuses to be protected. The Executive Branch favors abortion because they feel no child
should be terminated in the late stage of a pregnancy. I will now explain how each branch played a
role in making abortion legal under the constitution. First, the judicial branch has seen that laws
blocking abortions are unconstitutional. The case Roe v Wade was the landmark case that
contributed to women being able to have abortions. The United States Supreme Court came down
with the decision of allowing a woman to terminate her pregnancy. The decision was based upon the
Fourteenth Amendment which refers to privacy rights. Also, a judge, Myron H. Thompson, has
declared the Women's Health and Safety Act unconstitutional. The Women's Health and Safety Act
was related to the doctors performing abortions. In the case Planned Parenthood Southeast v.
Strange the right to an abortion is constitutional like any other due process. However, the legislative
branch finds having an abortion unconstitutional in certain circumstances. As early as 1981, the
abortion debate shifted from the courts to Congress. This is when legislative hearings were held on

Religion Position Paper
There are several reasons why I have the religious affiliation that I do. My membership, unlike that
of so many, has very little to do with the choices my friends and family have made. My decision
was based on reason and personal experiences. While some may say that these things are both easily
influenced by parents and peers, in my case I have parents of different faith and therefore have less
direct influence from them. When I was very young I was made aware of the need to research
religion. The problem with this is that as a child my comprehension and knowledge were both very
limited. Still I knew that I needed to figure out what was right for me. The easiest place to start for
me was the Bible, since such a large number of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is First James chapter three verses eighteen and nineteen. These verses cover
some very deep doctrine which most people choose to discard, but I believe that if it's in the Bible
it's here for a reason. These verses read," For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the
unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By
which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;" In this verse they answer a very
important question, what happens to those who never have a chance to know and accept God into
their lives. In this verse it explains to us that after death Christ went a preached to others which were
dead. This gives them the opportunity to know of Him, and to either accepted or reject Him just as
we have chosen. Now if we take this information and add it to another often discarded scripture we
find something even more interesting. First Corinthians chapter fifteen verse twenty nine reads,"
Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then
baptized for the dead? "Here we learn that the Corinthians were doing some sort of baptisms for the
dead. What this means is that those who learn of God after death not only have the opportunity to
learn of him, but also to have the sacred ordinances which are necessary for salvation preformed on
their behalf. Now away from all of the factual evidence I would have

Position Paper On Abortion
Abortion is a very controversial issue in the United States today. There are usually two opinions of
people when it comes to this topic. People are either pro–life, against abortion, or pro–choice, for
abortion. Usually, Liberals tend to be pro–choice and Conservatives tend to be pro–life. In the
country today most people are pro–life and believe that abortion is morally wrong. Pro–choice
people are also very passionate about their beliefs and do a lot to ensure that there is funding for
abortions. As you can see, there is a lot of emotion that goes into what side you will be on.
However, why would you pick a side that is morally wrong, disrespects life, doesn't help the world
and kills babies. Abortion is defined as the termination of a human pregnancy, they are most often
performed in the 28 weeks of the pregnancy. It would be better to describe it as ending a human life
instead of terminating a human pregnancy however. Preborn are people who just haven't entered the
world yet, but they should have all the rights of a human. That human being is decided what it will
be and look like from the moment it is a single cell organism. Studies from The Biology of Prenatal
Development shows that when a baby is 6 ½ weeks along it has a heartbeat. It can feel and it is alive
at the time of when most abortions are taken place. Right off the bat this doesn't seem good. Most
people neglect what is actually happening in an abortion and don't think of what they're doing. No

Position Paper On Declaration Of Independence
Position Paper
The Declaration of Independence states all the reasons why the colonies considered themselves
independent from England. Thomas Jefferson didn't believe in the reasons stated in the Declaration
of Independence. He simply used ideas from others to justify it. Jefferson says "that all men are
created equal", and because of this they have certain unalienable rights. Thomas Jefferson didn't
think all men were equal. He refers to the Indians as "the merciless Indian savages, whose known
rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions." From the way in
which he describes them we can assume that he considered them inferior and uncivilized. He was
also a slave owner. A man, who did not believe that Indians and black people are men couldn't use
the idea that all men are created equal.
Jefferson says that among the unalienable rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These
rights were originally John Locke's ideas, with the exception that he believed that property was an
unalienable right. The fact that Jefferson uses the pursuit of happiness instead of property is proof
that he didn't believe in these rights. If he really believed in them he would have mentioned
property. Perhaps the reason why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Position Paper On Abortion
Abortion in today's society is a controversial issue. With detailed and complicated arguments on
both sides of this significant topic, it ultimately comes down to a person's morals and whether or not
they believe in pro–choice or pro–life. Abortion is very common. In America, 1 out of 3 women will
have an abortion in their life, but the deep emotions ignited by this matter leave it little room to
accurately and thoughtfully debate between the choices of whether abortion should be banned or
accepted. Someone who is pro–choice believe that individuals have unrestricted control over their
body, in regards to their own reproductive system. Those who claim pro–life advocate for full legal
protection of their fetus and embryo, regardless of intent or other concerns. In this specific debate,
my opinion guided me to believe in pro–life and the protection and preservation of it. I realized this
choice is completely compatible with my morals.
In my opinion, I believe abortion is similar to murder, in the form of taking a human life. The
civilized society we live in does not warrant one human being to intentionally harm or take the
innocent life of another, and given the fact that conception is the start of life in general, abortion is a
clear defiance to the generally accepted idea of the importance of human life. Mother Theresa spoke
about this concern on February 5th, 1994 at the National Payer breakfast in Washington D.C, and
spoke on the right to life, saying "But I feel that the

POSITION PAPER ON SEPARATE AIR AND SPACE FORCES 1. This position paper will defend
separating the air and space forces into different branches of the armed services. The first main point
will discuss opinions for separating the forces. The second main point will cover valid arguments
against the separation of forces. The third main point will further advocate for a separate space
force. 2. The most basic reason for establishing a separate space force is the different terrain.1 We
look to the Navy to be experts in the sea and the Army on the ground.2 We look to the Air Force as
experts in air dominance and supremacy, not space dominance or space power.3 Space is an
afterthought for most of our leaders due to their extensive flying backgrounds and lack of space
warfare knowledge, at no fault of their own.4 It is unlikely that we will see a space officer sitting in
the Chief of Staff role if the forces remain under one command due to the large role that air power
plays over space power.5 The space terrain deserves a seat at the table with land, air and sea.6 The
only way to make this happen is to establish a separate United States Space Force. ... Show more

The arguments against establishing a separate space force are becoming less relevant on a daily
basis as the demand and dependence on space capabilities grow. Many leaders view space as a
seamless domain to air, while this may hold some truth, consider the other branches also operate in
the air domain, meaning one domain does not solely belong to one branch of service.7 These shared
environments require joint coordination from all parties.8 Another common argument is the costs
associated with reorganizing efforts.9 These costs would appear steep in the beginning, however
giving the space force a separate budget and command would allow for efficiency and effectiveness
to grow over time.10 History has proven this with the separation of the Air Force from the Army Air

Perhaps no area is more volatile and carries more implications for Sudan's future than the oil rich

A Paper on Britain's Security Position
Introduction Britain's place in global politics and how this is set to change over the next decade.
This briefing paper will concentrate and focus on Britain's Security Position. Today, Britain faces a
different and more complex range of threats from a myriad of sources. These include terrorism,
cyber–attack, unconventional attacks using chemical, nuclear or biological weapons, as well as large
scale accidents or natural hazards. In this briefing paper, we will discuss what Britain's distinctive
role should be in the coming years, the future about all of these and how can the UK get prepared.
We will suggest strategies for UK security over the next decade and the role that Britain has to play
in the modern world. This will include the UK's strategic approach and the UK's commitment to
collective security via a rules–based international system and the UK's key alliances, notably and

Understandably, it can be hard for parents to make the right choices with their child in mind because
the cost of heating healthy is not cheap. Also, convenience and availability of things such as pizza

from healthcare workers in order to be knowledgeable enough to make the right decisions for
themselves and for their children. This has to begin early in life as a new mother and continue on
into childhood. The government also needs to step in with schemes to make healthy food choices

Alcoholism has been a major problem in society for a number of years. In fact, alcoholism should
be compared to a virus. This is because a person can never be completely cured from alcoholism;
they can only fight the battle, day to day, hoping not to relapse. When it comes to the etiologies, or
causes, of alcoholism, there seems to be three distinct origins of alcoholism. These causes are
genetic factors, dependency caused by brain chemical imbalances after long–term use, and social
and emotional factors.
Genetic factors play a major and very pertinent role in alcoholism. In actuality, genetic factors may
account for half of the total risk for alcoholism. Alcoholism is such a complex disorder that a single
gene is not likely to be the main culprit. However, researchers are investigating a number of
inherited traits that make some individuals more susceptible to alcoholism than others. Some of the
examples are listed below:
• One 2001 study found that the amygdala is smaller in subjects with family histories of
alcoholism, suggesting that inherited differences in brain structure may affect risk. The amygdala is
an area of the brain thought to play a role in the emotional aspects of craving, which can lead to
addiction (Asbury & Ketcham 121).

consumption may not have evolved in humans as they frequently have for protection against natural

knee after I tore my ACL. This treatment technique in the physical therapy setting is what I would
like to focus this paper on. Never being employed as a physical therapy aide or even in the
healthcare setting my experience and knowledge on the subject was minimal. The physical therapist
had my full trust and any technique he performed went on without question. One could assume ...

Therefore, if you do or do not decide to use ultrasound in your practice, there should also be
exercise and movement based treatments in the plan. Through researching this topic, I have made
some great conclusions. I believe it is paramount that additional research is conducted regarding the
effectiveness of ultrasound as treatment. If I had to choose between using or not using ultrasound in
my practice, I would not use it. I believe our profession is capable of problem–solving and
developing new techniques that will be even more effective and most importantly, evidenced–based.
I want to be known for my integrity and trustworthiness with my patients. I feel as though the 5–10
minutes it takes to treat with ultrasound could be used in a more effective way. Now, if a patient
were to specifically ask for ultrasound as a treatment, I would explain what the research states. If
they still wanted to, maybe because of previous experience, I would continue with the ultrasound
treatment. In the vast majority of cases, ultrasound is completely safe. If the patient shows
improvement from ultrasound, placebo or not, it benefits the patient. The patient is the most
important aspect of this argument, we cannot forget

For the first solution of providing tours for the Athens Farmers Market or the AFM could have a

Nationalism Position Paper

  • 1. Nationalism Position Paper It can be seen that the source that was given supports nationalism to a certain degree. They explain all of the positive things about embracing nationalism while giving only one small negative point. The positive points clearly prevail over the negative point which helps show the reader the author's position on this issue. It can be seen that only self–determined countries are legitimate. The government that runs the nation–state, achieves this self–determination by gaining and keeping the support of its citizens. This results in the citizens coming together as a civic nation and having great pride in their country. If this self–determined country is created from ultra–nationalistic beliefs it will lead into a country that believes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the coup d 'état, a military General was able to get in control of the country. With his motivational speeches and his recognition from the battles he has won, he was able to gain the trust of the citizens and the army. From seeing what the Germans were doing the General decided to do the same and expand Japan. This led to the invasion of China and the start of the Pacific War. It can be noted that nationalism is not necessarily good; it can lead to major wars and the deaths of many innocent citizens, furthermore; it can also lead to a total annihilation of a race. It can also be seen throughout history that genocides were also caused by ultra–nationalism. In 1994 a terrible incident has occurred and that would be the Rwanda genocide. The two groups that were involved in this are the Tutsi and Hutu group. The Tutsi and Hutu had animosity between them and deeply desired to kill each other. Their ultra–nationalistic views helped accumulate their anger towards each other. This led to the Hutu's planned assassination on their president. They were able to use this as an excuse in order to destroy the Tutsis. The Hutus blamed the Tutsis for killing their president and went on a rampage which conducted the mass killing of the Tutsis. Also another genocide that was created because of ultra–nationalistic views is the Armenian genocide. After the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper serves two major purposes in the overall learning outcomes of this Freshman/Sophomore level college course. Firstly, it gives you an opportunity to research a bit more in depth about a specific historical situation that occurred in Ancient Western Civilization History. The Library Professionals have been alerted of this assignment and will be happy to assist you as you collect information on your side of the topic. Secondly, it will help you become more authoritative and decisive in writing a clear, single, point– of–view paper. This may be the most challenging part of the task – – ... It is my hope that these assignments will teach you these skills. Your grades will be determined by how well you apply these principles as well as your ability carefully to follow directions and complete the assignments on time. Please set aside the date of NOVEMBER 16, be sure you attend class on time (we will begin promptly). If you are late the door will be locked. Have 2 copies of the position paper on hand (one for your partner to read and one for me to grade). In this way you can participate and help not only yourself, but the entire class. If you are not present on the assigned day you will lose 50% of the point value, or if you do not bring in 2 properly typed format copies of your paper at the start of class you will lose points and must correct it. Also your fellow students will be harmed since they will need a copy of your paper to initiate discussion. Each additional day or fraction of a day the paper is turned in late, you will lose a grade. If this assignment is not completed by 4 academic days it was due you will get a zero on the assignment. • 3. Position Paper: Aggression Physical assault and aggression is the second leading cause of death among 14 to 17 year olds, next to vehicular accidents (Loeber). But why are humans so aggressive in the first place? There are two sides of the debate: Nature, and Nurture. Some say that it's human nature, genetics that cause most behaviors, while others say that we act as we learned during childhood. This argument applies to aggression as well. Aggression is mainly caused by things during childhood and adolescence where people learn from various sources about aggression, although, human psychology plays a slight factor. But, what is aggression in the first place? Aggression is a behavior that causes or intends to cause harm to others. Accidental harm does not count as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The social interaction theory is the theory that aggression is used as an adverse social influence, a decision for a what's perceived as a more positive outcome (Tedeschi & Felson 1994). An example of this would be blackmailing someone to get them to do something for you. These theories of aggression are the most plausible because they account for both types of aggression, reactive and instrumental. People learn how to act from society, and use what is believed to be the most efficient way to achieve desired results. This can be a reaction to coerce someone into stopping an action, or instrumental, to force one to do something. Cues from the past, such as seeing a weapon that has been seen countless times on T.V. instead of a badminton racket, increases the aggressive reactions from people (Anderson). The biological/nature side of the argument should not be ignored, although it is less of a factor than the lifestyle and culture people grow up in. The fight–or–flight response is a biological effect that happens under stress, where adrenaline is pumped up to either protect or escape from harm. This can cause aggressive behavior if the fight response is chosen. Another important facet is genetic/mental disabilities that can cause extreme aggression for no apparent reason, along with genetic predisposition for extra receptors in the body that cause anti–social behavior and moodiness, which can be a precursor ... • 4. Immigration Position Paper Immigration: A Time for Reform & Reevaluation By Ricardo Cerna Devry University / January 2012 / English 112 Immigration reform is the old yet new revitalized hot topic being discussed in the media which will not seem to fade away from the spot light despite its drawbacks. The reality of that ongoing debate is that this country, and the State of California in particular, was founded by immigrants fleeing an oppressive government, yet this same country and state now oppress immigrants fleeing from similar situations trying to reestablish new lives within its borders. We cannot forget where we originated from and the foundation this great nation and state was built upon. In this age of progressive thinkers, it is time to ... If at the end of the 6–year period the individual has demonstrated good moral character, he or she could then apply for U.S. citizenship", (DREAM, n.d.,2012). Its' a small but, significant step for reforming an immigration system which in all reality is broken. Just image the endless potential for this nation and California as an individual economy to grow with such bright, talented and progressive minds. A melting pot of educated minds from all across the board ethnic backgrounds working in conjunction to better our world due to a better understanding of empathy for those less fortunate and in need of guidance and role models, that is what this batch of immigrants do and can do for this nation and state. When one thinks of immigrants, lets' face it what one envisions is the man or woman working in California restaurant kitchens, the maids in middle class neighborhoods, baby sitters, gardeners mowing lawns. L.A mayor Antonio Villaraigoza famously put it during a speech: "Today we say to America: We've come here to work: We clean toilets. We clean your hotels. We build your houses. We take care of your children. We want you to help us take care of our children as well" (Malkin,M., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Eng135 Position Paper Position Paper ENG135 Jonathan Dougherty Professor Stephen Mendonca DISCUSSION The objective of this study is to examine the differences between the vegan and omnivore diet and to study the relationship of these diets to body composition, blood lipids, and the serum hormones vitamin D and parathyroid hormone. As seen previously, those eating an omnivore diet consumed significantly more dietary protein than those consuming a vegan diet (2; 3). The values we observed for dietary protein in both the vegan and the omnivore groups were similar to those seen by Hadded et al. (3) and Janelle and Barr (2). The women in our study eating an omnivore diet exceeded the RDA for protein. In contrast to other studies of vegetarians and vegans, our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We found no significant difference between the two diet groups in the serum vitamin D levels. A study of vegan women in Finland found vegans to be deficient in vitamin D intake without supplements or adequate sunlight exposure through vacations in sunny locations (12). The vegan women in our study had adequate serum vitamin D levels, which may be the result of 1) incorporating enough vitamin D in their diets possibly using fortified foods and supplements; 2) they were exposed to adequate sunlight or 3) a combination of both. Although reviews of the vegetarian diet (5; 13) warn that deficiencies in several micronutrients are possible, the only marginal nutrient we found in the vegan group is calcium intake. There are several possible reasons for this difference. Vegans may be more health conscious, physically more active, and have a greater understanding of the role of nutrition in general health. As a result, they may also consume more supplements. Another contributing factor may be the recent increase in commercially available foods fortified with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that may lead to higher levels of intake when whole diets are examined. • 6. Position Paper On Abortion Jeankarlo Campos Professor G. Horton PHI 2635.003 December 3, 2017 DQ11 Abortion By definition, Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy by which the fetus or embryo is removed before it can survive outside of the uterus. As a very controversial topic in today's society, abortion is considered by many to have two sides, pro–choice, which are the people in favor of legalizing abortion, and pro–life, which are the people who advocate against the practice of abortion and its legality. In 1973, the Supreme Court case, "Roe v. Wade" was a landmark decision upon the topic of abortion. 21 year old Norma L. McCorvey (Jane Roe), was pregnant and claimed that she was raped in order to try and rid of her incoming third child. Texas law at the time allowed abortion to be permitted, but only in cases of rape and incest. Eventually admitting to her false accusation of rape, Roe challenged the Texas law, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of her. The Supreme Court ruled that women have the right to decide on if they wanted to have an abortion, but that this decision had to be balanced against a State's interest in the regulation of abortion. But even with this case, abortion is still heavily debated upon. Proponents of allowing abortion are Mary Anne Warren and Judith Jarvis Thomson who are influenced from a Liberal agenda and they believe that women have the right to choose upon their own accord. The opposing side of the argument includes John T. Noonan and Don Marquis, who give a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Others may argue the fact that Lucy did turn herself in which showed that she did have a little honesty in her however, she did cheat and did not tell anyone about it until after she had did it. Instead of saying something before she took the exam, she didn't and she had plenty of opportunities to do so. As such as after she saw the exam, while she was walking back to her dorm, when her manager called to check up on her and when Mr. Sander's handed her her test. When getting involved in the abortion controversy the most common question asked is ¨which side do you support?¨ There are those that argue abortion should be made more easily available for women specifically in cases that involve unwanted childbirth, but there is the other side who argue that women should take responsibility for their child and raise them, claiming that the preborn deaths have risen far too much in the past couple years. Not only is abortion an important topic to talk about, but it is also something that many don't know the true facts about. Limitations of Survey Instruments Surveys that are distributed with time constraints were noted by Delva, Kirby, Knapper, and Birtwhistle (2002) as problematic in that people who struggle with real or perceived time constraints are less likely to respond to surveys because these possible respondents feel overworked – they just do not have the time to complete the survey. Surveys often also suffer the limitation of forcing respondents into particular response categories, thereby limiting the range of responses. Unlike an interview, where respondents can ask clarifying questions, respondents are usually limited to the text in the survey itself for direction about how to complete it and where to respond. • 12. Position Paper On Abortion The issue of abortion continues to remain a prominent factor of which women in America are refrained from full equality. While organizations such as Planned Parenthood work toward making abortions legal and accessible to women everywhere, individual state governments make this process unaccessible. The state governments are given the permission to make abortions legal by the Supreme Court. Due to the fact that individual state governments decide, the stance on abortion is unequal across the country. The organization, Planned Parenthood, has an end goal in which women will be able to obtain the support they need regarding their health (About Planned Parenthood Action Fund). Many of the beliefs and actions put in place by Planned Parenthood coincide with that of Jewish beliefs dating back to original Jewish law. Although there are sects of Judaism that conflict with those today that fully support abortion, there is somewhere within each sect that allows the women to abort in a certain situation. On the other hand, we live in a society where our government does not put women's health as a priority in which it should be, resulting in state governments treating women unfairly. The prominent factor holding back safe and legal abortions in the United States are individual state governments. While Jewish law has a stance regarding abortion, the American government does as well, making women's health a recurring issue in which Planned Parenthood continues to fight for. According to ... The Legislative Branch is, for the most part, in favor of legalizing abortion because the Senate and the House of Representatives all want women and fetuses to be protected. The Executive Branch favors abortion because they feel no child should be terminated in the late stage of a pregnancy. I will now explain how each branch played a role in making abortion legal under the constitution. First, the judicial branch has seen that laws blocking abortions are unconstitutional. The case Roe v Wade was the landmark case that contributed to women being able to have abortions. The United States Supreme Court came down with the decision of allowing a woman to terminate her pregnancy. The decision was based upon the Fourteenth Amendment which refers to privacy rights. Also, a judge, Myron H. Thompson, has declared the Women's Health and Safety Act unconstitutional. The Women's Health and Safety Act was related to the doctors performing abortions. In the case Planned Parenthood Southeast v. Strange the right to an abortion is constitutional like any other due process. These verses read," For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;" In this verse they answer a very important question, what happens to those who never have a chance to know and accept God into their lives. In this verse it explains to us that after death Christ went a preached to others which were dead. This gives them the opportunity to know of Him, and to either accepted or reject Him just as we have chosen. Now if we take this information and add it to another often discarded scripture we find something even more interesting. First Corinthians chapter fifteen verse twenty nine reads," Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? "Here we learn that the Corinthians were doing some sort of baptisms for the dead. What this means is that those who learn of God after death not only have the opportunity to learn of him, but also to have the sacred ordinances which are necessary for salvation preformed on their behalf. Now away from all of the factual evidence I would have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Position Paper On Abortion Abortion is a very controversial issue in the United States today. There are usually two opinions of people when it comes to this topic. People are either pro–life, against abortion, or pro–choice, for abortion. Usually, Liberals tend to be pro–choice and Conservatives tend to be pro–life. In the country today most people are pro–life and believe that abortion is morally wrong. Pro–choice people are also very passionate about their beliefs and do a lot to ensure that there is funding for abortions. As you can see, there is a lot of emotion that goes into what side you will be on. However, why would you pick a side that is morally wrong, disrespects life, doesn't help the world and kills babies. Abortion is defined as the termination of a human pregnancy, they are most often performed in the 28 weeks of the pregnancy. It would be better to describe it as ending a human life instead of terminating a human pregnancy however. Preborn are people who just haven't entered the world yet, but they should have all the rights of a human. That human being is decided what it will be and look like from the moment it is a single cell organism. Studies from The Biology of Prenatal Development shows that when a baby is 6 ½ weeks along it has a heartbeat. It can feel and it is alive at the time of when most abortions are taken place. Right off the bat this doesn't seem good. Most people neglect what is actually happening in an abortion and don't think of what they're doing. No one can know ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Position Paper On Declaration Of Independence Position Paper The Declaration of Independence states all the reasons why the colonies considered themselves independent from England. Thomas Jefferson didn't believe in the reasons stated in the Declaration of Independence. He simply used ideas from others to justify it. Jefferson says "that all men are created equal", and because of this they have certain unalienable rights. Thomas Jefferson didn't think all men were equal. He refers to the Indians as "the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions." From the way in which he describes them we can assume that he considered them inferior and uncivilized. He was also a slave owner. A man, who did not believe that Indians and black people are men couldn't use the idea that all men are created equal. Jefferson says that among the unalienable rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These rights were originally John Locke's ideas, with the exception that he believed that property was an unalienable right. The fact that Jefferson uses the pursuit of happiness instead of property is proof that he didn't believe in these rights. If he really believed in them he would have mentioned property. Perhaps the reason why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When somebody is killed their right to life is taken away. • 29. Position Paper On Abortion Abortion in today's society is a controversial issue. With detailed and complicated arguments on both sides of this significant topic, it ultimately comes down to a person's morals and whether or not they believe in pro–choice or pro–life. Abortion is very common. In America, 1 out of 3 women will have an abortion in their life, but the deep emotions ignited by this matter leave it little room to accurately and thoughtfully debate between the choices of whether abortion should be banned or accepted. Someone who is pro–choice believe that individuals have unrestricted control over their body, in regards to their own reproductive system. Those who claim pro–life advocate for full legal protection of their fetus and embryo, regardless of intent or other concerns. In this specific debate, my opinion guided me to believe in pro–life and the protection and preservation of it. I realized this choice is completely compatible with my morals. In my opinion, I believe abortion is similar to murder, in the form of taking a human life. The civilized society we live in does not warrant one human being to intentionally harm or take the innocent life of another, and given the fact that conception is the start of life in general, abortion is a clear defiance to the generally accepted idea of the importance of human life. Mother Theresa spoke about this concern on February 5th, 1994 at the National Payer breakfast in Washington D.C, and spoke on the right to life, saying "But I feel that the ... This position paper will defend separating the air and space forces into different branches of the armed services. The first main point will discuss opinions for separating the forces. The second main point will cover valid arguments against the separation of forces. The third main point will further advocate for a separate space force. 2. The most basic reason for establishing a separate space force is the different terrain.1 We look to the Navy to be experts in the sea and the Army on the ground.2 We look to the Air Force as experts in air dominance and supremacy, not space dominance or space power.3 Space is an afterthought for most of our leaders due to their extensive flying backgrounds and lack of space warfare knowledge, at no fault of their own.4 It is unlikely that we will see a space officer sitting in the Chief of Staff role if the forces remain under one command due to the large role that air power plays over space power.5 The space terrain deserves a seat at the table with land, air and sea.6 The only way to make this happen is to establish a separate United States Space Force. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arguments against establishing a separate space force are becoming less relevant on a daily basis as the demand and dependence on space capabilities grow. Many leaders view space as a seamless domain to air, while this may hold some truth, consider the other branches also operate in the air domain, meaning one domain does not solely belong to one branch of service.7 These shared environments require joint coordination from all parties.8 Another common argument is the costs associated with reorganizing efforts.9 These costs would appear steep in the beginning, however giving the space force a separate budget and command would allow for efficiency and effectiveness to grow over time.10 History has proven this with the separation of the Air Force from the Army Air ... Also, convenience and availability of things such as pizza and McDonalds becomes luring after a busy day at work. Parents need more support and education from healthcare workers in order to be knowledgeable enough to make the right decisions for themselves and for their children. This has to begin early in life as a new mother and continue on into childhood. The government also needs to step in with schemes to make healthy food choices more affordable and more available. Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive and potentially fatal disorder which leads to physical and psychological harm, and impaired social and vocational functioning. It is characterized by tolerance, physical dependence and/or pathological organ changes, all of which are the direct/indirect consequence of the alcohol ingested (Light 5). Alcoholism, also known as "alcohol dependence," can be recognized by four obvious symptoms. The four symptoms of alcoholism are loss of control, craving, physical dependence, and tolerance. Loss of control, which is the inability of an individual to limit his or her alcohol consumption, usually occurs when a person has experienced or entered an emotional segment of his or her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alcoholism has been a major problem in society for a number of years. In fact, alcoholism should be compared to a virus. This is because a person can never be completely cured from alcoholism; they can only fight the battle, day to day, hoping not to relapse. When it comes to the etiologies, or causes, of alcoholism, there seems to be three distinct origins of alcoholism. These causes are genetic factors, dependency caused by brain chemical imbalances after long–term use, and social and emotional factors. Genetic factors play a major and very pertinent role in alcoholism. In actuality, genetic factors may account for half of the total risk for alcoholism. Alcoholism is such a complex disorder that a single gene is not likely to be the main culprit. However, researchers are investigating a number of inherited traits that make some individuals more susceptible to alcoholism than others. Some of the examples are listed below: • One 2001 study found that the amygdala is smaller in subjects with family histories of alcoholism, suggesting that inherited differences in brain structure may affect risk. The amygdala is an area of the brain thought to play a role in the emotional aspects of craving, which can lead to addiction (Asbury & Ketcham 121). • Because alcohol is not found easily in nature, genetic mechanisms to protect against excessive consumption may not have evolved in humans as they frequently have for protection against natural ...
