Symptoms And Treatment Of Cervical Spine Trauma
As a physical therapist working in an outpatient facility, majority of the patients that I
manage suffer from neck injuries sustained from motor vehicular accidents or a fall
incident. Handling patient with cervical spine injury is challenging as it is vulnerable
to further injury should it not be rehabilitated with extreme caution. It is essential that
the clinician should not rely solely on diagnostic reports and should perform
significant detailed assessments that include ligamentous stability tests with
individuals that had cervical spine trauma (Mckinnis, 2014 p. 159). It should be noted
that in any motor vehicular accident it is important to identify injurypatterns and
trauma protocols should be applied. Injuries brought about by motor vehicle
accidents are not always apparent. For instance, during evaluation there is no
evidence of any soft tissue damage or any manifestation of fractures, but one can still
end up with long term disability due to back or neck pain. With that, an exhaustive
physical examination coupled with an appropriate diagnostic procedure will give
more information about the patient s condition and guide treatment decisions. This is
truly vital because there are times reports that was initially identified as normal but
later progressed into something fatal that might bring about disability or worse death.
For this reason, it is indispensable for medical personnel to have sufficient knowledge
about radiologic findings. Therapists should be
The Four Stages Of The Four Theories Of Human
Development
There are four major theories of the Human Development. The first one being
Psychoanalytic theory. Freud and Erikson, were the ones that helped create it by
using two different theories. Freud came up with psychosexual theory which is
proposing that sexual desire is driving force behind development. There was total of
five stages from infancy, toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood and
adolescence. With these stages, it calorized them into what they are growing up.
Erikson had a total of eight stages that dealt with the mind and behavior aspect.
With these eight stages, a developments forms from infancy to all the way to late
adulthood. An example would be a girl at age of 8 saw her parents get divorced
having that event in her life made her think relationships for wont work like her
parents did. The second one is Behaviorism, the three main creators of it was J
Watson, I Povlor and B F Skinner. Behaviorism is learning and finding out methods
of patterns of how to act or apply to everyday life by learning a behavior or
consequence from wrong and right of a behavior. An example would be, A parent
and a kid going to a store. The kid is balling out crying screaming not getting a toy or
type of food they want. For that to stop you offer them a candy bar before checking
out which makes the crying stop. Doing a behavior like this will give outcome no
crying gets a kid a candy bar. Later, the bad behavior turns good because the kids are
no longer crying due reward at
The Russian Venture Capital Market
An entrepreneur looking to fund his/her startup in Russia can do so in many different
ways, including but not limited to angel investment, venture capital investment,
crowdfunding and government funding. This essay will explain how each of the
above mentioned options works and which of the options is more beneficial for
different types of startups, especially in the condition of current adverse
macroeconomic condition. It is notable that even though getting a funding through all
of this ways is possible, the one that guarantees the most stability and support is
getting funding through the government. Unfortunately, due to unstable financial
situation venture capitalfunds are not ready to invest in many businesses, and at the
same time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, very few of them had survived through the default of 1998, and in
1999 the government had passed a bill that developed a strategy for funding high risk
projects. The result of this bill was a Venture Investment Fund that formed the
structure behind the Russian start up market and started annual venture fairs, which
provided the first ever networking opportunities between the entrepreneurs and
investors in the country. The most promising sector was proven to be IT, with such
companies as Yandex (NASDAQ: YNDX), Rambler, Ozon, Mail Group (LSE:
MAIL), and others being the first recipients of these investments.
Private Equity and Venture Funds
Needless to say, that the adverse macroeconomic situation of Russia is being
reflected in the venture market. First decreases in volumes began all the way in
2013, with increased volatility on the currency market being the major driver
behind all the main key performance indicators. As noted by Sai Agnihotram, Junior
Risk Officer at a Germany based microcredit startup, Kreditech Entering 2 3
projects is very risky and way too little for diversification. With associated risks,
investors have to come in only big. This is why, many of them are hesitant to enter
the market at all. Within the first 3 quarters of 2015, the overall number of
investments decreased to 155, which is 66% of the investments done in the same
period of 2014. The
The Five Characteristics Of Japanese Culture
Japan Culture
SSG Lomberk, Michael
SLC 501 17
Culture is a specific set of morals and values that distinguish a group of individuals
from another. The five characteristics that define a culture are that culture is learned,
shared with others, based on symbols, it s integrated throughout a nation and lastly
can have dynamic. Culture is learned, we primarily see culture taught in adolescent
years through our peers, school, family, and even sometimes the media. Your
upbringing has an impact on your culture. Culture often shared, it s a social construct.
To learn a language, behavior, or even a tradition we must interact with other people,
thus making culture shared. Culture is also sometimes based on symbols. We in
America know that the flag, red, white, and blue is a symbol of the United States, this
a part of our culture. Culture is integrated, it s brought to wherever you may go in the
world, it s usually mixed with other cultures which make culture integrated. Culture is
also dynamic; your culture can always modify slightly, it can always change.
Japanese culture is a complex system of different layers of morals and values. In
Japan, they have a huge range of different morals and values that make Japan unique
in its culture. When we think of Japanese culture, Samurai warriors and sushi, come
to mind, but there s so much more about the culture than that. The capital of Japan is
Tokyo, the population of Japan is one hundred and twenty seven million.

What Was The Great Society
The Great Society was not a misguided and ill conceived but rather an attempt to
help the economic situation of the time. There were struggle for black equality,
housing discrimination, job discrimination, poverty and President Lyndon B.
Johnson had to look at how to help improve American lives and the economy. The
Great Society programs were launched in the 1964 65 to eliminate poverty and
racial injustice. As a result, the number of Americans living below the poverty line
dropped from 22.2% to 12.6% between 1963 1970 (source). This dramatic reduction
in poverty was the combination of the different acts passed by the Congress to
change the role of the federal government to benefit the lives of millions of
Americans. The two major acts passed
High School And Middle School Similarities
Hearing the words high school does not seem as a life impacting word. When hearing
that word, majority of people take it as a series of grade levels or a step closer to
college. But little do they realize, who they were in middle school is not the same
person they are in high school. Mainly because with middle schooland high school
comes many differences and similarities. For example, honor students may have the
sample amount of homework, where appearance and friends change throughout the
years.
With high school and middle school there will be differences. With appearance in
middle school it was not the main focus. Students would just go to school in order
to get well educated. The dress code the students set for themselves were a basic
non brand or off brand polo, with basic jeans and topped off with a pair of
champion sneakers that may have cost less than fifty dollars. Also, whatever the
parents choose for their children was acceptable only because it did not change
who the students were or who they hung out with. However, in high school it
makes a high difference on what people chose to wear. It basically categorizes the
group of people they hung out with because wearing a middle school inspired outfit
could have a student bullied. The reason why that could happen is because not
everyone is accepted in high school to every group of students. In high school most
of the students have the age requirements to recipients a job. Most of them do have a
job, allowing them to
Military Child Strengths
Children of military families have endured a lot in support of their parent s military
careers. Many of these children have developed the preverbal thick skin. Others
unfortunately have developed problems and issues as they grew up in the military
family environment. The strengths and weaknesses of these children are often a
source of tension for the militaryfamily, and something all that support our active
duty service members and veterans needs to be aware of. (Hall, 2008)
Children have paradoxically proven to be the many of the most resilient and the most
vulnerable of groups. The military child is not immune to this paradox. Many of
these so called military brats often have a higher sense of responsibility and even
independence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can lead to issues such as falling in with the wrong crowd and getting into
trouble with both military and civilian law enforcement. Or it could lead to them
being nice to everyone but not developing solid friendships and closing themselves
off to protect themselves from heartache. (Huebner et al, 2009) Many kids will
attempt a more shallow form of friendship and not allow them something deeper.
Many of these children sometimes grow up and fail to have healthily adult
relationships and often have romantic relationships that end in breakups and divorces.

INTRODUCTION
For decades, high inflation has always been a potential threat to the macroeconomic
stability and long term economic growth in the world. Central banks have been
modelling strategies to tackle the general price instability in an economy. Different
models have been adopted to predict general price levels, maintain a favorable
inflation rate and promote economic growth. This can be achieved by ensuring that
the economic variables are properly regulated by committed and reliable financial
institutions in a state. Getting the model and monetary policy right is crucial for the
health of an economy. Overly expansionary MP leads to high inflation, which

More Strict Gun Control In The United States
Gun control is one of those topics that people talk about when something terrible
happens, but end up forgetting why they were talking about it in a week. Whenever
there is a mass shooting in this country people and politicians alike gets outraged
and demand for additional gun control laws but in our requirement for a 24 hour
news cycle people just move onto the next big thing. In an attempt to get more
viewers the media pass from controversy to controversy without doing actual
journalistic research. I would like to break that pattern by taking an very subjective
look into why I think the United Statesshould have more strict gun control. The U.S.
has a violence problem. We claim to be the leaders of the free world, yet we have
some of the worst acts of violence committed in our county by Americans. According
to the National Institution of Justice, 467,321 people were victims of a crime
committed with a firearm... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those kinds of gun controls should be the bare minimum that the government does.
Gun control laws should go even further, restricting gun ownership only to people
who go through gun handling classes, extensive background checks, permits, and
liability insurance. It should be harder to get a gun than it is to get a driver s
licence. To get a driver s licence you have to go through a class, pass a written and
driving test, and have proof of insurance.
People who are against gun control often cite the 2nd Amendment. The claim is that
the 2nd Amendment gives them unfettered right to own guns. I disagree. The 2nd
Amendment states A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State . I interpret that as the government being able to supply guns to civilians who
promise to protect their state as a part of a militia. Now that we have a strong,
standing, voluntary military protecting us, we don t need civilians to be the ones to
fight

of the entire seminar. The questions were to analyze Tim O Brien as a Christ figure,

An Analysis of the Lincoln Electric Company Harvard Case Study by Arthur Sharplin
By: Lauren N. IngramThe Lincoln Electric Company was a legacy company from
which the families personal values were incorporated in the beginning and continue
to be the fundamental beliefs compromising the company s culture. By creating and
implementing a culture of service, respect, and loyalty, the Lincoln Electric Company
has become an institutional leader in American business standards. Lincoln s culture
cannot be summarized by a single dimension of cultural analytics because of its
multifaceted culture that is innovative, outcome oriented, people oriented, and team
oriented The founder, James F. Lincoln used his Christian upbringing as the basis for
his vision of how he defined entrepreneurial success. The customers needs are first
priority, the employee second, and the stockholders are last. Quality and cost
efficiency are the two most important factors considered in their product engineering
and manufacturing. The hierarchy is stringent, however, the culture of the company is
greatly people oriented. This company has a strong culture that is instilled in new
employees from the beginning and continuously practiced by every member of every
facet in the organizational structure. To understand the morals of the founder, one
must understand the basic fundamentals of the Christian faith. Christians believe that

Death And Its Effects On The Reality Of Death
They were afraid of dying but there were even more afraid to show it. They found
jokes to tell. They used a hard vocabulary to contain the terrible softness. Greased
they d say. Offed, lit up, zapped while zipping. It wasn t cruelty, just stage presence.
They were actors. When someone died, it wasn t quite dying, because in a curious
way, it seemed scripted, and because they had their lines mostly memorized, irony
mixed with tragedy, and because they called it by other names, as if to encyst and
destroy the reality of deathitself. pg. 19 To someone just picking up this book, this

One character is obviously the comic relief, another the beloved hero. The rest,
valiant men fighting for their country, their lives, their freedom. The scene ends
and the curtain rises, all of the pseudo soldiers take a bow and go home to their
normal lives, far from the hands of death that grasp at the men forgotten in
Vietnam, the real soldiers. They, who saw the hardships of war as more than just a
script, beyond the glamorized versions that are seen by the American eyes. They
saw the death and the tragedy, slowly becoming worn down into less of a human and
more of a desensitized killing machine because that s what war does. It permanently
scars the soldiers, tearing away the feeling of loss and inappropriately replacing it
with comedy, showing that war is destructive, stealing away an ounce of humanity
with each bullet. As seen in The Things They Carried, written by Tim O Brien, the
Vietnam War destroyed the minds of soldiers, causing them to lose their human
emotions in an unglamorous setting, devaluing death as they lose their ability to
appropriately handle situations. Center stage stands a man, young and valiant,
seemingly fearless. Well, until a bullet collides with his brain and he loses his
identity as Ted Lavender and adapts his new one as another tally of the total number
of men killed in action. But he is not actually killed. No, he is greased they d say.

If the child becomes available for adoption, foster parents may apply to adopt. The
child best interest is the primary consideration when selecting a forever family.
Whereas adoption is legal and permanent parental custody of a child along with all

of raising the child. (Center, 2017)
Difference in Services Received from Foster Care vs Adoption The licensed to be

Potential foster parents are required to complete 14 hours of Pre Service training.
This training is offered through the SC Foster Parent Association and must be
completed as part of the licensure process. This training provides potential foster
parents with information regarding the roles of foster parents and others involved in
the child welfare system; it provides information about what is required of foster
parents in order to care for foster children. (DSS, 2017). Whereas adoption services
is services by the state. South Carolina offers deferred adoption assistance. Adoptive
parents and the state must sign the adoption assistance agreement prior to adoption
finalization with a payment level of zero and eligibility for Medicaid indicated in the
agreement. The payment rate can be raised in the future to meet the changing needs
of the adopted child. (Bureau, 2017).

The Search For Happiness
As two prominent heroes of the 18th century, Benjamin Franklin and Jonathan
Edwards mastered the art of religious theology and the sciences. Although their
uprisings differed, they shared a drive for success and individual approach. Sharing
an interest in similar fields, their ideals of religion and fulfillment became very
different, which helped shape their own future endeavors. I will consider Edwards
and Franklin to be a few of the last Do it all men of the 18th century.
Jonathan Edwards was born on 1703 in East Windsor, Connecticut to a middle class
protestant family. Edwards went to school for ministry after graduating from Yale,
and unlike Benjamin Franklin, he did live up to his families expectancies and became
a well known preacher at the age of 26. In his Personal Narrative, Edwards speaks on
the inner sins that haunt him, and his newfound happiness in God s grace. He also
discusses his progress and devotion to God. At a younger age, Edwards questioned
Gods Sovereignty and his nonbelief in predestination led him to further ask how
could one man decide another mans faith? my mind had been wont to be full of
objects against the doctrine of God s sovereignty, in choosing whom He would to
eternal life and rejecting whom he pleased; leaving them eternally to perish, and be
everlasting tormented in hell (180). Edwards and Anne Bradstreet both share these

How and why does it work? Be clear and specific.
Answer: Distillation is a method for separating a liquid from a solid or from another
liquid in which the liquid is boiled off and then recondensed (Yee, n.d.,
Distilliation). It works because the substance you are looking to distill is boiled off
recondensed and separated. It can be used to purify liquids from solids or from other
liquids (Yee, n.d., Distillation).
(b) (2 pts) Describe the apparatus and setup for a distillation. Include all components.
Answer: The distillation apparatus consists of a round bottom flask connected
through an adapter to a condenser, which is connected through another adapter to a
second round bottom flask (Yee, n.d., Distillation). There is a thermometer connected
through the thermometer adapter at the top (Yee, n.d., Distillation). There is also a
vacuum adapter and a heating mantle. The heating mantle is a coil which heats
through electrical resistance (Yee, n.d., Distillation). You use cold water and make
sure that it goes in through the bottom and out through the top (Yee, n.d., Distillation).

Teach Live Experience
Going into the Teach Live session I was very excited and could not wait to
experience what it would be like to teach a real lesson. At first when hearing about
the assignment I thought to myself this was going to be hard for me to do. This is so
because I am a very shy and closed off person, my voice gets shaky when I have to
speak in front of a group, and I have never done anything such as a Teach Life lesson
before. The day of the Teach Live I was jittery and elated that whole day, I just knew
I was going to kill it. I arrived 15 minutes early and Mr. C made sure I felt very
comfortable and was ready. While sitting there preparing to teach the lesson I had
chosen, fear and nervousness swept over me and I began to worry. A few minutes
before I began the Teach Live session all the fear and negativity left my mindand
body. Then when the session began and I saw the virtual students a smile grew on my
face, sending a cooling, calm sensation through my body.
I found this experience very helpful. It gave me that final confirmation that I need in
deciding if teaching students was how I wanted to spend the rest of my life.
Teaching a lesson, learning, and gaining experience before entering an actual
classroom, I feel is what every education major should experience. I loved the Teach

mistakes, and better prepare you for your future of becoming a teacher. If you happen

St. Francois Mountains
A search for scholarly reviewed material involving the St. Francois Mountains and
Butler Hill formations returned a four notable sources. Gary Lowell and Alex
Blaxland produced one article each while J. Ronald Sides produced two articles on
the subject. However, the University of Tennessee at Martin has a limited journal
selection and the available material is that of J. Ronald Sides articles.
Literature Review
Ronald describes the mountains as a shallow composite batholith located in
southeastern Missouri (1980). This batholith, or large igneous intrusion, is tilted to
the southwest and beveled by erosion. The complex is about one and a half billion
years old and mostly comprised of silicic intrusive units and rhyolitic pyroclastic

Francois batholith and probably helped control the structural development of the
batholith itself. The Butler Hill Pluton was originally thought to be two different
units, however, Ronald points out that the contact between the two is gradational so
therefore he refers to it as one singular pluton referring to it as the Butler Hill Granite.
The granite is markedly more fine grained on the southwest side of the pluton and
exhibits quartz, orthoclase micropherthite, and minor albite, muscovite, chlorite,
hematite, and fluorite. Ronald notes that the overall texture is hypidiomorphic, partly
idiomorphic or containing some crystalline features, but locally porphyritic. To the
northeast, the pluton consists major of quartz, orthoclase, and plagioclase, with
minor chlorite, biotite, hematite, fluorite, and amphibole. The overall texture is
hypidiomorphic granular with a larger grain size than that of the opposing side. The
north easternmost rocks have rapakivi texture, or plagioclase rims around orthoclase
in a plutonic rock. The size difference between the two sides is contributed to that of
the cooling rate associated with the volcanic activity and the entrapment caused by
the roof.
Ronald sampled along three lines of traverse to compile data for chemical data.
Samples were tested at University of Kansas by X ray fluorescence and by flame
spectrophotometric methods.

What Is The Similarities Between Afghanistan And India
India has historical and civilization linkages with Afghanistan. They can be traced to
the Harappan civilization, one of the earliest urban civilizations of the world. A
number of ceramic items discovered in Afghanistan show similarity with those found
in Harapa. It is also established that Harappan towns received copper ore and azurites
from Afghanistan. It is obvious that Afghanistan has had very old links with India.
Historically and culturally India and Afghanistan close ties. Both the countries share a

Empire in India. The British feared that Afghanistan would become a staging post for
a Russian invasion of India. Sensing the attacking mode of Russia and seeing the
strategic importance of the region, in 1839, British troops captured Kandahar and
installed Shuja as the king. But Afghans successfully resisted their control and
maintained their independence. However, the British on account of their superior
position, secretary for foreign affairs of the British India, Henry Durand, arrived in
Kabul to talk to Abdur Rahman Khan. On 1893, Abdur Rahman Khan had agreed to a
new frontier, Durand line.
India had strong relations with Afghan King Zahir Shah s regime. In 1950, India and

Medieval Romance Compare And Contrast
When someone thinks of a medieval romance, that person will more than likely
think of these common characteristics: knights, quests, a lady, magic, romance,
Christianity, and of course King Arthur. There is actually much more to these
stories than just A knight goes on a quest. He meets a lady. And they all live
happily ever after. A reader needs to know what features to look out for in order to
know for sure what kind of story he is reading.
A Handbook to Literature by William Harmon and C. Hugh Holman says that a
medieval romance is a tale of adventure that contains knights, kings, or distraught
women. That person is usually motivated by either love, religion, or s/he is just
wanting an adventure. Medieval romance was first seen in ... Show more content on

Medieval romances succeeded the epic of the 12th century, which was the main
kind of story anyone ever wrote or read. There are many differences between an epic
and medieval romance story. Epics tend to tell a story about a hero and how he must
fight evil monsters, while romances tell how a knight expresses his chivalry through
one or more quests. While an epic is more serious and usually consists of everyday
life, a romance is more mysterious and usually about fantasies. Romances will
more than likely be comical and end happy, while epics are very solemn and have a
sad ending. Epics follow a straight path to the ending. The reader knows that the
hero will fight some evil villain and win. Medieval romances are not like that.
While the story does follow a slightly straight path to the end, the reader never
knows what the protagonist will face on the way. The structure is very relaxed in a
romance, while in an epic it is strict. The reader will know whether he is reading an
epic or not by the amount of romance or love that is displayed. Epics do not contain
love, and if they do, it is not much. There may be women in the story, but they are not
usually part of the actual story. That is not true of medieval romances. It would no
longer be a medieval romance if it did not contain romance throughout the story. In
epics, the characters

His work of the portraits is often associated with photographic realism movements
in which he blurred the distinction between painting and photography that had

particular details of his selected faces. Close continue to search for his own

Thanatopsis by William Cullen Bryant Essay
Thanatopsis by William Cullen Bryant
The poem, Thanatopsis, written by William Cullen Bryant, is a wonderful literary
work which explores the often controversial questions of death. William Cullen
Bryant
wrote Thanatopsis when he was seventeen years of age. Thanatopsis was written in
blank
verse. Within his well written lines Bryant attempts to show the relationship between
death s eternal questions and the ongoing cycle of nature and life. Upon concluding
the
poem many readers are able to reaffirm their faith of an afterlife, while others are left
aimlessly pondering this strange possibility. He uses strong words to describe the

By using this strange metaphor Bryant wishes to suggest his faith in an afterlife.
While examining the differences and similarities of death and sleep the reader is left
with
some very thought provoking questions. The answers to these questions reassure some
readers while confusing others. Sleep is a time of rest. It allows preparation for the
next
day or event, and by relating this definition to death Bryant gives new insight on one
s fate
after earthly existence.
When thoughts of the last bitter hour come like a blight over thy
spirit, and sad images of the stern agony, and shroud, and pall, and breathless
darkness, and the narrow house, make thee to shudder, and grow sick at heart Go
under the open sky, and list to Nature s teachings, while from all around Earth
and her waters, and the depths of air comes a still voice .
Bryant is taking what can be considered the stereotype of what death and dying feels
like
and putting it in some strong words. He continues to say, as he does in the rest of the
poem, that one s eternal resting place could never have been thought of as such a
wonderful place that one could love so much. In a way he describes it to be a huge
couch
which when you lay down upon it you just melt in and never feel like getting up, by
saying

The Federal Government Hindered Rather Than Helped

The Federal government hindered rather than helped the development of trade
union and labour rights. How far do you agree with this view of the period from
1865 to 1992? I am not deep, but I am very wide Throughout the period 1865 to
1992, the government was both a help and hindrance to the trade union movement.
Roosevelt s New Deal represented a brief turning point in the Federal government s
attitude towards labour rights, prior to which its laissez faire approach to the
economy had significantly favoured employers by granting them more power to
abuse the rights of labourers. The New Deal of 1933 was set out with the intention of
fostering better relations between the employers and the workforce, as well as
helping establish new... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further evidence of the government s support for the employers was illustrated by
Cleveland s use of Pinkerton agents to suppress the Pullman strike. The Pullman
strike illustrates the often hostile approach of governments in the early part of the
period, as the Federal government occasionally was active in their support for the
employers, to the detriment of the workers, whose strike for higher wages failed
as a result of the government. The New deal of 1933 is often regarded at the height
of the government s beneficial support for the rights of the worker. The overall aim
of the legislation was to decrease unemployment left in the wake of the Great
Depression, as well as improve the rights of those who had already found
employment in the unskilled labour force. The National Industry Recovery Act
marked a significant change in the attitude of the Governments that had gone before,
in that Roosevelt s economic plans tended to support the worker over the employer,
seeking to guarantee minimum wages, as well as the rights of trade unions to
exercise collective bargaining techniques. The real benefits of the act were limited in
that it was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, as it infringed on State s
rights. Despite this, the prospects for greater improvement in labour rights had never
been better, as there was now a President who not only

An Essay on Modernism vs. Traditionalism in The Mayor of Casterbridge
During the first half of the 19th century English society was making the difficult
transition from a pre industrial Britain to modern Victorian times. In agriculture, most
of the transition took place around 1846 with the repeal of the corn laws. This
allowed foreign grain to be imported into England for the first time. Consequently, the
entire structure and methods of agriculture in Britain were greatly altered. Much of
the action in Thomas Hardy s novel The Mayor of Casterbridge takes place during the
years surrounding 1846. These were the years in which traditionalists took their last
stand before being defeated in the name of progress. The contrasts between ... Show

Henchard himself was mentally and physically unfit for grabbing subtleties from
solid paper; he had in a modern sense received the education of Achilles, and found
penmanship a tantalizing art. (p.72, The Mayor of Casterbridge)
The conflicts between modern and traditional approaches to business are
demonstrated through the contrasting business ethics of Henchard and Farfrae.
Henchard, being an older man, is not as skilled at penmanship or mathematics and
as a result his bookkeeping skills represent an older and more traditional method of
maintaining business accounts. Farfrae, being from a younger generation
approaches business in a more modern way. He keeps the financial records as
accurate and as up to date as possible, making sure to go through old records and
correct any mistakes that Henchard had made previously. Henchard s methods of
business represent skills that are no longer in continual use. Farfrae is an example of
how the advance of technology causes the loss of traditional, and valuable skills.
In the same way, the conflict between traditional and modern approaches to business
is demonstrated through Henchard and Farfrae s contrasting perspectives on how to
manage employees. Henchard, the traditionalist, takes a stern approach when
reprimanding employees, instilling respect into his employees through fear. Henchard
punishes an employee for his tardiness. I don t want to hear it! roared Henchard.

Affluenz The All Consuming Epidemic By John De Graaf
Affluenza is defined as the need to consume and pursuit a high status in society. In
the book Affluenza: The All Consuming Epidemic by John de Graaf, David Wann,
and Thomas H. Naylor, the authors explain affluenza, and how it causes overwork,
personal stress, the erosion of family and community, high debt, and the growing
dissatisfaction for current living. A large contributor to affluenza is advertisement, a
tactic that encourages over consumption by purchasing items irrationally. The sports
industry has been taken over by advertisement, allowing corporations to take full
advantage of the satisfaction that sports entertainment brings to the fans.
The Super Bowl, an annual championship game of the National Football League
between the two best teams, one from the AFC and NFC division. This needs to be
explained because most would see the Super Bowl as a time slot for entertaining
commercials and an ad sponsored halftime show. According to Affluenza thirty
second slots during the Super Bowl have sold for much as $1.6 million each (155).
Of course this book is out dated, so the number has increased throughout the years.
The idea is still same; companies spend a fortune to buy all possible ad space. The
reason, the Super Bowl, frequently is the most watched American televised
broadcast of the year. Companies will continue to find ways to fit ads into the Super
Bowl by taking bits and pieces away from the game. Examples like the pre game,
halftime and post game shows, the
Feudalism And The Middle Ages
Feudalism In The Middle Ages
When people conjure images of the Middle Ages, people think of chaos, war, and
little improvement. In fact, much of this is true. During the Middle Ages, a system
called the Feudal System was formed to maintain order. It might have made life
tough for peasants, but it kept nobles, or upper class people, rich and in power. The
Feudal System greatly affected daily life for everyone, but, in time, it collapsed.
The constant chaos of the Middle Ages caused the Feudal System to be invented.
During this time period, kingdoms in modern day western Europe were under
constant threat from invading nations. Most kingdoms had been too large to have
just a single figure of power, so Feudalism developed. Feudalism came mostly due
to a single king s inability to protect his land by himself (King 26). Another reason
was that before the fall of the Roman Empire, an established and powerful entity,
the leaders of kingdoms had strong bonds with their people. When the Roman
Empire fell, there was no single strong power other than the Pope, and the ties
between the leaders and the people broke (Pei). Without these ties, people and their
Lords weren t as friendly as before. With no strong power in place, defenses were
needed. This is how the Feudal classes came to be, as knights swore to support their
lord militarily and their lord swore to protect them (Pei). Because of the constant
need for defenses, classes formed: kings, to rule; lords, to control villages;

option on Twitter and Facebook respectively ensures that the message is carried
through the respective reference group. Marketers identify these re tweeters since they
have the capability to influence the audience.

annexation of Crimea. A referendum that took place only days before resulted in an
82% turnout rate, with over 90% of the ballots casting in favor of Crimea s
reunification with Russia ( History: What does Crimea, 2014). Many questioned the
reasoning behind Russias sudden need to reestablish its hold on Crimea; legally a
Ukrainian territory. The Russian Ukrainian relationship dates back to the ninth to the
mid thirteenth century in the Eastern Slavic state of Kievan Rus; an area that
expanded from the Baltic to the Black Sea (Bates, 2014). The two countries have

By losing Ukraine to its independence, Russia lost thousands of armed forces and
military equipment; this coupled with the effect the separation had on Russia s trade
agreements with Europe meant that Russia was left weak, and economically
unstable. It was one of the biggest partitioned nations in the world. After the collapse
of the Soviet Union in December of 1991, Russia was left in a fragile state,
especially after getting accustomed to being treated as a world superpower; its
sphere of influence significantly declined. Russians see this as a time of economic
and political instability leaving them vulnerable to the West (Larrabee, 2010), one of
its biggest reservations being the potential for a Western stronghold along its
international border. Because of its weakened state, much of Russia s distress
towards Western policies was noticeably dismissed.
Despite having unwaveringly opposed NATO s expansion to include previously

some were detrimental. He was known for things such as the creator of the
lightning rod, the Franklin Stove, and also the Bifocals. People saw him as an
essential politician and a leading activist in the development of the Declaration of
Independence, and U.S Constitution. But Franklin sorta had a history with women,
he was known as being an icon to attract the ladies back in that time period. It all
started at a young age, and only increased over time. Benjamin Franklin s
relationships with women, his relationships with two different families, shaped
him into the person he was and created his reputation. In today s society, social

Morals of the Prince , describes the different ways of being a successful prince.
Machiavelli s purpose is to show readers how hard he life of a prince really is. He
adopts an informative tone in order to convey to his audience that princes are only
human and they will be criticized for every little thing. Machiavelli effectively
convinces his audience of what makes a good prince through the use of formal

Heinrich Himmler s Role In The Holocaust

Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, Heinrich Himmler should be the first person that

National Socialist party, or widely known as the German Nazis. Himmler was the
leader of many operations during his time in Nazi Germany, with the Final Solution
during the Holocaustbeing his most well known. Three reasons why people should

in the Final Solution s implementation, arrangement, and leadership over it makes
Himmler an important learning point during the Holocaust. The second reason why
Heinrich Himmler is important to the Holocaust is his role with the SS. The article
called Heinrich Himmler by UXL Biographies states that Hitler assigned Himmler
the special task of building the SS into an organization of carefully selected men
who would become the leaders of a new German race ( Heinrich Himmler UXL

with more immediately recognizable common ground between them than difference.
They shared the same profession and brought forth their works from the matrix of

The distinction between I and him is emphasized by Jonson s assertion of an
answer to Shakespeare s way of doing things. The quest for self knowledge has
been integral to the structures and evolution of human society throughout history.
During the early modem period, the classical maxim of nosce teipsum operated
almost universally, not only as a prompt towards, but also as a goal of, both
individual and communal achievement and actualization. At one level, Hamlet s
tribute may be taken as an adumbration of the Renaissance engagement with the
epistemological enquiries into the nature of man, and his place and function in the
cosmic chain of being. What a piece of work is a man, How noble in reason, how
infinite in faculty, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how
like an angel, in apprehension how like a god the beauty of the world, the paragon
of animals. And yet to me what is this quintessence of dust? Jonson explicitly bases
their sense of the play s similarity upon theories of comedy that imply such
affirmation. In Volpone and The Alchemist, Jonson sues irony to expose how far
short of the ideal is the world of the play, and thus celebrates the ideal indirectly. If the

Implementation Software
Introduction
Technology has been used to solve different critical problems like political, economic
and social. It has also helped in better accessibility of literature. Effort has been put to
improve new styles of management, and decision making in economic, administrative
and territorial learning spheres. Management is a commitment to performance and
achievement. While managing a project, management means positive impacts or the
ability in implementing a project efficiently, effectively and managing to sustain the
project. Implementation means translating a plan into action. Within computer
reserve system, (CRS) most projects are implemented by partners with agency
support. CRS staff manages a portfolio of linked projects of a larger program. This
program effort helps in the achievement of long strategic plans. Planning software can
be used in creating implementation plans for different organizations. Organizations
that use such software are like Desire2Learn, where they have used different learning
management systems offered by vendors. They provide different learning
environments, where a person does not have to learn around the institution. They
provide customized learning utilities that are used to enhance education
environments. Different software can be used in implementation programs like DPET.
Planning and evaluation After taking preliminary steps evaluation and planning
processes can be carried out.
Aesop s Immortal Fable
Aesop s Immortal Fable A wise person once said, Literature is a reflection of life.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the seemingly simple fables penned by the
immortal Aesop centuries and centuries ago. One fable has particular relevance in
my own life: The Father and His Sons. The moral of this tale has direct application
to an episode from my own existence. In Aesop s fable, there is a father and his
sons who continue to quarrel endlessly regardless of their father s efforts to end it.
This bickering is so bad that it breaks the bonds of brotherhood between the father s
sons and reduces their ability to overcome challenges in life. To end his sons
bickering, the father brings a bundle of sticks to his sons, when they are unable to
break the bundle, he unties it, and they quickly discover how easily each
individual stick is broken. Seeing this, the father explains that together, they are a
bundle, tough and hard to break, but apart, they are lone sticks, snapped by the
force of one man. The moral of the story is that there is strength in unity and that
bickering and going alone breeds weakness. An example in my own life reflecting
the Aesop s fable would be a time when I was playing on a high school baseball
team. Our coach tried to teach me and others why we needed to play as a team to
win a championship instead of playing defensively alone. We practiced drills and
team work for several afternoons leading up to the first scrimmage. The first... Show

Protagonist In Hamlet Essay
In every tale, story, novel, or play, there are different types of characters. In the play
Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the character Claudius is seen as an
antagonist. An antagonist is always the negative character. Antagonists are known to
always go against the protagonist, in this case it is Hamlet. In the beginning of
Hamlet, the character Claudius is known as the man who took over the role as king
to Denmark after his brother, King Hamlet, had died. King Hamlet was also Hamlet
s father and soon after his death, Claudius was quick to marry his own sister in law,
Gertrude. When getting more into the play, the audience learns the truth behind
King Hamlet s death. Claudius had poisoned and murdered his own brother.
Claudius was very manipulating. For example, throughout act 4, most of Claudius
s motives were to manipulate the people of Denmark in order to get what he
wanted for himself. In act 4 scene 3 he manipulates the people of denmark in order
to send Hamlet away because of his crimes. He wants them to believe that he is
sending Hamlet away for the better, but in reality he is trying to get what he wants
and send Hamlet away to get killed. In act 4 scene 5 his main motive at this point is
to get rid of Hamlet no matter the circumstances. Claudius teams up... Show more

primal eldest curse upon t, A brother s murder! (III, iii, 39 41). Although he is
guilty his greed is quick to take over. When Claudius realized that Hamlet knew he
killed his father, immediately he wanted to get rid of Hamlet. Was it because
Claudius did not want his secret to come out or was it because he wanted to get rid
of the one thing that makes him feel guilty for what he has
Compare And Contrast Atheism And Colombia
Three words that describe my culture are atheism, male, and colombian. To expand
on my statement I would like to begin with the first word which is atheism, which
is the disbelief or rather lack of belief in a god or gods. I do not believe on a god
because I think there is a lack of evidence and I am also very skeptical about
various things until proven wrong. In addition, the next word that I mentioned
was male; I identify myself as a male because that is my gender. Considering I was
born as male and do not plan to change this feature I chose it as it does define me in
a sense. At last, I chose the word Colombian because I was born in Colombia and
spent the biggest part of my life there. However, after taking some time to determine
just how much the country changed me I decided to mention the fact that I am such
and outgoing and outspoken person thanks to being from here, wherever you are in
colombia people are always welcoming and easy going.... Show more content on

Indeed, I chose what to wear most of the time or what is proper, however thanks to
a bit of thought I realized that the fundamentals of how to dress were implemented
in me by my parents. Besides this, my family has influenced my fundamentals by
implying one of the most important manners which I have learned which is to
respect people s mentality. Likewise, I have learned my eating habits from my
community, since after seeing the way a lot of people are obese in the usa I decided
to start eating healthy as opposed to when I used to eat

  • 2. Symptoms And Treatment Of Cervical Spine Trauma As a physical therapist working in an outpatient facility, majority of the patients that I manage suffer from neck injuries sustained from motor vehicular accidents or a fall incident. Handling patient with cervical spine injury is challenging as it is vulnerable to further injury should it not be rehabilitated with extreme caution. It is essential that the clinician should not rely solely on diagnostic reports and should perform significant detailed assessments that include ligamentous stability tests with individuals that had cervical spine trauma (Mckinnis, 2014 p. 159). It should be noted that in any motor vehicular accident it is important to identify injurypatterns and trauma protocols should be applied. Injuries brought about by motor vehicle accidents are not always apparent. For instance, during evaluation there is no evidence of any soft tissue damage or any manifestation of fractures, but one can still end up with long term disability due to back or neck pain. With that, an exhaustive physical examination coupled with an appropriate diagnostic procedure will give more information about the patient s condition and guide treatment decisions. This is truly vital because there are times reports that was initially identified as normal but later progressed into something fatal that might bring about disability or worse death. For this reason, it is indispensable for medical personnel to have sufficient knowledge about radiologic findings. Therapists should be
  • 3. The Four Stages Of The Four Theories Of Human Development There are four major theories of the Human Development. The first one being Psychoanalytic theory. Freud and Erikson, were the ones that helped create it by using two different theories. Freud came up with psychosexual theory which is proposing that sexual desire is driving force behind development. There was total of five stages from infancy, toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence. With these stages, it calorized them into what they are growing up. Erikson had a total of eight stages that dealt with the mind and behavior aspect. With these eight stages, a developments forms from infancy to all the way to late adulthood. An example would be a girl at age of 8 saw her parents get divorced having that event in her life made her think relationships for wont work like her parents did. The second one is Behaviorism, the three main creators of it was J Watson, I Povlor and B F Skinner. Behaviorism is learning and finding out methods of patterns of how to act or apply to everyday life by learning a behavior or consequence from wrong and right of a behavior. An example would be, A parent and a kid going to a store. The kid is balling out crying screaming not getting a toy or type of food they want. For that to stop you offer them a candy bar before checking out which makes the crying stop. Doing a behavior like this will give outcome no crying gets a kid a candy bar. Later, the bad behavior turns good because the kids are no longer crying due reward at

The result of this bill was a Venture Investment Fund that formed the structure behind the Russian start up market and started annual venture fairs, which provided the first ever networking opportunities between the entrepreneurs and investors in the country. The most promising sector was proven to be IT, with such companies as Yandex (NASDAQ: YNDX), Rambler, Ozon, Mail Group (LSE: MAIL), and others being the first recipients of these investments. Private Equity and Venture Funds Needless to say, that the adverse macroeconomic situation of Russia is being reflected in the venture market. First decreases in volumes began all the way in 2013, with increased volatility on the currency market being the major driver behind all the main key performance indicators. • 5. The Five Characteristics Of Japanese Culture Japan Culture SSG Lomberk, Michael SLC 501 17 Culture is a specific set of morals and values that distinguish a group of individuals from another. The five characteristics that define a culture are that culture is learned, shared with others, based on symbols, it s integrated throughout a nation and lastly can have dynamic. Culture is learned, we primarily see culture taught in adolescent years through our peers, school, family, and even sometimes the media. Your upbringing has an impact on your culture. Culture often shared, it s a social construct. To learn a language, behavior, or even a tradition we must interact with other people, thus making culture shared. Culture is also sometimes based on symbols. We in America know that the flag, red, white, and blue is a symbol of the United States, this a part of our culture. Culture is integrated, it s brought to wherever you may go in the world, it s usually mixed with other cultures which make culture integrated. Culture is also dynamic; your culture can always modify slightly, it can always change. Japanese culture is a complex system of different layers of morals and values. In Japan, they have a huge range of different morals and values that make Japan unique in its culture. There were struggle for black equality, housing discrimination, job discrimination, poverty and President Lyndon B. Johnson had to look at how to help improve American lives and the economy. The Great Society programs were launched in the 1964 65 to eliminate poverty and racial injustice. As a result, the number of Americans living below the poverty line dropped from 22.2% to 12.6% between 1963 1970 (source). • 7. High School And Middle School Similarities Hearing the words high school does not seem as a life impacting word. When hearing that word, majority of people take it as a series of grade levels or a step closer to college. But little do they realize, who they were in middle school is not the same person they are in high school. Mainly because with middle schooland high school comes many differences and similarities. For example, honor students may have the sample amount of homework, where appearance and friends change throughout the years. With high school and middle school there will be differences. With appearance in middle school it was not the main focus. Students would just go to school in order to get well educated. The dress code the students set for themselves were a basic non brand or off brand polo, with basic jeans and topped off with a pair of champion sneakers that may have cost less than fifty dollars. Also, whatever the parents choose for their children was acceptable only because it did not change who the students were or who they hung out with. However, in high school it makes a high difference on what people chose to wear. It basically categorizes the group of people they hung out with because wearing a middle school inspired outfit could have a student bullied. The reason why that could happen is because not everyone is accepted in high school to every group of students. In high school most of the students have the age requirements to recipients a job. Most of them do have a job, allowing them to

Central banks have been modelling strategies to tackle the general price instability in an economy. I also wanted to get you these notes sooner rather than later, so apologies for the short hand for most of them. As always, please take the below as just considerations while you work on the script. For the most part, I thought all of your suggestions for fixes were spot on , so I m excited to read what you come up with. xx OLIVER Lets be sure we re consistent with our characterization of Oliver. • 11. More Strict Gun Control In The United States Gun control is one of those topics that people talk about when something terrible happens, but end up forgetting why they were talking about it in a week. Whenever there is a mass shooting in this country people and politicians alike gets outraged and demand for additional gun control laws but in our requirement for a 24 hour news cycle people just move onto the next big thing. In an attempt to get more viewers the media pass from controversy to controversy without doing actual journalistic research. I would like to break that pattern by taking an very subjective look into why I think the United Statesshould have more strict gun control. The U.S. has a violence problem. We claim to be the leaders of the free world, yet we have some of the worst acts of violence committed in our county by Americans. According to the National Institution of Justice, 467,321 people were victims of a crime committed with a firearm... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those kinds of gun controls should be the bare minimum that the government does. Gun control laws should go even further, restricting gun ownership only to people who go through gun handling classes, extensive background checks, permits, and liability insurance. It should be harder to get a gun than it is to get a driver s licence. To get a driver s licence you have to go through a class, pass a written and driving test, and have proof of insurance. People who are against gun control often cite the 2nd Amendment. The claim is that the 2nd Amendment gives them unfettered right to own guns. I disagree. The 2nd Amendment states A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State . I interpret that as the government being able to supply guns to civilians who promise to protect their state as a part of a militia. Now that we have a strong, standing, voluntary military protecting us, we don t need civilians to be the ones to fight

IngramThe Lincoln Electric Company was a legacy company from which the families personal values were incorporated in the beginning and continue to be the fundamental beliefs compromising the company s culture. By creating and implementing a culture of service, respect, and loyalty, the Lincoln Electric Company has become an institutional leader in American business standards. Lincoln s culture cannot be summarized by a single dimension of cultural analytics because of its multifaceted culture that is innovative, outcome oriented, people oriented, and team oriented The founder, James F. Lincoln used his Christian upbringing as the basis for his vision of how he defined entrepreneurial success. The customers needs are first priority, the employee second, and the stockholders are last. Quality and cost efficiency are the two most important factors considered in their product engineering and manufacturing. The scene ends and the curtain rises, all of the pseudo soldiers take a bow and go home to their normal lives, far from the hands of death that grasp at the men forgotten in Vietnam, the real soldiers. They, who saw the hardships of war as more than just a script, beyond the glamorized versions that are seen by the American eyes. They saw the death and the tragedy, slowly becoming worn down into less of a human and more of a desensitized killing machine because that s what war does. It permanently scars the soldiers, tearing away the feeling of loss and inappropriately replacing it with comedy, showing that war is destructive, stealing away an ounce of humanity with each bullet. As seen in The Things They Carried, written by Tim O Brien, the Vietnam War destroyed the minds of soldiers, causing them to lose their human emotions in an unglamorous setting, devaluing death as they lose their ability to appropriately handle situations. Oscar Chavez Professor Hellenbrand English 473 15 October 2015 The Search For Happiness As two prominent heroes of the 18th century, Benjamin Franklin and Jonathan Edwards mastered the art of religious theology and the sciences. Although their uprisings differed, they shared a drive for success and individual approach. Sharing an interest in similar fields, their ideals of religion and fulfillment became very different, which helped shape their own future endeavors. I will consider Edwards and Franklin to be a few of the last Do it all men of the 18th century. Jonathan Edwards was born on 1703 in East Windsor, Connecticut to a middle class protestant family. Edwards went to school for ministry after graduating from Yale, and unlike Benjamin Franklin, he did live up to his families expectancies and became a well known preacher at the age of 26. In his Personal Narrative, Edwards speaks on the inner sins that haunt him, and his newfound happiness in God s grace. He also discusses his progress and devotion to God. At a younger age, Edwards questioned Gods Sovereignty and his nonbelief in predestination led him to further ask how could one man decide another mans faith? my mind had been wont to be full of objects against the doctrine of God s sovereignty, in choosing whom He would to eternal life and rejecting whom he pleased; leaving them eternally to perish, and be everlasting tormented in hell (180). The Butler Hill Pluton was originally thought to be two different units, however, Ronald points out that the contact between the two is gradational so therefore he refers to it as one singular pluton referring to it as the Butler Hill Granite. The granite is markedly more fine grained on the southwest side of the pluton and exhibits quartz, orthoclase micropherthite, and minor albite, muscovite, chlorite, hematite, and fluorite. Ronald notes that the overall texture is hypidiomorphic, partly idiomorphic or containing some crystalline features, but locally porphyritic. To the northeast, the pluton consists major of quartz, orthoclase, and plagioclase, with minor chlorite, biotite, hematite, fluorite, and amphibole. The overall texture is hypidiomorphic granular with a larger grain size than that of the opposing side. The north easternmost rocks have rapakivi texture, or plagioclase rims around orthoclase in a plutonic rock. The size difference between the two sides is contributed to that of the cooling rate associated with the volcanic activity and the entrapment caused by the roof. Ronald sampled along three lines of traverse to compile data for chemical data. Samples were tested at University of Kansas by X ray fluorescence and by flame spectrophotometric methods.

Medieval romances succeeded the epic of the 12th century, which was the main kind of story anyone ever wrote or read. There are many differences between an epic and medieval romance story. Epics tend to tell a story about a hero and how he must fight evil monsters, while romances tell how a knight expresses his chivalry through one or more quests. While an epic is more serious and usually consists of everyday life, a romance is more mysterious and usually about fantasies. Romances will more than likely be comical and end happy, while epics are very solemn and have a sad ending. Epics follow a straight path to the ending. The reader knows that the hero will fight some evil villain and win. Medieval romances are not like that. While the story does follow a slightly straight path to the end, the reader never knows what the protagonist will face on the way. The structure is very relaxed in a romance, while in an epic it is strict. The reader will know whether he is reading an epic or not by the amount of romance or love that is displayed. Epics do not contain love, and if they do, it is not much. There may be women in the story, but they are not usually part of the actual story. That is not true of medieval romances. It would no longer be a medieval romance if it did not contain romance throughout the story. In epics, the characters

I am not deep, but I am very wide Throughout the period 1865 to 1992, the government was both a help and hindrance to the trade union movement. Roosevelt s New Deal represented a brief turning point in the Federal government s attitude towards labour rights, prior to which its laissez faire approach to the economy had significantly favoured employers by granting them more power to abuse the rights of labourers. Further evidence of the government s support for the employers was illustrated by Cleveland s use of Pinkerton agents to suppress the Pullman strike. The Pullman strike illustrates the often hostile approach of governments in the early part of the period, as the Federal government occasionally was active in their support for the employers, to the detriment of the workers, whose strike for higher wages failed as a result of the government. The New deal of 1933 is often regarded at the height of the government s beneficial support for the rights of the worker. The overall aim of the legislation was to decrease unemployment left in the wake of the Great Depression, as well as improve the rights of those who had already found employment in the unskilled labour force. The National Industry Recovery Act marked a significant change in the attitude of the Governments that had gone before, in that Roosevelt s economic plans tended to support the worker over the employer, seeking to guarantee minimum wages, as well as the rights of trade unions to exercise collective bargaining techniques. The real benefits of the act were limited in that it was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, as it infringed on State s rights. Despite this, the prospects for greater improvement in labour rights had never been better, as there was now a President who not only

Henchard, being an older man, is not as skilled at penmanship or mathematics and as a result his bookkeeping skills represent an older and more traditional method of maintaining business accounts. A large contributor to affluenza is advertisement, a tactic that encourages over consumption by purchasing items irrationally. The sports industry has been taken over by advertisement, allowing corporations to take full advantage of the satisfaction that sports entertainment brings to the fans.   • 30. Feudalism And The Middle Ages Feudalism In The Middle Ages When people conjure images of the Middle Ages, people think of chaos, war, and little improvement. In fact, much of this is true. During the Middle Ages, a system called the Feudal System was formed to maintain order. It might have made life tough for peasants, but it kept nobles, or upper class people, rich and in power. The Feudal System greatly affected daily life for everyone, but, in time, it collapsed. The constant chaos of the Middle Ages caused the Feudal System to be invented. During this time period, kingdoms in modern day western Europe were under constant threat from invading nations. Most kingdoms had been too large to have just a single figure of power, so Feudalism developed. Feudalism came mostly due to a single king s inability to protect his land by himself (King 26). Another reason was that before the fall of the Roman Empire, an established and powerful entity, the leaders of kingdoms had strong bonds with their people. When the Roman Empire fell, there was no single strong power other than the Pope, and the ties between the leaders and the people broke (Pei). Without these ties, people and their Lords weren t as friendly as before. With no strong power in place, defenses were needed. This is how the Feudal classes came to be, as knights swore to support their lord militarily and their lord swore to protect them (Pei). Because of the constant need for defenses, classes formed: kings, to rule; lords, to control villages;

Machiavelli s purpose is to show readers how hard he life of a prince really is. He adopts an informative tone in order to convey to his audience that princes are only human and they will be criticized for every little thing. Machiavelli effectively convinces his audience of what makes a good prince through the use of formal diction, appealing to ethos, and appealing to logos. The diction Machiavelli uses creates imagery in the minds of his audience. Thus some are considered generous, others stingy; some are givers, others grabbers; some cruel, others merciful... • 39. Compare and contrast Ben Jonson’s †The Alchemist’ and... The study will encompass the compare and contrast of two great writers literary works. It will take comprehensive discussion on Ben Jonson s The Alchemist and William Shakespeare s The Tempest . Jonson and Shakespeare were contemporaries with more immediately recognizable common ground between them than difference. They shared the same profession and brought forth their works from the matrix of common intellectual property. They appealed to the same audience and both gained popularity and esteem as accomplished playwrights. At the more social level, they were both struggling artists conscious of the need for patronage and support from their wealthier and more powerful peers. Both Jonson and Shakespeare experienced the trials and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The distinction between I and him is emphasized by Jonson s assertion of an answer to Shakespeare s way of doing things. The quest for self knowledge has been integral to the structures and evolution of human society throughout history. During the early modem period, the classical maxim of nosce teipsum operated almost universally, not only as a prompt towards, but also as a goal of, both individual and communal achievement and actualization. At one level, Hamlet s tribute may be taken as an adumbration of the Renaissance engagement with the epistemological enquiries into the nature of man, and his place and function in the cosmic chain of being. What a piece of work is a man, How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals. And yet to me what is this quintessence of dust? Jonson explicitly bases their sense of the play s similarity upon theories of comedy that imply such affirmation. In Volpone and The Alchemist, Jonson sues irony to expose how far short of the ideal is the world of the play, and thus celebrates the ideal indirectly. If the
  • 40. Software Used in Implementation Programs Implementation Software Implementation Software Introduction Technology has been used to solve different critical problems like political, economic and social. It has also helped in better accessibility of literature. Effort has been put to improve new styles of management, and decision making in economic, administrative and territorial learning spheres. Management is a commitment to performance and achievement. CRS staff manages a portfolio of linked projects of a larger program. This program effort helps in the achievement of long strategic plans. Planning software can be used in creating implementation plans for different organizations. Organizations that use such software are like Desire2Learn, where they have used different learning management systems offered by vendors. They provide different learning environments, where a person does not have to learn around the institution. They provide customized learning utilities that are used to enhance education environments. Different software can be used in implementation programs like DPET. Planning and evaluation After taking preliminary steps evaluation and planning processes can be carried out.
  • 41. Aesop s Immortal Fable Aesop s Immortal Fable A wise person once said, Literature is a reflection of life. Nowhere is this more evident than in the seemingly simple fables penned by the immortal Aesop centuries and centuries ago. One fable has particular relevance in my own life: The Father and His Sons. The moral of this tale has direct application to an episode from my own existence. In Aesop s fable, there is a father and his sons who continue to quarrel endlessly regardless of their father s efforts to end it. This bickering is so bad that it breaks the bonds of brotherhood between the father s sons and reduces their ability to overcome challenges in life. To end his sons bickering, the father brings a bundle of sticks to his sons, when they are unable to break the bundle, he unties it, and they quickly discover how easily each individual stick is broken. Seeing this, the father explains that together, they are a bundle, tough and hard to break, but apart, they are lone sticks, snapped by the force of one man. The moral of the story is that there is strength in unity and that bickering and going alone breeds weakness. An example in my own life reflecting the Aesop s fable would be a time when I was playing on a high school baseball team. Our coach tried to teach me and others why we needed to play as a team to win a championship instead of playing defensively alone. We practiced drills and team work for several afternoons leading up to the first scrimmage. The first... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 42. Protagonist In Hamlet Essay In every tale, story, novel, or play, there are different types of characters. In the play Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the character Claudius is seen as an antagonist. An antagonist is always the negative character. Antagonists are known to always go against the protagonist, in this case it is Hamlet. In the beginning of Hamlet, the character Claudius is known as the man who took over the role as king to Denmark after his brother, King Hamlet, had died. King Hamlet was also Hamlet s father and soon after his death, Claudius was quick to marry his own sister in law, Gertrude. When getting more into the play, the audience learns the truth behind King Hamlet s death. Claudius had poisoned and murdered his own brother. Claudius was very manipulating. For example, throughout act 4, most of Claudius s motives were to manipulate the people of Denmark in order to get what he wanted for himself. In act 4 scene 3 he manipulates the people of denmark in order to send Hamlet away because of his crimes. He wants them to believe that he is sending Hamlet away for the better, but in reality he is trying to get what he wants and send Hamlet away to get killed. In act 4 scene 5 his main motive at this point is to get rid of Hamlet no matter the circumstances. Claudius teams up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Was it because Claudius did not want his secret to come out or was it because he wanted to get rid of the one thing that makes him feel guilty for what he has
  • 43. Compare And Contrast Atheism And Colombia Three words that describe my culture are atheism, male, and colombian. To expand on my statement I would like to begin with the first word which is atheism, which is the disbelief or rather lack of belief in a god or gods. I do not believe on a god because I think there is a lack of evidence and I am also very skeptical about various things until proven wrong. In addition, the next word that I mentioned was male; I identify myself as a male because that is my gender. Considering I was born as male and do not plan to change this feature I chose it as it does define me in a sense. At last, I chose the word Colombian because I was born in Colombia and spent the biggest part of my life there. However, after taking some time to determine just how much the country changed me I decided to mention the fact that I am such and outgoing and outspoken person thanks to being from here, wherever you are in colombia people are always welcoming and easy going....
