The Harm Consequences Of Social Media And Its Effects
On...
There are 2.3 billion active social media users (Kit Smith 1). Meaning the majority
of people go on social media every day. Social media is almost a part of every teen
s life it s how they stay connected and meet up with people. But social media may be
worse than what most people would think. It s leading to much worse things for
teenagers that they won t see coming since social media is a huge part of their
lives. Social media s negatives outweigh the positives because it s causing long
term consequences and impacts teen s mental and emotional health. Social media
affects things long term because what you post, like, or repost on any site can be
used against you in any way shape or form. The internet is forever even if someone
deletes it, it never truly goes away. On the one hand, some argue that there are long
term consequences on teenagers that are not taken into consideration on social
media. In an article by Michael Farrell a couple of teenagers ages 13, 16, and, 18
are on social media and he wants to know what effects social media can have.
Basically, he asks the parents how they find time with their busy lives to be on
social media and how it affects their lives. He takes that information and what was
gathered is that since social media doesn t come with a guide so things can be
abused or used wrong (Farrell). Overall the effects were mainly how now there are
numerous places to access social media which leads to an increase in cyberbullying
and thereby lowers teens
1984 War Is Peace Essay
Through the novel, 1984, George Orwell argues that a society can unite through
nationalism and the opposition of a common enemy. The oligarchy of Oceania is
represented by three ironic slogans in which one is War is Peace . The idea of
believing that war is being waged regularly is one of the ways to keep the peace
among the people. When a war is going on, a community tends to be prioritized. The
prioritization of the community sometimes leads the people to sacrifice something of
their own for the improvement of society. A government that has its people s
devotion allows for the community to be maintained easily, thus keeping the peace.
In the War is Peace chapter from the Emmanuel Goldstein s book, there is text
describing some of the Party s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the process of eliminating the thought of the people, the Party is able to not
only monitor the human actions, but also restrict what can and can t be thought
of. In order to make sure that these robots stay stable, It is deliberate policy to keep
even the favored groups somewhere near the brink of hardship... (Orwell 196).
The deliberate policy shows that it was intended by the government of Oceania to
keep the citizens, favored groups , near hardship. These hardships, times of
deprivation, are a way for the Party to be the fallback for the people. When citizens
don t know what to do, they look up to Big Brother for encouragement. Hardships
are also times of when people need comfort, and once again the Party is there with
arms wide open to assure that those in need of help are secured. The difficulties of
the people are used as a weapon by the Party. Being the one entity that is looked up
to during times of despair and confusion allows for the loyalty of the people to
strengthen even more so. The brainwashed citizens believe that the Party is the one
true savior and are unified by not only a common enemy but by a common guardian.
Through feeling this affection from the Party the people have a sense of safety and
security which makes them believe even more in the words of Big Brother. As a

Compare And Contrast Al Capone And John Joseph Gotti
The compare and contrast subjects I am discussing are Al Capone and John Joseph
Gotti. The reason I have selected these people is because both are gangsters who
have significantly gotten their name out in the world. The included research will
prove why Al Capone is so well known as oppose to John Joseph Gotti. Both Capone
and Gotti share the aspects of occupation, ranking, and childhood. However they also
differ in many ways. Al Caponewas born in Brooklyn, New York on January 17,
1899. Capone attended school up until the sixth grade but then dropped out due to a
fight with a teacher. Following this act, he became a member of the James Street Gang
and developed a friendship with the gang leader Johnny Torrio. Capone eventually
graduated to the senior mob gang the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both share similarities in many aspects of their life. For instance, Both Gotti
and Capone were born in New York and grew up into becoming gangsters in
America. Additionally, both eventually became the leader of the designated gang
they were apart of after the original leader left. Capone became the leader of the
Torrio Capone South Side gang after Torrio got shot and almost killed and left
Chicago. Gotti became the leader of the Gambino crime family after Paul
Castellano was shot and killed. Likewise, both gangsters were convicted and
imprisoned for murder. Although Gotti was convicted and imprisoned many more
times than Capone ever was. Additionally, Capone died from syphilis just as Gotti
died from neck and head cancer. Both died on a heart wrenching aspect. On the
other hand, both gangsters have extraordinary differences. Capone s crime life
sprung from his childhood since he was grown up in the bad part of Brooklyn and
on the contrary, Gotti s crime life sprung up when he first became apart of the
Gambino crime family. Capone was only imprisoned for one murder and Gotti was
imprisoned several times for many murders and
The Structural Frame Model Of An Organization
The Structural Frame Twenty first century societies could be characterized as the
modern humanity with Cutting edge technology and multiculturalism, with extreme
materialism and economical drive. As a result, any modern organization, regardless
of its size, type or nature, has to depend upon the factual structures and best
management paths to survive in today s civilization. Lee G.Bolman and Terrence F.
Deal s (2013) book Reframing Organizations presents most updated and developed
managerial approaches to leadership and structurefor the organizations.
L.G. Bolman and T.F. Deal s (2013) bestseller provides four frame model of an
organization, which incorporates the structural, human resources, political and the
symbolic forms.
However, on account of organization s structure, policies, particular roles and
environments, each body of the four frame model has its own origin and rooted in
specific aspects. Although, logically connected every singular frame holds particular
outlooks, accountability and influence. The first construction of the four frame model
is structural frame and allegorically being addressed as the machine of the
organization. In existence of any establishment the structural frame is presumably the
most essential from four frame model and concentrates on the uniqueness and
singularity of each institution, the structure cannot be the same for every
organization. Therefore, the structural frames have to be compatible with needs and
The Success Of The Doomsday Machine
In Diplomacy, authored by Henry Kissinger, the lack of respect to the differing the
balance of power principles in separate countries of europe Europe, the bullying
strategies by Germany, the poor diplomatic alliances of Germany, Austria, France,
Britain and Russia, and the lack of understanding of differing Military policies by
Germany all lead to the Doomsday Machine. The Doomsday Machine was made up
of all the actions that resulted in the ripping apart of the diplomatic alliances, with
each alliance having too much at stake to permit the Concert of Europediplomacyto
function. Instead, the Concert of Europe and its ideas about the balance of power
were abolished. Kissinger mainly discusses the multiple diplomatic alliances that led
to the inevitable breakout of war. Most of the conflicts could have been avoided, but
many of the leaders of the European countries, mainly Germany and Russia, seemed
not to consider the long term implications of their decisions. Germany s actions
started diplomatic disputes with France, Britain, and Russia. The three countries
inherently formed an alliance with each other and isolated Germany in Europe. On
the part of Russia, their main objective seemed to start a war instead of look for
peace or seek a compromise. The leaders were often unwilling to politically negotiate
because they had much of their own land and activities on the Eastern front, and
therefore almost nothing to lose. The Territorial problems presented in the Treaty of
Love And Love In Othello
C.H Herford defines love as a passion, kindling heart, brain, and sense alike in natural
and happy proportions...and which commonly occurs at first sight and once for all .
When one truly loves someone or something, he or she is attracted to their/its entirety
and not just one single attribute. However, in William Shakespeares play, Othello, the
passage from Act 1, ii, lines 129 170 exhibits a relationship, that raises doubts on
whether Othello and Desdemona s marriage is based on true love, or the attraction
towards singular materialistic qualities. Shakespeare s clever manipulation of
language makes it evident that Desdemona is in fact attracted to Othello s stories and
Othello to her compassion towards his misfortunes rather than each... Show more

By making it clear that she has the need to listen to all of Othello s stories, and the
representation of Othello s stories as inanimate and tangible objects make it
evident and easy to answer that Othello s materialistic qualities play a major part in
the wooing of Desdemona, without which, they might not have fallen in love.
Othello even states that she [Desdemona] loved me for the dangers I had passed
and I loved her that she did pity them (I,iii,168 169) vindicating that their love for
each other was wholly based on singular characteristics, which served to be attractive
only for a short time, (as Othello ends up easily believing the lies about Desdemona
and forgets his love for her, ultimately taking her

looked eager to go she was already geared up with the door wide open to our little

You ready? I said to Amber I am pretty sure that sound was from a vehicle crash Leo
this might be our lucky day. she replied excitedly
My mind went back a three weeks ago when I first met Amber back in Syracuse,
she was stranded on the highway her truck s engine gave out and was fighting off a
horde that she attracted while trying to fix the engine. Lucky for her I pulled up
right when she ran out of bullets and was for sure going to be zombie food. I got
out my truck and yelled at her to come to me. She made a mad dash to my truck
while I held of the horde of walkers with my AK. We drove off just when the horde

we ran into the military. We managed to get out alive but we lost our transportation

British Socialization And British Moralization
Highlighting the absurdity in the belief that socialization, particularly British
socialization, is an indicator an individual s (un)likely descent into barbarism,
William Golding explores a narrative in which a plane crash has left a group of
adolescent boys stranded on an island, in his novel Lord of the Flies . Through the
mild jingoism and naivete of his characters, Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, Golding
demonstrates that believing a British upbringing is inherently moralizing is not only
a flawed judgement, but also leaves space for an abundance of disappointment. Of
all the boys, the one who distinctively establishes himself as more knowledgeable
than the rest is Piggy. Piggy, with his fierce rationality and intellect, is an astute
believer in the moralizing nature of socialization. Thus, he goes to extensive lengths
in order to maintain the remnants of English society the boys have attempted to
establish on the island. Most notably are his efforts to preserve the sanctity of the
conch. In the opening chapter, he is ecstatic when he and Ralph stumble upon the
conch and exclaims, We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. (Chapter 1,
pg. 16) For him, this shell signifies that all is not lost, that although they make be
away from the comfort of their superior English society, there is still some
semblance of order and discipline. Any disrespect or disregard for this symbol
frustrates him, instilling in him utter disbelief that good English boys like themselves

An Innocent Man Wronged in Oleanna Essay
Sometimes there are events in our lives that we cannot control. These events occur,
more or less, due to our own actions. Sometimes, however, we must come to terms
with our inability to handle certain situations and also to reach our goals. These
events are facts of life everyone: some people can t run as fast, or liftas much, or write
as well. It is during these times that we must focus on what we can do well, and try
to direct our goals around those features that make us good at something. In David
Mamets Oleanna, John loses his job and his house due to Carol s ignorance, lack of
self confidence, and overall inabilityto come to terms with her own short comings as
a student. This play epitomizes an act of complete degradation based... Show more

Carol to express some kind of opinion on the subject:
John: Well, let s address that. What do you think? Carol: I don t know. John: What do
you think, though? (pause) Carol: I don t know.
That exchange of dialogue on page 29 sums up Carol s lack of self confidence. She
won t even take the plunge, and try to talk about a subject brought up in class. John
tries to get her to give an opinion on a subject that carol obviously doesn t
understand, in an attempt to help her comprehend. Carol doesn t believe that she
has any ability, or else she would have at least tried to answer his question, a
question that isn t hard in and of itself to understand What do you think? Other
examples of her total lack of self confidence can be found earlier in the play: ...and
I walk around. From morning til night: with this one thought in my head. I m stupid
(12). What kind of person thinks of themselves as stupid, all the time? Carol
obviously has no confidence in her abilities to do anything, and she feels that
everyone around her thinks she s stupid as well. On the very next page even, Carol
accuses John of calling her stupid. She is so deliberate in her belief that she takes
what John says out of context, and turns it into an insult against her. Carol
Input and Output Devices
INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICES
In computing, input/output, or I/O, refers to the communication between an
information processing system (such as a computer), and the outside world
possibly a human, or another information processing system. Inputs are the signals
or data received by the system, and outputs are the signals or data sent from it. The
term can also be used as part of an action; to perform I/O is to perform an input or
output operation. I/O devices are used by a person (or other system) to communicate
with a computer. For instance, a keyboard or a mouse may be an input device for a
computer, while monitors and printers are considered output devices for a computer.

Disadvantages of using a mouse include
_ It is not easy and convenient to input text with a mouse.
_ Issuing commands by using a mouse is slower than by using a keyboard. _ A
mouse is not accurate enough for drawings that require high precision. _ A mouse
usually requires a flat surface to operate.
_ A mouse needs more desk space to operate when compared with a trackball.
Trackball
A trackball is a stationary pointing device with a ball mechanism on its top.
Advantages of a trackball include
_ A trackball is good for limited desk space because the user does not have to move
the entire device.
Disadvantages of trackball include
_ A trackball is usually not as accurate as a mouse.
_ The ball mechanism of trackballs also requires more frequent cleaning than a mouse.
Touchpad
Is a small pressure and motion sensitive area on a portable computer that you can use
to move the mouse pointer. When you move your finger across the pad, the mouse
pointer on the screen moves in the same direction. A touch pad is an alternative to a
mouse.
Advantages of a touch pad include
_ Easy and Fast one finger control.
_ Ideal for portable devices
Disadvantages of using a touchpad include
_ Expensive amp; found in specific devices e.g. laptops

Who Brought The Mind And Body Problem To Light
When considering this question, the essay will discuss what the mind and body
problem is and also who brought the mind and body problem to light. This will be
done by looking at various philosophers beliefs and how the debate of this problem
has changed over time, due to psychologists coming to light in the modern world.
This essay will also cover three main areas of belief, these being dualismwhich states
the mindand the body (brain) work separately from one another, materialism that
states that nothing else exists except from matter so therefore the mind and the body
(brain) work together and aren t separate and finally functionalism which begins to
state that mind and body
(brain) work in a more complex way to the other areas of belief, comparing humans to
operational computers.
The mind and body problem is a conundrum that argues the explanation of how
mental processes work alongside physical states, taking on board that the body is
physical matter and the mind is not states Gunther (1998). The history of the mind
and body debate conceptualised with Plato who brought to light the question of
mental states and physical states. Plato (as cited in Brysbaert and Rastle, 2013)
explains that the mind and body are two separate entities. Plato (as cited in Brysbaert
and Rastle,2013) explains his belief that the soul exists before, and survives the body

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Capital market is now playing a strategic role in a country s economic growth. It
facilitates the exchange of funds between company as demander and investor as
supplier. The existence of capital market enables company to obtain an alternative
source of fund. On the other hands, it gives flexibility for investor to choose
investment based on their preference. For both company and investor who are
involved in the capital market, understanding about capital market condition becomes
matter in order to understand how the market is actually works. One aspect of capital
market conditions that might become consideration before deciding to invest is the
market efficiency. The term of market efficiency, which is found in the capital market
literature, is used to elaborate the relationship between the information and the share
price. In 1970, Fama proposed the Efficient Market Theory and defined capital
market efficiency as the market in which prices fully reflect all available information.
Depending on the
Rational Choice Theory Research Paper
The Rational Choice Theory applies in many everyday instances and actions. So, one
of the cases in which the Rational Choice Theory can be used is when a person tries
to quit smoking. The person must set a goal to cut down the amount of cigarettes
they smoke until they are down to not smoking, use an alternative source to fight the
nicotine cravings, handle the withdrawal symptoms, stick to their goal, and then
evaluate their goal is and the side effects after they have quit smoking.
In most cases of people trying to quit smoking, they will have to gradually reduce
the number of cigarettes they smoke; however, a few people can just go cold turkey.
The first step to quitting smoking is making it a goal to keep. Setting a goal to quit

There are many alternatives to choose from such as chewing gum, using nicotine
patches (if necessary), jogging or running, and just simple doing something else to
keep your mind busy. The main purpose of all of these methods is to just keep the
mind occupied so that it will not wander back to thinking about smoking a cigarette.
So, one of the best alternative methods to smoking is chewing gum. Chewing on
gum has been proven to work on countless occasions, because it keeps your mouth
moving. Gum is a simple, everyday item that has become a valuable tool to helping
people quit smoking. Gum is the most recommended alternative method to people
who plan to quick smoking, and gum is also generally one of the most heard of and
used methods as well.
In order to cut down on the amount of cigarettes a person smokes, they must do so
in increments. For example, a man smokes two packs of cigarettes a week but he
suddenly decides to quit smoking, so the man settles to smoking a pack and a half
a week for two or three weeks instead. After that two or three weeks has past, he
then cuts down to smoking only a pack a week for another two to three weeks. He
will continue to do this until he has gotten to where he will no longer feels the urge
to smoke a
Prescription Opioid Effects
Every individual, more or less, has had a type of surgery, whether it was major or
minor, and gone through excruciating pain. With that pain comes pills; Codeine,
Percocet, Vicodin, the usual works. The scary part about all of these drugs aren t
the surgeries you have in order to receive them, it s the fact that anyone can get
these drugs, they don t even need to have surgery or an existing medical condition.
Many people I know on a close, personal level have told me that they have gotten
drugs or had a friend who has gotten drugs via some guy or a family friend who
happens to be a doctor that fraudulently signed over a prescription. Not only is this

We know, of course, that this is not the case and their recreational activities will
cause more harm than good for everybody, themselves, their families and first care
responders. Easy access to these prescription drugs is becoming so out of hand
that individuals that are actually in need of specific drugs now must go through
hours upon hours of testing to see if they are being truthful or just trying to sneak a
fast one past their medical providers for their own selfish benefit, whether it is to
misuse the drugs themselves or to illegally sell them to others. According to the
American Heart Association, even non steroidal anti inflammatory Drugs
(NSAIDs), including commonly used painkillers such as ibuprofen, can trigger or
worsen heart failure by causing sodium and fluid retention and making diuretic
medications less effective (AHA, 2016). Not many people know what these drugs
do besides alleviate their pain at times, so without this knowledge, it s no wonder
these painkillers and other prescription drugs are being so misused and abused by
today s population. In the event that someone had overdosed on said drug and had no
known previous medical history that involved interactions with it, it puts the first care
responder in an uncertain and dangerous situation that could jeopardize the victim s
life when it all could have been avoided. Now,
Social Injustice In The American Revolution
Throughout our cake, we had two major themes that were evident, social injustice and
political grievances. To demonstrate social injustice, we used medals for the Latin
American Revolution, Chains for the American Revolution, and a tennis ball for the
French Revolution. To represent economic inequality, we used teabags for the
American revolution, bread for the French revolution and money for the Latin
American Revolution.
For the American Revolution, The chains represented the role African American
slaves played in the revolution. The revolution motivated African American resistance
against slavery. The tea bags were symbolic to the Boston Tea Partywhen

who served the peninsulares/criollos. Lastly the gold medal portrayed the lowest
class, the Africans/natives. This class was not only the lowest but also the largest.
The people in this class were not identified as citizens but did do most of the labor.

the trees open up to a little wooden cabin just off the road. After 6 hours in the

by the fresh air. The little cabin is actually a camp store, and in it you find the
assistance and the map needed to tackle the upcoming adventure. The road winds a

wearing the proper shoes you walk toward the trail. Something catches your eye, and
with a turn of your head, there it is. The lodge overlooks the most incredible view,
one that could only have been created by God. The lookout reveals mountains of trees
with an unforeseeable future. After admiring the beauty, the trail calls your name. It

changes. You start to walk down the mountain, the gravel turned to dirt and with the
help from the dew and rain it was mud, and the mountain grew a little steeper with

catch a glimpse of how culture was during the time they were written by comparing
and contrasting the elements of the story that are presented and modified. The
distinct differences that can be found between the Old English and the vulgate
versions of Judith provide a clear view of what the Anglo Saxons considered to be
important, and what they felt required respect. When comparing and contrasting
these two versions, one can utilize other Old English works such as Beowulf and The

A difference clearly illuminated by examining the two works is the role of women
in Anglo Saxon culture. The Anglo Saxon version of Judith clearly illustrates the
idea of a Valkyrie, a woman who is not afraid to battle, and revels in the thought of
Judith being a strong captain or even warrior who leads her people to a bloody
victory. This conception is evidenced by how Judith is characterized in the Anglo
Saxon version being portrayed as a valiant virgin with nerve and vigor (Judith Ch.
10). This stands in stark contrast to the book of Judith verses three through four
where Judith is revealed to be a widow who has lived alone for three years and four
months. It s obvious by looking at these two different stories that one can tell what
was important to the Anglo Saxon people. A young woman strong and stable
without a care in the world besides who she was fighting would appeal greatly to
the warrior culture of the Anglo Saxons. But the book of Judith reveals to us a
woman in deep sadness who has fasted all the days of
Joseph Heller s Catch-22
Joseph Heller s critically acclaimed novel Catch 22 is an example of a novel that
was never meant to be just a story . Every chapter peels away a layer of analytical
depth in which none but the most sophisticated minds can fully conquer. Robert M.
Young s psychoanalytical approach to Catch 22 can be divided into three
interpretations: why his focus on the psychoanalytical structure is correct, how his
ideas accurately reflect Joseph Hellers intended purpose for the novel, and how his
analysis impacts the overall perception of the novel. Helplessness against the
destructive forces within is ubiquitous and constitutes the greatest physical danger
situation known to the human organism (Young 1). Catch 22is a novel that is
interpreted and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first time reading the novel, it can be described as a satire with plenty of black
humor. However, upon rereading it and paying further attention to the syntax and
diction, one can begin to see the novel through Young s eyes. The novel one of the
century s greatest and one whose subtleties I have only begun to convey turns on
what happens at the intersection of character and the institutionalized reifications and
cruelties of debased societies and societies at war, internally and with nominally
external enemies (Young 8). To summarize, Young is stating how the pressures of
war and the expectations of society lean heavily on the shoulders of the individual.
These kinds of burdens induce heavy psychological damages along with the troubles
of external problems (i.e. the nominally external enemies ). After reading Young s
critical review, one gains the ability to read the novel in a new light, and further
appreciate the enormous complexity Joseph Heller wove through the sentences. For
example, page 356 says, It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue
and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder
into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into
patriotism, and sadism into justice (Young 8). The complexity as well as the raw truth
of the above sentence shows the kinds
Survival Pros And Cons In World War Z By Max Brooks
Whether you think about it or not, something is this world could happen that
would change your life forever. Therefore, it could be life threatening or maybe
just leave you with scars. Whenever someone speaks of a life threatening event
like, a zombie apocalypse, people tend to blow it off. Could it really happen? Will
an infection spread across the world transforming humans into the living, dead?
You will need to be prepared to protect your friends and family; however, you will
also need the mind set to not be afraid to leave one behind. You will always have to
be ready for the worse situations. The novel, World War Z, written by Max Brooks
leaves readers with a lot of knowledge about zombies. Although many may not
believe in a zombieapocalypse happening, World War Z, provides zombie knowledge
and many survival tips; however, will those tips help a human survive this horrifying
act.

One may never know, because this is very unlikely to happen. However, after reading
the novel, World War Z, one may be left with many helpful survival tips. With
knowing common zombie knowledge, one may have enough information to outsmart
the zombies. If zombies are spreading across one s town, one will have to take
action and not freak out. Overthinking this life threatening situation may leave one
dead before they face a zombie. After hearing about the zombies increasing, one
should take action, yes zombies are slow, but one will have to remember they are
multiplying. Soon it won t matter if they are slow, when hundreds are surrounding
every house in the streets. During a zombie apocalypse you will need to have the
right mindset, one will have to be able to kill the living dead. One may not have
time to show emotion if a family member has been attacked. If one can out run a
zombie and shoot a soulless human in the head, one will survive the
Articles Of Confederation Dbq
The Constitutional Convention convened in 1787 to discuss to revision of the
Articles of Confederation. However, as the debates went on, the delegates soon
discovered they needed to write a completely new form of government rather than
revise the old one. This convention which created the ensuing Constitution was called
because of the various problems with the Articles of Confederation, such as a federal
government that was too weak and economic laws that were causing the American
economy to decline rather than grow. These characteristics of the Articles built up
over the years until the unrest became apparent to the state governments with a
rebellion in Massachusetts. The first major problem with the Articles which led to the
calling of the convention was the limited power they gave the federal government.
The Articles had been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the Articles could not prevent the practice of state tariffs because the
government was not allowed to interfere in interstate commerce; this discouraged
trade between states and made it so there was no advantage to buying domestic
rather than foreign product which weakened the American economy. Americans had
also been cut off from trade with the British sugar colonies and American exports to
Britain were restricted. These were two major sources of income for colonial
America that were now gone, and with the limited federal government could do little
to help. There was also a problem with inflation, because while the federal
government did have the power to coin and print money, the states could each issue
their own individual money as well. There was no way for the federal government to
stop the states from doing this, and so the continental dollar continued to inflate and
depreciate. In addition., many state taxes continue to rise to an unbearable level.

Philosophy Of Experiential Learning On The
Contemporary...
To be successful in the contemporary business market, a candidate needs a
repertoire of knowledge forged equally from experience and from education. After
earning my undergraduate degree, I accepted a position with a private transportation
firm and entered the workforce. My time working as an administration manager
exposed me to the demands of a fast paced private market. I learned to adapt quickly
to meet the needs of my employer and the clients that my company served. Now it is
time to enhance my work experience with education. I decided to invest in an MSA
/MBA to gain the leadership and accounting theory necessary to achieve my goal of
working in public accounting. I believe that Northeastern s D Armore McKim School
of Business will impart me with robust and relevant skills, which, along with my
work experience, will make me competitive in the current job market.
I am drawn to Northeastern s philosophy of experiential learning. Hands on practice is
invaluable. The three month internship incorporated into the MSA/MBA program
provides a student with the opportunity to apply newly learned skills to real world
situations. In addition, it allows an employer to evaluate a student s potential as a
permanent employee. During my internship, I hope to demonstrate my worth to an
employer and convert my internship into a permanent job.
I have set a goal to network with my peers in the program and to leave Northeastern

Descriptive Essay About Nursing Home
As I walked through the doors of the nursing home I noticed most of the residents
were sitting in the hallways in their wheel chairs. Some of the residents were rolling
down the hall with no destination while others were carrying on conversations with
other residents that had no idea they were even talking to them. The aroma of the
nursing home wasn t pleasant, it smelled like a place that was quite familiar to me.
My grandma s house, it smelled musty and as if every resident had mothballs in their

Analysis Of Max Beckmann s The Beginning
Contextual Analysis
Max Beckmann The Beginning (Fig.1) is an oil painting on canvas that measures
69x125 1/2 in. First titled Childhood, the paintings meaning was based on
Beckmann s dreams and his past. He combined these into a dreamlike realm with
an addition of imagination to create a relatable fairytale sequence. Using oil, brush
and bright colors, he created three panels separated by bold white space. The left
and right panel are the same size, unlike the middle which is much larger and
contains more detail and various meanings. The three panels contained sex,
innocence, and adolescence. Beckmann s primary focus appears to be the various
changes of a boy evolving into a man through a bizarre reality with imagery from his
dreams.
During post war his art begins to take on humorous details, which can be seen in
the Puss in Boots character, which he detailed in his diary on April 1946. I just had
an absurd and unpleasant dream in which somehow a Puss in Boots played a role
that made me mighty ridiculous . He was recognized as an Expressionist artist,
which can be seen in his use of brushstrokes and bold color choices. The Beginning
was one of his most autobiographical paintings out the 10 allegorical triptych
paintings he created during 1932 1950.
Max Beckmann painted The Beginning in Saint Louis, dated from October 1946 to
May 16, 1949. He took his time on each panel, October 1946 was the first draft of the
piece. In 1947, he began teaching again

Taking a Look at Autobiographical Images
Viewing autobiographical images is often a relational experience. Within
contemporary art, autobiographical work opens up the possibility of creating new
kinds of relationships between people of different backgrounds. It can operate both
as a representation transference of lived experience and as an apparatus for
experiential, relational viewing. When viewers encounter work that deals with the
autobiography of the artist, they engage cognitive and affective processes that often
involve identification and memory. In this practice of relational viewing, the artist s
work functions as a powerful catalyst for memory, whereby viewers draw upon their
own life stories to connect with the work. Consequently, the viewer not only
perceives the image in the present, but projects it back the artist s and their memory,
body and being. Contemporary artists Rebecca Belmore and Nan Goldinexplore their
own memories and past experience through their portrayal of the body. Their use of
body language is quite deliberate at creating subtle tension between the viewer and
the work that evokes this aforementioned relational viewing. Belomore s Firnge
(2007/08) a photographic transparency in a light box draws on not only the memories
of her past, but the aboriginal culture and people she attempts to represent. Goldin
also represents a wider group then herself, the New York Bohemians. Rebecca

One of the most advanced applications of QD s is its use in drug and gene delivery,
methods like polymer and liposome based drug deliveries. Polymer based delivery
is the use of a natural polymer that is known to be or have antiviral or antitumor

The PEG s ability to do this prolongs the half life of a drug and reduces dosing

Internal And External Environment Analysis Essay
When developing effective business strategies, organizations must thoroughly
analyze both the internal and external environments in which they operate (Hill,
Jones, Schilling, 2014, p. 11). This analysis will enable them to pinpoint those
elements that threaten their current and future profitability as well as those elements
that offer the potential to increase current and future profitability (Hill, et al., 2014,
pp. 44 45). The external environment analysis specifically looks at the industry
within which a business functions as well as the competitive forces that affect and
influence the nature of that industry. One way in which to examine these forces is
by utilizing Michael E. Porter s Five Forces model, which looks at the affect of
competitors (both emerging and current), the bargaining power of suppliers and
buyers, in addition to the threat of substitutes (Hill, et al., 2014, p. 48) on a specific
business. This paper sets out to investigate the external environment of eBay, using
Porter s model, to determine how these competitive pressures could potentially affect
the online auctionsite/retailer s future success.
What does your five forces analysis reveal about the nature and strength of the
various competitive pressures eBay faces? Are the competitive pressures facing eBay
and other online auction company s conducive to earning good profits? Why or why
not?

The Importance Of Sex Trafficking In Brazil
Sex trafficking is a worldwide issue that is prevalent in many countries and is
defined as a form of human trafficking that almost always involves the forced
prostitution of women, although it does fall upon men as well, often children. This
issue is a form of modern day slavery that unfortunately occurs more than it should.
The fact that this is a common worldwide issue means that it is a problem that is
affecting everyone. Therefore, it would be of uttermost importance for this issue to
be brought into light more so that the public could work together to decrease the
number of victims that are forced into this kind of lifestyle. Because of how
common sex trafficking is and because it is such a major issue, it is difficult to find a

caution during the Olympics. Between 2005 and 2011 it was reported by the
Brazilian Foreign Ministry that there were more than 300 Brazilian sex trafficking
victims abroad and 337 sex trafficking victims in Brazil. The years alone prove that
sex trafficking in Brazil is not an issue that can be solved quickly rather it may take
a couple more years before there is an actual decrease in the number of victims.
Countries abroad are also not helping the issue especially since the numbers show
that the amount of victim in Brazil and those abroad are not too far

US Involvement In The Korean War
Charles Beard once described the US s security policy as one built by perpetual war
to ensure perpetual peace. The United States is regularly involved in confrontations
between nations. Even though quelling disagreements is the primary purpose of
getting mixed up in disputes between countries, at times the US strategically benefits
through its peace initiatives. Moreover, such interventions promote global stability
and make sure that the world is a peaceful place. The US should be involved in
conflicts between countries because it provides weaker nations with a line of defense,
prevents civilian casualties, promotes beneficial ideologies, expands the US s
influence, and protects the US from potential confrontations in the future. When North

economic and political sanctions against Russia (Daiss, 2016). These penalties

where the US had no military presence. However, one has to remember that Ukraine
is not a member of NATO. Therefore, the US is not obligated to protect Ukraine in
the event of an invasion. Comparatively, countries like Poland enjoy the protection of
the US through NATO. As such, the country is protected from Russian aggression by

one of the most important and well known genres. Throughout the novel magical
realism is present, shown in both Nakata and Kafka s story line. I know I should
be amazed to see them, but somehow it doesn t seem weird at all. It s entirely
within the realm of possibility (Murakami 221). This explains perfectly the use of
magical realism and its appearance in the novel. For instance, when Kafka enters

them, and makes a job to find the missing cats. Both of these events are impossible,
but very realistic to the characters. The events are portrayed in a way that seem
Essay About The Disintegration Of Yugoslavia
Yugoslavia was a very successful country under the lead of Josip Broz Tito.
Yugoslavia was made of 6 Republics and those were: Croatia, Montenegro ,Bosnia
Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Kosovo together with
Vojvodina which at that time were recognized as provinces. After the death of Tito
Yugoslavia began to demolish. The collapse of Yugoslavia began in 1980, and it
continued until the 27th of April 1992, which in history is known as the date when
Yugoslavia totally collapsed. In my opinion, the reason that the disintegration of
Yugoslavia happened was because of the decline in absolute sovereignty. In this paper,
I am going to talk about the definition of sovereignty, different perspectives about the
disintegration of Yugoslavia from some authors and the decline in absolute
sovereignty which led to the disintegration of Yugoslavia.

citizens are the ones who decide about creating government, institutions and choosing

How Technology Has Changed Our Future Essay
Wearable technology has been around since the 70 s and continues to shrink in size
while growing in functionality. This burgeoning technology is used in clothes, the
medical field, for fitness/health applications and as fashion accessories. Now that
smart phone innovation has slowed, the technology world is looking for a new
gadget to put their interest and money into. Wearable technology could be the answer.
One specific piece of wearable technology has enjoyed a recent spike in interest from
technology enthusiasts. The smart watchis poised to become the next technological
giant like the smartphone and tablet computer before it. Before renowned companies
like Apple and Samsung entered the market in 2015, the smart watch market grew
from simple calculator watches in the 70 s to what is essentially a wrist computer.
The newest smart watches are beginning to encroach on the many desirable features
found in smartphones such as text messaging, email, and other applications. Despite
the growing list of features and even advantages these watches have over smart
phones, they re not selling well. Within the next ten years smart watches will fade
into obscurity; never becoming the ubiquitous technology some have envisioned
them to be. In order to fully understand why smart watches are a failing technology it
is important to realize all the reasons smart watches are heralded as the next
technological innovation. The most immediately obvious is the size and shape of a
typical smart
Compare And Contrast Max Weber And Fayol
In this essay, I have chosen to discuss how Max Weber (1864 1920) and Henri
Fayol (1841 1925) compare and contrast in their ideology and contributions to the
field of management. Max Weber focused on how to structure an organisation to
become successful. He developed six main elements to promote this success, which
he considered would develop efficiency. He called it bureaucracy. Bureaucracy has its
advantages and disadvantages, it was considered to be both rational and efficient
(Tiernan, Morley, 2013, p. 17), but for example Weber s rather strict division of
labour also led to workers becoming bored and unmotivated. The six elements that he
created were; Division of labour, Hierarchy, Selection, Career orientation,
Formalisation and Impersonality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two have been compared and contrasted above throughout and from that we can
deduce they exclude the concept of the external environment effecting an
organisation, which is not the case. This is why there is no one theorist with the
complete solution to success in an organisation, but both of these men have hugely
affected the work place for everyone since their work has been recognised. They
agree upon the importance of the division of labour, the idea of a hierarchy and rules
within an organisation. In contrast to this they handle such matters as equity and
impersonality, which are similar concepts, very differently as stated. Fayol was more
personal than Weber; he embraced team work and initiative in employees. These
points I have brought up show a clear comparison yet slight contrast between the
theorists, and I have shown this throughout as to how they have contributed in the

Epidemiology And Physical Activity
Introduction
Physical Activity and its effects on the human body is a topic that is widely
discussed in the field of epidemiology. Physical Activity is defined as any bodily
movement a person makes that is produced by skeletal muscle and requires some sort
of energy disbursement. This is vastly different when compared to the term: exercise,
and can be characterized by a multitude of factors such as frequency, intensity, timing,
and type (Dishman, Heath, Lee, 2013, p. 565). When looking at the dose response
relationship between physical activity and the prevalence of chronic diseases,
participation in higher recommendations of physical activity can result in the
decrease of morbidity as well as mortality.

McDonald s Hotels
Written Case Analysis
By
Sean Bibbey
SWOT Analysis
External Environment
The external environment of the hotel industry in is very competitive and already
well established. Trends in the market include promotional campaigns to customers
using the more bang for your buck, method. There are several different segments of
the hotel industry including: luxury, upscale, mid market with food and beverage,
mid market without food and beverage, economy, and budget. Each different segment
offers certain amenities to appeal to consumers depending on what they are looking
for in an over night stay away from home. As McDonald s looks at entering the hotel
industry they have looked at several important ... Show more content on

Finally, McDonald s could create a totally brand name driven hotel enterprise by
using the same type of direction Disney did when they created their own cruise line.
Strategy Recommendations
General Recommendations
McDonald s should use their brand name to create a McDonald s experience in the
hotel industry just like Disney did with cruises. They should also incorporate their
food service experience with their hotels and create new menus for them just like they
do when they enter a new country.
Specific Recommendations
McDonald s should enter the mid market with food and beverage segment. In this
segment they can take advantage of what they already know in the food service
industry while avoiding the high cost and inexperience of luxury accommodations.
These hotels should be directed at children and families. They could incorporate
the McDonald s Play Place and other fun activity rooms like arcades or maybe
something more adult like a game room with pool tables and electronic darts. Using
a more family oriented direction will also allow them to avoid the high cost of liquor
licenses and trying to compete with something that is already being done.
Rationale behind Recommendations
If McDonald s wants to take part in the hotel industry using the strength of their brand
name it is important that they differentiate themselves from all the other hotel chains.

Minor Consent In Adolescents
A third exception to minor consent is birth control. In the setting of contraception and
sexual healthcare, The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) believe that policies
supporting adolescent consent and protecting adolescent confidentiality are in the
best interests of adolescents (AAP, 2014). The contraception pill is significant in
reducing pregnancyrates, but can be contentious when it comes to ethical, moral and
religious views. It can also cause distress with parents when they find out if parental
consent is not required. This can be challenging for nurses who do not understand
state and federal laws and how they apply to minors and the use of birth control. The
study states that, Nearly half of US high school students report ever
The Day Of National Parks
The outdoors, there s something about being outside and the beauty of the forest,
glaciers, oceans, and vast wilderness that draws humanity to it. Could it be getting
back to our natural state or just trying to connect with God s creation? Either way
Millions of people travel to National Parks a year: 3 million traveled to yellowstone
alone in 2015 (Visser). But sadly not all of them have favorable trips; in 2007 the
National Park Servicereported 3,593 search and rescuemissions or SAR missions
(National Parks). The average budget for SAR missions is $200,000 and each year
that is exceeded. The solution is charge the bill of the mission to the one in need of
being rescued. Now this would not apply in every case, there are times no matter how
hard you prepared or how careful you were trouble still comes your way. For these
missions you won t be billed, but if you go past marked barriers, not properly
equipped, or have been medically prescribed not to do vigouroux exercise then you
will be billed for the cost of your rescue.
On Grouse Mountain in British Columbia a group of skiers and snowboarders had
to be guided out of an avalanche prone area with a helicopter, because after high
avalanche warnings in the area and a strict verbal by ski patrol not to cross the
boundary they decided to anyway (Sharples). These men were charged for everything
that it cost to ensure their safe arrival. I m proposing that we do the samething here in
America. There would have to be stipulations

Social media is almost a part of every teen s life it s how they stay connected and meet up with people. But social media may be worse than what most people would think. It s leading to much worse things for teenagers that they won t see coming since social media is a huge part of their lives. The internet is forever even if someone deletes it, it never truly goes away. • 4. 1984 War Is Peace Essay Through the novel, 1984, George Orwell argues that a society can unite through nationalism and the opposition of a common enemy. The oligarchy of Oceania is represented by three ironic slogans in which one is War is Peace . The idea of believing that war is being waged regularly is one of the ways to keep the peace among the people. When a war is going on, a community tends to be prioritized. The prioritization of the community sometimes leads the people to sacrifice something of their own for the improvement of society. A government that has its people s devotion allows for the community to be maintained easily, thus keeping the peace. The deliberate policy shows that it was intended by the government of Oceania to keep the citizens, favored groups , near hardship. These hardships, times of deprivation, are a way for the Party to be the fallback for the people. When citizens don t know what to do, they look up to Big Brother for encouragement. Hardships are also times of when people need comfort, and once again the Party is there with arms wide open to assure that those in need of help are secured. The difficulties of the people are used as a weapon by the Party. Being the one entity that is looked up to during times of despair and confusion allows for the loyalty of the people to strengthen even more so. The brainwashed citizens believe that the Party is the one true savior and are unified by not only a common enemy but by a common guardian. Through feeling this affection from the Party the people have a sense of safety and security which makes them believe even more in the words of Big Brother. • 5. Compare And Contrast Al Capone And John Joseph Gotti The compare and contrast subjects I am discussing are Al Capone and John Joseph Gotti. The reason I have selected these people is because both are gangsters who have significantly gotten their name out in the world. The included research will prove why Al Capone is so well known as oppose to John Joseph Gotti. Both Capone and Gotti share the aspects of occupation, ranking, and childhood. However they also differ in many ways. Al Caponewas born in Brooklyn, New York on January 17, 1899. Capone attended school up until the sixth grade but then dropped out due to a fight with a teacher. Following this act, he became a member of the James Street Gang and developed a friendship with the gang leader Johnny Torrio. Capone eventually graduated to the senior mob gang the... The Structural Frame Model Of An Organization The Structural Frame Twenty first century societies could be characterized as the modern humanity with Cutting edge technology and multiculturalism, with extreme materialism and economical drive. As a result, any modern organization, regardless of its size, type or nature, has to depend upon the factual structures and best management paths to survive in today s civilization. Lee G.Bolman and Terrence F. Deal s (2013) book Reframing Organizations presents most updated and developed managerial approaches to leadership and structurefor the organizations. L.G. The Success Of The Doomsday Machine In Diplomacy, authored by Henry Kissinger, the lack of respect to the differing the balance of power principles in separate countries of europe Europe, the bullying strategies by Germany, the poor diplomatic alliances of Germany, Austria, France, Britain and Russia, and the lack of understanding of differing Military policies by Germany all lead to the Doomsday Machine. The Doomsday Machine was made up of all the actions that resulted in the ripping apart of the diplomatic alliances, with each alliance having too much at stake to permit the Concert of Europediplomacyto function. Instead, the Concert of Europe and its ideas about the balance of power were abolished. Kissinger mainly discusses the multiple diplomatic alliances that led to the inevitable breakout of war. Most of the conflicts could have been avoided, but many of the leaders of the European countries, mainly Germany and Russia, seemed not to consider the long term implications of their decisions. Germany s actions started diplomatic disputes with France, Britain, and Russia. The three countries inherently formed an alliance with each other and isolated Germany in Europe. On the part of Russia, their main objective seemed to start a war instead of look for peace or seek a compromise. The leaders were often unwilling to politically negotiate because they had much of their own land and activities on the Eastern front, and therefore almost nothing to lose. • 10. British Socialization And British Moralization Highlighting the absurdity in the belief that socialization, particularly British socialization, is an indicator an individual s (un)likely descent into barbarism, William Golding explores a narrative in which a plane crash has left a group of adolescent boys stranded on an island, in his novel Lord of the Flies . Through the mild jingoism and naivete of his characters, Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, Golding demonstrates that believing a British upbringing is inherently moralizing is not only a flawed judgement, but also leaves space for an abundance of disappointment. Of all the boys, the one who distinctively establishes himself as more knowledgeable than the rest is Piggy. Piggy, with his fierce rationality and intellect, is an astute believer in the moralizing nature of socialization. Thus, he goes to extensive lengths in order to maintain the remnants of English society the boys have attempted to establish on the island. Most notably are his efforts to preserve the sanctity of the conch. In the opening chapter, he is ecstatic when he and Ralph stumble upon the conch and exclaims, We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. (Chapter 1, pg. 16) For him, this shell signifies that all is not lost, that although they make be away from the comfort of their superior English society, there is still some semblance of order and discipline. Any disrespect or disregard for this symbol frustrates him, instilling in him utter disbelief that good English boys like themselves

Who Brought The Mind And Body Problem To Light When considering this question, the essay will discuss what the mind and body problem is and also who brought the mind and body problem to light. This will be done by looking at various philosophers beliefs and how the debate of this problem has changed over time, due to psychologists coming to light in the modern world. This essay will also cover three main areas of belief, these being dualismwhich states the mindand the body (brain) work separately from one another, materialism that states that nothing else exists except from matter so therefore the mind and the body (brain) work together and aren t separate and finally functionalism which begins to state that mind and body (brain) work in a more complex way to the other areas of belief, comparing humans to operational computers. A difference clearly illuminated by examining the two works is the role of women in Anglo Saxon culture. The Anglo Saxon version of Judith clearly illustrates the idea of a Valkyrie, a woman who is not afraid to battle, and revels in the thought of Judith being a strong captain or even warrior who leads her people to a bloody victory. This conception is evidenced by how Judith is characterized in the Anglo Saxon version being portrayed as a valiant virgin with nerve and vigor (Judith Ch. 10). This stands in stark contrast to the book of Judith verses three through four where Judith is revealed to be a widow who has lived alone for three years and four months. But the book of Judith reveals to us a woman in deep sadness who has fasted all the days of

First titled Childhood, the paintings meaning was based on Beckmann s dreams and his past. He combined these into a dreamlike realm with an addition of imagination to create a relatable fairytale sequence. Using oil, brush and bright colors, he created three panels separated by bold white space. The left and right panel are the same size, unlike the middle which is much larger and contains more detail and various meanings. The three panels contained sex, innocence, and adolescence. Beckmann s primary focus appears to be the various changes of a boy evolving into a man through a bizarre reality with imagery from his dreams. During post war his art begins to take on humorous details, which can be seen in the Puss in Boots character, which he detailed in his diary on April 1946. I just had an absurd and unpleasant dream in which somehow a Puss in Boots played a role that made me mighty ridiculous . He was recognized as an Expressionist artist, which can be seen in his use of brushstrokes and bold color choices. • 30. Taking a Look at Autobiographical Images Viewing autobiographical images is often a relational experience. Within contemporary art, autobiographical work opens up the possibility of creating new kinds of relationships between people of different backgrounds. It can operate both as a representation transference of lived experience and as an apparatus for experiential, relational viewing. When viewers encounter work that deals with the autobiography of the artist, they engage cognitive and affective processes that often involve identification and memory. In this practice of relational viewing, the artist s work functions as a powerful catalyst for memory, whereby viewers draw upon their own life stories to connect with the work. Consequently, the viewer not only perceives the image in the present, but projects it back the artist s and their memory, body and being. Contemporary artists Rebecca Belmore and Nan Goldinexplore their own memories and past experience through their portrayal of the body. Their use of body language is quite deliberate at creating subtle tension between the viewer and the work that evokes this aforementioned relational viewing. Every other place on earth, football is soccer, and football is called American Football. Football is extremely popular in America, and the fans are very passionate, however, there are rarely riots or extreme celebrations. There are two divisions that play each other for championships, the National FootballConference (NFL) and American FootballConference(AFC). These particles differ from other nanomaterials because all their dimensions are in nanoscale, apposed to one dimensional or two dimensional nanomaterials which have one or two dimensions greater then a nanoscale. Nanoparticles have amazing applications in medicine pushing the boundaries of what we can accomplish in areas like medical imaging and drug and gene delivery. One of the most advanced applications of QD s is its use in drug and gene delivery, methods like polymer and liposome based drug deliveries. Polymer based delivery is the use of a natural polymer that is known to be or have antiviral or antitumor characteristics, these are referred to a PEG. PEG is known for there high water solubility and biocompatibility, these PEG s are attached to drugs to increase their solubility, increase drug uptake by cells and decrease their renal clearance of the drug. The PEG s ability to do this prolongs the half life of a drug and reduces dosing frequency. Liposome based drug delivery, is the formation of vesicles where an amount of fluid is trapped inside a Nano phospholipid molecule. Vesicles can range in size from tens of nanometers to thousands of nanometres (Torchilin and Weissig 2003). Liposome and polymer delivery methods are being used to treat cancer, Paclitaxel is an anti cancer drug that had to be administered with a verity of other drugs due to its side effects. In 2005, it was improved and a form of Paclitaxel was loaded within a nanoparticle of a natural polymer, in tests it eliminated some of the side effects of the drug but also provided some additional benefits. In treatment of tumors that have become resistant to specific delivery methods, Paclitaxel can be loaded into different forms of polymer nanoparticles and this ability to provide a drug in a

Internal And External Environment Analysis Essay When developing effective business strategies, organizations must thoroughly analyze both the internal and external environments in which they operate (Hill, Jones, Schilling, 2014, p. 11). This analysis will enable them to pinpoint those elements that threaten their current and future profitability as well as those elements that offer the potential to increase current and future profitability (Hill, et al., 2014, pp. 44 45). The external environment analysis specifically looks at the industry within which a business functions as well as the competitive forces that affect and influence the nature of that industry. One way in which to examine these forces is by utilizing Michael E. Porter s Five Forces model, which looks at the affect of competitors (both emerging and current), the bargaining power of suppliers and buyers, in addition to the threat of substitutes (Hill, et al., 2014, p. 48) on a specific business. This paper sets out to investigate the external environment of eBay, using Porter s model, to determine how these competitive pressures could potentially affect the online auctionsite/retailer s future success. What does your five forces analysis reveal about the nature and strength of the various competitive pressures eBay faces? Are the competitive pressures facing eBay and other online auction company s conducive to earning good profits? Why or why not? Based on the analysis of the five competitive forces affecting eBay, it appears that the online auction

The Importance Of Sex Trafficking In Brazil Sex trafficking is a worldwide issue that is prevalent in many countries and is defined as a form of human trafficking that almost always involves the forced prostitution of women, although it does fall upon men as well, often children. This issue is a form of modern day slavery that unfortunately occurs more than it should. The fact that this is a common worldwide issue means that it is a problem that is affecting everyone. Therefore, it would be of uttermost importance for this issue to be brought into light more so that the public could work together to decrease the number of victims that are forced into this kind of lifestyle. The issue is so big and Brazil is so well known for their sex trafficking problem that even in 2016 during the Olympics there were concerns that perhaps the number of victims could increase, therefore the public was being informed and the media was desperately trying to address this issue so that perhaps there would be more caution during the Olympics. Between 2005 and 2011 it was reported by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry that there were more than 300 Brazilian sex trafficking victims abroad and 337 sex trafficking victims in Brazil. The years alone prove that sex trafficking in Brazil is not an issue that can be solved quickly rather it may take a couple more years before there is an actual decrease in the number of victims. Countries abroad are also not helping the issue especially since the numbers show that the amount of victim in Brazil and those abroad are not too far

Moreover, such interventions promote global stability and make sure that the world is a peaceful place. First, in the form of economic and political sanctions against Russia (Daiss, 2016). These penalties have proved costly to Russia and in some way have deterred further Russian aggression. Second, the US s influence is visible through the lack of military assistance to Ukraine. It may seem odd to discuss the impact of the US in a conflict where the US had no military presence. However, one has to remember that Ukraine is not a member of NATO. Therefore, the US is not obligated to protect Ukraine in the event of an invasion. Comparatively, countries like Poland enjoy the protection of the US through NATO. As such, the country is protected from Russian aggression by the US military s might (Barnes,

Throughout the novel magical realism is present, shown in both Nakata and Kafka s story line. I know I should be amazed to see them, but somehow it doesn t seem weird at all. It s entirely within the realm of possibility (Murakami 221). This explains perfectly the use of magical realism and its appearance in the novel. For instance, when Kafka enters the forest and randomly finds two soldiers waiting for him to make his decision on entering or not. Another example is when Nakata talks to cats, finds answers from them, and makes a job to find the missing cats. Both of these events are impossible, but very realistic to the characters. The events are portrayed in a way that seem

Yugoslavia was made of 6 Republics and those were: Croatia, Montenegro ,Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Kosovo together with Vojvodina which at that time were recognized as provinces. After the death of Tito Yugoslavia began to demolish. The collapse of Yugoslavia began in 1980, and it continued until the 27th of April 1992, which in history is known as the date when Yugoslavia totally collapsed. In my opinion, the reason that the disintegration of Yugoslavia happened was because of the decline in absolute sovereignty. In this paper, I am going to talk about the definition of sovereignty, different perspectives about the disintegration of Yugoslavia from some authors and the decline in absolute sovereignty which led to the disintegration of Yugoslavia. This burgeoning technology is used in clothes, the medical field, for fitness/health applications and as fashion accessories. Now that smart phone innovation has slowed, the technology world is looking for a new gadget to put their interest and money into. Wearable technology could be the answer. One specific piece of wearable technology has enjoyed a recent spike in interest from technology enthusiasts. The smart watchis poised to become the next technological giant like the smartphone and tablet computer before it. Before renowned companies like Apple and Samsung entered the market in 2015, the smart watch market grew from simple calculator watches in the 70 s to what is essentially a wrist computer. The newest smart watches are beginning to encroach on the many desirable features found in smartphones such as text messaging, email, and other applications. Despite the growing list of features and even advantages these watches have over smart phones, they re not selling well. Within the next ten years smart watches will fade into obscurity; never becoming the ubiquitous technology some have envisioned them to be. In order to fully understand why smart watches are a failing technology it is important to realize all the reasons smart watches are heralded as the next technological innovation. The most immediately obvious is the size and shape of a typical smart

Compare And Contrast Max Weber And Fayol In this essay, I have chosen to discuss how Max Weber (1864 1920) and Henri Fayol (1841 1925) compare and contrast in their ideology and contributions to the field of management. Max Weber focused on how to structure an organisation to become successful. He developed six main elements to promote this success, which he considered would develop efficiency. He called it bureaucracy. Bureaucracy has its advantages and disadvantages, it was considered to be both rational and efficient (Tiernan, Morley, 2013, p. 17), but for example Weber s rather strict division of labour also led to workers becoming bored and unmotivated. The six elements that he created were; Division of labour, Hierarchy, Selection, Career orientation, Formalisation and Impersonality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two have been compared and contrasted above throughout and from that we can deduce they exclude the concept of the external environment effecting an organisation, which is not the case. This is why there is no one theorist with the complete solution to success in an organisation, but both of these men have hugely affected the work place for everyone since their work has been recognised. They agree upon the importance of the division of labour, the idea of a hierarchy and rules within an organisation. In contrast to this they handle such matters as equity and impersonality, which are similar concepts, very differently as stated. Fayol was more personal than Weber; he embraced team work and initiative in employees. These points I have brought up show a clear comparison yet slight contrast between the theorists, and I have shown this throughout as to how they have contributed in the field of
