THE GENERAL PROPERTIES OF PROTEOBACTERIA AND ITS TYPES
An expedition through endocrinology
1.
2. Robert K. G. Temple believes that the study of
endocrinology began in China. In China two men
made the observation in 1889 that removing the
pancreas led to an increase in blood sugar, that
followed by a coma and eventual even death. This led
to the conclusion that diabetics need insulin to strive.
The endocrine system is the body's network of nine
glands all over the body. The glands of of this system
include the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, thymus,
pancreas, pineal, adrenals. Each of these glands
release hormones (chemical messengers) into the
blood stream. Once hormones enter the blood, they
travel throughout the body and are detected by
receivers that recognize specific hormones. These
receivers exist on target cells and organs.
4. Hyperparathyroidism
-Hyperparathyroidism is when the 4 organs located
on your thyroid produce too much of the hormone
“Parathyroid.”
Hypoparathyroidism
-Hypoparathyroidism is when the 4 organs located on
your thyroid produce to little of the hormone
“Parathyroid.”
