2. Actress and Casting
The actress we are going to use will be me for three
reasons:
1- I fit the age bracket used for our target audience and I also have
straight dark hair and a similar build to the original artist, our audience
have stated they would like our artist to resemble the original.
2- I already have a similar style to the original artist, my clothing and
music taste is similar so it would mean that we wouldn't have to buy
clothes for the sake of the video.
3- I have experience when filming in music videos as I was the artist in a
friends music video at GCSE level.
4. Clothing
- The actress will wear mostly black clothing for the party, she will be
wearing a black playsuit with large scale fishnets and black doc
martens to go along with the edgy/alternative look. We have also
decided to dress her in an oversized denim jacket.
- For casual clothing in the kitchen scenes the artist will be wearing
black skinny jeans/leggings and a black hoodie to go along with our
chosen image. From our Poll daddy results we learnt that our
audience wanted our artist to look like the actual artist of the song
(K-Flay) so we took inspiration from her clothing shown on the mood
board on the previous slide.
6. Hair and Makeup
-The original artist (K-Flay) wears minimal makeup and since we
are taking inspiration from her look we have decided our actress
will also follow this image.
-We have decided our artist needs to have pale skin with dark
hair and eyebrows like K-Flay so we have decided light makeup
and filled in eyebrows, potentially eyeliner to give her more of an
edgy look however K-Flay doesn't’t always use this approach.
-For hair our artist will have straight brown hair to go along with
the image of K-Flay.
8. Props
-For props, we decided we needed a lot of alcohol bottles to
portray the image that our artist is a struggling alcoholic and drug
addict. Since I work at a bar, I was able to bring home lots of
empty alcoholic bottles to use in the back of shots and to film for
close ups.
-We are going to purchase fake blood to create the nose bleed
scene.
-Also for the pills, we will just use basic ibuprofen/paracetamol to
create the idea that they are illegal drugs.
10. Location
-The first of our locations is Ruislip Social Club, a bar local to us
which has a hall where they show tribute bands weekly. To create
the idea of a party we thought it would be best to go see a tribute
band as they are usually quite popular, the particular band we are
going to go to is Bob Marley which has sold out with 300 people
attending. It has smoke machines and lights so will best create
the atmosphere of a party.
-For the kitchen scenes we will be using Tanya’s kitchen, for the
scene against the wall, we will use a wall down a street close to
us.
