2. Synopsis Introduce character: Steve begins sane and doing everyday things. Stalker (George) who keeps leaving clues about himself and then Steve becomes paranoid. George reports Steve to a psychiatrist and then gets taken to a mental asylum. Steve tries to escape because he is convinced he’s not mental. The film ends with him never being found which leaves the possibilities to make a second film which could create more of a buzz.
3. Genre The Genre we have chosen for our film is a psychological thriller. A psychological thriller would stereotypically be set in a remote place. The narrative would include people who suffer with mental or emotional disorders.
4. Target Audience As you can see from this table our main target audience is 15-24 year olds. This is the same age as our typical viewer and he is called Mike. Mike is a 20 year old man and he enjoys playing football. Mike likes using social media such as Facebook. We are therefore going to use social media like Facebook to promote our film. By doing this we cannot only gain the attention of our viewer Mike, but also many other people like Mike in his age group. We care a lot about Mike because we need to ensure that we gain his attention so he comes to see the film when it is released and that we keep him up to date with our teaser trailer and the full trailer so that he still has interest in the film.
5. Wider Campaign For our wider campaign we are going to use the social networking site, Facebook. We are going to use Facebook because this is the most commonly used social networking site for this age group. We are planning to grab the audience’s attention through this site by setting up a fan page for the movie which will have information such as the teaser trailers on it as well as some hints towards things within the movie. We are also going to have a little advertising link showing on the right hand side of the Facebook home screen which will take you to the home page. Our target audience spends on average 9 hours a week on social networking sites, so marketing on here would be very beneficial.
6. Unique Selling Point The USP point for ‘Sanity’ is that we are breaking stereotypes by the way we have casted our film. Instead of sticking with the normal conventions. The way we are using a male characteras the psychologically affected patient it is breaking the conventions of a psychological thriller. Examples of the normal conventions of the Characters are like Jessica Alba in ‘The Eye’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaVjs1OAvRs
