The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Target audience
When finding your target audience you should conduct research on what people like your genre of
film and what sort of things they like in general. You can find this out by doing either primary or
secondary research:
Primary- this is where you question members of the public on things like their favorite film, their
favorite genre and what sort of things they enjoy.
Secondary- this is where you use existing audience profile data to decide how you are going to make
you film and what sort of audience is best for your film, what your target audience is.
3. Feedback from the class on rough cut screening
As a group we made our rough cut teaser trailer and watched them all as
a class. After this we got feedback from the class, this was to find out what our
audience thought of it and what we could improve on it. On the right
are a few pictures of our feedback sheets we got from the class. This helped us
with our audience research meaning we would know how to change or trailer
so our target audience would enjoy the film more and actually want to watch
it. The good things were most of the class where able to identify the genre and
what the film was about roughly, we also showed the class our poster and
magazine cover. In order for us to branch out and try to have girls and boys 15-
25 we added in different shots with a girl actually in it in order to make the
audience happy and add that element to our film. Below are a few shots where we
added in a love interest for one of our main characters
4. Our target audience for our film
• The main type of audience we are aiming to attract is
males aged about 15 -24 and 25 -34. However, we
still believe many people older than this will watch
the film too. We feel like this will appeal to men
more as the film is quite violent and action packed.
As it is set in 1930s America (New Orleans), we feel
like it will attract a large audience who are very
patriotic to America and want to learn a bit of history
about New Orleans and gangs. There are also
elements within the film which could attract the
female audience such as the romance between one
of the main characters and the drama within the
friendship and lives of the gang members and people
affected by them. The female audience are more
likely to watch this film if they go along with
boyfriends or husbands. Overall we aim to have an
audience of roughly 70% male and 30% female in
their teens to mid 30s.

5. Feedback
• How did we get the feedback? We got feedback on our rough cut screening from
the whole class by them watching it on YouTube and writing down their advice
and what they thought was good, also they could see our poster and magazine
cover so they gave feedback on that too. They then commented on the
comments page in YouTube for our final product of our teaser trailer. also they
could see our poster and magazine cover so they gave feedback on that too.
• How did we use this feedback? We used this feedback and altered our teaser
trailer by adding more clips having a love interest in it so it would hopefully be a
film that also appealed to women as well. also we changed our sound in the
trailer by making the speech parts slightly quieter and making the backing track
sound a bit better. We also made the shots look more old style by adding a edit
on each shot making it look darker and more old style.
• Was it useful? What insight did is give us? Overall it was helpful as it meant we
could improve all three of our products to better suits the needs of our target
audience. Also it meant that we were able to identify good things about each
product and also any bad things, which was helpful as we could then change
them quite easily to make it look better. Some parts of the feedback were very
brief which wasn’t helpful but overall it did help us improve our products.
• What does the final audience feedback suggest about the success of our
marketing campaign? Overall the final comments were quite good and people
seemed to want to watch the film which is good. This means that are marketing
campaign was successful as our target audience wanted to watch the film. Also
there were a lot of comments saying they understood the genre and what the
film was about.
