The main form of media it will use is Film, as the music video will be a motion picture.
Rationale:
Using what I learnt from the first project. I want to improve upon my last piece, im going to focus
more on the shots rather than trying to force a narrative. Im also going to invest in a better film
camera as I feel like the quality it was shot at before really let me down as it made it seem rushed
and not thought about. I want to spend time using edits and trying to create cool looking effects in
premiere.
Project Concept:
My concept is to create a music video to the song Post Humorous by Gus Dapperton. In the
style of the videos to all his other songs and that being they are filmed more like a short
film than a music video. The overall theme is going to be around Grief as that’s how I
personally perceive this song. The main theme to the video will be set inside a tv. This will
be the supposed feeling of being trapped and that it is out of your control when something
this severe happens and it'll show different signs and stages of grief throughout. The story
pattern will not linear asit won't have a set order and will just feature certain parts when it
feels right, matching up to certain lyrics.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
The main evaluation for me will be the self-evaluation as my main goal is to create something I am
happy with as well as get a passing grade. As im using this song as my perception of it, it may only
make sense to me. Other than that I could potentially send a copy and a short survey to a small list
of people who would fit my target audience.
