your audience?

2. Who was your target audience and why?
For our film opening our target audience is 15-30 years olds
who enjoy murder mystery's and horror. We have given our
opening this age range as people under 15 may find some of
the shots disturbing and they may not be suitable for under
15 year olds. We also didn't aim for the target audience to
be above 30 year olds because we found that older people
would find it less interesting and they have less time as they
might work and have a family.

3. What was within your media product that
appealed to them?
As we based our opening on another film called The
Lovely Bones we knew that we could attract our
target audience as the other film that we used was
the genre of horror and mystery. As we had used
techniques from the film it shows that people who
are interested in horror and mystery would definitely
find our opening appealing. Some techniques that
we used would definitely appeal to them such as the
setting we shot which was an empty creepy field and
props we used such as blood which is common for a
horror or mystery film. Using these convections in
our opening means that are target audience would
see this and instantly be drawn to it.

4. Feedback?
We created a basic questionnaire based off our opening and got 50 people to
answer honestly about how they felt about our film opening after they watched
it . The people asked were in the target audience age range. We asked these
questions to get a general feedback from people who are our target audience.

5. Conclusion from feedback given?
(Part 1)
• From the questionnaire responses we got, we got a
good idea on if our film opening did appeal and
attract our target audience. Overall a majority said
they would watch it again which is a good sign that
the opening did catch their attention. Most people
said they would want to carry on watching which
again is more proof that the opening and target
audience we chose worked well together. A lot of
people really enjoyed the ending were things became
clear and the drama became more present. They liked
the use of the dead body and the blood used which
shows the props used to create the theme of horror
to appeal to the target audience was a success.

6. Conclusion from feedback given?
(Part 2)
Improvements include people saying that there should've been more
drama and clues to who did it to add to the tension. This feedback
helped us as we could see that are target audience likes the genre so
much that they demand more. When asked who they would
recommend the opening to mostly everyone agreed and said that they
would recommend to a friends which shows us that are age range was
correct as people above the age of 15 saying that people they know
who are the same age would also watch it. Overall the feedback we got
showed us a lot about if we appealed to our audience and if we
addressed and satisfied them.
