Mba Shoe Company
As the father of three extremely talented amateur basketball players, including one who will be selected high in this year's upcoming NBA Draft,
I have decided to make a brand out of our family and design our own basketball shoe that my sons will wear in the NBA. The brand is called BBB
(Better Baller Brand). The major shoe companies are interested in signing my oldest son to a shoe deal where he would promote their brand in the
NBA. However, I see immense potential in my sons and a possible brand to start on my own. Now I will take meetings with theses companies and
license out my shoes to them so they can sell them for me while still maintaining control over the direction and design of my company. The main
thing that I am after is shelf space. I need to have my shoes in stores for customers to buy on hand. The three major shoe manufacturers (Nike,
Adidas, and Under Armour) control that shelf space. Selling shoes online only is not optimal in this industry as many customers still rely on getting
a new pair of shoes at the store. But why would any of these companies give up valuable real estate to promote a product they don't even own?
Simply my shoes are the best. People will want to wear these shoes. The amount of buzz surrounding these shoes will make people flock to them and
they can either get on board and make some money off... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It may cost them only a few dollars to make a single pair of shoes yet they can sell them for a few hundred. Mine will not. My shoes will be
constructed in factories that pay their workers fair wages and work hours. Now the price of my shoes will be higher than other top of the line shoes
but this is my critical point, that the major shoe companies practices of sweatshop labor is not tolerated within BBB. We are a family operation that
prides itself on making quality products that continue to push the boundaries of the game we love,

Preface
Ecco is a Danish shoe manufacturer and retailer founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy in Bredebro in Denmark. Ecco shoes are sold in more than 90
countries. The company has expanded its operations into markets worldwide.
Applying relevant theories, we made a research on how Ecco can be profitable in Turkish market. By doing this project we combined market research
and use of methods to do a project. Our target audience of the project is teachers and marketing students.

When they start their own factory in Turkey they need local employees and they can give them good salaries and for example a pair of Ecco shoes.
Product lifecycle
Growing stage
ECCO is a well–developed company. Each step they take they try to improve every stage in the value chain. They are very efficient and you can
see this in their increasing sales. They got companies all over the world and one main objective is minimizing their costs. They do this by example
having companies all over world instead of exporting their goods. This will help ECCO reduce taxes on export goods. They can do this in Turkey by
creating their own factory and have local employees.
Value chain
Ecco controls the entire value chain from cow to customer. One of Ecco's most important raw materials is high–grade leather and that is the reason
why they have operated their own tanneries in the Netherlands, Thailand and Indonesia for many years. The tanneries help ensure that the important
raw material is always in compliance with Ecco's tough quality standards. Ecco's tanneries are among the world's leading suppliers of high–quality
leather for car and airplane seats, gloves, bags and shoes manufactured by other companies. In order to meet the growing demand, they initiated the
construction of a tannery near the factory in Xiamen, China in October 2007. The tannery, which will be one of the worlds's most advanced tanneries

Rhetorical Analysis Of Gravity Defyer Shoes
Rhetorical Analysis of Gravity Defyer Shoes
Gravity Defying Footwear has put to use certain rhetorical techniques in their advertizing campaign, which can be seen in publications like
"Automobile" and "National Geographic." Their primary question: "Shoes on Steroids?" This advertisement has been circulating since 2005; the shoe
was designed by a man named Alexander Elnekaveh, "an inventor, engineer and entrepreneur who has designed and developed hundreds of original
inventions" (Alexander). He holds patents for numerous gadgets, innovation, and unique products around the globe. Although his most well–known
design to date is Gravity Defyer shoes, a pain relieving footwear that uses advanced technology to help prevent injury and aid in rehabilitation.
Elnekaveh led a team of experts from various fields, labeled as the Impact Research Technology Group. Elnekaveh produced the first Gravity Defyer
shoe in 2004. Since 2005, Gravity Defyer shoes have been unlike any other shoe on the market. As a result in 2005 Gravity Defyer was introduced to
the world through "Gadget Universe" and "Skymall" catalogs. Now that you have some background on the product and the person behind the shoes;
Elnekaveh sets to point out the benefits of his latest invention in this magazine advertisement, however, the consumer still has to wonder if his shoes
live up to the hype, with reasoning, credibility and emotional claims Elnekaveh will try to prove to the consumer that these shoe are the next big thing
since "Nike".
An audience who is used to typical shoe slogans such as Nike's "Just Do It," might be particularly surprised when they see Gravity Defyers'
advertisement, which features a steroid–filled syringe jabbing into their product. Elnekaveh was most likely attempting "brand advertising," which does
work in some way. Many companies use advertising slogans to establish a brand identity in the mind of the consumer. Nike's famous "Just do it"
campaign advertises fitness as the company's brand identity. State Farm Insurance's tagline, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there," advertises
stability as the company's brand identity. Neither ad campaign advertises a specific product or service. Both advertise the brand and by using this

Capstone Project – Critical Risks Assessment and Milestones Schedule Johnson's Shoe Emporium & Repair Shop ("Johnson's") is a high–end retail
shoe store for men. The store will sell dressy and casual shoes, ankle boots and other accessories for men. The purpose of Johnson's is to sell
non–athletic shoes of the highest quality so that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shoe industry does not seem to be affected by the state of the economy as some of the other industries and it seems to be able to operate on
lean overhead when compared to its competitors. The store is located in a downtown area where it will be available and easy accessible to the
clientele it is trying to serve. At the present time, it is the only store of its kind within a 10 to 15 mile radius. Johnson's is able to offer shoes made of
genuine leather and not pleather, vinyl, or some of the other synthetic products giving their shoes superlative advantages over other shoes.
Threats
The use of substitutes in the footwear industry is very high because of the large number of companies and similar products in the industry. There is a
great deal of rivalry and the customers' bargaining power is high. If the store experiences a large demand for unusual small or large sizes not kept in
stock and cannot fill these request within a reasonable time frame customers could stop patronizing the store. If competitors with similar business
models locate in the same area this could pose problems for the shoe store. If Johnson's misjudges the path of current fashion and over stocks shelves
with the wrong products, this could cause problems in moving merchandise.
Contingency Plans
A business contingency plan is a back–up plan which will be instituted in case the original plan should not be successful. The purpose of the plan is to
make it possible

Free Equipment Research Paper
Free equipment for student athletes can help the less fortunate students become more competitive and fit in with the others on the team. Some students
have a disadvantage of not having enough money to be involved in their schools sports teams. If the less fortunate students would have a little help
when it comes to equipment and shoes, there might be more students for the teams. Shoe companies should be able to help out students with their shoe
and equipment needs. Some students can't necessarily afford equipment or shoes and can't play, some athletes that do play can't afford reliable
equipment or shoes. She companies should be able to give shoes and equipment to school athletes. If shoe companies want to participate in giving free

They could start to work on their reputation by giving unfortunate schools or unfortunate students free equipment. The only time a company should
hand out equipment or shoes is if the student or the team really needs it. If the company decides to go for schools that can afford all of their
equipment and shoes, it kind of defeats the purpose of helping the less fortunate. If a family really is poor and they have a student who really does
wants to play a sport, the student should prove that he/she really does want to play. The family should be able to prove that they can't afford the
equipment. After they prove that they do need all of that, they should be put into a drawing with all of the other unfortunate athletic students.

This allows the employees to give a faster and more accurate service. After the customer begins trying on shoes, the associate goes back to check on
the customer and delivers the critical actions for the try–on stage. This stage is very important because the company has determined that sixty–four
percent of customers who try on shoes make a purchase. The associate begins by complementing their selection. This can change the sixty–six percent
to eighty–eight after a customer receives follow–up. The associate then offers the customer a second style or a matching accessory to increase the units
per transaction. Once the customer picks the products they want to buy, the associate offers to take the shoes to the registers which are at the front of
the store, where the Check–out stage begins. In the beginning of the transaction a customer is asked for personal information such as name, address,
and email address that is input in to the registration system in the support process. This data is stored and used for marketing purposes and comes up
every time the customer shops in the store, allowing for a more personalized service. The cashier then proceeds by checking that the correct shoe mates
are taken. This is done verbally to reassure that the customer is taking what they want and to avoid any returns. Underneath the registers, are shoelaces

This could be both advantageous and detrimental to the company. The advantage would include the ability to look at the successes and operations

also provide a competitive advantage. Production Needs: Approximately four million of the shoes produced by New Balance are manufactured and

How Nordstrom's Company Establish A Competitive Advantage...

Nordstrom was co founded in 1901 by John W. Nordstrom and his partner Carl Wallin. At age 16, John W of Sweden left his home and moved to
Alaska where he struck gold. During his time in Alaska, John met Carl Wallin, who owned a shoe repair shop in downtown Seattle. A partnership was
formed between the two and they opened the shoe store Wallin &Nordstrom. The company's philosophy was based on exceptional customer service,
selection, quality and value. This focus helped the company establish a competitive advantage in the shoe market. The company was very successful

The company needed to change its marketing strategy and further its market penetration to remain successful. Beginning to take action in 1973, the
company opened the first Nordstrom Rack. This store was a clearance store for full–line store merchandise. The higher prices in the regular store
targeted the upper segment of society, while the Rack allowed Nordstrom to orient itself to a completely new customer base. By 1975, the company

The new millennium offered the company several new partnerships. The company owned Faconnable, an upscale European apparel collection for men

My Shoe Company For This Simulation Project Is Bauer, Inc.
My shoe company for this simulation project is Bauer, Inc. In this paper we will go over multiple aspects of my company. We will go over a situational
analysis (SWOT analysis) of Bauer, Inc., strategic marketing mix (product, place, price and promotion strategies), mission statement, target market, and
marketing objectives. First, let us look at my situational analysis of Bauer, Inc. A strength of Bauer, Inc. is that we've been growing. From period's–1
to 0, we were able to increase our net profit by 50%. Another strength is in period 0 we were able to enter into the domestic market. This step helped
our company sales from periods –1 to 0. One weakness of Bauer, Inc. is that we have been showing loss the last two periods. In period –1 our net profit
was –2.4 million dollars and in period 0 it was –1.2 million dollars. A second weakness is Bauer, Inc.'s product is currently a base version model.
Consumers will not want to buy a low quality shoe. An opportunity for Bauer, Inc. is that the athletic shoe industry is a huge industry. The industry is
made up of over $70 billion dollars worldwide and Bauer, Inc. can tap into that. An additional opportunity is that there are multiple markets to enter into
(domestic and foreign). This will allow Bauer, Inc. to sell our shoes to multiple and larger markets and increase our sales. A threat of Bauer, Inc. is that
there are 10 other competitors in the athletic shoe industry that can potentially take market share from us. Another threat

Shoe Companies Persuasive Essay
Shoe companies could help out so many kids to play the sport they love if they donate shoes and equipment to high school athletes. There are some
students that don't get to play a sport because they don't have the money. Shoe companies would be doing a great thing by donating shoes and
equipment to a school that needs it. Students should be able to enjoy their high school years even if they can't afford some things. Shoe companies
should be able to give away free shoes and equipment to high school athletes.
With shoe companies being able to give away free shoes and equipment, this could give the kids who can't afford it, a fair chance to play. Some people

English Globalisation Assignment : Slaves Of Fashion Essay
English Globalisation Assignment Year 10 2016 Hamish Watson Slaves of Fashion Slavery, shoes and society are all linked through the
entrepreneur's buzzword, Globalisation. Society is engrossed with unnecessary entropy, superfluous shoes and slavery. The prospects of
globalisation drown out the screams of those stabbed with the short end of the stick; the workers. These impoverished people are forced to work
in slave like conditions on products they could never afford. Society's need for labels, combined with manufacturer's need for money, drive the
modern day slave ring. The multinational conglomerate that uses child labour and disadvantaged people to make a profit needs to be called out.
These practices cannot continue, but we must act now. The sweatshops erected in disadvantaged villages have the goal of bringing jobs, income
and a stable economy. In fact, they do the opposite. The factories are outdated, under maintained and the people that work there are under paid. In
one of the Indonesia factories, the housing of the workers is lined with open sewers. In wet season, water levels can rise driving raw sewage into the
homes of the workers. The workers live in housing quarters, similar to slums, in groups. Up to 10 people share one bathroom, one kitchen, one
laundry and often share sleeping quarters. These hardworking, underprivileged and abused people live on just $1.25 USD a day. After paying rent,
transportation, water and electricity the people are left on about 7,000

Case Study : Charleston Shoe Company Essay
CSC, or better known as Charleston Shoe Company to the general public, is a local comfort brand that sells stylish shoes to women. CSC is a specific
lexis that only members of Charleston Shoe Company would understand. This feature is defined by John Swales, who defines a discourse community
in his book Genre Analysis. CSC recognizes that many women have problems with their feet, which can include bunions, high insteps, and plantars
fasciitis. The Charleston shoes have elastic uppers so that the shoe can form to the foot, which makes them extremely comfortable while they remain in
style. While the members of Charleston Shoe Company may seem like a regular group of people, in reality, it is a tight knit discourse community.
According to John Swales, a discourse community has six identifying characteristics, all in which need to be present to decide if a community is a
discourse community. The six characteristics include: Common goals, a system of intercommunication between members, participation that leads to
information and feedback, one or more genres of communication, a specific lexis and a balance between levels of expertise (471–3). It was important
that Swales created a definition of discourse community because all previous definitions were either too vague or were not clear in how to identify a
discourse community (469). Now that it has been properly defined, one can see that discourse communities and rhetoric have a direct correlation.

this pump, I was thrown off by the fact that the company named this color camouflage because I would have never thought of that by looking at this
particular shoe due to the colors. The platform in this pump is 2 inches and hidden, it also has a rounded toe. All the materials in this shoe from the

women sizes 5–10. This shoe is perfect to add edge and glitz to any simple outfit or to spice up an outfit for the nighttime. There is no limit to when,
where and how this shoe can be worn. The final shoe I investigated is the MASTRO in the color bright multi. This is a 4.5inch heel stiletto. The
bright multi pattern could be described as a splattered paint type of print. The colors on the shoe consist of lavender, pale pink, white, gray, baby blur

The Athletic Shoe Industry Is Made Up Of Companies That...
Executive Summary
Introduction
The athletic shoe industry is made up of companies that produce footwear for athletic use. This is a strong industry and has been around for over 100
years. The athletic shoe industry is one of the fastest growing footwear industries and have top growing sales compared to other footwear industries
(NDP Group, 2016). The key players that currently dominate the market are Nike, Adidas, and Puma (Kates & Bolduc, 2013). This paper will use the
porter five forces, industry life cycle, and the key players to understand the industry. Over these years the athletic shoe industry has grown into a
competitive market.
Porter's Five Forces
The athletic shoe industry will be first analyzed by the Porter's Five Forces framework. The well–known Porter's Five Forces is a model that analyzes
an industry and helps firms develop a business strategy. The five forces model focuses on six forces that will determine the attractiveness of this
industry: (1) the risk of entry by potential competitors, (2) the intensity of rivalry among established companies within an industry, (3) the bargaining
power of buyers, (4) the bargaining power of suppliers, (5) the closeness of substitutes to an industry 's products, and (6) the power of complement
providers (Hill, Jones, & Schilling, 2015).
The Risk of Entry by Potential Competitors
The threat of new entrants in the athletic shoe industry is very weak. Currently the market is dominated by three major competitors, and

Their management know–how that they have developed over the years united with their learning curve allows them to dominate this industry (Athletic
Footwear: Industry Analysis). The second threat is the threat of rivalry, which is the intensity of competition among a firm's direct competitors, is high
for this industry. The main factor of the competitiveness of the industry is due to the fact that industry rivals compete aggressively against one another
for vital market share. The athletic shoe industry is very old and companies must focus on market share rather than concentrating on market growth.
The athletic footwear market is expected to grow at a continual annual growth rate of 1.8% from 2011 to 2018 to reach 84.4 billion by 2018 (PRWeb).
Non–athletic footwear is the largest market segment and is expected to grow faster than the athletic footwear sector. Various fashion trends in the
market, such as demand for innovative designs and styles and celebrity endorsement, is driving the non–athletic footwear market (PRWeb). This new
trend in the footwear industry makes the way companies compete vary vastly from company to company. Innovative companies such as Nike strive for
product differentiation as well as massive marketing strategies, but other brands such as Sketchers attempt to capture the low budget appeal. 70% of
the market share is made up of the top five players which include Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Puma and New Balance (PRWeb). Other key companies are

Why Is Nike the Biggest Training Shoe Company in the World
Athletic shoes have become a basic part just about everyone 's wardrobes. This is due to both the increasing numbers of people exercising and the
trend towards casual apparel. One of the most popular brands in the world is Nike. Competition is strong at all levels within the industry, especially
among the leaders. However, Nike has successfully differentiated from these competitors. This essay will concentrate on what makes Nike shoes
standing out from the rest. Starting from making running shoes, Nike had branched out rapidly into an assortment of other sports as well as leisure

The most important areas of product development like research and design align with the Nike objective to "innovate and inspire". The company has
completed countless hours of tests on how the human body moves. It is continuously making new discoveries that improve the products and its
performance ability. Technology is a top priority with Nike. As technology is based on time, to have successful technology programs the company has
to know what the world will want tomorrow and what resources will be needed. And it appears that Nike always has something new on the horizon.
The company digs into any niche related to sports, including technological breakthroughs, retailing, sports management and sports promotion.
Depending on what information that they take in, they can make a product that will suit the current times as well as times to come. One of the best
examples is the Air concept developed by Nike В– Air sole which contains pockets of pressurised gas increasing trainers ' comfort. As a result of
devoting vast resources to the research and development, Nike continues to be the leader of quality products. The strategy, Nike uses to keep costs
down is to contract with manufacturing companies located in countries where labour costs are cheap. In general, the manufacturing companies are
located further from most customers, resulting in higher distribution costs. However, the financial benefits of outsourcing far outweigh costs of

Nike's Company Strategy Is A Clever One
Strengths
Company owns no factories: Nike's company strategy is a clever one. While still in school at Stanford, the founder Phil Knight thought that instead of
paying Americans to put together Nike's shoes, Knight believed that it would be best to take their manufacturing plants oversees, to places where the
labor would be immensely cheaper than in the United States, for example South Korea and Taiwan. With 86 percent of Nike's products being
manufactured in one of the aforementioned countries and Nike employing a large number of people who lived there, both countries shared in the riches
until the founder decided prices were too high to manufacture there anymore.
Global Market Leader: The footwear and sportswear industry causes constant demand for new footwear technology around the world and no
company has maintained a share in every major market around the world, like Nike. Nike has the chance to go to countries like India, where the
economies and social statuses of people are changing and growing to allow for companies like Nike to sell their products. Despite all of the
opportunities Nike has in the industry, competition has been strengthening and the market of fake goods has been growing within the past ten years.
Innovative Culture: The culture of inventing new things is a strong core competency for the Nike brand. The things left for the future by such
invention of new things in search of better, lighter, faster product performance changes and

Impact Of Globalization
Abstract Certainly, everyone should hear about globalization often from somewhere, but do you know what accurately mean? Globalization is a very
serious international issue. Globalization is the "process of interdependence among the international countries and human, not only including the

Price and Quality
First of all, if you take a look in your closet, surely that each pair of shoes you own is unique in some way. But they all likely have one thing in
common: They were made somewhere far, far away. Footwear ranging from sneakers to dress shoes flip flops to work boots, is made in places like
Vietnam, Nicaragua, and of course China. And made cheap too. Let shop for a new running shoes. For example,Nike air max 90 new color cost $160,
but I got one same style shoes but different color from Nike factory outlet which only cost $35. When you compare prices in the store, all you are

interview process, I landed with a job at G.H. Bass & Co, a retail store that's devoted to selling shoes. I become a sale associate, but it wasn't until

firms such as CROCS or ECCO succeed in this global market? Datamonitor points out that this industry is highly competitive and that rivalry between

However, depending on one propriety product which is easily imitated and making changes to an industry's supply chain does not add up to an enduring

Bags come in boxes that manufacturers use for shipping via small package delivery to a fragmented base of retail customers. But shoes ship to
retailers in bulk packaging rather than individual boxes ( (Laseter, Rabinovich, & Huang, 2006)). So when companies like eBags use drop–ship order
process, there is an additional shipping cost to the manufacturer to repackage shoes and ship shoes to the customer. Shoes have a short product life
cycle and also suffer a high return rate. Some customers order more than one pair with an idea to return the pair that does not fit. Thus shoes carry a
much higher cost–to–serve and selling them online requires a different business model. A comparison of a potential acquisition candidate for eBags in
footwear, Shodeni, shows that the SKU count is very high for shoes compared to luggage or bags and eBags should be extremely efficient if it has to
handle that high SKU. eBags should add call centers to handle calls from customers in addition to support through the website. They should continue
with the strategy of having manufacturers send the shipment directly to the customer.

Mba Shoe Company

  • 1. Mba Shoe Company As the father of three extremely talented amateur basketball players, including one who will be selected high in this year's upcoming NBA Draft, I have decided to make a brand out of our family and design our own basketball shoe that my sons will wear in the NBA. The brand is called BBB (Better Baller Brand). The major shoe companies are interested in signing my oldest son to a shoe deal where he would promote their brand in the NBA. However, I see immense potential in my sons and a possible brand to start on my own. Now I will take meetings with theses companies and license out my shoes to them so they can sell them for me while still maintaining control over the direction and design of my company. The main thing that I am after is shelf space. I need to have my shoes in stores for customers to buy on hand. The three major shoe manufacturers (Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour) control that shelf space. Selling shoes online only is not optimal in this industry as many customers still rely on getting a new pair of shoes at the store. But why would any of these companies give up valuable real estate to promote a product they don't even own? Simply my shoes are the best. People will want to wear these shoes. The amount of buzz surrounding these shoes will make people flock to them and they can either get on board and make some money off... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It may cost them only a few dollars to make a single pair of shoes yet they can sell them for a few hundred. Mine will not. My shoes will be constructed in factories that pay their workers fair wages and work hours. Now the price of my shoes will be higher than other top of the line shoes but this is my critical point, that the major shoe companies practices of sweatshop labor is not tolerated within BBB. We are a family operation that prides itself on making quality products that continue to push the boundaries of the game we love, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When they start their own factory in Turkey they need local employees and they can give them good salaries and for example a pair of Ecco shoes. Product lifecycle Growing stage ECCO is a well–developed company. Each step they take they try to improve every stage in the value chain. They are very efficient and you can see this in their increasing sales. They got companies all over the world and one main objective is minimizing their costs. They do this by example having companies all over world instead of exporting their goods. This will help ECCO reduce taxes on export goods. They can do this in Turkey by creating their own factory and have local employees. Value chain Ecco controls the entire value chain from cow to customer. One of Ecco's most important raw materials is high–grade leather and that is the reason why they have operated their own tanneries in the Netherlands, Thailand and Indonesia for many years. The tanneries help ensure that the important raw material is always in compliance with Ecco's tough quality standards. Ecco's tanneries are among the world's leading suppliers of high–quality leather for car and airplane seats, gloves, bags and shoes manufactured by other companies. In order to meet the growing demand, they initiated the construction of a tannery near the factory in Xiamen, China in October 2007. The tannery, which will be one of the worlds's most advanced tanneries from a production and environmental point of

  • 4. Rhetorical Analysis Of Gravity Defyer Shoes Rhetorical Analysis of Gravity Defyer Shoes Gravity Defying Footwear has put to use certain rhetorical techniques in their advertizing campaign, which can be seen in publications like "Automobile" and "National Geographic." Their primary question: "Shoes on Steroids?" This advertisement has been circulating since 2005; the shoe was designed by a man named Alexander Elnekaveh, "an inventor, engineer and entrepreneur who has designed and developed hundreds of original inventions" (Alexander). He holds patents for numerous gadgets, innovation, and unique products around the globe. Although his most well–known design to date is Gravity Defyer shoes, a pain relieving footwear that uses advanced technology to help prevent injury and aid in rehabilitation. Elnekaveh led a team of experts from various fields, labeled as the Impact Research Technology Group. Elnekaveh produced the first Gravity Defyer shoe in 2004. Since 2005, Gravity Defyer shoes have been unlike any other shoe on the market. As a result in 2005 Gravity Defyer was introduced to the world through "Gadget Universe" and "Skymall" catalogs. Now that you have some background on the product and the person behind the shoes; Elnekaveh sets to point out the benefits of his latest invention in this magazine advertisement, however, the consumer still has to wonder if his shoes live up to the hype, with reasoning, credibility and emotional claims Elnekaveh will try to prove to the consumer that these shoe are the next big thing since "Nike". An audience who is used to typical shoe slogans such as Nike's "Just Do It," might be particularly surprised when they see Gravity Defyers' advertisement, which features a steroid–filled syringe jabbing into their product. Elnekaveh was most likely attempting "brand advertising," which does work in some way. Many companies use advertising slogans to establish a brand identity in the mind of the consumer. Nike's famous "Just do it" campaign advertises fitness as the company's brand identity. State Farm Insurance's tagline, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there," advertises stability as the company's brand identity. Neither ad campaign advertises a specific product or service. Both advertise the brand and by using this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will go over a situational analysis (SWOT analysis) of Bauer, Inc., strategic marketing mix (product, place, price and promotion strategies), mission statement, target market, and marketing objectives. First, let us look at my situational analysis of Bauer, Inc. A strength of Bauer, Inc. is that we've been growing. From period's–1 to 0, we were able to increase our net profit by 50%. Another strength is in period 0 we were able to enter into the domestic market. This step helped our company sales from periods –1 to 0. A second weakness is Bauer, Inc.'s product is currently a base version model. Consumers will not want to buy a low quality shoe. An opportunity for Bauer, Inc. is that the athletic shoe industry is a huge industry. The industry is made up of over $70 billion dollars worldwide and Bauer, Inc. can tap into that. An additional opportunity is that there are multiple markets to enter into (domestic and foreign). This will allow Bauer, Inc. to sell our shoes to multiple and larger markets and increase our sales. Society is engrossed with unnecessary entropy, superfluous shoes and slavery. The prospects of globalisation drown out the screams of those stabbed with the short end of the stick; the workers. These impoverished people are forced to work in slave like conditions on products they could never afford. Society's need for labels, combined with manufacturer's need for money, drive the modern day slave ring. The multinational conglomerate that uses child labour and disadvantaged people to make a profit needs to be called out. These practices cannot continue, but we must act now. The sweatshops erected in disadvantaged villages have the goal of bringing jobs, income and a stable economy. In fact, they do the opposite. The factories are outdated, under maintained and the people that work there are under paid. In one of the Indonesia factories, the housing of the workers is lined with open sewers. In wet season, water levels can rise driving raw sewage into the homes of the workers. The workers live in housing quarters, similar to slums, in groups. Up to 10 people share one bathroom, one kitchen, one laundry and often share sleeping quarters. These hardworking, underprivileged and abused people live on just $1.25 USD a day. CSC is a specific lexis that only members of Charleston Shoe Company would understand. This feature is defined by John Swales, who defines a discourse community in his book Genre Analysis. CSC recognizes that many women have problems with their feet, which can include bunions, high insteps, and plantars fasciitis. The Charleston shoes have elastic uppers so that the shoe can form to the foot, which makes them extremely comfortable while they remain in style. While the members of Charleston Shoe Company may seem like a regular group of people, in reality, it is a tight knit discourse community. The six characteristics include: Common goals, a system of intercommunication between members, participation that leads to information and feedback, one or more genres of communication, a specific lexis and a balance between levels of expertise (471–3). It was important that Swales created a definition of discourse community because all previous definitions were either too vague or were not clear in how to identify a discourse community (469). • 36. Nike's Company Strategy Is A Clever One Strengths Company owns no factories: Nike's company strategy is a clever one. While still in school at Stanford, the founder Phil Knight thought that instead of paying Americans to put together Nike's shoes, Knight believed that it would be best to take their manufacturing plants oversees, to places where the labor would be immensely cheaper than in the United States, for example South Korea and Taiwan. With 86 percent of Nike's products being manufactured in one of the aforementioned countries and Nike employing a large number of people who lived there, both countries shared in the riches until the founder decided prices were too high to manufacture there anymore. How can firms such as CROCS or ECCO succeed in this global market? Datamonitor points out that this industry is highly competitive and that rivalry between firms is strong. By building the infrastructure ahead of demand CROCS was able to capitalize on the unexpected explosion in their product's popularity. However, depending on one propriety product which is easily imitated and making changes to an industry's supply chain does not add up to an enduring value–adding vision that sustains a brand through normal economic cycles. They work towards this vision with passion as Neilson points out that they "remain extremely committed to comfort, design and a perfectly fitting shoe." But shoes ship to retailers in bulk packaging rather than individual boxes ( (Laseter, Rabinovich, & Huang, 2006)). So when companies like eBags use drop–ship order process, there is an additional shipping cost to the manufacturer to repackage shoes and ship shoes to the customer. Shoes have a short product life cycle and also suffer a high return rate. Some customers order more than one pair with an idea to return the pair that does not fit. Thus shoes carry a much higher cost–to–serve and selling them online requires a different business model. A comparison of a potential acquisition candidate for eBags in footwear, Shodeni, shows that the SKU count is very high for shoes compared to luggage or bags and eBags should be extremely efficient if it has to handle that high SKU. eBags should add call centers to handle calls from customers in addition to support through the website. They should continue with the strategy of having manufacturers send the shipment directly to the customer. European Expansion: The European market was considered to be just as highly fragmented as the US Market and luggage retailers mainly consisted of small, family–owned stores with many limitations. These stores didn't meet the demands of many customers who were looking for a wider array of selection and styles. In Europe,
