MAY FLOWERS – The flowers are blooming and God‟s love for us shows in the wonderful colors of the season. May
you feel welcomed here and surrounded by the love of Jesus. We ask visitors to let us know you were here by filling out
the Fellowship Pad (it‟s in the hymnal rack) with today‟s date, your name, address, phone number, etc.
BAPTISM – Conner Lawrence Jeffords, infant son of Ryan and Jennifer Jeffords, will be brought into the Lord‟s family
at Our Saviour during the 10:45 am service on Sunday, May 2.
REFRIGERATOR NEEDED – Have you noticed the empty spot in the parlor? If you would like to make a cash
donation to purchase a new refrigerator to fill that spot, please contact Tom Proulx or the office.
SCRIP – SCRIP sales for the month of April were over $20,000! Did you know that 50% of the profit of the SCRIP you
purchase can go towards your child‟s tuition at OSL Preschool, Green Bay Trinity Elementary or into your child‟s youth
account at OSLC? If you participate in Smart Tuition at Trinity, you get a rebate for your SCRIP purchases. Stop by the
welcome desk on Sundays or see Michelle in the office for more information.
PRESCHOOL – Early registration will determine what classes will be held in fall. We are taking registrations NOW for
the 2010-11 school year--MWF (8:30-11:30) for 4/5-year-olds--T-TH (8:30-10:30 or 12:30-2:30) for 3-year-olds. (Note:
A minimum number of students are needed to run any class). Call Christina, Preschool Director, at 468-3596.
FAITH BUILDER/ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASS – Our Faith Builder/Adult Confirmation classes are in full
swing. Members, come to refresh what you learned years ago. Classes will be held Wednesdays thru May 26 (6-7:30pm).
OLAN MILLS – It you haven‟t yet, please schedule your pictures TODAY for our upcoming church directory. The sign
up sheets are by the Welcome Center. Your family, including non-members, is welcome to come with you. Additional
pictures can be purchased; a purchase is optional. All participants receive a complimentary (free) church directory and
8x10 portrait. If not signed up by today, expect a call from Olan Mills to set an appointment. If you have caller ID, the
call will come from a 423 area code. This is not a telemarketing call and we hope that you will work with the caller to
find an agreeable time to join us and be involved in the upcoming member directory here at Our Saviour.
SOFTBALL – The softball season begins May 16. We‟ll have practice TODAY and also 5/9 from 2:00 until 4:00pm at
NEW Lutheran High School's softball field. I look forward to seeing everyone there to prepare for the upcoming season.
Based on current sign-ups, we will have TWO teams this year…but some extra personnel are needed. Another one or two
females are needed for the more competitive Division 1 team and a manager/scorekeeper is needed for the Division 2
team. Please contact Coach Dash (Steve Rusch) at 406-9077. Thanks. - Coach Dash
DON’T TOSS IT…DONATE IT – Bring all that „no longer needed but still good stuff‟ to Our Saviour for our „Kids
Only‟ sale on May 15 (donations requested by May 9) or the Super Sale on August 21 (no clothes, please). Bring your
donations to the church office weekdays; „Kids Only‟ donations (clothes, too) can be brought to the nursery on Sundays.
SERVANT SUNDAY POTLUCK – Bring your best potluck dish and a smile as we thank and honor our many servants
(volunteers) who donate their time and talents to OSLC. WHEN? May 16th at 10:30am (NO 10:45 am service).
AN EXTRA SPECIAL SWEET MONDAY ON MAY 3 – We're going to have a tea party, and I need help! For this
Sweet Monday, we need most people who are attending to bring things with them. Things to bring: your own tea cup and
saucer, a finger food to pass (can be sandwich like or sweet), and an appetite. You don't need to eat before you come!
Food ideas: mini cupcakes, scones, cookies, finger sandwiches, etc. If you want to bring extra things, feel free (like a
tablecloth, small plates, a fancy hat, a friend, or neighbor.) Set up at 7pm; ready to eat by 7:30. No fancy clothes needed!
ST. JOHN SHELTER CLOSES FOR THE SEASON –“Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and
give you something to drink? Then the King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these
brothers of mine, you did it for me.” Matthew 25:37,40. Thanks to the efforts and donations of 16 members of Our
Saviour (and those who donated money), this ministry has had a successful season. 280 complete meals were prepared
and served to the guests at the shelter – from November through April. The guests really appreciated the wonderful meals
as well as the interaction among those who served the meals. A note from one of the guests: “I am very grateful to the
staff and the MANY volunteers who give their time and more to provide myself and others a safe and clean alternative
during our desperate times of need. I am amazed at the dedication of all involved and thankful for the abundance of
kindness I see every day. If it were not for the shelter, I would still be living in my car, stuck in a rut instead of moving
forward and becoming a productive member of the community again. We (the residents of the shelter) can never express
enough of our gratitude to everyone for all their help and support. The shelter has truly been a blessing! Thank you all!”
KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS – Caroline Arndt will lead us. This is the perfect way to learn to knit! Experienced
knitters are also invited. You must sign up on the office bulletin board for May 10 at 1:00 or May 12 at 6:30 p.m. (meet at
Caroline's home: 1945 Mills St. Apt. 558.) Be sure to give your phone number. Caroline will contact you about supplies.
Children must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult; this is a great mother/daughter activity!
LWML MEETING ON MAY 10 – Christ of the Bay's LWML has invited us to attend their Spring Salad Supper at 6:00
(note the time change). You will need to RSVP to Sharon at 469-1504 ASAP. If you need a ride, let Stephenie know. All
ladies from OSLC are invited (be sure to RSVP!) The theme is tropical, so you can dress in luau attire. Fun!
WOMEN'S ONLINE MISSION NOTES – Check out what our women in mission have been doing by visiting the
LWML blog @ http://oslclwml.blogspot.com. Via Facebook, search Lutheran Women in Mission and our page pops up.
COMING TO OSLC – Vacation Bible School will be held June 28-July 1 from 9am to noon. Look for the registration
forms soon. One form is needed per family. Parent/adult and student (grade 6 and above) volunteers will also be needed.
RUN, MR. LUEPKE, RUN – Jeff Luepke has been training hard all winter and will be running the 26.2-mile Cellcom
Green Bay Marathon on Sunday, May 16th to benefit Green Bay Trinity Lutheran School. He needs your help to meet his
goal of raising $5,000 to assist with scholarship opportunities for deserving students. Please consider making a tax-
deductible donation to support his efforts during this 8th annual fundraiser and call him at 265-3192 or e-mail him at
kluepke@new.rr.com with your pledge. Thanks from Jeff and everyone at Green Bay Trinity Lutheran School!
A TASTEFUL EVENING AT THE HILL – N.E.W. Lutheran High School's 3rd Annual "A Tasteful Evening at the
Hill" starts at 6pm on Friday, May 7. Please join us for a wonderful evening at Heritage Hill to benefit N.E.W. High
School. Fine wines and microbrewery beers will be available for sampling, along with hors d'oeuvres and lots of fun!
Purchase tickets ($35/person or $60/couple) by calling 469-6810. Please promote this event at work, with, friends, etc.
LUTHERAN SCHOOLS NIGHT WITH THE BULLFROGS – TUESDAY, JUNE 8TH 7:05 P.M. – Let's take over
the stadium! Get a $25 value for just $10 (Admission, Bullfrogs hat, hot dog and soda voucher). Order tickets online at
www.frogsgroups.com. Take a flyer from the NEWLHS board in the office hallway.
THRIVENT MEMBERS UNITE – If you are a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, please take the insert from
today‟s bulletin home. Make sure to vote in the new „Thrivent Choice‟ program. If you have questions, please call
Michelle in the church office. If just 15% of all Thrivent members vote by May 21, Thrivent Financial will donate an
additional $1,000,000 to the selected charities. Make your vote count for even more!
LIFE QUOTE – “Are you pregnant? Maybe you are struggling with a decision about what to do. Remember there is
hope and help! Abortion is not the easy solution. Choose life for your baby. God will walk with you. He can bring
Christian friends to support you. But, you need to reach out for help. Call and let someone know you need assistance…
You can also call Word of Hope at 888-217-8679. And remember LFL is here to serve and help too.” Kay L. Meyer,
director of development for Lutherans For Life This “Life Quote” is from Lutherans for Life -www.lutheransforlife.org

  • 2. OLAN MILLS – It you haven‟t yet, please schedule your pictures TODAY for our upcoming church directory. The sign up sheets are by the Welcome Center. Your family, including non-members, is welcome to come with you. Additional pictures can be purchased; a purchase is optional. All participants receive a complimentary (free) church directory and 8x10 portrait. If not signed up by today, expect a call from Olan Mills to set an appointment. If you have caller ID, the call will come from a 423 area code. This is not a telemarketing call and we hope that you will work with the caller to find an agreeable time to join us and be involved in the upcoming member directory here at Our Saviour. SOFTBALL – The softball season begins May 16. We‟ll have practice TODAY and also 5/9 from 2:00 until 4:00pm at NEW Lutheran High School's softball field. I look forward to seeing everyone there to prepare for the upcoming season. Based on current sign-ups, we will have TWO teams this year…but some extra personnel are needed. Another one or two females are needed for the more competitive Division 1 team and a manager/scorekeeper is needed for the Division 2 team. Please contact Coach Dash (Steve Rusch) at 406-9077. Thanks. - Coach Dash DON’T TOSS IT…DONATE IT – Bring all that „no longer needed but still good stuff‟ to Our Saviour for our „Kids Only‟ sale on May 15 (donations requested by May 9) or the Super Sale on August 21 (no clothes, please). Bring your donations to the church office weekdays; „Kids Only‟ donations (clothes, too) can be brought to the nursery on Sundays. SERVANT SUNDAY POTLUCK – Bring your best potluck dish and a smile as we thank and honor our many servants (volunteers) who donate their time and talents to OSLC. WHEN? May 16th at 10:30am (NO 10:45 am service). AN EXTRA SPECIAL SWEET MONDAY ON MAY 3 – We're going to have a tea party, and I need help! For this Sweet Monday, we need most people who are attending to bring things with them. Things to bring: your own tea cup and saucer, a finger food to pass (can be sandwich like or sweet), and an appetite. You don't need to eat before you come! Food ideas: mini cupcakes, scones, cookies, finger sandwiches, etc. If you want to bring extra things, feel free (like a tablecloth, small plates, a fancy hat, a friend, or neighbor.) Set up at 7pm; ready to eat by 7:30. No fancy clothes needed! ST. JOHN SHELTER CLOSES FOR THE SEASON –“Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? Then the King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.” Matthew 25:37,40. Thanks to the efforts and donations of 16 members of Our Saviour (and those who donated money), this ministry has had a successful season. 280 complete meals were prepared and served to the guests at the shelter – from November through April. The guests really appreciated the wonderful meals as well as the interaction among those who served the meals. A note from one of the guests: “I am very grateful to the staff and the MANY volunteers who give their time and more to provide myself and others a safe and clean alternative during our desperate times of need. I am amazed at the dedication of all involved and thankful for the abundance of kindness I see every day. If it were not for the shelter, I would still be living in my car, stuck in a rut instead of moving forward and becoming a productive member of the community again. We (the residents of the shelter) can never express enough of our gratitude to everyone for all their help and support. The shelter has truly been a blessing! Thank you all!” KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS – Caroline Arndt will lead us. This is the perfect way to learn to knit! Experienced knitters are also invited. You must sign up on the office bulletin board for May 10 at 1:00 or May 12 at 6:30 p.m. (meet at Caroline's home: 1945 Mills St. Apt. 558.) Be sure to give your phone number. Caroline will contact you about supplies. Children must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult; this is a great mother/daughter activity! LWML MEETING ON MAY 10 – Christ of the Bay's LWML has invited us to attend their Spring Salad Supper at 6:00 (note the time change). You will need to RSVP to Sharon at 469-1504 ASAP.
