FALL FOR JESUS – The colors of fall in the Upper Midwest, in my opinion, are some of the best things given to us by
God. May the color of His of love lead you to seek His guidance in all circumstances. We ask visitors to let us know you
were here by filling out the Fellowship Pad (it’s in the hymnal rack) with today’s date, your name, address, phone #, etc.
NURSERY AND SUNDAY SCHOOL ARE OPEN – Sunday School registration forms are in the office hallway; please
complete and send it to class with your child (children age 4 to 6th grade are dismissed to class after the children’s sermon
at the 9:15 service). The nursery in the basement is open 9am to 10:30am for those toddling thru age 3; ask an usher if you
need assistance. Check out our new pager system which will quietly alert you of any issues while you are in church.
ADOPT-A-BILL BOARD REPORT – Thank you to all who helped with the Adopt-A-Bill Board during the summer.
The over $8,000 we received helped us with bills during the summer months. The Board is being retired for now and,
hopefully, won't have to reappear....let's prayerfully consider our weekly unified offerings and needs to meet our budget
requirements to do the Lord's work in His House.
COME TO YOUTH NIGHT! – Did you hear? Youth night is back! It starts every Wednesday at 3:00pm.
Confirmation students (and 6th graders) can stay until 6:00pm. Senior High youth are welcome until 7:30pm (or
later…talk to Pastor Greg for details). Have fun, get homework help and have a delicious, $3 meal without any “I’m
gonna be late!” worries. Youth Night is available on Confirmation Class nights only; check the weekly bulletin calendar
above to make sure there is Confirmation Class on the night(s) when you plan to come!!
2. 2011 OFFICER/BOARD NOMINATIONS NEEDED – Please notify President Mike Charles if you can nominate
someone for one of the following positions: President-Elect (3 year term); Treasurer (Gay Pivonka is willing to stay);
Evangelism Board Chair (current chair is leaving); Stewardship Board Chair (Rich Ryman is willing to stay); Trustees
Board Chair (current chair is leaving). The President Elect serves 3 years (Elect, Current and Emeritus); all other positions
are 2 year terms. (NOTE: The election is scheduled for December 12 at 10am; please put it on your calendar.)
ALL SAINTS DAY WORSHIP AND POTLUCK – Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Or are you well past
grief, yet so very grateful for the loved ones that have left you? Your pastors are offering a Service of All Saints. That
worship service will be on Monday, November 1st at 6:00pm (All Saint's Day). Bring memorial flowers if you like. Join
us for a very casual potluck in the gym at 5pm, preceding the worship service. Bring your family or friends, or come alone
with your memories! Let’s give those loved ones back to the Creator and give thanks for their lives among us.
ONE MAN’S TRASH…IS OUR TREASURE – Please collect Coke Points, used cell phones, empty prescription pill
bottles, Box Tops for Education, Labels for Education, specially marked milk caps (Morning Glory, Kemps and Kwik
Trip), Capri Sun pouches, Tyson A+ certificates, empty ink jet cartridges, and aluminum cans. Place items in the
containers by the Preschool entrance or under the coat rack in the office hallway (place cans in the garage drop door).
YOUR UNUSED COUPONS ARE NEEDED – We send manufacturers’ coupons to military families overseas who use
them at the BX. Please place in the marked box in the office hallway. Coupons can be expired up to two months. For more
details, please contact Michelle in the office at 468-4065. Please help us make these packages a blessing to the receivers.
BIG STUFF COMING – November: Confirmation Exam on 7th at 10:45am; Confirmation at 10:45am and Loyalty
Sunday on 14th. December: NEWLHS Cantata on 5th at 7:45am; Annual Voters’ Meeting on 12th at 10am.
PACKERS RUNNERS – 20 runners are needed for the Packers home games on Oct 24 and Nov 7 (these are night
games). Signup sheets are faxed on Monday. An online alcohol service test is required. Call Neil (866-9088).
We don’t change the message; the message changes us.
LOYALTY SUNDAY - Do you remember Loyalty Sunday? That is where we make our annual re-commitment to the
Lord’s work here and our sacrificial gifts toward that cause. In the next issue of the Voice you will see a Loyalty Sunday
Pledge form. All things on there are confidential, between you and the Lord. You need not place your name on this
pledge. Please give prayerful consideration to the gifts God has given you, and then note your response to the Lord with
your gifts of time, talent and treasure. We have a faith-based budget here, therefore what the family of Our Savior places
on their pledge cards plays a role in crafting the church budget.
BAPTISM SEMINAR – All new parents who desire their child to be baptized at Our Saviour are asked to attend a
Baptism Seminar with your child’s intended sponsors. Our next meeting is on Saturday, November 13 from 10-11am.
If you are expecting a new addition to your family or are already a new parent and plan to have your child baptized at Our
Saviour, please call the office at 468-4065 to RSVP to attend this required meeting.
ORDER A LUTHERAN STUDY BIBLE – The 2010 Fall Bible Sale is underway. The order form is on the bulletin
board in the office hallway. Take advantage of special savings on various covers, styles, sizes, etc. Orders are due by
November 30. Bibles make great gifts for many special occasions.
TRINITY FUNDRAISER – October 18th is the deadline for new or renewal magazine subscriptions. Forms are at the
Welcome Center or contact any Trinity student, parent or teacher. They make great Christmas gifts; place your order now!
CONFIRMATION EXAM – NOVEMBER 7 – The Confirmation Class of 2010 will demonstrate their faith and
knowledge of it during the third morning service on November 7th. Come and witness these fine young folks during this
public examination, a Lutheran tradition prior to their Confirmation the following week. This is as Lutheran as Jell-O at a
potluck. Come and enjoy this historical event!
CHRISTMAS SERVICE TIMES: DECEMBER 24, FOUR SERVICES – The Christmas worship times have a new
addition to our Christmas Eve service line-up. We are pleased to announce a 1:30pm Praise Service that afternoon! This
will allow more options for families who are traveling or having an early evening event. Our 3:30pm Praise Service, 5:30
and 7:30pm services will be there as well, giving everyone four service time options.
CANTATA – December 5 at 7:45am - Lutheran High’s Cantata is coming to Our Savior on Sunday December 5th at the
early service. Come on, crawl out of bed and early and fill the house for this special concert-like worship service!
“BLAZIN IN THE SON” IS BACK! – Come to enjoy food and fun, and support NEWLHS at this annual dinner/auction
at the Stadium View on Sat, Nov. 13th. Silent auction at 4pm, chicken/tenderloin tips dinner at 5:30, live auction follows.
Expect loads of exciting items to bid on! $30/adult or $15/student (advance table of 8 for $200 ($40 off). To attend or
donate, contact Kristin (469-6810). Tickets available at church on Sunday.
PASTOR SCHUMM TO BE INSTALLED – Zion-Oneida will install their new Pastor at 2:00pm on Sunday, October
24. Everyone is welcome to attend. A gathering and reception in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service
EVERY KID TO CAMP NEWS – The “Every Kid to Camp” ministry “Fall 50” run takes place on Saturday, Oct. 23,
2010, in Door County. Dr. Mike Sheehan, a Wausau Physician, an active LCMS member and my friend, is running the
50-mile Ultra-Marathon. Every dollar donated will go to the “Every Kid to Camp” Ministry to send kids to Camp Luther
who have never been there before. What a great blessing! Donations for next year’s EK2C auction are also currently
being taken. Please contact Lee Belmas at lee@nwdlcms.org. He is putting out a challenge to all the men’s and women’s
groups to donate an item or two for the auction. Are you up to the challenge?
LIFE QUOTE – “We trust that God is in charge of this world as He has been since He created it (Genesis 1:1). He has
given each of us a ministry to speak the truth in love to our families and friends, in our churches and even to our
politicians! Let’s be faithful to the calling He has given us. God can use us to do great things!” Diane E. Schroeder,
president of Lutherans for Life This “Life Quote” is from Lutherans for Life - www.lutheransforlife.org
