APRIL SHOWERS – Don‟t get all wet outside, come on in to Our Saviour and dry off under the SON. We ask visitors
to please fill out the Fellowship Pad (it‟s in the hymnal rack) with today‟s date, your name, address, phone number, etc.
Please come worship again!
CHILDREN – The nursery (take the elevator to LL and turn left; you can‟t miss it) and Sunday School (dismisses from
the 9:15am service after the Children‟s Lesson) are ready for your child today during the 9:15 am service. Children‟s
bulletins, for ages 3-6 and 7-12, can be found in the Narthex. If you need assistance, please ask an usher.
NURSERY HELPERS – Jr. and Sr. youth are asked to volunteer to work in the nursery with an adult supervisor and play
with the 1-4 year olds during the 9:15 service. If you acolyte at the early or late service, stop by around 9am and ask if
help is needed. All Jr and Sr high youth are encouraged to help. Contact Mike (337-0940 or charles5832@sbcglobal.net).
SCRIP UPDATE – The SCRIP desk will be back in business today. Please stop at the Welcome Center and get your gift
cards to use during your next shopping trip or vacation. Cards on hand most times include all area major grocery stores,
all major gas stations, discount/department stores, restaurants and more.
PRESCHOOL – Early registration will help us to determine what classes will be held in fall. We are taking registrations
for the 2010-11 school year--MWF (8:30-11:30) for 4/5-year-olds--T-TH (8:30-10:30 or 12:30-2:30) for 3-year-olds.
(Note: A minimum number of students are needed to run any class). Call Christina, Preschool Director, at 468-3596.
„EXPELLED‟ BIBLE STUDY BEGINS TODAY – Paul Steinhaus, science teacher at NEWLHS, is here to lead a Bible
study regarding the freedom of speech and inquiry within the scientific community as it relates to Biblical authority. The
discussion will be centered around Ben Stein's recent movie "Expelled." The movie will be viewed for the first 3 weeks.
The discussion will then conclude the fourth week with an example of this freedom revolving around the "hot" topic of
global warming. This discussion is geared toward adults however high school youth are strongly encouraged to come and
join in. This study will be held in our parlor Sundays at 9:30 and 10:30 am until May 2.
PORTALS OF PRAYER – The new April-June issue is in the Narthex. Pick up yours today. Large print in the office.
OLAN MILLS – Please sign up to have your family‟s picture taken at Our Saviour for our new pictorial directory on
May 11-14 (3-9:30pm), May 15 (10-5pm) or June 1, 28 or 29 (3-9:30pm).; sign up sheets will be in the Heritage Hallway
until May 2. Your entire family, including non-members, is welcome to come with you. Additional pictures can be
purchased and is optional. All participants will receive a complimentary (free) church directory and 8x10 portrait.
FAITH BUILDER/ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASS – Our Faith Builder/Adult Confirmation classes started last
week but it‟s not too late if you are still interested. Classes will be held Wednesdays from April 7 thru May 26
(6-7:30pm). The first class included a Talk n‟ Tour. Please RSVP by calling Michelle in the office at 468-4065.
IT‟S SOFTBALL TIME – Softball... green grass, blue skies, the crack of the bat and cheers of the crowd. Makes me feel
warmer already. Once again, I would like to try to field two teams, our regular Division 1 team as well as a Division 3
team (for those who don't like the competitive nature of the upper division). Please let me know if you are interested in
playing so that I can arrange with the league to add the second team (if there is enough interest). Contact Steve or Julie
Rusch at 406-9077 or email us at ruschs@sbcglobal.net or sign up on the sheet across from the office. We look forward to
another year of fun and fellowship with you. Thanks - Coach Dash
RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS NEEDED – Can‟t wait to get to your spring cleaning done and get that stuff out of
your way? Bring your donations to the church office. The „Kids‟ Only‟ sale is on May 15; donations are requested by May
9. The Super Sale date is August 21; we take the kitchen sink and lots of other items but no clothes, please. For the „Kids
Only‟ sale, donations (we DO take CLOTHES for this one) can also be brought to the nursery on Sunday mornings.
LADIES LUNCHEON PLANNED FOR MAY 1st – The Evangelism and Fellowship Boards of OSLC have teamed up
to bring you the 2nd Annual Ladies‟ Luncheon. Our speaker for this special event is Jennifer Grogh. Doors open at
11:30am. The cost is $12 per person; reservations are needed by April 22. Please stop by the office or mail your
check with the names of those who will be attending. Invite your mom, sisters, nieces, etc. and plan to have a grand time!
ARE YOU A LAY READER HERE AT OSLC? WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE ONE? – All current and future readers
are encouraged to come to a one hour Reader Training Seminar taught by professional radio and television announcer, Bill
Cole. You will learn about pausing, inflections, breathing and much more. Please call the church office to reserve your
seat for April 26th from 6:30-7:30pm and join us in the Sanctuary. We are particularly hopeful to train the Sunday School
children who read at the last Christmas program. Mom and Dad, how about bringing them?
ATTN: ALL VOLUNTEERS – All Servant/Volunteer Sunday will be held on May 16th at 10:30am. You are invited to
bring your best potluck dish and join us in honoring those that keep OSLC running by donating their time and talents. The
regular 10:45 am worship service will not be held that day so that everyone can come and enjoy this fellowship event.
CONSIDER „SIMPLY GIVING‟ – This Easter season, Our Saviour thanks those individuals and families that support
the church throughout the year with their time, talent and financial contributions. We also extend a warm welcome to
many new and returning congregation members and hope that you, too, will be generous with your time and contributions
in support of our work here at Our Saviour. To assist everyone in making the consistent offerings that are so important to
Our Saviour, we ask you to consider making automatic, electronic donations through the Simply Giving program. Please
contact the church office (468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org) for more details.
RAISE YOUR VOICE – Does your copy of The Voice come each month by snail mail? Would you prefer to receive it
by email or just read it online? To change the way you receive The Voice, please call or email Michelle at 468-4065 or
info@oslc-gb.org. Please also notify the office when your mailing address, email address or phone numbers change.
SERVE OTHERS IN YOUR OWN WAY – All women members of Our Saviour are encouraged to attend the next
LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) meeting on Monday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the parlor. We are just
getting started, so this is the perfect time to jump in and try us out. Our main objective is reaching out to others. How do
we do that? It's really up to you! If you've always wanted to help serve at a homeless shelter, you can. If you prefer to
send care packages to missionaries overseas, go for it! You serve how you want. The group helps come up with
opportunities and supports one another in missions. Questions? Ask Stephenie: 264-8317 or stephhov@hotmail.com
HEAR YE, HEAR YE – Imagine a place that connects a member's needs, interests, talents, and passions. The Board of
Stewardship is developing such a place. To start it off, they are inviting every member to complete a fun and creative
inventory (survey). The information will be used within the congregation only, to allow members to use their gifts for the
Lord‟s work. It will be first available at the Olan Mills picture taking sessions, then the church office & Welcome Center.
REGISTER ONLINE FOR SUMMER CAMP 2010 – Register soon at www.campluther.com to ensure your first
choice week and village at our secure website. And don‟t forget to bring a friend who has never been to Camp Luther
before so you can both get a 20% discount!! There is something for everyone this summer – mothers and daughters, first-
time stay-over-night campers, grandparents and their grandkids and those looking for family fun over the Fourth of July!
LIFE QUOTE – “Your loved ones who died trusting Christ are at home with the Lord. They have been moved from
poverty-stricken lives to be possessors of a wealth that cannot be measured. We, too, can know that as the years fly by, we
have an eternity before us that knows no end… It took a cross and an empty tomb to give us a basis for our salvation. It
takes a divinely inspired Word that says, „Because He lives, I too shall live.‟ This is the message of Easter.” Rev. Homer
Larson, speaker on the Christian Crusaders radio program This “Life Quote” is from Lutherans for Life -

The discussion will then conclude the fourth week with an example of this freedom revolving around the "hot" topic of global warming. IT‟S SOFTBALL TIME – Softball... green grass, blue skies, the crack of the bat and cheers of the crowd. Makes me feel warmer already. Once again, I would like to try to field two teams, our regular Division 1 team as well as a Division 3 team (for those who don't like the competitive nature of the upper division). Please let me know if you are interested in playing so that I can arrange with the league to add the second team (if there is enough interest). Contact Steve or Julie Rusch at 406-9077 or email us at ruschs@sbcglobal.net or sign up on the sheet across from the office. We look forward to another year of fun and fellowship with you. Thanks - Coach Dash RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS NEEDED – Can‟t wait to get to your spring cleaning done and get that stuff out of your way? Bring your donations to the church office. You are invited to bring your best potluck dish and join us in honoring those that keep OSLC running by donating their time and talents. CONSIDER „SIMPLY GIVING‟ – This Easter season, Our Saviour thanks those individuals and families that support the church throughout the year with their time, talent and financial contributions. We also extend a warm welcome to many new and returning congregation members and hope that you, too, will be generous with your time and contributions in support of our work here at Our Saviour. To assist everyone in making the consistent offerings that are so important to Our Saviour, we ask you to consider making automatic, electronic donations through the Simply Giving program. Please contact the church office (468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org) for more details. RAISE YOUR VOICE – Does your copy of The Voice come each month by snail mail? Would you prefer to receive it by email or just read it online? To change the way you receive The Voice, please call or email Michelle at 468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org. Please also notify the office when your mailing address, email address or phone numbers change. SERVE OTHERS IN YOUR OWN WAY – All women members of Our Saviour are encouraged to attend the next LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) meeting on Monday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the parlor. We are just getting started, so this is the perfect time to jump in and try us out. Our main objective is reaching out to others. How do we do that? It's really up to you! If you've always wanted to help serve at a homeless shelter, you can. If you prefer to send care packages to missionaries overseas, go for it! You serve how you want. The group helps come up with opportunities and supports one another in missions. Questions? Ask Stephenie: 264-8317 or stephhov@hotmail.com HEAR YE, HEAR YE – Imagine a place that connects a member's needs, interests, talents, and passions. The Board of Stewardship is developing such a place. To start it off, they are inviting every member to complete a fun and creative inventory (survey). The information will be used within the congregation only, to allow members to use their gifts for the Lord‟s work. It will be first available at the Olan Mills picture taking sessions, then the church office & Welcome Center. REGISTER ONLINE FOR SUMMER CAMP 2010 – Register soon at www.campluther.com to ensure your first choice week and village at our secure website. LIFE QUOTE – “Your loved ones who died trusting Christ are at home with the Lord. They have been moved from poverty-stricken lives to be possessors of a wealth that cannot be measured. We, too, can know that as the years fly by, we have an eternity before us that knows no end… It took a cross and an empty tomb to give us a basis for our salvation. It takes a divinely inspired Word that says, „Because He lives, I too shall live.‟ This is the message of Easter.” Rev. Homer Larson, speaker on the Christian Crusaders radio program This “Life Quote” is from Lutherans for Life - www.lutheransforlife.org
