WELCOME TO 2011 – New and old visitors and friends are always welcome to worship with us. Please let us know
you were here; fill out the Fellowship Pad (it‟s in the hymnal rack) with today‟s date, your name, address, phone number,
etc. Please come and worship with us again in 2011!
EXPERIENCING JOY DURING A "CRUCIBLE EXPERIENCE" – Join us for our Bible Study class about deep
inner joy. What is a "Crucible Experience”? A time of suffering that produces a deep transformation on the inside. Come
and watch St. Paul share his deep inner joy during a time in the "crucible". We will be studying the book of Philippians at
9:15 and 10:30am on Sundays. (Sorry no class next week – February 6)
NURSERY AND SUNDAY SCHOOL – Children toddling to age 3 are invited to the nursery (9:15am service only) and
 ages 4 to grade 6 are welcome in Sunday School (children are dismissed to go to class after the Children‟s Sermon);
classes end at 10:30am. If you need assistance, please talk to an usher. If you need a registration form, they can be found
in the office hallway (in the tall brochure holder by the youth bulletin board).
PIZZA PRE-ORDER ENDS TODAY – Our youth and Kitchen Greg will be preparing fresh pizzas with your choice of
toppings as a fundraiser for your PACKERS/STEELERS Super Bowl party or even just your family. Order forms can be
found in today‟s bulletin or at the Welcome Center; one form per pizza please and we also ask that you pre-pay for your
entire order. Please put completed order forms and payment in the Youth Board mailbox. (Of course, there will be a
limited number of extra pizzas made that will be available for purchase…but when they‟re gone, they‟re GONE!)
LAST CHANCE! – If your offerings are recorded, your 2010 giving statement can be found in the Atrium. Statements
still here on Monday (Jan 31) will be mailed. You can save us $0.44 by taking yours home today.
HIS LOVE – OUR RESPONSE – Our theme for 2011 is “His Love–Our Response”. If you would like to lend a hand to
assist with events and accessories [Banners and such] to this theme, please tell Pastor Dave.
YOUTH NIGHT THIS WEEK – Come for homework help, to study and play and eat a great meal for just $3. Youth up
to grade 6 can stay until 6pm when 7th and 8th graders go to class; Senior High youth are welcome to stay until 7:30pm.
WANT TO BE A BAD GIRL? – This Spring, we will use the Really Bad Girls book, and you don't need to read the first
one first. Just jump in, if you're interested. You need to buy a book in advance; you can buy one on your own or let me
order one for you. We will use only the book (no workbook) and we're squeezing it into a shorter time, so we'll never have
a dull moment, I'm sure! Start date: March 9/Ash Wednesday (video and pick up books.) We will meet in the evening
between Lent services (services are at 4 and 6:30pm). More info coming soon. stephhov@hotmail.com or 264-8317
CHOIR REHEARSALS – They‟re back! We will start on Tues. Feb. 1 at 7:00. Please come sing with us as we prepare
music for the Lenten/Easter season. We can ALWAYS use more singers. Got questions? Call Judy O'Grady (469-0948).
ALTAR GUILD MEETING TOMORROW – All members and anyone interested in learning more about the Altar
Guild functions are encouraged to come at 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to serve without a huge time commitment.
Members sign up for one month a year and serve with another member for that month. We are always looking for more
people to join us. It is a great opportunity for young people to serve with a parent to learn about preparation of Holy
Communion and care of the Altar. Please join us; we look forward to seeing you. Questions, call Jill Proulx (465-1437).
WANT TO GO TO CAMP LUTHER…FOR FREE?!? – Camp Luther has offered 4 of their „Camperships‟ to Our
Saviour. If your child is in grade 3-8 and has NEVER been to Camp Luther for Summer Camp, he/she is eligible. For
your chance to win, sign up at the Welcome Center today! A random drawing will be used to determine the winners.
Winners will be announced on February 20 when a representative from Camp Luther is here.
NEED A MEANINGFUL PRESENT FOR SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE? – If you would like to purchase an
autographed copy of Cleared for Takeoff before they fly away, check in at the Welcome Center or at the church office.
The books are $12 each. All money goes directly to the author who was a jungle pilot for years. Very interesting stories!
ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS IN THE VOICE – We are now accepting new advertisers for our monthly newsletter,
The Voice. A business card sized space is available at a cost of $300 for one year or $25 per month. Please contact
Michelle at 468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org; ads can be seasonal/short-term if desired. All ads must be „print ready‟.
BAPTISM SEMINAR – All new or expectant parents who desire their child to be baptized at Our Saviour are asked to
attend a Pre-Baptism Seminar with your child‟s intended sponsors. Our next meeting is on February 19, 2011from 9-
10am. Are you expecting a new addition or are you already a new parent and plan to have your child baptized at Our
Saviour? Please call 468-4065 to RSVP to attend this required meeting.
WE WANT YOUR GREEN AND GOLD! – If you have any S&H Green Stamps or Gold Bond stamps in a drawer or
box somewhere, bring them to the office. After receiving a large donation of both, we looked for information on their
value. Although the value for each point is small, when put together into a pot, the amount can be something worthwhile
working to redeem. If you have any questions, please call Michelle in the office (468-4065).
THOSE MIGHTY MITES! – After 4 collections, your pocket change added up to $415.78! Thank you so much for
helping support the many mission projects. We will continue collecting Mites on the second Sunday of every month.
SWEET MONDAYS ARE BACK AND A BIG CHANGE IS COMING – Sweet Mondays will be better than ever
with the change, so we hope all the ladies mark their calendars to join us in the parlor on February 7! Arrive between 7
and 7:30pm; the program starts at 7:30. Beverages and sweets are provided. Just bring yourself, and be prepared for fun
and fellowship. Invite people who are not members at Our Saviour. This event is for all women. We will be done by 8:30.
OUR RECEIPTS, OUR BUDGET, OUR SHORTAGE – Unified Receipts for the first three weeks of January totaled
just $19,434.25. Our budget calls for $10,564.82 per week, so we are $12,260.21 short to budget. This comes at a time of
the year when utilities and snow plowing expenses are high. Anything you can do to help reduce this shortfall or to meet
our budget in the future would be appreciated.
GIVE A LITTLE – Our donation goals for 2011 are still the same. We are collecting food for the poor, prescription pill
bottles, cell phones and manufacturers‟ coupons; bins are on the 2nd floor just past the elevator, near the coat room. The
Box Tops, Labels for Education, Capri Sun, etc. cart remains in the main hallway by the Preschool door. Empty ink jet
cartridges can be placed on the cart by the Preschool door (as a donation to Trinity) or in the church secretary‟s mailbox
(as a donation to Our Saviour). And don‟t forget those Coke points for the Youth!!
STARTING THE NEW YEAR – Make a resolution to buy more SCRIP in 2011. This great fundraiser needs you to
make just one small change…buy ahead and use SCRIP for your purchases of groceries, drugs, gas, restaurants, and more
instead of using cash or credit card at the store. Check the list of SCRIP; orders placed on Sunday are ready for pick up
the following Sunday. Making a large purchase from Menards, Home Depot, etc.? If you have a large order, a special
order may be placed for you upon request; please talk to Julie Richter. Is your child going to enroll at OSLC Preschool or
Trinity? Ask about our Tuition Reimbursement plan. If you have questions, please call Julie at 339-9984.
RIGHT ON TARGET! – We have a new SCRIP gift card vendor…TARGET is available in $25 and $100. We have $25
cards on hand today. Stop by the Welcome Center to purchase these and other cards you need before you shop this week!
DISCOUNT CARDS FOR SALE – The N.E.W. Softball Team is selling discount cards for local businesses for $10.
Information about the card can be found on the office hallway bulletin board; you can use the card over and over again!
See Kellie Meerstein or call the church office. The money will be used to purchase softball apparel, bats, and softballs.
COUPONS FOR MILITARY FAMILIES – We have sent more than 30 pounds of coupons to a military base in
Incirlik, Turkey. We thank those who clip them but please be careful (don‟t cut too many at one time or clip too close…
the expiration date and bar code must be intact to be redeemed). Coupons expired up to two months are still acceptable!
RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS – Yes, we are still accepting donations for the 2011 „Kid‟s Only Sale‟ on May 21
and also the Super Sale to be held on August 20. Mark your calendar now so you won‟t miss this year‟s sales!!
Remember, no clothes for the Super Sale but kids‟ clothes and maternity clothes are requested for the „Kid‟s Only Sale‟.
CPR CERTIFICATION – Do you want to get certified in CPR or do you need to be recertified? If you have an interest
in either, please contact Michelle in the church office at 468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org as soon as possible. We hope to
have classes scheduled for March so call or email now.
MEMORIAL GIFT CARDS AVAILABLE – Are you looking for a way to memorialize a friend or relative? The
Gideons offers a sympathy card to send to the family with information on the donation you made to The Gideons in their
loved one‟s name. The cards include the donation form and envelope to mail your donation directly to The Gideons.
                                          LAST WEEK’S GIVING REPORT
(Our 2011 approved budget calls for $10,564.82 per week)

EXPERIENCING JOY DURING A "CRUCIBLE EXPERIENCE" – Join us for our Bible Study class about deep inner joy. What is a "Crucible Experience”? A time of suffering that produces a deep transformation on the inside. Come and watch St. Paul share his deep inner joy during a time in the "crucible". We will be studying the book of Philippians at 9:15 and 10:30am on Sundays. (Sorry no class next week – February 6) NURSERY AND SUNDAY SCHOOL – Children toddling to age 3 are invited to the nursery (9:15am service only) and ages 4 to grade 6 are welcome in Sunday School (children are dismissed to go to class after the Children‟s Sermon); classes end at 10:30am. If you need assistance, please talk to an usher. If you need a registration form, they can be found in the office hallway (in the tall brochure holder by the youth bulletin board). PIZZA PRE-ORDER ENDS TODAY – Our youth and Kitchen Greg will be preparing fresh pizzas with your choice of toppings as a fundraiser for your PACKERS/STEELERS Super Bowl party or even just your family. Order forms can be found in today‟s bulletin or at the Welcome Center; one form per pizza please and we also ask that you pre-pay for your entire order. Please put completed order forms and payment in the Youth Board mailbox. (Of course, there will be a limited number of extra pizzas made that will be available for purchase…but when they‟re gone, they‟re GONE!) LAST CHANCE! – If your offerings are recorded, your 2010 giving statement can be found in the Atrium. Statements still here on Monday (Jan 31) will be mailed. You can save us $0.44 by taking yours home today. HIS LOVE – OUR RESPONSE – Our theme for 2011 is “His Love–Our Response”. If you would like to lend a hand to assist with events and accessories [Banners and such] to this theme, please tell Pastor Dave. YOUTH NIGHT THIS WEEK – Come for homework help, to study and play and eat a great meal for just $3. Youth up to grade 6 can stay until 6pm when 7th and 8th graders go to class; Senior High youth are welcome to stay until 7:30pm. WANT TO BE A BAD GIRL? – This Spring, we will use the Really Bad Girls book, and you don't need to read the first one first. Just jump in, if you're interested. You need to buy a book in advance; you can buy one on your own or let me order one for you. We will use only the book (no workbook) and we're squeezing it into a shorter time, so we'll never have a dull moment, I'm sure! Start date: March 9/Ash Wednesday (video and pick up books.) We will meet in the evening between Lent services (services are at 4 and 6:30pm). More info coming soon. stephhov@hotmail.com or 264-8317 CHOIR REHEARSALS – They‟re back! We will start on Tues. Feb. 1 at 7:00. Please come sing with us as we prepare music for the Lenten/Easter season. We can ALWAYS use more singers. Got questions? Call Judy O'Grady (469-0948).
  • 2. ALTAR GUILD MEETING TOMORROW – All members and anyone interested in learning more about the Altar Guild functions are encouraged to come at 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to serve without a huge time commitment. Members sign up for one month a year and serve with another member for that month. We are always looking for more people to join us. It is a great opportunity for young people to serve with a parent to learn about preparation of Holy Communion and care of the Altar. Please join us; we look forward to seeing you. Questions, call Jill Proulx (465-1437). WANT TO GO TO CAMP LUTHER…FOR FREE?!? – Camp Luther has offered 4 of their „Camperships‟ to Our Saviour. If your child is in grade 3-8 and has NEVER been to Camp Luther for Summer Camp, he/she is eligible. For your chance to win, sign up at the Welcome Center today! A random drawing will be used to determine the winners. Winners will be announced on February 20 when a representative from Camp Luther is here. NEED A MEANINGFUL PRESENT FOR SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE? – If you would like to purchase an autographed copy of Cleared for Takeoff before they fly away, check in at the Welcome Center or at the church office. The books are $12 each. All money goes directly to the author who was a jungle pilot for years. Very interesting stories! ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS IN THE VOICE – We are now accepting new advertisers for our monthly newsletter, The Voice. A business card sized space is available at a cost of $300 for one year or $25 per month. Please contact Michelle at 468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org; ads can be seasonal/short-term if desired. All ads must be „print ready‟. BAPTISM SEMINAR – All new or expectant parents who desire their child to be baptized at Our Saviour are asked to attend a Pre-Baptism Seminar with your child‟s intended sponsors. Our next meeting is on February 19, 2011from 9- 10am. Are you expecting a new addition or are you already a new parent and plan to have your child baptized at Our Saviour? Please call 468-4065 to RSVP to attend this required meeting. WE WANT YOUR GREEN AND GOLD! – If you have any S&H Green Stamps or Gold Bond stamps in a drawer or box somewhere, bring them to the office. After receiving a large donation of both, we looked for information on their value. Although the value for each point is small, when put together into a pot, the amount can be something worthwhile working to redeem. If you have any questions, please call Michelle in the office (468-4065). THOSE MIGHTY MITES! – After 4 collections, your pocket change added up to $415.78! Thank you so much for helping support the many mission projects. We will continue collecting Mites on the second Sunday of every month. SWEET MONDAYS ARE BACK AND A BIG CHANGE IS COMING – Sweet Mondays will be better than ever with the change, so we hope all the ladies mark their calendars to join us in the parlor on February 7! Arrive between 7 and 7:30pm; the program starts at 7:30. Beverages and sweets are provided. Just bring yourself, and be prepared for fun and fellowship. Invite people who are not members at Our Saviour. This event is for all women. We will be done by 8:30. OUR RECEIPTS, OUR BUDGET, OUR SHORTAGE – Unified Receipts for the first three weeks of January totaled just $19,434.25. Our budget calls for $10,564.82 per week, so we are $12,260.21 short to budget. This comes at a time of the year when utilities and snow plowing expenses are high. Anything you can do to help reduce this shortfall or to meet our budget in the future would be appreciated. GIVE A LITTLE – Our donation goals for 2011 are still the same. We are collecting food for the poor, prescription pill bottles, cell phones and manufacturers‟ coupons; bins are on the 2nd floor just past the elevator, near the coat room. The Box Tops, Labels for Education, Capri Sun, etc. cart remains in the main hallway by the Preschool door. Empty ink jet cartridges can be placed on the cart by the Preschool door (as a donation to Trinity) or in the church secretary‟s mailbox (as a donation to Our Saviour). And don‟t forget those Coke points for the Youth!! STARTING THE NEW YEAR – Make a resolution to buy more SCRIP in 2011. This great fundraiser needs you to make just one small change…buy ahead and use SCRIP for your purchases of groceries, drugs, gas, restaurants, and more instead of using cash or credit card at the store. Check the list of SCRIP; orders placed on Sunday are ready for pick up the following Sunday. Making a large purchase from Menards, Home Depot, etc.? If you have a large order, a special order may be placed for you upon request; please talk to Julie Richter. Is your child going to enroll at OSLC Preschool or Trinity? Ask about our Tuition Reimbursement plan. If you have questions, please call Julie at 339-9984. RIGHT ON TARGET! – We have a new SCRIP gift card vendor…TARGET is available in $25 and $100. We have $25 cards on hand today. COUPONS FOR MILITARY FAMILIES – We have sent more than 30 pounds of coupons to a military base in Incirlik, Turkey. We thank those who clip them but please be careful (don‟t cut too many at one time or clip too close… the expiration date and bar code must be intact to be redeemed). Coupons expired up to two months are still acceptable! RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS – Yes, we are still accepting donations for the 2011 „Kid‟s Only Sale‟ on May 21 and also the Super Sale to be held on August 20. If you have an interest in either, please contact Michelle in the church office at 468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org as soon as possible. We hope to have classes scheduled for March so call or email now. MEMORIAL GIFT CARDS AVAILABLE – Are you looking for a way to memorialize a friend or relative? The Gideons offers a sympathy card to send to the family with information on the donation you made to The Gideons in their loved one‟s name. The cards include the donation form and envelope to mail your donation directly to The Gideons.
