There are several reasons to adopt a vegetarian yogic diet according to Sivananda Ashram in France, including health, environmental, ethical, and spiritual benefits. A vegetarian diet is considered natural as food comes from plants, efficient as it produces more protein and nutrients from less land, and sattvic as it promotes calmness according to yogic texts. It also reflects the yogic principle of ahimsa or non-violence by avoiding harming animals.
