3. IRNSS INTRO
1) IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System) or Navic is
an indigenous project with a constellation of 7 satellites.
2)Developed and Operated by ISRO under the govt. of india
3) first launch july 1, 2013 and last launch april 13, 2016 all satellites
are carried by PSLV .
4. Geostationary and Geosynchronous
Orbit
1) IRNSS has 3 satellites in the geostationary and 4 satellites in the
geosynchronous orbit
2) each satellites works on L5 and S spectrum
3) those are devided into 3 segments(space , ground, user)
5.
6. Space Segments
1)7 satellites in constellation and downlink signal
2) send signal to earth in two band ranges that are L -5 and S
3) navigation payload transmits SPS and RS signal
7. Ground Segments
1) IRNSS spacecraft control facility
2) ISRO navigation center
3) IRNSS ranges and integrity monitoring stations
4) IRNSS network timing center
5) IRNSS laser ranging station
6) IRNSS data communication network
8. User Segment
1)Specially designed receivers and antennas are needed to receive
the IRNSS signals.
The receivers are also planned for receiving multi-constellation
signals inclusive of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and IRNSS.
9. Future Application
Terrestrial, Aerial and Marine Navigation
Vehicle tracking and fleet management
Integration with mobile phones
Precise Timing
Mapping and Geodetic data capture
Terrestrial navigation aid for hikers and travellers
Visual and voice navigation for drivers/
10.
11. Conclusion
I conclude here by giving a few technica; aspect of the indigenous
satellite navigation system IRNSS developed by ISRO for the
standard positioning service accessible even by the general public
over a period of time.
