1. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Throughout the process of constructing this product, I’ve learned a lot about the use of
Photoshop. I had not had much experience with Photoshop before constructing this
product, other that when constructing my Preliminary task. This meant that I lacked
confidence with the use of Photoshop, which I feel is evident within my construction.
However, whilst constructing my product, my confidence with using Photoshop developed
along with my photo editing skills. I learned a lot more about the varying features of
Photoshop and how I could use these features to edit my images for my magazine. For
example, I learned how to make images black and white, which was something that I didn’t
know how to do before constructing this product. In addition to this, I learned how to
remove the background from an image, which I did with the main image on my front cover,
in order to instead place the image onto a plain background to inspire a minimalistic effect
which I received the inspiration for from “Rocksound” magazine during my research.
Therefore, I feel like I learnt quite a lot about technologies during the construction of my
product because Photoshop was what I used to construct my magazine and I feel as though
my skills with this software have developed since the beginning of constructing my product.
