Through the research and planning for
my final product my skills have improved
in a large number of ways. In both my
planning and research and in
construction of my final product

2. Research and Planning
• Through my planning and research I have gained
a better understanding of the professional
practice within media and how to do present my
work in a more professional manner.
• This has been very beneficial when doing my
planning and research as it has helped me remain
organised and made it easier when referring to
my work at later points in my work.

3. • I have also gained a much better understanding
of the forms and conventions of real media
products and media institutions.
• This has been increasingly helpful when doing my
planning and research as it has made it easier for
me to produce my work and gives me a basis to
model my products on. As apposed to my original
prelim when I had very little knowledge of the
professional forms and conventions.

4. • As well as this I also improved on my time
management by spending my free time
concentrating on my work.
• This allowed me to put more effort into my
product and therefore give me a better final
result.

5. Construction
• As I made the opening sequence of a horror
film I did a lot of camera work. This allowed
me to improve on my shot compensation and
editing abilities on Photoshop.
• This came in very useful as it helped to make
my film opening look more professional once I
had finished constructing my final product.

6. • I was also able to improve on my ability to
hold a steady shot when filming.
• This enabled me to get the shots I needed
with fewer retakes.

7. • Another area where I have made major
improvement from my original prelim is I have
been able to find better actors and locations
as apposed to my original prelim where it was
a lot more difficult to find appropriate
locations and willing models.
