1. QUESTION SIX
What have you learned about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
2. SETTING UP PHOTO SHOOT AND USING THE
CAMERA PROPERLY.
During my photo shoot for the main task of
making a magazine I used a professional
camera which was a Cannon Camera, by
doing this I was able to get high quality
original photos for my magazine.
At first, I had to be taught what each button
on the camera meant because I had never
used it before but then I had a practise
taking photos and started to feel more
confident with being able to take clear
photos of different types of camera angles.
I found it easy towards the end of the day
to use the camera and I felt as if I could do
this task again as I managed to gain a set
skills on how to use certain effects.
I included props in our photo shoot, I was
able to use Makeup, Sunglasses, Hats etc:
it added a bit more interest to the
magazine images and would make my
media product look more interesting.
The models that were used for my media
product were me and my friends we
managed to take images of each other in
groups and take images of people from
outside our group. The picture above is of me using the
camera with the set up background and
illuminating lights which lit up my friends
features for the clear view on the
camera and a sharp image.
Above is a picture of me using the
Cannon Camera again taking a picture
of one of my friends. I thought it would
be a good idea to have a different
person feature in my magazine.
3. USING PHOTOSHOP AND PAGE PLUS
In the beginning, I had no knowledge of how to use Photoshop during the time we had, I
managed to gain insight on how to edit my photos, such as sharpening certain images
and enhancing the brightness of them.
I had to use photoshop to be able to make the front cover of my magazine and I also
had to use it to be able to edit all my pictures for my double page spread and contents
page. I decided for my double page spread that I was going to Polaroid some of my
photo shoot images and I used photoshop to be able to put the image in the polaroid
frame.
To be able to make my masthead I also used photoshop and I managed to put the
masthead text behind the main image on my front cover and I felt as if I achieved
something.
4. USING PHOTOSHOP AND PAGE PLUS
(CONTINUED)
On Page Plus this is another software I didn’t know anything about before I got
taught how to use it in my media lesson in order to complete my media product.
On page plus it allows me to be able to put text onto my magazine pages. I
used guidelines on page plus to be able to justify and line up the text on my
columns within the double page spread.
I learned how to add transparency and colour to the text I was adding to my
double page spread and contents page. Coming to the end of the finishing
product of my media I felt more confident with being able to use page plus it
became easy to me once I knew what the options at the side of the page
meant. It allowed me to be able to make a finishing media product that I felt was
successful and I was happy with.
5. PREZI AND SLIDESHARE
Prezi is a software which I have learned to use through my media lessons. It
is a different way to be able to present different ideas using slides and
colours. I didn’t know what this was before having to use it through my
research for a media product. I like using this now because it helps make
presenting fun and it is really easy to use I was able to understand this within
a couple of minutes and I have used it a lot on my blog.
Slide share is another software that I have used in order to present my ideas
and thoughts and research that I can put onto my blog. I learned that I could
make a PowerPoint presentation and upload it onto slide share which I then
had to embed onto my blog. Once I was taught how to do this once I was able
to do it for much more information on my blog.
