Deerhunter Research Paper
Mixing genres and styles are not easy, but what is harder still, is staying relevant and above the rest,
Deerhunter, an American indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia has done just that and have seven
full–length albums to proof it. Since 2001, Deerhunter has submerged themselves in neo–
psychedelic, garage rock, shoegaze, and post–punk genres. I can still remember the first time when I
listen to "Halycon Digest", their fifth full–length album. It was ultimately a good album, it had
everything right from lyrics to instruments and musical composition but I knew deep down inside
that something wasn't right about, it just did not quite stick to me as much as I wanted and I am still
ashamed of having that same exact feeling for their seventh studio album Fading Frontier.
Fading Frontier is very much like that one girl in college who likes you, she's pretty, she's sweet and
she should be every bit perfect for you. Everyone around you is expecting for both of you to get
together, but you just can't. That feeling of blissful ignorance of reality and the blinding light of love
isn't there. Fading Frontiers feels exactly like that, from the lo–fi presentation in songs like "Leather
and Wood" to the psychedelic lullaby of "Breaker", Deerhunter just can't ... Show more content on

Personally this is my favorite track of the album due to its dreamy composition, admittedly I am a
sucker for dream–pop. Other songs like "Skinhead" has you imagine a young man walking down a
street wearing 90s jeans while giving clinch inducing winks at passerby. "Skinhead" is one of the
more fast–paced songs with it's fast beats and interlacing tambourines, this song seems to be
everyone's favorite but not

Still Here Drake
Views: Artistic Analysis
Drake's album Views From the 6 is an album that amplifies a various amounts of artistic qualities
such as, imagery, metaphors, and similes that come together to represent his theme of being loyal to
those you love.
Drake uses his vocals and his lyrical genius to give an omnipresent theme of loyalty throughout the
album. In drake's Still Here he writes,"Oh, you just went and turned your back dog I thought that we
were family you showed me that we can't be." which represents that drake stayed loyal and treated
someone as a family member but that person turned their back. That lyric depicts drakes frustration
of being loyal but him not receiving the same, his point of view relates the listener as well. Drake

The concept of being hyped up is a huge must in the hip hop world, people love the feeling of being
hype and being motivated and drake takes that and molds it into his album. Drake is known for his
singing and using his vocals even though being a rapper, that aspect of drake really separates drake
from other rappers to point where rappers are becoming like drake. Drake manages to make you feel
emotional using lyrics and diction that are amazingly great. In the song Hotline Bling drake sings
about how he left his city and his love to come back to see that she has moved on. Drake says "ever
since I left the city you got a reputation for yourself now everybody knows it I feel left out." saying
that everyone knows her except drake who should know her better. Drake also makes us dance, in a
tropical vibe song called one dance drake uses drums and his majestic vocals to make a song your
body cannot refuse. The song took the nation by storm and really elevated the album to another level
and it gained respect from his peers. Another song on views called controlla had the same vibes as
one dance, but has more of a romantic feeling to it that also attracts to the youth. Most people like to
music that involves being loyal and that has a good tempo to it that can be danced to, drake takes
that into perspective and

Xo For Crying Out Loud Analysis
Anyone that knows me will tell you how big of a Weeknd fan I am. The theme of my 22nd birthday
was XO for crying out loud. Basically if The Weeknd supports it, I'm checking it out. Here is where
I get introduced to Nav and Belly. "Might Not" was the first song I heard from Belly, and from there
I went to check on his projects. His mixtapes "Up For Days" and "Inzombia" were both respectful
projects. Now the XO rapper feels as if it's his time to show the industry what he can do. Back in
April, Belly released a song titled "Glorious", and announced that it would also be the name of his
upcoming album. With the album expected for a summer release, its safe to say at this point it'll be
making its appearance in the fall. No other details have

Remembering "Rumblefish"
Rob Sheffield is former radio D. J., as well as an editor and columnist for the Rolling Stones
magazine. He stumbled upon a mix tape titled Rumblefish with no songs written on it. At first he
referred to it as "just another piece of useless junk that Renee left behind" (Sheffield 643). Renee
was his wife whom passed away after they were married for only five years. So as he listens through
the tape, he finds himself re–living and relieving the memory of his life with his much loved wife;
and each song is related with bittersweet memories. And so he drowns and looses himself into the
mix tape.

Rob has been a music journalist for over twenty years; his writing career began back in the days

working they would flip through vinyl records in music stores, listened to a lot of new songs and
wrote about them as fast as they could to meet the demand of the music mainstream. Since then,
Rob continues to write about music, TV and pop culture. Love is a MIX Tape: Life and Loss, One

How Does Cole Create An Epanaphora In This Song
Jermaine Cole is a successful American music artist famous for his complex and meaningful lyrics.
J. Cole writes many songs about the life of a man in the city or his early life in the inner city. In the
song "Love Yourz" J. Cole uses epanaphora, anecdotes, and rhetorical questions to create a mood
and message that stresses the insignificance of money. Love yourz is a fantastic song that makes you
truly appreciate life. J Cole uses epanaphora to repeat lines that accentuate the importance of
happiness and family over material objects. J Cole starts the song with an epanaphora. This
repetition of an opening phrase sets the tone and message for the song. In the first three lines J Cole
repeats the line "No such thing", The second line states "no such thing as a life that's better than
yours." This specific sentence in the song has an amazing message that is portrayed throughout the
entire song. We will never find happiness while chasing others lives. J. Cole does a fantastic job at
displaying this message in his song. There is no life better than ... Show more content on

J. Cole specifically uses this device to set the mood of the song and delivers the final reinforced
message that money is nothing without happiness. In line 24 Jermaine asks "for what's money
without happiness." The message could not be brought across any more clear. He also asks in the
next line "or hard times without the people you love." Money is nothing without happiness and J
Cole uses these rhetorical questions to emphasize this theme and message of the song. He makes all
of his listeners not only question the written line but their own lives. The intent of these questions
could be to stir a change in people's lives, to make the listeners really debate the quest of their lives.
J Cole knows that so many have been living life for money and not happiness or family. J Cole has a
message of change and gratitude, for what is money without

A Very Brief Timeline of One Direction
In 2010, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as
solo candidates for the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor.[4]
They failed to progress to the "Boys" category at "judges' houses" but were put together to form a
five–piece boy band at Wembley Arena, in London, England, in July 2010, during the "bootcamp"
stage of the competition,[5] thus qualifying for the "Groups" category. Nicole Scherzinger, a guest
judge,[4][6][7] and Simon Cowell have both claimed to have come up with the idea of forming the
band. In 2013, Cowell said that it "took him 10 minutes to put them together as a group".[8]
Subsequently, the group got together for two weeks to get to know each other and to practise.[9][10]
Styles came up with the name One Direction.[9] For their qualifying song at "judges' houses", and
their first song as a group, One Direction sang an acoustic version of "Torn".[11] Cowell later
commented that their performance convinced him that they "were confident, fun, like a gang of
friends, and kind of fearless as well."[12] Within the first four weeks of the live shows, they were
his last act in the competition.[13] The group quickly gained popularity in the UK.[12]
One Direction finished in third place and immediately after the final, their song "Forever Young",
which would have been released if they had won The X Factor, was leaked onto the internet.[14]
Shortly afterwards it was confirmed that One

What We Learn From Kendrick Lemar 's At Pimp A Butterfly

What We Learn From Kendrick Lemar's To Pimp A Butterfly
Life is a jungle, a beautiful, colorful landscape, often painted with harsh conflict and oppression.
Navigating forward requires keeping healthy relationships with the community and those close to
you, maintaining focus on your true identity, and not losing sight of larger than life goals. These
ideals are the message that Kendrick Lamar wishes to bestow upon whomever experiences his latest
album, To Pimp A Butterfly.
Kendrick's story originates in Compton, a jungle at its core, where he learned that survival depends
on working with others and keeping intact with your roots. Because of the harsh living environment
and unavoidable presence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similar to Tupac, Kendrick wanted to demonstrate characteristics of a great leader so he too could
be an example for his people.
Unfortunately, the excessive fame and separation from Compton came with harsh consequences:
Kendrick began to struggle with keeping in touch with his roots, and the ideals that hoisted him to
the throne. He expresses these emotions in the track Momma, where he states how he knows
everything about life, but goes on to realize that after reaching stardom, he may be out of touch with
his roots and all he knew. Throughout the rest of To Pimp A Butterfly, we find out he felt lost in "the
cocoon" a metaphor for the grasp media has on society, and desperately began to cling to his true
identity as a way to break free from the cocoon's bounds. Eventually, Kendrick emerges as a
butterfly, wanting to return home and teach all the "caterpillars" what he learned.
For Kendrick, African American oppression and Compton's black–on–black crime is at the forefront
of his frustration, and a prime inspiration for his need to teach the community about working
together. On the track simply called "I", a live recording, Kendrick is heard calling out to a crowd to
join together. Unfortunately, his message seems to initially fall on deaf ears. Instead of listening, the
crowd continues to fight over how to fix the problems in their community, rather than unite to fight
them together. As he continues to speak, the crowd becomes quieter, and Kendrick goes on to
condemn

The Songs Of Drake's Rise
Popular Albums of 2015 &
People often go through relationship issues, breakups, sadness, depression, struggles, and other
emotional events. Listening to songs gives people's emotion a voice to which they can relate to.
Being able to connect to people at such a deep and personal level allows songs to become popular
and allows the Artist's album to rise to the top and be successful. In the year 2015, there were many
successful albums that were released, but in my opinion Drake's album If You're Reading This It's
Too Late and Justin Bieber's album Purpose was a success because of how deeply the artists were
able to connect with their fans and listeners.
Firstly, Drake's album If You're Reading This It's Too Late reached out to the everyday ... Show

This caused his popularity to sky rocket and his fans kept on increasing. Drakes album Nothing Was
the Same, was such a huge hit and became the bestselling album of 2013. This hyped up his 2015
album release and many people bought it just because they expected Drake's new album to match or
exceed the popularity of his last album. Drake sings about what goes on the daily in his life and
people are able to relate to this, because many of them find themselves in a similar situation. Thus,
allowed this album to rise to the top and be successful.
Moreover, Justin's album Purpose was a huge success because of all the different styles of music he
was offering to the listeners. He included many genre styles in his album such as R&B, pop, EDM,
folk, contemporary R&B and more. This allowed people from many different music tastes to listen
and like his album. It also helped people try out other genres of music too. This album is a showcase
of how Justin Bieber matured as artist. This album relates to past relations a lot and how to coup
with those lingering feelings. Many of his songs in this album are about relationship issues but still
he is able to keep it uplifting and provide support to people going to the same situation. Justin
Bieber sends a message through his songs that it will be alright and that you should "Love Yourself"
which is also a song title in his album. Another key factor to the success of Justin Bieber's Purpose
was the incredible number of diehard fans

Rock and Roll: Bands on the Rise Essay examples
When people hear the genre "rock and roll," they often think of performers like Elvis Presley,
AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer
bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960's, 70's, and 80's to the bands of the 1990's and
the 2000's. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of
the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining
popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time
than other bands. The more popular bands that have many fans are bands like Three Days Grace,
Alter Bridge, and Avenged Sevenfold. These three bands have had ... Show more content on

Oya Song Analysis
Oya is the second track on Ibeyi's self–titled debut album, preceded by a prayer to Eleggua, orisha
of the crossroads and the first to be saluted in all Santería ceremonies. The song's title is a reference
to an orisha of the same name, who is believed to be the guardian of the dead and the harbinger of
righteous change and destruction. Both sisters claim personal patronage from Oya, and in Ibeyi
fashion, the track sounds more like a ceremonial evocation than a radio–friendly pop song. The
arrangement is sparse, consisting mostly of a looped acapella melody (Figure 1). To my ears, the
melody has a Gregorian air about it, imbuing the recording with a Westernized air of mystery and
spiritual reverence. The melody is occasionally accompanied by a deep, electronic bass, which
sounds like an animalistic growl one moment and a cheetah–like roar in others. Figure 1: Oya's
underlying melody (Musescore) Much like the music, Oya's lyrics are also very minimal. The verses
showcase Lisa–Kaindé's voice, as she sings, "Even if I feel the sun on my skin everyday / If I don't
feel you / Even if I see the most beautiful things up in the sky / If I don't see you." Out the surface,
such lyrics would invite accusations of pointless esotericism; however, when considering Oya's dark
and unpredictable nature, one can imagine Lisa–Kaindé (who wrote the song after a breakup)
penned the words as a reminder to herself that no matter how idyllic things may be at the moment,
sudden, and oftentimes

Sunday afternoon, sun out, windows down, nowhere to hurry back to? I never had..." shows the
youthful spirit that Rob had when he was with Renee, for she truly did show him how to enjoy his
youth and to have fun. However, as he reminisced through the pleasurable memories that Renee
brought to him, using diction he was able to express to the reader the sadness her death bestowed
upon him. "We met on September 17, 1989. We got married on July 13, 1991. We were married for
five years and ten months. Renée died on May 11, 1997, very suddenly and unexpectedly, at home
with me, of a pulmonary embolism. She was thirty–one..." Through syntax, he was able to show a
change in mood from the serenity and peace that he felt with while being accompanied by Renee to
her unexpected death in his arms. The short sentences in this excerpt from the book show that there
was an abrupt interruption in his life and it caused a change in the way the author wrote. Nature took
its course.

The Ambino : A Film Review Of Childish Gambino
Donald McKinley Glover is an American actor, writer, producer, director, comedian, rapper, singer,
and songwriter. He performs as a stage artist under the name Childish Gambino. Gambino debuted
his first musical project November 15, 2011 with the release of Camp, the album received mixed
reviews with critics although fans gave the album great reviews. After the album release Gambino
took nearly three years to release Because The Internet his second studio album. Which was inspired
by his observations on how technology has changed social interactions (and not necessarily for the
better).
Because the Internet is more than just an album, it's a character study of himself. Gambino released
a screenplay to accompany the album, the screenplay follows The Boy, a wealthy kid who lives in a
mansion, and the downward spiral that is his life. Because The Internet actually begins at the end of
Gambino's last album Camp. In Camp's last song, titled 'That Power', Gambino tells the story of a
boy who professes his love to a girl while at summer camp, only to be mocked for his emotions.
Camp ended with The Boy (Gambino) Stuck on the bus crying, the screenplay opens up with a
simple yet eerie line "You can't live your life on this bus forever..." The Boys dad said setting the
scene for Because The Internet. Every project Gambino releases is unique and explores different
spectrums of Hip–Hop. The lyrics are a self–reflection and honest similar to his debut album
"Camp" which spoke about his

Drake's Album Cover
Everyone looks at a piece of art and has various opinions on what they believe is trying to be
portrayed. As Fred R. Barnard once said, "a picture is worth ten thousand words". Whoever may be
viewing the picture, or whatever the picture may be, there will always be a wide description of
thoughts on its details. In Drake's 2013 album cover Nothing Was the Same, Drake has the idea of
bringing his two worlds of past and present together. Drake's album cover is difficult to understand,
yet through Drake's history, the details in the cover, and the reasoning behind the creation, the cover
seems to all tie together. This is because he wants to show his fans that even though the music of his
past has not met his expectations for sharing his stories; he will not quit. ... Show more content on

The lyrics in each of his songs in the album relate to the album cover because they talk about the
struggles he had to overcome as a kid in order to get to where he is today. This cover makes me
think of determination because of Drake's persistence on wanting his fans to understand the lyrics to
his songs. Though little is actually in the picture, the image itself contains a wide variety of
information. One of Drake's most iconic songs to date "Started from the Bottom" truly illustrates his
struggles while growing up in Toronto. All of this lead to his successful future as a rap and hip–hop
artist today. Drake portrays his statement of his desire to share everything on himself in his album,
by the transformation of himself from the front to back

Hallelujah Panic
Remember the eccentrics of the earliest Panic! At The Disco videos? The steam–punk infused
"Mona Lisa", and the whimsical fish bowl head–gear of the A Fever We Can't Sweat Out–era? The
vegas–born band's latest release "Hallelujah" came alongside a video not quite as fantastical, but
with CGI Tetris–maze effects abstract enough to make it recognisably Panic!.
"Hallelujah" is Panic! At The Disco's only single to date that can't credit drummer Spencer Smith,
who had been the only remaining founding member of the band–vocalist Brendon Urie joined later
as a replacement guitarist–before his departure in April. It also marks Panic! At The Disco's first

Hybrid Theory reached "Diamond Status" when their sales topped ten million (Leahey). Such an
accomplishment allowed the album to be considered as one of the most successful debuts ever
(Leahey). Linkin Park later received three Grammys nominations for the debut album as well. In the
2000s, Linkin Park not only received over sixty awards, but they also were nominated for a hundred
and sixty–nine more (Leahey). It should also be taken into consideration that the statistics listed
below only refer to one of five albums. Some bands don't even reach Linkin Park's status of worth
after their first album when compared to their entire career. The amount of years that a band has
been together does not necessarily mean they are better or the best. For example, some of the bands
that did not even come close to making the list have never even won a Grammy let alone been
nominated for one. Although many people have their own opinion as to what a good band entails,
based upon the criteria that is created and evaluated, any band can justifiably be the best rock band.
Based upon evaluating rock bands on their number of awards and sales, Linkin Park is arguably the
best rock band of the 2000s. There is no denying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Not
everyone is going to easily agree that Linkin Park is the best rock band. On the other hand, based
upon the criteria created, arguments can be made as to why they under some circumstances that they

The Video Of Ghost By Beyonce Knowles

She dropped an unexpected album after having been absent from the industry to take care of her

released self–titled 5th album, Beyoncé, with 14 songs as well as 14 music videos to go along with
each song. She released it only on digital platforms. She did it without any marketing. She sold over
600,000 copies in the first week. Needless to say, Beyoncé had set the bar for the rest of the music

Black women are told again and again by society that their sexuality and their bodies are not
acceptable by societal standards, but by creating "Rocket" Beyoncé twists that narrative. Throughout
the video the focus is on her body. It is sensual and sexy, but never grotesque. She lets you know she
has sex and that it is far better than you are ever going to have.
Beyoncé has been in the spotlight for the majority of her life, with her first performance on
television being at 8 years old and then later recording her first album at 14 with Destiny's Child.
She has always known what it is like to be in the spotlight and the expectations that come with it. In
Ghost, she attempts to cast off these expectations by showing her and her dancers struggle with a
long cloth and full body suits. While it is easy to see this as Beyoncé grappling with fame as a
whole, "Ghost" can be read as Beyoncé getting rid of the image she was once forced to maintain; an

This is most noticeable in the song "White Ferrari" where Ocean sings in a rhythm that sounds
almost identical to the popular song "Here, There, and Everywhere" by The Beatles. The album
starts off with "Nikes," a slow, hypnotic song, featuring high pitched vocals from Ocean, and a very
dreamy sound, somewhat creating a mood for the rest of the album. The next songs, "Ivy" and "Pink
and White," are polar opposites about love, where in "Ivy," Ocean talks about how he failed to keep
a relationship going on, and in "Pink and White" he sings about intimate love and good long–term
relationships. The album also contains skits like "Be Yourself" where Frank's mother leaves a phone
call for him telling him not to consume alcohol, not to get in the car with someone who has
consumed alcohol, or is impaired by smoking marijuana, and a skit called "Facebook Story," about a
man who lost his wife because he didn't friend her on Facebook. Although short, this skit has a
powerful message: social media can and will destroy long–built relationships with somebody you

The highlights of the album come from songs like "Solo," a gospel influenced song with somewhat
of an Adele influence. "Godspeed" is another heavily gospel–influenced song where Ocean proves

Lorely Rodriguez Me Essay
Me. It's a cryptic name for an album, a word that can mean so much and so little, and for Lorely
Rodriguez's Empress Of project, it's a fitting title. Me is interesting lyrically, and even more so
musically – it's not exactly an exploration of the self as much as it is an inhabitation. That is,
Rodriguez uses her unique identity and experiences to craft balanced, adaptable songs that can be
perceived as intellectual or physical art, as food for thought or as primal messages. Me is such a
well–rounded and confident record, yet there is a sense of ricketiness to it, as if it has no right to
reach this high into the stratosphere; there's very little wrong with it, though. With Me, Rodriguez
has crafted a formidable debut album: it's a self–assured work that manages to be both experimental
and accessible, an album that never fails to please, whether you're embroiled in thought or swept
onto the dancefloor.
Balance is a theme throughout the record; experimental and established pop methods run hand in
hand, as do the eclectically airy instrumentals with Rodriguez's simply delivered vocals. Perhaps the
most important duality here is one of beauty and ferocity; it's this harmony that ... Show more

Tuscan Leather Analysis
I chose to write about the song Tuscan Leather. I love the recklessness rhymes and epic changes of
the beat and most importantly the realness Drake portrays. I believe it is one of the greatest tracks in

samples "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston and "When Seasons Change (live)" by Curtis

I've been on the record multiple times saying that I believe this album was better than TPAB and
should have won at least one Grammy. Unlike "4 Your Eyez Only", this was a concept album in
which you can actually enjoy listening to. The way the album goes from his birth, to his awkward
teenage years, to ultimately signing a record deal was done flawlessly. He didn't have a traditional
"radio" record which didn't stop him from getting radio spins. "Fire Squad" was so good it made me
look at two of my favorite musicians in Justin Timberlake and Eminem funny for a few weeks. This
album can be played at any time and I still get excited two years later whenever it comes on. This
was the album in which I can say that Cole figured it out. A full album of lyrics which at the same
time is catchy and easy to listen to. You didn't need a certain level of inteligence to enjoy this album
and on top of that, he went double platinum with no

Analysis Of Def Jam's Under Pressure
In today's society of music, majority of artist's albums tells their life story or a story from their
imagination. However, not many artists can share their background in the same emotional way as
Logic did with his debut album Under Pressure. Logic provides beautiful melodies and aggressive
tones throughout the album to give a relaxing, easy listen that will make you want to keep it on
replay. With his style of storytelling, a well–executed flow of lyrics with rhymes, and amazing
production within the studio, Under Pressure will have music lovers wanting more from the talented
hip hop artist.
Under Pressure is the first album created by Def Jam signed artist Logic. Released in 2014, the hip
hop album contains twelve meaningful songs, giving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this was his first album, he had already known that he was like no other artist. In the song
"Soul Food," he states "I swear this music in my genes like denim / Lyricism seeping, I'm like
venom / Yes, I know the flow hotter than Lucifer / Even though Heaven sent him." With each song
that goes by, people will hear more and more bars go by that will leave them unable to sing along to
the song, but still able to understand the words that he is saying. One of the most lyrically flowing
rhyme schemes in the album comes from the song "Growing Pains III," where without a stutter, he
swiftly asserts "When will I lose my anonymity and become one with the enemy? / Tell me would I
be the enemy, feel like nobody in front of me." The song that possibly shows the most potential of
his lyrics and flow, however, would have to be the song "Under Pressure." In this nine–and–a–half–
minute song, Logic tends to change his speed constantly, but does it in a way that does not alter the
dynamics of the beats. A line from the second verse demonstrates that he knows the talent he obtains
while stating rapidly, "Yeah my stress up, but I'm blessed up / F*** around and get messed up /
When I murder the rhyme, I'm living divine / You know that I'm one of a kind." In addition to the
lyrics of the songs, listeners will also hear the production value behind them as

Deerhunter Research Paper

  • 1. Deerhunter Research Paper Mixing genres and styles are not easy, but what is harder still, is staying relevant and above the rest, Deerhunter, an American indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia has done just that and have seven full–length albums to proof it. Since 2001, Deerhunter has submerged themselves in neo– psychedelic, garage rock, shoegaze, and post–punk genres. I can still remember the first time when I listen to "Halycon Digest", their fifth full–length album. It was ultimately a good album, it had everything right from lyrics to instruments and musical composition but I knew deep down inside that something wasn't right about, it just did not quite stick to me as much as I wanted and I am still ashamed of having that same exact feeling for their seventh studio album Fading Frontier. Fading Frontier is very much like that one girl in college who likes you, she's pretty, she's sweet and she should be every bit perfect for you. Everyone around you is expecting for both of you to get together, but you just can't. That feeling of blissful ignorance of reality and the blinding light of love isn't there. Fading Frontiers feels exactly like that, from the lo–fi presentation in songs like "Leather and Wood" to the psychedelic lullaby of "Breaker", Deerhunter just can't ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Personally this is my favorite track of the album due to its dreamy composition, admittedly I am a sucker for dream–pop. Other songs like "Skinhead" has you imagine a young man walking down a street wearing 90s jeans while giving clinch inducing winks at passerby. "Skinhead" is one of the more fast–paced songs with it's fast beats and interlacing tambourines, this song seems to be everyone's favorite but not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Still Here Drake Views: Artistic Analysis Drake's album Views From the 6 is an album that amplifies a various amounts of artistic qualities such as, imagery, metaphors, and similes that come together to represent his theme of being loyal to those you love. Drake uses his vocals and his lyrical genius to give an omnipresent theme of loyalty throughout the album. In drake's Still Here he writes,"Oh, you just went and turned your back dog I thought that we were family you showed me that we can't be." which represents that drake stayed loyal and treated someone as a family member but that person turned their back. That lyric depicts drakes frustration of being loyal but him not receiving the same, his point of view relates the listener as well. Drake continues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The concept of being hyped up is a huge must in the hip hop world, people love the feeling of being hype and being motivated and drake takes that and molds it into his album. Drake is known for his singing and using his vocals even though being a rapper, that aspect of drake really separates drake from other rappers to point where rappers are becoming like drake. Drake manages to make you feel emotional using lyrics and diction that are amazingly great. In the song Hotline Bling drake sings about how he left his city and his love to come back to see that she has moved on. Drake says "ever since I left the city you got a reputation for yourself now everybody knows it I feel left out." saying that everyone knows her except drake who should know her better. Drake also makes us dance, in a tropical vibe song called one dance drake uses drums and his majestic vocals to make a song your body cannot refuse. The song took the nation by storm and really elevated the album to another level and it gained respect from his peers. Another song on views called controlla had the same vibes as one dance, but has more of a romantic feeling to it that also attracts to the youth. Most people like to music that involves being loyal and that has a good tempo to it that can be danced to, drake takes that into perspective and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basically if The Weeknd supports it, I'm checking it out. Here is where I get introduced to Nav and Belly. "Might Not" was the first song I heard from Belly, and from there I went to check on his projects. His mixtapes "Up For Days" and "Inzombia" were both respectful projects. Now the XO rapper feels as if it's his time to show the industry what he can do. Back in April, Belly released a song titled "Glorious", and announced that it would also be the name of his upcoming album. With the album expected for a summer release, its safe to say at this point it'll be making its appearance in the fall. No other details have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. How Does Cole Create An Epanaphora In This Song Jermaine Cole is a successful American music artist famous for his complex and meaningful lyrics. J. Cole writes many songs about the life of a man in the city or his early life in the inner city. In the song "Love Yourz" J. Cole uses epanaphora, anecdotes, and rhetorical questions to create a mood and message that stresses the insignificance of money. Love yourz is a fantastic song that makes you truly appreciate life. J Cole uses epanaphora to repeat lines that accentuate the importance of happiness and family over material objects. J Cole starts the song with an epanaphora. This repetition of an opening phrase sets the tone and message for the song. In the first three lines J Cole repeats the line "No such thing", The second line states "no such thing as a life that's better than yours." This specific sentence in the song has an amazing message that is portrayed throughout the entire song. We will never find happiness while chasing others lives. J. Cole specifically uses this device to set the mood of the song and delivers the final reinforced message that money is nothing without happiness. In line 24 Jermaine asks "for what's money without happiness." The message could not be brought across any more clear. He also asks in the next line "or hard times without the people you love." Money is nothing without happiness and J Cole uses these rhetorical questions to emphasize this theme and message of the song. He makes all of his listeners not only question the written line but their own lives. The intent of these questions could be to stir a change in people's lives, to make the listeners really debate the quest of their lives. A Very Brief Timeline of One Direction In 2010, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as solo candidates for the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor.[4] They failed to progress to the "Boys" category at "judges' houses" but were put together to form a five–piece boy band at Wembley Arena, in London, England, in July 2010, during the "bootcamp" stage of the competition,[5] thus qualifying for the "Groups" category. Nicole Scherzinger, a guest judge,[4][6][7] and Simon Cowell have both claimed to have come up with the idea of forming the band. In 2013, Cowell said that it "took him 10 minutes to put them together as a group".[8] Subsequently, the group got together for two weeks to get to know each other and to practise.[9][10] Styles came up with the name One Direction.[9] For their qualifying song at "judges' houses", and their first song as a group, One Direction sang an acoustic version of "Torn".[11] Cowell later commented that their performance convinced him that they "were confident, fun, like a gang of friends, and kind of fearless as well."[12] Within the first four weeks of the live shows, they were his last act in the competition.[13] The group quickly gained popularity in the UK.[12] One Direction finished in third place and immediately after the final, their song "Forever Young", which would have been released if they had won The X Factor, was leaked onto the internet.[14] Shortly afterwards it was confirmed that One ... What We Learn From Kendrick Lemar 's At Pimp A Butterfly James Powell Ben Pack WRIT–340 31 March 2015 What We Learn From Kendrick Lemar's To Pimp A Butterfly Life is a jungle, a beautiful, colorful landscape, often painted with harsh conflict and oppression. Navigating forward requires keeping healthy relationships with the community and those close to you, maintaining focus on your true identity, and not losing sight of larger than life goals. These ideals are the message that Kendrick Lamar wishes to bestow upon whomever experiences his latest album, To Pimp A Butterfly. Kendrick's story originates in Compton, a jungle at its core, where he learned that survival depends on working with others and keeping intact with your roots. Because of the harsh living environment and unavoidable presence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similar to Tupac, Kendrick wanted to demonstrate characteristics of a great leader so he too could be an example for his people. Unfortunately, the excessive fame and separation from Compton came with harsh consequences: Kendrick began to struggle with keeping in touch with his roots, and the ideals that hoisted him to the throne. He expresses these emotions in the track Momma, where he states how he knows everything about life, but goes on to realize that after reaching stardom, he may be out of touch with his roots and all he knew. Throughout the rest of To Pimp A Butterfly, we find out he felt lost in "the cocoon" a metaphor for the grasp media has on society, and desperately began to cling to his true identity as a way to break free from the cocoon's bounds. Eventually, Kendrick emerges as a butterfly, wanting to return home and teach all the "caterpillars" what he learned. For Kendrick, African American oppression and Compton's black–on–black crime is at the forefront of his frustration, and a prime inspiration for his need to teach the community about working together. On the track simply called "I", a live recording, Kendrick is heard calling out to a crowd to join together. Unfortunately, his message seems to initially fall on deaf ears. Instead of listening, the crowd continues to fight over how to fix the problems in their community, rather than unite to fight them together. As he continues to speak, the crowd becomes quieter, and Kendrick goes on to condemn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Oya Song Analysis Oya is the second track on Ibeyi's self–titled debut album, preceded by a prayer to Eleggua, orisha of the crossroads and the first to be saluted in all Santería ceremonies. The song's title is a reference to an orisha of the same name, who is believed to be the guardian of the dead and the harbinger of righteous change and destruction. Both sisters claim personal patronage from Oya, and in Ibeyi fashion, the track sounds more like a ceremonial evocation than a radio–friendly pop song. The arrangement is sparse, consisting mostly of a looped acapella melody (Figure 1). To my ears, the melody has a Gregorian air about it, imbuing the recording with a Westernized air of mystery and spiritual reverence. The melody is occasionally accompanied by a deep, electronic bass, which sounds like an animalistic growl one moment and a cheetah–like roar in others. Figure 1: Oya's underlying melody (Musescore) Much like the music, Oya's lyrics are also very minimal. The verses showcase Lisa–Kaindé's voice, as she sings, "Even if I feel the sun on my skin everyday / If I don't feel you / Even if I see the most beautiful things up in the sky / If I don't see you." Out the surface, such lyrics would invite accusations of pointless esotericism; however, when considering Oya's dark and unpredictable nature, one can imagine Lisa–Kaindé (who wrote the song after a breakup) penned the words as a reminder to herself that no matter how idyllic things may be at the moment, sudden, and oftentimes ... Beyoncé has been in the spotlight for the majority of her life, with her first performance on television being at 8 years old and then later recording her first album at 14 with Destiny's Child. She has always known what it is like to be in the spotlight and the expectations that come with it. In Ghost, she attempts to cast off these expectations by showing her and her dancers struggle with a long cloth and full body suits. While it is easy to see this as Beyoncé grappling with fame as a whole, "Ghost" can be read as Beyoncé getting rid of the image she was once forced to maintain; an image that was meant to placate and not push parts of her identity such as her race. I immediately noticed John Fryer had a more subjective way to selling this item. In the description, he mentions where he purchased the record. Memories he had as a kid listening to SU radio station during the early 80's and the emotion it provoked. On the other hand, the eBay description was very objective, offering only facts about said album lacking personality, in turn, feeling cold. Listing things to include the credits and company in which originally recorded what some call the album to start it all. There is a very noticeable difference in writing styles, Johns is personable with opinions and insight to his personality. The seller on eBay only offered hard facts nothing to grab the reader I would buy John's album over the random eBay seller any day. I enjoyed the description number one. The next songs, "Ivy" and "Pink and White," are polar opposites about love, where in "Ivy," Ocean talks about how he failed to keep a relationship going on, and in "Pink and White" he sings about intimate love and good long–term relationships. The album also contains skits like "Be Yourself" where Frank's mother leaves a phone call for him telling him not to consume alcohol, not to get in the car with someone who has consumed alcohol, or is impaired by smoking marijuana, and a skit called "Facebook Story," about a man who lost his wife because he didn't friend her on Facebook. Although short, this skit has a powerful message: social media can and will destroy long–built relationships with somebody you love. Me is interesting lyrically, and even more so musically – it's not exactly an exploration of the self as much as it is an inhabitation. That is, Rodriguez uses her unique identity and experiences to craft balanced, adaptable songs that can be perceived as intellectual or physical art, as food for thought or as primal messages. Me is such a well–rounded and confident record, yet there is a sense of ricketiness to it, as if it has no right to reach this high into the stratosphere; there's very little wrong with it, though. With Me, Rodriguez has crafted a formidable debut album: it's a self–assured work that manages to be both experimental and accessible, an album that never fails to please, whether you're embroiled in thought or swept onto the dancefloor. Balance is a theme throughout the record; experimental and established pop methods run hand in hand, as do the eclectically airy instrumentals with Rodriguez's simply delivered vocals. Perhaps the most important duality here is one of beauty and ferocity; it's this harmony that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe it is one of the greatest tracks in hip pop/rap history. It was written by David Foster, Linda Thompson, Noah Shebib and the legend himself Drake. Noah "40" Shebib produced this track featured on Drake's third studio album "Nothing Was the Same" that was recorded in Toronto and released in 2013. Tuscan Leather heavily samples "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston and "When Seasons Change (live)" by Curtis Mayfield. The background vocals were sung by American rapper Cappadonna. In the song "Soul Food," he states "I swear this music in my genes like denim / Lyricism seeping, I'm like venom / Yes, I know the flow hotter than Lucifer / Even though Heaven sent him." With each song that goes by, people will hear more and more bars go by that will leave them unable to sing along to the song, but still able to understand the words that he is saying. One of the most lyrically flowing rhyme schemes in the album comes from the song "Growing Pains III," where without a stutter, he swiftly asserts "When will I lose my anonymity and become one with the enemy? / Tell me would I be the enemy, feel like nobody in front of me." The song that possibly shows the most potential of his lyrics and flow, however, would have to be the song "Under Pressure." In this nine–and–a–half– minute song, Logic tends to change his speed constantly, but does it in a way that does not alter the dynamics of the beats. A line from the second verse demonstrates that he knows the talent he obtains while stating rapidly, "Yeah my stress up, but I'm blessed up / F*** around and get messed up / When I murder the rhyme, I'm living divine / You know that I'm one of a kind."
