LSC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field athletes have recorded 19 NCAA Division II Automa c qualifying
marks (7 men, 12 women) and 151 provisional efforts (73 men, 78 women). See the LSC performance list

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MEN’S TRACK
Marcus Parker, Eastern New Mexico University, FR, Phoenix, Ariz. , Centennial High School
Parker registered three first place finishes at last weekend’s West Texas A&M Invita onal. All three of those
performances earned provisional qualifying marks to the upcoming NCAA Championships. His me of 10.27 in
the 100m dash ranks as the fourth best in the na on. Parker also posted a me of 21.06 in the 200m dash. He
ran the final leg of the 4x100m relay with a me of 40.83. Parker is leads the Lone Star Conference in the 200m,
is second in the 100m and third in the 4x100m relay.
MEN’S FIELD
Nils Fischer, Angelo State University, FR, Germany
Fischer broke his own ASU javelin school record and tossed the sixth best throw in any division. The freshman’s
throw of 233-9 (71.26m) was just short of moving into the top 10 all- me in Division II. It is his second Division
II automa c throw of the season and he con nues to lead Division II in the javelin.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Kennedy Hudson, West Texas A&M University, FR, Houston, Texas, Goose Creek Memorial HS
Hudson broke her own freshman record en route to winning the 100-meter dash at the WT Invita onal this past
weekend. The Houston, Texas ran away from the field in 11.77 to break her own freshman record and move up
her to fourth all- me. That is also the fastest me run by a freshman this season as she ranks 15th in the na on.
She also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash running 24.64.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Fa m Affessi, West Texas A&M University, FR, Switzerland
The reigning LSC women’s field athlete of the week con nues her impressive form as the Switzerland na ve
broke her own freshman record in the long jump on Sunday at the WT Invita onal. Affessi finished second in
the compe on with the third-best mark in school history, 20-11.25 (6.38m), breaking the freshman record set
last weekend at the Ross Black Track & Field Open. She now ranks second in the na on in both the long and
triple jump.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Josh Ybarra, Lubbock Chris an University, clinched LCU’s best finish of the weekend with a first place finish
in the 1,500-meter run. Ybarra dominated the 1,500-meter event and beat out the field with a 4:08.95 for first
place and 10 team points. Ybarra outran the second place finisher by five full seconds.
Todd Handley, West Texas A&M University, made a big move up the Descending Order List in the 100-meters
this past weekend at the WT Invita onal. The senior sprinter now ranks 11th in the na on a er running 10.40
in near perfect condi ons on Sunday a ernoon. That me is also the seventh-fastest in school history as the
Riverside, Calif. is one of four runners from the Lone Star Conference ranked in the top 15.
Johen Deleon, Tarleton State University, competed at the Michael Johnson Invita onal hosted by Baylor
University. Deleon finished third at the meet with a me of 3:55.85 in the 1500m run. This me was a season
best from the freshman from Robinson.
Kenneth Lloyd, Eastern New Mexico University, took second place in the high jump at the West Texas A&M
Invita onal with a leap of 6-6.75.
Abraham Seaneke, West Texas A&M University, had an impressive weekend at the WT Invita onal where he
won the triple jump while also recording a runner-up finish in the long jump. The sophomore finished atop the
triple jump compe on with a mark of 50-2 (15.29m) which is the third-best mark in school history. His mark
of 23-4.75 (7.13m) in the long jump was his second-best mark of the outdoor season.
Chantz Chambers, Tarleton State University, competed at the Michael Johnson Invita onal hosted by Baylor
University. Chambers finished fourth at the meet in the long jump, with a jump of 21-10.75 (6.67m).
Amira Cunningham, Lubbock Chris an University, earned a personal-best me of 11:21.26. Cunningham
obliterated her previous best me by 21 seconds to claim third place in the event. The Lady Chaps took part in
the 3,000-meter steeplechase for just the second me this season.
Melina Gryschka, Eastern New Mexico University, registered a first place performance in the 3,000m
steeplechase at last weekend’s West Texas A&M Invita onal. Her me (10:48.99) edged Midwestern State’s
Bridget Reilly by more than 12 seconds, and was a NCAA provisionally qualifying mark.
Katelin Huckabee, Tarleton State University, competed at the Michael Johnson Invita onal hosted by
Baylor University. Huckabee finished ninth-place overall in the women’s 5000m run in a me of 17:45.43. This
performance was a season best for Huckabee.
Daisy Osakue, Angelo State University, won the discus at the Michael Johnson Invita onal with a throw of
181-1 (55.20m). It is her fi h Division II automa c throw of the season. The freshman beat a talented field

Roxana Hernandez, Tarleton State University, competed at the Michael Johnson Invita onal hosted by
Baylor. Hernandez finished eighth-place in the high jump with a jump of 5-5.75 (1.67m).

Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico outdoor track & field teams combined to claim first place in eight events on Sunday
at the West Texas A&M Invita onal. The performances included three NCAA Championship qualifying marks,
while both the men’s and women’s teams from ENMU claimed second place in the team standings. Marcus
Parker registered the performance of the day, as his me of 10.30 not only earned a first-place finish in the
event, but stands as the fourth-best in the na on. Jacques Hall, Avery Rasher, Travonne Armstead, and Parker
teamed to give the Hounds the 21st best me in the country in the 4x100m relay at 40.83, to claim first place at
the meet. Melina Gryschka won the 3,000m steeplechase with a me of 10.48.99, to post her second qualifying
me in the event this season. Kiana Covington ran a season-best 57.68 to win the 400m dash, while Mekayla
Welsh tossed the javelin 102’-10.6”” to take first place. Omer Almog took first place in the 5,00m run with a
me of 14:54.05, while Ivar Moinat wrapped up a winning performance in the 800m at 1:54.13. Luis Duarte
rounded out the top finishers for the Greyhounds with a toss of 166’-0.9”” in the javelin.

Lubbock Chris an men’s and women’s track teams closed out the past weekend at the WT Invita onal on
Sunday April 23. The Lady Chaparrals walked away with a fi h place team finish a er compe ng across four
events. LCU’s women also captured three top-five finishes. Sophomore Amira Cunningham led LCU with a third
place performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The Lubbock Chris an men finished up in fourth place in team standings and competed across five events.
Sophomore Josh Ybarra clinched LCU’s best finish of the meet with first place in the 1,500-meter run. Overall,
the Chaps notched eight top-five finishes throughout Sunday’s events.
