2. Synopsis of our Film
When a young guy wakes up the next morning in a cell he questions
what happened the night before. Our film tells the story of how a
night out with his mates involving a lot of drinking and drugs, has
made him a suspect for the beating to death of another young man.
He can’t deny it entirely as he doesn’t remember what happened
however clues along the way suggest he’s not the right guy, he’s
innocent.
3. USP – Unique Selling Point
Our film tells the story of a messy night out and the consequences of
it. It portrays an important message to our audience and perhaps
will make them think twice in the future about what they get up to
on a night out. Our film has a meaning.
4. Target Audience
Our target audience is 15+. It’s a film you need to pay
attention to throughout with a complex plot therefor the
majority of people under 15 wouldn’t be interested in. It
also includes quite violent graphic scenes and strong use of
drinking and drugs. Things we don’t feel are appropriate for
under 15s.
5. Profile of our Audience
Member
Our film audience would probably be quite evenly split in terms of gender as the two key characters are played
by a female and a male. This is so it brings in as large a audience as possibly
Jonny is 19, and has a real interest in ‘action crime thrillers’. He spends a lot of his time kayaking and when
he’s not he’ll be online either talking to friends or researching films. He’s seen quite a wide range of films
however says he’s most interested in ‘action crime thrillers’ and that this plot appeals to him because it has a
meaning and there’s a story.
James is 17 and has a strong interest in ‘action’ films and also enjoys thrillers. He said this film would appeal to
him. During his free time he’s either spending it with friends or playing sports. He also spends quite a bit of time
online socializing with friends, making plans, such as going to the cinema. He said he’d definitely go with mates
to see this, however sometimes he doesn’t get to see films he’s really interested in as the hours they’re
screened aren’t suitable. As a consequence of this statement James has made, this is one of the questions we
are going to ask to find out the best time for release and screening is to bring in the largest audience.
6. Pearl and Dean Figures
We’ve looked at film details from a couple of ‘action crime thrillers’ these are the details from Bourne
Ultimatum to give us a clearer idea of our main audiences age and gender. As a result of these results it’s
influenced our film in the certification and how to make it more appealing.
7. Marketing Campaign Ideas
We’re going down the traditional marketing route. We’re planning
to do a magazine cover, posters, billboards and radio interviews.
We believe each of these will bring in a large audience. From the
magazine cover the readers will hopefully interact with the actor /
actress either by getting to know them, and through their
promotion of the film and consequently want to go and see it.
Through posters and billboards people will see some of the
characters and perhaps one of the stars will draw in a ‘fan base’ as
part of the audience. Finally by the radio interview similar to the
magazine cover the audience will hopefully like the star and their
promotion of the film and therefor go and see it.
