2. Cinematic Photography - Trombone
The trombone shot, is when the camera moves forwards and zooms out at
the same speed. This will show the detail to the emotion she has in her face
and how scared she is. The background is dark, this makes it look like she
fears the dark. Throughout this shot it stays zoomed in until she starts to run.
3. Close-up
This shot is the Close up shot this shows the detail to the person or in other
cases the object. In this shot it shows how heartbroken she is to see the loss of
Paul and Jessica as well as the sight of Sarah and how distraught she is.
4. Mid-shot
This shot is a mid shot and it is called the mid-shot as it is taken from medium
distance. In this shot it is the opening scene when she is in the hospital. The mid-
shot shows half of the woman and the location as we are unaware at first.
5. Steadicam shot
This is the Steadicam shot. This is where the camera man is attached to a camera with a
mechanical arm that steadies the camera whilst he moves. This shot is similar to the
track shot. The track shot would not work because you would be able to see the tracks.
6. Wide shot
This shot is called the wide shot. This shows us the scene around Sarah and establishes
the background
7. Extreme close-up
In the extreme close up shot, a certain feature
or part of the subject takes up most of the
frame. A close up of a person usually means a
close up of their face.
Close-ups are obviously useful for showing
detail.
It sometimes creates an intense feeling for the
viewer and provides interaction with them.
This shot is usually used in horror films.
9. Arc shot
This Is an Arc shot. An arc shot does a 360 circle around the character or
object. It can also be a semi circle but the shot is used to show how people are
feeling and what is going on around that person.
