2. Tracking Shot/Pull Focus
The tracking shot follows the subject that its filming. In this
instance it’s Sarah’s daughter and the cake. The pull focus show’s
the audience what's important in a scene. In this case it’s the cake.
The shot shows the birth of life and what Sarah and her daughter
were looking forward to but in reality its showing something that
can never happen again.
3. High Angled Shot
High angled shots are used to make something feel inferior
or weak. In this case its true because Sarah’s has just been in
an accident and is injured, so she will be weak from
recovering. Its also showing the injuries that Sarah sustained
from the accident.
4. Mid Shot
A Mid shot or waist shot is a camera angle shot from a medium
distance. With this shot, the audience is starting to get an idea of
where she is. However its still keeping the audience in the dark. The
reason why they added in the blur, to keep the audience guessing.
5. Wide Shot
A Wide shot typically shows the entire object or human figure
and is usually intended to place it in some relation to its
surroundings, but with this wide shot, its concentrating on the
surroundings instead of Sarah. This is done to help the
audience finally figure out where she is.
6. Trombone Shot
Trombone shots are used to create suspense or its when the actor realizes that
there in danger or its real. In this case, Sarah has finally realized that there
something coming to get her, that there's something in the darkness.
7. Shot/Reverse/Shot
Shot-Reverse-shots are used to show what an actor is looking at
and then the actors reaction to what's happening them back again.
With the shot-reverse-shot used in this clip we get to see what’s
chasing Sarah and her reaction to it.
8. Steadicam
A steadicam isolates the operator's movement, allowing for a
smooth shot, even when the camera moves over an irregular
surface. This shot helps the audience feel like they are running
with her.
9. Arc Shot
An Arc shot is a camera movement that moves around the subject. The
Arc shot shows the reaction of both actors when they find out the bad
news. It also suggests that her world is coming apart and that the
worst thing that could happen to her has. Sarah’s has lost her husband
and her daughter and Beth is upset because of what Sarah has lost.
10. Close-Up
Close ups are used to show and object or actor up close. This close-
up connects Juno up with the arc shot that Sarah and Beth are in.
However she's on the side lines because she’s been affected by
what's happened but she’s feeling it for someone else.
