2. Costumes, make-up & props
The props with in the hospital scene are the cake which she sees while she is asleep.
After shown the cake it shows Sarah with a tube from her nose which is also a prop as
well as the machines around her. Her costume is what you wear in hospital this also
helps us know she's in hospital. The makeup in this scene is on Sarah’s face which are
the cuts around her eyes and the cut on her chin.
3. Lighting
The candles shown at the start of the scene are the only light to
show us the cake and jess are the key things in that frame with a
pitch black background this makes the other lights brighter and
blokes everything. When Sarah is running down the corridor the
lighting is only in front or above her the rest of the scene is
darkness trying to get her as each light goes out one by one.
4. Acting/Movement
The acting in the corridor shows us she is scared and that she is
on her own because no one is in the hospital that she can see
although there actually is. The camera shot ‘Trombone’ helps us
tell she is scared and mentally distraught by everything even her
surroundings. The When she wakes up in the hospital bed she is
confused where she is and why she is there.
5. Location
We can tell from the location of the
opening scene that she is in a hospital,
unwell and mentally affected from what
has happened.
The next scene we know she has left
her room when she was in bed and
now gone into the corridor and has
started to panic and get upset this has
made her mentally affected and
started to run down the corridor away
from the darkness.
