The film "Traitor" follows British secret agent Jack Steel who is framed for treason by the mole Craig Simm. In the 10-15 minute action thriller, Steel is called to MI6 headquarters and warned not to trust anyone. Simm then tells Steel's boss that classified information was leaked from Steel's computer, getting Steel fired. Steel investigates and confronts Simm, learning he is a mole for terrorists. They fight, with Steel emerging victorious and proving Simm's betrayal to be reinstated.

1. Treatment for my second film idea:
The working title for my film is “Traitor“. “Traitor “is a 10-15 minute long action thriller
surrounding a British secret agent who must race to clear his name after he is framed for
treason by a mole within MI6. The tagline for “Traitor “ is “Can you trust the truth?”
capturing how in the shadowy world of espionage and corruption, no-one really knows who
to trust and what to believe. There are two central characters in my film, protagonist Jack
Steel, the skilled British secret agent who is framed for treason by the antagonist, Craig
Simm, who is revealed to be a mole within MI6 working for a terrorist organisation intent on
destroying the secret service. Other characters include Steel’s boss Neil Armitage, and other
agents that work with Steel and Simm.
The first act begins as Steel arrives at the MI6 headquarters, where all the agents are given
a debrief stating that the identities of a large proportion of their agents have been leaked by
an unknown source, potentially someone “in this very room”. Neil Armitage, the head of
MI6, calls Steel into his office for a private discussion, in which he warns him to “trust no-
one”. Steel leaves the office and all the agents continue with their work, however soon
afterwards Craig Simm knocks on Armitage’s door, and once inside tells him that he’s been
“doing some research into the source of the encryption device” and says he has traced the
leak back to “files on Jack Steel’s computer”. Armitage is shocked by this, and asks to see
solid proof, which is provided when Simm shows him a screenshot of corrupted files with
Steel’s name on them on his laptop. As a result of this, Armitage calls Steel into his office,
explains the allegations against him and then fires him, warning him that “further
investigations will take place”. In disbelief, Steel leaves for home and decides to find out
who has framed him, bringing the film into its second act. He gets home and writes down
all the agents who he thinks could have put their corrupted memory stick into his computer,
a list of about 10 names including Simms. He then thinks about who has been acting
suspiciously lately, a list of 5, and finally who had spoken to Armitage recently before his
framing, leaving him with one name; Craig Simm. He decides to follow Simm to work the
next morning to see if he can find any proof of his potential corruption, however Simm is
aware that he’s being followed and doubles back, coming up behind Steel and bringing the
film into its third act. Steel and Simm verbally confront each other, eventually leading to
Simms’s admission that he did frame Steel for treason, because he is indeed a mole working
for a terrorist organisation called ANARCH . Simm then declares that Armitage “will never
know the truth” because he’s going to kill Steel, leading to a brutal fight between them in
the street, ending with Steel just about coming out on top. Steel then proceeds to go back
to the MI6 headquarters, where he shows Armitage an audio recording of Simm admitting
his corruption, leading to his reinstatement into the secret service, drawing the filmto a
close.

2. The target audience for “Traitor “would be 16-50 year old males who are fans of quality
action thrillers such as the Bond, Bourne and Mission: Impossible franchises, which are
realistic to an extent but also action packed and incredibly exciting. This audience would
range from a D-B on the NRS Social Demographic Scale, and fit with the “mainstream” and
“struggler” profiles on the 4C’s scale, because people from a wide variety of classes and
backgrounds enjoy action thrillers, as they are escapist to a certain extent, appealing to
those who struggle and want to be taken out of their lives for a while. The style I am going
for with “Traitor “is one that resembles the franchises listed above, the kind of film that is
very well shot, acted and edited, combining to create a sublime, suspenseful, believable and
excessively entertaining film, an action film with plot and characters worth investing in, as
opposed to some types of action films that are only watchable because of the set pieces and
nothing else. To achieve this I will use decent digital cameras to filmwith, allowing me to
film in a way that makes the final cut of “ Traitor“ look interesting and cinematic, get very
capable actors to star in my film, making the characters believable, and edit it (the fight
especially) quickly and sharply, making it fast-paced, realistic and exiting to watch. In terms
of where “Traitor“ stands on the marketplace, I definitely think there is scope for a sequel,
surrounding Steels attempt at preventing some sort of major atrocity, though I’m not sure it
would be a huge success at festivals because there have been lot of films of a similar nature
made before it.

SIMM: What are you doing here, traitor?
STEEL: I’m not the traitor here.
SIMM: And what’s that supposed to mean?
STEEL: You know what it means.

3. SIMM: I really don’t.
STEEL: I’ve noticed you acting suspiciously lately. Slipping
off half an hour early every day, regular trips to the toilet.
I wonder what you were doing when we couldn’t see you.
SIMM: (Condescending tone) Going to the toilet.
STEEL: Your desk is only a couple away from mine. You could
have easily put your corrupted memory stick into my computer.
SIMM: And why would I want to do that?
STEEL: Because you’re not who you say you are. Because you’re
the mole who leaked all the Intel, you’re the one who framed
me for treason!

STEEL: Tell me I’m wrong.
SIMM: (Clapping slowly and sarcastically) Well done, your
right. I am the man who framed you. I am the mole working for
ANARCH. I am the real traitor. But it doesn’t matter, really,
because Armitage will never know. No-one will ever know the
truth about me.
STEEL: We’ll see about that.
STEEL and SIMM proceed to fight- it is long and brutal, but
STEEL eventually comes out on top, knocking SIMM out and
limping out of shot.
