In the poem My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke, he looks back in his memory as a child and
explains the love he has for his father despite all the flaws his father holds. Roethke describes his
emotions through this poem by using diction, imagery, and the use of tone. In the poem, Roethke
uses diction that shows his emotions towards his father. In the first stanza, the poet says: The
whiskey on your breath Could make a small boy dizzy; But I hung on like death: Such waltzing
was not easy. Even though his father is a drunk he still loves him. He says I hung on like death
which emphasizes the bond he has with his father while they are waltzing together. This also shows
a strong sense of loveand affection he has for him. Because his father s breath reeked of whiskey,
it was hard for them to waltz with ease. Also, the poet somewhat describes pain in way as well
when he uses the words battered and scraped in the third stanza. He uses these word battered
because he s describing that his father s hands as worn out and beat up because he probably

when the poet and his father waltz, his right ear scraped because his father was drunk on the
whiskey and it made him a little dizzy and the poet most likely hit something which scraped his

together waltzing even though they are being careless as they are bumping into the pots and pans in
the kitchen which annoys the mother as described in the second stanza in the last two lines.
With the use of imagery, the poet communicates to the reader the emotional bond between the

Recently Kreider and colleagues studied the effect of a specific exercise program in overweight
woman with a VLCKD or normal carbohydrate content diet [17], but only few papers that focus
specifically on the influence of VLCKD on sports performance have been published, and with
conflicting results: showing benefits [18,19], no effect [20,21] or impairment [22,23].
The present study set out to investigate if a VLCKD could be useful for athletes, especially for
those engaged in sports involving weight categories where weight loss without negative changes in
the body composition (i.e. loss of muscle mass) and performance is often needed.

Subjects
Nine high level male athletes (age 21 В± 5.5), elite artistic gymnasts, were recruited for this study.

Hunger , written by Lee Samantha Chang, the author shows how lost the Chinese characters feel
in an American setting. Min, a Chinese woman who is stuck in the alien setting of America,
tells one of her experiences: Now I sat alone, I was overtaken by fear. I longed to be back home

Cells are surrounded with a boundary known as the cell surface membrane and as well as holding
the cell together, being semi permeable, it controls the movement of materials across it. Within the
cell are a number of structures each which have specific functions. These structures are known as
organelles. The cell surface membrane and the membranes of any of the membrane bound
organelles described below are made of the same material, a double layer of phospholipid
molecules. Within the cell surface membrane, the intracellular space known as the cytoplasm,
contains all the organelles and a fluid known as cytosol. Within the cytosol is a network of
microtubules and fibres called the cytoskeleton. This cytoskeleton s main functions are to give
support to the cell helping to maintain its shape and aid the movement of organelles. Most cell
organelles and structures are common to both animal and plant cells but there are some
differences as outlined in the table below and as seen in fig. 1 and fig. 2.
